Well omg I am sooo sore I don't know if I told you but I stopped bb feeding Declan about a week and 1/2 ago and my bb's are sooo sore (never happened whilst I was feeding not even in the begining) anyway I have about 4 lumps in my bb's 1 in the lhs and 3 in the rhs and one of the ones in the rhs is HUGE if Declan or Jono accidentaly touch them (as DH knows they are out of bounds) I get a shooting pain, any suggestions of what I should do it is getting to the point Im considering going to the Dr but I don't really want to go for them just to tell me its normal blah blah blah
Declan had a reprieve from his grumps for 2 days but they have returned today grr omg I need some sleep!!! Declan went to bed at 8:15 last night as usual woke at 11:30 - 1:30 5:30 and then wouldn't go back to sleep GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR I am so tired I haven't had a semi decent nights sleep in 7 1/2 mths please it must be about time!!!!
-
becky,
if you stopped BFing cold turkey, you might have mastitis. Please go see your Dr if it's painful. Better safe than sorry! Have you been trying to express the excess milk out?
-
Go to the Dr Becky, I ended up in Hospital for 4 days with Mastitis (lumps) and it was agony. It's best to get it sorted ASAP
-
Bec, is that mastitis ?? Jac said she had it (I think). Sounds awful  Don't remember Jen getting anything like that (edit: Sushee and Susan posted whilst I was writing this)
I think most of us are hanging out for a decent nights sleep. I think Sushee said once they become teenagers ;)
oh yeah forgot to mention earlier. When I was sitting out the front with Jordy earlier, he was chewing on my finger, as he does. My finger went across the front of his lower gum, ie the middle, and woah, there's a very sharp bit there. That lower left front tooth must be about to come out and play any day now :o Must be why he woke at about 10pm last night and just bawled for a while. Jen couldn't get him to settle properly - he'd fall asleep on her shoulder after a while but would wake again when she was putting him back in the cot
Daddy to the rescue, picked him up, stood beside his cot for a while, rocking side to side... let him fall asleep, head on my shoulder, waited another couple of minutes and it was lights out properly. I tell ya, I love being a dad :D
Hi Sooz - haven't seen you about much... hows Perth going ??
-
Bec- I got 3 bouts of mastitis, was soo painful. go and see the doctor and get some antibiotics for it.
oooooh abs - teeth are coming!!!!
-
Hi everyone
Bec...hope you feel better soon, and that if it is mastitis it isn't too bad. I hear you on the sleep, only way I am getting any atm is by co sleeping, but it means DP sleeps in the other room. Hopefully soon hey!
Jacci... Great to hear you found your dog, naughty girl though. Tell Gav to be careful fighting the fire.
Theresa... Hope the next attempt at food for Em goes better, but at least she is doing well otherwise. How cute with G.
Nickers.. Good to hear your having fun... hope Nixon isn't too out of whack when you get home.
Susan... Hows things? Haven't seen you for a while.
Has anyone heard of a thing called a Safe T Sleep? Its meant to stop them from moving in the cot and therefore sleep better. Am thinking of getting one for Abbey as she wakes herself up crawling.
Not much news here. I have managed to get Abbey to sleep some of her day sleeps in her cot, but she doesn't sleep for too long. HAd swimming again today and she is liking it more. Also found out that she can float by herself lol.
My dishwasher is broken too :crying: So I have a full load to do by hand and could so not be bothered. But I should
-
Yikes AManda on the dishwasher... we had a fairly decent leak under the sink here... tried tracing the leak for ages and ages. Eventually disconnected the dishwasher and it stopped. Finally tried a new hot water hose - problem solved, phew
Not heard of the safe t sleep either... whats it supposed to do ??
Hmm, once again we miss parents group coz just as we remember its time to go, its time to put his highness down for his sleep
-
Hey everyone - I havent been posting much - but still been lurking!
Perth's going well, I start at a job tomorrow - just two days a week at a friends Mechanic Workshop in the office. They are really happy to work around days that I can and cannot work so it should be good fun.
Amber's going great guns. She's 8.8kg and 70cm and is totally due for a hair cut but I cant bring myself to do it or take her somewhere, she throws her head around too much!
Anyway, hope everyone else is going really well in the lead up to Chrissy! I promise I'll post more!! ha ha
Luv me :)
-
Good to hear Sooz, thats great news
Jac, apparently it is hotter than hell up in the mountains and things are getting worse !! The temp in the city has just come down from 40degrees in the last half hour or so (to 37), so who knows how much hotter it is furher inland
-
Abs... Its a strip of material that goes around the mattress, and a wrap part that goes around the baby and they stick together. If you google it you will see. And as for the dishwasher it still runs but no hot water gettign through..hopefully easy to fix or else hopefully its really really broken and we will get a new one hehe (we are in a rental)
Susan... wow on Amber needing a haircut, she should just share it around lol, there are quite a few baldies in here still. Congrats on the job.
Well dishes are done, i hate washing up.
-
Hmm, I may have to look into the Safe T Wrap too. C is another who wakes himself by commando crawling up the bed (even in a sleeping bag) and bumping his head on the top. I also make sure I put him as low as possible to start, but by 1am, he's headbutting the top and then waking himself to a point where he can't self settle. Grrr
Oh and an update from my MCHN's visit on Monday, C is 71cm and 8kgs. He only gained 200g in 3 weeks but considering he didn't eat solids for a week when he was sick, I'm surprised he didn't lose weight. But now his apetite is back with a vengeance (knock on wood) and he's going through 3 X 3 heaped tablespoons' worth everyday. I have just moved him onto lumpier food too, and he seems to enjoy that much more. Yay! No more sieving!
-
Amanda - I bought one of those Safe Sleepers for Charlie and forgot to use it and now it is way to small for him. It is a 00 - would it be any use to you coz i could post it to you.
Abs - bloody hell it must be hot up there! - i still haven't heard from gav and he left this mornig at 6.30. It is really blewing a gale here! - when he rang this morning he said it was crowning ( which means going across the tree tops) and there is no way of stopping that.
-
AManda - I actually just google what you were talking about and i got my thing out to and mine is a safeSleeper - not a safetsleeper - Mine looks like a sleeping bag - grow bag thing but you nearly do the same thing - you thread it thru a piece of material that goes around the cot then you verlcro around the belly
-
Thanks Jacci... That sounds good. Let me know how much you would like for it. Abbey is still in 00 so should fit her. Hope you hear from Gav soon
Sushee... That sounds like what abbey does. I'm hoping if I can stop that she will sleep better. Great stats for Charlie, esp. as he was sick.
My SIL's partner just got diagnosed with leukemia  We still don't know any details but it was such a shock.
And the dishwasher worked today...weird but hopefully it stays that way
-
Amanda - email me your address and i'll send it off tomorrow for you - I don't want any money for it. Charlie is not using it so you might aswell get some use out of it my email is gavinpiegrosse@bigpond.com
-
morning all - things are a little sad around our place this morning - Jordy is going for a few hours at the Day Care place, a "test stay" or something they call it. Jen earlier pretended she couldn't find her car keys !
-
oh abs - tell Jen i feel for her! - I have never had to leave charlie in Child Care - YET! - but just seperating him and me when he goes to mum's is bad enough!
-
Well i finally heard form gavin when he walked in the door at midnight! - i gave him a mouth full! - I know its not hisfault but he must surely realise that i sit home and worry when he has been gone for 17hours fighting a huge firethat is still out of control and hear nothing from him
-
hmm, maybe he doesn't wanna go either. Put him down for a nap just after 9am, and the little bugger is still asleep !!
Glad he got home safe and sound though Jac. I'm sure he's not the only one coping a mouth full from worried wives etc... maybe the command centre needs a list of numbers they call every say 6 hours just to let you know your husbands are all okay !
Last Saturday we were out shopping and picked up this really nice stroller thing seeing Jordy is basically sitting up these days, but also reclines back nicely if he wants a nap etc. Was $100 from Toys R Us.
When we were putting it together (well when I was putting it together), we noticed the back of the seat seemed much smaller than his pram. His head was basically at the top when sitting up... its a good 3 to 4 inches shorter than the pram. Seeing it's rated to bubs/toddlers up to 20kgs it doesn't really allow any room for him to get taller :o
Tis a real pity as it has a great big storage area underneath and a drink/phone tray between the handles etc. I'm off to return it at lunchtime today (and to do some Jordy xmas shopping seeing Jen won't be there with me)
Edit: He's just woken up so Jen is changing his nappy and will possibly be going out the door shortly
-
Good Luck Abs !!!!! Hope Jordy goes ok at Daycare.
I said that to gavin to that the fire station should ring if he was going to be past the scheduled 12 hours
-
well first report in a little while ago... Jen asked about monitors in the sleeping room, as the carers would be out playing with the awake children
"oh yes we do have them, though the batteries are flat at the moment - we'll be getting new ones next week" - this is standard AAA batteries "and we check on em every 15 minutes or so"
Hmmm, more than long enough for any bub to roll over and suffocate, so they aren't off to a good start at the moment :(
-
Abs - I must be a bad mum - hehe - my moniter has never even been turned on and i go outside and work in the garden all the time while charlie is asleep.
Try not to stress about it too much :)
-
Hey all.... I haven't been able to get into a DR grrr 2 week waiting list I will have to ring around a few more it is starting to get worse both bbs have lumps quite big now!
I didn't stop cold turkey though I started by introducing 1 bottle just before bed did that for about a month then I added a mid day bottle for about a week then I went to 1 bb feed during the day and bb's all night for about a week and then just night for a few days and then I stopped as I seemed to have no milk but now Im full of lumps and my rhs bb leaks I haven't tried expressing I thought that would encourage more milk!
Theresa Declan got grummpy about 3 or 4 days after he went on full formula but as above he had been having formula for awhile now!
-
Ouch bec... you poor chicky... have you tried massaging the lumps out in a warm/hot shower... aparently that helped my friend who got mastitis?????
My friend rung me today to say we are in trouble.... Alexa has figured out how to roll around the floor & not just from front to back anymore.... OMG...... I am gonna have to baby proof the house when i get home... Arghhhh
As for SDS he has gone into a Child youth services family home for a month... i got to the final straw yesterday, when the high school rang to say he had gotten into a fight & lef tschool... to cut a long story short I had the police looking for him & everything & I cant handle it anymore... so we will wait & see what happens... but in all honesty i dont know I I could handle having him back & all the stress back again... I feel awful about it but that is how I honestly feel... I love him, but I just cant live with him & his behaviour..... Does that make me sound awful.....
be back later tonight after I alexa proof the house & get her settled.....
hugz
Mitch
-
Beccy - Have you told the doctor that you think you have mastitis? I'd go down the hospital if you can't get in - atleast some one can look at you. I got told to express - but then again i wasn't stopping BF you are. I hope it feels better soon.
Mitch - god you poor thing - i can only imagine the stress you must be under with your Stepson - can he go back to his mum's at all?
-
Bac, I agree with Jac - either go to the hospital or if you haven't already done so, tell the dr's receptionist you have mastitis and need help... surely someone can fit you in
A 2wk wait to see a dr is ridiculous - in many cases that would either be life threatening or problem resolved
Mitch, best wishes for getting a resolution re stepson, and good luck with alexa proofing the house. Jordy still only rolls from back to front and gets stuck
WIll let you know about Jen's day later when I have more time
-
Hi Guys
Thanks so much Jacci.. That is so generous. I have emailed you. Great that Gav got back safe and sound too.
Abs.. Hope the trial at the daycare went well. its a bit dodgy that they haven't replaced the batteries. Maybe take some in for them lol. We got Abbey a stroller that lays back too, because the pram we had was too big for the car. It is so much easier. We only spent about $100 too, so hopefully you can find another one.
Mitch.. Hope you can work things out with your SS. It must be hard. And good luck baby proofing, its harder then it seems and you keep finding new things to do
Becky.. A 2 week wait is ridiculous. Have you got a medical centre near you, normally you can get in those quicker. Or I agree about going to the hospital, you don't want it to progress too far.
It is so hot here today, Abbey got a bit of a heat rash while we were out. We also got her a little piano to play with cause she loves hitting things atm, I can hear her bashing it now lol
-
Oh bet she loves them Bel, how cute, first pets.
Jacci, good news about ur dog. Yikes might want to get her rego'd/microchipped so easier to track down next time she decides to be a lil escape artist. Cheaper for lifetime rego of a desexed dog in NSW. Wholly cow on the fires, yeah we had 3 local lightning strike fires but think they were only small. Gees, this was the 3rd day they've said 37degrees, can't imagine what its gonna be like in summer, yikes. Maybe if u rang em Jacci & told them how u feel & got the other wives to, they might, who knows, but yes they should at least ring u if hubby's are too busy fighting the fires.
Theresa sounds like 2 steps forward 1 step back, but eventually Em will have to win the race, lets hope so.
Glad ur havin fun & Nixon is too Nickers. Enjoy.
Hope Jordy doesn't have too much trouble with his new tooth Abs, but yay on the milestone. Our childcare don't have monitors but they have a separate cot room, with huge windows all the way along & check for signs of breathing/mvmnt every 5mins instead of the recommended 15mins & sign a book to confirm it was done. Hope the day went well.
Bec, the midwife at our private hospital said if u have mastitis (hard sore red lumps) get to the Dr immediately & make sure u tell them it's suspected mastitis as they'll squeeze u in, do not wait until Mon if it's a wkend as can end up in hosp, as Jacci knows. When I weaned Holly, I did it over 2-3wks stopping 1 feed/day about every 4 days so did it slowly. The only time they became sore hard & lumpy was when I cut out 2 feeds in 1 day once. I just stood under the warm shower & massaged the lumps until they dissolved, like instructed by the same midwife, to prevent mastitis. I made sure I didn't drop 2 in 1 day again. But when I dropped the last feed, I fed every 2nd day just for a lil bit & it dried up with no probs. :)
Wow Amanda, float by herself, awesome. Just a tip, if dishwasher is included in the rental (wasnt explicitly excluded), then they HAVE to fix or replace it, so at least that's good news. :)
Yeah I've heard of it, but Holly's been getting around in her cot for quite a while now, just ends up sleeping in strange posi's but still sleeps through. The majority of the time she rolls to her belly & sleeps. :)
Sorry to hear bout ur SIL's partner, that would be a shock.
Sooz, hope the job goes well. I can't wait for Holly's hair to grow, how cute.
WTG Charlie on not loosing weight while sick.
Mitch, hehe, u sure will, yay Alexa. No u have to do what u feel's right & sounds like u did a good thing, hopefully it might settle him down.
Well looks like Holly's learning to crawl, she's so darn close, it's a bit of a mixture of crawling, commando crawling & shuffling along. Childcare said she is just like a lil gymnast, hehe. Oh & she also started saying dada repeatedly shortly after she learnt bubba, but sometimes its dadada & sometimes bababab, hehe.
-
YEAH !!!! Charlie can say Mummummum. It is so cute!! - I was playing basketball last night and gav and charlie came to watch me ( they only come when its finals) and i was running down the court all i could hear was mumumumumumum.
Becky - hace you had the fever yet - with every bout of mastitis i got a fever i would be shaking like i was cold but in the same time i was roasting and i was sooo tired. The doctor said mothers sometimes mistaken there symptons as having the flu.
Shell - that is the cutest photo of Holly. yeah on the nearly rolling - charlie is up and rocking on all fours but i think he'll still be a month away from crawling. We have the dog booked into to get desexed on monday now - and then we will register her. we have had her for 4 years - and we just keep forgetting about the registering thing!
Abs - how did jordy go at daycare -actually more to the point how did Jen go? I like the idea of what Shell's dayycare has for checking the babies and signing a book - maybe you could mention it in passing to the childcare centre you go to - or maybe they have a suggestion box that you can write it in.
Sush - that is great that charlie didn't loose anyweight. He is getting so long and so cute!
Bel - that is a cool first pet idea.! what is janae getting for christmas?
Theresa- I read your pro's and cons on having another child with the age gap and it has really made me think.
-
Thanks, although I think it looks cuter in full size (like in www). Oh that's adorable Jacci. Still waiting for Holly to say mumumum. Yeah we did the same Jac, we had our female dog desexed at around 4 & then rego'd her for life.
She just crawled 'properly' but slowly to our phone point & grabbed it, yikes, I really better start babyproofing. Hmm what am I gonna do bout phonepoint though? Tis an old style point with a double adapter for phone & portable phone so 2 cables of it? Well it's our mum's group xmas night out tonight, should be lots of fun, the dads are lookin after bubs. :)
-
Alexa is still to say something recognisable!!!!! but she has growling down pat LOL... she growls & attacks her toys, she gums them... it is soooo funny...
Stress level is droping here now & Alexa is a bit more settled too.... Its is scary seeing how much the atmosphere at home has affected her....
be bach later tonight for personals....
Also.... whos SS pressies have arrived so far???
-
Mitch- i'll let you know tonight if my ss has arrived as i havent been home for a week (but friend been staying at ours so should have grabbed it if it did arrive)
no words here yet either, but everytime i say mumumum mummy im your mummy, then daddaddad daddy wheres your daddy i get the biggest smiles..... Jacci how cute to hear Charlie while you were playing!
well i rekon Nixon will be ATLEAST 2months off crawling as he cannot sit yet and still hardly even rolls or likes being on his tummy. he has started rolling onto his side to sleep though, must find it more comfy, i know i do!
dh worked from 8am yesterday to 5am thismorning poor thing... we have to go to the airport in about an hr so im letting him sleep as long as possible cause then he has to fly to perth and work all night again.
Nixon has started couging & i dunno if he is doing it cause he likes the sound or if he has a cough?? cause i noticed yesterday he occasionally did it in his sleep aswell... he doesnt seem sick in any other way so not sure.
-
Nickers - Charlie has a bit of a fake cough at the moment! i think he likes the sound of his own voice. Nixon will just take of one day and you'll be wishing he wasn'trolling around!!! hope you had a great holiday!
Shell - I told gavin to move our phone cord from of the ground and he sticky taped it along our bright red wall! its so not inconspicuis at all!!!!
Mitch - i haven't rec'd mine but i have sent mine this morning.
-
Maybe like me Nickers, not knowing you had someone staying, so your SS might not have been sent yet ! How much longer til you get home, and hows the trip going so far
Jordy is definitely doing the dadadadadadadadada thing... I love it. He's also sleeping longer too
My two cats are chipped and desexed but I dont see the point in registering em, I dont even know how much it costs to tell you the truth. Had em for over 6 years now
Jordy is still a fair way off from moving too - he can still only go from back to front, but can get up on his hands and is trying to bring knees up. Not quite properly sitting up yet either - almost though. And he LOVES standing, with my hands on either side of his chest to catch him if he starts tilting in any direction. I put him on the kitchen bench when jen is preparing his food and he just grins from ear to ear
Yikes on hubby Nickers - argh. Speaking of work, they look like wanting me back in the office :( Some people have been waffling on about it. THey'll get even less time out of me as I then have to get into the office, and come back at reasonable hours. So zero 7.30am logons and go through til whenever. There'll still be the roughly same breaks taken during the day when I hop on here etc. And looks like they wanna force us to take leave between xmas and new year unless your role is critical
I reckon that sortta leave should be only half time or something - they are forcing us to take it - not fair.
Now to yesterday... all was not toooo bad on the centre front, until Jen noticed that a number of toddlers were asleep in the normal awake area for the babies. A carer had a baby in her arms that started screaming and woke a couple of the toddlers. She put down the baby somewhere to tend to a toddler, so baby screamed even louder and woke more toddlers
Apparently this was a fill-in person and that "has never happened before". A few other little things upset her a bit too... The person in charge didn't see this happen as they were out at the time. Jen might do another trial period next week, we'll see. But she certainly was crying on the phone to me about it :( Oh and the battery thing has been sorted now
Back to work now :p
-
Hi Everyone
SS...I have mine but DP says I can't open it yet :( I haven't sent mine yet but will very soon
Jacci... Did you get my email? Yay on charlie syaing mum and cheering for you! how cute. Abbey still doesn't say anything recognisable.
Abs.. Sorry to hear about the daycare, it might be worth trying somewhere else if you are not comfortable. How did Jordy go though?
Nickers..your poor DH, hope he can get some decent sleep.
Mitch..great that everything is settling down.
Shell...Yay on holly crawling properly!
Abbey had the most restless night last night. But at least she isn't grumpy today.
-
Hi there.
Amanda - I am sending your thing of today. Charlie had a shocking night last night too - must of been a full moon!!! hehe
-
Abs sounds like Jordy and Charlie are pretty much on the same path! C can't sit too well on his own either, can only get on elbows or knees/tippy toes but not both together, has only cut one tooth (with more starting by the looks of it) and is a baldy boy! But he loves his own voice, can say dadada and mumumum and babababa and yeah yeah. He can roll all over creation and most definitely loves his food too!
I haven't received my SS pressie yet but have mailed mine!
-
Well i managed to get into the drs yesterday but the only one avail was a guy anywway I went in and you know what he told me OMG "Im a man so I can't say I have ever experienced this so I'm not really sure but here are some antibiotics if they don't work then come bac" $50 later thank you very much! So then I decided what a doof and I went to the clinic it was open clinic but it was after 4pm so I was pushing it anyway there was one lady left and she helped I ended up having to give Declan a quick feed but most of the lumps went I have to just give him a quick feed every time I feel lumps starting on the side with the biggest lump first she told me not to take the antibitoics just take panadol unless I start getting the shakes and feeling sick, though I told her how I weened him and I hadn't feed him for over a week and she thought it was strange that I was still producing so much milk and kept asking are u sure ur not pregnant so now I have to go do a test DH said will be getting a divorce if I am and want to keep it (he didn't mean that but great support he is hey!) anyway so Ill be doing a test sometime I am like 98% sure that I am not! Other thing is I have to try and avoid anything sugary which is going to be hard for me as I love my coke but that could be another reason been having to much sugar which stimulates everything. Also if I have to feed him just not to do it at night as that will stimulate things more than during the day as the let down is a lot more! So there you go!
-
That's good news Bec. :)
WTG Charlie & Jordy. Sush did u say Charlie can say 'yeah yeah', hehe. :)
The growling certainly is cute & funny huh Mitch. Sounds good, they do say that bubs can pick up on our moods. :)
Abs, hope u get the childcare situation sorted.
Hope its just fake coughing Nickers, Holly does it sometimes & I've heard other bubs in mums group do same.
Hope ur hubby can sleep on the plane Nickers.
Hope tonight's better Jacci & Amanda.
Hehehe Jacci, that's funny, men huh! Yeah I'm gonna get hubby to install a new double phone point higher up the wall instead of the old crappy one on the skirting board.
-
Sushee - Jordy is no way a baldy - he has a full head of bewdiful blonde hair.. I uploaded some new pics last night (dated 20/10 and 23/11)
And he was fine with the daycare, was more Jen. The head honcho rang today and apologised, hence the 2nd trial day next week
Bath time... gotta go (she doesn't know I'm on here at the moment)
