Good Evening Ladies...
Oh Dis what a cute post! I love your hormones being all gushy...how sweet! I cant wait for Beau to be popping words out like that - DH likes it when I teach Beau something new and then he shows da da when he comes home too - cute stuff. Thats nice that Ben fawns over the bubba - great practice. I feel pretty gushy towards Beau MOST of the time....except when he likes to slap and punch me when I am carrying him at the shops and it elicits screams from me accidentally and everyone looks! Oh a tired baby, ick.
Kris - Yay on the trailer- I have spent ALL day searching for my black evening clutch for my SIL and it is driving me absolutely bonkers - I think it must have been thrown out or something. My advice - label everything! Good you have your mum to help you - the kitchen stuff always sux. Happy moving vibes!!
Us - We are pretty good - DH's trip to Ikea was pretty successful so I was happy doing displays most of yesterday and today- - our place is looking pretty spec already. My BIL dropped off two great chairs I bought off ebay and they are just awesome in our summer room and the best low height for Beau to crawl onto and cuddle with us! He seems to be settling in really well - he is a nightmare at the shops at the moment - he just wants to be put down but runs into every store - we even got him one of those hire cars today at Westfield and that lasted about 5 seconds until he whinged - we ended up giving up and going home:(
Oh well.....
Have a great night every one!!!
-
Its so quiet in here.... hey Kel- glad lils sleeping better for you. Hows it going with 2????
Kris- good luck on the move.
Jen Mel and Kaz- hello...i was writing a post the other day but Olivia crashed my party, so had to leave it!!!
Well I spoke to the lady about Olivias bum rash the other day and she said she forgot to mention it because Adam was there on Friday arvo and it distractered her...she thinks he is hot!!!!....shes 60 not out and has made a few comments on dh!!! obviously he was a major distraction. So she tells me she hadnt left her in a nappy, just after a poo it had become red. Anyway I still think Olivia slept in, but never mind, I have almost cleared it. So I take Olivia back to childcare on Thursday and she is a bit sooky when another kid taps her on the face. By the time I got back in the arvo to pick her up, the lady says shes seen kids like Olivia and thinks that she would be best to be out of cc when the new bubs arrives. Dh and I think she just cant handle her sensitivity. When Olivia started, she only had another boy to look after, now she has another 2 younger than Olivia. So thismorning I gave her notice and will be taking her out of cc from th 17th of October. Makes me feel a lot more relaxed and happier. i will have to get used to not having those spare days to clean and do bookwork, just means I have to organise myself or let those things go on the back burner for a bit. If Olivia is ok, we might look at popping her in ocassional care once a week...next year.
Wow.....feel so much better! On that note, i must get organised. Am pretty much done, just need to clean and service the car. Oh and sleep! Olivias eye teeth are being terrible and she is waking in pain. Last night I had to rock her to sleep and that took her a while. I have bad hip pain....pelvis must be opening up. Ok, better go. Have a great day all,
Love Melissa

Hey Mel - you sound really happy with your decision, you are right, its all about priorities - I am sure you will miss those free days but! How funny the woman likes your DH?!? he he!
Us - Been to the beach this morning and DH made B an inground pool in the sand with sandcastles all around it! He is going to be such a beach baby, except Mum gets left with cleaning the sand out of his bum! Oh well its worth it - just chilling out now with DH as its his last day of hols and I have to go to the city tomorrow for work - first time on a train in yonks - should be interesting!!
-
Hi guys! It has been quiet in here, but I've been having trouble getting on so gave up yesterday. Maybe everybody else is the same?
Jen, how nice of DH to let you get the sand out of Beau's bum  What swim nappies do you use? The disposable ones or the clothey type ones?
Good luck on the train tomorrow! They always seem to be doing trackwork on the CC line.
Mel, you do sound happier now that you've made up your mind to take Olivia out of care. It'll take a bit of adjusting, but you'll be use to it in no time. I can't believe that you and Kris are so close to meeting your new bubbas now!!!!
Us, we had another fabbo night. I was in bed asleep by 8pm! LOL Such a party animal! I have a girls' night out with the girls from mum's group tomorrow night, so that will be a fun catchup - although I'm doubting it will be a big one  Really looking forward to this weekend. The AFL grand final should be a good'un, then the night out followed by a relaxing day on Sunday. Sounds just about perfect to me :) Oh, and I have to get to Target to buy one of those Thomas the Tank Engine Potties on sale right now. Ben's obsessed with Thomas - not that he's ever seen the show!!! Weird! DH reckons he'll never use the pottie though because he'll be too busy looking at the pic  And no, we're not going to start TT yet, I just want to have it ready for when he's ready.
Anyhow, best be getting back to the grindstone. Thank goodness it's Friday!!!
-
that's funny DG - we bought 2 potties yesterday. One's a "cushie tooshie" one (with padded seat) and the other just a stock standard. we liked the TtTE one but people had nicked all the stickers from it. I'm going to just start sitting Pip on it while I go to the loo, to get him used to the feeling of air under his bum IYKWIM?
Mel - we had a poo like that the other day! And it was me that found it - I swear he had a clean nappy, did a poo, I waited 5 mins to make sure all finished, and it was everywhere. Up his back, down his legs ... and broken blisters. Funny on the CC lady being flustered by A!
Kris - hoping your moving's going well, its today isn't it???
Anyhows, I'm off to buy DH more sposies and to pick up some mail from the PO. Hopefully it'll be my MooGoo order ;)
Have a great day all!
-
Hiya ladies, how are you all today??
Well, we have had a few fairly good days. I'm not freaking so much as I was before that DH is going back to work, on Tuesday....eeek! I took the kids out the other day on my own and got the up and down the stairs and in and out of the car on my own.
Last night was a long night with Liam, he was really unsettled and Lily woke twice too, though only needed her dummy thankfully. Liam fed and fed all night. My bb's are killing me! Lily has been an eating machine for the past few days, probably tyring to catch up from being sick. But OMG, she eats more than me at the mo!
Mel, LOL @ the lady being so distracted by your DH! That's funny, hehe! But it's not very good about Olivias butt. Glad it's on the mend though. Maybe it will be good for Olivai not to be in CC when bubs is born? It might help her adjust a bit easier. Though a day or so Lily free for me would be lovely!
Jen, lucky you going to the beach. I'm jealous!! LOL @ the sand in B's bum, hehe! I can't wait til we can move up there now. We are pretty well decided that thats what we're going to do. Not for a few years though yet. How's the new house?
Dis, yay at the great night, I hope he did it again for you! Hope you have a great time out. I can't remember the last time I went out with friends on my own...
As for us, as I said, we had a very unsettled and sleepless night. Liam fed all night, hardly sleeping much at all. He screamed for a few hours too I have no idea why. Then he did a monster poo this morning at 6.30am, so I had to bath him cause there was poo everywhere. Luckily I had him wrapped or I would have had it all over my bed too! As it is I'm changing the bed every 2 or 3 days from him vomiting in it, or my bb's leaking!
We are having a quiet weekend, just a birthday party tomorrow and dinner at mums tonight. That's it, we might go to the park or something later, though it's meant to be fairly hot here today...anyway, that's it. I'm going to try to catch up on the washing, it's never ending!
Hi to Kaz, Kristy, and everyone else my baby brain won't remember!! Have a great weekend.
-
Hi!
Well, we're all moved in! Still heaps and heaps to unpack but the basics are done and the house is tidy, clean and organised! We just don't have much in it yet...I think I'll be unpacking for the next month! LOL! Because it's all in the garage though we're just going to bring stuff in a box at a time so the house stays tidy..
I'm loving it though and the kids are as well. They got puffed running around the lounge and family room today! Hehe.
The weather has been gorgeous which has been good for the kids playing outside. The people who we bought off left a swing set here so the kids have been loving that as well!
Disgirl - Hope you have a great night out tonight! LOL at Ben liking Thomas but not seeing the show! My boys love it too! It's a boy/train thing I think! You can have the potty around - he may show some interest. Dylan tell us when he's done poos/wees in his nappy now so over summer we'll probaby have the potty around for him in case he wants to try and use it...not sure if he will want to try because of having his older brother though...we'll see...definitely no rush though...
Jen - I completely agree - when they're good they're good but those tantrums are so hard to deal with sometimes...Dylans taking to kicking his legs when I change his bum too which is annoying. But most of the time I can't get over how cute he is...LOL!
Yeah at getting your house all looking great - I think it's going to take us quite some time to furnish our house...we're so poor now with a big mortgage! LOL! No rush though...It will all happen when it happens!
Hope work went ok! Glad you guys are enjoying the beach! Yucko on the sand though!
Mel - Good for you on your decision! At least might be worth looking into some different carers anyway - you might find someone else your more comfortable with.
Gosh - I can't imagine rocking Dylan now...no wonder your hip was sore! It doesn't take much for me to get an ache or pain this p/g! LOL! (I must be getting old! hehe)
In saying that my sciatic pain has really settled down today without lifting so much stuff...
Kaz - Sounds like a good idea getting Pip used to the potty...I'm to lazy to do that now - will only think about it probably when he's running around in the nuddy! LOL! Ooh I was looking up moogoo on the internet the other day...might have to try some out! Bugger on Pip having a bad poo...Yucko!
Kel - How come you've changed you name? Louis just did that after being sick - ate and ate and ate - he was running around in his pj bottoms today with no top on and he had cute little love handles! Hehehe. He looks like such a little boy now that he's nearly 3!
Sounds like Liams going through a growth spurt as well!
Glad that your feeling more confident now! It will just keep getting easier...I'm sure I'll be nervous about getting around with 3 but you just learn how to manage I suppose!
Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned!
Ok...better get a bit more done and then head to bed...another big day unpacking tomorrow! Chat later!
-
Hi All.
Wow am tired today - we baby sat my Dh's neice and nephew last night and yesterday and they only just left now - the little boy (he is 10) was up at 5am too! Earlier than Beau!
I have just sat down to read the paper and check my emails and Beau is waking up Grrrr!
Kel - It took me a sec to realise who you were! Sounds like Liam is in his feeding frenzy stage huh? At least the bfing is going well - thats a blessing - I am sure Kris is right - you will get the hang of going out with 2, just even more organisation required however! I am fretting about DH going back to work tomorrow as we are so more isolated than what we were iYKWIM? The house up here is great - no regrets - we spent the morning with all the kids out the back of our place in the lake with buckets and spades and boogie boards and stuff - cant beat it.
Kris - We did the same thing with our boxes in our cabin - it has worked OK - I am like you and like to keep the house neat while unpacking and do it as you need it. Thats funny about the kids being puffed from running around the living room! He he!
Dis - I havnt got around to even buying any swimming nappies yet! Do you reccommend any? Bless sweet sleep - good on you for stocking up now. Hope you had fun at your girlie night out.
x
-
Hey All,
Jen- yep am so happy with my decision and its even made me sleep better. Oh your house sounds so good. Loads of things to do..and a lake. i would be there every day. Wow that kid got up early, hope you get a sleep in tomorrow. I got a swim nappy from Big W that you just wash. We need to get the next size up though coz shes grown so much. I do have the huggies disposables on standby though.
DG- glad youre getting some sleep. Hope you had a great girls night out. i have a potty thats bright pink...am going to get it out soon too coz olivia has decided that she can tell me that shes doing wee wees and points to her nappy. Might waight til the warmer weather....I dunno!!!
Kaz- I got my moogoo delivery not so long ago. I ordered it over the net this time instead of driving all the way to boronia...a fair way from me. It came in 2 days. I got a tub of the moisturiser...love it and I got the goats and cows milk soap for Olivia. It lathers up really nicely and I think it might last a fair while. And the soap smells lovely.
Kel- yeah I didnt know who you were for a second!!! Am glad things are settling in ok for you. Its starting to dawn on me that there will be another one of us in less than 9 weeks and had a bit of a panic when I realised dh dint know exactly where things were for Olivia. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I just got all paniky!!! Then theres a bit of anxiety about how I'm going to cope and how Olivia will be. Shes started touching my bbs and last night she was giving them kisses. I wonder if she smells milk.
Kris- glad your move went well. We moved her 3.5 years ago and still have boxes in the garage...probably stuff we should get rid of!!!! Will have to come past and have a squiz...am so nosey!!!! And thats great they left the swing set.
Well, we are sitting out on our new deck/pegola, enjoying the afternoon. Have been to MILs this morning for lunch. Hopefully our driveway will get finished off tomorrow and then I have to clean the house....again coz of all the concrete dust and dirt that has come in. Thats all we are doing for renos this year...yay. Our house is almost finished. Just outside stuff to do.
Ok, better go. Have a great evening
-
hello ladies ;)
My coz came to visit today with her 3 kids (14/8/10 or summat like that) and they had heaps of fun playing with Pip (& his toys!). We were going to go on Puffing Billy with them, but he was asleep and you know what they say about sleeping babies ...
Kris - great news on the house, and the swing set! Bonus! Guess you'll have enough room for the toys you bought last xmas now ;)
OOOOH and speaking of xmas ... I put a heap of stuff on layby last week - a nativity set (different through - preggers Mary on the ass with Joseph leading) and a snowdome :) Plus some ornaments :)
Mel - sounds idyllic - hasn't the weather been gorgeous the past couple of days? Yay on the driveway - woohoo! I also ordered some stuff online of all stuff for me ;) Except for a cow for Pip! I even got a t-shirt to wear whenever we have meets so the nappy people know me! The oil cleansing method seems OK, I have rosacea and am hoping this will help ... they also gave me a sample of the anti-aging cream. We use the oatmeal soap for Pip - it was great with the nappy rash on his legs last week - and for us! We now only use goat milk or cow milk soap in the house for everything bar the anti-bacterial for the kitchen ... I love the smell of it. How cute/weird/canny of Livvy to sniff your BBs!
Jen - if you get the huggies swimmers, you can (gently) rinse them out if there's no poos and dry them for the next time. Must say it sounds gorgeous - can we come visit ;)
Kel - yes, was strange reading your post, was thinking "there's another Liam?" and then saw your sig!!!!
DG - did you enjoy the final yesterday?
Anyhows, time for tea!
-
Hehehe, sorry for confusing everyone with the name change!! But I wanted to have a signature with both my bubs names in it. I had been thinking of changing my name for a while but just didn't know what to, and this one is a mixture of my babies names and initial our surname.
Jen, Your place does sound lovely. Lucky Beau to have the lake right there to paddle and play in. And how great for you to be able to just pop over and have a great place to play.
Yeah I can understand being a bit antsy about being on your own now. Do you have a car? Especially if you don't have a car to get around, or know the streets and stuff. It's out of your comfort zone.
Mel, I have found these first weeks really tough. It's starting to settle a bit now, but I'm still having moments of being overwhelmed. I just keep on thinking there's two of them and only one of me. How cute with Olivia touching your bb's, that's so sweet. Maybe she can smell your milk? Lily couldn't care less about mine, LOL! She isn't even phased when I feed Liam. Though she did watch me onw time for a while yesterday, she was up on the lounge and had her face right up next to Liams, looking at what he was doing, though I think she was more interested in what HE was doing, not the bf'ing.
As for us, we had a loverly day at the party. It was at a big regional park, with heaps of play equipmant and stuff. Lily had a ball and Liam was good for me. Though it was 34 degrees! And blowing a gale! Lil fell asleep in the car and is still sleeping!! And Liam is snoozing too, yay!!! Ok gonna go and enjoy the silence of having both babies asleep!
......Spoke too soon, Lil's up!
Hi to everyone else and hope you are all well.
-
Hi girls!
Kel, you had my confused too! You sound so much more confident now. Well done on getting out of the house with the kids on your own. Wasn't yesterday HOT? But then about 4:30pm the temp dropped really quickly to make sleeping easy last night. Today's completely different!
Kaz, I did enjoy the final. For some reason, I'd decided during the week I was going for Hawthorn. DH was going for Geelong, but we enjoyed the game. We usually have a GF party, but this year I just couldn't be bothered so it was just the three of us.
Mel, Olivia sounds like she's well ahead of Ben for being ready for the potty. He's got no idea. When he does do a poo, he denies it  Doesn't want to take away from his play time to get changed. Typical male, you smell it, but then he's like "Nup, wasn't me!"
Jen, we used the Big W ones for swimming lessons and last summer, but I bought some of the Huggies ones for now until I get around to buying some bigger sizes for Ben. Haven't tried the huggies yet, but the Big W ones were fine and they were only about $7.
I think we're all going to have to come to your house for a play date ;)
Kris, Yay on the move! Sounds like the boys are really enjoying the extra space. I like your plan of only unpacking a bit at a time. I think the boys and their trains thing is very true! We've never pushed "boy" type things on Ben, but he much prefers trains and cars to dolls. He does like pushing his dolls around in a pram though....but I suspect it's because the pram has wheels! LOL His latest obsession is Pixar's Cars. I'm really glad because that's the theme we're doing for his Big Boy room.
We had a lovely weekend! Shopping Sat morning, GF Sat afternoon and then my girls night out. It was great! I had a mocktail and a milk shot  The girls didn't want me to feel left out. Can you believe that one of the other girls is due the exact same day as me?!?!? Her little one and Ben are only four days apart too. It was so nice to feel like a person again instead of being 'mum'. I even stayed out past midnight!!!! Sunday we just spent vegging out with the inlaws. Why is it that Mondays come around so fast?
-
Ladies - Kimbaz is winding down her business and has huge sales (25% off) on all her stock .. including swim nappies. I use the monkey doodlez ones from her and they are brillo. Have a look in the MPM thread.
Other than that, we had visitors yesterday and Pip helped me with the sweeping! He broomed under the bed! How very clever.
ahhh DG - sounds like you had a wonderful time. I've just started with putting the potty in the shower, so he can "sit" while in the shower. He's been having fun filling it with water ;) But he does also pull at his nappy when its wet!
Kel - sounds like a lovely day. And that you're coping well ;)
Now hopefully Pip will sleep for a while!
-
Hi Ladies!
Wow all of you are most welcome for a playdate/visit - although atm its howling windy and there are waves on the lake! Its kinda scary when its like this and you are home alone(with bubs and dogs tho) - DH is back at work today so we are trying to be tough!
Kel - No car - I cant drive - I am GONG to learn - before we have another bubba because that would be horrendous i think! How sweet Lil watching Liam feed, they have got you in numbers dont they? Youre bigger but!! Glad you had a nice time at the party with your little poppets!
Dis - Cute in your "mocktails' how weird about the dates of the other girl and your bubs too? Dont balme you not wanting a GF party - hope you guys enjoyed it none the less. We are having one this weekend (we are NRL folk) - have to put my thinking cap on cause they all have food allergies!!!
Mel- Far out Olivia is clever telling you she has done wees! Toilet training should be a snap for her. Clever girl. Beau just stabs my nipples with his finger tip in the bath and says "tun" for button. He also likes wedging his hand down between my bbs in my bra and tries to say "boobies" and laughs. Weirdo.
Kaz - Cute Pip with the potty in the shower - B wont even have a shower....and he hates the massive bath here - I think he will do all his bathing in the lake!
Us - Apart from the screaming winds I have a scary teething baby too - he is a shocker atm - I am glad DH saw how bad he was yesterday so i dont sound like Im exaggerating!! He just climbs my legs and opens the fridge CONSTANTLY looking for yoghurt! poor little man. It is so windy here - I went to get the washing in yesterday and it blew my dress over my head!! We had just been for a swim and I had taken my cossie off so the neighbours got a good view!!!!
-
 Jen, your lucky neighbours
Ooooh, I totally relate on the screaming teething child! Ben woke up SCREAMING on Saturday, it was awful! He was inconsolable for about 15 minutes after waking - we ended up giving him Nurofen. Two of his teeth are SO close to cutting. Driving me nuts!
Oh, and Ben hates the shower too. He used to like it when he was really little. No idea what changed!
Kaz, I saw Kimbaz was closing down in our belly buddies thread, but I'm a bit broke right now. Bummer because i want more cloth nappies too!
Clever Pip pulling at his wet nappy! Ben is obsessed with splashing water too ATM. Every opportunity he gets....even the dogs water bucket - yucko!
-
LOL, Jen, I'm soooo glad I don't have the only freaky fridge obsessed baby!!! She's constantly wanting me to open the fridge, for no real reason.....strange child!
-
Pip just pulls chairs over to the french doors and tries to open them. I wish he'd go to the fridge - its easier to lock closed.
-
Yep, I have a fridge girl too...always wants the sweet chilli sauce bottle...eeewk.
Am hoping tt will be ok...
As for teething......AAAGGGGGGG, grumpy sooky screaming slapping, yada yada. I can see 1 through, and I think theres another 2 almost. neurofen didnt do it last night, she was screaming by 1130 and in bed with us for the rest of the night.
-
Another fridge baby in our house! He gets us to open the fridge and then stands there looking in and saying "Ummmmm.....?" like he's looking for something in particular! Odd, odd child!
-
:p
Yay!!! Dont have the only weirdo! I though he must be hungry all the time:D!!
Mel B is the same with the sweet chilli! Or soy or he once got hold of the wasabi tube eek!!! The fridge locks dont fit our fridge as the door is too fat - I am going to staple gun a peice of ribbon to the cabinet and tie it off! Drives me batty!
-
well we had the worst night last night.little terror. I suppose it didnt help that yesterday she wouldnt sleep at my mums so we went home and she slept til 430. She wouldnt go to bed at 8...fair enough, but also had issues with her bottle. She wouldnt have it at all. So ended up falling asleep in my arms at 930. At 230 she was awake and screaming, trying to climb out of the cot, so I brought her in bed with us, screamed kicked tanties. I laid her on the couch with me....no good, her room..worse. By 430 we had had enough, so I popped her in her cot and shut the door. It took her half an hour of screaming for her to fall asleep, then woke up in a happy mood at 8am. I was so tired today. Dh had to get up at 6, so hes had less sleep.
Tonight I have put her to bed and shut the door, she grizzled a bit but has fallen asleep. Hoping that shes reasonably tired and will sleep ok. Shes having so much trouble with these teeth. Panadol and neurofen arent really helping. I went to get something a little stronger but I need a script. Oh well, hopefully not long.
Ok, too much computer, my eyes are getting heavy
-
Hi Girls,
Well this is my second day on my own and to be honest I'm struggling a bit. Lily is sick again for the millionth time in 6weeks or so, so is a clingon and just whinging all day, and Liam is being a bit difficult today. I have all of about 6hrs sleep in the past two days and I'm soo buggered. When one's asleep the other is awake, so I'm not getting anything done. Ugh this sucks.....and I don't want to go out because Lil's sick. I was supposed to have a friend over yesterday and go to playgroup today, but I can't cause of her. I've been cooped up in this place for too long!
Mum came over this arvo, thank goodness. I was going out of my mind. She washed up and swept the floor for me. Liam had a brilliant arvo sleep too, going for about 3hrs or so. But Lily was still a cling on sooky pants.
Anyway enough whining, I'm going to bed.....maybe this way I'll get maore than 3hrs sleep.
-
Oh Gosh Kel and Mel!
Hugs to you Mel and your no sleeper - is Olivia eating normally? Thats weird refusing the bottle - maybe she just knows what it means, that she has to go to bed, Beau went thru a stage like that. Hope she sleeps thru tonight for you - what would be stronger than over the counter? Like a higher dosage? Are you using Sm 33 aswell? I think it just distracts them more than anything LOL.
Oh Kel, Beau has been a ratbag the past two days with teeth and just a mega whinger - so much so I mumbled " oh shut up!!" under my breath last night!! Bad hey? I have no clue how you are doing it there on your own in the day now with two - hopefully you can get out of the house tomorrow and get a new perspective. I have been roaming the streets here in search of parks and swings with two dogs aswell as B  but at least when it all goes pear shaped - we have been out and he seems happier when we get back. Is there anywhere close to home you can roam too that is easy just to get out for 15min? i think tomorrow is going to be hot tho in Sydney. That was good of your mum to come over for a bit at least. ((((hugs)))) and sleep vibes xxx
Us - Trying to sort out some kind of public transport here and get B a new smaller stroller on the weekend to make bus trips less of a hassle, prob a Maclaren one? Or I dont mind the Quinny Zapp? Apart from that I feel ok atm about the move and everything, die for DH to get home of course, only because B has been a bit of a handful, he was better this arvo tho, although has a runny nose, lots of hugs and kisses and "hi' s from him so maybe he feels better too ;) He loved chasing the seagulls out the back today and calling them "duck-ees" - cute.
Hi to everyone else - pleasant dreams x
-
ooh i realised i didnt use Olivias name in my last post...just she!!! must have been over it!!! Love the girl but she drives me nuts some times!!!! Was looking for a teething elixir that the chemist makes up but it has panadol and vallergan in it, so need a script. Olivia slept somewhat better last night, went to bed with a few grizzles at 8 but was awake screaming by 1230. Gave her neurofen, actually shoved it down her throat coz she didnt want it, then into bed with us and alseep til 630. She did wake once with a nightmare...just screamed, but was able to resettle.
Kel- hugs to you. It must be difficult and with no sleep. Lucky your mum came over. Hope you got more sleep last night.
Well, am deciding what to do today...take Olivia to daycare and do more housework/bookwork/clean my car, or take her to see my dad who goes in for his op next week. usually when i go there hes so busy and leaves me there, so sometimes i wonder why i bother. Hes always got things to do. Busy man.... I'll call him soon though and make my decision.
Ok better run
-
Mel, Olivia sounds like she's really struggling with her teeth! I really don't like these ones either. I wish they'd just hurry up and cut. The poor little things - and poor us for having to deal with them  Are all four coming through or is it just the top ones?
Jen, I lost it at Ben the other night and yelled from my room "Just go back to sleep and shut UP!" Thankfully it seemed to help me calm down and I managed to get him resettled eventually. The constant sooking really grates on your nerves though huh?
How cute, with Beau and his duck-ees! They're duck-duck's to Ben
Aw Kel, I'm sorry you're having a rough time by yourself. Thank goodness your mum gave you a hand! If you ever need anything, just let me know. I'm only working for two days a week for the next three weeks so I'll be home - not far from you - if I can do anything.
Ben's teeth actually seemed to have settled over the last couple of days. He's still dribbling like nothing else, but the constant whinging has eased a bit. One looks SO close to cutting, but that will still leave three anyway *sigh*. I have it a lot better than you girls though, at least he's sleeping through right now. Actually, he's sleeping longer now than he has for a while. A growth spurt? Teething? Who knows? He's gone off his food though. There's always something....
Have a lovely day!
-
Just a quick q before Olivia demolishes the office.... Does anyone give their bubs fruit juice??? Olivia has gone off water, so I tried juice...about 50ml diluted in about 100 ml of water and she guzzeld it down..... is that ok????
better run

Yep, mel, I give Lily juice. about 1/4c diluted in her sippee cup once a day- she drinks 2-3 cups a day. I do it so I can give her her vitamins in it, they're liquid and taste pretty gross on their own, so that's how I give it to her.

Hi!
Long time no post!
Jen - Your place just sounds perfect being so close to the water! Wow! You'll have us all on your doorstep for a holiday soon! LOL! Yep - it's funny watching them run around the house and get tired! Dh said he doesn't want to get furniture for the room now - just wants the kids to be able to play in it! LOL - probably just as well as it will be some time before we can afford to furnish it! hehe.
In regards to swim nappies - me being the lazy person I am just used huggies disposable swim nappies...
Oh how funny...sorry, had to laugh out loud with the story of your dress going over your head - hehehe. I'm sure it wasn't funny for you at the time though...hehehehe.
Sorry to hear that Beau's having trouble with teething...
Gosh, I don't know how you do it without having a car! It must be so hard getting on buses etc
Mel - You'll cope just fine with 2! And Olivia will adjust as well! I really think it's easier when they're closer together from that perspective...I have a feeling I'll have more trouble with Louis now that he's going to be 3 (OMG!) than I will with Dylan - in some ways anyway...
Your welcome at our house anytime Mel!
Sorry to hear you've had trouble with Olivia sleeping...You must be super tired...we had a similiar thing with Dylan last week although didn't last the whole night! Remember the bubs are heading to 18m now so I'm sure it's time for some sort of developmental spurt!
In regards to juice...I don't generally give it - more of a special treat! He loves it though...I think diluted is ok as well...I think it ends up being more of a teeth issue if they have to much...constantly having sugar on the teeth is not good...
Kaz - LOL on room for the toys...I'm starting to get a bit nervous actually...was hoping they'd all fit nicely into the toy room but am thinking a trip to Ikea for some more storage is in order! LOL!
Yeah at laybying some xmas stuff - I'm getting so excited with xmas stuff coming into the shops!! (so are the kids - Dylan points and says Santa!) I'm not sure we'll be cashed up enough to go crazy this year - might have to add a few bits to our collection when they go on sale after xmas for next year! Being a ranch style house though now I'd love to get some lights up!
How cute of Pip to be sweeping under the bed! It's so cute when they help! Dylan likes setting the table and helping me in any other ways he can...
Kel - Sorry to hear your having trouble with Lily - I hope she's on the mend now - it can certainly be a juggle with the two of them needing you...thats great your mum was able to come over and give you a hand though!
Disgirl - Louis and Dylan are loving "cars" as well at the moment...we just got the dvd from bigpond movies and I'm not allowed to send it back yet (although santas bringing them a copy anyway!)
Yeah on having a great night out! Wow at your friend being due the same day - Cindy and I have our first bubs share a birthday and our second are 8 days apart but we're due only a day apart - very strange! LOL!
My boys love splashing water as well - I get them a little bucket outside with some paint brushes and let them "paint" the house or concrete...keeps them occupied for a while and no harm done!
LOL on all the fridge babies...Dylan doesn't bother with that but if I leave the pantry door open now he starts reorganising my cooking stuff shelf...I found a food colouring/food essence bottle on top of each jar I had just before...LOL! Maybe a bit OCD?? hehe.
Have just been busy trying to get organised (which I'm still not - LOL!) We're really enjoying the house though as are the boys!
We had a gorgeous day yesterday - the weather was beautiful so we had lunch outside and took the kids to the park and spent some nice time together...
Dylan is a little cheeky as per usual - he's starting to get really good at his colours - his favourite is purple and now he can say yellow...
Oh and I just realised a few days ago that Dylan has a molar through - LOL...didn't even notice...he's still only got 3 bottom teeth though - so he's up to 8 now...not sure why he's got a molar already and not his 4th bottom teeth but oh well...
They've been having lots of fun playing outside and exploring things!
For Kaz and Mel - I don't know if you're interested but I'm having a get together/Enjo party on Wed 29th Oct at 10.30am...Doesn't matter if you want anything or not but even just pop around for a play...Although Kaz - I assume you'll probably be working...the invitations there anyway!! Otherwise, perhaps we can organise another Monday catch up when your free and the kids can have a play here!
Ok...it's taken me all day to get this post done - and yes, I'm still in my pyjamas! Best got jump in the shower and get dressed - although I wonder now if I'd just get away with the day in pj's?? LOL! Chat later!

Hey all,
Thanks for the juice info....Will persist on water, although every time Olivia goes to mums, mum does a fresh juice for her...apple celery and carrot. i went to the health nurse today. Another different one so had to explain everything AGAIN, now the lady thinks Olivias hips dont look right and wants me to go back to the orthopaed early.
Also we had another crap night last night, bed at 830, up at 11, up at 1130, awake at 230, in bed with us. Awake from 5am. I have had bug ger all sleep and am so tired and emotional. She now has 2 definate eye teeth and the bottom 2 pushing through. Mum has offered to take her overnight every monday until after the bubs is born, so that might be something to think about.
DH and I did our tax today and I have lost my group certificate. Desperately trying to find it, but cant. Olivia is so ****ey now due to lack of sleep, shes either hitting me or herself....
ok better go
-
Big hugs Mel...I'm sure fresh juice would be good for Olivia when she has it...Bugger at having another opinion from the mchn...Hope her hips are ok...
Thats nice of your mum to offer to have her overnight! Might be worth it so you can get a good nights sleep!
Hope you find your group cert...there's nothing worse than losing something like that...
Dylans is going through a hitting stage as well...definitely developmental as Louis did the same thing at the same time age...takes lots of persistance and lots of no's to get them past it...we seem to be getting somewhere but yeah - when they're more tired/not feeling well they're more inclined to do it...
Chat later...

Hey thanks Kris- I would love to come to your party at the end of the month. Was just thinking that you might not be around for it or you wont be far off!!! Would be good to catch up. Let me know details a bit closer to the day.
We slept better last night, so hopefully that means a happy day!!! Hoping to find my group certificate to send to the accountant. Will also get onto the hip clinic at Monash.
Oh Kris- do u have to change hospitals now?????
Ok, hello everyone else hope ur well
-
Kris - darn, I'd love to come, I want more enjo! Might have to catch up with you before so I can place an order.
Mel - DH doesn't drink water, so thinks Pip won't either. So he gives juice in water - prolly about 20mls in a cup of water. Unless I don't pay attention! Then its more. Erk re the MCHN being new - good luck with the clinic.
Ladies - Maz is having a huge second-hand sale if you're interested in cloth nappies.
Us - well DH has had a few poos from hell (hehehe) and Pip's being a holy terror. Non-stop running! Sunday night DH put him to bed on the dot of 8pm and Pip didn't understand why he was in bed early .. wouldn't settle. Last night I played with him a bit and he wouldn't settle ... arghhhhhh.
Have a great day all.
-
Hi!
Mel - No worries - shall do! Will be great if you can come! Yeah on a better sleep last night! Nup...I'm still booked in at the Angliss - just hope this labour isn't a quick one or I'll be in trouble...have to get dh home from work and my mum over to watch the boys and they'll both be probably an hour + away from me and then another 30min to the hospital! I'm sure it won't happen that quick but it is a bit of a concern! LOL! Especially when you don't want to get everyone out for a false alarm - I'll have to be pretty sure! I was last time though so I'm sure it will all go smoothly! Was already getting painful bh last night 15min apart so pre-labour is really starting to kick in...At least we're settled now so it's not such a big deal...
Kaz - We're all mucked up here with daylight savings as well but in a postive way really! I didn't get the boys into bed until 8pm but Dylan slept in until 8am and Louis slept in til 9.30am! OMG! I do need to start winding it back to 7pm bedtime though...Dh and I were up to midnight so we need to sort ourselves out as well! LOL!
Hope Pip settled down for you soon with the time changes...
I wish you could come too - just ran out of weekends to hold it! Would be great to catch up another time though...
How's this? Was preparing dinner last night and Dylan sat down near me with a barrel of monkeys (game) for over an hour just putting them in and taking them out and playing whatever little game it was he'd made up! I couldn't believe it! Here I was thinking he had a shorter attention span....LOL! Was very nice and peaceful!
Cold here again in Melb...meant to warm up for the weekend though which will be great!
Better get some stuff done! Chat later

Well I'm back at work from a lovely extra long weekend :)
Kris, it's funny you mention that Dylan might be a little OCD - I often say that about Ben  He lines all his toys (pegs, people, cars) up so that they are exactly in a line. Gets very frustrated if they aren't just right!
Ben's also really good with his colours too. Orange and yellow (wewwo) are the two he ALWAYS gets right, but blue (goo) and red (dead  ) rate pretty highly too. I'm LOVING how he's learning so many words a day. He's just really fun to be around right now.
Mel, if you contact your employer, they should be able to get you a copy of your group certificate if you can't find it.
I don't give Ben juice. I tried the baby juices once, but he wasn't that fussed, so he just has water and milk.
When's your appointment with the hip specialist? Hope all is well with Olivia.
Kaz, we were really lucky with daylight saving. Ben didn't have a day nap yesterday so I put him to bed at 6:30. He fell straight asleep and slept until 5:30 this morning. I LOVE our blockout shutters - I think they help eliminate some of the daylight confusion.
Are Pip's poo's from teething? Ben's had some shockers lately too.
We've had a really good few days. I thoroughly enjoyed having four straight days at home with my little man and can't wait to be back on maternity leave! Ben has two new teeth, the eye tooth on the right hand side and the corresponding bottom tooth. The left hand ones are about to come through too. Hopefully that will be it for a while then! We're lucky because when Ben is teething, he sleeps an awful lot! On Saturday for example, he had a 4.5 hour nap and then slept for 11.5 hours that night!!!!
I'm only at work today and tomorrow and then I have another four day weekend - woohoo!
-
Hello there....
Seems like yonks since I posted! Been bust this weekend with different visitors every day but its been fun (and hard work!!)
I'll be brief as I am trying to watch Insight - anyone else watching Its about childcare for under 2's....
Wow at all these bubs and there colours!! So impressed!! beau has been a super mega grump lately with teething but was really great with all the different kids and adults in the house this weekend which was lovely to see - my brother couldnt beleive how easily he goes to sleep on his own :D I must admit we are so blessed there!
He was much better today but I hear you on the daylight savings - he was asleep till 8am today which is UNHEARD of since he was 5months!!! He is still going down at 7pm tho.
Apart from that - I try and get no added sugar and preservatives in the juice Beau has - he has about 1 to 5 ratio to water and I make him fresh fruit smoothies and squeeze orange juice and things too (and he has water) - we have just moved to sippy cups so he isnt drinking as much atm.
OK - much love to everyone - xxx
-
Yay found my group certificate.....put it in the wrong folder!!!!
This baby is so low and pushing down. I have trouble standing up straight at times coz I feel pulling. Have my midwife appointment tomorrow so should be interesting, although I'm not quite 33 weeks yet. I have a feeling I am going to go pretty early...just a guessing game though!!!
Ok, think I need to find chocolate or ice cream:)
Oh and dh has just made Olivia a gadget box...it has switches that turn lights on and off and buzzers with volume controls. Shes just like her father....excited by electricity!!!
Jen- thats a whopper sleep b had. Hope you dont have too much trouble with the teeth.
mel- lucky you on the long weekends.
Oh and Olivia isnt great on colours...I need to start thinking about these things.....
All over the place, so am going!!!
Love melissa
-
Hi girls!
Mel, what a great idea with the gadget box! You're very clever and creative. Good luck with your appointment today.
Jen, how good are the sleep ins? Craig and I got to BOTH stay in bed until 7:45 on Monday due to daylight saving. That's probably the first time since Ben was born  I had to get him out of that before it became habit unfortunately though, due to us leaving the house at 6am evey morning :(
Ben's only good at his colours because he's lucky enough to have my mum's full-on attention all day every day. She spoils him rotten with attention and all the games she plays have elements of learning. Things as simple as handing him a pencil, she'll say "That's the yellow pencil" and get him to repeat it. He's a very fortunate boy in that his Nanny NEVER tires of him. He doesn't get that much attention when he's at home with me!!!! But mum and dad are off to Qld today so he's going to be stuck at home with his mum for the next few weeks - poor Ben!
Today is my Friday - that makes such a difference psychologically!!!! :)
-
Hi!
Disgirl - Yeah on spending time with Ben! Thats great your mum does so much with Ben...I was like that with Louis but seem to have lost it a bit with Dylan...god knows what will happen when the next bubs arrives! LOL! Once we've settled in I'm hoping I'll be a bit more into it all...All my spare time at the moment is taken with unpacking and organising...not to mention the cleaning! LOL!
Jen - Glad you had a good weekend and enjoyed your visitors! Glad Beau's sleeping well and enjoying sleep ins!
Mel - Yeah at finding your group certificate! Can't wait to hear how you go at your midwife appt...hope bubs is happy to stay put for a few more weeks yet though - I know your over it but best for bubs to keep growing in mummy!
The Gadget box sounds fantastic - how clever!
Well, I managed to clean half the house yesterday and could hardly walk by last night - sciatic pain kicked in well and truly...seems better again today...vacuuming definitely doesn't help!
My little Boy is going to be 3 tomorrow! I can't believe it - I'm hoping to get some of his party decorations up tonight (he's having a party on Sat) so he can wake up to it! Depends how keen dh is to blow up balloons I suppose! I haven't even wrapped his pressies yet...off to the shops today to get some paper and sticky tape (can't find any at the moment - LOL!) and last minute party supplies...Will do food shopping tomorrow...
Ok - better get organised or we'll get nowhere today...chat later!
-
Hey
My midwife appointment went well. Am measuring 34 weeks...so just a tad bigger than last time. Head is down low, hb is 140 bpm. Everything is normal as can be:) I dont have another appointment for another month. Seems like such a long time!!!
Adam is very excited about his gadget box that he wired up last night. He hasnt finished it yet, so she hasnt played with it but its going to be a very noisy toy. It will save me from picking her up to press buttons on the wall!!!!
I need some tips on being a good sah mum, in regards to teaching Olivia stuff. What kind of things should I have to teach her. We only have toys that shes been given, nothing really educational. She has a great vocab, so not worried about that, just need some tips.
Well, am off to Cranbourne race club to have lunch with a friend. Might go into their shopping centre and do some window shopping:)
Have a great day,
-
Mel - Yeah at a great appt! I'm with you on the appts being far apart! I'm only just going to 2 weekly now! It's good though as it means everythings all good and thats the way we want it!
In regards to the teaching stuff...just interraction in everyday things will be good enough! They really are still only so little - colours, basic counting - 1, 2, 3, animals, role playing - on the phone etc then play wise - toys like puzzles, blocks, anything stacking and organising...They also just want to be involved with what you do...Dylan loves helping set the table and putting dishes away out of the dishwasher, putting food back in the pantry...and of course anything that helps dad outside they love...Gosh there's probably lots more but thats all I can think of....
Oh...and things like doing the shopping - getting them to find the fruit/veg or name them - it's just everyday learning but much better sometimes being hands on rather than just reading a book iykwim?
I'm sure you're doing all that already and lots more without even thinking about it!
Enjoy your lunch out!
