i must start writing down Masons feeds now that he is sleeping well at night cos I actually dont know! Im guessing it is 6.
BUT, he has started cluster feeding when he first wakes up, and just before bed. I guess thats his way of making up for the long sleeps he does at night cos he will not sleep during the day.
EXCEPT today he slept for 3 hours in the HAB and that meant he went 6 hours between feeds. I couldnt believe it! he has been feeding like crazy since he woke up though.
We go out every day as Mason is always better behaved when he is not at home. So we dont have much home time. When we do we do the bouncer, play gym and general cuddles.
He has a bath every 2nd night before his last feed and Dh did this bathing until last night and we transferred to the big bath. So now I jump in the bath with Mason and we play together. SO bath time has turned from 5 mins into about 20 now :)
Ok this is a long post....good night all!

Hi all,
We have had a pretty good day. I picked up my prescription for motilium today and have been feeding Lil at every opportunity! I still don't have much milk so most of the time shes just sucking for comfort. She still takes a whole bottle so unless shes just a big pib, shes not getting much milk from me yet (fingers crossed she will be getting more soon...). Though when she has a bf she gets unsettled for a while afterwards, screaming for about half an hour or so, climbing up my tummy, rubbing her nose into my shoulder like its driving her crazy, and just generally unhappy, I still think its reflux!
Kristie I have noticed that there is more summer stuff on the shelves!! It's barely even winter... Lil's still in 000 (just!) but I have begun to stock on 00 clothes might even get a few 0 too since she's growing like there's no tomorrow!
Sorry to hesr Dylans been so unsettled, I nope he;s calmer for you now.
Christy, I agree with the useless gp's. I only really go to this one because she's who I've been going to since I was little. But now that I actually have some issues other than the odd cold, it would be better to have someone who I choose I suppose.
I have been having oats for breaky too, as well as a hot mug of aktivite, I don't know if it's working, but it's a yummy breaky in this chilly weather!
Kaz, well...during the day I usually feedand play with Lil then spend forever trying to put her to sleep. She will play by herself for about 20mins or so occaisionally, which is getting longer, which is when I try to eat clean and do things for myself. I often don't get out of my pj's until after lunch if I'm not going anywhere, but if I'm going out I just get dressed when I need to whether shes crying or not. When we're home, we have kind of set times to do things, or a loose order to the day anyway- wake in the morning, feed, naked time, bath, massage, bed (the only sleep I can almost guarentee (sp).) Feed, tummy time, cuddles, bouncer time, cuddles, play, feed, try to sleep, cuddles...try to sleep etc... she will also play in her cot, talking to her mobile for ages, as long as I keep on winding it for the music! I bath her every day because she gets quite sweaty and smelly by the end of the day! I make sure I take time to eat. In the first few weeks I was hardly eating anything and I was feeling faint and sick due to my blood loss after birth, so I make sure I eat. I find if I make a sandwich while Lily is asleep at night then at least I have that for the following day. I also make sure I have fruit, vege sticks, dips like hummos/salsa, yoghurt and muesli bars/ breaky bars in the house if there's no time for me to actually make something. Especially when DH is on night shift and I will be home alone all day/night (he's asleep most of the day). We usually go through two jumpsuits a day, and a thousand bibs! I go through about 3-4 tops a day! I always wait until DH is home until I have a shower because it's impossible to hear Lily while I'm in the shower, and it is the time I take for me. I love this time to do things for me- shave, moisturiser, relax in general.
Ok, DH is calling, must go save him from Lily....
Kellie.

forgot to mention that Mason is still very much in 0000s and is over 11pounds 6oz! He wont be in 000 for ages.... :(
I guess in a way its been good, and he has had a lot of wear in these cute 0000 clothes for 9 weeks now!
-
I'm managing to get dressed most days (hehe) but showering is another matter, that can wait.
What is "playtime" for everyone? I cuddle him, sing and talk, read to him (he loves the RACV magazine). Then he's under his playgym for a while - he's starting to notice himself in the mirror, which is really cute. And he loves watching the outside world. Oh, and will be quiet and watch the teev when we're watching Dr Who too (??)
I try to give him rattles and stuff, he likes 2 of them, and is grasping them. Not too sure what to do with the teddy bears and stuff, how do I interact them with him?
thanks (from a clueless kaz)

Hi!
A great night for me! He fed at 7pm then went until 2.15 and then woke at 6 but I brought him into bed with me and fed him at 7.20am! Yeah!
Kaz - Sounds like your doing everything perfectly. You are really limited when bubba is little small...trust me you'll find new things to do as they get older! Thats great he holds onto a rattle - I haven't really tried with Dylan yet but I don't think he can hold on yet...It's funny because one day they won't be able to do something and the next they just can! Very clever little bubbas!
Danni - Wow I'm surprised Mason is still in 0000! Obviously it's his length keeping him in 0000's as his weight is definitely right for 000. 0000 is meant to be for 56cm and 4kg...
Kel - Thats great your bf so much! Hopefully your milk picks up soon! Sounds like you've got a good routine happening!
Better put cheeky back to sleep! Have a good day everyone! Rained heaps hear overnight but seems to be sunny this morning (although I'm sure it's freezing!)

Well, the harness stays on for another 6 to 12 weeks:( But at least it can come off for 20mins a day, so that means bath time, yay. We got to have her out of the harness while we waited for the specialist and physio and I cant believe how long she is. Her 000 bonds suit fits her nicely, but we will now have to look at going up soon due to the harness. Oh well.
As for bringing teddies/dolls into play, I just get them and make out they are talking to her, she smiles at them and touches them. I also just sit them next to her.
Have a great day all
Love Melissa

Hi!
Melissa - bugger! Thats great it can come off for 20min though!!!
Dylan seems more settled today...has woken heaps but I've mananged to get him back to sleep. It's all just wind..poor little munchkin - I can't wait until his little stomach starts coping a bit better.
I'm getting a cold...grrrr...just made a big pot of chicken noodle soup (for dh) and minestrone (for me and Louis). Louis seems to be be getting it as well. I hate that we can't take cold and flu when bfing...Have to wait for dh to get home with some panadol.
Off for Dylans immunisations soon....Definitely not what we need with a house full of sick people...
-
Melissa - Its a bugger you've still got some weeks ahead with the harness. Thank goodness its winter and she won't be getting too warm and uncomfortable in it. Great she can get into the bath though, she is sure to love that.
Kristie - I agree it will be so nice to see the kids start interacting together. It is very much a one way thing at the moment, and Al really isn't that interested in Matt yet. Is Dylan good with Louis eg does he try and poke his eyes out? there is a toddler in our mothers group that went after all of the babies lol
gotta run xx
-
Hi girls,
Wow on some of the babies that are sleeping so well. We are up at least once and often twice. Once he has fed though he is straight back to bed. But I'm not too worried. In the scheme of things its such a small part of their whole life. Last night he had a big sleep but it started at 5:30 so we were up at our usual 2:30am. It was the nicest feed though. My bbs were sooo full and he just fed while looking at my face. I love it when he does that! As if he is just checking I am still there. :)
During the day we do a few things but not the same things each day. Iggy has a cot mobile that he loves (but it is a wind up one), and an activity centre as well that he plays with. We do tummy time and sometimes baby massage, go for a walk with the dog, go outside and look at the trees if it isnt too cold and windy. We try and practice with the sling (I still cant get it right!) and get him to sit u on our lap. Listen to music, Read to him etc. Not all in one day but we try and do some different things each day.
Am thinking of going to mum/baby yoga next week and mayeb also a babes in arms session at the movies.
Anyone got any interesting plans for the weekend?
-
sorry melissa about the harness :(
Im so jealous! Mason cannot grasp anything and often wont "play" with his toys either
im sick too!! its really struck me down and i feel awful!
today we have the champions of the baby show day that they invuted mason too. its been 8 weeks since the baby show and they wont even recognise him lol
yesterday went to toys r us and bought all xmas presents! so glad thars all done :D

Well someone stole my baby last night and gave me a crying, non sleeping clingon and it continues..She ate constantly from 430 yesterday arvo, so i though i would have a great sleep, but she lept from 1130pm til 2am, then wouldn go back to slepp despite all attempts to resettle. Finally we popped her in our bed and she was asleep by 430, then awake again at 6am, then woke up at 8am. I have had to hold her most of the morning coz everytime I put her down, she cries. I try resettling, but to no avail. She has given me 10 minutes to take the washing off and write this post, but is stirring now:( I was reading that wonder weeks book and she is due to go through the 12 week storm, great. I was so excited to be able to sleep for the past five days, lets hope this doesnt last too long!
Hey Danni, hope you get better soon.
Hi everyone... got to run, washing to do and clingon to attend to:)
Love Melissa

Hi!
I have an unhappy boy today from his immunisations...after shopping today he decided to vomit everywhere as well...poor little munchkin. Not sure if it's from his needles or something else now. He hasn't done that for ages and it was nearly 2 hours after his feed. Yuck. He's sleeping now but I'm sure he's going to wake up super hungry!
Deb - Dylan has just started getting a bit rougher I think because he wants to play. Pokes his eye and takes his dummy out because he wants him to "wake up jeff" hehehe.
Krys - It is gorgeous when they watch you while they're feeding!! They rely on us for everything and are so trusting..it's gorgeous!
Ooh I went to mum and bubs movies a few times with Louis - it was great. If you're going to do it I suggest you do before they can crawl otherwise you can't sit and enjoy it...
For us this weekend we have SIL's b'day dinner Sat night out at a restaurant (hope the kids are good!) and a baby shower on Sunday. Otherwise I don't plan on doing much - just resting and getting over this cold! We're getting foxtel installed - right now actually - so we'll be vegging in front of the tv!
Danni - Hope you go well today! LOL at buying xmas presents already. I'm waiting for the kmart sale - it starts July 5th. I also buy all of Louis' b'day presents then as well usually...
Melissa - Big hugs...Oh no...we'll probably all have a bubba like that in a few weeks!! hehe. It's so hard when they're like that. At least you'll be able to tell us how good it is after this stage...
-
Melissa - bad news on both the "12 weeks storm" and the harness - but taking it off for a little each day is good. And hopefully you'll lose your "clingon" soon!
Kris - Hope you feel better soon
Danni - Wow on super-organised for Xmas!
Krys - that baby yoga sounds fun, I've been thinking about babes in arms movies too. But the next movie is Shrek the 3rd - not in Vic though. Meh. Patrick also watches me when I'm giving him his bottle, he's just gorgeous. Makes me forget that this is the first time he's been quiet all day when he gives me those eyes.
Anyhows, my "me" time is over, back downstairs to rescue him from his dad :D And maybe have a glass of alcohol-free wine :D

Evening All. Just a quick Hi before bed. All ok here, had a seven hour stretch of sleep last night so I've been bouncing off the walls today. Really enjoyed the Bubacise class on Wednesday and met some lovely ladies who have an unofficial mum's group who often go out for lunch after the class, so it was worthwhile going on two counts. Hazel was the littlest one there and it was so funny watching all the bubs crawling around being cheeky as we did the class!
Melissa- that's bad news about the harness, but I agree with the others that at least you both can enjoy bathtime, small favours. I hope Olivia is feeling more settled soon, does the wonder week book say how long these phases are meant to last? (or am I being daft and it's a week- as the name would suggest?)
Kris- Hope Dylan is feeling better soon poor little chap
Danni- wow on christmas shopping! It's a very good idea though and I may have to start picking stuff up when it's on sale. Hope you're feeling better soon
Krysalyss- I completely know what you mean about them gazing at you during feeding time, it just melts me. They are becomming so much more aware of the world around them now. Baby Yoga sounds great, they used to do it at my new gym but sadly no longer
Sunbeam Koala- you must be getting so excited about your trip. I remember what it was like coming back here for visits from the Uk, but it must be wonderful to be bringing home a new family member!
Kaz- IKWYM re showers, though I do manage it most days. On the days I miss out I just think of the water I've saved and one day real soon I think I'll have accumulated enough to have a nice deep, piping hot bath! About our day- in the morning I try to get up before Hazel wakes up to get the dogs their brekkie and give them a bit of fussing and have a hot cup of tea but this isn't always possible! We do some nappy free and tummy time and I chat and sing to her. She'll spend some time in her cot chatting to her Pooh mobile while I try to get some stuff done and then it's normally time for a feed and sleep about 10am. I usually go out sometime after that either for a walk or in the car. Hazel loves being in her sling when we're out, either sleeping or wayching the world go by. When I make dinner she goes on the kitchen bench (safely of course) in her rocker and I put a cd on and sing and boogy away, she adores this! I've got a baby gym coming soon which I think she'll enjoy too andI want to get a few more musical toys as she seems to love them. It's easy to feel worried that you're not giving them enough "stimulation", I know I do, but I also figure that just talking to them and giving them lots of face time is probably good enough!
Well, that was longer than I intended for it to be and I really must go to bed now or I will br cream crackered tomorrow. Have an awesome weekend, one and all x
-
mason did well again at the baby show until he fell asleep! lol On trophy and 3 sashes. Im so proud :D It was such a long day as there were so many people so I dont think I will go again. Breastfeeding in those uncomfy chairs was awful!
Yep every year I used to do the kmart sale and layby til xmas for all the xmas presents for our neices and nephews but I got excited at toys r us instead! So i just bought them and have stashed them in the study. I also managed to get some bday pressies in there too so I really dont have anything to worry about until January! Its such a relief and money saver!
Am looking forward to hopefully having the energy to clean the house today while DH is home, and making a big fat lasagna for dinner. Tomorrow we have the professional photos,,,I cant wait!
Have a great day everyone xx
-
Hi!
Kaz - hope you enjoyed your wine!
Christy - Glad you enjoyed the class and the catch up afterwards!
Danni - Congrats on Mason doing so well...would be hard with it being such a long day with such a little bubba...
Sometimes I find when I layby/buy pressies early I end up buying way more than I should because as xmas approaches you see other toys/specials. hehehe. so I don't really save much anyway...
Enjoy your weekend and have fun with your photos...I'll see you and Mason on Thursday at Cindy's??
Well, Dylans now holding a rattle...hehe. I hadn't really tried it so the last couple of awake times I did and he's holding it for a little bit now. It's just a thin plastic one so it's easy for his little fingers to get around...he slept quite well last night which was good. He was so exhausted that he only fed one side in the middle of the night and no matter what I did could not wake him enough to take the second side...hehe...
Chat later...
-
Hi All,
Olivia slept a little better last night, at least she didnt stay awake too long between feeds and didnt cry much. She woke up very chatty this morning which was very cute.
Christy- i think the stormy period lasts anywher from a day to a week...depending on the bub. there are more changes earlier on, obviously, and the time between changes spread out as they get older. i am going to copy the chart before i take it back to thelibrary. can scan it and email it if u like.
Danni well done on the baby show and hope dinner was good.
kristie-glad u got some good sleep
got to cut this short, moo moo is calling
have a great day
melissa

Hi!
Ooh Melissa can you email me with the chart??? mkvisser at bigpond dot net dot au !!! I've been dying to have a look at it...
Glad Olivia slept ok...
Dylans been pretty good this morning. It's so cute - he fed at 6.30am this morning and I put him back down because I didn't want to get up yet and he just chats and laughs away for a while and he must eventually go to sleep because I didn't hear from him for another hour! lOL!
