Dee - Hope you can get Matthew's eczema back under control. It's funny what your MIL thinks you are able to feed Matthew already. It was the same my my MIL came over when Kimberley was 10months old i never gave her chocolate or lollies but MIL brought her some every day. Just glad i managed to get Kimberley out of wanting it all the time.
The only other thing i am going to bake this week is that coconut slice thing you sent me the recipe for.
-
Oh Michelle - yum yum! When you post about your baking my mouth just doesnt stop watering! Glad that Alex is sleeping well for you! Hendy didnt mind having his hair cut both times as he was asleep ;)
Dee - thank you. I really hope Matthew's ezcema calms a bit for him. Allergies are horrible arent they??
Shannon - you and Jessalyn are so brave! I dont mind needles myself at all but i cant stand watching hendy getting them. Hope her 4 monthers went ok!
-
Deanne: Yah on Matthews roll :) And yes mother in laws sometimes find a way too block their ears to what they dont want to hear!
Shannon: Hope all went well with Jessalyn's needles, and great that she is soldiering on with the sitting and standing
Hey everyone else:)
I have been living the quiet life riddled with major toothaches!! Having all my teeth done on thursday so thinking my body is making my teeth ache to remind me not to back out of appointment, pretty scared but at the same time fed up with all the pain.
Mason is going well, fighting still on the sleep front, but i dont give in as i know there is nothing wrong with him, i just keep picturing me or hubby still laying down with Luke when he was 2 or so and think not going there again, he will get there, he is going great with the night time sleep as i have it bath then bed and he knows its going to happen, morning are fine too, but the afternoon one he still wont get used too.
He sleeps on his tummy now, he just rolls himself over so i took out the wedge thing now.
I have upped his milk on his lunch time bottle as he was getting pretty whinging after that bottle, seems to have worked.
Want to up his milk more before i start any solids next month, he seems fine without them at the moment still.
Well i shall stop rambling now :)
Take care
Belinda

Alex was back to waking up again last night so I think i will cut out a solid feed at lunch time and just give him solids for breakfast and after his lunch time sleep which when he does have one he wakes up around 3:30 or 4. So i am hoping if he has some yummy vegies and maybe some fruit then he will sleep better.
DH is away over night tonight so it's just me and the kids.
-
Hi Shannon,
Sorry to hear things didn't go to well with Jessalyn's needles. It must be hard for you seeing her go through som much already in such a short amount of time. She is one stronger little girl and has a wondeful mummy.
Hope all goes well when Corey goes away.
I'm hoping this will go alright tonight it's the first time i have been on my own with them overnight not that DH does much to help anyway as long as i keep Kimberley awake all day she should be asleep by 7:30 tonight.
I think Alex woke because i gave him his solids at different times. I gave him some jar food at lunch time then at tea time he didn't want anything when normally he will take what ever i give him at tea time. The CYN told me the other day to give him more food at night to help him sleep better and so far that was working. So we will see what happens tonight. I'll give anything a try once to see if it works i won't get frustrated with it all if he doesn't sleep all night again. It's something the CYN said she will look into if he keeps doing it. At the moment he is sleeping all night about 3 nights a week so i can cope with that. I should be used to it really as Kimberley never slept all night until after she was 1.
-
Oh Shannon huge hugs to you, it must be so hard and you probably keep going, going, going, going until eventually things get on top of you so you have a meltdown and feel better again (that`s what happens with me anyway), Jessalyn is so very lucky to have a Mummy like you, your an amazing woman :D OMG @ your MIL, makes mine look good with the foods she was suggesting, not sure if they don`t listen or just don`t think, I said to my Dad this morning I`m glad she doesn`t look after Matthew as who knows what she`ll be feeding him
Michelle - Hope all goes okay tonight with Kimberley and Alex while Paul is away. Did you manage to bake the Chocolate Cocnut Slice? They are so yummy and I`m not a fan of coconut, they don`t last long in this household especially if I make them when the boys are here.
Belinda - you poor thing suffering from toothache, Good luck with your appointment on Thursday. Glad Mason is going well except for his sleeping.
Heather - Allergies are just a major problem aren`t they, you think your going along fine then bang omething happens and you have to rack your brain to try and work out what may have caused it, Matthew`s eczema has calmed down to what it was last night, his face looked like it was burnt, poor little man.
When Matthew eats all his rice cereal it makes a big diference to him sleeping, he`s decided he`s not going to cooperate where eating is concerned so only has 1/2 of what he was eating so wakes up at night, last night he woke at 3.30am and then again at 415am both times he had to have a breastfeed. I might try him on pear at lunch time and see how he goes.
Matthew is also starting to show a temper 8-[ it`s happened a few times the last few days when he grabs something hes not suppose to have he screams and yesterday at lunch time he wanted my milkshake right or wrong tired to distract him with his toys but he wasn`t having a bar off that so screamed and went all red, oh what fun we`re going to have :D
Take Care

Shannon - Alex now takes his babyrice well he did for breakfast and had two tablespoons full of it and a little extra to make it thicker again towards the end. He does like his pumpkin i think that is his fav he doesn't mind sweet potato and he likes his fruit.
Really hope Jessalyn does start to take her solids alright for you. It must be hard when you are trying to give them to her and she ends up back in hospital.
Deeanne - Not made the coconut slice yet as we went out this morning and i have so much left from baking yesterday i thought Paul was going to take some but he didn't. Looks like it is up to me to eat it all :D
Hope Matthew is not getting a temper.
-
Oh Shannon - you are so beautiful you made my eyes well up with your compliment of hendy. Thank you so much! And i have to agree he is definatly been around before! On your front now-You are an absolutely amazing mum and the reason that Jess is doing so well on all other fronts is because she has you! Wish i could give you a proper hug but a cyber on will just have to do *hugs* (bearlike :))
Dee - let us know how Matthew goes on his pear. As i said before that is the food that im going to start Hendy on. I left the book at mums house so ill let you know the title as soon as im able to.
Michelle- i hope you are ok without DH tonight. Its tough isnt it when by the end of the day youre used to those extra pair of hands. Once Alex and Kimberley are asleep you should spoil yourself with a girly video or something similar.
Well Hendy slept 13 hours last night and has just been in the best mood today because of it. Fingers crossed he stays cheerful for the rest of the day!
-
Michelle - We all know what your going to be having for dinner :D All your yummy baking.
Heather - Woohoo for Hendy`s great sleep that`s terrific.
My boy has decided he can now move to get at things he`s not suppose to have, I was sitting on the loungeroom floor with him sorting out my photos, Matthew was on his playmat but decided he wanted Daddy`s playstation games, so we go rolling, rolling, rolling and get what we want but Mummy spoilt the fun and put them away so we decide to go over to Daddy`s remote control cement truck so aagain we roll, roll, roll. Looks like I now have a mobile boy on my hands, Mark asked me how did he get over there as it was a fair distance he covered.
-
Kate - I`ve been meaning to ask if you received the growth chart okay?
-
Kate - I should have looked at my PM`s before I asked you #-o
-
OMG Dee - i cant believe how mobile Matthew is already! I have such a funny image of him rolling along. So so cute :D
-
It was cute watching him, I couldn`t believe what I was seeing :D I was just saying to Mark that they grow up so very very quickly.
-
Deeanne i have thought about just eating that lot for dinner tonight but i think all that chocolate is giving me a headache.
LOL @ Matthew rolling to get what he wants.
-
My night last night was great Alex was in bed by 5:30pm and Kimberley 6:30pm. Alex did wake 3 times last night and when he woke at 5:50am for a feed and would not take all of it i just walked away and left him in his cot to talk to himself and finally after 20mins he went back to sleep.
Really having trouble getting him to take his milk at the moment sometimes i have to put him on the floor to take it and then he may only take 100mls of it. Even when we went to the shops this morning he only took a little bit but he did eat lots of babyrice for breakfast.
How is everyone doing today ??
-
I stayed up and watched that as well but it took me ages to fall asleep i think it was gone midnight and then Alex woke at 1am.
I don't know why i was worried being on my own with the kids last night as i am the one that does everything for them anyway and only sometimes Paul gets up with them first thing.
It is horrible when you don't really wake up to feed them i find on nights like that i can't remember waking up at all and have to think really hard if i did or not.
Hope everything goes well for you tonight Shannon.

Heather - The pear was a huge hit with Matthew, he ate 1 and was looking for more, now I wonder if I`ll get a huge nappy explosion LOL
Kate - So sorry to hear about your friend loosing her Baby, it`s so hard, my neice lost her baby girl at 21 weeks only 16 days after Matthew was born. So sorry to hear that Kelsey is so unsettled. Have you asked Katanya for the Breastfeeding growth chart? If so how`s Kelsey`s weight on there? Remembering our charts are all out of date and are based on formula fed american babies. Dr didn`t mention if Matthew will outgrow the eczema or not, it`s heredity so I imagine he`ll always have a little, mine went wild when I was pregnant but has since settled down.
Welcome Moof and Hannah
Michelle - Glad you had a good night
Matthew is going ahead in leaps and bounds, he was sitting up unaided at work today playing with big lego blocks, he loved them so I think Santa will have to bring some at Christmas time.
oooh I can smell that nappy explosion LOL. I better go and change the boy and give him a bath, it`s so hot here it might help to cool him down.
-
-
Dee - yay at the pear success!! As much as im going to hang out till 6 months im getting a bit excited about trying the foods!
Kate - im so sorry to hear about your friend. That must be the hardest thing. I also agree with Shannon that you should worry more about your mothers instinct. Kelsey sounds like a happy healthy thing when you are following your heart. Its funny cause the only problems i had with Hendy was when i was feeding him more regularly and he got a sore belly!
Welcome to Moof and Hannah - looking forward to getting to know you. I checked out your photos and what a gorgeous looking girl!

Hi girls,
have been MIA for a couple of days mainly because of this rotten ankle. So difficult to get things done because I am limited mobility wise, and seem to run out of time before I get on here. Sigh.
Anyway, things going well with us. Pup has adapted to a new routine that involves spending a lot of time in one room with his mum for most of the day! He is still sleeping through the night (thank god) mainly about 10 - 11 hrs. The other night he slept for 13.5 hours and I had to wake him up. My boobs were bursting!!
We had to go to Melb on the weekend to a first communion and a number of my extended family met Pup for the first time. They are rather slack about coming out to see us, so hence he is now going on 4 months and this is their first sighting. Sigh...again.
For those that remember me finishing my Masters before Pup was born, well, I have my graduation tomorrow night at Monash in Melbourne. We are heading down tomorrow lunch time as I now have to allow time for not only getting Pup organised, but myself as well. Ha ha.
On Sunday we are having Pup christened. And what a saga. I have been disappointed with some of the RSVPs. Tell me if I am I crazy. I made the invites myself and I didn't put any names on the actaul invites (it was generally worded). I sent them to close friends and family members and I addressed the envelope to the person who I was either related to, or that I knew would be repsonsible for getting thier mob organised. I got some replies from my in laws that they were confused about whether just the person on the envelope was invited (ie just my SIL) or their whole family as well (ie my SILs hubby and kids). NONE of my family and friends have not seemed to have this problem. They have all assumed that to a christening, they are all invited. But some of my I-Ls seem to only feel that they are invited if each of their names is actaully printed on the invite. Was I being rude by not putting names on, or are they just being pedantic???
Anyway, so far about 50 are coming and I'm sure we'll have a great time. Hope the weather holds.
Like some of the bubs here, Pup is off for his 2nd lot of needles. We are going on Monday. Poor buggar. I just know he's going to cry. Awwww.
What is the growth chart some have mentioned on here? I have to get Pup back into the MCH centre to be weighed and other measurements taken. I want to find out about his percentile (both right now and int he past...for posterity). I'm pretty sure that Pup is in the bottom 15% because he was so little born. When do they catch up??
Well, best push off. Probably won't be around before Friday and then might be missing until after weekend when visitors leave.

Welcome Moof and Hannah :)
It's great when they have great birth dates.
Kimberley's is 01/02/03 and i love typing that one.
-
Hi in here. Dion is just over 3 months now, I am back at work ( 2nd night tonight) My big boofa is nearly 8 kg, is in 0 bonds growsutis, and his 00 clothes are getting too short in the sleeve, and legs! I lost my baby too quick IYKWIM!!!!
Hayseed, Dion is getting baptised on nov 13th and the invites I sent out were general, "you are invited" and I put the names on the main
person on the envelopes, and everyone seems to understand, not so pedantic are my rellies. ( only having 25 for a bbq lunch + kids, no where near as big as yours) They say it can take up til they are 2 to catch up, but that they will have done so by then , even very premmies!
we tried, but cant stick to a strict rouitine, with swimming lessons, playgroup, school, ballet etc etc its too hard for us, we do the eat, play sleep bizzo though,
Well must go answer a buzzer, catch u again soon.
-
Brooke - I did get your email thank you have been meaning to reply and i will. Alex has only got fussy since he has been having solids and now will only take 150mls of milk and before he was taking 200mls and sometimes 250mls. I went out last night and brought a new style bottle and teat to see if that would help but no it was still the same. This morning i did not give him his babyrice to see if he would take more milk but no.
Great to see Maya is doing so well will checkout her website in a minute :)
Kate - So sorry to read your friends new sending her lots of healing vibes and hugs.
-
Morning all!
Kate - sorry to hear about your friend, poor thing. And I think you're right about trusting your own instincts, one of the hardest thing is getting all different advice from different people. You're the one around bubs all day, you know her best.
hayseed - congrats on finishing your Masters! Well done! I have just finished my BA and my 3rd year of BEd (secondary), just 12months to go now! Hope your christening goes wlel and the weather holds out for you.
Michelle - how is Alex with the milk today? My first daughter Lucy was the same, as soon as she started on rice cereal & vegies at 6months, she loved it so much she started drinking much less milk. i tried to add it to all her vegies and rice cereal to compensate, but couldn't really get her to drink anymore from a bottle. Sorry I have no advice, but at least you know you're not alone!
Cole is being a bit of a whinger today, in fact for the past 3-4 days. He may be teething I think, he has really dark green poo and lots of it, constant whinging for me, hates everyone else right now and wouldnt take a bottle of EBM yesterday while I was at an exam! Even his day naps have been a bit disturbed, he seems to wake up crying a bit more, though usually goes bak to sleep. I hope its only teething, we have our 4month checkup with MHN on Monday anyway. He is still feeding 4x per day of fme really well so I'm not too worried.
Poor Lucy cut 2 of her 2yr old molars on Tuesday, poor thing! She fell asleep at kinder for 3hrs (unheard of!) and refused to eat any food for days, shes looking pretty skinny right now! I think Cole might catch up to her the way he's going.
Take care

Hi Ladies,
Dee ... well i have finally managed to get to this thread .... ! ... congrats on Mathew sitting unaided ... I can't wait for Jesse to sit on his own, don't think he is too far away - fingers crossed.
Brookey - I am a fan of Gina Ford also, i agree she is very strict with her routines but you can follow to suit yourself & your baby to make it work for you. I can confidently say he is very contented. Now at 5 & 1/2 mths he is sleeping from 7:30pm to 7am .... with only the odd nightly wake up, which he gets himself back to sleep easily. I learned alot from that book.
-
Caz i just got 40mls of milk into Alex and that was hard work. I am so pleased to hear I'm not the only one to have trouble with this. I never had this problem with Kimberley. I do sometimes add it too his food but he then won't take much food.
-
yes well im looking forward to getting to know you all :D
-
Babywise
Have any of you tried the Babywise method with your babies?
moofy! :D
-
Hi Girls, I have a feeling I`m not going to be too successful here to post a reply to everyone with Mr Matthew, he`s into everything, have to keep my eyes on him all the time now, had him in the loungeroom thinking he`ll be ok for a few minutes with his toys as I finish sweeping the floor, went to check on him and he`s out the door with his dolly LOL.
Okay this isn`t working gota go and I`ll be back later
Just quickly Hi Rails glad to see you here at last \:D/
-
Hi All
Welcome all you newbies :D
Kate-So sorry to hear about your friend, my thoughts are with her.
Oh man, Jonah just woke up, might try and get back on later. If not a big hi to everyone :smt039 and I hope you've all had a lovely day.
-
Okay I`m here to try again now Matthew is asleep at least I know he`ll still be there when he wakes up :D
Moffy - I haven`t tried the Babywise method, are you trying it?
Caz - I hope Cole is more settled for you this afternoon.
Welcome Vanita and Dion
Hayseed - I wouldn`t take much notice of the percentile growth charts, babies are all very different, Matthew has always been on the 97th percentile for everything but Daddy is a tall man so he`s taking after Daddy`s side of the family. As long as Pup is doing well that`s all you have to worry about. The charts everyone is talking about are the Breastfed Baby graphs which hopefully will be out by the end of the year as far as I`m aware, Katanya has been sending links to the site to whomever likes to take a look. That`s wonderful news about your Graduation today, have a lovely time on Sunday.
Rails - How is Jesse?
Matthew woke at 1.45am, 2.30am (think he got woken up by the alarm at 2.30) then again at 6am, otherwise he`s doing very well, still trying to calm his eczema down and as you probably gathered from my last email he seems to have arms and legs everywhere LOL No stopping him now.
Take Care
Deeanne
-
Alex is still not taking much milk even with me not giving him solids for lunch. I changed his teat to a faster flow one but that made no real differance.
Alex did wake this morning at 1:30 and then 4:30 at that time i went in to feed him and all he did was scream so i put him back to bed until he fell back to sleep which he did.
Deeanne - Hope Matthew starts to sleep all night again for you.
Hayseed - Nice to see you back. Have a great time on Sunday.
-
Brooke - Matthew`s not crawling yet but rolling everywhere is just as bad, I never thought of him rolling and getting into everything, the places he ends up and the things he finds, I`m going to have to talk to the boys when we pick them up today about putting everything away such as marbles and rubberbands they leave around since Matthew is so active in his rolling.
Kate - That`s good news about Kelsey`s weight, Good luck with talking to the family and have a great time camping.
Michelle - sorry to hear Alex still isn`t taking much milk even without solids and that he`s still waking up.
Matthew was also up last night at 3.45am even after a big feed of rice cereal and a big breastfeed before bed, not sure if a growth spurt could be happening or perhaps he needs more Breastfeeds because of the energy he`s burning off.
-
Shannon - we were posting at the same time Have fun at the gym, your a lot more energectic then I am, I haven`t been to a gym since I was in high school, hope Jessalyn is okay with the people, Matthew has gone through that stage a number of times but is ok again now with people.
-
Hi all ...
Dee - Jesse is doing very well .... he is rolling around everywhere also ! .... just started doing the double roll overs ... starts in one spot ends up over the other side of the floor ... haha ... ! ... I put one of those bed side panel cusions under him when i need to do something out of sight, it works 95% of the time .... sometimes he manages to get over it....little rascal #-o .... Has Mathew been introduced to a portacot? ... when Jesse becomes unstoppable i will put him in the portacot with a bunch of toys to play with .... very successful for my sister's boy. Or you could get a playpen....(looks like a mini jail...haha) ....
Brookey - a girlfriend of mine got me onto the book when i was pregnant ... so i was well prepared, not everyone agrees with her ways - even me in some areas, but i must say it must have worked for us because i will say everyday how Lucky we are to have such a good baby !! ....
Kate - you are definately not being selfish .... a christening is a special day for the baby ....birthdays should be seperate. Have fun camping - hope the 'chat' is received well by the family 8-[
moof - what is the babywise method? .... have not heard of this ... :-k
On Tuesday I went into the city to meet a couple girlfriends for lunch .... the day did not start off well ... i had to bring forward Jesse's Lunch earlier because it takes about an hour to get into the city, he wasn't too interested in the solids, had a BF. When we got to the cafe he started to get cranky & when i checked for his dummy ..... NOT THERE !!!! ....my DH took it out the other day & did not replace it -he hasn't used the dummy for about 4 days & the day he needs it I don't have it .... so i had to end up BF in the cafe ... was very uncomfortable ... never done that before ... my girlfriend helped cover me up the side he fed from so you couldn't see anything, did the job to settle him, finished off his feed in the car after lunch....couldnt wait to get home .... ! :-({|=
Yesterdays outing was much better ... he was a happy chappy all day ! =D>
-
Rails - That`s a great idea about a portacot or playpen I`d never thought of it don`t know why. Sounds like Jesse is just as active as Matthew. Sorry to hear about the situation you where in on Tuesday, I`m like you I don`t like feeding in public unless I really, really, really have to most of the time I go back to the car but at work I have to BF and it`s very uncomfortable like what you did with Jesse I give Matthew his solids early but it`s too early and he`s not very interested then I get a hungry baby, anyway I`d glad you had a good outing yesterday.
I`m trying to download some photos but for some reason the digital camera isn`t playing ball, got some great ones of Matthew sitting just now, I`ll let you all know when they are finally on the site :D
-
I'm taking Alex off to the doctors at lunch time as he is not himself. Went to get him weighed which he loves to have done and all he did was scream even after i gave him his bottle. He has red cheeks which are very dry and some spots on his foot. He's finally asleep in the pram at the moment as we walked to the clinic.
The nurse said it is normal for them to take less milk if they are feeding more but i have to be careful with Alex becuase of his kidneys and bladder infections as not feeding well is a sign something could be wrong.
Will do personals later when i have some more time.
-
Dee - i got the portacot out about 2 wks ago for him to have a play in - he seemed to enjoy it in there, you need to get them used to it, otherwise they won't have a bar of it. We are going away for a few days next week, so Jesse will need to sleep in it - so apart from letting him play in it every now & then, i have been putting him in the portacot to sleep for his morning nap .... the first day was a bit of a struggle, the next few days he was fine, went straight to sleep \:D/
Michelle - hope all goes well at the doctors .... will keep my fingers crossed for you
Jesse has started sucking his finger - the second last one - he sucks it every chance he gets, if he puts the little finger in by mistake he slides it out & puts the second last in .... is sooooo cute !!!
-
Rails - ohhhh!! @ Jesse sucking his second last finger. That is just gorgeous makes me go gooey thinking about how cute that is!
Michelle - i hope that all is ok with Alex.
Moof - id also be interested in your method!
Kate - hope you an excellent time away! I agree with the others that it is not selfish at all to want that day just for Kelsey. Its like someone asking if they can celebrate their birthday at your wedding! A bit silly of your MIL to ask i think. Hope your explanation goes down ok.
Brookey - the new photos are delicious!
Well i had hendy weighed today and his weight gain has also slowed. I guess its just normal at this stage for breastfed babes to not be too chubby??
