well Nixon has had a fun day so far. woke up and after his bottle it was present time. He got a 3 wheeler trike with a hand out the back for mummy and daddy to push him along! he absolutley loves it, loves the bell on it and we took him for a ride down the street with it.
after that is was off to get our ultrasound. all went well and i'll update details in my preggy journal soon. couldnt tell the sex but hoping to next time!
From there we headed back to the Mercy where it all began. My gf from mothers group works in Nicu so met up with her and she took me inside. all the memories come flooding back, the smells, the beeps, the quietness of no babies crying. I did really well, im so glad i went back b4 leaving. I seen some very tiny babies born at 24weeks 500-600grams, it was quiet surreal.
Once i started seeing bubs around Nixon's birth size i was still taken back by their size. seen a few nurses that i recognised but unfortinatley the main DR i remember has moved interstate and the main girl wasnt on.
So i asked my gf in lamens (sp?) terms how sick was Nixon. As it was all sort of a blur back then, the termonology was overwhelming we didnt really know just how sick he was.
Without scaring me she said he was quiet critical in the first 72hrs. she told me of some disease they call it prems can have (big long word) that i never remember hearing of and it main concern (other then the immature lungs) was the seizures he had which they were quite concerned about. He was treated for it at the time had it of continued he would of had an MRI. The only way to tell if it is all ok is developmental milestones. Which clearly he is on top of that.
Im a little surprised the Paed never brought this up at all his check ups, but i suppose thats what he was looking for at the appointments.
anyway i really feel somewhat recovered after that and i can now move on.

Sorry I haven't been on in AGES. I have been trying in vain to get this online scrapbook completed in time for it to be printed and shipped from the States for Mother's Day. About 100 hours later and 101 pages I am nearly finished!!

Hi ladies - sorry, I've been MIA too - damn work and stuff. Gotta luv at 5pm finding something that cancels all these people coming in at 1am to do stuff... so they'd all already gone home - now they had to be called to say don't bother. My "fault" for finding an error that would have been chaotic if the upgrade had have gone ahead - note, the error wasn't my fault. I just found it - shows the lack of testing they did over several weeks

Great pics Jacci & Abs (sorry abs, didnt get thru all 206, slow dialup connection here which really sux, no thnx to telstra, even with choosing fast as speed for slideshow), awesome fish cake. Charlie certainly lks like he enjoyed his cake, hehe. Wow u did a great job on the train cake Jacci.
Holly's 12mth needles were Fri 13Apr, & updated details are:
DW=10.08kg, L=71cm, HC=46.5cm.

Charlie just got measured and weighed and he's lighter but longer than Holly! Lol! DW=9.66kgs and L=76cm. He started taking cows milk from a bottle about a week ago and now goes through just over 500mls a day over 3 bottles. I think he may have dropped some weight in the first week after I stopped BFing him and he wasn't taking anything else, but is now putting it back on.
Nic, I'm sure it was a little disconcerting to hear about how sick Nixon really was those first few days, and while it was wierd that no one told you this at the time, I suppose it's also good that you were told at a time where you've already seen Nixon hit his milestones, and therefore know he's alright. It's a shame you missed the Dr and the nurse you wanted to see though.
Abs, great photos! It looked like a great occasion! Look at all the lovely blonde hair Jordy has too! We don't have stairs in our house, but my MIL does, and Charlie has been climbing up those too. Not down though, like Jordy, he doesn't know how yet.
Charlie still looks a while away from walking. He will walk if his hands are held, but doesn't have the balance yet to stand on his own for very long. In the meantime, everytime I look in his mouth, he seems to have more teeth coming! He's also been super clingy lately and it's driving me batty. He wants to be carried all the time. My DH wants me to 'stop spoiling him' and let him have his little tanty when I refuse to pick him up. I think I may have to, coz my back is killing me having to lug him round with me everywhere!
And, lastly, we're off to Sinagpore for my brother's wedding on Tuesday next week, so I expect all the sleeping through he's been doing is going to get interrupted by the midnight flights and it'll be a while before I get a good night's sleep again! :(

We're doing well here. Caden has just woken up from a sleep, we had a late night last night and he fell asleep in my arms this morning, just conked it after being up for 2 hours. so cute.
As for being pgnt again. Nothing like the first time. So busy with Caden that I often forget that I am even pgnt. Its great though as time is flying past. WE're already at 12 weeks and had hardly any ms. Got a small party planned for Caden, figure he's too young to know much so we'll keep it small while we can with just grans and gramps and god parents this year.
I had a quick read back and its lovely so see so many milestones being reached.
Gotta go get my little man out of bed. Happy Birthday to those who have already had theirs and congratulations.

arrived in Sydney thismorning just at my sisters. Nixon finally went to sleep about 1.15pm after being awake since 7.15, he was hard work on the plane, not looking forward to coming home when i will be on my own........

Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks, almost all the April 2006 bubba's have turned 1, happy birthday to all the babies birthdays I have missed, Olivia turns 1 in 12 days and I can't wait, we have a family bbq planned which will be fun, life has been so hectic with work and renovating the house.. We built a room in our garage so my eldest Tyla could move in there which then meant Olivia had her own room. We officially finished painting yesterday, so today I finally setup Olivia's own room and how much fun that was..and to top things off today she took her 1st steps, three or four steps at a time about 10 times!! I think it was the excitement of her having her own room, it will make life so much easier for her to have a space that's baby friendly, now to get the rest of the house in order...

Hey all Declan had his 1 year old shots yesterday finally (wasn't allowed to have them before has he was sick) we also went to the clinic and was weighed and measured Declan is 10.6kg and 75cms long. We got a book and DVD from the clinic from a grant that the library has be given to encourage parents to read to kids it is really good, is this an Aus wide thing or just a tassie thing!?
