abs - I'm glad the lady rang and appologised - hope it goes better next week.
Beccy - oooh! i think my DH would claim divorce too - hehehe - I amazed she did't tell you to take Keflex to get rid of it - you can still BF on Keflex.
I have sent my SS present!!! I hope it doesn't get lost coz it doesn't have a return address - heheeh
-
Abs - I was just looking at your www. Jordy looks like you but has Jen's sensational eyes!
-
I just saw the pics and maybe it's coz he's blonde but he looks like he has hardly any hair, abs! Lol!
Oh okay I just saw another one, and it's fine but there's quite a lot. In fact C probably has about that much too, but it's light brown, so you can't really see it either against his olive skin.
-
Sush - charlie is the same - he looks bald but up close he has heaps of hair but its really really blonde - looks like he has not much eyebrows either. Your charlie has the most beautiful olive skin!
-
Also Sush - I just realised that your sons name is really Charles.
I just looked at your photo album. When did you meet up with all BB people
-
Thanks Jac! :)
I'm glad he isn't super fair like his dad, who was platinum blonde until he was 16, but also nice that he's not as dark as me. I like to think he got the best of both of us!
Am a little worried though on how he's going to go with the humidity in Singapore when we go next Sat. How is everyone coping with the heat?
ETA the BB meet was about 2 months ago I think? And yeah, he's also a 'Charles"! But I only call him that when he's in trouble!
-
Sush - awesome your off to Signapore - that would be unreal - Charlie isn't really a big fan of the heat - but when we were in darwin a few months ago he was really good.
Does Charlie have to have any shots before you go over there? Just because he is so young?
-
Apparently not. I asked but my Dr reckons he should be good. Just to keep a mozzie net over him if we visit the zoo etc. I'm more worried about the food! I'm packing a few (like 20!) bottles of Heinz but will have to find something there too. It's one of the first things I intend to do when I get in!
-
ta for the thought re the daycare lady ringing... later Jen said she contradicted herself on the batteries, so is still suss. Anyway will see next week
And we haven't really applied anywhere else. This place location wise could suit us. I have to virtually drive past it to and from the office, and if they want me back there (at least part time), then I can do that
Have fun in Singapore Sushee. I've never been there. We are going away to the Hunter Valley (Maitland) for 4 nights in 2 weeks time. Hospitality Industry Rates rock - basically a 25% discount
Hehe remember me asking about other babies and eyebrows a while back. Jordy's are certainly very faint. And we agree Jordy has Jen's eyes but my face. He also has my eyelashes, which Jen reckons are very long (and she loves em).
-
hmmm Abs are you HINTING something there with SS!!! i am home now, got home this arvo. No SS present yet so if anyone was waiting for me to be home Im Home! Ive sent mine.
Nixon has very light eyebrows like Jordy Abs, his hair is fair too but still dont have very much of it. going to upload some pics of our trip shortly.
well im a little concerned re Nixon's cough. Its got a lot deeper just today and been couging more. he was couging more on the plane then again tonight.
for the first time EVER he hasnt been finishing his bottles. 2nd feed was a bf and really didnt think i had much or he got much so gave him a bottle but he didnt even attempt to have any, then this arvo had a bottle and he left 50ml and tonights bottle he left
110ml.
so i took his temp. 1st 37.5 2nd 37.8 3rd 37.6
he felt ok but when putting him to bed his face felt quiet hot did temps again and got 38.5 then 38.9 then 38.8
so i have given him some panadol, was wondering at what temp does it become a concern and should go to medical centre or hospital??
Nixon has never been sick yet (i know pretty lucky to have escaped it this far) so i really dont know what to do or how he acts. he coughs in his sleep every now and then.
-
abs - Charlie has said Dad for a while and gav loves it!!!
Nickers - I got told after 39 to worry about it, but i think it has to be over 39 for a certain time - I am not the best person to ask so maybe go into the midwives forum and they will be able to help you.
-
yeah jacci i just posted in appropriate section, just wondering if anyone else had experienced cough which turned into something. i was worried it could turn into bronchilitis or croup.
i just uploaded a couple of piccys
-
Charlie has had a cough but never anything more - hope it doesn't turn into anything else for him - you have been so lucky for having no sickness - can it be more common in prem babies to get sick?
-
just been reading up on the whole bronchiolitis deal and it can be more common with premmie babies. however in saying that i would kind of think premmie babies meaning they still havent reached their EDD and still very young?? I just went and took his temps again and they were down to mid 36's,& doesnt feel as hot so feel a bit better about that and if his cough gets worse i will get it looked at tomorrow.
-
Evening all...hope everyone had a good day/nights sleep seeing you'll all be seeing this in the morning.
nickers - hope you enjoyed your trip and that Nixon is feeling better. Josiah has been a bit unwell also, only an occasional cough, but a runny nose that just doesn't let up, and grumps galore.
Sush - Have a FANTASTIC trip - I'm sure Charlie will be beautiful for you - he'll love looking around everywhere I'm sure.
SS - haven't received one, and haven't sent mine yet either, will send it next week.
abs - hope the 2nd trial at daycare goes better than the 1st. I must be a terrible mother, I never checked any of those things when janae first started going - in fact, I've only taken her and dropped her off a handful of times, Mark does it mostly because the daycare is right next to his work and he wouldn't think to check anything apart from making sure she's had a happy day.
jac - how exciting that Charlie is calling your name, it's so cute isn't it. Josiah has started saying 'hello' at the right times - not clearly, but the sounds are close enough that we can make it out. He said it when my brother walked in Wednesday & today, and yesterday I was sitting floor talking on the phone, and when I hung up and put the phone on the floor, he picked it up and said it again. It's so cute, and he giggles when we make a fuss of it. He doesn't say anything else though.
Theresa - yeah, it is hard with the 2, and Janae does the same as Em - coming in when I'm trying to put Josiah down - but only when I'm taking too long. Having the 3 year age gap has been fantastic, because Janae is old enough that she understands when I have to deal with Josiah - she'll even call me when he's upset with a 'Mum, Josiah needs you'. And they just love each other so much, Josiah just lights up when he even hears her voice, and she fusses over him, plays with him and gives him HEAPS of cuddles and kisses.
Anyway, enough of my rambling, I should go to bed. Have a great weekend everybody.

Morning all -
another crap night by charlie - its funny about a month ago i would of thought it was a good night - but then you get used to them sleeping thru! Oh well - he might just be growing again.
Nickers - how is nixon's cough going??
Abs - we are the opposite - Charlie has my face but gavins eyes. he has the biggest bright blue eyes - they are so cute - but i may be biast!!!
Bel - Happy 7 months!!!!!!!! That is awesome that he can say hello!!
Well i was playing with charlie for ages the other day and noticed that he can throw the
ball - so now i give him the little ball and say "throw the ball to mummy" and he piffs it - he is great at it! only took me about 5 goes and now he does it.
It really is awesome now that i hear mumumumumumumum all the time! makes my job so much more worht while.
Well Gav is just about finished at work and we are going to go out the back and work on our backyard as we are having the BBQ after the christening out there.
Hope you all have a great day. I will log on later - ( want to check that nixon's cough hasn't got any worse)
Jac

Hi every one
Ryan had is Needles ( a little late ) i thought i would update his stats
HC 44Cm Length 71cm and 8.2 kg other then that we haven't been doing to much at all he is saying dad dad dad and mummmmmmmmm a and bub bub bub and is also crawling in a fashion he likes to go backwards most of the time but also cammando crawls and then get s up on his knees but only for a little bit he is also pulling himself up on to the furniture
-
Hi,
Thanks Jacci, Nixon hasnt gotten any worse, nor any better.
We were meant to go swimming today but ofcourse i didnt go. I decided to take him to the doctor anyway (they bulk bill so didnt cost anything)
However my usual gp doesnt work sat so i had a different doc. she seemed a bit rushy for my liking but anyway checked his chest said it sounds good. said his cough sounds mucosey & prob has a viral infection.
but when i aksed her at what temp does it become a concern i didnt really get an answer.
his temp was good all day but now getting into the evening its gone back up in the high 38's, he hasnt been drinking much but still doing wet/dirty nappies. so again i will just keep monitoring him closely poor bubba.
Shazz i did my own measurments a week ago on Nixon for 7months and he was 8kg & 44cm head! His length would prob be about 70cm. did u take Ryan to a place where they do them on certain dates or your gp? Cause when we take Nixon to the scheduled ones they dont measure them which i was hoping they would cause we dont see MCHN till 8months. (I like to keep a record for each month!)
Jacci- yeah how quickly we get used to getting good nights sleeps and forgetting what it was like in the begining. i was like that last night with nixon & when he was teething & i was pretty grumpy the next day! must sound so cute hearing mummum i cant wait for that! what outfit did u decide for Charlie's Christening?
-
Nickers - I hate when you go to the dr and they just rush you thru. Especially when it comes to babies. Hope that cough is ok. If you do find out what the temp is that we have to worry about will you let us know.
We decided on a black suit for charlie - it is just a little pants, white shirt, black vest and bow tie. he looks so cute. ended up buying one coz i really want to put it in his box of goodies to keep.
Shazz - Ryan is going great! hope he is ok with his needles
-
nickers - my gp doesn't normaly weigh etc but I just ask and he gets the clinic nurse to do it - otherwise most MCHN's have a set of scales etc at their offices you can go and check anytime OR a lot of pharmacy's here have a CHN that are there one day a week to do measurments too - not sure if its the same where you are - here its mostly the ones attached to shopping centres that get them. Good to hear nixon's cough hasn't got any worse tho. My doc & a nurse on the health direct line told me anthing 39+ worry about, or 38 that panadol & other temp relief remeies wont bring down. If panadol is bringing his temp down, it shouldn't be too much to worry about - but somebody PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong :)
Jacci - Thanks for the 7 mths wishes :) My body decided to celebrate too & AF has come back with a vengence today. It's been a nice 18 months without it!
Oh I forgot to share last week - my sister had her baby! She had a baby boy last Tuesday in Fort Collins, Colorado - Matthew Robert is my 2nd American nephew. A healthy 8lb10oz - and oh so cute.
Little mans is calling for hi dinner - better go. Hope everyones having a great weekend
Bel
-
Bel- congratulations on becoming an Aunty again how exciting! bummer on AF returning...its like our body knows hey my AF returned on the annaversary we conceived Nixon!
Thanks for the advice bel, jacci,Theresa. I am surprised nixon isnt sick of me taking his temps ive been doing it all day! it seems to go up and down he felt a lot hotter tonight but when i took his temp was mid 37's it took me over an hr to get him off to sleep he is just not himself. just have him in a nappy/singlet & summer sleeping bag. ive got the monitor next to me and poor thing coughs every 5-10mins
Yeah my sister takes her DD to a chemist to get weighed etc in Sydney, i just figured it was a Sydney thing, i have never actually bothered to go to a local chemist and ask if they do it. gotta go to the shops tomorrow so if i remember i will go in & ask.
i cant believe Gerogie is pulling herself up already! wow what a clever girl but i agree she is too little to be doing grown up things lol!
well im taking a dvd to watch in bed, dh working away in perth on Pearl Jam.
-
Nicers - I would hate it if Gav was a way all the time. I watched mr & mrs Smith last night not too bad but not unreal! hope nixons cough goes away soon
-
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Nickers..Hope nixon is feeling better soon
Jacci... I liked Mr and Mrs Smith too. How cute that charlie can through the ball to you
Bel.. Congrats on being and Aunty again! Bugger about AF, she always picks the best times.
Theresa... Yay on G pulling herslef up, Abbey does it too, and I agree that they are growing up too quickly.
Temps... Abbey is a hot baby, so her usual temp is about 37.5. The other day just before her tooth came in she was up to 38.9 but 2 doses of panadol brought it down.
Do you all remember me talking about SIL feeding her 2 month old 210ml bottles? Well was talking to MIL today and Amelia is 3 months in a week but already weighs 10kg  Abbey is going to look so tiny against her.
-
Will catch up on posts shortly. I got some bargains at a local car boot sale today & here's what I ended up with for $56:
* fisher price rope swing - $5
* fisher price xylophone puppy on wheels - $7
* 4 hard cover story books - $4
* 23 items of clothing (sz 0 to 4) - $40
(pics in my www)

Nickers ~ i usually take ryan to MCHN evry thursday at the local hospital and they weigh him but for 7 months it was done atthe gp cause he was late getting his needles cause he has been sick etc he has been so off colour since having this lot of needles and to top it off i have got the most dreadful cold i haevn't been able to feed him at all today every time i try i get so dizzy and want to pass out so i have been expressing but my supply is really suffering it also didn't help that when i tried to feed him this morning he bit me so hard i now have teethy puncture marks on my nipple ok i'm off to bed hope everyone has had a great weekend
-
AManda - OMG - Can't believe how big that baby is!!!! charlie is over 10 kilos now but he is very long ican only imagine how short she will be only be 3 months old
-
Holy cow 10kg at 3months!!
Ouch Shazz....
I went and bought a vapouriser today from chemist, may or may not help but i thought it will come in handy for future anyway. so when in the chemist i asked if they have any MW that comes there and get baby weighed etc. The woman didnt know what i was talking about and said she has never heard of it in a chemist??
Anyone in Melbourne know of any chemist that DOES do this? I know Sydney & perth they do.....
Nixon's cough is worse it sounds so terrible, i needed to get some shopping today (seings been away for a week had nothing) and ppl kept looking at me every time Nixon coughed (probably think i am a bad mummy for taking a sick boy out with me, well had no choice DH is still away)
-
Ok well I got a msg later tonight from MIL saying she had been mistaken and Amelia is 6.5kg, so not as big as I first thought thank god, but still she is just under what Abbey is now.
Theresa... Good on you for having a nice night out, hope the girls give you a nice sleep in. It is a bit sad that they are so independent but she is still such a mummy's girl which is nice.
Nickers... I have heard of chemist doing it and I have had abbey weighed at one in Dubbo. I don't know if its always a MW or CHN but sometimes they just have the baby scales there that you can use. Look for ones that advertise that they hire stuff like breast pumps etc out, you might have more luck. I really hope nixons cough gets better.
Shell.. Yay on the bargains.
We went ten pin bowling today for a friends bday, it was fun but I wasn't very good lol. Then had a bbq and poker game. It was a nice night out.
Talk to you all tomorrow
-
Thresa - PMSL at the fact you told us that before you wrote!! that is so something i would do. Glad you had a great night. We drove around yesterday handing out some left over invites to the christening and i had the job of driving - gav got to sit in the passanger seat and drink beer
Amanda - I am also crap at bowling. I forgot to mention that we have family up in Wodonga.
Nicers - how is nixon this morning - we have a vapouriser for charlie - it is great i can notice the difference in his chest within a night of having it on in his room.
FEeding - Charlie has the habbit of when ever he is eating his bottle he puts his hand up so that i can pretend to bite it - the only problem is now if i don't do it now he just stops eating.
Standing up in Cot - Charlie has just realised that he can pull himself up on his cot and standingthere screaming mumumumumum - is anyoneslse baby doing this - I have locked the side of the cot in but when he stands up the top of it only come to a bit above his belly button - so do i just put his cot mattress down to the next level?
-
well its 9am and Nixon is still asleep. Cause he is not well im not going to wake him up.
I did hear him about 7.30am he coughed & sounded the same but i'll just wait and see how he is when he gets up and see of my doc is in today.
Getting some concreting done today so dogs have to be in the garage, the husky already escaped on me when i opened the door luckily she didnt get to far and come back (She never comes back!!) & i forgot to shut the door when i ran off after her, when i came back theirs my cute Boxer sitting on the driveway waiting for us!!
but then when it came time to put them in the garage do u think we could catch her..... took 2 of us chasing her around the back yard (big back yard too)moving her into a position she couldnt back out of LOL!!
yikes Jacci on Charlie pulling himself up in the cot! i would probably be putting the matress down just to be on the safe side.
glad u had fun bowling Amanada, thats what makes it more fun when your not so good at it!
Therese hope you had a good nights sleep & didnt wake with a head ache.
-
Jacci,
yes I'd defiintely drop his cot mattress down! C's is on the lower level just coz DH assembled it like that and then couldn't be bothered to change it! He's no where near standing though!
Actually he's only just started getting on hands and knees and rocking. Not always, coz his balance really needs work, but definitely trying, and getting so frustrated when he tips over!
Oh, and his 2nd tooth in 7 days has cut. Lower left one this time. I expect a few more the in the next couple fo weeks. Gee, he has no teeth for ages, and now it's all happening all at once!
-
oops - me been away for a few days...
Hi Ladies, Jen made me turn the computer off all weekend :( Had couple of hundred emails to sort through, mostly spam
I watched Cars on Saturday night, seemed to have been a movie for a few of us
Defioitely lower the cot Jac... a friend of Jen's had their bub topple over the side of the cot and onto a wooden floor - this was a number of years ago and it didn't cause any longterm probs... Just a big bump of the head
Nickers, I wasn't hinting anything, looks like there's a few of us who are a bit slack on the posting. Good to hear you are home safe and sound
PMSL Theresa, hope you had a good time. I remember about 5 years ago being off my nut after a huge dinner party here. *****faced is more like it. Had the computer next to my bed back then (and single)... Wrote a looooong email to a friend in Perth. Can't believe all the typo's etc when I read it back to myself the next day... at times I remember barely being able to contain the laughter whilst typing it :p
Nothing really new here, Jordy has a 2nd tooth coming, so that'll be the front lower 2 - still waiting on the first to come through as well. And he's scoffing his fruit & yoghurt, but still a bit suss on the vegies (I was much the same apparently, took me YEARS before I would eat vegies - ie after I moved out of home)
-
Abs- Charlie is pretty fussy on the vegies - And gav was the same as you didn't eat tehm till he moved out of home! Yeah on another tooth - charlie is still a gummy bear!!!!
I have cars - charlie loves it he just watches it must be all the noise.
Sush - he will get up and go soon - you probably don't want him moving yet. It is amazing how fast charlie has gone from just rolling to up and moving on all fours. he can hook around on the floor boards.
Nicers - bloody dogs!!! they just cause us so much trouble and so much love!
Hope every one is going great. My little man slept good last night ( touch wood) he slept till about 6am then put him in bed with us till 8 it was great!!!
-
Evening everyone
Welcome back Abs... i bet you were going through withdrawals over the weekend.. But I bet you had some nice family time.
Jacci.. yay on charlie sleeping good. Hope he does again tonight. I got you parcel today, thankyou, but I think a piece is missing. I think it should have a bit that actually goes around the mattress? If you don't have it thats ok, I should be able to work something out. I can't wait to try it. How cute charlie standing in the cot and calling out to you... sounds like you will have to lower the mattress. oh and if you ever visit your family here let me know and we can catch up.
Sushee.. yay on charlies tooth. It feels like abbey is about to get heaps more soon, they are all so close. It won't take long and you will be chasiong charlie all over the house so enjoy it while you can lol
Going to the CHN on thursday to check on abbeys weight. Hopefully she has gained a bit more this month. Well little miss is getting tired so i am going to put her to bed.
Night all
-
Amanda - how cute is Abbey - she's gorgeous!
Jacci - I'd definately be lowering the mattress, you don't want to be paranoid that he's going to topple over. :)
Sush - Yay on Charlie getting another tooth. Josiah just had tooth #4 come through, top right this time, so he has a nice crooked smile, but very cute.
abs - hope you had a lovely computer free weekend.
Theresa - sounds like you had a nice night - hope the girls weren't too much trouble for you the next day.
K, off to eat my dinner. See you all tomorrow
Bel
-
Amanda - I never got that extra bit when my friend gave it to me - i asked her and she said she used something but i forget what it was. i never actually used it.
Bel - hope you had a nice tea!
-
morning all...
Jac, we sit outside either on the balcony upstairs outside our bedroom, or beside the front door on a rocking chair with Jordy (only room for one in the chair, but an old couch upstairs). Jordy LOVES watching cars drive past. He follows them with his head... tis sooo cute. Sometimes if he didn't hear one coming and he then sees it, he "jumps" a little
Good for C to be sleeping better, how'd he go last night ?
What was for dinner Bel ? We had burrito's & salad = yumm
Gonna be another scorcher here in Sydney today - 35 on the coast, 40 at the base of the Blue Mountains... and windy, and that fire in the mountains is still burning !
Jen & Jordy are just getting ready to go off to the day care place again shortly, and I have a dumb phone meeting for an hour at 10 - better plug my phone in ready for the call
Check back later
-
AAAHHHH!!!! This boy is doing my head in! He's been up since just before 5am, is SOO grumpy, but will not go to sleep! I want to just put him in his bed and let him cry it out, but of course, I have a house full of sleeping people, so I have to try and keep him quiet instead.
I'm so sick of being the one to get up at 5am every morning, everybody else sleeping & getting grumpy if they're woken up because they stayed up until God knows what time, and then me having to stay up until 10-11pm to spend time with Mark because otherwise we'd get no time together.
Sorry, I guess I shouldn't complain, Josiah does sleep all night - just gets up so damn early....thanks for letting me vent :)
Bel
-
Bel, i feel for you, I was up from about 3-5am thismorning Nixon was just wide awake, did a big poo and didnt want to get back to sleep, eventually got him to but when he woke at 6am i was too tired to try settling him and brought him in with us!
he is still pretty weezy and coughy but not any worse so thats a good thing.
Abbey is soooo cute in that ticker Amanda!!
-
Bel & Nicers - i realy feel for you having early risers! Charlie is about 6am everymorning but we have a rule in our house that anything inbetween 6am and 7.30am gav has to do it. He goes to work at 7.30 so it give me a bit of a sleep in. also nicers - like you i just give in sometines at 5am and take him into bed with me!
Oh and Bel - vent all you want!!! there are times when we all need to do it! atleast you know we'll listen!
Abs - charlie had an awesome sleep last night! - he went to bed at 8pm and i had to get gav to go and check him this morning coz i hadn't heard boo out of him all night and it was 7am - he was happily lying in his cot talking to all the toys! How is jordy sleeping? Good luck with round 2 of daycare!!!!
