All night sleepers!!! - you girls that are getting all night sleepers - i envy you even though i get a good 6 hours - i remember before having charlie was the last time i got sleep!!!!
Teeth - OH MY GOD at the teeth.
Well this arvo we done the front path - looks great and i have planted the box hedge and picked up the 10 standard roses today. Can't wait till it all grows in.
The front path has white pebbles and big square grey pavers, looks really good, turned out really good
Well I actually feel half normal today - the last 2 nights Charlie has slept from 9.30 til 4 am and then from 4am till 9am/ YEAH!!!!!!!
Theresa - thats the exact reason i'm only having one child!!! - i have enough trouble running around after Charlie! - imagine if i had 2 of them!! - Plus now i'm scared that i'll end up with a screamer of a child next time and not a nice mello charlie!
Had Nixon's check up yesterday stats were weight: 3360/7p4oz (1064g gain since birth) Length: 52cm (4cm gain) HC: 35cm (4.7cm gain)
Now they sound more like newborn stats!
Oh i am so anxous to see him smile, i may have to wait another couple of weeks but i rekon he is so close, tonight esp, he is so alert and google eyed, he has been punching the toys in his bouncer and ive been pulling silly faces just waiting for that first smile!
Last night we gave him 0.5ml Mylanta before his 10.30pm feed. He only chucked once and slept till 4.30am. We also propped his bed up so not lying flat and put a pillow for his upper body on the change table. all these in attempt to help the reflux which si far so good.
Theresa- How is Emma going on the toilet training? I imagine it must be a slow process and have to be very patient!
one trick I did when bottle feeding him the other day was just after wiping his mouth, was to touch his nose, then his chin, then both cheeks... the smile was massive. Talk about melting your heart !!!
Smiling - really is the most amzing thing to have your baby do. i love how Charlies whole face lightsup when he smiles. he always smiles when gavin first walks in the door after work and talks to him. even makes gav's heart melt!!!!
Well we had our appointment at the paed last week, was a waste of time and a $180 really, he wanted Tyron to be checked for a UTI and apart from that said that he was a healthy little boy (well not so little he is nearly 6kg and is 58cm long!!).
So we then thought we wouild have another 2 or 3 months of screaming until we were referred to a local chemist that makes up his own colic/reflux remedy, well I tell you I could go and kiss this man (helps that he is nice looking) but the medicine is working a treat. He still wakes up 2 or 3 times a night, but is just so much more settled in himself, is smiling more and is much calmer! So too anyone that is having the same problem, let me know and I will send you some of what I call the liquid gold!!
Glad to hear that everyone else is going so well!
Will come back and do more posts later, someone has just decided they are hungry!
Morning all! It's been so long since I posted, things just get crazy around here, I don't know how you post so often Theresa, and Em's younger than Janae too! Glad to hear the toilet training is going well.
Josiah has been sleeping really well at night, last feed at 9.30-10 and sleeps until 5-6. It would be nice if he slept after his morning feed, but Janae gets up at 6, so I'm not sleeping then anyway. Got his 6 week check tomorrow (and mine..ewww), so we'll see just how much weight the little guffer has put on. We're getting lots of smiles here too - he mostly smiles at Janae, but I get lots when she's not around!
Jacci, sounds like the reno's are going great. Your front path sounds exactly like ours - charcoal pavers and white stones - we thought we'd do ours for something different, coz everyone's front yards are so boring around here, and then the people across the road copied us! Got some good news about our house the other day, we've been here 12months and the value of our house has gone up about $170,000. SO tempting to sell and rebuild, reduce our mortgage, but the prices are still going up, so we'll sit here for a while yet.
K, off to get Janae away from the tv and get her a bit active - she sleeps so much better at night when she's worn out!
Have a great day everyone
Bel
mmm, just noticed that my ticker is about 3 days behind, have to fix that....

: double posting
Hello Everyone,
I'm with you Bel, I don't know how everyone gets so much time to post...
Olivia has a cold and is really blocked up, she hasn't really slept much the last couple of days as she is unable to breathe out her nose. I'm not sure if it's worth taking her to the doctors or Chemist as I don't know if they can give her anything for it as she is so young. I just hope that she gets over it soon as the lack of sleep is taking its toll on both of us. I also don't have the new medicare card yet?? Anyone know what I do without it.
Jacci.
I hope Charlie gets better really soon. The front garden sounds beautiful.
Lisa,
I canm understand how you would want to kiss the chemist for coming up with a colic remedy that works, hopefully you can get some sleep. How did you hear about him?
Bel,
Yeah to Josiah sleeping so well, the longest Olivia went before she was sick was 5 hours, once her cold clears up hopefully we can get back into some kind of routine.
Theresa,
Yay to Em's toilet training, having only one child in nappies will make life so much easier. Georgie is just beautiful.
KelliC... Sorry to hear that Olivia is sick. Abbey was pretty stuffed up in the nose a couple of weeks ago and we used fess little noses. its saline drops and worked really well. I think you can give them panadol once they are a month old.
Bel.. great to hear josiah is doing so well.Janae must love it when he smiles at her.
Lisa... yeah for the magic chemist!! so glad that he is so much more settled.. it must be doing wonders for your sanity lol
Jacci.. hope charlie feels better soon.
Abs.. we do the nose/chin/cheek thing to and it always makes her smile.
theresa.. great news about the tt.
nickers.. there great stats, he sounds like he is doing really well.
we are doing great, abbey is smiling heaps and talking heaps to. she loves having baths so thats where we are off to now.
Sick - I think my little man is sick - but i don't know how to tell. I have just gotten over the flu and he seems to be a bit weezey(sp?) and he has done 5 or 6 really runny poos in the last 24 hours - its like i feed him and it goes straight thru him - also he really is sooky at the moment and wants his mummy all the time ( so not like him at all)
Lisa - I am so glad you have everything worked out. I hope he stays nice and calm for you. He has gotten so big and so long in such a short time!!!!
Bel - I was the same didn't want the boring concrete path - i made gav rip that up. hehehe. seeing as were doing up and old house we have the typical garden with box hedge and standard roses. Getting the turf laid today - so front yard is nearly done!
We had the same with our last house - as it is by the ocean it jumped 150,000 we were going to sell but then we would of had to pay the same amount to get back into the market. It really is a crap situation unless your moving away.
oh the bath - Jordy hated em at first, but now, he can be going nuts (like he is now ), put him in the bath and he's happy as from then...
got a friend from over the road helping out today (Jen needs to get some work done), so she's gonna try and settle... otherwise we might give him a bath
Speaking of them, how often are you bathing bubs ?? I remember at the hospital, them saying at the early days for may 2 or 3 times a week. We are still doing that... what about others ??
Abbey hated her first bath too, but has loved them since then. Always laughing and kicking while in there. we have a great terry toweling stand for her to lay on which makes it so easy. we bath her every second day or so but she gets dry skin and so we let her soak in the water with alpha keri oil. also bath her if she has an exploding nappy lol
I can't believe this is basically the first time I have been here since Lana was born. She turned 8 weeks old today. We had our 8 week appointment today. She is now 4959gms so doing well.
I am still breastfeeding...I'm a good cow lol. Ummm what else.
Sleeping I get up once in the night and she sleeps great during the day. She has slept through a few times but this is the exception rather than the rule.
Milestones Lana started rolling from front to back at 2 weeks. Shocked the hell out of the health sister when she did it lol. She is considered extremely advanced for her head control. Everyone thinks its great but I feel like I never got my 'little' baby.
I like to cuddle her when she's asleep so I can feel like I have a newborn.
Lana was born with an ear tag. We've decided not to have it removed as it will require an anesthetic which I think she's too little for, especially seeing it's only cosmetic.
She is also developing a strawberry mark on the top of her head. Its about the size of a cigarette burn so far.
But we are all well, now I am off to bed, but I will try to come back on tomorrow to catch up with all the goss. Hope everyone is well
