Hello girls,
yes, I do put Wolf down just awake at night. Sometimes drowsy, other times still wide awake. If he is wide awake he will lie there for up to an hour, wrestling his little stuffed "bog" (we can't make up our mind if it's a dog or bear, so we refer to it as the bog, he he).
Wolf is sometimes good in his car seat, but especially on long trips he gets really cranky now. It was fine when he was little. He would just sleep and sleep and sleep, but now he is awake and cranky. We bought a new car seat from 9kg which I'll hopefully get to use soon (wolf will be weighed and measured in 10 days at the paed). It faces the driving direction and not the other way round like the capsule. The capsule can't be turned around (it's a European system by a company called maxi cosi, very popular here).
Today we'll go babyswimming for the first time. Very curious to see how Wolf will go and what they will do. Feeling very self conscious about being in swimmers though.... when we were in Oz I never went to the beach, just swam in IL-pool when no one was around. I am wondering if I should wear my fake boob but I'm afraid it might float off... plus everyone would see me putting it in and taking it out in the change room anyways (no private change rooms, was there for my ante-natal class 1/2 a year ago). (for the new ones: I have a DD cup and an A cup because I am just feeding from one side)
Okay, Wolf has commando crawled to the speakers and is chewing on the cables... better go!!!

Hi....
Just a quick post... I took Jaykob into an modelling agency today, Took me hour to get there and hour home.... lol :/ very tired
Its $395 for one year, thats including a website and headshots etc. I came home and thought about it and I still have alot of homework to do, but they want my answer in 48 hours because they are having an 'intake'
So Im hoping someone here may have had any experience in the field?
Any reccomendations? Good Experiences? If so, who with? Costs? anything!! hahahaha
Thanks! - Colleen
ps i wont say the agency name til i see what happens!
-
Welcome Scarlett and Rob!!
Colleen, hmm, not sure about this one. It seems a lot of money to fork over. I guess if you are gonna do it, at least use a 'well known' agency. Not really sure, what about looking up feedback on the internet?
Had so much more to say and I suddenly have baby brain!
Cuddles to all the bubbas!
Jess

Hello girls,
Colleen, to be honest, it sounds like a money-making-scheme. I wouldn't do it - it's an awful lot of money. I think I would only let my child do any of that kind of work if I was approached by a company on the street and they'd pay for all the expenses and not the other way round.
re. the godparents thingie: well, I think godparents are a religious thing and part of a christening/baptism. If you want something non-religious, I'd ask someone to be a (legal) guardian.
Wolf has had a few difficult nights (awake for 1-2 hours at 3 a.m.) and I am soooooooo tired. I thought that around 6 months, it would get easier, not harder... *sigh*
My mom was here from Wednesday to Sunday, so have been a bit quiet. It was good to have her here and I could see how much she enjoyed having Wolf around all day!
Snowy
-
Hey everyone, it's a bit quiet in here! Everyone's bub keeping them busy?
Snowy, sorry to hear Wolf's not sleeping so good... hope things are better now. Must have been great to have your mum around for those days!
Hey Jess, how's the job working out?
Well, the last 2 nights (touch wood!) have been the best we've had in months ... 11 hours, woohoo! Gotta be happy about the good times cos you never know when the bad nights will come back! Kaleb has just mastered the 'ba' sound, so when he is happy it is ba ba ba constantly, which is very cute! Going into my work for a visit tomorrow - I'm wondering what sort of emotions this will stir...
-
Hi everyone,
Snowy I am taking Emily to caloundra to meet my grandmother next week and I can't wait to see how they get on.
She has been really unsettelled the last two days, woke up at 3am for the first time in about a month last night and has been really cross today. Fingers crossed she settles downsoon.
-
Oh Beth, I'm so jealous! 11 hours!! I wish.. Wolf doesn't seem to sleep for more than 4 hours in a row... bugger...
let us know how the work visit went!
Scarlett, oh, that should be nice for Em to meet her great-grandmother!!
Wolf had some sweet potoato yesterday and loved it!
Snowy
-
Hi Everyone,
Well my little man is 3 months old now. *sigh* I just can't believe it.
I haven't been well - sick for the last week but Matty is well, he is sleeping right through the night and has just started grabbing things - so cute!
Catch up with you all later and hope you are all well.
Mods - can someone please transfer my details across? Thanks :)
-
Oh Nell, sorry to hear you're not well. It's such hard work with a bub at the best of times, let alone when you're sick. Glad to hear Matty is sleeping through, at least you can get some rest.
Snowy, glad to hear Wolf likes the sweet potato. This is one of Kaleb's favourites too. It freezes well, unlike the normal potato which goes kind of rubbery when you defrost it.
Work visit was good. Kaleb behaved himself, which was great considering how much he was passed around from person to person. I thought that I'd come away thinking 'wow, I'm so glad I'm out of there!' but I realised I was actually missing it a little bit. Of course, everyone thought I was mad when I told them this!
-
Hi everyone,
well my baby is 3months now too it goes way too fast
We have all had flu too Nell, it's been a nightmare, poor Ryan has a blocked nose and a cough.
I hope you are all well
Take care
-
hey everyone,
well Jaykob rolled over for the first time last night, he could already roll from his front to back but hadnt quite conquered the back to front. It was amazing to watch his reaction to our reactions \:D/ lol IYKWIM
Jaykob has only just started sleeping in his own room as after we got back from our travels, we stayed with the in laws for a little while, Im suprised at how well he is sleeping in there. :smt023
I drop into the IRC belly belly chat channel every now and then and havent really seen anyone in there, does anyone go in there? :-s
I noticed there is a chat scheduled for tommorrow (friday) 1pm? I'll be there!
I have updated Jaykobs website with a few pics, I have hundreds but it takes so long to upload them, (dial-up net at the moment)
Welcome to anyone thats come across , I cant believe I only have one more month til Jaykob is 6 months. It really brings to light how fast life flys by...
I hope everyone is well, (its very quiet in here!) and maybe I'll see you in the chat 2moro!!
Night - Colleen :boggle: <--- thats me i been on the net tooo long
-
Bubs get more demanding of our attention nowadays don't they? I find my spare time dimishing. Yesterday I was trying to organise the house as we moved 3 weeks ago and there is still stuff everywhere. I keep forgetting about the chats, I'll see if I am free then.
Plus the flu hasn't helped - quite alot of us have had it.
Colleen - yay for Jaykob!! We keep hanging out for Matthew to roll over, he is close but not quite there yet.
Hope you are all well.
-
Me again! Well Matty did it today, he rolled over, stomach to back for the first time today - very exciting! :D
-
Yeah Nellbe on Matty rolling front to back! Before you know it, he'll be roaming around the house!! We are getting a play pen next week - just in time. Wolf looks like he's about to take off. Nothing is safe anymore - he can get everywhere now. He can curl his legs under now and sometimes will sit there rocking back and forth.. not long til he can really crawl around - not just commando crawl! Scary!
Well, tomorrow he'll be 6 months and I have to move to the next forum - just as all the new girls here are arriving! Welcome Naomi!
Snowy
-
Well, girls, Wolf is 6 months today, so this will be my last post in here. See you all really soon in the 6-9 months forum!!
Wolf is sitting unassisted now. I've taken a few shots and will post them on my website today. Also, will upload some shots of the babyswimming for all to see.
Snowy

Hi Girls, and Nellbe and Naomi!
Aidan has a cold too! I had to go to work the day it arrived and I felt horrible all day, I just wanted to be with him and cuddle him. Pretty sure it wasnt the flu as it only lasted a few days and he seems to be getting better *fingers crossed*.
Aidan is rolling like a trooper and can sit unassisted for short periods of time! He is loving his solids, farex for morning tea and vegies for dinner, I am thinking of introducing a fruit for dessert. Mashed banana, I'll have to try and not eat it myself - yum!
Work is going well, its great only 2 days a week, I wonder if I can do that until I retire?!
Beth, can you tell me about your new business, and how it is coming along?
Mothers Group are talking about signing up for swimming and Gymbaroo soon, so that should be fun.
Colleen, did you make a decision on that agency?
Jess
p.s. 3 wills till' Aidan meets his Aunty for the first time!!
-
Hi Everyone,
Snowgirl - See you in a month! (in the 6mth forum i mean lol) Time is flying!
Jessica123 - Ive had his headshots taken, which came out great, so I guess I will go thru with it, If it turns out to be crap, at least I'll be able to warn others but the fact that they have offered to let me sit in on one of their target catalogue shoots makes me feel better. See what happens, i guess I can only learn from it.
I know that Jaykob wont be at risk because if I see something happening that Im not happy with I'll take him out of it.
I'll keep you all updated
He was reccomended to the Agency after he won most photogenic at a baby show.
I hope everyone is well, seems we got that cold vibe here too, Jaykobs got a runny nose...
:(
I managaged to get into chat on friday arvo, not many in there.... hopefully there will be a few more next week??
Colleen
-
Hey everyone,
Colleen - totally forgot about the chat on Friday, hopefully I'll remember next Friday. It was about that time Matty did his first roll over so I was very excited. Hope the shots work out okay.
Jess - glad that Aidyn is better and work is okay. How are you liking Mum's group?
All is well at our place. Just plodding along as usual and am loving watching Matthew do something new every day.
Keep well!
-
Wow, looks like all the bubs are getting very mobile, lots of rolling going on!
Bye Snowy, see you soon in the 6 mths forum!
Jess, I hope Aidan is all better now. Glad to hear work is going well, and woohoo at Aidan meeting his aunty soon! I have one brother, he lives in the UK and I can't wait till the day he gets to meet his nephew. Business is going good, I am an aromatherapist so I do massages and make blends for people to use at home. I've got a few clients now, and I have made a few pregnancy and baby products (tested on myself and Kaleb!) that I sell, so we'll see how it goes...hopefully I'll make enough to not have to go back to the bank!
-
Hey, Does anyone know of a gymbaroo in Brisbane? I haven't been able to find one yet.
Does anyone have teeth come through yet? Jules has started having teething rusks cos her gums are soo sore, but still no sign of teeth.
-
Hi
mel83 - jaykob is around the same age and he started having teething rusks yesterday, they have helped soooo much! everyone seems to think theres a tooth on its way but i cant see it lol
I suppose thats not really much help lol
Colleen
I just noticed that theres only 3 days difference between them.... jaykob was born 15-12-04 and wow! your back for another already! your doing well!!!!
-
Yeah, Jules is such a good baby, and we want them close in age so there was no point in waiting. Besides, we want 5, and i want to finish having them at 30, so we can then look at fostering.
Jaykobs already on solids then?
What age did you start him? and how much does he eat? Jules only has a jar a day, but i think given the chance she'd eat 5! She's a real pork chop!
-
lol yeah i know what you mean about pork chop lol
Jaykob was actually given solids (farex) at 3 1/2 mths! My aunt is very traditional and took over but anyway I pulled the plug on it.
Jaykob has a tub of yoghurt ( baby yoghurt) every now and then if I think hes hungry and Im low on my milk or feeling run down...
Other than that still fully breastfed.
He manages the rusks ok though.
WOW!! on the no. of children you want! and fantastic that you want to foster! You are very brave! I only want two and later in life would consider a foster child or temp child care sort of thing.
Jaykobs just hit 27 pound so I need to let my back recover before I have any more LOL
-
Whats that in kilos? Sorry, i don't remember how to convert it. Jules weighs 7.3 kilos, which isn't really much for her age, but it sure is enough to kill my back! My friends little boy, born on the 16th, he weighs 8.5 kilos already and she is only a tiny little thing.
-
-
Wow! That is huge! I understand why you'd want your back to recover.
-
hello girls,
I know, I'm not supposed to be here anymore, but just wanted to let you know that we went to the 6 months check up yesterday and Wolf weighs 8.2kg and is 70cm tall. His head is 46cm which is quite big!! (hopefully all brain, no air :D)
The paed said she was quite impressed with how advanced he is and that he is more like a 9 months old. Of course I was beaming with pride :)
He got his last vaccination for the year (ouchie.. lots of tears.. I so hate that part)
Hope y ou are all well and see you in the 6-9 months forum soon!
Snowy
-
snowgirl - wow! see you in a few weeks
Jaykob must be the size of a 18 month old then lol
hes 5 1/2 months, 12 kilos, 74 cm long not sue of HC
i might go look for the measuring tape lol
Quiet in here?
Dont forget chat tommorrow!
-
Sorry Mel, don't know of any gymbaroos in Brissie - I'll keep an eye out though. Glad to hear Jules is such a good baby and congrats on the new one! Hope you're feeling well.
Wow Snowy, you must be very proud! Good boy, Wolf!
Colleen, Jaykob is a big beautiful boy! I can imagine it would be hard on your back though, Kaleb is just under 9kgs and is hefty enough.
Just went shopping this morning, picked up some of the Fisher Price toys that are on sale at KMart this week. Put Kaleb in the seat in the trolley - he thought it was the most exciting thing that's ever happened, grinning and squealing the whole time. Funny considering he still doesn't like his pram!
-
hope you are all well.
All is okay in this house, Matty is growing and I swear he does something new everyday.
I was looking at the Fisher Price toys too, I just didn't know which one to get? they all look like fun! Beth - at least you know now that Kaleb will like a trolley, just use that instead of your pram at the shops?
Have a great weekend everyone.
-
My bubba is 13weeks old and he is almost 8kgs (10pound 12ox born) And he always seem to be feeding. Sometimes I dont have milk and he just plays till he is tired.
I was reading that some mums give Farax....I saw that in the shop today. How is that?
-
Hey! Hows everyone going?
Sorry i have been missing in action. Have not been able to get on the internet as much do to living at DP's mum's. So hoping we find a place of our own very soon, we have 7 people living in a 3br place, very cramped. Dp is loving his new job too so that is good.
Lily is doing great. Teething again though, this time a bit worse. I gave her a teething rusk the other day and she munched off half of it in about 20mins, so they must be giving her hell.
I can't believe that she is almost 6mths old! Will be graduating to the other forum too, can't wait. Lily loves to stand while i hold onto her hands, she thinks it's great fun. She still wants to crawl and is not really interested in rolling. She's getting the sitting thing happening too, so i don't think it will be long at all until she has it.
Also have to book in for her needles, not fun. Though she doesn't cry all that much which is good. Haven't got her weighed or measured for 2 months either so she will have grown alot. She feels about 7.5kgs.
Sorry for no personals as i am doing a huge catch up on bellybelly tonight. Hopefully i will see you again before i move onto the next forum.
Hope everyone and their bubs are well.
-
Great to hear from you Tegan, I was wondering how you and Lily were going? And Jacob of course! How is his new job?
Matty is 14 weeks and he 5.6kgs.
Not sure Elijahs_Mum about the farex thing. I guess it is best to ask your MHCN about it. You could always comp feed with formula if you think he is still hungry at night.
Hope the rest of you are all well.
-
Hi everyone!
Elijah's Mum, if you are worried about Elijah's weight, maybe speak to the MCHN? I dont think Farex would be recommended for Elijah just yet, he would be too young and especially since he is doing sooo well on breastmilk alone - you should be very proud of yourself! =D> But if you are tired of b/f, dont feel guilty at all to consider other options! You could always replace just one feed with forumla? I suggest think on it for awhile, but do whats right for YOU!
Colleen, what does the MCHN say about Jaykob's weight? I am worried at Aidan's next visit in 2 weeks they will suggest a diet, but I love my chubby bubby, he is 'just right' as far as I'm concerned = 20pounds when I weighed him myself yesterday. It is almost off the scale in the Child Health book but I think as soon as he starts crawling he will even out more.
Beth, your business sounds really exciting, I hope it goes well, let us know what products we can buy!
Tegan, yes, scary that you, then I, will soon be in the next forum. Wouldn't you agree though that this is such a fantastic time. Aidan is so responsive and really has personality now. I am also noticing that DH seems so much more 'interested' in Aidan now that he isn't a precious newborn!
Speaking of Gymbaroo - does anyone have any thoughts on it? I am thinking of joining Aidan up but not sure if it is worth it just yet? Would love to hear your opinions.
Jess
-
jessica 123,
they've never really said anything, because he is tall - it all evens out to be within ok ranges.
He just looks older, still got lotsa rolls but yeah.... they've never suggested diets, i think because hes purely breastfed.
Hope everyone is well, alls well here, Jaykobs starting putting his hands out to be picked up now which is cute...
Colleen
