Sorry to hear that you guys are having a hard time. Lil's been pretty good so far today too. She's sleeping now after trying to put her down about four times... she just doesn't like to sleep in her cradle in the day for some reason?! She's fine at night but in the day time....she doesn't sleep much aside from catnaps. Oh well, as long as she's good at night I can handle it!
She's been feeding less today too, thankfully! Yesterday it was every 2 hours until 10:30 last night when she finally went to bed for the night. Today she's feeding more like every 3 hours.
My DH has gone out to do the groceries. It's been 3 weeks since we shopped, I don't know how we've survived! Although I was in hospital for a full week. We have nothing to eat now except rivitas and 4 slices of bread! LOL :)
Danni, I'm still using breast shields on and off too. I'm trying to only use it for every second feed or for half a feed, to try to toughen up my nipples, but they just don't seem to be getting used to it! She's attaching properly since I've seen the LC, so I don't know why they're still sore, maybe its just the normal pain people get? Or I'm just a wuss...that might be more like it, hehehe. They were pretty bad before though, being scabby and blistered really badly. They are better now really, and I'm lucky Lily is such a piggy and isn't fussed with using the shields or the bare nipple. Hopefully soon I can get rid of the shields. Good luck for your day visit.
I pretty sure I got a real smile from Lil today too, twice! She's been smiling alot from birth but it's from wind, but this morning I'm sure it was a real one. I was talking to her and she gave me the biggest grin, twice. She has a dimple in one cheek, she's soo cute!! (No I'm not biased....;) )
Aren't mums the best? Mine came over the other day when I had a really bad day and she cleaned for me. I hadn't even managed to get changed myself let alone do the washing up. And then she came over and did it all.
Kristie, I can only imagine how hard it is with a toddler and a new born....your entitled to rotten days and being tired!! Does Louis still wake at night too, or does he sleep through? It would be hard to have two bubs who wake through the night.
My DH isn't as bad as I make him sound most of the time! Though he really doesn't have a clue how hard it is for me. I'm not used to having something be so dependant on me and not being able to do my own thing when I want (as I'm sure all the new mums feel at the mo!). I like my own time and I'm used to being alone for some of the time, so this is such a big change!
I hope Lil sleeps like that all the time too, except for the three hours awake after. She literally fed for most of that time, she must have been starving! She's pretty good really. Especially after reading about the tough times others are having.
Ok DH is home and I should help him!
Kel.
-
kel: im using the shield as he will not latch on properly. he cant get enough nipple in his mouth! good on you for being able to feed without it :D
-
Hi!
Danni - Good luck getting into the day stay again! I'm sure it will all go well!
Caro - Hi! How's little Michael going??
Kel - LOL on not doing the shopping! Wow on smiles already! Nup - Louis sleeps through luckily. He's woken a few times lately from Dylan crying but just needs a dummy and for us to lay him back down...so it's all easy. I know what you mean about having time to yourself. Even with Louis being the age he is we're used to having from 7pm onwards to ourselves! Which is all gone out the window for a while anyway!! I promise you'll get your time back eventually! LOL!
Chat later...
-
Perhaps a good nights sleep would do it Caro... hehehe.
-
Well Olivia put on 650gms in 2 weeks, now 3.9kgs and is 2 cms taller! yay
Shes farting in my hand!!!!!thats cute but stinky. got to go... shes hungry:)
-
LOL at Olivia farting in your hand Melissa - Ben does that too!
I've been MIA guys, sorry but we've been so busy! Ben and I have had our first solo outting to watch DH play soccer, we've been shopping three times, visiting the grandparents and walking the dog. We were out every day for six days in a row and then I got a cold :( Mum came over yesterday afternoon with a suitcase packed :) Last night she took care of Ben when he was unsettled and I got four hours and then three hours sleep between feeds while mum stayed up with him - it was heaven! This afternoon I woke from a two hour nap to find all my ironing done - it's fantastic!
DH had gone back to work and is missing his little man SO much! When he gets home all he wants to do is cuddle him - it's adorable.
Ben had a really unsettled morning the other day (Monday I think?) and didn't settle until I whacked him in the HAB where he promptly fell asleep. I love that thing! He's been weighed a few times and is steadily putting on weight. He put on 100gms over the weekend alone. He loves his booby juice!
Sorry for no personals - mum is here again tonight and I feel a bit guilty for sneaking a few minutes on the computer!
For you girls whose DH's aren't helping out as much as you need, remind them that in some cultures the new mums aren't even allowed out of bed for six weeks and are waited on hand and foot! How boring would that be though?
-
Hi!
Mel - Yeah at the weight gain!
Disgirl - Bugger about getting a cold - Thats sounds so nice having your mum to help. Omg - you guys all sound like your getting so much help from your mums - I'm sooo jealous!
I was changing Dylans bum today and he explosively shat everywhere - Like it sprayed out about a metre and hit my bedroom door and ran down it onto the carpet - sooo gross! hehehe.
I booked in for a massage for next weekend! I can't wait - a whole hour! Now it will just be a matter of hoping that I can fit in feeds around it! (I'm sure I'll manage though!)
Wishing you all lots of sleep tonight!
-
Mason has pooed all over my hand/arm once! He DRENCHED the mchn nurse today with wee, and last night he made the curtains drip ;)
-
PMSL.....its so funny. Sometimes I think I have a boy too coz Olivia loves to pee straight up in the air as soon as I take her nappy off from under her bum. The look on her face is priceless. She makes the face the same as the people on the coon ad in the pictures! Thankfully she wont be able to pee in her mouth!!!!! Or on the curtains!!!
-
Boys are gross! LOL! Yeah we have pee go everywhere as well. Dylans pooed heaps - it's when I lift his little legs up to clean him that he goes crazy. I think it must be a wind and poos caught up there and when I lift his legs it just comes shooting out. I reckon it happens at least once a day at the moment!!!!
Still...better out than in!
I'm watching the end of house and going to bed...I have a bit day tomorrow - I'm heading off to a play centre with Cindy so the kids can have a play. Hopefully I can get organised enough in the morning so I'm not late!!!
-
Same thing with Matt here Kristie! He is a good pooer once that nappy comes off :-) I have had to change clothes after a nappy change a few times lol.
Matt had heaps of wind last night, he wouldn't bring it up and couldn't push it out the other end, so he didn't sleep very well, nor eat well overnight. But he's doing a lot better today. Must have been something I ate, I guess.
Wish I could do personals, but no time, DS1 has finished lunch and is trying to get my attention. One of these days...
-
Mason finally got some sleep! (and so did we ;))!! god i feel much better now :D
In the beginning, every time we took his nappy off he would fart and poop, but not recently?
Poor boy was farting in his sleep all night! Thank goodness it didnt wake him though.
Have fun today kristie! Tomorrow Im taking Mason to a baby show! I need to find something for him to wear and Im gunna spike his hair :D

This thread is so hard to keep up with … there’s so much to read and so much to say, and Jambin doesn’t let me have 2mins to myself lately … I couldn’t even go to the toilet until my mum came around yesterday at 6pm.
Kelliem – lucky you getting smiles from Lily! I get a few from Jambin, but they’re usually accompanied by some serious farting, so I’m pretty sure he’s not smiling at me LOL.
Danni – that’s great news about Mason’s weight gain. He’ll be fitting into 4 0’s in no time! Keep doing whatever you’re doing sweets – it’s obviously working!
Iona – how are your boobies going? I hope they’re healing up well. Good luck with your clinic appt today.
Melissa – How did your orthopaedic appt today? I have a friend who gave birth the day before I did – her little girl had bilateral hip dysplasia, and she’s been wearing a Pavlik harness since birth.
DisGirl – yeah for Ben’s weight gain!! That’s great that the HAB is working for you too. I’m struggling to use mine, although DH loves wearing it, so I’m considering buying a different type of sling.
Kristie – OMG at Dylan’s explosive poo!!! I can’t believe it hit the door lol. We haven’t had anything like that here yet … although we call Jambin ‘cappuccino bum’ because often while I change his nappy, he gentle squirts out this pooey foam lol.
Caro – wow, close call with Michael nearly peeing into his mouth! I keep waiting for something like that to happen, but I’ve been lucky so far. I probably shouldn’t have said that though … it’s tempting fate isn’t it ;)
Deb – here’s hoping you get a few minutes to yourself one of these days. It must be non-stop with 2 little boys.
Well, I had an absolutely horrible day yesterday. Jambin cried from 8.30am – 6pm, pretty much non-stop, and a few hours of that was full-on screaming. His face was so red from screaming so hard. Nothing I did made any difference – I felt like such a failure and spent most of the day crying with him, which probably made him even worse because he would have picked up how upset I was. Then I texted DH and told him that I had made the biggest mistake of my life having a baby and we had to undo it somehow. Today I feel so horrible for saying that, but I honestly meant it at the time, which makes me feel even worse. I don’t think I am fit to be a mum :(
I am hoping that today is better. He has been asleep from 7am til now (10:30am), and I’m going to visit Shannon (from BB) this morning, just to get out of the house for a while.
-
oh cherie!! I have had the same *thoughts*. Just remember he is a miracle and of course you are supposed to be a mum! And you are doing a great job. He is allowed to cry, and crying IS good for him (apaprently).
I have certainly had days like that before too but it will get better. Yay for him being asleep this morning and enjoy yourself with Shannon. big hugs sweetie!!!
-
Thanks Danni - it's good to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for the hugs too - I need them!
-
Oh Cherie, hugs to you. I know how you feel, but you are doing a great job. It will get easier, little by little (I hope and it has).
We had our ortho appointment today and Olivia has the harness on for 6 weeks initially. She is a little unsettled, but seems to be coping ok. I started to tear up when changin her for the first time coz she cried and cried coz it took me so long to get the nappies (still have to have doubles) on. I feel bad for her but I know it is good for her in the long run. We have to see physio every 2 weeks for adjustment. No baths for the first 6 weeks only sponge, which is going to be terrible coz shes a chucker and spews all over her hair, in her ears... also loves to pee once the nappy is off but we cant get the harness wet... which also means no nappy off time:(
Thanks for listening to me having a winge, am so tired and might go sleep for a bit.
Take Care
Love melissa
-
Cherie, it sounds like yesterday was a complete shocker for you. I've had days like that too (altho not with Matt yet) and have said things to my DH that he must have thought 'omg!'..having kids is certainly a relationship challenge too. But the way I see it, every tough experience you have with them, makes you cherish those pleasant ones even more. There are good times ahead Cherie, there is no doubt about that. Hang in there! And vent here with us anytime ((hugs))
Melissa, you're welcome to whinge! What a nuisance having to deal with the brace. Thank god its only for 6 weeks. That time will fly by and it will be so worth it to have done this to help your daughter. You're a great mum!
Matt has his first doctor's appointment today. It is a routine check they do here at 5 weeks.
Then we're off to visit the in-laws for the weekend. Back on sunday. (waves)
-
Cherie, I know exactly how you feel, as I have had it with luke and it's more at night where I have trouble settling him and all Mark does is sleep through it. So I sit in the living room bouncing luke up and down on my lap while tears are flowing out my eyes and I wonder if it was the right thing to do.
Well I was going to do personals but my eyes can barely stay open...sorry guys I promise I will get to do them one day in the near future lol
Well the clinic appt went well as we established that luke had oral thrush and I have nipple thrush so on the gel and drops to clear up. The nurse was so helpful with all my queries, i actually felt comfortable with her which is strange for me as normally it takes me a while. Back there on Monday to see the LC to check that breastfeeding is going better and my nipples are clearing up.
-
good to hear from you Iona
big breakthrough here! Mason just fed WITHOUT a nipple shield from both breasts for around 30 minutes. This is huge for us :D
-
Thanks Caro, im so pleased that now I may not need the day stay booked for 2 weeks time!
And another bonus is he fed for that 40 minutes AFTER I had fully expressed from both breasts...and i still had more milk! :D
-
Ive already been to one day stay when he wouldnt latch at all--- and they gave me the shield to use as my nipples were too swollen. I wanted to go back to wean him off the shield.
I expressed cos he wasnt supposed to feed yet! he had a full bottle only an hour ago so thats why I expressed ready for tonight, and then he was crying so I thought I would try and VOILA!
-
Hi!
Busy day here...took the kids to a play centre and then did some shopping. I was a bit nervous and it was a bit of an ordeal getting out of the house but Dylan did really really well. Actually went 4 hours between feeds while we were out! (Then cried on the way home...!) It's made me not scared about taking the two of them out now though!
I went to toys r us and bought some toys which was fun! Thats one good thing about having kids close in age is that if I buy some more baby toys for Dylan Louis still has lots of fun playing with them!
I had a bit of a meltdown last night with some tears. The sleep deprivation is really catching up with me. I'm making it my mission tomorrow to get my pump out and express so that dh can do a 10.30pm night feed - then maybe I can get a good 5 ish hour sleep hopefully!!!
Deb - Bugger about a bad nights sleep. I must say I haven't been nearly as careful with diet this time around as I was with Louis...the choccy bikkies are all gone now though so maybe that will make a difference - LOL! Although I still love my coke!
Hope your appt goes well - have a good time at the IL's!!
Danni - Good luck at the baby show!! You'll have to put a picture of him all dressed up on your ticker! Glad you got some sleep as well. The poo's nearly always settle down...I remember over xmas with Louis (about 2 1/2 months old) he went like 8 days without pooing!!! and he wasn't constipated....
Yeah at feeding without a nipple shield!! I notice sometimes I have such a strong let down that Dylan chokes on it (Louis did the same thing) I wonder if he coped better after you expressed as the flow was a lot slower as such...?? Both of mine end up breaking off when I have let down as it's just too much for them to cope with.
Cherie - Big big hugs. That must have been so draining for you. I go mental after I can't get him to sleep for 1/2 an hour!! Don't feel bad - A few times I've told dh I'm going to run away! LOL!! Of course your fit to be a parent!! They really do test us at times though...
Like labour, you end up forgetting this hard part of having babies as well...just as well or we'd never do it again. I always have said that this first few months after having a baby is harder than having the baby!! At least labour you know is only for a small time as such...this drags on for weeks and/or months!
Hope you have a good time getting out of the house! It can do wonders for your sanity! and they always sleep better I reckon and you wonder why they can't do that for you at home so you can rest!! hehehe.
Melissa - I'm sure the 6 weeks will fly by...sounds like it will be a bit of hard work though!!! Like you said - it's the best thing for her now and at least she won't ever remember it being so little!!!
Iona - Sorry to hear about the thrush - hope it clears up soon! I know the feeling - I'm much more sensitive at night when I'm extra tired. It's then that I end up with the tears as well. Settling has always been the part that frustrates me as well with bubba. I don't mind getting up and doing the feeds and changing bums but when it's all done I just want to go back to sleep and sometimes bubba has other ideas....Just think - only a few months and they'll drop the feed!!!
omg - this has turned into an epic! Dylans due for a feed....better go....
-
Iona and Cherie, BIG hugs to you both! Just remember that we (and our bubs) all have bad days and it's no reflection on your mothering skills at all! Of COURSE you are meant to be mums and you are doing a fantastic job of it too!
Melissa, it must be so hard with Olivia in a brace. Six weeks will fly though and it will be worth it in the long run I'm sure.
Danni, big YAY on the bf with no shields!
Ben got weighed again today and he's put on 200grams since Monday! He's already started fitting into some 000s, which is amazing since he was in 00000s for the first week. I have all these gorgeous 0000 clothes and am trying to get him wearing as many of them as possible before he grows out of them LOL
We went shopping today too - I had to buy pressies for six people - one of the downsides to having a large family LOL. Ben was fantastic and slept until we were almost home, then ate like a little piggy as soon as we were home. He seems to be sleeping almost all day at the moment, but the nurse today said it's just a growth spurt. If only he'd enjoy being asleep at 1am we'd be fine, but that's his favourite play time.
Mum went home today - leaving me refreshed and ready to go back to being up a lot during the night. Thankfully my cold is almost gone, but I couldn't have coped half as well with it without her there.
Mum also bought me a Mother's Day pressie! LOL I got the cutest little 'First Mother's Day' card from her too. I'm so spoiled!
-
thanks for your support. we just woke up from a nap :) she slept ok, just grizzly. joined the hip dysplasia group here for info. hopefully its only 6 weeks...thats the minimum.
olivia is awake so will go.
chat soon
love melissa

WOW, and I thought I'd had a tough day!! Hugs to those of you having such a hard time at the mo, it's hard enough with the normal problems you face with a new bub let alone dealing with extra things. I hope it does get easier for you guys....well everyone really!! :)
Lily has been difficult today, I really shouldn't say how great she is when she has good days, I seem to jinx myself and it's always when DH is at work for 12 hour+ shifts. All she did all day was feed and grizzle, literally. She was attached to me every 1 1/2- 2 hours for at least 40mins each time, usually 1hr, and would only sleep when feeding. Whenever I put her to bed she woke up 10 mins later.
Though one good thing is (like you Danni-congrats!) we managed to feed for a few feeds without the shields!! Wooohoo! Though when she detaches she just pulls off without letting the nipple go so she stretches it and squishes it between her gums and it HURTS!!! I don't know how to stop her doing it...
Thankfully she's finally asleep in her cradle for the first time all day and has been asleep for more than 1 hr at a time. I think I might even go sleep with her soon. She didn't sleep so well last night either and I had the weirdest dream which kept me awake, but which I now can't remember, LOL! So I'm pretty tired, hopefully tonight is better.
Anyway going to go and eat something more than a breaky bar and get out of these spewy clothes and wash my grubby hair!! (I sound like a grot- because at the mo I am!!, hehehe).
Goodluck to all for a great nights' sleep and an easier day tomorrow, BIG hugs to those that need them....
Kellie.
-
Hi!
Disgirl - Yeah on the weight gain!! Yeah, Dylans started in 000 suits now...I really need to do some more shopping! Louis was in 0000 for nearly 7 weeks so I'm surprised that Dylans outgrown them already!!
How nice your mum bought you a mothers day pressie!
Kel - hope you get a good nights sleep in. It's so hard when they want to feed all day long...
Sweet dreams everyone!
-
i am so jealous....Mason still isnt in 0000s :(
O went shopping today for some cute outfits but found NOTHING! The poor thing has to wear an AIO tomorrow :(
-
G'day G'day!
Well finally managed to come on here for longer than 5 mins, hopefully will be able to join in a bit on here!
My little Patrick was born now 2 weeks ago (at 8lbs4), and we're wearing Bonds 000's and 0000's. Target 0000s are OK but Osh Kosh and Pumpkin Patch 000's are all too big for him.
Haven't had much chance to catch up on the babies on here other than this page, my apologies for this, but hopefully soon! Reading this is making me feel lucky - Patrick is sleeping for his 3-4 hours at a stretch between feeds, which I'm hoping will be breast feeds soon - we're going to a lactation clinic tomorrow morning and tonight started on Maxalon to increase milk supply (was only getting about 2 teaspoons out of the 2 breasts) so we'll hopefully be doing "top up" bottle feeds as opposed to supplementing his bottle feeds with a drop or 2 of breast milk...
Anyhows, hope everyone gets good sleeps and quiet babies.

Hi All,
I have been mia for ages now....we spent 10 days up in Sydney showing off Ben and I have only just had the chance to read emails and get onto this site to see how everyone is going.
For those who don't know me, my Dh and I had baby Benjamin on the 7th April.
I am thinking of all of you who are having a bit of a rough time at the moment. Everyone says that things get easier and I am sure they will for everyone. One friend of mine said she was having a good day if she had a shower before midday and a cup of tea during the day!!!
Ben is doing really well. I am almost scared to say that he has already grown out of most of his 000's and we have been putting him in the toddler nappies at night!!!! At the last weigh in on Tuesday he weighed 5.4kg and is 60cm already. It's as if I never had a little baby and he is already growing way too fast!
To make things sound a bit more even, he does have days where he seems to alwyas be on the boob, feeding every 2 hours, but luckily during the day. He has an awake time for about 3 hours in the late moring and wakes every 3 hours (you can set your watch by him) at night. I laughed at the squirty poo stories because Ben does that after almost every feed and I have been the target!!!
Hope to pop in more often now I am home again, but Ben is ready for a feed now so must run. Big hugs to all of you that need them........and fingers crossed that everyone has a fantastic day (and more importantly night) today.
-
Hi!
We had an ok night! I find that whenever I'm at the end of my tether we end up with a pretty good night. He went 4 1/2 hours from just after 9pm so I got my first 3 1/2 hour sleep since his arrival! woohoo. He was relatively easy to settle after that but he's such a little grunty sleeper - I so can't handle having him in our room! But we have no choice as we're in a 2 br unit...Anyway - managed to get both the boys to stay asleep until 8am so thats ok!
Yep - Dylans 3 weeks today and all his 0000 outfits will be washed and packed away over the weekend (for the next one??! LOL!)
Danni - I'm sure he'll look gorgeous in whatever you put him in!!
Caro - I know! The kids always grow out of Bonds first!
Kaz - Great that your in here! So glad that Patricks going along so well! Thats great! Good luck with the bf!
Sarah - Glad your well - I say I've had a good day if I get a nap in!! LOl! Wow at having such a big boy! I'm very excited to see what Dylan weighs at his 4w check up next Fri - he's such a greedy guts and just seems to be growing sooo fast! He's got the biggest double chin! LOL!
Must jump in the shower...chat later!
-
yay we had a good night too! I am shovelling weet bix down my throat, about to give him a bottle and run out the door!
-

Hi All,
We had a seemingly crappy night. Olivia was so grizzly that she ended up sleeping with us... on my tummy first then close to me. I couldnt sleep properly coz I was so uncomfy and at her 4am feed she wouldnt settle so I was awake for over an hour. Then she woke up at 6am for another feed and was crying, then I started to cry coz I was so tired. Adam got out of bed to feed her (hes been sick so has been sleeping). I got a good hour sleep then:) And when Adam went to work I got an hour on and off.
Olivia is a little happier today, and looks a little more comfy in the harnes, but coz the straps are new its all rigid...shes rigid too! Also shes not comfy in her bouncer at the minute.
Am coming down with Adams cold:( Never mind.
We are still in 0000 jump suits but might have to go up sooner than we would due to the harness. I have lots of nice clothes in 000.
Well, am still looking at prams, so am going to jump on ebay.
Take care all and rest up.
Love Melissa
-
mason got 3 trophies and 2 sashes at the baby show! im so proud!
We are out for dinner at a fancy restaurant in the city for mothers day tonight. Im trying to find somethin nice to wear. I cant wait to wear heels for the first time in 9 months :D
-
of course Mason is coming with us! He is gunna be so jealous about the king prawns ;)
I took some photos of him in the pram, but will take some pics when he wakes up with his trophies and sashes and probably upload them tomorrow.
Ok I am dressed and ready...and Mason and Dh are asleep on the couch! And I cant find his hat :(
-
Hi girls. I've had an up and down day. I have a sinus infection I think, and was up all night with that. Ben was fine - he slept through all mummy's sleeplessness!
Melissa, I'll keep my fingers crossed that Olivia (love the name by the way) is only in the harness for six weeks. Let's hope you both get use to the harness quick and have a better night tonight.
Kel, we'll just know that if you don't say you had a bad night that you had a good one LOL We don't want you jinxing yourself!
Kris, yay on the good nights' sleep! Sounds like Dylan is even more of a guts than Ben! We're only just in the 000s and some are massive on him while some 0000s still fit him. Don't you wish all brands were the same size?
Danni, Mason will be in 0000s before you know it I bet. Sounds like his wardrobe issues didn't affect his cuteness though. Congrats on the trophys!
Caro, the sizings are SO annoying aren't they? They should have standards across the boards to make it easier for us poor mums!
Sarah, it's nice to 'meet' you! Good name you chose for your boy ;) Ours is just plain old Ben rather than Benjamin. Wow on his growth!!!! I'm already telling Ben that he's not to grow anymore, I just love him at his little snuggly age/size right now.
Kaz, it's good to see you here. How'd you go at the lactation clinic?
Ben gave me his first real smiles this morning. I don't care what all the books and stuff say, it was definitely real. Totally different to his wind smiles. I was singing to him, holding him in front of my face and he looked directly at me for a few seconds and then broke into a half grin, followed by a full smile. Me, being delirious from lack of sleep and being so sick, burst into tears. We must have been some sight - me sitting there singing Disney songs, red eyes, stuffy nose, terrible croaky voice, tears streaming down my face and Ben looking back at me with a gorgeous grin on his face! LOL I'm getting teary again just thinking about it!!!!
Have a good, restfull night all!

Hi all,
Well we went to parramatta today to get a mothers day pressie for mum and a few other things. It went pretty well. Lily slept for and hour or so then had a formula bottle after a bit of convincing and screaming. I think I will try to continue to give her a bottle once or twice a week, so that it is easier to wean (presuming she goes onto a bottle one day...)her or to leave her if we go out. It took DH a bit to get her to take it where before she'd take it no problems. She's such a booby baby now!!
I just read an article about thrush and think we may have it does anyone know the symptoms? I only read about getting shooting pains in the breast on attachment and from her sucking and afterwards, which I get. But they might be normal? Lily has a white tongue all the time ehich I thought could be normal too from my milk? But then it could be thrush...
Lily is growing out of her 0000 clothes too, they just fit her. We had to buy some new 000 suits and singlets today. I got some bonds stuff from Toys r us on sale- two pairs of long pants for $5 each and little jeans for $10!! I love a bargain.
Kaz- Hi!! And welcome. I had trouble with BF too due to being quite sick after having Lily. I had to take tablets too to increase my supply, though not maxalon- can't think of the name of them now!! It worked really well for me and I was fully BFing her within about 4 days of taking the tablets!! I had to express alot in the begining and feed her as much as possible to get the milk going. Which I think has made her such a piggy now. She feeds every 1 1/2- 2 hrs sometimes. I also got really sore and engorged boobs after about 5 days or so and had to feed her alot to help with that too, but I was happy I could feed her. We also used breast shields because I had really blistered nipples. Everything is good now and we're on track, I still use the shields some of the time though. Good luck at the clinic.
Melissa, sorry your sick and sorry Olivia's having a hard time with her new harness. Hopefully she gets a bit used to it soon. It must be hard with a grumpy bub and not feeling 100%. I know I get moody and sooky when I don't sleep well let alone if I were sick too.
Danni, congrats on Ben's awards! I can't believe you went out for dinner....I was proud of myself that we got out to Parramatta westfields let alone to go to dinner and get dressed up- besides the fact that none of my clothes would fit very well (mind you I have only put on two kg's which I am very proud of LOL!).
Disgirl, it's so good when you get those smiles isn't it. We're getting real smiles now too and I get so excited when she smiles at me! :) . Sorry that you don't feel well either. I hope you feel better soon, can you take anything for it? Sinus pain is the worst!
Well I'm going for a shower before my little piggy princess wakes up for more food!
I hope we all sleep well! Sweet dreams...

Hi!
Hmmm didn't get my shower until nearly lunchtime LOL! Dylan's been quite unsettled today...Dh is so much better at settling him than I am sometimes! I had some mums from mothers group come over which was great - Louis had a ball playing!
Otherwise not much else...Dylan seems to be staying on 7 feeds a day at the moment (but who knows when that will change!) and is mostly going 3 - 3 1/2 hours between feeds now rather than about 1/2 of them being 2 hourly. Woohoo!
Melissa - Sorry you had such a bad night...it must be so hard - for both of you - getting used to the harness! Hope you get a better night tonight...I hope the cold doesn't hit you too hard - thats the last thing you need!
Danni - Congrats to Mason!!! Wow! Hope you have a great night out tonight!
Disgirl - Bugger about your sinus infection - hope you get better soon...Yeah on the smiles!!! Thats fantastic!
I've been getting an amused face but not quite a smile yet...I didn't get one from Louis until 5 weeks but I think Dylan will be a little earlier...
Kellie - I'm not sure about the thrush but I think they're meant to have dots in their mouth...Dylan has a white tongue as well and I'm pretty sure thats just from all the milk! I think bubs is meant to be really fussy as well cos it hurts them...
OK - I'm off to get ready for bed..I'm wrecked and probably won't get a chance to nap all weekend...although I'm hopefully getting a sleep in on Sunday for mothers day!!

Hi!
Omg - Dylan had a great night! He went nearly 5 hours from 6-11 and then 3 1/2 hours and then 4 1/2 hours and nhe's back asleep now! Woohooo. I think he's definitely got the hang of "nighttime" I can handle him being unsettled through the day if he sleeps so well at nighttime! A difference also is that I spent an hour cuddling him upright (well I fell asleep) before putting him down each time and I think it just helped his tummy to settle a bit iykwim.
HOpe you all had a great night also!

yay on the great night Kris!
We got home at midnight which I was so worried about, and the little prince just slept! He woke up 4 hourly for his feeds but went straight back down again :D
Dinner was great and he was so well behaved and I even breastfed him in public! I went to the corner and they had beautifu couches, and he latched perfectly first go! We sat and fed for 30 minutes, I was so proud!
Last night was the first time I have felt good about myself. And now that I can breast feed him properly, I cant stop smiling :)
