LOL - what aren't I buying??
The kids are getting a trampoline from santa so thats a big purchase, otherwise a little tike rock and twist - like a keyboard and microphone thing...umm, fisher price kitchen, Louis is getting thomas stuff, Lots of little things like leapfrog fridge magnets and some little puzzles/games, Playdoh, art and craft pack, a new bag each, then I'm getting stuff for the baby like the playskool discovery dome and sit to stand giraffe thing...Oh and I just added some dvd's for Louis - I've never bought them before but he's really into movies at the moment so I'm getting him ice age 1 & 2, finding nemo and cars!
I know most of it is completely unecessary but I can't help myself...
I've written a list for the target sales in a few weeks as well but there's no prices yet so that usually determines what I cross off the list...
But, I'm going to get Dylan those little crayola crayons/textas/paints - you know the chunky ones with the little animal characters?? and stuff for the bath and a new little couch each for the new house, wiggles microphone, a wiggles playpen for the baby, Louis is getting a sesame st drum kit from nanna, Oh and if they're not too expensive the cars adventure ride for outside and a wiggles boat race set...
I'm going to get my butt kicked from dh though...I swear I have the most spoilt children in the world...(especially since we don't have that much money!!!) But they don't act spoilt yet so as long as they're appreciative and have good manners I don't mind - if they start making demands then it will all stop! Louis is very good in the shops and likes to have a look at something but always puts it back and knows we can't take it home which is pretty good for a 2yo...
Anyway...the toy catalogues haven't even come out yet from gymbaroo so I'll be in extra big trouble then...I spent about $300 on those last year...they're really good for lots of little crafty things that you don't tend to see in the big shops...great for stocking fillers...
so many toy sales - big w tonight, kmart next week? target the week after? arghhh.
Ahhh well. Climbing playgym, definately. Am debating whether to send a photo of the side area of our house to BH&G and begging them for help in making it "kid friendly" - they want a challenge don't they? No sun ... heavy clay ... should be challenge enough ...
Doc put me on new meds (there's another thread to be created about that though!) and they are having strange side-effects.
Kris - I envy you having not much stuff! dh is a hoarder, and won't let me toss junk out. I love the name Ethan though, that's just lovely.
I sorta feel jealous at all the preggo bellys that you have!!
Jen - funny you should mention shopping! Last night was the first time I let Pip walk around woolies, he was so gorgeous carrying his peanut paste bottle :)
And yesterday was definately a fish day, we had grilled salmon with potato gems for tea. Still don't know what's for tea tonight though!!!
*hugs* to all
kaz
Kaz, Lol at sending your photos to bh & g - it's worth a try!
A climbing gym is a great idea...I forgot to add that Dh is going to build a big cubby with sandpit underneath but not sure if we'll have time before xmas...might be for Dylans next b'day!! Or might just be whenever it gets done...LOL - we want to have a slide and everything coming off the side...was thinking of a swing set but I think Dylan will just get into way too much mischief with it...
Broken bones for sure...
Sorry to hear the medication isn't agreeing with you...I'm sorry I can't remember what they were for???? (Can I blame p/g brain??)
It'll be your turn for a prego belly next Kaz!!
Kaz, great to hear from you. I'm pretty sure that KMart starts tonight too though. Don't want you missing out!
Kris, are you going to be one of the army-roll-under-the-door-crazy-ladies that arrive an hour before the shop opens? LOL I am still undecided whether I can be bothered going. I really only want the one thing. Oh and Disney Pictionary for myself :)
Oh yeah - everyone better stay out of my way! LOL! No...not at all...there'd be a big problem if they sold out of stuff the first night and if they do it's all the better for my wallet!
I've never gone to stocktake sales or anything like that so this is a first for me...I went to the toy sales last year but just the next morning but I won't have that luxury tomorrow as Louis is to big so I can't take him with me - he remembers what we get - and my mum is working night shift tonight so can't come and watch them tomorrow...
Dis...I really wouldn't bother going tonight if it's only for 1 thing...I'm sure they'll have them if you go tom or even on the weekend....
Yeah, I'm thinking I'll probably just duck in tomorrow. I'll be disappointed if they're sold old, but it won't be the end of the world!!!
Good luck Kris :)
OMG so much shopping talk here...cant afford it, but might go layby...naughty!
Been super busy at work and also have book work needing to be done:(
Went to bed last night at 9pm and slept til about 630, so feeling good. Scan is on 14th July, 12 days to go. All is good though.
Am going to shower and then bed..night
I thought I'd come in here after being away from the computer all day yesterday and have a lot of catching up to do! I guess everybody is busy buying toys!
We didn't end up making the sales. Might stop by this weekend if I have the energy.
Ben has been a bit sick. Took him to the docs yesterday since I had to have my checkup anyway (see my sick day was at least half-justified!) and the doc said he just has an inner-ear disturbance from his cold. He's been falling down when he turns his head and vomitting a couple of times too. Seems fine now though, but he's been sleeping a lot - can't complain about that!!!
Wow Mel, I can't believe you're 19 weeks already!!! I'm looking forward to next Thursday, I'm hoping the magical anti-nausea switch will be hit right on 12 weeks :)
Hope you're all well :)
Hi!
Well, I did make it to the sales...Omg...got there at 12pm and shopped for about an hour and then didn't get back to the car until 4.30am the lay by lines were so long!!! OMG! Didn't get home until 5.15am...So I got a bit of sleep before the kids were up at 7.15 and then snoozed while they watched a bit of tv and then felt like a zombie all day! LOL! I got mostly what I wanted though except I noticed they hadn't laybyed the trampoline properly - only the enclosure - so I have to go back today to get that fixed! So annoyed!
Luckily dh came home yesterday and let me have a sleep - he even cooked dinner and cleaned up - WOW!!! So had a relatively early night last night so feeling ok today...I have a feeling I'm low in iron though so must start taking some tablets...
Off to a BB meet up in Berwick today so that should be some fun...Cindy's going but other than that I won't know anyone! Will be good for the kids to have a play and to meet some people from over that side...
We're heading back tomorrow as well to do some house hunting which will be exciting! I hope we see something we like!!
Melissa - Yeah at getting so much sleep! I got a solid sleep last night from 10.30-7.45 this morning - I can't remember the last time that happened...I'm not sure if dh was up - I think I was too out of it to notice! LOL!
Disgirl - Sorry to hear Bens been sick...I hope you feel better soon too!
K better get organised or I'll be late! Chat later!
Hiya!
Wow kris - you are a shopper alright! Hope the boys appreciate it! I went and had a look at Kmart yesterday but everything was too big for our current house or just looked like something he already had IYKWIM? I am going to wait until we move. Also I would like to buy him some timber toys which the big chains dont really carry....glad DH was such a sweetie for you and had you had a great sleep too! It must be hard to keep up your iron being vego?
Dis - Sorry Ben is not well - is he on antibiotics to clear it up? Poor munchkin!
Mel - Yeah its only that I got my tax cheque I could even go and look! But that said I want a new stroller fpr Beau as we are still in the pram - I was going to get a Maclaren with tough wheels for lots of walking. Any reccommendations anyone?
Us - Beau has slept til 6:45 the last two days which has been blissful - he has a snotty nose so I dont know if that helps :) But we are cleaning today as DH has him tomorrow as I am working and we have the dreaded inspection :( So we just swept up the leaves up the side in the wet and Beau was very helpful with the broom - cutie! Had mum and her husband over yesterday for lunch which was nice and Beau was very cute of course so Grandma thinks he is an angel (which he is!) DH got a decent payrise yesterday too - anither $120 a week which will help us out until we move even more. (he has a massive tax bill from last year so it will go to that really).
We got dressed to go out before and I opened the door and it was freezing and p***ing down - so we are inside with the heater on listening to the new Coldplay album.
Better go and think about putting him down for a nap I guess....he is very quiet playing on the floor sucking his juice so must be tired. He is very cuddly today and loves sitting on my lap atm putting his head on my chest awww.
Im babbling so hi to Kel and Kaz and Von (hello how did DH take the news????)and Erin too and anyone else around!
Hello, today I have been madly food shopping, banking, cleaning and now I have to catch up on all of the book work before I go pick up Olivia from day care, so we can entertain tonight!! Spewing I couldnt make it to berwick today kristie, hope your having fun. I did think about going, but I have to do this bookwork as today is the only day I have without Olivia before the girl comes to finish off what I cant do.
Kristie-have fun house hunting. Theres a house down the road from us up for sale...i think it has 4 or 5 bedrooms, garage backyard and walking distance to schools, but its springvale south, so a little bit of a different area. Gees your good at shopping, I would have cracked it in the layby section. I got the big w catalogue yesterday and found
some things...just got to clear it with the money maker!!!
Mel-hope your m/s switch turns off too at 12 weeks. What a bugger. I cant complain, I just had nausea.Hope bens feeling better soon.
Jen-Wooden toys are good fun and good on ya for resisting the temptation to buy when you dont have the room. good luck with the inspection tomorrow, sending you loads and loads of selling vibes!!!
Hello everyone else,
My free time on the computer is almost up, got to get this stuff done, take care and have a great weekend:)
Hi girls,
Kristie, you and your toy fetish!! LOL, your boys must have every toy imaginable! Its great that you're so organised though. I went to Big W early (about 8.30) on the morning the sales started and OMG, the people!!!! I just had a quick look and then left, LOL! I jsut couldn't do it to myself. I will be going back tomorrow to make a layby though, I'm hoping there will be less people then...
Kaz, I hope your medication has settled and is working for you and you're feeling better. Hows the new job?
Dis, I hope Ben is feeling better. This weather wouldn't be helping much, it's sooo cold here at the mo!!
Jen, yay that Beaus sleeping better. Lily has been too, most nights it's only one wake up lately. We have the occaisional crappy night, but mostly it's good. And DH has been letting me sleep most nights he's home from work, so I am feeling pretty rested, though most days I could still fall asleep at about 3.30pm! I start dozing when Lily watchs New McDonalds farm. Maybe it's just the show, it bores me to tears! Not geared at 30yr olds I guess :p
WOW at the $120 pay rise, that's a pretty generous rise! I wish we could get that much!!
Mel, sounds like you're a busy bee, I hope your night was good. I love days to myself where I can do what I need to and actually finish doing what I started. Half the time I have a sink half full of dishes or the washing is still in the washing machine and goes stinky cause Lily wakes up or gets whingy.
As for us, we have had a really good few days. Lily has been good mostly. I think its cause DH is home for a few days too. He runs around with her and takes her down to the garden to play, which I'm finding I'm doing less now. It's just such an effort. I take her out on our balcony, but it's not outside outside!! And I get so puffed and a bit dizzy going up and down the stairs. I'm scared I'll fall with her. She gets sooo excited when we go out the door, even if it's just to get the mail, LOL!
My mum brought a puppy yesterday too. A golden Lab, shes soo tiny and sooo cute!! Lily is so funny iwth her. SHe's a bit scared of her cause she bites her pants and runs after her when she walks. But she won't leave her alone, whenever she can't see her she has to go find her and harass her!! So she deserves what she gets LOL!!
Ok, sonna go and have a shower I'm freezing, even though the heater is on! Might turn it up....
Happy weekend ladies :D
Ohh Kel, I'm glad Lily's enjoying the puppy! It'll be a good friend for her. Someone to nabber to, non-judgemental.
Saw the doc today, the meds are still giving side-effects, the doc wants to see DH but he's flatly refusing. oh yay. Still ahven't done the other post!
;
Kris - OMG, you shoppaholic you!
*sighs*
Anyhows, Pip has decided he's a limpet. today when I dropped him at CC he just cried and wouldn't let go. First time. Ever. Wondering if he's been affected by his fall, and that I caught him. Ahhh well.
Jen - I think wooden toys are so much better - nowhere near as commercialised!
Hi everyone,
Wow Kirs I'm still thinking how cool it would be to come & live at your house!!! I can never decide what I want & by the time I have it's too late & Charlie misses out LOL. But this year I'm getting on top of it.
I love this layby til Christmas...awesome & living in a rural area is the best. Target had a pre "layby"day & the shop was empty...I just walked in & said I'll have the swing set & done. Now I just have to pay it off but the price is fantastic. I had put one on hold at Toyworld & have told them no thank's - it's $120 less at target & has more on it. So Charlie is getting a swing set from Santa, and ?'ve already decided to get him some undies & TT stuff (boring I know). That's as much as I've thought so far, but they don't have many toys in Target here normally as its a country target....so slowly getting ready for the sale they are taking out some clothes & moving the toys in & you can see early what they have. Have you guys seen the TMX Cookie Moster soooo cute, think Charlie will be getting one of those.
Also for those who love to bargain hunt, Crazy Sales & Deals Direct are great sites. My parents have got Charlie a battery operated quad bike online for an absolute bargain...that's his Chrissy present from them.
We bought a house, finally we found one here that we like & they accepted our offer. So I'm getting a little excited about decorating etc...even though we own a house in SA we didn't live in it long before moving. So this is the first time we actually have our own home. Charlie is getting a circus theme room.....oooooh can't wait to move in!
Who here has bubs that feeds themselves with a spoon? Charlie has been moved up to the bigger room at daycare & is starting to pick new things up. He now insists on feeding himself, so very cute but wow it takes soooo long & such a mess LOL I hate mess. Anyone else letting them do it? How's it going?
Wow I can't believe all the growing bellies in here. I acutally get a little anxiety/panic attack at the thought of when we will have our next. Not sure why, but oh well. Think we just need to settle in our home & then expand our family.
Kirs I wish my DH was like that, he's been in America for almost 3weeks....arriving home tomorrow & the morning could not come quick enough. I will welcome the help & some form of relaxing with very open arms.
Charlie still wakes once a night but sleeps til at least 7.30 or a bit later most mornings so that I love.
Anyone's bubs still having 2 sleeps a day? Charlie doesn't sleep very well at Daycare & is bed very early on a daycare night, but when home with me still has 2 sleeps a day...unless we are out & it's just one big one.
Hope you are all well & had a great weekend. Take care.
heys Erin :)
Pip's been feeding himself with a spoon & fork now for about a month - I generally have one at every feed too, so it takes a bit less time and I know he actually gets something in his mouth :)
I haven't made it to the sales yet, maybe tomorrow. we'll see. And I know what you mean about the next bub! I want to start trying in August, but DH wants to wait until I finish this course of meds ... about 9 months. I sorta understand where he's coming from, but that'll make Pip around 3! Too old!
Anyhows, he's been sooky today. cried from around 10pm till 3:30am (we gave panadol @ midnight!) and then from about 7:45 until 3pm today. No idea why. Argh. Hopefully tonight will be a sleep night for us all.
Dream well ladies.
Hey all,
Erin- I have been letting Olivia feed herself on and off for a little while, but cant handle the mess, especially when she wants to flick it around and tip the bowl. gnerally if its finger food, like peas and corn or sausages, I'll let her go for it, but stuff like mash potato and weetbix or yoghurt...thats mine to give her. Also shes been having one sleep since xmas last year and sleeps for a few hours after lunch. Kinda suits me. Fantastic you bought a new house. Good luck deciding when to expand the family, I saw youre a bit worried about it in your other thread. you'll know when youre ready.
Kaz, I must have missed the bit about your meds. Are you ok??? Hope Pips less sooky today for you.
we havent been toy shopping yet x```````````nAREC but i have pic ut a few`` thibgs.
off to playdays soon.....better go b4 olivia deletes my post
Hi All,
Just a quick one for me - had a busy weekend and yesterday was spent entertaining Beau in the car on the way up the coast (yay for laptops and dvds) and then he wouldnt sleep at MIL's casue of all the kids to watch so he slept the WHOLE way home - ahhh what bliss - its never happened before!
Sometimes I let B feed himself - if its non sloppy stuff like Mel said - we share a bowl of porridge in the morning which is a fight on the couch to keep it steady but he is learning a little! Finger foods of course but he wants the whole container of yoghurt etc and screams for it so then its nothing.
Hey Kaz have your new meds settled for you over the weekend? The only indoors sweaty excercise I know of is DTD and I am sure you dont feel like that LOL! Hope pip gives you some rest tonight, and you have been thru the ringer the last year or so with new bub, jobs, reno's, pips recent fall.....take it easy on yourself - hope DH is treating you like a princess atm.
Ok I can smell Beau's bum from here and I am pretending to be doing an invoice!
Love to all, hope you are all well
