wow caro is that true about the heartbeats?
re: weight - if that is true my little iglet has put on another 500g in one week. no wonder my arms (and boobs) are sore.
Was at the shops today and there were mums and babies everywhere. and he was no longer the smallest. its good but its also a bit sad.

Kristie, Happy birthday for yesterday. I hope you had a lovely day and got spoilt rotten from Dylan and DH

Hi everyone!
Iona, I've had lots of problems with Nicholas falling asleep at the breast cos he was prem, he just starting to get better now. The only thing that really works, that they showed us in the SCN, is to undress him down to his nappy. I now leave his singlet on too, and socks during the night feeds. Stroking underneath his chin usually helps him to get sucking again too. HTHs!

Hi everyone,
Well another good day for us, YAY!
Lily seems to have gotten into some sort of routine already....I thought it'd take us at least a week or so to do. She now wakes at about 7ish, has a small feed, has a bath and a play in the sun, sleeps from about 8-9:30ish has a big feed a bit of a play, sleeps 10:30-12:30 ish another feed small play, sleeps 2-4ish, a feed, small sleep 6-7ish, feed at about 8:30 sleeps 9-12:30, feed, sleeps til 4:30, feed, sleeps til 7 and thats been our days for the past three days or so. I can't believe that she's gone from screaming all day to not sleeping all day to this! She's such a different baby, I'm so happy that she's settled and happy now. She actually plays and smiles now. I can leave her in the bouncer and she's happy. What a difference and a relief!
Sezjm, sorry to hear of your difficulties with bf. Seems that more people find it difficult and tiring than find it easy and natural. I've had a hard time too and I'm sad to say that it all became too hard for me and I gave up. We are down to maybe three feeds (supplemented) a day now. I hope things get easier for you. What a hassle having to undress him for every feed. If I had to do that I'd have a screaming and wrestling match with Lily every time. She hates being dressed and undressed. She goes stiff and screams and makes things so much more difficult!
Hope you are all having a happy day.

Hi All,
Just a quick one from me coz I want to go to sleep:) Happy birthday Kristie for yesterday, hope you had a great day.
Olivia is getting better after a second trip to the gp coz she started to have diarrhea (sp?). At least now shes taking about 80mls per bottle, instead of 20-40mls and has been awake and smiling a bit. The only bad thing is now Adam has been spening time in the toilet (both ends) and looking green and I just feel queezy and very tired and a bit light headed. We are in isolation... I have no desire to give this to anyone AT ALL.
So I hope you are all ok, we will be back on track soon.
Take care
Love Melissa

Hi!
I'm having a much better day...tried infacol this morning and Dylans slept really well! I forgot to give it to him this last feed but he's sleeping well anyway! Woohoo! Hopefully we can keep this up!
I expressed this morning - just one side and in 5 min I had 110ml! OMG! Since then my boobs have been heaps more settled and he seems to have fed better - and off both of them! So hopefully that will help as well! (Also handy to have a bottle of milk in the freezer for emergencies!)
Iona - Thanks!! Hmm wasn't really spoilt - in fact dh forgot to even get me a card...I'll spend the rest of the week making him pay for that! LOl! I was very upset at the time though....
Kellie - Wow - thats fantastic!!! Just remember that it can change at the drop of a hat though! I remember getting into really good routines with Louis and then he'd go through a growth spurt or something and it would all change! Make the most of it while it lasts though!!
Melissa - Oh you poor bugger...I hope your all feeling 100% better soon!
Well, it's our anniversary today! We've been married 4 years and together for 9! (Crazy when I'm only 26! LOL!) We're heading out tomorrow night for a dinner out just the two of us - Mums going to babysit - which I think will be much needed!
Have some cleaning up to do - I had 3 friends over today (from the forum!) and the kids certainly made a mess!
-
LOL Kellie, Nicholas hates being fussed with too, he almost always cries on the change table! Anyone would think I'm torturing him (I promise I'm not!). But the times I haven't bothered to undress him (usually in the night ;)) he hasn't fed nearly as well, so it's definitely worth the extra time etc.
There he goes again.......my little man just won't settle properly today
-
Thanks for the advice sezjm, I'll try that next feed
-
Evening all,
Kristie - wow, a birthday and an anniversary! hope DH makes up for that lack of card....lol - good on you for making him pay for it! I would do the same thing. I must start trying the smaller feed in the night and not fussing too much with the asleep/awake thing. she is feeding much better and more efficiently again today so will see how we go tonight. have a great night tomorrow night and enjoy a night out!
Kel - yay on Lil's routine and being settled - that's great. milk it while it lasts.....but it sounds like you might have a good little one there! hope mine turns out the same as she keeps growing. can't believe she's 2.5 weeks old already!
Mel - hope it's not gastro that's got you all - it's sooooo horrible. feel better anyway.
Caro - I reckon that the drops in the bath have really helped already with Mimi's skin! she looked much less peely this morning so will keep it up.
Me - pretty good day. put ella into occasional care this morning for a break - think I will do it each week if I can so I can get some extra rest and quiet time with Mimi. The toddlers just get so demanding! She has also been snuffly the last 36 hours. Have got a lot of gunk out with the aspirator - poor little thing, so hard for them to feed when they can't breathe through their noses properly. anyway, apart from that she's doing really well. the girls in my mother's group from ella gave me a facial treatment as a birth present and I am booked in for Saturday morning. hopefully it doesn't time in with feeds, as the let downs have really hit now so I will be trying Mimi on some EBM bottle later to get her used to it just in case DH has to feed her while I am being pampered. We are off to noosa for 2 weeks in the middle of june and I just can't wait. will be lovely to get away.
hope you all have a great night. catch up soon.

Top of the Mornin' to you ladies!
Firstly, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY to you Kristie! Hope you had a wonderful evening out. It was also my Grandparent's anniversary yesterday, they've been married for 53 years!
Gigi- hope you enjoy your facial, bliss! Am thinking about getting a pedicure myself, but I can cuddle Hazel while they do it and even feed her if needs be so not sure exactly HOW relaxing that will be! Hazel has also had dry flaky skin and I've been using QV oil in her bath and also to massage her with some days and it's really doing the trick, basically the same as baby oil I think. I guess it's just the top layer of skin flaking off after all those months floating around in amniotic fluid!
Caro- think the oats are doing the trick. Managed to express 90mls this morning and have been experiencing serious let down. Also not a green poo to be seen for days now! Luckily I love porridge so it's no hardship to have a bowl each morning, especially now it's cooling down, plus they're so good for you anyway!
Melissa- I'm so sorry you're all poorly. It must be a nightmare being sick and having a sick bubba (and DH) too! I expect we'll all experience it at some time though unfortunately. Take it easy and hope you're feeling better soon.
Kelliem- Sounds like things are really working out well for you! Yay on a routine and having a happy little bunny!
Well, we seem to have worked out a bit of a routine here too, albeit by accident! Basically Hazel will NOT go down to sleep on her own through the day, it's the same thing as some of you guys ahve described, sound asleep then *bing* the eyes pop open as soon as she goes in her cot. So I basically 'wear' her most of the day in her sling and she's happy as a pig in mud! At 7pm though, she will go to sleep in her cot til 10pm, feed, sleep til 1.30 am, feed, sleep til 5am, feed, sleep til 8.30am, then it's day light and it's either full mummy's attention or in the sling. It actually works pretty well for us as DH gets up at 5.30 for work so I get a cuppa in bed and get to chat to him before he leaves. I've decided to stay up too instead of dozing off again, as I can have a shower and a peaceful brekkie and a semblence of a beauty routine before the gorgeous one wakes up, then have a kip with her after lunch. And, it seems, post with personals on BB!!
Hope you all have a smashing day!

christy: dont you sound on top of the world! good on ya darl :)
Mason slept well last night luckily and is now in his basinette in the lounge room talking to himself! I cant believe he isnt screaming! *touch wood*
-
Hi!
Well, we put Dylan in the lounge room last night and I got 2 lots of solid sleep! Yeah!! I just cannot sleep with him in our room! He also seems a lot more settled at the moment which is helpful as well!
Dh came home with 2 bunches of flowers for me yesterday! LOL! So he should have! hehe. We're out for dinner tonight as well which will be nice...
Gigi - Sounds nice to have the break with ella in care. Louis has been pretty good and I've coped really well with having him at home - other than feeling guilty for not spending as much time with him as I should! He occupies himself really well though.
Oooh a facial will be very nice!
Wow at heading off to Noosa soon - I'm very jealous!
Christy - Wow what a great routine! Just make sure you get enough sleep if your going to get up so early!!
Danni - Glad you got some sleep last night!!! It will get easier I promise!
Caro - Hi! Hope Michaels going well! (and you of course!)
-
Hi everyone,
Caro - I think I will use it every other day too - as it really seems to work!
Christy - boy, you sound like you are having a great time! That's really good. Glad to hear that you are sorting the whole routiney thing out....Love the idea of a cuppa in bed....pedicure - one of my favourite things. there's a place around the corner from me that does the full spa pedicure for $40 and it's sheer bliss! Big comfy chair with spa pool for feet, then the file, shape and polish.....I could easily feed and cuddle Mimi in that! You have given me a good idea!
Danni - glad you got some rest. sounds like Mason enjoys talking to himself too!
Kristie - enjoy dinner tonight. Yes, I have booked Ella in for next Thursday morning too. I think it's also good for her and it just adds an "outing" to my week for her to keep her busy. she's just non-stop at home and it can get a bit tiring at times! she's very good though and lots of fun. Can't wait for Noosa. Am organising a few things online for the trip today. The countdown is on....

Ok so i took mason down the street and he slept the WHOLE time!! I seriously need to park myself at the shopping centre 24/7 ;)
I am gunna try a sleeping bag instead of wrapping tonight.

Hi!
We had our anniversary dinner out last night and it was soooo nice! The food was great and I had a yummy glass of wine (that went straight to my head!) Dylan had his first bottle of ebm and had it no worries which is great as well!
I'm having family around tonight for a b'day celebration - we're having pizzas and cheesecake shop cake! Yum! I even bought paper plates & plastic cups so I don't have to do dishes.
Had a massage this morning as well which was beautiful.
Dylans going really well - heaps better than last week which I can only contribute to the Infacol so It's a winner for us!
How easy's this?? He fed at 7.30 (ebm) then 1am then 6am! Can't complain with that! (although we had Louis up with croup so still didn't get any sleep -grrr)
Anyway - all is well!
Gigi - the great thing is time is flying at the moment so it will be a blink of an eye before you're on your holiday!!
Danni - LOL! Dylan seems to do well when we're out as well!!
Hope your all enjoying your weekends! chat later!
-
you sound so great kristie! cant wait to catch up on thursday. Hopefully we all have an easy night on Wednesday :)

Hi All,
Hope you are well. Just a quick question for those who are using stuff for wind. Olivia gets cranky when she farts alot...and boy does she do alot of that:) She hates gripe water (and i know some peoples opinion about it). She will take stuff like panadol and demizin with no problem (same tastes). Do infacol or the other ones taste similar to gripe water or are they more flavoursome?????(like panadol-berry flavour)
Cheers
Melissa

the brauer colic relief smells like cherries and Mason loves the flavour. HTH
