Hi girls, we've had a shocking week here. Poor Ben had strawberry yoghurt on Sunday and we have been paying ever since :( See, he has been having strawberry jam and baby/toddler strawberry yoghurt so we thought he'd be alright with normal strawberry yoghurt. Didn't even really think about it to tell the truth. Apparantly there are more strawberries in normal strawberry yoghurt. We had a rash, vomiting for two days and the diahrea (sp?) is still going on :( Poor little guy has been so lethargic, all he's done is watch DVDs. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is driving me nuts  Anyway, he's only had one day sleep in his big boy bed and chucks it when we try to put him in it any other time. We haven't pushed it since he's been so unwell, but next week is going to be a bit yuck.
He has just woken up from a 3.5hr nap and has eaten a whole tin of baked beans (must be the magic cure all huh Kaz? :) ) which is by far the most he's eaten all week so DH and I are thrilled. He seems to have really, finally turned a corner :)
Kaz, glad you and Pip are on the mend, and that you managed to avoid the three day care poos!
Kel, yay on Lil finally sleeping through!!! I hope you have had more of those nights since.
Kris, Your boys truly do sound gorgeous. I get the feeling that all three of them are going to be the best of friends growing up.
Mel, Geez you're having a rough time. I"m all for bfing, but sometimes the stress just isn't worth it. My sis had to give it up after two months after her third case of mastitis. Her and bubs were much happier after that. I think it's good that you've given yourself a deadline to get things sorted, as Jen said, much less stress that way.
Definitely get rid of Chrissy day! No way could I have Chrissy here and I don't even have a newborn!
Jen, sounds like the Chrissy party was a doozy! Beau sounds like he's a big boy!
Sorry it's short and sweet guys, but my time is severely limited (more so than normal!) right now. I've had some problems with the site too, I tried to log on twice earlier this week and got no love so hopefully whatever the problem was is fixed.
Take care :)

Hi all,
I am around, just really busy. I have been keeping up with reading posts, but just no time to respond much. My MIL is here from Qld since, until Sunday, so just entertaining her and also lots of Christmas stuff going on. It was an unexpected visit, cause her aunty passed away so she came for the funeral (don't get me started on this...none of his family have visited in 10yrs we've been together, she couldn't even come to visit for her 2 grandchildren's births, but for the funeral of a distant old aunty...who was 80!!! Grrrr!). She's staying at my mums house, LOL!
Anyway....we are well, still plodding along, Lily has another cold, I'm trying to keep Liam well, though I don't really like my chances, Lily is all over him most of the time! She loves her Li Li. No sleep in this house still, I am so tired! I just had a half hour nanna nap with Liam and the kids are still in bed, though Lily is coughing like no tomorrow, so I don't think it will be peaceful for long....so I should go and make dinner.
I hope everyone is well and has a great weekend! :D

Just thought i would pop in and say hi!!! Been busy, made the hard decision to give up b/feeding coz Becca was not taking it and I couldnt do the expressing anymore as Olivia was missing out and i was spending so much time with the whole feeding process it was driving me to tears. Rebecca had such a bad rash on her bum that wasnt responding to anything, she was pooing constantly and it was liquid and bubbly. I took her to the gp and he prescribed a combo of creams. That was yesterday arvo. I also put her on formula exclusively then too. By this morning her bum looks so much better and shes not in pain. Am glad I have made my decision. So i am trying to dry up my milk. My boobs are huge, not sore though. I have been using cabbage leaves for pain relief. I got a script for Parlodol which is supposed to dry up milk but after taking it I felt unwell. So I have gotten onto the cold and flu tablets coz the psuedoeffidrine is supposed to suppress milk production. Hope it doesnt take long.
Well Olivia and I are off to see the wiggles today and dh is home with Becca.
-
Hi!
Mel - You definitely have to do whats right for you and to keep your sanity! Good for you for making the decision...I'm sure you'll be able to relax a lot more with the girls without having to worry about the feeding side of things...I hope your milk dries up quickly for you...big hugs!
Kel - Sorry to hear Lily's sick again...How fun having your MIL there..NOT! LOL! Hope you enjoy your day tomorrow after she goes home! LOL!
Disgirl - Oh no! Poor Ben...Good luck getting him to sleep in his bed next week!
Well...as for us, I survived a night with the kids on my own...Louis stuffed around and wouldn't go to bed though and Ethan was up until after 10pm unsettled...grrr! Managed to get a little xmas wrapping done after that and collapsed into bed about 11pm only to have Dylan cry 20min later and then Ethan feed an hour after that...Ethan fed again after that around 4am but luckily he settled back down quickly so I could get some sleep...So glad Dh is coming home tonight though! LOL!
We're off to the Wiggles tomorrow at Rod laver - so excited, and then after that will go and look at the Myer windows and maybe Crown casino if they still have the display there...we'll see what we can be bothered with - LOL! It's going to be a big day thats for sure!
Enjoy your weekends!!
-
The wiggles was fantastic Kristie, have fun tomorrow. I did get a parking fine though coz the main car park was closed and it was pouring so we parked on the nature strip!!! Oh well, we had fun anyway and it was good for some me and Olivia time. We still have to put the xmas tree up so will do that after her nap.speaking of which!!! I think i could do with one!
Hugs Kel- poor Lil, hope she doesnt spread it to Liam.
HEy mel, kaz and jen, ok think my eyes are telling me something.
Oh by the way, dh got me a new laptop yesterday...its wonderful!!!
-
Glad you had fun Mel! I'm very excited...I took the boys last year and it was great! Bugger at getting a fine - I don't blame you though! LOL! Hope you manage a snooze!
Managed to get some bikkies made and some pressies wrapped today so I'm happy...Dylan and Ethan are asleep and Louis is doing a puzzle..I'm sure it won't last for much longer but I'm enjoying it! LOL!
-
Mel-so glad you came to a dicision with b/f remember it is not the end of the world if you have to switch to formula...With dd I put so much pressure on myself and she would just not latch on and if she did it was for a second until she pulled off screaming..so I decided I would express by hand for the next 13 months..ended up with RSI in both of my wrists..oh the things we do...with James there was no way I was going to do that to myself again and brought all the bottles and formula just incase...but thankfully he got the whole latching on thing..there was no way I would have been able to express for him ahving Natasha to look after as well...
jen-I wish I could have a day to shop alone lol....it is almost impossible to do the xmas shopping with Tash following me around....
Kris-how was the kinder orientation day????I can't believe that is is Natasha's last year of kinder next year....how did you find the other mums??? the kinder Tash goes to the mums are all stuck up and in the year she was there none of them have aknowledged me yet the all turned up to Tasha's party cause there were ponies...
mel-bummer on the fined..we are going today and I am stressing about getting wet since it seems to keep raining off and on
kel-Sorry to hear Lil is sick...James is always sick he has tonsilitas yet again but thankfully I have been able to keep the rest of the house healthy..although i feel i am getting a saw throat today
dis-How's Ben doing now? I hope much better..
Well we are going to the wiggles concert at 4pm today so have the kids down for a nap am hoping to go to the casino afterwards to see there christmas show I went with work and it was rather good the kids would love it..Am also hoping to take dh to the kings all you can eat buffet there he has been wanting to go for years now..I don't think his chances are good though because we have just had late nights everyday this week and the kids and myself are just stuffed....while the kids are having there nap i guess i should try making dinner so I have it ready for when we get home just incase...
-
Hi girlies,
Mel, I bet it's a weight off now you have made the decision to stop bfing. I know it was for me when I was feeding Lil. All the time it takes to express, bf, bottlefeed, sterilise bottles.....I wouldn't have been able to do that this time, not with Lily too, she's too full on. And you just don't have the time with two.
Glad you had fun at the wiggles!! Poo about the fine though!
Kris, my MIL isn't too bad, and she was staying at my mums so I didn't have to deal with her all day! I think I would have gone a bit batty if I had though....she did stay here last night though and came here and helped me with folding the clothes and washed up the dishes after dinner, so maybe it wouldn't have been so bad having her here!
It's always the way with being on your own with the kids, I always have a tough nights when DH is at work on a night shift. The kids sense it!
Hope you had fun at the wiggles too!
Von, wow, another wiggles concert-goer! Hope you had fun too, lol!! Hope you got your nap and night out too.
Well, we are all sick again...Lily is sooo generous with her germs! I have had a nanna nap with Liam this arvo cause I felt so crappy. AF is back already and today was my first day and I was just feeling soo off, and with a cold, yuck!! I still feel like I could go to bed soon too, so thats probably good, I wont be in bed at midnight, only to wake with Lil at the crack of dawn for the day tomorrow, not to mention that I'll undoubtedly be up a thousand times otherwise!
We had DH's work picnic today. It was pretty nice, a beautiful day. Though Liam got a bit sunburnt. I didn't put sunscreen on him, thinking he's too little for it (did any of you use kids sunscreen on your bubs when they were so young? Lil was really sensitive to it at his age so I couldn't use it on her. I haven't tried on Liam thinking he'd be the same) and that we'd just sit in the shade. Which we did mostly, but I guess the few times he was out in the sun was enough for his delicate white white skin! Poor little monkey's head is burnt. His hair looks like a halo when he's in the light cause his head is so red, LOL! Lily had a ball and ran daddy ragged! She's sooo full on. My girlfriend said she didn't realise she was so bad until now. It was nice to be acknowledged and to have people know how much of a handful she is for me especially DH! It's so hard to run after her with Liam too now. I tell people she's 'energetic', 'busy' and 'inquisitive' (read non stop, into everything monster!!) and they're like 'oh yeah so is....' or 'Oh well she is at that age' they just don't understand!!
Anyway, I'm off, might go to bed....
-
Kel, that is NOT Liam in your ticker is it? Bugger about you all being sick again! I won't be one of those mum's who say "Yeah, Ben is like that too" because he totally isn't. Sure he's energetic, but he's not into everything, isn't a climber or anything like your little girl is. Think of all she must be learning though :)
I put sunscreen on Ben from day one. I used the Banana Boat (I think?) rollon that comes in a pink roll-on thingy. Ben has sensitive skin and gets eczma, but we never had a problem with that. DH and I are as white as they come and Ben is almost translucent so we didn't want to take any risks.
Von, how were the Wiggles, did you have a good time? Did you make it to the buffet?
Kris, my DH works night so I'm alone with Ben from midnight on most nights. It's true what Kel said, the kids sense it. Ben seems to go through rough patches waking up right when DH leaves, but gets over it in a couple of days.
Did you guys enjoy the Wiggles?
Mel, good on you for making a decision about breastfeeding. I bet you're all feeling much better about it now :) Has Becka's bottom cleared up totally? Is Olivia enjoying having more mummy time?
Hi Jen and Kaz!
Us, we're doing better! Ben is OVER his allergy, although he still has dark circles under his eyes and has lost so much weight. We're going to have to work on building his little beer gut back up I think. We had my dad's family Chrissy party on Saturday and although it was nice, I didn't have as much fun as I've had in the past - it was far too hot (34) and I got heartburn from lunch. Ben got some good pressies though, but after he opened the first one and saw it was something to do with Thomas, he wasn't interested in the rest! Thank God I've got him some Thomas stuff for Christmas!
He's moved into his new room and his big bed and is doing really well. We cheated a bit for a few sleeps and I'd go in and lie down next to him, but last night and this morning he's gone down by himself! He even knows that that room is now his and if you tell him to go find something in his room he goes in there and not into his old room. For bum changes I tell him to go into the baby's room and he goes into his old room :D Couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother!!!
We're struggling a bit to get back into a routine though, his bedtime hasn't been earlier than 9pm since he's been sick. I'm hoping tonight will be much smoother and EARLIER.
I'm pooped after a morning at the park so I'm going to see if I can catch half an hour's sleep before Buster wakes up.
-
LOL, sure is DG, he's 4mths old on the 17th. Isn't he a spunk??!! :D
-
Hey All...
Just read thru everyones posts and caught up on all the yoghurt, breastfeeding and parking fine tales....no time or energy to post as I have a cracking headache and reading the computer screen is not helping!!
Love to all, :kissing:

-
Hey All,
Jen- hope your headache goes away quickly.
Von- good to hear from you. Thanks, am happy about my feeding decision and now we can get on with things!
Kel- yep, he is a spunk!
Mel- hope you get bens beer gut back up. Poor little mite.
Kris- how did you go at the Wiggles?
US- well am quickly typing before Olivia wakes up. Things are getting easier...at times, but am enjoying it now I swaped Bec over to FF. Shes now drinking most of her 120ml bottle and sleeping better too. She so awake now and has given me her first smile yesterday after I was tickling her face and gooing at her...she was probably laughing at me!!!! She over her birth weight now, 3.6kg. We have all our appointments made for the hip specialist next month, so am hoping its all good. Her foot is also much better and we just have to keep on with physio.
Olivia has been sick. Shes on ABs. Her tonsills were all pussy and she was running a temp. I think she also may be getting the back molars, shes dribbling and has her hand in her mouth a lot. She also started biting down on stuff again....
Yesterday morning she wet through her nappy, so I striped the cot and didnt make it up. So by the time her nap came around, I put her in her toddler bed and shut the door. Well....what a horrible arvo we had!!! I could hear her in there playing, so after an hour I went in there and she was laying on the floor playing with my stethascope. SHe had done a poo, so I changed her and put her back to bed. With a firm "NO" she got out, so I put her in the cot and shut the door. She screamed and screamed. I was so tired and hoping for a nap, I put her in my room and shut the doors. She kept screaming and did the whole tantrum thing. She almost pulled the basinett down too. Eventually she got onto my bed and fell asleep at 3...usually her wake up time. We were both asleep til 5pm and she was So grumpy. I put her to bed a bit later last night but she didnt sleep til about 930pm. Thats why shes asleep now!!! I really want to get her into her bed, but I just dont know how and I'm not going through that again. Might have to look at getting another cot for Rebecca......
Anyway, should go see if shes awake, dont fancy another wet through!
Take care
Love Melissa

Good Morning....
Oh Mel, what a day/night you had! I dont have any advice regarding the big bed for Olivia, I havnt even contemplated that yet with Beau! How long can Becca stay in the bassinet for? 3 or 6months? I would let it go for a while if you can or maybe try and take a nap with Olivia on the big bed? (If the chance ever arises that is!) i guess anything out of her routine, including the cot, is going to end in tears - maybe Kris has some suggestions??? Glad you are feeling better now you are bottle feeding Becca and she has a full tummy and is happier too!
Dis - Hope Ben is feeling better now, how strange that he can have jam but not the yoghurt? Goes to show the stuff in the jam isnt real huh? How cute with him and the nappy changes in the bubbas room, what a cutie! Did you get an earlier night last night?
Kris - Isnt it always the way when you are on your own? Trust you to wrap gifts after! Hilarious!
Kel - Liam is a little cutie too! Sorry Lil is sick and infected you all. Hugs that Lil is such an adventurous little girl, I know people will try and say "at least she is inquisitive" or whatever, but we all know better! Cant imagine Beau on speed, which is what she sounds like :D And with Liam now too.....far out! Glad your MIL wasnt as bad as expected - at least she stayed elsewhere!
Kaz- Hi, hope Pip and yourself are doing better x
Von- Mmm xmas shopping was ok, never as good as you hope though when its so so so busy! Hope you have had a chance to get yours done solo too.... Nice to hear from you! Expressing for 13months? Is your medal in a cabinet???? Far out, you are one determined mumma!
Us - we are great, I am going through this real lovey period with Beau, he is smothering me with cuddles all the time and really clingy and finally learnt to say "Mum-mum" again! He is learning lots of new words and his favourite is "bread" atm! Just got back from the shop this morning, it was so busy, the lines in Kmart were 10 deep and it was 8:30am!!! He got a chocolate doughnut to ease the pain of queing....his sleeps are still ok in the day 1and a half to 2 and a half hours atm which is ok - he has been waking at 5:45am but as this house is so light in the morning!! Not complaining tho Mel, Kris and Kel....I know you are getting much less than any of us.
Ok I am getting pushed off the chair by someone....
-
Well, I finally made it back to the computer, feels like weeks, but it's only been a couple of days.
Jen, yup, just proves that there is basically NO fruit in baby yoghurt or jam. Oh well, we learned our lesson and know for sure that it's no strawberries for quite some time. He had a teeny bit of pineapple from a pizza last night and so far no ill effects so it looks like he might not be allergic to pineapple at least - we were told he might be since apparantly they are linked?!?!?
The shops here weren't too bad early yesterday. As we were leaving it was bedlam, but at 9am I managed to get a parents with prams spot near the front so it couldn't have been too bad! Hopefully I won't have to venture back to them until after Chrissy now.
Mel, I'm sorry, I have no advice on getting Liv to sleep in her toddler bed. I'm still dozing off with Ben most of the time, although he will go off when left alone by himself occassionally. He's really out of whack with his routine/schedule and is overtired a lot so I'm happy to keep doing it for the time being. Besides, we're going camping for a week next weekend so that will be the end of anything established between now and then!
So glad to hear you and Rebecca are much happier now!
OMG Kel, yes he is a little spunk! I thought for sure it couldn't be him. Far out time has gone so fast. I mean, I'm supposed to be having a baby in five weeks' time! Better give some serious thought to that hospital bag that still hasn't packed itself!
Us, well, we're all over the place. I've almost given up on any sort of routine. We're up until ridiculous times at night, sometimes waking late sometimes early. Late naps. But at least he's eating like a pig already and my MIL and SIL who saw him last night for the first time since he got sick, wouldn't believe that he lost weight  The beer gut is back! I honestly don't know where he puts all the food....well I do, the dirty nappies are back as well
As I mentioned above, we're going camping after Chrissy and we're spending Chrissy Eve at the inlaws so I don't think I'll try too hard with getting the routine back in place. It'll all go out the window anyway. He's happy enough most of the time, just grumpy when he first wakes up (he sure is my son!). He's totally obsessed with "Goccer" which you might know as soccer and insists on playing a million times a day. Won't play with me if Daddy is home, I get ordered off the field  He's also still obsessed with Thomas and Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. Not Mickey and Donald, but the girls for some reason! Thomas is proving useful in the morning as when it's on tele I duck in for a peaceful shower! Thank God he's getting a bunch of Thomas DVDs for Chrissy I'm sure they'll be worth their weight in gold once the bub is here.
Oh dear, I'm rambling, sorry about that. Feel like I've been deprived of computer time lately. Can you believe it's only a week til Chrissy? I can't wait!!!
-
Oh, we've just had a lovely day :) Had my mw appt this morning and she said bub is behaving very well. Has been engaged on and off, bp and hr all perfect :) She is also positive about not needing an episiotomy and the super-vac this time, I just hope she's right! I really, really love having the same mw for this one as I did for Ben I think it's going to make things go a lot more smoothly.
We also had a mother's group Chrissy thing this afternoon and we had a ball. 8/10 mums and bubs turned up which is pretty good considering so many have gone back to work. Ben was really having a blast with all the girls (the two missing were the only other boys!). It was really good to see since he's always been a bit of a loner (shy like Craig) and only recently has started showing an interest in other kids. One thing I didn't like though - the little girls taught him to scream! Argh! I hope he forgets by the time he wakes up from his nap
Out of my MG of 10, six of us are either UTD or already have a second bub! Geez, we're a keen bunch aren't we? It's kinda like this group here :)
Feeling good again today :) Looking forward to a few cooler days over the weekend though. Ben has been kept inside out of the heat too much this week - he needs a run around outside!
-
Mel- glad to hear that you had a great time at mothers group. Also is good to hear about your mw experience...not too long to go now. As for the squealing...my girl is so good at it...shes doing it now!!!!
Hello everyone else!!
Its a beautiful day here today and I am doing washing...bedding, towels clothes, all in hope that it dries before the wet weather comes back!!!
I went xmas shopping last night on my own, oh it was so good, but I still havent finished. Olivia and Becca are doing well. Am loving the smiles I get from Becca now.
Well, have a great weekend.
-
Hi girls,
Jen, hope you're feeling better now. I've had a few headaches lately too, I think it's hormonal (AFA is back already) as well as the sleepless nights! Hey maybe you're pg????
Yeah, Lil's a monkey alright, and soooo willful. She just wants what she wants and theres little that will deter her. She's very determined and decisive, which are really good traits to have...as an adult! Not an almost 2yr old when mummy wants you to do what she says, LOL! It's the stuff of mighty tanties
Mel, I'm so glad that things are settling for you. It must be a great weight lifted. Sorry to hear Olivia has been sick too, I hope she's on the mend.
Don't talk to me about toddler beds...I have to try to get Lily into her big girl bed and I'm not looking forward to it! She will sleep in there with her Da, I haven't tried her on her own yet though...
Oh how I wish I could go chrissy shopping on my own! I haven't been anywhere on my own in months!
Dis, well I am biased, but I think he's gorgeous! So is my girl, I can't believe the comments I get when out shopping or whatever, as I'm sure everyone does, but it makes me so proud! And yep, time is flying wayyyyy too fast. You will see whan #2 comes. It's a bit sad, but you just don't have the time to sit and ponder your beautiful new baby like you did the first time.
Glad you've had a lovely few days. It sounds like being at home again is agreeing with you :)
As for us, we have been ok. Sleep is still an issue, and tonight I am buggered (should be in bed now, but I need some down time! Adn Liam only went to sleep 40mins ago). When DH is working I get next to no sleep. When he's home I am ok, he looks after Lily at night and gets up with her in the morning so I get a workable amount. It's the morning that kills me, getting up at 5-5.30am should be illegle (sp??!)
Lil is a monkey, though has been pretty good the past couple of days. Before that I was having a tough time dealing with her. We seem to go in waves. She is such a joy sometimes and such a character, then she does something monstrous, like getting a dining chair, getting the bread knife off the bench and bringing it to me while Im feeding Liam saying 'Nononono' to me....I guess at least she brought it to me, though she wouldn't give it to me and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it in her hands.
I brought an ergo the other day, OMG! They are heavenly!! I carried Liam in it all day around Parramatta westfeilds (a biiig shopping centre) and couldn't feel his weight on me at all. Then I carried Lil in it on my back down to the shops for a few hours and again, it was great! I am in luuurve with it!!! LOL :D
Anyway I should probably go to bed or I'll never get any sleep. Bye all hope you have great weekends, and if some of you don't drop in for a while,
Merry Christmas!!!
-
Kel-Sick again?I think oy have my bad luck with illness lol?I am now sick with this awful chest infection and James got over his tonsillitis only to now get what I have?argghhh?.Just wanted to add Liam is one gorgous boy
Dis-LOL?of course we did not get to the buffet..that would have been to perfect?after the concert the kids were ferrel so thought we would spare everyone else at the casino from our rat bag kids?wow so Ben is in a bed now?? How did you introduce it? Great that the preg is going well
Mel-how is the bed situation going now? Any better?
Jen-don?t know about determined maybe just insane lol?am planning to do my xmas shopping tonight since the shops are open to midnight?sooo can?t be bothered but someone has to do it?don?t think I should rely on santa to deliver all the goods..
Sorry ladies it is a rushed post James has decided not to have his arvo nap today and well I just can not be bothered fighting him over it after the morning I have had??Natasha stuck a bead up her nose and of course I could not get it out so off to emergency we went and spent the next hour sitting there until I got tired if waiting and got her to start blowing as hard as she could and after me holding her nostril and much snots lol it came flying out?..so that was my morning and well this arvo has not improved and have to do the xmas shopping tonight after the kids are in bed?so can not be bothered?.we are having 20 people for xmas lunch and I am nmo where near prepared..oh well must go james is now trying to pull me away from the computer
If I don?t get back in her before Christmas just wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas hope you all get spoilt from Santa
