Hi everyone
Miss u all - i seem to b flat out doing nothing!!!!!
just a quick update about charlie and me.
we are walking 10km every day and have started playing A grade netball again - i played on the weekend and was a bit worried i might hurt myself but everything turned out great. i have lost 12 kilos so far and am 7 kilo's lighter than when i got pregnant - yeah for me..
Charlie will b 6 weeks on thursday and i really couldn't ask for a better baby - he has started sleeping 5 - 6 hours at night so i am only up once a night.
when he's not asleep he is just lying under his play gym staring at the world.
he has really started focussing on things - but still no real smiles - can't wait till he gets them. he belts all the little toys around and stuff
anyway better go - renevating to do!!!!! will read all personals tonight.

Nickers – the reason both boy twins often get hernias is that twins are often prem (mine weren’t) The hernia is caused in the tract where the testes come down and in prem babies it often doesn’t get time to close off and a hole is left hence the hernia.
Jacci – yeah for your weight loss. It feels great doesn’t it. I put on a pair of trousers that I hadn’t worn since before I was pregnant today and they are so loose. Great.
Theresa - this will give you a laugh. I emailed mum on the monday following mothers day to say belated mothers day and explained the reason she hadn't heard from me was re Hayden and his hernia etc. Anyway no reply which is not a surprise. But on Thursday my brother rang to let us know is girlfriends father had died and ask how Hayden was. Mum had told him about Hayden, so she seemed concerned but hasn't asked me how the appointment with the specialist went - About time to give up on her. Anyway Dad on Saturday told me he saw an old friend and told her he was a grandpa, she had already heard about the boys through mum and mum had made it sound like she had seen the boys and was having something to do with them. Of course all a lie as she has not asked one thing about them. She also told her that she had opened bank accounts for them which would not be possible as you can't open a bank account without proof of id (eg birth certificate)

Just wanted to quickly tell you all that

I have updated my web page so feel free to have a look a my little charlie
-
at least, not in their name Kelly !
Hmm, wondering where our Birth Certificate is - must check with Jen to make sure she sent it back to em - they sent it back to us as I hadn't signed the appropriate bit (otherwise my name would have been left off it)
Apparently the CBA have an account that has climbed about 13% since it started in Feb last year... Education Account ?? Any withdrawals that are for Education expenses makes the interest earnt, tax free. Only prob is the buggers make it a minimum of $500 single deposits, or $100 by regular payments (ie comes out of your pay)
And how are you coping with working and having the boys. Jen isn't getting as much done as she'd like, but has settled on Saturday to be me and Jordy time, so she can work
Yay for the Charlie growth Jacci (ps, you need to fix your signature)
And Welcome Back KelliC
-
Abs- i have added you to my contacts on msn so please accept me! That would be great if you could help me link the pages.
DH put i was born in a different suburb then what i was actally born which is now on Nixon birth cert! I suppose it does not really matter, but its still wrong and i will know it
KellyW- my boy was premmie, i hope he doesn't get a hernia.
Nixon fed @ 11pm last night & slept through to 5.30am!! whoo hoo got a great sleep
-
Nickers - which hospital was nixon in? charlie went to Royal Womens Hospital he was in the NICU there. that was a good night sleep for you. I fed charlie at 9.30 and he woke up at 2 am...... not too bad better than his normal 3 hourly
Kelly - one of my friends here just had a baby and it was said to have a hernia - but really his whole insides had grown on the outside....... poor people - I hope your little boy is ok.
Theresa - charlie has pead app on 30th may
-
abs - saturday is Dad Day in our family too - I play netball so gav looks after charlie. last week was his first time - i was soo stressed i had never left charlie before and i was only gone for 4 hours..... but gav said everything was fine
is everyon egtting good at one hand typing????? i am feeding and typing.
-
how long does it take to get the birth cert back? I haven't gotten mine yet either
-
Everyone Too Busy Being A Mum......... No One To Talk To!!!!!
-
I'm here!! Feeding and typing here too - and he's making a right mess being lazy with his feeding and not latching on properly so milk keeps squirting everywhere!
Birth cert - u just reminded me I've got to post mine, it's all ready to go I just haven't got down to the post office yet.
 I'm so annoyed with Centrelink atm! Put in the claim for maternity payment when Josiah was first born so that we'd have the money by the time the money we saved for the mortgage had almost run out - anyway after 3 weeks I gave them a call just to see how far away it was. They said there had been a computer error but it would only be another couple of days - which was fine. I still hadn't heard anything yesterday so I gave them a call, and the girl confirmed that there had been a file error, but then looked a bit further into it and told me they'd actually lost some of the info due to the error and hence my claim had come out of the queue. I asked why no one had contacted me and she said it was 'just luck of the draw' whatever thats supposed to mean! She couldn't actually help me any further coz she doesn't deal with the processing (or just wanted to go home - it took me all day to get through to them) but said she put me at the top of the queue for today - if thats the case, why at 10am have I still not heard from them?!?! Now I have to spend today trying to get throughto them AGAIN and find out what the heck is going on. I'm so cheesed off right now!!!
Anyway that's my rant for the day. Hope everyone is having a better day than me!
-
Nixon was @ Mercy Womens hosp in Heidleberg,
We got Nixon's birth certificate in approx 2 weeks i think. we got a special boy one which come maybe a week later by courier. we got the standard one in normal post and i said to DH i thought we got a nice one, anyway b4 we got around to ringing it was delivered in a cylinder thingy!
Bel- Ive been doing the whole feeding/typing thing too! Exept i had to feed in his room thismorning because we had a painter around touching up some things they did not do properly the first time!
-
Hi everyone,
Well to all of you having a good nights sleep, think of me on the couch at 3 in the morning, still no signs of improvement here and I am about to have a nervous breakdown! I have an appointment with the paed on Friday!!
Bel, we just got our money yesterday, so that was nearly 6 weeks that it took to come through!!
Jacci - good on you getting back into your netball. I went to pilates for the first time last night, was great but feeling the strain in my muscles today!!
Theresa - I hope the hot water system gets sorted out soon, nothing worse than a cold shower!!
Nickers - great sleep by Nixon, he is doing so well for someone that came so early!1
Kelli - good to see you back, I hope your 3 girls are doing well!
Well someone is screaming again, I swear this baby is never happy, he is either feeding or screaming, no happy time in between!
-
KelliC, cute pickies.
Theresa, hope u get ur hot water.
Jacci, WTG & great pickies too. Birth Cert, I think it was delivered within 2wks.
Bel, that's terrible, stick it to 'em, hehe. We had our payment within 2wks (handed in at Medicare & was given the slip off the bottom as proof of submitting it).
Nickers, why is it that it's hard to get reliable quality trades people these days? Hope they do it right this time. Yay on the sleep.
Lisa, is there someone that u can call on for help? Maybe ur CHN can provide info. I really hope things start improving for u both.
P.S. Jacci & KelliC, if u want ur details updated, u need to email someone, see info at top of page 1. :)
-
Thanks for that Shell,I don't exactly have a lot of time for details at the moment. I have emailed a moderator.
I have updated my website and ticker I must be on a roll. Olivia is finally asleep, she's been up since 5 this morning so hopefully she has a decent sleep, I certainly need a break. She seems to be coming down with a cold...UGH
I hope everyone is well and I promise to try and catch up over the coming days.
Abs,
I am sending off for the birth certificate today, also the form to have Olivia added to our medicare card. I hope Jen and Jordan are well.
Theresa,
Tya and Tahnie are fanatstic and they are at the perfect age to be a huge help, Tyla will often rock Olivia to sleep whilst I prepare dinner it certaintly relieves some of the stress. Georgie is beautiful, how is Emma behaving??? I hope your hot water system is fixed soon....
Nickers,
wow at Nixon sleeping 6 1/2 hours, I so look forward to that.
Jacci,
Charlie is gorgeous and sounds like the perfect baby. I hope to get back to excercising this week or next. I don't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy clothes as yet but it's only been three weeks...
Bel,
I hear what you are saying about Centrelink, they are hopeless at the best of times, we are also relying on the payment to take a chunk off the bills so hopefully we get it quickly.
Lisa,
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time of it, I have my fingers crossed that he settles down soon. Is there someone that can help out to take some of he pressure off?
-
Hi everyone
hope you and your bubs are all well. we have all had a touch of a cold here the past few days but luckily it isn't worrying abbey too much. She's just a bit snuffy so have been using fess little noses on her...it works a treat.
Lisa... i hope you get some answers and help soon. it must be frustrating. sending baby sleeping vibes your way :asleep:
jacci.. wtg on the exercising and weight loss. i haven't been doing anything yet, but can fit my pre pg jeans yay! just need to start tightening it up now lol
nickers.. yay at the long sleep. abbey slept for nine hours the other night eventually had to wake her up cause my bbs were aching and leaking lol. then she has nights like last night where she hardly slept at all. the long sleeps are great aren't they
theresa... hope you get hot water soon!
Abbey has been doing so well. have a checkup tomorrow so will get to see how much weight she has put on. she looks so much more grown up lately, can't believe i'm already thinking how fast time goes lol.
She had a shower with dad today and loved it.. much easier than running the bath for her. she just curls up on him and shuts her eyes when the water goes over her face.. its so cute. and she did a half roll over today! :confetti: i put her to sleep on her back and she rolled onto her side pretty much stright away. then a bit later rolled to her tummy. i put her back on her back and she did it again. she thought it was funny too... kept smiling away.
oops rambled on a bit there sorry to bore you all lol better go now
talk soon:hello:
-
Hey Everyone,
Abs was kind enough to help me get the link working on my website!
When you get a chance have a look at Nixon's pics!
-
Hello to all! Hope you're all going well. I never seem to find the time to actually post - by the time I've read through and caught up on everyone's news, something (or someone) else requires attention!
Amber had her 6 week check up today and everything's going really well, both with her and finally me too! Today is the last day I have been on Antibiotics since the day she was born - a milestone!!
Anyway, just checking in - and wanting to let you know you're all doing a wonderful job!
-
Morning all.
Nickers - love your photo's they look great.
Did u end up havin Nixon before your sister had her baby?
Bel - i put my form into centerlink on tuesdwy and the money was in my bank on thursday. although we only get the once off payment as our income is too high - so there would of only been paper work for that.
kelliC - olivia is just beatiful - how is noel handling fatherhood.
Susan - you poor thing hope hope that is your last bout of antibiotics. I had them twice for mastitis and they really aggrevated charlie. he cried all the time - so not like him at all.
Lisa - hang in there it will get better - a friend of mine had a baby that from the minute it woke it would just scream - larissa got to about 12 weeks and then just turned into an angel - she is great now. i know poor renea was nearly having a nervous breakdown by 12 weeks. hope they can work something out for you
Amanda - i have the flabby belly from being cut in half.... i have one of those ab king pro things - really should start using it instead of just looking at it!!!!!!!! hope all is good with Abbey
Abs - .hope you, jen & jordan are going along great now. BTW thanks for the card
-
Jacci- would you believe my sister had her baby 4 days after me! And she came on her due date, 21st April she had a baby girl (her 2nd) Alyssa Grace. we havent yet met though because we r in diff states. she is coming down in a month or so.
-
Just a quick hello from me, i have one very unsettled little man atm. Tell you what, I have to be SO careful what I eat!
Jacci, I forgot to say last time, WTG on the weight loss! Wish I was motivated enough to walk that far every day.
I'll have to come back later, someones screaming for attention.
Have a good day
-
Hi all,
Charlie's christening is on Sunday and my house looks like Hurricane Larry's been through. Any of you lovely ladies have any ideas on how to do a massive clean with an almost 6 week old baby in the house?? Lol!
-
sushee - i just had to do a major clean up in the lounge room - luckily for me i just turn the vacuum on and walk away for a few minutes then come back and Charlie is asleep - then i run around like a mad woman for about 1 1/2 hours till he wakes up - works everytime.Theres days when a whole day can fly by and i think to myself "i have done nothing today"...... BTW - love your babies name!!!!!!!
Nicers - hope u get to see you new neice soon.
Bel - thanks for the compliment - i need to make sure its the first thing i do every morning otherwise i start doing something else and i tell myself - i'll walk tommrrow.
I have only walked twice this week -pulled up a bit sore after netball last week.
hope your little man settles down. i never know what to do when charlie gets himself into a tanty - because he has only really cried once and that stressed me enough.
Josiah really does look like mark
-
Hello Everyone, Its been a while since i posted, Ive been very slack......:(
I hope all the mums(and abs) and bubs are all doing well.
The weeks sure are ticking by! I can hardly believe Logan is almost 8weeks old already! We have him booked in to get his first lot of immunisation on Tuesday, not too sure whether to take Jasper along??? Logan still hasnt worked out a regular routine feeds whenever he wants really during the day. At night he is getting better usually having a feed at 8-9pm then not waking till 5am.Getting up once a night is hard enough as it has been getting down to -7 here of a morning:eek: he now weighs almost 6kgs!!and is smiling and gooing away! I cant get enough of those smiles!!:) So hard to catch on camera though! At our 6week checkup Logan was found to have a ear infection, so he has been on antibiotics since,at first he was very unsettled by his tummy must be used to it now.(hopefully)
Well I have both boys awake so I best go tend to them before all hell breaks loose!
P.S. Sushee, where did you get the nappies from that Charile is wearing in his photos? I too am using cloth nappies and am after some better plicher type things. Is that what they are??
-
Anna,
Charlie's cloth nappies are fitted all-in-ones or waterproof pocket nappies. Like a disposable, you pop them on bub without a cover (doesn't need one) and when it's wet/dirty, you pop 'em in the wash. I have a couple of Bummi covers that I bought to use, but have ended up using only the waterproof nappies for now, so the covers have barely been touched even.
Jacci, your son's name is pretty fab too! Lol!
-
they sound great Sushee!! Can you tell me where i can get some? and approx. how much were they? sorry about the 20 questions.
Just updated Logans photo album if anyone is interested?
-
anna - i have 4 new fitted nappies here that i am never going to use but was going to throw out - i am using dispossibles. if u want i can send them to u. they go from newborn to 9 months - they have velcro tabs - mine are only white though
-
Anna, there are so many to choose from! You should check out the Cloth Nappy threads! Some true cloth nuts in there. I am newly converted! I come from a time when cloth meant terry squares. I've learnt so much (and bought so much) since then! But Charlie looks so dapper in his clothies!
Charlie's red one is a bubblebub, my personal favourite, and it costs around $25. But the pocket nappies like the swaddlebees are cheaper and easier to dry too, so i quite like them! Email me and I'll send you some info: sushee@bellybelly.com.au
-
Hi girls,
wow, what a last couple of days here - I take it I said something about birth certificates... and yep, we have our money - went into Jen's account a little while back
Sushee, just noticed Charlie was an IVF'r... so is Jordan - and he continues to be sooo cute, even when he's having a really crappy day
We had our first Parents Group meeting on Friday arvo... Jen reckons she has sussed out some new best friends. One of which she met at the local medical clinic on Saturday - she was there to get a Maxalon script to see if that'll help her milk supply. Ended up with something else, can't remember the name
Only one other guy at the group out of about 15 babies... was his last day of leave, going back to work tomorrow. Had to watch where I was looking a couple of times, as the other mums were pulling out boobs left right and centre to feed during the meeting - we were up one end of the room, next to the lady running the group, so facing back towards everyone
Went through our and bubs names, where they were born, type of birth, age, thoughts about the whole thing etc etc. Plenty of no drug stories, and one girl who had a 10pd baby naturally !!
I'm pretty busy with moving Jen's business website to the same place Belly is hosted, so might be a bit scarce for a little while (stoopid new place treats a file XYZ.doc differently to xyz.doc - I've got major changes to make throughout jen's current design to fix this) - the move will save her well over $1000/yr though
oh, forgot to add... those of you in the capitals, see where your local Chemist Warehouse is (I know they are in Sydney/Melb/Hobart - dunno where else)
Formula and Nappies were cheaper than even when on special at Woolies/Coles etc - at least at my nearest one - gotta go back tomorrow (Monday) to get a fresh batch of insulin that is significantly cheaper there than other places - it's not on the PBS yet ($130/30 days it costs me :( - when on the PBS - hopefully August/Sept, I'll get 5times the amount for the standard $29.50)
-
Hi there,
Well I finally have charlie into some sort of routine (sp?) at night - i feed him about 8 or 9pm and then he wakes up at about 2 am and then doesn't wake up again till 6.30 am - i am very happy with this. (although a sleep in would be nice!!!!) I seem to be more tired now with him only waking up once a night than when he woke up every 3 hours!!
Charlie is smilling heaps more now - as i type this he is lying in his rocker bashing the little stars that hang from it. I think he may turn out to be left handed coz he is always hitting them with his left hand.
Played netball on the weekend, got beaten but didn't pull up sore at all so i am very happy.
Abs - I remember Jordan being very long but i just can't remember how long he was. Has he gotten much longer since birth? Charlie was only 51cm - he is 54 cm now. How much does jordan weigh now. Wish we had a cheap chemist place in portland!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend - I spent the rest of the time ( after netball )renovating my kitchen and putting in the new front garden ( the garden bit was fun!)
Lisa - hope you are doing goo and that everything has settled down for you.
Work - Is anyone missing work???? I am not missing it at all - actually i lie - i miss the people not the work.
Well were off for a walk
-
Theresa - I know how you feel about the grandparents - yesterday mum and dad were here and i asked them to look after charlie for 1/2 hour while i go down the street. When i came back the house was empty and all the doors were locked. they had taken him for a walk - but didn't worry about leaving me a note! - i stressed so much coz i didn't know were my little man was.
Hope the contraception thing doesn't hurt too much. I think i will go and get the one they put in your arm - it lasts 3 years i think.
charlie doesn't sleep much during the day like georgie - but i really don't mind coz he sleeps so much at night and he's not grumpy during the day. Is georgie grumpy during the day or does she just sit in her rocker or just want your attention?
-
Jacci- i would gladly take those fitted nappies off your hands!!!! As long as your sure there is no-one else you can pass them on to? Great news on Charlies routine! Hopefully after a few more days your body will get used to the new routine and you wont feel as tried?? You sure are a busy woman!
Abs- Great that Jen has found some friends with bubs similar age! Makes you feel half human when you hear other bubs are going through similar stages. And you learn soo much off other mums and dads too! As for the birth stories, Im still in shock that I delivered Logan at 9lb12lb without any drugs myself!!!
Theresa- Dont you just love MIL's!!!!Mine is exactly the same re; the whole coke thing! waht are they thinking!!!!! Was reading your post and was going to suggest a swing of some sort but you have already worked that out for yourselves!I really hope it continues to work for you and you get some peace during the day. Also all the best today with OB app. hope you arent put through too much discomfort..
Sushee- Thank you for your help I have sent you an email, I look forward to finding out some more info!
Huge Hello to everyone else!!
Me- we are all doin great Logan is also only waking once a night now so im feeling a lot more refreshed of a morning. Although I have noticed he is feeding every 2hrs during the day now rather than every 4hrs? but if it means less feeds at night i really dont mind. Got a shock yesterday, was dressing Logan into a 000 romper suit and it wouldnt fit him!so my little man is now wearing 00 at 8weeks of age!!
Well another weigh in tomorrow along with his first needles..... Have decided not to take Jasper with, dont think he really need to watch a needle go in to his little brother.
Logan is starting to stir better have a quick shower before he really gets going.
-
KelliC, great pics, she's got soo much hair, cute.
Amanda, that's great. Holly was rolling on her side from about that age, but I never thought to let her try to roll on her tummy until I read ur post last wk & she did. I've got no idea on when they should do what, gees, hehe. :-)
Great results Sooz.
Jacci, ditto, miss the people at work. Oh how scary coming home to an empty house. :-)
Theresa, yay on the wing. A friend used the swing rocker too for her 1st bub & it worked a treat. Hope it doesnt hurt too much for ur IUD. My DH is having withdrawals, as I'm still bleeding. I will start takin the mini pill when it stops, as plan on tryin again when Holly's 6-12mths old.
Cute pickies everyone. :-)
Last Fri (7.5wks), Holly rolled on her tummy (took few mins but she did it) & started going 9-11hrs between feeds at night (from 6-7pm ish), yay. Have the latest smily pic in my ticker, oh so cute, hehe. :-) Also the week before that, she started wriggling her way up the cot, lil monkey, half out of her anti-roll cushions, gees they have some strength in their legs & hands.
-
Shel- Congratulations on Holly rolling on her belly thats great!!
I have no idea at what stages i can expect Nixon to start things. He is 6 weeks old today therfore could start smiling any day, but was 6 1/2 weeks early so i could have to wait a further 6 weeks to see a smile.... Although if he was born @ 37weeks he'd be classed full term and therfore wouldnt be behind so may only be 3 weeks behind schedule?? Who knows...... He has Paed appointment in 2 weeks so will be 2 months old by then & i can ask questions if he is not doing things yet.
I had my parents down interstate this w/e so did not log on, hello to all hope bubs mums dads are all going well!
-
Anna I've emailed you back!
Hey all!
abs, yes Charlie is an IVF bub. He 'took' on our 8th cycle, our 7th transfer. I sometimes can't believe he's here! I remember you posting in the LTTTC thread once, so I knew Jordan's an IVF bub too. Aren't KellyW's twins as well?
Since my last post I've had 2 consecutive nights of 6 and a 1/2 hour sleeps! Charlie fusses like hell in the evenings and doesn't nod off until about 10pm, but then he sleeps to 4.30am or so! I feel a million bucks!
Plus he's just begun to smile when I talk to him. He used to smile at blank spaces previously, but now connects his gaze to mine before cracking a grin. He also laughs if I sing to him (an indictment of my horrible singing voice!)
His paed appts on Wed and my 6 week check is on Tues. Lucky me, at least I won't have to worry about contraception! I can't fall pg naturally anyway!
-
Sushee, yep, Kell's twins are IVF too
Sleep - Jordy is actually passing out at around 5 or 6pm through til midnightish, then up again every 2,3,4 hours etc - ahh well
Jacci, Jordy was only 51cm at birth - I think Melbel who posted my initial details posted the wrong info (I might have sent her the wrong numbers). At his 6.x week check he was 54cm too. Still waiting for some proper full on smiles, though Jen reckons she's seen a few. At birth he was 3290, was 3240 on discharge and was 4640 when we last weighed him (almost 2 weeks ago). We forgot last Friday that where the parents group is held that they have a baby scale. Hopefully we'll remember to weigh him this friday
I wonder how Kelly is going with her work and looking after the twins... Jen isn't getting anywhere near as much as she hoped done. Now wants me to take a 30-60 min break during the day so she can return calls, check emails etc... Will do after lunch, as often stuff is happening workwise around the 12-1 mark
Had more homemade chicken/avocado/etc sushi rolls for dinner tonight - Jen absolutely loves it... tis much nicer than shop bought ones. All it requires is one cup of sushi rice, 4 sheets of the seaweed, one breast of chicken, half an avocado, plus various condiments (soy, ginger, wasabi, vinegar etc) - probably do the whole dinner for well under $10 in ingredients, and we were both very full. This could well be a weekly feast :D
-
Abs- i tried making sushee once but did not turn out well at all, the smell of the seaweed just turned me off, but doesnt normally with bought ones.... we only eat chickn/avacardo ones dont like fish!
Nixon's sleeps are all over the place, during the day he goes 3-4hrs nights well a couple of times he went 6-7hrs but last night was a shocker, i think he is having another growth spurt. i got about 3hrs sleep i think.... I only got out of bed at midday i finally got a further 2hrs after feeding him again and he is still asleep. i was falling asleep whilst he was still sucking and had a massive headache....hopefully he is abit more settled tonight.
-
Nickers,
I know what you mean about Nixons sleeps being all over the place, last night I also only got a couple of hours sleep, I fed her at 1:00am and 04:00am and then she would wake every 10 minutes. She has only had 1/2 hour sleep total this morning as well. I am so tired...Oh well hopefully she settles into a routine soooooon... I may try and keep her awake as late a s possible tonight and see how she goes.
Hello to everyone else....
-
Logans needles went well I choose to hold him while he got them. It was horrible to hear him squeal and cry and he is sooo strong i really had to hold him down poor little man... But after it was all over he fell asleep for about 5mins,then when he woke I gave him a feed and he was back to his usual self! Just hope he is settled tonight, got the baby panadol on hand just in case?
He now weighs 5860gm 12lb 15oz and is 60cm in length and a big noggin at 40.5cm
Hard to beleive 8 weeks have passed so quickly.
Hope you are all well!
