Wow Christy that is fantastic to hear about the naturopath, i too have strong believes in them but haven't been for some reason. I might go and take Felix to one to see what they think too!
We have had a busy day, went to pram push (first time in AGES..it was SOOO hot!!) then to my friend's house, then with her to her hospital appointment, and then picked up her son from school, her son (5 years old) LOVES Felix and he LOVES him..it's SO cute they sat in the back of the car and giggled together, I really hope it's like that when I have another child! I took him to have aftrenoon tea while his mum had her appointment! Felix ate heaps today! Always eats better when we are out!
-
Hiya Susan!! :D Great to see you around again!!!
Brandon sounds like he is doing really well, and keeping you busy too!!
LOL... well, I managed to clean my house yesterday (I think? all days are the same...), but now it is messy again!! #-o
Tonight was mine and DP's anniversary of being together for 2 years! He came home from work with a lovely bunch of flowers for me, and I was soooo happy, cause he is normally not the romantic type, and forgot our anniversary last year! So I cooked him of lovely dinner of chicken mignon, and bought him some imported beers to celebrate :)
Oh no Christy... I hope you and Matilda had a better day today! Going to a naturpath is a wonderful idea!!
My Nana (step-grandmother) is a Homeopath... I should really go and see her too, but have been out of contact for a few years..
I am looking forward to seeing you and Matilda tomorrow at playgroup! \:D/
Well done to Matilda for holding her own bottle! It certainly saves a lot of time doesnt it! Aidyn will hold his when lying down, but when he is sitting up he still hasnt learnt to tip it back, and he just sits there sucking on the air... :-s
He did about 5 crawling steps yesterday, so he is making progress! He doesnt do it often though... he is quite content to sit with his toys and not go off and explore.... yet!
Kathryn - how cool is that that Lachlan ate a sandwich!! What a big boy! :)
I tried to get Aidyn to do that with my sandwich today, but he's not really sure about biting peices off yet.
Katanya - I'm glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better about the b/fing...
How sweet to hear of Felix and his little friend loving each other so much, and giggling away!.. isn't is just gorgeous to see how our babies get along with older kids (Aidyn is the same with his 4yo cousin Jade)
Anyway... time for me to go and tidy again, as my cousin is picking me up early in the morning to take me and Aidyn to playgroup... and I wont let anyone in if the house is a pigsty! 8-[
-
Brandon will eat bits of my sandwich if I break it off for him. I don't know if he'd bite it, but I don't want baby slobber all over my lunch lol. I'm not sure he could bite bits off yet, as his tooth is on the bottom, with the next one coming next to it, and nothing to see on the top yet, though he does ok with chewing what I give him, and mashing the pear cubes he gets.

Hello ladies, thought I'd say hi. Hey Kellee I've just spend a week at sleep school (and Mitchell won!). It sounds like you are doing a great job with the sleep thing as you are doing the same sort of stuff they showed me. I go in to settle when I feel its right, so it's not timed. I was a bit worried about the rules being a bit regimented so was relieved! The time it takes to re-settle is about 20 mins max for me too, but it seems to get shorter. I'm only getting up once at about 3am, and I'll try to address that soonish as Mitchell is 8 months. He will never be a great day sleeper but now when I put him down day or night, the most we hear is a half-hearted squark and he's out like a light! Bed time is 7.30pm now, no later and I realise I was leaving him up too late before (8.30-9pm). It is so sweet!! Keep plugging away girls, I've been at it for about 5 weeks, and not having the nightly/daily bunfight (which I was losing!) has changed that colour of my day.!!
Hearing everyone loud and clear on the house issue. Ive got what I thoght was an O.K deposit, slogging my ass off for ages, but now I see I've still got a ways to go BUGGER IT. Down here, a fairly crappy place in a dreary suburb is upwards of $260k. Hell, 3 years ago that would buy you a palace. I could maybe affford it, but I'd be stuck with no money to fix it up, or buy a new frige when this one finally craps out.
I think I just find a new, nicer rental for a while so I don't feel so bloody depressed living in this crapper just to save money.
I think I should start trying not to say crap anymore!!

:smt039 Hi lulu!
and Susan I forgot to say how excited I was to see you around again  Brandon sounds like he's doing so well!
Well yesterday was a great day for Matilda... unfortunately today hasn't been as good... so far she's been up for 1 1/2 hours and then started rubbing her eyes & yawning so I was trying to settle her & she went feral... she's having a quiet time in the cot atm, but isn't screaming, she's talking to something... oh a dog's in there with her so she must be talking to her. So.. I want her to sleep a little bit so that she'll enjoy playgroup... :crossfingers: she won't be feral there!! :D
-
Morning girls. I think I will have feral boys on my hands later today too. They both never went to bed till 10pm cause we were out to dinner for my birthday.
Lachlan got his 4th tooth yesterday - Top Middle on his left hand side YAY
Christy - I responded to you in the National BB meet post in case you haven't seen it ;)
Lulu - Well done to Mitchell for winning at Sleep School =D>
Love
-
Well at least I know I'm not the only one with a sleep, and buying house delimah, it's very frustrating isn't it?
Ambah have a great time at the playgroup, after been isolated for ages it will be great for you too! I meet a few new mothers at the Pram Push and they were asking about things to join. I was going to join another playgroup but now I think I might wait till we move, and then look for a Mount Tambourine one! (If :crossfingers: )
Susan on the teeth thing, I have often wondered that myself, do they need the teeth to chew more difficult things?like sandwiches? I am thinking of changing what I am offreing Felix to cubed veges and maybe fish fingers or something and then putting his poly joule in a dessert (as I know he'll at least eat that) because my friend said her baby won't eat pureed stuff now either, maybe the problem is just that I have been feeding him and he wants to feed himself? he ate a water cracker yesterday and actually swallowed most of it!!
Lulu, sounds like the sleep clinic worked really well for you guys! Most days are fine for us, just lately I've been finding the feeding in spurts and resettling difficult. After a fed him a big amount last night and he would go to sleep I just came and out and annouce it was DP's turn now, he seems to have the magic touch (or maybe more patience at the end of the day than me)
I would say go for the fridge and the nice rental (we need a new fridge too the 2 shelves on the door just broke, and it's tiny and ours is only 4 years old) I think when we are able to have 2 incomes then it may be possible to buy. Life is about enjoying your kids and not stressing (my opinion) and for us right now for DP to work MORE and then to be tied up in a large morgage and fearful of interest rates is just NOT the point! Though since we want baby 2 in next year it maybe quite awhile yet!
Well Felix is marching when walked now, it is SO cute, he lifts up his little knees and steps around, he sits there with his arms up begging to be walked! No wonder he's sit caterpillar crawling! Though he did start pushing his legs under himself today, maybe we're heading for an all fours crawl yet??
-
Yay @ Felix walking along. Lachlan marches too, it is so cute. He is loving being able to pull himself up onto everything now, although he quite often does the splits if he stands there too long LMAO.
I should really get off this bloody computer my screaming headache from yesterday has returned. I took 3 nurofen to shake it yesterday and it worked, but only took 2 this morning. So will wait for a couple of hours and then take another 3 8-[
Love
-
oh yuck at the headache Kathryn... sorry I did see the post but DH & I didn't go online last night 8-[ I got home from puppy preschool & just collapsed... I got scared too and too a PG test because of the way I've been feeling & ever since Mel hinted I've been fearful.....its negative which is a huge relief for us at the moment... I'm still not convinced that Matilda needs a sibling, otherwise we'll be out there searching for houses too!!!
BTW on the housing thing... when we moved to QLD houses were around $150,000 that was only a few years ago! Now you couldn't find anything around that! We are so lucky we got ours under $200... just scraped in because withint 4 months it was well over that amount...& we would never be able to pay that sort of mortgage.
-
Thanks for the welcome guys!
I better point out that when I say Mitchell won at sleep school, I mean he beat them!! The nurses had to give up cos he was tougher!!!!
I wasn't prepared to force him into 2hr afternoon sleeps when its just not his scene. He was getting mighty shirty though, and not fun to be around, refusing to go to sleep at all. Instead he has three 45mins-hr sleeps. It doesn't leave much time for much else, but I'm hoping as he starts to crawl and stuff he will get a bit more tired.
Feeling better about not able to $$$$ house. You're right, you gotta live a little. I'm now giggling at the thought of us busting our butts trying to get a huge mortgage.!!! Decent rental, fridge and decent bloody couch coming my way. Bugger the stoopid deposit. (DP can't work until knee surgery, me only part time now)
Lulu
-
I must have taken so long to write that post this morning because both Christy AND Kathryn posted in between when i started, I usually start and then felix will wake up or want attention etc.. and it takes me awhile!!
kathryn hope that shocking headache improves how awful! it sounds more than the usual! 8-[
christy: wow you poor thing with the pregnancy scare, i am with you on the wait for more time between pregnancies, one's enough right now! hope matilda slept and playgroup went ok?
lulu: glad you have decided to enjoy life, i know owning a house is a big dream of mine too, but the thing is it can't come at the expense of everything else! glad you have decided to spnd abit and enjoy your life more!
well good news one of the houses i looked at today has possibilities! it is much smaller than our current house but still 3 bedrooms and has potential, i'm taking DP for a drive by tonight!
-
Hi everyone, been trying to get on and post for the last few days but I'm so dizzy and my vision has been so blurred everytime I jump on I can barely see the screen 8-[ Could just be tiredness... :crossfingers:
Thanks for the link Christy, and all the activity suggestions guys!
Kellee - Glad you found a great way to settle him that works for both of you. :luck: for better nights now too! Gymbaroo's great, they have all this equipment to climb on, through, swing on, etc. which they change around each week, plus we sing songs, do activities on the mat together and have a word theme for the week. Everything they do there is based on research and aimed on helping their development. From what you've said about Charlie and how active he is, I think it'd be great for him.
Big  Katanya! If it's any consolation, as mothers we all have times when we get frustrated and question whether we're doing the right thing or not. I've said it before but I really think you're doing an amazing job with Felix and coping with all the extra stress that his unknown condition, night feeding and lack of eating brings. I know how much harder it is when you're in limbo still and not sure which way you should go with things or when things will even be able to improve. Are you considering formula to see if that'll make him sleep through the night or to be able to have a break and have DP get up to him? If it's to help him sleep, I'm not sure it'd help anyway as I know other mums who've done that without success. In any case, you're the one BFing, it's your body, Felix is primarily your responsiblity and you have the right to make the decision that suits you and Felix the most and you should never feel guilty about what you decide.
Wow @ Felix walking!!! =D> Adara's still a long way from that!
With the teeth and eating sandwiches thing, Adara's been eating them since she was around 6mths, well before she had teeth. I just made sure that I fed her bite sized pieces and then she'd suck and squish it around her mouth like anything else.
Kathryn - :happybday:
Christy - I'm sorry, I hope I didn't put the idea of being pg in your head and stress you out more! It's just that before I read your post I'd only just finished saying to Andrew that I'm constantly exhausted still and it doesn't seem to be lifting much this time around so it was on my mind!
Ambah - So glad you didn't read my post the wrong way! I just like to make things clear when I'm posting b/c I think it'd be so easy to misinterpret things.
Gymbaroo is $135 a term, which works out to be $15 a class. I think it is on the pricier side of activities but I think it's still worth it. They let you watch a class first if you'd like to or, you can do what I did and sign up towards the end of a term so you only pay for the remaining classes left that you do and see if they like it. I have seen a whole heap of things you can do like singing classes, etc. in the Melbourne's Child Mag (I'm sure you guys would have something similar?) and I know there are cheaper things out there if it's too expensive.
Happy anniversary!!! :)
:smt039: Susan and Lulu!
Sorry for the epic post (again!) but it's been a while!!!! I'm sure I've forgotten stuff too... :)
-
just a quickie from me - what else is new LOL
I brought my night strength Mersyndol this arvo and it (the headache) was gone by the time i started actual shopping without the need for the mersyndol but at least i have some now. I was walking around with my sunglasses on this arvo to cut out some sunlight LOL.
Mel - Thanks for the b/day wishes. I spent the gift voucher the boys gave me. Got Collateral on DVD and brought a new purse =D>

Hey girls... guess what.... YOU ALL TALK TOO MUCH!!! How am I supposed to keep up?!?! LMAO j/k!!! ;) ;)
Aidyn went to his first playgroup today, where Christy and Matilda go! My cousin picked me up and drove us (her daughter is 2 weeks older than Aidyn) They had an AWESOME time! It is a music based playgroup called Mini Mozarts, and there was lots of singing and banging of sticks, tamborines and bells, etc... Aidyn has been exhausted for a lot of the afternoon due to it. It was so good for him, I cant wait to go again!
Oh yeah, and Christy saw him crawling too!! He never crawls that well when he is at home... I guess there is nothing he wants that much, but at Playgroup he had his eye on this lovely ball and kept following it around (until he decided that licking someone elses toes would be more fun, lmao!) He is doing it up on all fours too, I think it is easier for him than pulling all of his weight along the ground.
Kathryn - glad to hear that your headache is better and that you had a good time shopping :D
Christy - OMG about thinking you were PG... I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. Was convinced that although on the pill and getting normal periods, that I still could be pg... isnt it amazing how much you can convince yourself hey!!
Katanya - good luck with the house veiwing, I hope it is gorgeous!!
As for the teeth... Aidyn has 5, but I'm not so sure they assist him much more with chewing than having less teeth would. I gave him some avocado on little bread strips tonight, and he just mushed it around in his mouth and let it all sit there and build up, and then eventually spat it out, LOL. Oh well, he just needs to get used to it I suppose :)
SOOOoooo cute about the marching :D
Mel - Thanks for the info on Gymbaroo. Am definately thinking of adding something like that into Aidyns week as well... I would like him to have at least 2 outings a week that are just for him iykwim? Will be much easier to get to places though when we get our new car.
I hope you are feeling better and have gotten some rest, the dizzyness doesnt sound too good... I got that when I was pg, and usually needed to eat something or I would pass out, low blood sugar I think.
Lulu - LOL @ Mitchell beating Sleep school, what a stong willed little man!! Glad you have worked out what works for you though :)
IKWYM about 3am wake ups... For the past months or 2 Aidyn has been waking at around 4am nearly every morning... and I have no idea why!
Sounds like you will be getting lots of new goodies soon, good on you!! I agree, mortgages are so stressful!! We rent our house off DP's Mum, however DP has an investment property on the gold coast that we are paying off... and geeze it eats into the weekly budget (bloody negative gearing!)
-
Hi girls!! I had a pretty full on day today but just thought I'd stop by quickly! Matilda's been the best today YAY!!!
LOL at Mitchell beating sleep school! Matilda & I went to a week long one up here & the nurses kept saying we'll be seeing you girls in a few months, because when we left Matilida was only slightly more settled than when we arrived, but at least I gained heaps of confidence there.
-
We are moving to Mt Tamborine :cheer: yay!! Got our 3 bedroom house, it's smaller than our current one, but cheaper and it has a pot belly stove!! We move in 12 days so I might be not on here so much! I'll be pretty busy!
Mel: thanks for your thoughts, I think you are right the combined stress of Felix's illness, the night feeds and the fight to get weight on him added up, also the disapointment of not being able to afford our own house just yet. I realise it's not about the breastfeeding, I think I just wanted it to be all easier for once, and I was thinking about all the babies who go to sleep straight away and all night through and I just wanted that too. I know what you are saying about the fact it is my decision, but really I am happy DP said that because if he had have gone the other way and gone and bought the formula I might have regretted it later. Anyhow we are good for now!
Kathryn, I'm really glad the headache has gone(totally I hope) I can imagine how challenging having 2 young boys would be with a thumper of a headache! Your Bday presents sound great, so nice you got to splurge and get yourself something like that!
Ambah You ARE right we do talk too much, I pity the new people who join in and post once a week or something and then look and there's been a hundred posts in the meantime! Aidyn sounds like he had SO much fun at the playgroup, it sounds like a well run one, lots of stuff to do! That is very cool about the crawling, sounds like there is NO doubt he is indeed crawling
Christy that is fantastic that Matilda is having such a great day!! Hope it continues for you!!
got to go as felix is on my lap and trying everything to kick and grab the keyboard!!!!!!!
-
Woohooo at getting a house Katanya. That is fantastic !! and yes my headache is totally gone now as well :D I think it may have been a bit of eye strain as well, cause i looked at the computer for like 5 mins last night and I could feel pain behind the eye, so I SHOULD really wear my glasses on the computer LMAO 8-[ Need eye re-checked anyway, but don't have the $$$ if I need new glasses which i would cause of the stratches in them
Love
-
Hi there! Pretty full on day but Matilda was a star yesterday =D> & fell asleep on the way home so no need for settling YAY!!!
Went to work this morning & now off to have a nap because Matilda's asleep.... :-$
-
I had an u/s yesterday and IT'S A BIG HEALTHY BABY BOY!!!! :smt026 \:D/ I know that most of you are moderators here and already know anyway but I'm still just so excited I wanted to tell everyone! :)
Kathryn, glad you got some great pressies! I don't know how you cope getting such horrible migraines all the time... :( I'm with you on needing new glasses, my eyesight has kept getting worse during both pgs but I don't see the point on getting new glasses when I have no idea whether my eyesight will improve again later or not. I'm probably just making sure I do need em later though by straining them like this all the time!!! :)
Ambah - your playgroup sounds great! I'd been thinking something like that with musical instruments would be a good idea and Adara loves all that sorta stuff. LOL at the toe licking!
Christy, sounds like you've had a good few days with Matilda! :)
Katanya, great news about the house! I love pot belly stoves! GOOD LUCK moving with such short notice and a bubba ARGH!!!! :luck: Glad to hear you're feeling better about things again.
-
YAY Congratulations on your BOY! Mel thats fantastic news!!
-
Oh Mel! a HUGE congratulations on your little boy :boy: :confetti: you are very lucky getting a pidgeon pair! We would like a girl next, but obviously would be happy for a healthy little boy too! Of course then I will have another baby to wear all the clothes Felix has aquired!
Kathryn:glad to hear your headaches have gone, no good about the need for new glasses and no funds :(
Christy sounds like Matilda is having some great days for you, so glad you've been able to get some rest! Have you been to the Dr's yet? Feeling better on the iron tablets?
I have been packing like a mad thing today and aquiring boxes etc..It is hard because Felix needs entertaining and will only play happily on his own for a limited time, we went around to my mum's to get some more boxes and she offered to have him in the mornings so I can get more done. Felix was really hungry tonight at dinner and ate a chicken and corn baby food, and nearly all of a fruit custard with poly joule..it was great, when you actually sit down and offre it not to get crying and shaking of the head!
Oh and he is starting to really recognise things by name now, we saw my Mum's partners dog and I said "where's the puppy?" and he looked for her! V exciting!
-
Thanks for the congrats! :D Yeah, I just realised about the whole new wardrobe thing... Then I remembered how much cheaper a boy will be in the long run and I stopped caring about the baby clothes!
Katanya - Great he ate so well! Hopefully he'll keep it up now :crossfingers: What a clever little boy you are, Felix! =D>
When I found out that Adara was a girl I got a book for DH to 'choose' the sex of your baby, b/c we'd decided 2 kids was enough for us and next baby would be his last chance for a son after 2 girls. Obviously we never got to use it and never will so we'll prob just end up throwing it out... If anyone would prefer to try for a boy / girl next time, I'll happily send it to you :) Just seems like such a waste to throw it away! The theories are based on the best time to BD according to when you ovulate, depending on which you want.
Adara's stopped pointing to things and saying 'ess' (yes) to ask for them and started saying 'ta'. Much better manners, thank you missy! :)
-
O.M.G........ This crawling this is insane!!
- Aidyn can chase the cat now, and wets himself in excitement doing so (I swear!)
- He has been in and around the fireplace #-o
- He is pulling himself up onto his knees and has started pulling stuffing out of one of my armchairs. #-o
- He find my shoes and licks them!!
- He is always pulling the Yellow pages on top of himself then getting trapped.
- Loves pulling the door stopper off.
Anyway... the list goes on and on....
But at the same time it is really cute to see him crawling around :D
I will have to reply to personals tonight, Dodo has not been letting me on, so I am way behind!
-
WOW crazy, hey its his third day isn't it? Hmmm that just confirms my theory of third day of crawling madness!!
-
Mel That is great about that book, if it was up to me we'd be doing that next time, but DP has a thing about letting things happen naturally, and if we are meant to have a girl we will  so if we get another boy its' all his fault!
I am glad neither of us really care about sex, I actually would like a little girl for him, because he works with children and I have seen how he has a soft spot for the little girl, and a daughter would really suit him. I don't mind either way myself, I thought I wanted a girl when pregnant with Felix but now I love having a boy! So why not 2? i have met lots of women who had 3 (all boys) just to try to get a girl and they feel they have missed out and talk about how all they wanted was alittle girl in front of their poor boys!
Ambah: That is SO cute with Aidyn, he sounds like he has finally found his knees!! Felix has been pulling his knees under and straightening his arms, but it is more to pull himself up, rather than all fours crawling, he was in a box this morning and pull himself up totally from sitting REALLY fast, and he can climb me too. He seems to be happy commando and of course walking is his new favourite thing, he can nearly run with holding hands, he LOVES it, and looks abit like a giggling marching duck!
Christy: yup I think your theory is right, it takes them a 2 days to work out what's going on and then whoosh off they go!
Here are some photos of Felix in the box if anyone is interested!
-
Yayy!! Mel for your boy!!! You will have a lot of fun together!!
Ambah- LOL on the crawling updates!, man I gotta move before Mitchell starts. The carpet here is atrocious. Playgroups are SOO good. Glad you are enjoying them.
We went to the Aquarium today, Mitchell went right off and was talking to ALL the fish. Now we're all stuffed and both kids are shirty. Could only get Isabelle into a good mood by giving her my hot X bun. EARLY TO BED you little terrors!
Kathryn, my eyes have got bloody terrible again with this pg, I just cannot drive without my glasses which is a pity cos I lose them 3x a day. They do improve when pg is over though. Mine scratched to hell but if I scrape up the $$ for new pair will lose them exactly one week later.
-
Ambah - Aidyn got the hang of it all very quickly! What is it about babies and toes? I have to wear closed toe shoes when Adara's on the loose b/c she chases them everywhere! If I have polish on, forget it!
Katanya - Just thought I'd offer as none of my friends will be having babies anytime soon (not planned ones anyway!) and our bookshelves are overflowing, especially since I had to clear out the bottom shelf thanks to bubba. I also believe in letting things work out naturally as IMO you get the babies you're meant to have and when you're meant to have them. Although he would've been happy with another girl, he really wanted 1 boy outa 3 which I can understand. I also think he's much better suited to having little girls and that he'll understand that special look they have just for him a whole lot more when he has a boy IYKWIM?
That is so sad they'd say that infront of their boys!
Love the photos, such a cheeky monkey! :)
Lulu - I noticed you were pg last time but I just checked your dates and I'm pretty sure our kids are going to have exactly the same age gap! Amazing! Is this pg A LOT more painful for you too? The midwife told me I just need to accept that it will be b/c it's too soon. And, another Melbourne-ite YAY!!! I got so used to all the QLDers here, good to see a local! Where abouts are you? (Don't answer specifically if you don't want to) I'm in Mulgrave.
Sounds like the kids had a great time at the aquarium! I'm sure it must've been a huge day for them, hope you didn't have too much trouble at night. We haven't been yet but were planning on going sometime soon when my DSD's over on the weekend.
Wow, I can chat a lot about not much! :-$ Better go now...
-
Katanya - CONGRATS on finding your house!!!! Mt Tamborine is such a beautifful area, you are so lucky!!! :D :D
Goodluck with all of your packing... its so stressful isn't it, especially with very limited time...
Those photos of Felix are really cute, looks like he loves that box! :)
Mel - Congrats again on having a beautiful Boy!!
How sweet the Adara is saying 'ta' now :)
Lulu - sounds like you had a great time at the aquarium, how cut for Mitchell to be chatting away to the fish!
-
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Aidyn was in the wars a bit yesterday.
My little sister was watching him (or meant to be) whilst I was hanging up the washing, and he crawled over to our pedestal fan and started tugging on the electrical cord, and managed to yank it on top of himself! Its a fairly heavy fan... poor boy, he wasn't too hurt, just got a small bruise. But sooo silly!
I'm soooo annoyed right now. He fell asleep not even 20 mins ago, and now he is awake again... I didn't even get a chance to have a shower... #-o
-
Hi Girls
I have been MIA a bit. I was laid up all day yesterday with a shocking migraine. I am going to have to go onto progesterone tablets to prevent them since it is AF related. Will wait till next time I have to see the doctor though. Still have the headache but will survive.
Anyway just gave Lachlan is first hair cut =D> He had long bits over his ears so I just cut them off.
Love
-
Hi Mel! yay, I'm down the road in Bayswater. Actually I've noticed quite a few of us live here!
Oh the bloody pain all over again!!! Its mainly because I was just starting to get my brain/body/boobs back and here we go again.!
The night we conceived again I said to DP, you know I just don't think I could handle another pg yet. We had planned to have a February baby this time, thinking the timing would be about right.
I've spent the past few weeks being petrified about how I'm going to do this whole thing again, but starting to really like the idea now, and I'm dying to meet this next one!
I still have those last couple of weeks of being unbearably uncomfortable etched into my mind. YUK, YUK YUK! Reflux was so bad that I used to wake up choking. CHARMING!
I'm a lot happier now I have booked into the Birth Centre at the Angliss, I didn't know it was there before. I can have a waterbirth this time too!!
Once this all consuming tiredness goes away (fingers crossed), I'm sure I'll feel lots better.
Now you can see why I went to sleep school with Mitchell!!
Astrolady, biggest hugs and I hope the migraines get lost soon. I don't know how you handle it. :)
-
I don't know how you girls are doing it being PG and with little ones... wow I'm so impressed. I've been so tired and exhausted & I had such a hard time in my first trimester last time & the last few weeks! WOW... I hope you have heaps of support!
Kathryn its good to see you around! I hope the "migrane fuzz" clears quickly! I used to take a day or two just to get over the fuzz. Thats cute on giving Lachlan a hair cut... I read that he had long bits over his ears so I just cut them off and I was thinking you cut his ears at first #-o ... LOL
Oh Ambah I hope Aidyn settled again for you! Matilda did the same thing and is in her cot singing at the moment... yuck... ouchies on the fan!
katanya - its getting quiet without you :D I hope packing is going well... and felix is so cute in the box!
Matilda's not been so fantastic today, but thats okay because we had 3 fantastic days in a row... now if she would just sleep more...
Ok... I just went to a homeopath because I'm tired of being so exhausted all the time and I just wanted something natural to work at... and the Dr said bloods were generally normal for me... so I was going to the homeopath to pick up some natural medicine for Matilda... the vaccinations stuff I've mentioned before... and anyway we got to talking about me & now I'm on some potion to give my body a bit of a kick start. It was $12 but I said I'd give it a go and see how I went. If it works it will be cheaper than a coffee a day...LOL and I've been having 3 a day to stay awake lately...

LMAO @ cutting of Lachlan's ears Christy. That gave me a good laugh.

Hey All,
I have been missing for a while as my hard drive died and I had to wait for DH to fix it. All is good now.
It is good reading about how all the babies are advancing into small children now.
Shayla now has both of her bottom front teeth and is currently getting both of her top teeth. She has a viral throat infection at the moment and she is not a happy chappy, poor little thing she is usually such a bubbly energetic baby and now she can't really be bothered. Don't blame her tho9ugh cause I feel the same when I am sick.
In other news she now is a lot more confident in her balance and will stand in the one spot not holding onto anything turning in circles watching me as I do the house work. She is also up to walking about 6 steps unaided. She could probably do more but is still using things for a little support.
Shayla can also now say mum, dad and ta. She waves goodbye to people and claps her hands. She is growing up way to fast.,

Wow Clare, Shayla is such a star!! Thats fantastic... how cute doing circles!

Can I just say... you all must be SuperMums... how on earth do you get a chance to write on here so often?! I can't keep up with you all... anyway...
Charlie is FINALLY eating 'properly'. He loathed Farex, so we gave up on that, but he loves pumpkin. Any ideas on what I should introduce next? He's also sleeping better at night, and settling himself better through the day, but his day sleeps aren't very long - what is 'average'? Sorry for all the questions, but I am new at this mothering caper.
DH has been home from work the last two days (SDOs), so I won't know myself when he goes back to work tomorrow. Anyway, bub needs a drink, so must go! Hope I can visit more regularly from now on!

Hi everyone, I shouldn't here as I still have LOADS of packing to do, but since Felix is finally asleep and I feel like Cr#p I thought I'd unload on you all ;)
We went swimming yesterday, because I didn't want him to miss out, and he got SO cold he went blue, and screamed and screamed till I took him into the sunshine, then he wouldn't eat (normally eats truckloads afte swimming) slept for 3 hours (got lots of packing done yay!) and so I took him to the shops to get valentines picnic stuff, and when we got home I notice he looked very pink, I put him on the floor in the kitchen to put stuff in the fridge and he lost it! I took him and BF him and took his temp..was 38.8 and rising, so I took him into have a cool shower and BF him again, he was still going when DP came home, we gave him panadol, and his temp after dropping after the shower continued to soar to 39.14, so back into shower, and put fan on him..eventualy got it down to about 38.5, he just fed continiously for 2 hours straight, and was all listless and getting a rash from heat..needless to say our plans for Valentines Day were dashed! Eventually asleep at about 7:30, we ate our gormet picnic food infront of the TV! All night woke up crying and hot, I was stressing, took him for showers every couple of hours.
Anyhow went to Dr today and he's got red tonsils, I feel yuk too..he has BF'd like a manic all day. One good thing is he has been eating like a starving child and I am really happy because it might mean a growth spurt (he's 9 mths today) Bad news at Drs she read the specialist report and apparently the chest xray was not normal as I previously thought, which means the same outcome, but I was kind of hanging on to that as a positive.
Wow sorry epic post!! Well Christy you did say it was quiet without me ;)
Lulu The aquarium sounds so great, gorgeous about Mitchel talking to the fish: I know Felix would love something like that, the only aquarium here is Seaworld and that is really expensive to get in just and he's still a little too young for anything else!
Mel: after saying that about DP, he has said No charting etc, but I am going to chart just for my own informations sake, and because i want to expereince it after Felix being here unexpectedly! Is that method the "shellings"method? because there is a gilr in the Qld thread using it?
Ambah: ah!! how scary with the fan, that has nearly happened so many times with felix, but I know how much he likes it,so I watch him..how awful for your sister!
Kathryn: hope you get the Migrane thing sorted, you definately don't need that sort of thing while trying to take care of two little boys! I have to cute Felix's hair too, I'll try not cut his ears off ;) LOL @ Christy
Christy: good luck with the Homeopathic remedies, i bought the Brauers colic remedy for my friend Sabiene and sent it to belgium today, was it you that recommended it to her? If your boost tonic works for you I might investigate it! Wonderful to hear Matilda's great days have been happing more and more!!
Wonderwoman: Sounds like Shayla has got a smilar thing to Felix, not fun for them is it? That is amazing about her walking so much already, she sounds like a clever little girl!
Kellee:Not sure about supermums being able to post so much, more like bad housewife! I leave the cleaning second to belly Belly during Felix's naptime! On the what to try next what about sweet potatoe, I found Felix really enjoyed that, also tryavocado, zuchini, potato, brocali, peas, and then move to fruits, banana, apples, pears, etc..as for sleeps..ahh not a good time to ask me, but on a "good " day he'll sleep about 1-1.5 housr in the morning and about the same in ther afternoon, but every baby is different, so don't comapre them on that one!

URgh at the high temps Katanya. It isn't nice is it. Thankfully we have been okay with Lachlan so far, but Kameron has pushed 40c a few times cause of ear infections. Hope he is feeling better soon.

Ambah - Don't you hate it when stupid things happen when other ppl are meant to be watching them? I've realised now that even if somebody else is meant to be watching, I still need to watch over or take away dangerous stuff anyway. Hope he wasn't hurt too much by it.
Kathryn - really hope the progesterone helps you! I've only ever had a couple but I'm an absolute mess for ages with a migraine. They really knock you out, I don't know how you keep going with your boys with them all the time!
Lulu - Sorry, I just meant in this thread there's heaps of QLDers. I know I'm the same, I'm so excited about this baby yet at the same time finding it hard to get over the fact that I only just ran this marathon and won. I've been through a few different stages with it that come and go - guilt for Adara, fear of having 2 babies, absolute joy over the gift I'm giving them (hope they see it like that anyway!), excitement and even fear of having a newborn again and knowing what to do with him! :smt102 The thing I'm finding the weirdest ATM is, even though I remember Adara's pg like it was yesterday, nothing is the same this time around. I couldn't imagine a more different pg if I tried to!
I booked into a birthing centre to have a water birth too! I found water helped more than anything else last time. Also, DH and Adara can stay with us in private room this time which is important to me.
When I first fell pg I was BFing Adara still and lost all my milk, so she was waking up hungry every hour for a couple of months until I found a formula she'd drink... I know what it's like to panic about getting them to sleep better before the next one arrives! It's so hard not sleeping properly in the 1st tri, I really hope he gets easier for you soon.
Christy - hope the homeopathic stuff picks you up a bit. Did you end up going to the Dr yesterday?
Clare - Shayla's amazing with the walking in circles! =D> Hope she gets better soon!
Kellee - Adara hated rice cereal too until I started to add steamed apple or pear puree to it, you could try that or just the fruit alone, a lot of babies love the sweetness of fruit. It's all just trial and error though :) With the sleeps 'they' do give outlines on number of day naps and the length but I think your baby will just sleep as much as he needs to, personally. Adara still sleeps heaps, 12hrs at night and 2 x 1.5-2hr sleeps during the day but that is way more than any other baby I know! (Takes after mummy!) There's babies here that don't sleep very much at all.
Katanya - How scary that must've been with Felix! Atleast he's eating more now and not less. Sorry, very ditzy... What does that mean with the x-ray?
No, it's the Shettles method. To sum up a 200 page book in a sentence - girl's swim slower but live longer so BD just before you O, for a boy at the exact time or just after you O. Well it's a lot more than that but that's what I picked up....
I swapped my website from Adara's to the baby's and uploaded some new belly pics... if you want to see the difference in my size btn 1st time around and 2nd - I'm 18wks pg in the wedding photo and 20wks in the new photo.

Wow Katanya, you and I could compete in an 'epic-post-a-thon'!!!! ;)
