6 Months to 12 Months, January '05

I have tried giving him a drop of Ribena in water but he doesnt like it... doesnt like any juices for that matter which seems a little strange, LOL!
I definately do not want to get into the habit of feeding him at 2am though... I just dont know what else to do atm... I hope it stops soon... I am giong to try and feed him as much as he will possibly eat before he goes to bed tonight, and give him his solids later as well, maybe that will make a difference.
Anyway, I have to get back to him now... he is a very cranky and sooky boy today :(

Ohh must be the day for it Ambah. I have two very cranky and sooky boys as well. I ended up giving Lachlan a dose of panadol to settle him down as he has been grizzly for a few days but no sign of top teeth yet.

Kameron had just done everything possible to infuriate me. But atm he is being good and sitting down reading a story to his bird.

I just gave Matilda some panadol too! & put her in the cot for some time to settle down as her crankiness over the last 2 hours has gotten to me...

She's definately teething, but no signs of the little buggers....grrr

Notes: Bianka was thirteen days late, I was taken to the hospital to get induced. I went into labour at 3pm, around 4.30pm I had the gas and then I fell asleee cause all I can remember around 5.30pm they were saying I needed the epidural I got it and fell asleep while getting it, then at 6pm I woke up and they were saying i needed a top up as I was screaming I said no and started to push and said I'm pushing and they just let me go for it. She came out 54.5 cms long and 9 pound 15 ounces big.

Wow, Bianca sure was a big girl when she was born, and so long too!! The midwives thought Aidyn was long (53cm), but Bianca beats him hands down! ;)
How are you finding it, coping with 4 kids under 4 years of age?? It must be a real handful, I admire you so much, I have enough troubles with just 1 atm! LOL!

Ambah I have meet a little boy born 78 cms..no joke! He was the longest baby born in the Gold Coast Hospital since the 70's ! I don't know what is going on tonight every post I have tried to make has glitched.. [-o< this one works!

Okay now I feel better everything is working again! Leanne, i am totally in awe of the spacing of your children! I am too scared to even have 2 that close together!! What are your evenings like??

O..M..G!! 78cm!!! That is taller than Aidyn is now!! I mean HOW?? LOL

I have had a terrible night trying to get Aidyn to sleep, he has just dropped off now...we started trying at 8pm! It takes us 2+ hours every night and it is really wearing me out... all I wanted to do tonight was dye my hair, which I cant do until Aidyn is in bed & asleep obviously. I just dont know how to settle him anymore, he cries and cries... he isnt happy sleeping on his back, or side OR tummy, he can't settle himself usually either... I'm beginning to think I have done everything wrong... but I just can't leave him to scream for longer than say 5 minutes - I physically can't do it... :help:

Anyway, I am off to dye my hair now...

oh Ambah big :hug: ! Its so hard to settle them at night! Matilda takes longer at night, always... but we're now down to 20 minutes... Thank goodness!! But you haven't done everything wrong!! Its really hard for them because they are changing right now too, going from one way of doing things to another at this age... so your instincts have done so well he'll figure out what he likes, and then you can help him get to sleep and it won't take as long! Good luck!

Well...we had friends over last night & it did take Matilda ages to get to sleep, mainly because DH usually does it but he was too busy chatting to pay the attention to her that she needs at that time of night... ](*,) so what was supposed to be my night off turned into a settle fest... so instead of our normal 20 minutes I was with her for 45!! Grrr... but the other thing is that DH did everything throughout the night & I woke up at 6.40 and she is still asleep!!OMG!! Straight to BB! :)

Thankfully after all of our drama's settling Aidyn lastnight, he had a great sleep and didnt wake once or want a feed or anything. Maybe its because I stuffed him full of dinner later than usual, and he ate moer than usual.

I'm sure you are right Christy, as everything is changing with him so much now... I just hope he figures out what he wants, SOON! ;)

We were in middle of nowhere last night and had a very cranky baby. Finally found a supermarket still open in a country town and got some bonjela. Put that in Lachlans mouth and he was asleep 15 mins later. Still no sign of those teefers though

just put a bandaid on it and let it heal naturally


lachlan always gets blisters on his toes from pushing himself along commando crawling and he had a huge blister across his hand when he touched the hot oven.

](*,) she's just pulled off the third bandaid & popped the blister in her last attempt & then was sucking on it, but doesn't seem to disturbed so I think I'll leave it O:)

:cry: wasn't me I swear!!! Just after I write about how long it takes Matilda to settle, she's screamed for hours in my arms today to only sleep 20 minutes & wake up screaming again ](*,) I just wound up crying with her before and she finally went to sleep so I layed down & now the phones been ringing off the hook! ](*,)

Urgh Christy. I hate that, and I can never take the phone off the hook if I do lay down in case it is an emergency. I was nearly crying with Lachlan myself today. Bonjela would help for 10mins and panadol was having no affect. He has finally fallen asleep with half a drunk bottle in his hands, so just cooking tea then i will wake him to give him a bath then he can goto bed

wow what is it with today?? my boy has had some ugly swollen gums too, and I have turned the whole upside down trying to find Bonjella, ended up giving him panadol and he was a bit better..just grumpy and refusing to sleep this end too..finally got him to sleep for arvo nap at 4:30pm and then he woke up sceaming when the girl I look after on weekends was being dropped off, then just in a foul mood till he finally got to sleep at about 7:15 !!!

POOR Matilda! Wonder where that Blister came from, can imagine it would have been a big shock!! I am sure it will heal fine though Christy!!

I would love to join you in a big glass of wine too Christy, only we don't have any and I am alone tonight as DP is working all weekend (bit sad if I start drinking alone ;) ), so I have 2 kids alone and 1 teething!!! AHHH!!!

Ahhhhh finally asleep after another 1.5hrs of screaming blue bloody murder !! I just had to put him in his cot, with a teething ring and let him deal with it. Ran out of baby panadol earlier so I couldn't give him more.

To me though it looks like the tooth next to his middle teeth at the top is the most swollen, and he doesn't have his middle top teeth yet :-k Lets hope after all the noise for the last week, he cuts a couple in quick succession.

Kathryn Felix got his tooth next to the middle top a couple of weeks ago and now one of the middle ones looks like it is coming through..big :hugs: to you and I'm sending good night sleep vibes to poor Lachlan..hope that tooth comes through soon!

Matilda finally went to sleep at 9.30pm!!! GRRRRR.... then we drank the bottle of wine! LOL! But she slept (or maybe we slept through her...) until 5am for a feed & back to sleep until 7.20am!! oh I could get used to waking up after 6am!!

So far so good here today as well. Lachlan slept from just before 9pm through to 7.30am, but he probably was up earlier i just didn't hear him over the noise the bird was making. Our ****ateil decides 7am is a lovely time to start sqwaking and wont' stop till i drag my arse out of bed #-o

Aidyn probably is going through a growth spurt, Ambah. I heard that babies have spurts at 6wks, 3mths, then every 3mths after that until they're 12 or 18mths old, can't remember which. Seemed to be true for Adara.

Christy, love your Avatar! Ambah and Katanya, I meant to say that to you too but with my preggy brain I've forgotten heaps that I've had to say lately! I want one too now!

Adara has always been a really cheeky character and full of life trying to make us laugh, etc. but now she's getting older it's getting to be sooo much more! Today I was hugging her in really close while giving her a bottle and half way through she decided she didn't want anymore but I kept hugging her close to me. Sorry if this is TMI but as it was morning and hot, I was still naked. All of a sudden, she looks at my nipple with this really cheeky grin and DIVES at it! Just as her mouth hit, she stopped, looked up at me, giggled and jumped to standing to hug me around my neck! It was so funny, she obviously just wanted to scare me the little bugger. She knows they're out of bounds now as she'd tried to play with them with her hands before. After that she kept bobbing down to pretend again, then jumping up and laughing with me. So cute!

And I'm still a bit in shock and can't quite believe this one.... Yesterday she did her usual sneak behind the TV to grab at the plugs when she thought I wasn't looking, so I said my usual firm "Adara, no". She turned to look at me, smiled and said "esss", giggled and kept going!!!! :shock: I can only assume she means yes, as she's been saying it constantly since then when she wants a toy or is pointing at something she wants. What a little bugger!!! :smt018

I guess you guys were right about her talking but I never really considered it until you said it!!! I just thought that it'd be a lot clearer and that she'd start with babble first...

GUESS WHAT

I was holding lachlans hands above his head today and he started taking steps really slowly at first so I got a tighter grip and walked behind him holding his hands and he was walking along doing full proper steps the whole knee bent action and all and he then tried to pick up pace.

So i gave him the walker (that you walk behind) and he took 3 small steps behind that. I reckon within a couple of weeks and practice he will walking behind the walker 8-[

LOL at Adara..what a cutie!!! Felix plays grabs the nipple and pull s too with a huge cheeky laugh, unfortunately I am still trying to teach him that nipples are for food, not toys! Can't ban them yet!!
Yes mel Adara is DEFINITELy talking, she has just skipped the noraml boring bits and gone straight for the meaningful stuff. Felix is just a babbling boy, he talks to anything, unfortunately in the car he practices his screams!!
Felix has somehow managed to work out that shaking your head means no, and of course everything is "no" now [-( especially food, and try getting extra food into a mouth that is shaking!!

Kathryn wow Lachlan is doing well!! Felix can step now too if we hold his hands and behind the toy car, but can't pull himself up on everything though, just the things close enough. Started exploring the rest of the house today, crawling around the tiles, and chasing lizards (our house is an creepy crawly paradise) it was so cute, he crawled in the room where the girl I look after was watching her videos and sat at the door just staring at her..it is SO funnyhe way he gets more and more interactory with her each time she comes, she just ignores basically ignores him, I don't think he understands why she doesn't smile at him back!

I am very excited I just when to the shops and found a Felix the cat top in my size(18) I'm so happy as all I have seen were tops for skinner bodies and So i bought 2 in different colours, DP will be VERY jealous, I have never seen them in Mens unfortunately!

I am enjoying my time on the computer as Felix is watching a Video and Adala(girl I look after) is watching a video, and then when Felix wakes up we're going swimming!

Katanya - that is amazing about Felix stepping too!! Aidyn is just getting the strength now to be able to bear his body weight on his legs... yet most babies I know have been doing it since they were really little!

The past 2 nights have been good with Aidyn, he has slept through until around 6am without waking, then has a bottle and goes back to sleep until 8am usually. He is also settling into his cot a tad easier I *think*... he is screaming and protesting less :crossfingers: Now to just get him to settle without me being there for a whole hour, or more...

Mel Just looked at Adara's site..wow So much personality!!LOVE that pic in the box, and the mischeif one AND the carpet burn on the knees! I have to say compared to Felix she is chubby! And YOU look like one of those Avatar dolls ;) I quite like the fact that my online self is slender and able to wear pink pants that I wouldn't fit one thigh in!! But you actually look like that!
yep Adala is Autistic, she is 12 in many ways but loves the wiggles ;)
Adala is pronouced exactly the same way(with the "L"), and is a BEAUTIFUL name, and suits her she is a stunning looking child, non verbal with enormous aqua green eyes and olive skin. I must say I looked at similar names but since she is like one of the family couldn't call a another child something similar. We call her Dala for short..

Love the photos too Mama Mel too cute. Chrissy is so gorgeous, and Ooer at your Jeep Cherokee pram. I nearly brought one exactly the same the other week LMAO.

Matilda woke up today, was only up for an hour & went back to sleep... now we have to wake her up to go to swimming... #-o but thats fine with me!!!

DH had such a blast taking Matilda swimming, and there were all dads there today...it was good because in the car park next door to the swimming complex is a huge farmer's market so I went to the market & got heaps of fresh food & then when I got back they were finished swimming...nice HOT but nice

Wow... I just have to say that the last few days with Aidyn have been phenomenal... its like someone has clicked the 'on' switch in his brain to 'full on'!! He is just into everything... clapping, waving and he has just gotten sooo intelligent all of a sudden. He is also only a couple days away from full on crawling, he did 2 forwards crawl steps on all fours today (he can do backwards really well)
And it is like he is so excited by all of these changes in him, that he doesn't need or want to sleep as much anymore... so my sleepy little boy has gone. He has only had 2 x40min naps today instead of 3 or 4x hour long ones. He is sitting up from lying down really well, and has just gotten the hang of his body so much... (so much so that he wont lie down to sleep anymore, argh!!) It is just amazing to watch him grow like this!
No wonder he has been so hungry... his little brain and body are burning so much extra energy now.
