hey kristie: welcome back :)
Mason is in bed by 9:30 at the latest! Last night was the latest  Lol
Anywhere from 7-9:30. As soon as he is showing tired signs, we put him down. Although...he went down at 6:30 tonight. So I might have to wake him for a small feed around 9, then put him back down.
Mason has not found his hands at all! He has never sucked his hand or thumb and all the babies at mothers group do :( Should I be worried? He is very interested in all his toys but will never reach out to one or grab it.
-
Thanks guys...Dylans been really hard to get to sleep but I think thats cos he's up around 5pm and then he's overtired by the time we bath him at 6.30 and a feed at 7pm...It's just such a busy time over dinner and with getting Louis fed and bathed as well that he just ends up awake for too long...We've been settling him for the last 1 1/2 now and I think he's nearly asleep now...at least that's better than the 10pm from last night...
Danni - I wouldn't worry - he'll find his hands when he's ready...remember little Mason came early as well so may take a couple of extra weeks to reach some milestones...Dylan's only just started really doing it the last few days...
Chat tomorrow! Sweet dreams everyone!
-
ok mason woke up 2 seconds after my last post and wont settle now.... he has had both boobs and a bottle of ebm! :(
-
Danni, wow at Mason's feed last night! I hope he settled for you after you posted. Ben has only started sucking on his hands the past two weeks, I'm sure Mason will find them soon and you'll be changing his clothes even more often because of soggy sleeves!
Kristie, Ben doesn't go down to sleep until late - usually 10:30-11pm. It's probably not too good for a long-term routine but I find it much easier for me this way, so I'm not going to change it. 3am is not a good time for me, and I am more tired if I wake up at 3am than if I do at 4am for some reason so I'll be keeping the 10:30pm bedtime until Ben either goes for longer between feeds, or drops it altogether.
Good idea about having Dylan looked after while going to the Wiggles with Louis. I love Wiggles concerts, Louis is the perfect age to have a ball!
Hi Erin, I don't think you were around when I was posting before! When was Charlie born?
Poor Ben is getting sick of rolling over  I've been putting him on his tummy more than usual (still only three times yesterday) because I'm just so proud of him - oh, and I want to get it on the video camera! Hopefully I'll catch him on camera today now that I've got the camera ready in his room and the poor boy can get some peace :) I think it will be a long time before he goes the other way, he's happier on his back so I don't see him wanting to go from back to front.
We had a terrible night on Wed night - he barely slept at all and therefore neither did I. We went to the Big W toy sale yesterday morning though, and I put him in the HAB where he slept the entire two hours we were out. I seriously LOVE my HAB, one of the best purchases we made. After shopping he had a bit of a play and then I woke DH up to take over settling Ben as I was beyond tired and was falling apart. Once I woke up DH told me that Ben went to sleep as soon as I went to bed!!! Oh well, at least we were both happy after our naps! Last night we were back to normal, about a five and a half hour big sleep followed by a two hourish one so we're both much happier today :)
I hope you all have lovely days with your bubs and that you are in warmer weather than what we have here!!!
-
Hi all,
Danni, thanks for letting me know about your bf! It makes me feel better to know how much the tabs have helped other people. And gives me the strength to ask the dr for a more permanent arrangement for it.
Kristie, I can't wait till Lily can go to Wiggles and stuff so I can go too, hehehe, I love Wiggles and things like that to dance to, LOL. Must have been scary loosing Louis, eeeekkkk! At least the other mums watch out for all the kids! I know I do when I'm out, watch other peoples kids....
Yay that Dylans sleeping better. At least you can resettle him, Lily will have no part in going back to sleep in the day time, she just gets upset and screams so it's not really worth the effort I don't think! I've tried getting through the tears, but it just gets worse and worse...
Erin, hello!! Lucky you with Charlie's day sleeping and the time he goes to bed...I wish my DH and I had some good quality time together.... Usually by the time Lily goes down, I cook and I get the washing up done, try to do a load of washing, have a shower and eat it's time for me to go to bed too! I don't get much time in the day time to do house work with Lily sleeping so little in the daytime.
Disgirl, hasn't the weather been delightful around here the past few days!! I have been walking every day because it's too nice to be inside, especially after weeks of such dreary weather.
Yay at Ben rolling! Lily is nowhere near rolling I think she's too chubby!! LOL... She doesn't like tummy time and we have to do three or four small tummytimes a day so I don't think she gets enough time to roll...
Don't you hate it when you do all of the hard work and hand bubba over and they go to sleep in a second?! Lily does it all the time to me. I htink it's because I get so drained and tense and she feels it, then when she goes to DH he's relaxed and she goes off easily. That's what I tell myself anyway, hehehe...
We've been doing pretty well with day sleeps, still only 40ish mins and no more but more often than before ;) . At night Lily sleeps well so I can't complain. She usually goes down between 8-10ish and will sleep about 6hrs (7 if I'm lucky, 5 if I'm not!!) then another 4 or 5 then maybe if I'm REALLY lucky we get another 2hrs,but only if she's sleeping with me. She's always up by 8am.
Lil has well and truely found her hands and sucks on them like they're gonna fall off!! It's funny cause she sucks so loud, that's how I know she's awake in the day time because I can hear her sucking her hands, LOL. She gets all slobbrey, all over her face and when I kiss her I get a good dose of Lily slime!
Time for a feed, must go...
Kellie :)

Hi Disgirl, I joined recently. Charlie was born on April 16, he's almost 12weeks - I can't believe how fast that's gone.
Kellie I do feel lucky with his night bed time as I enjoy the quality time with DH, it was a bit nuts before - one would rock whilst the other ate & vice versa:) I'd scoff it too so we'd get a minute or two to chat before both going to bed knackered. We like to go to bed early too as DH is up & at it by 4.30am ready for a 12hr shift...ouch! I'm sure soon we will all have totally different bubs again, they change each day.
Charlie found his hands the day he was born, the midwife said he would have discovered them on the inside LOL, he sucked so hard the day he was born he got the biggest blister on his hand, it looked terrible & showed up in all the first time photos. Though I'm told it's better they suck their hands than a dummy, as they can always find their hands. (not a bad point). He's not rolling or reaching out for toys yet, but he can move himself forward when having tummy time, wiggles along, bit like a snake (if that makes sense). His new thing at the moment is lying on the floor & lifting his legs up, he loves that - which is great for me as he used to just want to be held all day.
Hello Von, welcome.

Welcome Von, am glad things are settling down for you.
Not alot to report here, although Olivia is doing well on her tummy. Hopefully she will be able to roll soon after her harness comes off.
Went shopping today coz I was sick of feeling like a fatty boomba! I cant fit into any of my jeans and have been wearing trackies for the last 3 months. I went to Target and got jeans coz we are going to a birthday on Saturday and am over wearing maternity jeans to go out. I dont know what exercise to do..its a bit cold and wet for walking and I get board of aerobics dvd, so maybe I might invest in a walker, not sure. Would love to go back swimming, so must look into how much the crache is at the pool.
Better go cook. take care
Love Melissa

Hi everyone. Been absent for a little while, busy busy with family stuff mostly.
We had THE best night last night , Hazel went down at 7.30, slept til 2, fed for 20 mins then straight back down til 6am!! Fingers crossed we get a repeat performance tonight and it wasn't just a one off.
Von, welcome to the April buddies thread!
Melissa- I know your post was a while back now but I am going with the infant led way of thinking too. I feed Hazel to sleep at night and it's a beautiful calm way for both of us to end the day. Luckily she will go down awake through the night though and seems to know the difference between day and night. I've just got Pinky Mckays 'Parenting By Heart' out of the library and have 'Sleeping Like A Baby' and ' Wonder Weeks' ordered too. Whenever I start to doubt what I'm doing I just jump online and read through the threads on bellybelly and it reassures me that I'm ok doing what I'm doing!!
Everyone sounds really happy and well at the mo, guess we are settling into new and second time around parenthood and our bubbas are settling down too (well, most of the time!)

Hi!
Had a good day out shopping - laybyed a 4 wheeler for Louis! and bought them both some winter clothes!
Danni - Hope Mason settled for you...
Disgirl - I just like the kids to be in bed as close to 7pm as I can so I can have some time out - both with dh and just for myself! I think I'll start a dream feed though and then hopefully I'll get some decent sleep. Sorry to hear you had a rough night - the rolling is great. I probably haven't put Dylan on his tummy enough - he's so grizzly when I do though...he's holding his head up quite well though so thats ok. He's such a sicky boy though that I don't like putting him on his tummy too much.
Kel - Sounds like she's sleeping well at night - thats great! Isn't it funny how they really go at their fists!!! Dylans very noisy as well!
Von - Hi and welcome!! Congrats on your little boy - Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time but I'm glad that it's getting better for you!!!
Erin - Wow at finding his mouth so early! It is nice when they can start to occupy themselves for a bit. Dylans much better at it that Louis was, but I suppose he hasn't had much of a choise as I have to do things with Louis while he's awake and often gets plonked here and there! hehe.
Melissa - Good for you going out and getting some new clothes!!! I must say I'm still the most comfy in trackies but I have a couple of pairs of jeans that fit ok...just hate the muffin top that comes with them - LOL! I haven't been to the gym for the last couple of weeks but must start again on Monday! Swimming sounds good...I don't think the pools around me have creches - that sounds like such a good idea! I wouldn't need a gym membership if I had a treadmill but we have no space...although I must say I do like doing the classes - I push myself harder in the classes...
Christy - You sound like you're going great! Yeah for such a good night!!
Chat to you all later! Sweet dreams!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.....I feel so bad now I still havent done a lot of tummy time, when I think about it I havent done any all week:( James seems to hate tummy time he will jus scream he has good head control though. I find it so hard cause as soon as I put him down on his tummy he just screams and Natasha comes along and trys to pick him up. Any ideas how to get him eot have tummy time and enjoy it.
James has been up since 12 I have tried everything to get him to sleep even put him in the car and dorve to kmart to get a lat minute bday pressie for tash but he still didnt sleep. He is in his cot at the moment grizzling so fingers crossed he will fall asleep soon.
minimatron-I am still in my maternity clothes feeling like a fatty boomba i am thinking of investing in a cross trainer to help loos the fat but as usual as dh pointed out I will get sick of it and it will end up outside gathering dust:D
Erin_25-That is so cute about Charlie and his hands, James has just discovered his hands and they never seem to be out of his mouth
christyb-I am hoping that Hazel sleeps well for you again tonight it is so refreshing to actually get a decent nights sleep
Krisvee-I just got back from shopping and I wish I had only brought a few things instead I think I brought one of everything in kmart  dh is going to kill me when he gets the credit card statement
Ok well James is sleeping so I am off to blow up some baloons for Natasha's party
-
Hi!
Von - Bugger that James didn't sleep all day! Glad he's sleeping now though - Wow I hope Natasha has a wonderful b'day!! The only thing I would suggest about tummy time is to maybe put him on your chest so he's looking at you iykwim?? I wouldn't stress too much about it though...
-
Hi!
We had a great night!!! Dylan fed fairly early around 1.30am but then slept in until 7.30am! It makes such a difference when he just sleeps through and doesn't wake every hour for something!! So I feel refreshed - thinking I should have gone to bed earlier than 11pm though! LOL.
Caro - Yeah on getting tickets though! They sell out so quickly! Wow on going 4 years in a row. That sounds great having box tickets for the fairies!! I'm thinking I'm also going to invest in those wrist bands with my name and number on them for Louis' wrist for the wiggles just in case!!!
-
We had great night too. We went out so Charlie didn't get put to bed til 7.30pm & we got him through to 4am with only one dummy replacement!!!!! then up at 7am, he's always up at that time regardless of when he went to bed.
However he woke up a sick little boy:( There has been a horrible bug going around town, and since we go out a lot with other kids it's unavoidable. He only managed 70ml in his bottle & I could tell his throat is really sore as he had trouble even crying......poor thing. Well he's back in bed now, hopefully he get's better soon.
Wiggles, girls that sounds like fun. I can't wait to start doing all that cool stuff with Charlie.

Hi Ladies,
Glad everyone seems to be going so well...we are good here too...went and checked out the daycare and left in floods of tears! Ok roast chicken is ready gotta run!

I'm so glad I'm not working now - I hope I don't have to go back now until the kiddies are at school! Will definitely check out your piccies...Enjoy your dinner!

hey guys...we went away to the country for the weekend and Mason was on his best behaviour! I love the fact that we can just take off somewhere and he fits in with us and sleeps anywhere.
He slept all day in the car on the way home, and was asleep again at 7pm. He is now in bed and I PRAY he sleeps all night.
Bought a GPS system today and Dh is rapt! He is a courier so is really looking forward to stopping reading the street directory.
Hope everyone has a great night
