Hi All,
Sounds like we are all doing well. As for me, after about 4 days of crying over little things and everything that Adam said to me, coz I was so tired and run down, and after organising my mum to have Olivia today for the whole day so I could sleep and catch up on house work. Well, guess what? She fell asleep at midnight, after a very grizzly day, and woke up at 8am for a feed which usually takes up to 45minutes but was gone in less than 10 and fell back asleep. She is just stirring and its 11am. OMG. I got up at 10am. I feel good, still very emotional though...cant work out why. But have packed the car ready to go after her feed. Now I will be able to come home clean up and relax and maybe sleep:) I hope this isnt just a flash in the pan...otherwise my sanity is going to go out the window!!!
Got to run, my moo moo is awake:)
Love to you all
Melissa

Kristie, wow sounds like you've got lots for Christams, well done. The ball pit thing you were talking about, where do you get them from? Sounds like a great idea. Think I will get Charlie a swing too.
Danni that big car will be soooo cute. Spoke to my brother last night, he's also Charlie's godfather, says he's going to get him a motorbike.....that could be interesting. Boys & their toys LOL.
Melissa you are not the only one who has been crying for the past few days over nothing....me too. Another bad night with Charlie & DH is still on night shift - tonights the last night - can't wait for it to be over. I've come to the conclusion he's not feeding enough during the day as he's now on thickened formula & won't go up a teat size. So he's tired before he gets enough to drink, that's why he's waking every hour!!! ahhhhhh. That's my theory anyway, today we are going to encourage the bigger teat, I hope it works:pray:
Better go, hope you get another good night Melissa. Bye all.

Thanks Erin.
I honestly dont know whats wrong with me. I dropped off Olivia at mums and came home and had a sleep. I just want to cry. And I am crying about what people say to me. I rang up my mum to see if everything was ok and she asked me to speak up, so I started crying again. AF has finished, so I'm not sure what it can be. GRRRR. Hopefully brighter days will come soon, I hate feeling miserable like this.

Hi!
Had a great day!! We all headed up to the snow but dropped Dylan off at my sisters...less than 2 hours later I had a text message saying to come and get him cos he's crying! My sisters such a worrywart - she's got 2 kids 8 and 10 and she just freaks out if a baby cries...anyway picked him up and he was fine! Had a big sleep once we got home and basically woke up had a bath and some booby and has gone back to sleep!
Danni - Glad you had fun and Mason went well!
Melissa - Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time...Big hugs! Hope you had a good day today though!
Just read your last post - you poor thing...Don't know if it's a help but are you taking any multivitamins?? I've run out in the last week and definitley notice a difference...Otherwise just get as much sleep as you can...! If you don't feel better soon maybe you should head to the dr and make sure it's not post natal - the earlier you get on top of it the better if thats the case...I've heard anti-depressants can take a couple of months to actually kick in...Hope it's not though and it's just your hormones playing around with you! Big big hugs - make sure you look after yourself!!
Erin - I got mine from the kmart sale last year - only $10!! Not sure if they had them this year - I'm sure they would have though. I'm also going to toys r us next week to try and pick up some more balls - they have them 100 for $12!! A very cheap toy but lots of fun!
LOl ont he motorbike - Louis and Dylan have been promised them from they're Opa as well! For xmas Louis is getting a "cars" 4 wheeler motorbike! Just a little 6 volt battery thing - he's going to have so much fun though!!
Sorry you haven't been feeling great either - geez having no sleep is really a killer and can make anyone emotional! Hope you sort out the feeding issues...
Chat tomorrow!

Hi
Think I just had a big hormonal week. Feel great today after a miserable few days. Just with lack of sleep, AF, I think I needed a good cry. I did that last night on Adams shoulder, then had a few glasses of port with the roast pork he cooked and I think I will be ok. I havent taken multivitamins since I was pregnant. Will start them again. I dont think I am depressed, but was thinking of going to have a chat with the gp anyway.
Thaks for listening
Melissa

good on you melissa. Chat to your gp anyway. Its great to chat with people you trust.
Mason decided he didnt want to go to bed last night! he went down at 8. Woke at 9 which is so unlike him, and wouldnt go back down til 10:30. I tried everything but he just wanted to play. I was so exhausted :(
-
HI everyone,
Sorry to hear some of you have had a hard few days...I have too. It's definately the night shift thing for me too Erin!! My DH is on night shift too and it is so tiring to have noone to help at all. My DH works tonight and then he has a few days off, thank goodness, I'm getting fragile these days too. And I think Lily is going through her 12 wk storm, I've had a rough few nights, getting up 3-5 times!! I hope she settles soon, I'm buggered!
Erin, our savings keep on dwindling because little unexpected things keep on happening like having to fix the car, buy new tires, etc...it sucks, I hate money. Hopefully our tax will give us a break from money woes....
I have no idea what I will get Lily for chrissy...she's going to be spoilt too, so I am lucky I wont have to get much.
Kristie, glad to hear you're having good days! Lucky you :) . Sounds like you've brought up a storm for the boys for chrissy, how do you have enough space for it all? I'm struggling already in our place.
Yep I have seen the bath thingys but I just haven't brought one. Lily will probably be sitting by the time I get to it.
Sounds like you had a fun time( if short!) at the snow. I'd love to go back to the snow, I was 16 the last time I went, it was sooo much fun!
Danni, thanks for the support! It has been tough but I'll keep on keeping on...hopefully next time bf will be more successful.
Melissa, glad to hear youre feeling better. Our hormones are still raging aren't they? On top of still trying to figure out our little ones, it's not a good combination sometimes! Have you had your iron levels checked since having Olivia? Maybe that's what the problem is...
:) Kel.
Danni and Caro, you posted after me! OMG Caro, I'd be falling asleep at every opportunity. Lily is usually in bed by 8ish, but never any later than 10!
-
Hey there everyone, well we had a great night last night. I made sure I encouraged the new teat yesterday & he drank lots more....then he slept from 7pm - 2am & i just put his dummy back in & he didn't wake up til 4.30 for a feed....I feel soooooo much better.
Danni 10pm that's a pain, hope you were watching something good on telly. I can't say I've had that trouble with Charlie since he was about 5weeks old, he's out like a light every night around 7pm if not earlier, unless we are out as he's more alert now he doesn't sleep in the pram like he used to. Yesterday I had to wake him @ 5.30 so i'd get him back to sleep that night & he was in bed before 7 again - I'm very thankful for that routine he's set himself, I love being able to watch some telly before bed & DH & I get to have dinner together (when he's home).
Melissa good to hear you feel great today....must be the start of a new & better week. Yay on the roast pork, I've had a few tears too but didn't get a roast. Might have to have words with DH about that LOL.
Kel those unexpected things are killer aren't they. I thought I had set a good budget for our trip to Perth but DH tells me we need new tyres too!!! ahhhh, as we are driving to Perth & it's over 10hrs away we don't want to risk going with the old ones....good bye new shoes:( I've sorted out Charlies Chrissy presents, only getting a couple things from us - the VTECH walkers are on sale, they look really good. Oh yeah & one of those ball things if I can find one, they sound like heaps of fun. Speaking of unexpected expenses, Charlie got 2 Birthday party invites in the mail today - that will be the 4th party in less than a month!!!!! getting very expensive. And he's only 12weeks, but it's such a close knit community up here you get invited to everything.
Caro I feel the same, very blessed when Charlie sleeps up to 7 or 9 hours. He's been doing at least 7hrs since he was about 8wks old.
Kristie getting to the snow, that sounds like fun. Shame you didn't spend too long there.
Ok. better go & watch greys anatomy, had to tape it as I went to bed really early expecting to be up all night.:)

G'day all :D
Sorry I haven't been in for a while, its just been hectic here. Trying to settle Patrick into his cot, all was going well just then until his dad started sanding in the room next door!
The mothers' group with our MCHN is going well, and it seems most of the mums there are cluster feeding before the long sleeps too. Today the kids' librarian visited and read out a book to the babies, and I was amazed at Pip's reaction! He was really excited by it all! So tomorrow we're going to try to get to the baby reading session and then join him up as a member, and borrow some books & cd's for him - they also have sheet music there for the piano which will be handy.
Hopefully now he's in his cot behind me, I can put him up here to sleep and get on the puter for a bit longer!
Ciao, dream pretty and stay safe everyone.

Hi!
Had a good day today! Finally made it back to the gym which was good. Dylans having quite good day sleeps now and is still sleeping all night. Although last night he wanted 2 feeds - grrr! hehe. He's really grabbing at his toys now and for the first time he woke up after his sleep having a little chat and play to himself! It's so nice when they do that and don't just wake with a cry...
Melissa - So glad you're feeling a bit better!! Thats great news!!
Danni - Sorry to hear Mason kept you up!! They're good at changing things around all the time!! Dylans easier to get to sleep than Louis at the moment!! grrrr.
Caro - Bugger about the late bedtimes. Glad you get a big sleep after that though! Hope you feel better soon!
Kel - Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a rough time as well. Hope you get a rest in over the next few days.
I'm in such big trouble for buying so much...we really can't afford it either but I get sucked in by the lay bys! I've just gone through all of the boys toys and put them into 14 bags that I rotate each day so that he plays with all of them. So I'll do the same with chrissy toys...rotate them around so they all get played with! We've only got small space as well so its easier to keep them all packed away and just bring out a bag at a time - less to clean at the end of the day as well!
Erin - Yeah!! Glad the new teat worked for you and you got some extra sleep! Wow at all of those b'day parties!!! Bugger at having to get new tyres!
Kaz - Hi!!! Good to hear from you!!! I'm glad everythings going well. Hope to hear from you more!
Better clean the kitchen! Chat later!
-
bugger cleaning the kitchen kristie! mine can stay upside down ;)
I have a migraine. Mason has been very unsettled today...even screaming while he is asleep. I am sure he has a tummy problem.
ok im going to cuddle with dh..mason is finally asleep

G'day.
All good here. We are having a lazy day today, still in PJs and I'm not actually going to leave the house at all, so nice! Little Miss Hazel has gone back to 2 night feeds again. It's a bit of a bummer but I guess she needs them. Might try a dream feed before I go to sleep. I tried it a while back but she still woke up at 2, but might be worth a try now that she's waking at 1. W e had a great weekend and had a big family barby on sunday. It's been so beautiful here through the day- like a nice English summer's day lol!
Melissa- I'm so glad you're feeling better- there are probably still lots of hormones flowing around our bodies and even with our bubbas settling down a bit we're still not exactly getting proper sleep IYKWIM!! Hope some retail therapy makes you smile :D
Kris- Glad you had fun at the snow.. We would love a trip to NZ as we're both snowboarders but it will have to wait til next winter I think due to finances and a certain little girl! DH will have her on a board before she can even walk if he has his way lol! Sounds like Dylan and Hazel are going through a similar stage!
Erin- Sounds like you guys have a very happening social life! Yay on your great night- the teat must be doing the trick
Kellie- Sorry to hear you've had some bad nights and I bet it is the 12 week storm. At least you know (in theory) that it shouldn't last too long!
Kaz- good to hear from you and you sound really well and happy! Glad you are enjoying your Mother's Group- I'm really looking forward to starting mine in August. I took Hazel to the nursery rhymes session at the library a few weeks back and she slept the whole time! She is enjoying me reading to her though and thet do say it's never too early!
Danni- sorry to hear you're having some unsettled nights with Mason. Hopefully he'll be back on track soon.
Well, I am going to make some toast and keep on searching ebay for a battery powered baby swing thing. The lady at the gym creche puts Hazel in one and she goes to sleep in it without fail so I figured one could come in very handy at home! She is still the worlds' worst day time sleeper!

Hi everyone. It has been so long since I posted in here. Everything is just a bit crazy at the moment. Iggy has started getting a little reflux. I went to the Dr today as I suspected that and she confirmed it was but said it is mild and as it has started so late that it should resolve quickly. I hope she is right. I dont want to put him on meds yet. I really just wanted a diagnosis so I can try some different things (like keeping him more upright etc) but will go back if it gets worse.
Luckily he is still packing on the weight like a little chubster. He now weighs 7.55kg and is 67cm long. No wonder I can't hold him in one arm and have trouble feeding without my pillows!
We had three nights last week where he slept through from 10-6. We thought woo hoo but it was shortlived and we are back to one feed overnight. Oh well. One is fine. Two just kills me.
When I went to the doctors today she told me that he was too cold (he wasn't) and made me feel really bad and I just burst into tears. Isn't it annoying when you try so hard and someone can undermine that with just a little comment. We also had a run in with another mother over a parking space of all things so it wasn't a good morning. I have my mothers group this afternoon so hopefully the day will improve.
Well good to see you are all going well. I will try and catch up on all the news and do personals next time.
xoxo

Hi everyone,
I wondered if it would be okay for me to join this group? I know you've all been communicating for quite some time now, so if the group is already established, I completely understand. But if not, it would be rea

**sorry hit send too early*!!* cont'd:
really cool to join, as I had my baby, a little boy called Zayd, in April this year, and it would be fun to have some other mums to chat with whose babies are my son's age. I also have a little girl, Aisha, who is 4. I'm not sure what else to say about myself or my kids, so I'll leave it there, and if it IS okay for me to join in, then if you want my boring bio, I can provide it then :)
look forward to hearing back from you.
Cheers,
Susan

Hey Susan,
Welcome to BB. And congrats on the birth of your son. You're most welcome to join. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hope all is well with everyone. I made an appointment to see my GP, but its not until next Tuesday. What a busy day that will be for me. We have gp in the morning, then Olivia has physio and her ultrasound and then am catching up with some of the girls I met in my antenal class, cant wait. Oh and that leaves us with 2 weeks until Olivia sees the specialist. Hopefully the harness will come off, but not holding my breath this time. I gave her a bath last night. Shes already grown since we got the new bath and her head and feet almost touch at the same time. I cant believe how much she loves the water. I pop her on her tummy and she almost swims and doesnt mind her head/face getting wet. Shes been sleeping ok since her first all nighter on Saturday (cant believe it took 14 weeks). Last night she slept from 1030 til 5am then went back down til 930. Makes for a more saner me!!!
Take care and rug up
Love Melissa

Hi Susan, you are very, very welcome in the April Baby Buddies! Would love to hear all about little Zayd, great name by the way!
Hi Krysalyss- don't let anyone bring you down- you are doing a fantastic job and Iggy's obviously thriving! IKWYM about 2 night feeds, one is a walk in the park but 2 and I'm knackered. It also seems to take longer to get back to sleep lately.....
I have been so utterly lazy today and I love it!! Just been lying/ sitting around drinking tea and feeding and cuddling and talking important baby business with Hazel!
