Mel, what Kris said is exactly right :) They are just sponges right now and pick up on everything. Ben is obsessed with knowing the name of everything in the entire world and asks "That..?" a million times a day! I just make sure I chatter all the time, explaining what I'm doing "Mummy's washing up the glasses now and next I'll do the dishes", "Mummy's putting daddy's blue shorts on the clothes line now, can you hand me a red peg?" They pick things up so quickly. Also, Ben loves to draw and has to tell us what colour he's using so that helps re-inforce his colours. He also likes to 'count' because his daddy always counts his bath toys each night. His idea of counting though is to just make a different sound each time he points to something new. Don't forget reading too, having Liv point to the sun, trees, dog etc in a book is a good way to prolong a book. Especially if you've already read it 14 times that day
Shape and colour sorting games are big in our house atm too and those wooden jigsaw puzzles. Blocks are alright - until he throws the at the poor unsuspecting dog  As with Kristie, Ben loves to help around the house. He helps daddy a lot, and especially feeding the dog. Don't forget, all of that is teaching them things and they find it all fascinating.
I also give Ben a lot of choices at home, mostly to do with food. Asking him if he would prefer an apple or a peach, yoghurt or a biscuit. I think it makes him feel more valued and responsible? I don't really know but I never have a problem getting him to eat! I also try to avoid saying "No!" unless it's dangerous and urgent. If he asks for a biscuit before dinner, instead of saying no, I'll say "We're about to have dinner, you can have a biscuit or yoghurt after dinner". Most of the time it works, other times he just thinks that it means he can't have a biscuit, but he'll try for a "gogurt"
Bascially Mel, just go with your instincts. As long as you are spending time with Olivia (really spending time, not just in the same room iykwim), she'll be learning from you. :)
Geez, I must be bored at work today - look how long I've rambled on  Sorry about that!
-
Hi girls,
Gee it's been a while since I've written anythign!
I just can't find the time and motivation lately. I do keep up with what's going on though And this week has been a busy one for us.
Dis, you're lucky getting a big sleep in, we don't, well...we did I guess til 6.30, it wasn't 5am, but wowee, 6.30 sleepin!
My mum sounds like yours, she's got so much time and patience for Lil, no matter how monstrous she is!
Kris, take it easy!! You are heavily pg with two babies!! Sounds like you're getting sorted in your house.
Mel, glad to hear all is well with bub, time is flying by so fast!! Before we know it bub will be here!!
You are a good sahm!! You're teaching Olivia stuff just by being with ehr. You don't need to actually teach her at this age. She's picking up on everything that's happening around her, just immerse her in interesting things, (just things like bubbles, painting, going shopping, going to the park...not anything special!) and she will learn. Talk about what you're doing and why and it will all sink in, she's a sponge at this age....pretty much what the other girls said!
We have been busy this week, Monday it was grocery shopping and dinner at my bro's, yesterday we had my SIL and neice and nephew over, as well as a friend her bub, today it was playgroup and to mums for a while, tomorrow there's a BB meet up that I will go to (any other sydney girls want to come??), Friday it's a visit from my aunt and cousins! Woah, I haven't had a week so busy for aaaages!! It's good though since DH is working and I am keeping busy, no time to wallow in self pity when the kids grumble at the same time, or that I'm so tired! Hehe, talking about tired, I fell asleep on the lounge at mums today, LOL! She was talking to me from the kitchen, and watching Lily (who loves to demolish cupboards, and mum lets her do it at her house) and when she came back to the lounge room I was asleep with Liam on my chest! I just can't sit still, or I fall asleep.
Lily is talking so much this past week or so and she's started to put two words together, like 'car nanny?' (are we going to the car to go to nanny's?), 'bye dada', 'go car?' (are we going to the car?), 'ta dat' (ta that). We went to playgroup for the first time today too and she had an absolute ball! She ran herself ragged! She fell asleep in her carseat before I could even get Liam into the car!
Took Lily to the specialist about her ears the other day. She has glue ear pretty badly he said. He has put her on a dairy free diet to try to get rid of it, but said her thinks she will need grommets. We have to wait 3wks (or if she gets an infection) and go back to see if the diet works, if not then it's grommets. :(
Ok Hi to everyone else I missed, I hope everyone is going well and your bubs are being nice to you, LOL! Time to go....
-
Just a quick one...
Kel - Wow - sounds like a very busy week! I agree though - sometimes your better off getting out and about thatn spending too much time at home...just need to try and balance it with enough sleep though (I know easier said than done!) Sorry to hear about Lily's ears...poor little thing - at least if the diet doesn't help you know the grommets will! Great to hear she had such a fun time at playgroup though! Her words sound like they're coming along really well also!
Ok..well I've wrapped Louis b'day pressies so we're all ready - I wanted to do some decorating but looks like it will all have to wait until his party on Sat...I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner and of course he said chippies...I suppose it's his choice - LOl!
Chat later...
-
Good Afternoon Ladeez,
Well I have just snuck on here when I should be painting posts for our front fence but you know when you just want to relax? LOL - I hurried thru the second coat now I am bludging while B is asleep!
Mel- Glad you midwife appt went well - I feel like you do about Olivia - am I doing all the things I could be doing with Beau? I think I am pretty good but like you say Kris, I have been busy packing and unpacking too so I feel a bit neglectful! I guess the water has taken over for us a bit in the past few weeks. Olivias gadget box sounds pretty spec! I havnt mentioned it in here for fear of sounding like a weirdo but Beau's favourite thing is the bamix! He cries and cries for it pointing at the cupboard and clicks it togehter and makes the wizzing sound! Such a bizarre boy! Its all cracked now and was $200!!! We looked for a cheap one for him on the weekend to wreck:doh:
Kris - Happy Birthday Louis!! Are you dipping into your special Xmas stash for the prezzies Kris? I hear you on not being able to find sticky tape!! Thats cute about his chippies - if we were all so easy to please huh? I remember Louis slept for the first time in a big boys bed at his Nanna's house - when was that? It was when you were PG with Dylan? Just planning ahead....
Dis - Congratulations to your mum on her patience with Ben and how much she obviously adores him - I mean she is doing it a lot too - not here and there like most Grandmas. What kind of pencils/crayons/pens/paints does he have? I want to load Beau up with some but DH freaks when we are at the shop that he isnt old enough. I think beacuse when we play with the chalkboard he eats the chalk!! I tried getting a magna doodle but they had no stock.
Kel - So glad to hear you are keeping so busy, guests are tiring but its great showing off your new man I am sure. LOL at you falling asleep at your mums, bless, must have been a really sweet sight with you and Liam on your chest. Poor Lil with her ears, hopefully her diet helps and she doesnt need the grommets. What were the specific symptoms that she had the ear problems?
Us - Doing really well, Beau seems a bit better the last two days and I spotted an upper molar all the way thru when he was giggling last night, that makes 3 now. He is obsessed with his "buckie" - bucket, atm and sitting in the sand or dirt or water! He has a really runny nose tho so I am trying to keep him out of the water and wind. He is still sleepig til 7am - a full 12 hrs but I am sure it will creep earlier and earlier. He is still showing no interest what so ever in fruit or much veg, he was so good when he was really little but now - nada - anyone have any tips?
Much love x
-
Hey all,
Thanks for the tips, sounds like I am doing things right and I'll just plod along doing much of the same. Olivia has her box up and running and was so excited to flick switches and push the buzzers!!! DH was having fun too!!! Today I got 4 new tyres for my car and it will be serviced next week. I just need to pack my hospital bags and keep the house tidy and I am basically ready!!!! I think! Olivia finishes child care at the end of next week and am looking forward to having the whole time with her. Shes sleeping a bit better...I wont say it too loud for fear of jinxing myself!! Although last night when we took her in her room, she wanted to go into her toddler bed, so we did, then when she finished her bottle, came out. So we popped her into the cot and she cried for ages!!! Will just have to keep trying, maybe put up a gate at her door. I dont know!!!
We havent got another cot, so am hoping she will get the idea by early next year when we put the new one in with her.
Jen- arent they funny about what they like to play with!! Glad beaus molar is through. Olivia has 2 eye teeth through and the bottom ones are on their way. Have fun painting!I dont have tips on how to get fruit and veg into him coz I have a garbage disposal unit, but if she doesnt eat something, then I will sometimes offer her something else thats healthy....
Kris- Happy Birthday Louis. Hope you are having a fun day and its so beautiful here today. Enjoy the weekend party.
Kel- wow your busy. No wonder you fell asleep at your mums!!!! Hows life with 2? And are you still breast feeding??? Thats cool that shes putting words together. Am glad that you have found the problem with her ears and am hoping the diet will help.
Mel- thanks for the tips!!! You sound bored at work. How long left????
Well, its almost time for me to go pick up Olivia...I got to have a nanna nap too today:)
Take care
-
Wow. I feel really neglectful now. Pip still only has a shower twice a week cause we still don't have a bathtub. And DH doesn't help in that he grabs Pip, holds him in the shower, washes him quickly and throws him out to me. All so DH can have a nice long shower by himself. He actually is more gentle when he gives the dog a shower! If I give Pip a shower it takes ages cause I let him run around the bathroom in the nuddy, then I open up the door when he's ready and then let him play i his own time.
ARGHhh.
I still can't understand a word of what he says. Sometimes I don't like him at all.
But at other times ... well, today we had class photos at childcare, can't wait to see them.

Hi!
We had a nice day...Louis was so excited in the morning to get a few little pressies...he opened the rest this afternoon but I think was a little overwhelmed...funny he likes the smallest cheapes pressie the best - always the way! LOL! We did food shopping for his party and I spent a small fortune - could barely fit in the freezer - just lots of snack junk foods I can shove in the oven and not really think about - hehehe. I don't know how anyone could afford to buy food like that all the time! Louis was a big helper though...Dylans just so cheeky at the moment - we had cuddles before bed which were so nice - he keeps lifting up my t-shirt and giving my big tummy a cuddle and can say bubba and an attempt at Ethan so thats cute...I still don't think he knows what he's in for yet though! LOL!
Jen - You're entitled to a break - and no better time than when bubs is asleep and the house is peaceful and you can actually relax!
LOL at Beau loving the bamix! how funny! I'm sure your doing a fantastic job with Beau!
Ummm...nup - all the xmas stuff is still on layby - I think they'll be opening xmas presents for a week! I now realise I may have overdone it...LOL! Dh is going to have a heart attack when they're wrapped and "santa" delivers them under the tree....I'm still excited though! LOL!
Gosh - what a memory you have!!! I can't even remember that! But I can remember that we put him full time into a big bed when Dylan was a couple of months old because we needed the cot! LOL! So he would have been about 19-20months I suppose! We didn't have any dramas and he was very excited and loved it - He had a new wiggles doona cover etc and we put a side barrier on and has only had one period of time when he got out of bed...mostly he never really has...
Just reading what you wrote for Dis in regards to art stuff - A magnadoodle is a great idea when you can't be bothered with the mess! I usually sit Dylan in the high chair for drawing but he does still try and eat crayons etc...mind you he loves it - I really should do more! I'm guilty with the art stuff because it's so much effort setting up and cleaning up for 10min attention - iykwim? The other thing the kids are right into at the moment is bath crayons - they just drawer with special crayons while they're in the bath and it just wipes straight off! They love asking dh to draw things for them as well or he gets them to guess...Another thing is the big chunky chalks for outside - because yet again - no mess inside! I love summer because I can get them down to their nappy or in the nuddy and the can finger paint etc and then can just hop in the baby pool to wash them!! hehehe.
He might be having his 12 hours cos your tiring him out with all that outdoor play! LOL!
In regards to food I'm not quite sure...best thing is to disguise it in stuff he already likes...I suppose I'm lucky - my boys love salad..but not cooked veg quite so much...Often they'll stand at the kitchen while I'm chopping stuff and eat as I chop - raw....funny because I'm so not a raw veg person but they love it...it's easy not to offer stuff when you don't like it - LOL! I would say just go with what he likes...My boys love avocado and tomato - so they always have salad rolls for lunch - or avocado nori rolls, tomato and mushroom in salads etc...They don't really eat a whole lot of it but it's enough for me to be satisfied...they also looovvveee fruit so I figure that makes up for any lack of veggies!
Mel - omg - the box toy thing sounds great! Good on him! Wow - you're so organised! I'm slowly but surely getting my bag ready...I've never been so unorganised in my life! Bought a few bits and pieces but still have to wash all of bubs clothes! Got so behind just with out washing this week with the rain though that It will probably have to wait - I might try and get a load done tomorrow of bubs stuff just so I can get all sooky and clucky when I remember how small everything is...LOL!
Gosh...I really need to get my car services as well...When will I have the time?????
In regards to the sleeping - persistance is the key...she might do it for 2 or 3 weeks but if everytime she gets up you just put her back down she'll eventually get the message...you just can't give in and let her sit out with you or start playing with toys etc (unless she's not well or something of course!) Just have a really good night routine and she'll get used to it!
Yeah on an nanna nap!
Kaz - Don't be silly - of course your not neglectful! And kids can be frustrating at times...we all have our good and bad moments with them...Trust me!!!! Ooh I'm sure the photos will be just gorgeous!!!
Ok...better got and have a tidy up...so can't be bothered though! Chat later!
eta - just realised I've written an epic - do you think I'm procrastinating? LOL!
-
Good Afternoon....
Well they say it comes in threes....I broke a dish my mum gave me, flooded the laundry and found Beau eating one of those big chalks (he found in the garage cause I dont have any yet) - a blue one, he wasnt impressed when mum shoved her fingers in his mouth and flooded him with water!!! What is it with him and chalk?
Kris - Thanks so much for all your great tips! I think i need to do what you say and focus on the things he will eat and stop trying to force him to eat things he doesnt like but I do! He loves avacado and mushrooms, loves any potato product too!! I will just keep on with smoothies too atm. I think he has a carb and dairy addiction like his mum! Mmm my memory isnt that great!Maybe its beacuse that was before I gave birth LOL? I just know that B is not ready for a big bed yet and was wondering when Louis went into his. Your Dh is going to know whats up onXmas morning huh? I must confess I intend on going ballisitc for our kids at Xmas, not so much gift wise but cool traditions for our family like stockings, baking shortbread decorations for the tree on xmas eve and making flour santa tracks for them and pancakes on Xmas morning - all that great stuff! I get excited too! Those bath crayons sound amazing! Can you get them at Kmart? b hates the bath since we have moved (its a spa bath and too big I think?) so I am trying anything! I did bubble blowing last night!
Kaz - Dont worry love, we all feel like that occasionally.
Mel - You sound organised! Thats my fear to - that he will wander around the house! But persistance like anything else I guess! Thats nice you are looking forward to some special time with her when she finishes care - I am so paranoid about educating B now - we spent most of the morning reading and identifying animals and colours and then shape sorting - poor kid wanted to have his nap to get away from me!
Have a great day everyone x
-
Heya
Kris- youve just moved house...I dont think I would be too organised either. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I can picture your Christmas tree...i think ours will be bare again. Last year Olivia only got a xylophone from us because i knew she would get loads from our families...and shes the first grand child on my side, so she did get a bit. I havent even thought about this year. Its funny coz we just get it as we want it. Like I just got her a junior trampoline with a handle. At the moment its in the lounge, so when shes watching tv, she can burn some energy!!! Oh and she loves her gadget box. Once we have finished day care next week, I will concentrate on her toddler bed. She took herself to it last night and dh and I just giggled, so she headed to her cot!!! Cheeky monkey.
Kaz- yep they drive you nuts some times and its even harder when you just dont get what they are trying to say.
We have a new appointment at the orthopaed clinic to review olivias hips. November 6th. Hopefully we get the all clear. I am packing myself. I have this fear of having her to have further treatment...which would be more than likely surgery, and having my new baby in a pavlik harness. I am fearing the worst and its probably irrational, but it scares me. But at the same time, I would rather get her hips checked out now than May next year. Its only a month away but feels like forever.
Am going away this weekend to Maldon to see Adams grand parents and his great grandma, who is about 95 and has started to give away her belongings. To me that means the end is near..morbid I know, so we havent seen her since Olivia waas 5 weeks old. We are also doing the bonfire before bushfire season takes hold. Last time I did some back burning up there I didnt put it out properly...ooopppss. Luckily the neighbour is part of the cfa and was on his property at the time. dont think they'll let me light anything!!!!
Ok, got to finish the bookwork and start packing. Have a great weekend

Hi ladies,
Jen, the symptoms for Lily's ears that I really noticed were that she was really off balance and falling over alot, as well as her pulling and poking at them. She'd been pulling them for ages but I put that down to teething, but when she started falling over all the time, I took her to the dr. The ENT said that glue ear has few symptoms and can be asymptomatic. So she'd had it for a fair while before I picked up on it :(
Lucky you with Beau sleeping til 7, I wish Lily would sleep til 6! She's still waking at 5am even with Day light savings now...I am sooo not a morning person. And put together with gettingup to her once or twice a night as well as feeding Liam 2-3 times a night I'm barely sleeping, averaging about 4 hrs a night. It really sucks!
Mel, you're good having your hossy bags packed already, I didn't do mine til about 38wks with Liam!
We have just brought Lily a bed, I don't know how we're going to go though she's been a bi upset just with it in her room and the furniture moved around.
I hope Olivias hips are ok. And I'm sure bub will be fine. She's a different bub to Olivia!! But if it does happen you will be fine. You just do what has to be done.
Hope you had a nice weekend away.
Kaz, I usually bath Lily every 2nd day, and that's only cause I have to wash her hair! But she's developed a big phobia with the bath lately and needs coaxing to get into it.
Kris, happy bday to Louis! Wow he's getting so big. I love 3, it's such a lovely age where they are so curios and are learning to be so independant!
As for us, well we are still struggling with sleeping. DH has had night shift the past few nights and last night he went out and stayed at his friends place for the night. Of course those are the nights the kids play up...the other night I went to bed at 10.30 but didn't manage to actually get to sleep til 3am, then Lil was awake at 5am. 2 hrs sleep....about 6 in 48hrs. I am soooo tired, but I think I'm getting insomnia cause when I try to go to sleep for a nap, my mind won't stop and I just can't sleep, thinking that one of the kids will wake soon anyway, so why bother?
Liam has been pretty good these past few days, except last night, he was really unsettled for hours, just screaming. I'm pretty sure he had wind cause he was farting like no tomorrow through the night! He's getting really big and is definately out of 000's now. He's smiling all the time and is trying very hard to chat, it's so cute to watch.
Lily is being really cheeky, both cute cheeky and naughty cheeky. She's ben biting DH and I a bit, as well as hitting and scratching. I don't know what made her start it, but it's getting tiring saying 'no' to her all the time. She's pushing boundaries alot lately. To be expected I guess....
Ok gotta go, hope everyone is well and had a great weekend!
-
Hi everybody! I don't have my glasses today - I think I've lost them somewhere :( - so I won't do personals as it's hard for me to see what I'm doing!
We're doing well - Ben's got three of his eye-teeth and the fourth is almost through - yay! He's staying with my MIL today and yesterday and for Mon and Tues next week while my folks are away. I had a bit of a breakdown on Sunday night crying about it because he doesn't have the same attachment to her as he does to my mum and I felt guilty about leaving him where he wasn't totally happy. Talk about pg hormones running riot!
Anyway, we're all well. I'm off work for the rest of the week again, so I might not be around again for another week! Take care! :)
-
Hi All,
Its is absolutely p***ing down here! What a yuck day! Beau is off napping about an hour earlier than usual cause he was bored inside and wanted to go out - his last molar is bothering him too so gives me a break- dont know what we can wreck when he wakes up....
Kel - Wow at Lily being upset at her furniture moved around - I move everything in our house and Beau's room constantly - I dont think he would bat an eyelid if he slept in the kitchen he is so used to me! Thanks for the info on the glue ear symptoms - I wanted to know cause they do pull and prod them alot dont they? Tough one for you to pick up on.
Ick at the no sleep - hugs to you - I got like that after Beau - couldnt sleep even if I had the chance - I did a meditation introduction and that really helps. If you like I will PM you what to do? Its easy and helps chill you out.
Mel - Hey try not worry about the new bubbas hips - It most likely wont even happen, and you cant change it if it does so try not to obsess over it. I hope our Christmas is a bit better than last year, we had no money and Beau didnt get much from us either. and DH and I were a bit funny around that time too so it was a bit ordinary all around. I get things for Beau all the time too, so he certainly doesnt miss out! Olivia's tramp sounds great. Hope your DH's GG enjoys seeing Olivia again.
Dis - Ben will be ok - he sounds so resiliant and confident. at your PG hormones - at least you have that excuse! Mine is just PMT - no where near as good!
Us - Beau said Banana this morning for the first time and just last night started identifying in his books when I say where is the "truck" "juice" "jeans" etc and he points! - his dad was well impressed when we showed him:clap:
Should do something really....
x

Hi!
Louis had a great party on Sat! The weather was great and he really enjoyed himself - got lots of great pressies as well! LOL! It was a big day though! On Sunday we headed over to the beach in the arvo so the boys had a fun paddle in the water - Dylan managed to find $2 in the sand the little scavenger! LOL! Yesterday we had a birthday party over at Melton so that was a big drive but the boys had fun as it was at the pools...Today I'm being super super lazy...I'm buggered - I fell asleep on the couch last night at 9.30pm! LOL!
I've got girlfriends over for dinner tonight so I'm making home made pizza - yum!
Jen - Your christmas sounds like it's going to be fantastic - I always have good intentions but the craft sides are not my strong point - LOL! I think I originally ordered the bath crayons from a toy catalogue but ours have had it so need to get more...I'm sure I've seen them around just not sure where...shall let you know!
Yeah at Beau recognising words and saying banana!
Mel - If you know she's getting stuff off everyone else then I don't think it makes much difference anyway...I'm only giving them one big present each off Santa (and the tramp) and the rest are from Michael and I - there's no way Santa's getting all the credit - LOL!
I actually avoid giving them things other than b'days/xmas (other than small bits and pieces and of course books) as I don't want the constant nagging for things. It's working so far as we can go to the shops and Louis will look at things, press some buttons but know we're not taking it home...
Good luck with the appt with Olivia...I don't blame you for being worried but hopefully she'll be fine!!
Hope you had a nice weekend away!
Kel - Big hugs with the lack of sleep - I can completely understand where you come from with not being able to get to sleep even though your so tired - I went through the same thing after having Dylan...try and find a relaxation technique that works for you - it can make all the difference! and yep - I reckon the kids play up when dh is away as well...so frustrating!
I'm sure the biting and scratching is developmental...Dylan was hitting but seems to have settled down a bit other than when he's tired and we tell him off...then he lashes out at us...he doesn't hit anyone else then dh and I though...and sometimes Louis. Persistance is the key as tiring as I know it is!
Wow - Liam sounds like he's growing fast - it's amazing how quickly the time goes!!
Dis - Sorry to hear about you being upset over leaving Ben...just think of it as a good time for him to form a bond!! I understand where you're coming from though...Yeah at having the rest of the week off!
I'm so lazy...haven't even had a shower...gosh I must get organised...chat later!
-
well for something different, Pip's ill again. A Virus. Again. ARGHH. This time though he's not drinking, so dry nappies. I'm giving him anything and everything to get fluids into him! Needless to say, I'm working from home today. Supposed to have a phone hookup from 3pm so that should be interesting.
DG - have realised that Pip's asking "what" when he says "dat". So have started explaining to him (thankyou!)
Bath Crayons - I think I saw some at Adairs Kids (knox city) and possibly myers as well.
Mel - oooh getting closer!!!!
Us - well other than the virus, Pip's climbing everything. And kissing and hugging me more. Wasn't expecting the tonguey today though (ughs). Am loving the sling we have - took hiim in it to the docs, then to nip out to get some groceries on the way home. And thought "why not lunch?" so used the sling to tie him into the highchair!
He's taken a shine to one of his old wraps and refused to leave the house without it this morning, no idea why? Looks very cute though, with his blue bear & green wrap dragging behind him. And he knows what I mean when I say "get the wrap"! Very fixated on his shoes as well, putting them on & off.
-
hey all, i had a great weekend away and Olivia loved getting dirty and going exploring too. She was a bit unsteady on the rocky ground and ened up with quite a few dents in her legs!! Loads of splinters too! Shes such a funny kid, the crows were singing in the trees in the morning and she'd shout out baby waa waa!!! She was sick on Sunday night around 1am she threw up all over me and kept going for an hour. I was naked, so I had it everywhere and theres no running hot water or shower and no electricity. We had a little light and had to boil the water...needles to say we stank and so did the cabin!! Thankfully we went into town the next day and had showers and grandmas!!! Then Adam got sick with the runs yesterday, so its been a treat!
Kel- hope youre getting a bit more sleep. Love the pic in your ticker, Liam is getting so big. DH said to me last night that maybe we should have done a refresher course with the parenting classes coz he cant remember what to do with a little baby!! Cute, then I started to think...I cant remember either, but hopefully it will come back!!! I'll just jump on here and ask for advise.
Dis- hope you found your glasses, enjoy the rest of the week off. I would be emotional too about leaving Olivia with someone different. Actually on Friday night we went out for Adams ice hockey presentation night and left her with BIL and SIL who have two of their own, but I was almost crying leaving her...just anxiety I think on my behalf.
Jen- thats so cool B is saying stuff. Hope you werent too bored in the rain. Its funny how you change stuff around all the time. I really find that meditation helps with sleep too and birth!!!!
Kristie- Sounds like a great weekend for you, no wonder youre tired. Rest up. Hope you had fun with your g/fs for dinner.
Kaz- sorry that Pip is unwell again. Lol at the toungey....isnt he cute.
Oh I better go....getting the dog clipped and need to be there now!!!!
-
Hi!
Kaz - Oh poor Pip...Hope he's feeling better today! LOL at the big kisses and him loving his wrap..very cute!
Mel - Yeah at a great weekend other than the vomitting...how awful...
Well, I just feel super tired - then realised I haven't taken my multi-vitamins or iron tablets since we moved...not a smart move at this stage...so I'd say it's all just catching up with me!
Had a nice dinner last night - the boys were really good and it was great to catch up with my friends.
Better dash...off to my hospital appt shortly...the boys are going to have a play at Cindy's while I go which will be nice for them to burn off some energy...I've been feeling a bit guilty cos I haven't been doing all that much with them lately...
Chat later!

Goodness Von, I only just realised Pip has stopped biting!
Apparently he's a lot better today, DH says he's full of energy :) It all depends on whether the snot stops!
Ack, I'm still at work ..
-
Hi!
Von - Great to hear from you! Glad the kids are well and that James is sleeping much better! You've gotta love kids listening to you - hope it lasts!
I'm well...nup - we've still got heaps to unpack but dh is a bit slack in that department, I can only pack what he brings in for him so I'm forever nagging for some more boxes...LOL! We've settled into the house though and we're all loving the space!
Kaz - Urrgghh at being at work so late...glad to hear Pip seems to be on the mend!
Had my appt today - was in and out in 10min which is good! All is going well...bubs is still head down ready to go, blood pressure fine...I suppose really it could be any time now but I'm feeling like I won't go early...I'm not over it yet anyway so I'd really like him to stay put for another few weeks to get a a bit more sorted out!
Hope you're all well!
-
Hey Von,
good to hear from you again. Glad the kids are sorted and that James is sleeping better.
With day care, we are supposed to finish up this week, but today i went there and the lady asked if I wanted to do Fridays. I initially thought...stuff you coz she basically told us that olivia would benefit from being at home and also her bad nappy rash, but I know how much she enjoys going and I dont really want to move her to somewhere new when we are just about to have a new edition. So I talked to dh today and we decided to acceot 1 day a week. It will be a break for me too to catch up on house work, book work and I suppose the new baby. Hopefully it will work out...if not, I'll pull her out.
Kris- glad your appointment went well. I am starting to get period pains right down low. brought some more packets of pads and tissues today:) Am sure I'll need those!!!
I am huge compared to Olivias pregnancy. praying I dont get stretch marks!!!
Kaz- good to hear pips on the mend.
Well Olivia decided she was tired and has gone to bed earlier...by 15 minutes. I have had my cup of tea and chocolate and feel ill!!! So am going to lay on the couch and dose. Take care.

Hi girlies,
Well, Lily has turned into a little feral!!! My goodness she has kept me on my toes these past few days! Yesterday I was changing Liams nappy and she was sitting on the lounge watching In the night garden, and I turned around and there she was standing on the back of the lounge!!! She scared the life out of me, she was watching the cars saying 'car, car, car' and pointing at them. I screamed at her to get down and she just crumbled her legs a fell off. She thought that was hilarious, I was so scared nearly threw up! THEN!!! Later when I was making dinner, I strapped her into her highchair (one that attaches to the table) and gave her some textas and her scrap book to try to keep her occupied for a while. I was chopping up veggies for a stirfry, I was listening to her but not actually looking, she was just talking to herself. I figured she couldn't get up to much STRAPPED into her chair....well how wrong I was when I looked at her there she was sitting on the table, drawing on the rubbish bin. Yes our rubbish bin has to live on the dining table so that my little angel doesn't make everything dissappear into it!There were so many other things yesterday! Today, she nearly suffocated Liam cause I thought DH had her and DH thought I had her! Mind you I told him to watch her for half an hour while I got things ready for their baths! The only way I knew she was with him was cause he screamed bloody murder! I walked into my room and there she was leaning over his head (his head in her tummy), with her head on his tummy and she was patting him, hugging him, how could I get angry???!!! Arrrrgggghhhh, she's driving me insane, I can't keep up with her!
Mel, yucko @ the vomit, that's gross!! But glad you had a good w/end.
Yep, I love the pic in my ticker too, it's the only one I have of the two of them both looking at me with a decent expression on their faces, LOL! And yep Liam is getting HUGE! I weighed him today and he's 6.4kg!! He's already into 00's!
LOL @ not remembering how to parent a new bub. It will all come flooding back, don't worry. You have flashbacks you forgot all about!! And it is easier second time, you kinda know how to do most of it.
Kris, take care of yourself hun, you're pg with two babies!!!! Have a rest for a day! You energy puts me to shame and I'm not pg with two babies!
Glad to hear bubs is going well, not long to go now!
Von, hows things?? Good to hear from you. Sleep, what's sleep??? I dont remember! With two now, things are pretty hit and miss with sleeping. Most days I get about 5hrs, days when DH works its usually less :( . Anyway who needs sleep?? LOL!
We're having biting and hitting problems here too, but it's probably the result of having Liam I guess. And she's getting frustrated cause she can't talk yet too!
Kaz, glad to hear Pip is better.

Hi!
Mel - I hope the c/c decision works out for you all as well! I had pre-labour with Dylan from about 34w and still went to my due date so you just never know...Since we've moved I haven't really had anything...Have now started raspberry leaf tablets and will get dh to blow up the fitball soon...All the pains now though will mean a quicker labour for you hopefully!
Hope you have a good snooze!
Kel - LOL at Lily being a terror - although I'm sure it's not funny at the time...They certainly are busy bees at this age...since moving to this house Dylan can open all the cupboards so we're constantly telling him off for that...
Wow at Liam being so big already!!
LOL - No time for rest! hehehe. Nah...I'm alright...the funny thing is the more I try and chill out the more demanding and troublesome the boys are anyway so there's no point really!
Chat later...
-
Kaz-great to hear Pip is feeling better I am sure that will make your life a lot easier..when my kids are sick it just feels like I never get a second to myself..lol
Kristie-You have to nag more then lol..i am apparently according to dh the worlds best nagger lol?
Melissa-Wow that was a little rude of the lady from day care saying that Olivia would benefit from being at home?.oh and now thanks to your post I am craving chocolate and of course there is none in the house I think I am going to have to nag dh to go and buy some?lol
Kel-omg scary..a friend of mine had a similar thing happen with her new baby, her toddler sat on the baby though cause it was in her old bouncer that she used to use of course the poor baby was being suffocated?lol and here I am trying to get dh to give me another baby?
Well how?s that twice in 1 day..lol?both my dear kids are in bed thank god?they both become so naughty towards the end of the day Natasha plays up and then James copies and of course from there things get out of hand so I really look forward to this time?.
-
LOl...I just had ice cream after reading Mel's post...hehe.
-
:p well i told dh that i really wished we had some chocolate and he goes to the other room and comes back with a block of chocolate i nearly jumped him for it
-
Mmmmm, chocolate.......icecream......chocolate icecream.......*drool*
I can't eat either, it upsets Liam....
-
damn breastfeeding lol...i am so proud of myself i finally got ticker happening yay
-
It's a lovely ticker Von!
Mel - I'm all for the day of CC - it will definately give you a day's break! How is her poor little bum?
Kris - I reckon you'll be 3 days early ;) Dunno why, I just do ;)
Lil - erk re the drawing!!! Least she can't eat the textas - I've discovered that mcdonalds crayons come out the other end whole. Doh. Guessing that Lil's just trying to "hug" her lil' liam?
Us - well Pip's very, very active. So's the phelgm that he's coughing, sneezing and dripping everywhere. So no CC today. Least I worked a big day yesterday so I don't feel so guilty.
DH apparently had the horror poos yesterday (ha ha ha) to the extent he rang me at work to see how long I'd be so I could change him. What a shame I was still a good half hour away! MwAAAAa.
Anyhows, I have work to do!
-
Isn't that funny James had really awful poos yesterday as well of course i was the one who had to change them...anyway better get off the computer and go to the shop to get stuff for dinner as i am off to work tonight:rolleyes:
-
Hi!
Gorgeous ticker Von!
Yuck at these bad poos...Dylan's been a bit feral but he had tomato pasta last night so makes sense anyway!
Kaz - I can handle 3 days early!! Omg at crayons coming out whole the other end - yuck! LOL at getting the call to change a nappy! hehehe.
Ok...better go - I've got to get food shopping done as well and I think I've left it to late and Dylan will now have to have a sleep first..
On the phone to my mum though and have been for aaagggeeessssss......must go....
Gorgeous day in Melb!
-
Well i over induldge in chocolate.... and felt sick!!! Then by midnight I was throwing up:( I had the worst heart burn ever, every time I rolled over I felt ill. Needless to say, I didnt sleep too well. Olivia came to bed with us about 430 and slept til 845, on my side so not much room. I feel fluy too. I just managed some toast and coffee and am getting some surface cramps on my belly. Hope it doesnt come back out.
Kel- yep they are buggers arent they, Olivia likes to do the same on the couch and has fell off so many times...granted she doesnt laugh coz it hurts on the floor boards. She knows how to get on top of dh desk...cant wait til she dives off that..NOT!!! How scary with Liam and it is hard to get angry with her too.
Hello everyone else.....
-
Well i ended up with the runs all night. Luckily its stopped and I can eat today. Lost 2kg from it. I hate being sick. Olivia had a fever and shivers last night. It just gets funner!!! And dh is going away for the weekend. Bless me!!
-
 Mel, I hope things improve!
-
Did a big post yesterday and the stupid wireless dropped out grrrr.....I have been reading up tho!
Now today I am in a bad mood because Beau is obsessed with the dogs' dry food and water - so when we go downstairs (out the backyard) and I try and hang out the washing and pick up the poo's (delightful) he is constantly into the water etc so I put it on the washing machine. Well today he got to it and tipped it everywhere - all in the dirty and clean laundry and I found him really getting into it with a big gobful! He got a bit of a smack which I havnt done before as he was still going for it while I was trying to clean up! He then fully cried/whinged for the next half hour! I know he doesnt know any better but you know when you do the same thing every day??
Ok Rant over, sorry.
Mel - Hope you guys are feeling better - gosh you are in the wars with everyone all ends lately arent you? Glad you managed a good time away still.
Kaz - OMG at Dh calling to see how long you would be!
Kel - Scary with Lil and Liam huh? She loves him too much! How is Lil when he is asleep in the day? Is he a light sleeper? Do they ever sleep at the same time for you?
Kris - I looked online and there are lots of places that sell the bath crayons on websites but I would prefer to go to a real live shop as I cut my credit card up months ago! Glad Louis had a nice birthday and was suitably spoilt.
Von - Nice to hear from you! We moved to the Central Coast in a lovely spot on a lake. Its very beautiful! Glad your lil boy is sleeping better for you now.
Also...have you PG ladies seen the Nymbler website? For baby names? (Except you Kris - we already know its Ethan !) Its so awesome! Love it! I spend too much time on it - especially considering I got AF yesterday! Must start counting days and such to try for a little wee girl....xxx
-
Mel you poor thing hope you feel better soon and skip the chocie next time ...just send it my way
Jen-how exciting planning for a little girl are you ttc now...
well have to run get Tash from kinder can't be late again
bye
-
Hi!
Had a huge day at the p/g & baby expo! Was great though and the boys did really well!
Mel - So sorry to hear you've been so unwell...gosh - you guys are in the wars, hope Olivia improves quickly as well...Does dh have to go away? I hope you get a rest over the weekend...
Jen - Sorry to hear you've had a bugger of a day! Yep - I hear you with the kids getting into stuff! Dylan is forever taking dvds out and walking around with them etc and it drives me nuts - and no matter how much I tell him he keeps doing it! GRRR! They'll learn eventually - they'll just drive us crazy in the meantime! LOL!
Wow - your good for cutting up your c/c - thats something I should definitely do - LOL! I'm a shocker though...had a bit of a splurge at the expo today - bought a baby sling and a b/f cushion and some music toys for the boys...got heaps of freebie samples etc though so I figure that makes up for it! LOL!
Ooh how exciting ttc! I Hope it happens super quick for you guys!!
Von - Ooh I'm waiting to hear if Louis has got a place at 3yo kinder next year...I'm so excited - I can't believe my little boy is growing up - but he's so excited about it and so am I - they definitely get to a stage where there ready for some more stimulation and socialising I think! Hope you weren't late!
Ok...chat later!
On the climbing etc - Found Dylan standing on the dining table yesterday rearranging the flowers! All he could say was "purple flowers" and smile at me...cheeky bugger!
-
Jen - aye aye aiii on the dog food! Aren't they getting in everything now! Really having to search everything for drugs (panadol etc) as DH leaves it in pockets. Doh.
Kris - which sling did you get? We're going tomorrow, the big meet! Can't wait!
Mel - you have my number if you want a hand over the weekend hun.
whoever else I missed - oops!
Us - well finally he returned to CC today, had lots of fun and went to bed early tonight. Thank goodness. Last couple of days have been killing me! Trying to work at home means really that I'll start work when DH gets home - so was working until 11pm pretty much every night. Paid for it today, looked horrid. Then someone asked if I was preggers - ummm no, but I've started a diet? DOH@
Dream pretty all.
-
Hi!
Have fun today Kaz! I got a Bubzilla sling...I just wanted something I can throw over my head without any thought and was quite a bit cheaper than the others...Plus I'm not sure how much I'll really use it...
Thats great Pips feeling better now...bugger at having such late nights - I agree - it really is hard to try and work when you've got kids this age at home!! Thats why work for me is on hold as well at the moment...and then sometimes by the time they're in bed you just want to chill out not gear up for work!!
Ouch...why do people ask those questions??? GRR! I would never ask if someone was p/g - I would always wait for them to tell me...it's just inappropriate...they obviously have no idea...try not to take it to heart!
Having a super lazy morning - only got out of bed half an hour ago cos Louis was saying he was hungry (whoops!) They've got toys everywhere trying to keep themselves occupied for 2 hours while I snoozed! LOL! I'm such a bad mummy at the moment but it's such a struggle to get up in the morning sometimes...

Hey,
Dh went away last night...told him to go this weekend rather than next coz we are getting close to popping!!! I am feeling much better, must have needed the clean out from months of costipation!!! Now I just have bad heartburn and cant eat too much at once. Oh well. Olivia woke up again in the middle of the night with a temp. I just gave her panadol and threw her in bed with me. She slept from 8pm til 930am...somethings wrong there!!! She has a runny nose (clear) and is dribbling. So is it teeth or something more sinister? Who knows. At least shes still eating and drinking fine. Just sleeping lots.
Well I just put on the night garden, so that will give me some time to do...not a lot.
Thanks for the offer Kaz. Hoping I should be fine.
Ok spoke too soon... got to run!!!
-
Glad to hear your feeling a bit better Mel! Sorry to hear about Olivia...hope she's on the mend soon! Hope you get through the weekend ok!
