Hi Grubi...keep trying, you'll get there (with the solids!). I read somewhere (years ago when I was studying I think), that on average, a child needs to be offered something 10 times before they will have more than just a taste of it....you may find that if you decide on one thing (for us it was the rice cereal), and just keep going with that every day, eventually she'll take to it. I changed brands of rice cereal, and Benjmain took to it right away after that, and we haven't looked back...
As for the poos, its most likely either teething, or the solids....Benjamin has had formula poos since 3 months (:() very sad about that but lets not dwell....and his changed with both teething and solids (and now with antibiotics!) perfectly normal....solids poos do stink though!

Sorry MIA, my NEW kitchen is FINALLY getting installed. So there is alot of dust everywhere. Alone with kitchen stuff. It is amazing how much junk I could find in 4 cabinets. Anyway new hugh kitchen is almost in, only a few things left. Sparkie comeing tonight to look at Over and cook top then I will be away. Oh we have to wait about 3 weeks for benchtop, but joiner has laid some white board on top to use as a bench top until ours is ready. Will post few pics when done. It's only been 3 years waiting. See ladies NAGGING does pay off....
Grudi: Sorry that I didn't beat you on to tell everyone you computer ahd crashed. so will do now... EVERY ONE GRUBI WAS AWAY DUE TO PC PROBLEMS, HOWEVER WILL RESLOVE ASAP.
* Oh also on the eating thing, Wyatt has only just stated eatting more now. Rice cereal, he has on night, have was waking 3-4 times a night, so yesterday we gave him is FIRST banana, with a bab of honey, and he eat it all, then SLEPT ALL NIGHT. So look out will try again for today.
Wyatt, is sort of camndo crawling. Which looks really funny. But he gets where he needs to go, in a fashion. He's got the attention on a aint. Goes for a ball, then realise there sumthing different then goes for say a car, which is also normally closer.
How is everyone else doing? DD had her 10th birthday party, and my parents are down. My big sister decided it would be nice for them to extend their stay and rest, as our mum had surgery back in Sept. But when we were done there the other day, she was pulling out her DD out of day care to stay with parents. So parents are trying to put it off as long as possible to go down there. ATM they are staying with DH Granny. So they get a break from kids.
Anyway I better go, I got a mountian on washing to do, before workmen get here. Am using laundry sink to wash dishes up ATM but I got no where to put dished when I dry up. They are all on lounge room floor in tubs ATM.
Anyway hope all your bubba are doing fine. Will try and get back on more, but seem Wyatt is moving more, not as easier when he was little... Ge our baby's are growing up... Time for another one. Anyone thinking of it yet??? I am but will wait till Wyatt is at least 1.

BWI knew that solid food poos would smell, but even in the days I wasn't giving any solids they were stinky... must be teething.. the sleep pattern suggests it is as does the red tongue from rubbing on her gum.
Sarah Thanks for trying to post for me ;) I just grabbed what I could get to replace the PC, the withdrawls were worse than a drug addict's :lol:
It is definitely getting quite now, guess because the little ones are more active or demanding.
Time to take DS to daycare back later

BabyWrangler the next time i'm at maccas or somewhere I will quote that one, i'm pretty sure they would heat the food/bottle up for me then!
alittlegrubi both Anthony and Jordan hated tummy time and I did eventually give up and I got them both walkers, now they NEVER stayed in them all day like some mothers do, and I also taught them to sit up on the floor so at least that way they could then play with toys while sitting up. LOL at the poos though, that is how Oliver has been since we came home, and they definitely stink even more now that he is on solids.
sarah that's great news about your kitchen, about time I bet your saying. That's great that Wyatt is now kind of crawling, what a clever boy, Oliver hates banana's. Also I read somewhere that paediatricians etc don't recommend giving honey to baby's under 12 months old because it can contain botulisum (I think that's what it was), has anyone else heard of this. Just thought I would mention it in case you didn't know.
Oliver is going great with his mums and bubs swimming lessons, and today while we where driving home, he was distinctly saying dadadada over and over again. Still no teeth, but I feel certain they aren't far away.

Sharonhave been looking on Ebay for a walker and a jolly jumper to help.
Have discovered she just hates being on her tummy. That is if I elevate her tummy off the floor but leave her legs and arms on the floor she is okay. She was moving like she was walking when she was being held yesterday.
She goes to daycare 3 days a week as of next month so they will make sure she has more of the things she needs.
Getting small amounts of solids in, but not a lot. Yoghurt was the easiest, but not sure it was good for her. Doesn't like weetbix or rice cereal at all. Sweet potato and pumkin were relatively easy, but only for a couple of spoonsful. I'll keep at it.
Been busy dealing with myself of late.
Got the christening photos back this week too. Will try to post some soon.

Im the same as Sharon...no real reason for MIA...just CBF.
ALthough, Benjmain does currently have gastro....we had a great day at my brothers engagement party in Geelong on Saturday, and apart from being grizzly, which I put down to totally mucked up sleep for the day, Benjamin had been great...then when we got home (at 11pm mind you), he was really hard to settle...and he was chewing on his tongue.
Tried a bottle but he wanted none of that, put him to bed...cried...bottle...refused...bed...cried...for about 30 minutes...then he suddenly started sucking the bottle...then he turned into a little fountain....dinner...lunch....the lot....
Daddy bathed him while I cleaned the carpet.
All night saturday night, anything that went in (I was trying to keep fluids up) bounced.
By sunday arvo he was doing better but got a fever..lost his dinner, but kept a bottle down...yesterday wasn't too bad, but now the runny nappies are a'happening!
Been to the Dr and she's happy with everything I'm doing so we'll just keep it up...better go hang out some washing.

And another thing! Sharon I have heard the same thing about honey....all the centres I've worked in have had nutrician policies stating that honey will not be given to any child under the age of 12 months (and obviously not given until theyve had it at home), due to the bacteria in it (I think you're right about botulism) being very harmful

You will never guess what DH has FINALLY agreed that we are getting married in March 2009. Which is only 4 1/2 months away. So I have been busy booking things ASAP. I can't wait, I've waited 7 years to finally get married, we were ment to do it in March 08, but we found out we were pregnant with Wyatt so I put it off.
DH isn't really helping that much at all. Doesn't want to pick his best man for a few more months. However I have already picked and asked my MOH and my BM. I have order DD flower girl dress foff ebay, $150 inculding postage, and if it is good I will but my Wedding dress from them as well as boys suits and BM's outfits. I so hope it good. I can't justify spending $3400 on the wedding dress of my dreams to fit me badly. So fingers crossed.
Guess list is like 180, I could cut it down to 90 if we don't invited DH family. I haven't put SIL on yet, DH looked over guess list this morning and didn't mention it. So am not about to add her, but knowing his mother she will call him and ask and the he will make me have her. I really only want 80-90 people. And she ain't one of them.
Hay has anyone got any ideas/pointers for me????
WEll I better go, am in middle of putting together "save the date cards" for interstate/international guess.

Dh and I had a ****tail party with 35 of our very very closest friends and family, it was brilliant!
If you wanna go really cheap, friday weddings are usually half price.
****tail party is cheaper and less formal that a sit down menu (AND you don't have to plan tables!!).

Oh, get that is a small wedding...
As said most of guest are DH family, and work mates.
We are having a formal wedding, my parents offered to pay for it, however we really didn't want that, seem I don't live at home. When we spoke with them and told them that, they turned around and said ok, but they will pay for the reception. Regardless of what we are going to say. Have booked venue, for a 4 course meal.
I want to do it on the cheap, as I just can't jusfiy spending some much money on one day. I would like to keep it under $15k, but we will see. I need some cheap ideas, for most things. DH wanted Saturday, and I didn't argue, which means he will/should have 2 days off in a row.
Anyway better run, I better wack Wyatt in bath, he goes for his 6m old needle 2 morro. I couldn't get him any early with out Dr. He was away on holidays and didn't return until 1 Nov, but was all booked up... NOT impressed.

wow....$15k...ours was less that 8...I was so proud...the most expesive things were our reception, and my dress.

Been very busy at work so haven't been in *blah blah blah* You get the drill!
Sheesh - we spent less than $2,000 on our wedding. Had it on a Monday (yup - cheaper rates at the church!), got my dress on sale on the clearance rack for $450, had 'nibbles' for afternoon tea which I got a colleague to do for me (she was a caterer) - at mates rates. Had mates cars to drive us around & we even had the bridesmaids in $40 dresses with $40 shoes! Gotta love Hiltons! The hall was attached to the church - so again, got cheap rates for a Monday & because the wedding was there. Lucky for me, my Dad's best mate was the local Schweppes distributor at the time, so he donated drinks! Oh, and I made my own programmes & invites... I'm the el-cheapo queen!
Liam's going well. He's slowly getting the hang of solids. However, I can't get him to like veggies... he's good at apples & other fruits (banana mainly) but every time I try veggies, he has about 2 spoonfuls and screws up his face!! Ah well, at least he has some cereal in his bottles!
He's crawling all over the place and is starting to look like he might start pulling himself up to a standing position before long. He might just skip sitting for now - because he's not doing that just yet!
However, we've finally managed to convince him to bath rather than shower. He sits ok in the bath, but it's got a little seat thingy which helps.
Well, I'm supposed to be doing an order for nappy covers... better go & get that done! ;)

Sarah Congratulations. I certainly can not give you any tips on a cheap wedding, we had 124 guests and that was after refusing the ILs requests and because everyone had their input and parents insisted on the best it was over $20k. Totally not worth it! The easiest way to keep the guest numbers down is to book a venue that won't cater for more than 90 :lol:

Hope BJ is better. Greer has been bad lately, vomits and 3 hours asleep, 3 hours awake, hence the early morning (2am for me) post as I try to get her back to sleep. Teething I hope is behind this.
NettieLiam sounds like he is doing well. Greer and I are not as advanced. She sits really well, doesn't roll, freefalls during tummy time and only likes that first thing in the morning. BW - am watching a garden gym on ebay locally, will let you know how I go. Am also looking at a jolly jumper - just not 100% sure if it is the right thing to get.
I am struggling with the solids... feeling like I am useless since the only things I've managed to get Greer to accept without screwed up mouths is sweet potato or yoghurt. She won't have a bar of rice cereal or weetbix. cry:
3 more weeks and I'm back to work. Having mixed emotions about that one.
She has finally nodded off and after only 2hours yeah - so back to bed.

BW: I would like it around the $7-8k mark. I think that would be reasonable. Again I still can't justfiy spending that about amount on money for just 1 day.
Nettie: My oldest sister wedding was under $3000. mine you that was also 13 years ago now, so it would have been an ok wedding.
Grubi: Yeah wedding always living up chic chat. So you should all expect more, and are all no doubt going to be sick of it come March.

Ok, so I have found the dresses I LOVE, so I will post in gallery. However I will explaine. Why they are 2, cos I want the skirt from one dress and the bodic from another... I really do't want lace up... Looks lovely but at the end of the night, instead of helping me get out of dress DH would justleave me in it.
Oh, we are having a specail wedding dance too. Any suggestions??? Something simple, as there will be men, and me is a balloon dress.

Beautiful dresses Sarah.
I did exactly what you want...I had the skirt from one dress(I didnt like the way the flowers were on one), matched with the bodice (I wanted lace up not 5 billion buttons).
My dress was ivory coloured, with midnight blue embroidery, my bridesmaid and maid of honor were in midnight blue with midnight blue embroidery, and my flower girl was in ivory, with ivory flowers, I've included a pic of us all together too...they are in my gallery...the link is just up a afew messages.
Oh and my flower girl was only 18 months old, so instead of flowers, she carried a teddy that was wearing an ivory dress also.

Hate to say it but I think that both dresses have lace up backs ;). Love the look though and yeah buttons, laces etc are so bad for when you have to get undressed.
A suggestion for cost cutting - a friend of mine had the $2 silver photo frames - can get them a little cheaper in bulk on ebay as place holders one between each couple and they were also the bomboniere or favour for the guests to take home. Item number: 310060927040 is currently on Ebay at $1.40 each plus postage ( don't want to link incase I get in trouble).
BW your bridal party sounds lovely - must go look at the photos now.
