Wow... I cant believe your bubs have teeth already...... Alexa is still a gummy baldy LOL... she lost all her hair but it is slowly growing back...
She leves fruit, & custart, we have tried... apple, pears, custard, apple & mango, pear & banana, fruit salad, mixed veges, pumpkin, parsnip & corn, pumpkin & sweet corn, carrot & rice (not fussed on this though)... I havent made any for Alexa yet, but when she starts eating bigger meals I am going to make up & freeze food for her.....
She also likes ice cream & chocolate..... like her mummy : )... but didnt like the pork chop jeff tried to make her eat!!!! she puked all over him afterwards LMAO.... that will teach him!!!!!!
I cant believe it will be 8 months since she was born on Wed... time has gone soooo fast!!!!!
-
Wow mitch - 8 months YIKES, where has the time gone. Hehe re Jeff
Hiya Becky, good to hear from you again
Hi Guccibabe... I'm Jordy's dad, and the girls here have let me join in the discussions with their group for almost 12 months now - well I wouldn't go away, my other half is not that fussed on using internet forums but I use quite a few. Whilst I couldn't directly relate to exactly they they were going through, eg during pregnancy, I could associate it with what Jenny was going through, and say "oh yes, so and so has had that or done that etc etc". So I feel at home, and we all get along really well. I can sometimes add a guys view to a couple of things from time to time too
So welcome, and we hope you will continue to be a part of the April group (with a few additions, Mitch and Becky23 were originally due in April but their bubs arrived early)
Big weekend here, Jordy is now scoffing his food, up to 3 "meals" of solids with some formula now. Thank god for Daylight Savings having kicked in. He went to bed at the new 6.30 last night and woke at 6am (with 2 overnight wakes at 12.30 and 4am). He is also all but sitting too... can't wait for parents group on Wednesday, Alexandra who can already sit on her own might have company :D
Hope everyone has a great day and week
-
Becky- love the pics! i agree nice flowers! thats so cute Declan is sitting up by himself now too. When i sit nixon up he just slumps forward and then slowly leans to one side hehe!
Nixon tried yoghurt thismorning! he also liked it but ykk regurgitated doesnt smell to nice!
Oh WTG Jordy on the sitting status! give him a few days he'll be a pro at it!
Hi Bec (guccibabe)- good to hear all is going well with you & Tariq, what a lovely meaning his name has.
-
Morning all!
Welcome guccibabe! This is one of the friendliest groups on the boards, I'm sure you'll love it here!
Mitch, Charlie is a toothless baldy too! Though he's chomped down on me a few times in the last couple of days, so if he's getting teeth, I'm going to have to be careful round him from now on!
Charlie hates banana. And apple. Loves his root veggies, like pumpkin, parnsip, carrots etc. I re-introduce banana and apple every few days. I am not going to have a fussy baby! Lol! Also read somewhere that some babies take up to 10 tastes of a particular food before developing a liking for it. He's having avocado for brekkie today. ATM he's on 2 meals a day only. He has dropped a couple of feeds too, so I'm thinking maybe AF will show up soon?
Charlie still hasn't figured out how to sit up either! He can hold himself upright when supported, but lolls over the minute you take your hands away! ROFL!
Off to look at your pics now Becky! Might check out everyone else's while I'm at it! Gotta see Miss Holly's teeth!
-
Morning all.
Welcome guccibabe! Looking forward to chatting with you.
Josiah still only has the 2 teeth that came through at 4 1/2 months, but that's cool - he looks cute!
He loves pretty much anything I put in front of him. As far as fruit he LOVES pear, not overly fussed on apple on its own. Veges, he loves pumpkin, I just made a big dish of carrot, zucchini and potato and sweet potato, zucchini and broccoli and he gobbles down both of them faster than I've seen him eat anything. For breakfast he likes weetbix & formula (but he only has it once a week coz otherwise he doesn't poo!) and the Heinz apple & oatmeal, apple & banana porridge, pretty much all those little 'breakfast foods' in the jars.
BBL, gotta tend to a screaming child.
Bel

I'm back...
Sush - I stopped feeding Josiah about 6 weeks ago, and still waiting for AF!! Gonna stop the pill when Mark goes in for his hernia op until I get it. I vaguely remembering the same thing happening when I stopped feeding Janae but it has got us a bit worried atm tho! I'm not ready for another bub yet
Just had a look at everyones pics - you all have such beautiful babies! I know some people reckon all babies are cute, but I'm not one of them I'm sorry to say (please dont hate me :o )...so I really mean it when I say they're cute!
GRR, better go, my half hour is up, the master awakes...can't wait until he starts sleeping longer!
Have a great day everyone
Bel
-
I know what you mean about "some people and all babies" Bel ... we had friends visiting yesterday and they think Nicholas is soooo cute. Sorry guys but he aint - same with another couple we know and their daughter
Jen reckons if Jordy wasn't she'd be the first to say so :p
Sushee, re charlies sitting. We were very much like that last week... keep it going and it will literally only be a few days before he's all but got it. I was hunting hi and low for the camera earlier to take some shots of Jordy sitting up - my desk is its usual mess and it was of course underneath something but couldn't find it earlier
He should be awake any second now, seeing he went to sleep at 12
-
Hi everyone,
We have a baldy with no teeth as well, Tyron has been munching on everything for ages, but still no teeth!!!
Bel - I am with you, some babies just aren't cute, they will probably grow up to be the duper models!!!
Welcome guccibabe, you will love this forum!!!
Tyron eats everything too, well vegie wise, he isn't a fan of banana though!!! He seems to be needing 3 feeds a day, do you think that is too much, I get so confused over what i can feed him, how many times a day etc..
He is also sitting up, which makes him so much happier, he can play much better and doesn't get half as frustrated as he used to!!!
I have had AF 5 times now, it is like be 15 again, it is so heavy and revolting, weird thing is, I don't get any stomach cramps like I used to???
Well better get back to work.
-
Yum ice cream & chocky sounds yummy to me too Mitch, hehe. Haha on DH copping the vomit. Our bub's are 1mth & 1day apart. The time sure has flown.
Abs, same here with Holly sitting, last wk she was still toppling, yesterday & today she's staying up for longer again even if leans slightly to side, so getting there.
Hahah Nickers, is vomit ever nice smelling, hehe. :)
Ouch Sush, lets hope Charlie doesn't make biting a habbit or u'll be quite sore.
Bel, yeah they still look cute with teeth I reckon. A friend's 1st bub wasnt very cute as a baby, but is now a very cute lil girl. Their 2nd bub is much cuter.
Lisa, that's prob a good thing on banana. Bought 2 for Holly yesterday & ended up costing $5.15, WTF? Are they ever going to get cheaper I wonder!!! Have to agree with u on the AF front, yeah I havnt been getting bad cramps but dont know if thats coz of Endo removed.
Hair: Hehe, yeah Holly doesn't have much hair either. Not sure if i already mentioned this but Sat night,
Teeth: Holly just wouldn't sleep at first, tried to put her to bed 3-4 times & she just kept crying/screaming, even me pacing the house with her so gave her some panadol & within 40mins was as happy as larry playing. Think it's her front teeth, I'm sure I can see a white spec where 1 might be bout to cut through. Still got runny poos here & for last 2 days, all bar 2 nappies have had poos & it's making her red raw so assume they must be quite acidic, assume from teething too. Been trying canestan, nappy creams & curash.
Food: Gonna try Holly on squash tonight, then banana 3 days later. Not sure when to up her food intake, as only on 1meal at moment. She's drinking 5-6 bottles 200mls (Heinz Nurture) but doesn't always finish them. Her eczema is mostly gone, just a little bit of red beside her mouth occasionally now, so will try apple again shortly & see if its a prob.
Last physio aptmt with Holly this morning. Neck is perfectly fine (from wry neck/lump in muscle) but 1 hip is clicky, just to have it checked again at 9mths at CHC. Mentioned to her we got a walker given to us 2 days ago & is it ok that I'm putting her in it for a short time daily, she said our opinion is they should be banned all together, too many accidents & can restrict/tighten the calf muscles. Hmm, not sure if I should now, but she likes it.
-
hi everyone.
floors are done - yeah.... i'll load some pictures later.
have fun i'll read back
jac
-
good morning everyone.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
As i said earlier the floors have finally been finished and the looks soo much better. Charlie loves them he can push his way backwards on his belly all the way down the hall.
He has taken to spinning himself around on the floor to get a toy - looks soo cute!
Boobs - I'm willing to give up half of my boobs to anyone!!!
Toothless & Bald!!! my little boy is still both of them. He looks like he is teething - coz he has red cheeks and dribbles all the time - but no teeth thru yet! his hair has thickened up a tiny bit but its still nearly white so you can't see it!
Hi to Bec - welcome to our group - we have been lucky to pick up a few new members so far. hope you enjoy it.
Shell - must be a bugger to try and work out what holly can and can't eat!
Well i'll duck off and feed charlie breakfast and then i'll come back and finish my post
-
Jacci, have you spoken to Gavin about that offer !
Still toothless and red cheeked here too, but certainly not bald. He has the most awesome blonde (with a touch of ginger) hair, the amount is almost perfect (needs a little thickening behind his head though)
Theresa, awesome with both Georgie and Em... it must be a relief
Things are cruising here at the moment, we HAVE to clean the fish tank today, the fishies on Finding Nemo have nothing to complain about versus our one at the moment - oops. Just gotta find time - hopefully this arvo.
Oh, Jordy is still only rolling from back to front then gets frustrated big time. No real pulling of his knees up either... Are others doing something so they get the idea to get up on their knees ??
Oh we might not see nickers for a little while - her computer was trying to send me a MSN virus last night, fortunately I didn't activate it (click on a link)
-
abs - bugger Gav - he doesn't have to lug these big boobies around!!!!! hehehe
-
Hi there
REMEMBER ME!!!!!!!
just wanted to say hi!!! and see how you all are. We recently moved 700kms up north coz my other half had a great job offer. We've been here 2 weeks and I really like it.
I spent the last 3 months so stressed about the big move, but now i'm here im so relaxed and relieved its all over.
It was so good to see most of you still around.
lol im chatting to abs on msn right now!!! if anyone else wants to add me on their msn im at kjtrezise@aapt.net.au
Anyway Luke is blossoming and has caught up to his peers (developmentally). They said he would around 6 months. Can you believe this time last yr we were chatting on here.... i thought of that on the weekend...when i was watching the cox plate. I thought of how we chatted about the Melbourne cup....lol
Other than the big move not much has happened.....
I look forward to reading about you all soon...... bye
-
Hi Everyone!
Welcome back jellie!! of course we remember you. So good to hear that luke is doing so well and that your move went good too. You will have to tell us all the exciting things that luke has been up to!
Jacci... lol at the big bbs and charlie sliding on your new floor.
Abs... hope your fishies are in a nice clean tank by now! We didn't do anything to encourage abbey onto her knees, she just did it, and jordy will too in his own time.
Theresa.. So good to hear that both girls are doing so well, and goodluck with starting em back on food, i'm guessing you have to do it really slowly? Abbey gets up on her toes as well and gets frustrated too, she just hasn't worked out that its her hands she needs to move now.
Shell... good to hear that holly's excema is clearing up. Abbeys still comes and goes. She has it atm but hopefully it will clear up soon.
Well, Abbey tried her first solids today! just rice cereal and ebm, she thought it was quite funny and ended up with alot on her face but ate most of it. Will keep her on rice cereal for a bit and see how she copes before trying anything else.
Had PIL here for the weekend which was sending me crazy but they have gone now :confetti:
Other than that not much news, abbey has swimming in the morning and we are also starting to look at houses to buy.
Hi to everyone else and welcome to the newbies!
-
Hi everyone
I'm back from my weekend up at my folks place. Went up for a hen's night which was really good to go out with the girls.
I've just been reading quickly on whats been happening.
We went and got Declan's needles and 6 month checkup last Wed. I can't believe that he is already 6 months and how quickly he is growing. Below are his stats.
Birth: Weight - 3510g, length - 50cms, HC - 35cms
9 days: Weight - 4200g, Length - 53.5cms , HC - 36.5cms
2 months: Weight - 5870g, Length - 58.5cms, HC - 41cms
4 months: Weight - 6950g, Length - 62.5cms, HC - 43cms
6 months: Weight - 8050g, Length - 68.5cms, HC - 45cms
Hair - His hair is finally starting to grow and thicken up thankfully. I can't believe he was such a baldy.
Teeth - Declan already has an eye tooth but no others (he is like his mum and does things differently :D)
Boobs - yep I'm willing to give away half of mine too if anyone wants em.
Food - We started Declan on solids at 5 months (due to doctors recommendations). He loves his rice cereal & the banana multigrain one too, he loves potato, pumpkin and beef, chicken and vegies (carrots, parsnip, peas & corn), apples, pears & bananas (i make all these). He loves chocolate custard (thanks to my mum looking after him that weekend). I'm pretty lucky that he just loves to eat pretty much anything. He love his rusk sticks too.
Milestones - Declan can sit by himself and is almost crawling (he seems to go backwards atm which he doesn't mind)
PPAF - she's still MIA so you won't hear me complaining until it comes time to TTC again.
Abs - how did cleaning the fish tank go?
Jacci - Declan has been doing the samething as Charlie re: spinning to get his toys. Isn't it just adorable. He has also taken to pushing himself backwards if he wants other things ie. getting into our bookcase today
Theresa - Good to hear the girls are doing well
Shell - How did the squash go down with Holly?
Mitch - wow 8 months already, she'll be 1 before you know it (sorry but that's the way I'm feeling atm and Declan's only 6 months, the time just flies by)
Becky - I love the pics. Oh and great pick on the name for your boy ;) LOL
Sushee & Nic - How are you guys going?
Just wanted to say hi & welcome to guccibabe.
Sorry if i missed anyone but gotta go check the chook that I have on for dinner.
-
Hi all again!
Just got back from netball - had a win!
Lisa - just a quick qst - were did you get Tyron's Tux from?? charlie gets christened in 6 weeks.
Well better go start organising my christening invitations.
Jac
-
qst - does charlie have to wear white at his christening?
-
well i am here.... hmm sorry about that abs. my friend sent me a link (well i thought she did) and silly me clicked on it... then my msn started sending the same link to everyone in my msn. anyway think its been resolved now, dh has been doing something on here hopefully fixing it. but he also took off msn so will have to re install it some time.
Nixon has been one upset boy today. doing my head in..... His 2nd tooth seems to be coming through with his first so he is not a happy chappy.... i hope this doesnt last too much longer is all i can say!
Jacci i will pm u the place Lisa got Tyron's tux from , its an online shop they r based in Syd. i know cause i got her to send me the link & i got Nixon an outfit from there to! (taylored pants & vest 4 his christening) 6 weeks should be enough time seings i think i only gave them 3 weeks to get ours done!
Are your floors nice and shiny!
Abs- Nixon has forgotten to roll so the most he moves is around on his back in a circle lol! Then on his tummy he gets frustrated and wont roll himself onto his back. I think it will b sometime b4 he figures out this crawling business. im not really complaining i know i put him somewhere he is pretty much there (maybe just turned around) when i return!
Amanda- glad Abbey liked her food! good luck house hunting. are u looking in the same area u r now?
-
Hi Jacci,
You can borrow Tyron's tux if you like, I will send it to you??
I think it depends on what kind of christening is it catholic, if so I think they have to wear a proper christening gown??
-
Hi Jellybean, long time no see, Mitch, Becky23 & Jaime have been popping in from time to time too just recently. Hope I haven't missed any of the born in march due in april group.
Theresa, xlnt news on things looking up.
Amanda, hope the eczema makes a final departure for both of them. :)
Abs, we had a 4ft tropical fish tank for yrs (had coldwater fish for yrs b4 that) & 4yrs ago sold it all, was just becoming a pain cleaning & looking after the levels & the cat loved to scare the fish. Don't envy u there, although I do love fish, I hate the responsibility that goes with it, hehe.
Oh Melbo & Jaime, r u around? Hows things with u?
Jacci, yay on the floors being finished.
Oh Nickers, lets hope that tooth comes thru or stops hurting.
Holly's sitting almost unassisted now & is also pushing herself backwards on hands/knees & rocking back/forward. Her lil red tushie is getting worse, to the point there are raw broken skin areas. The runny poo just keeps coming in small doses, almost every nappy change. She had a slight temp again the other night, still blaming her front top teeth. Well she doesn't love squash (thnx Amy), but ate it anyhow, banana next, then there's 4 more to try on the 6mth list (pear, swt pot, beans).
-
yay the fish tank is finally done - we started it before dinner, the fish swam in a large bucket whilst we ate, then we finished it afterwards
Jordy can see his friends quite easily now :p He loves to stare at the tank (not anywhere near as big as yours Shell - and it has 4 "goldies" in it, 3 are goldfish, the other is something similar but all silver). Our white cat over the years has had a couple of paw swipes at it, but neither of em now pay it any attention
Good to chat to you Jelli, but I was in the middle of fixing up something for work - finally finished it about an hour ago (hmm, some times working from home has its bad sides - but I'm not really gonna complain)
-
Shell... try Daktozin for holly's nappy rash, it worked wonders for abbey. hope the teeth come through soon.
Abs.. glad your fishies can now see the view lol
Nickers... hope your computer is better. We are looking to buy in a newer area of town and maybe even build but not sure yet.
Jacci... congrats on your win. I think its alot more relaxed with christenings these days and you can do what you like, but i would check with who was doing it just to be safe.
Amy welcome back...declans stats are great.
Ok i have a couple of questions:
1st for those who are FF.. about how much were they having at 6 weeks? SIL is FF and is giving her DD 210mls, it just sounded like alot to me. She will be overtaking abbey in size before long.
2nd.. for those that have had AF return, were your cycles a bit out of whack at first? I have only had AF once but am a bit over a week late now  no real chance of being pg (that i can remember lol) so I was thinking that it might be because i am still bf?
-
guccibabe, I have added your details to the front page.
-
amanda, 210mls would be far too much
Is her baby actually drinking it all ? we were probably only doing 150mls at that stage (our formula is 1scoop / 50mls) but doubt he was drinking it all
Jen's on AF #5 - and yes they are irregular
Jordy finally demolished all of what Jen had made for him solids wise. He seemed sooo much more comfy in the seat today and he could easily see me sitting at my desk whilst Jen was feeding him at the table
-
at 6 weeks i think Nixon would have been on about 80mls lol!
nixon was christened in a catholic church & did not wear traditional gown.
His outfit was beige and pants/vest/collard shirt.
Nixon tried zuccini thismorning. another tick there, i am wondering if there is anything he will turn his nose up at! (well will be good if there is not)
Went for a good 1hr walk today it was just so nice outside i just kept going! Nix was asleep so he didnt care!
-
Charlie was also christened in a Catholic church and was the only child there in white. One child was in jeans and a t-shirt.
Avocado was a hit! Must try zuchinni next Nic!
-
Alexa had only just gone on to bottle feeds from tube feeds & was only on about 45mls!!!
She still only has 180mls now !!!!
-
Happy 8 months Alexa!!
how funny, when Nixon came home from hosp he was on 65mls! seems like nothing now. i remember when he first started feeding (through the tube) and they started on 2mls.... then every few feeds they uped it by 2-4mls. we were cheering when he got to like 16mls etc!!
-
Yup.... know that feeling Nic..... One of the NICU Nurses made Alexa a 2kg certificate.... it is so cute... it is in her Album now along with all the bits & pieces, like monitor leads & splint & bits & pieces,...
Time has flown by it is scary... in 4 months it will be her 1st birthday OMG!!!!!
-
ohhh wish we had of kept some of the leads etc....How cute for a 2kg certificate hehe!
we did get the little sunnies that velcroed onto his head when having photo therapy, i have them in his album!
-
We tried Avocado at lunchtime... will need another go or two, he seemed a bit unsure about it, then scoffed his sweet potato
Just found a much easier way to get him in and out of his high-chair... lean the seat back !!! Why didn't we think of that soooo much sooner
Happy 8months Alexa !!
-
Thinking back it probably was under 100mls each time... not 150. Seems sooo long ago him being only 6 weeks old
Well this arvo was interesting. He wouldn't sleep at about 3pm - he was due for one
As the arvo wore on, he got grumpier and grumpier, but well it gets to a point that no way are you going to bed yet. Finally around 5.30, I took him upstairs, put a bottle in his gob which he drained quick smart.
In the 14 seconds it took for me to get the bib off him, get the handtowel over his front and sit him up to burp him, he was sound asleep. No neck control at all. I had no chance of any sort of control over his head
Called Jen in and she burst out laughing. He half woke when she tried to lift his head, and lights out again 2 seconds later
That's my boy - got him into his cot without even trying to be quiet. Simply put him in his grobag, tucked him in, turned out the lights, a nice cuddle between us outside his door and cracked up laughing... he was sooooo cute
-
Morning all
Lisa - what size suit is Tyrons? Charlie is in a 0 at the moment.
FF - charlie was only on 80mls at 8 weeks - i was still breastfeeding till then.
Shell - my floors are great - charlie loves them he slides around everywere - i will put a before and after shot up later
Bad Nappy Rash - charlie had really bad nappy rash about a month ago - to the point were it was cracked and even started to blister - i tried every sort of cream, in the end the health nurse said that there was an old wifes tale she had hear that you put the white of an egg on it and let it dry. I had tried everything, so thought might as well give it a go! and it worked! (don't ask me how) All i did was beat the egg whites a little bit then put it on his bum - let him play on the floor and it dried, then left it about 1/2 hour gave him a bath and it didn't look anybetter - but within a few hours it was heaps better, I did it about 2 or 3 times over the next day and now it is good. Might work for you. ( also might have just been a coincidence!!)
Sleep - Charlie slept thru all the way last night till 7am - from 8.30pm - I didn't have to get out of bed once - was so good!!!!
Nickers - I kept all the tubes and stuff from when charlie was flown to melbourne - I would never have thaught of it but the nurse told me to take it. Good job on the walk!
I have been taking Charlie to netball, basketball, racketball & tennis - and it amazes me that he can be sooo tired when he gets there but the minute i start playing any of these sports he just sits in his pram and watches everyone run around - he won't go to sleep at all he just likes to sit and watch the world go by.
he has a really bad weeze at the moment, his nose is running and he has a cough - we are going to the MCHN today to get him looked at, I get so stressed about it coz he had those lung problems when born.
-
Hi Jacci,
Tyron's suit is a size M or for babies 6 - 9 months, Tyron is pretty big like Charlie. It is so cute though with the little bow tie!!!
Hi everyone else, sorry got lots of work to do, will be back later.
-
Hi ladies
we went to a Day Care centre earlier today... looking at maybe 2 days a week :( Gotta think of the positives of interaction with other bubs/children. The place is new (<2 years old) and large. Faciilities look good and is next to the centre management of a large shopping centre - means we could do the groceries after dropping Jordy off
And can get in basically right away since it's only 2 days. Looking at maybe end of November though
This is scary stuff - handing bubs off to someone else
-
Abs - I was looking at putting charlie into care - on day a week because he either comes to work with me or he goes to my mum's he is starting to get very clingy to both of us so i thouight it would do him good to go somewere else. I just don't like the fact that i won't be with him! luckily one of my best friends runs the centre so i know she will keep an eye on him.
Hope the daycare is good for you.
-
Lisa - I'll get charlie measurment and then you can tell me if it will fit
-
Thnx Amanda, the poo's seem to have subsided for now & nappy rash is looking alot better but still there. Wow haven't heard that one Jacci, thnx.
AF, I've had 2 or 3, 2mths, 4mths & 6mths & weaned for 3wks up to 6mths.
Holly had only a couple of formula feeds around 2-3mths, 1 satchel of S26Gold = 120mls, from memory she wouldn't drink it all.
At 6mths 130-180mls, 7mths 180-200mls.
Oh Jacci, hope he's feelin better real soon.
Abs, the childcare near us opened in May & is also large, has 5 rooms for diff age groups up to 5yo's. Holly went from being very sooky when friends/rels wanted a hold to happy to be held, she's there 2days/wk. Yes it was scary at first. :)
-
re Childcare: We asked about just one day a week, but they have a minimum of 2. So chosen Tuesday and Thursday - I think we will go with this place.
