Hey Danni, I know exactly what you are saying.
I was just trying to clear up what I'd previously said as I feel my opinion was targeted & underminded so to speak.
Anyway, hope you feel better soon. I often put Charlie down around 4pm for a power nap when he hasn't slept long enough in the arvo, or he's in bed too early and waking up very early too. I've managed to get this to work to keep him up til around 6.30 - 7pm and now he wakes for the day at 8am YAY (after a few wakings of course).
Melissa that is so great to hear. I bet you're flat out bouncing her up & down now LOL - that's great. Charlie has just discovered the fun of lifting his legs & does it all the time now, even in the Bath - so cute.
Kristie I had heaps of fun buying summer stuff for Charlie in Perth...though since he hasn't been weighed for a while I found it harder to choose the correct sizes. Oh well, it's already 30 up here now - we don't get much of a Winter, so he'll get some wear out of it. And yes, the Bonds stuff is great.
Kellie YAY on the rolling over, it's great when they do something for the first time. Charlie almost did today but got stuck on his side & then got very frustrated. Keep us updated on how the sleeping bag etc goes....I'm borrowing one from a friend tomorrow to try Charlie in before I buy one as they are soooo very expensive. But he kicks off his blankets every night & we've already got the aircond on!!!
Ok well I must go, I've made a good start on this mini scrapbook - I really want to finish something I've started LOL.

Hi!
Danni - bugger about the migraine - I was about to message you tomorrow to see what you've been up to..I hope other than that you've been well.
Erin - I do that with Dylan as well..although if he sleeps later than 5 then I can guarantee he'll be up until 9 or 10pm...
Wow - I'm so jealous of the warm weather! I can't wait to have some warm weather and to head to the park and beach etc. I'm so not a winter person!
With the sleeping bags - you can get cheap ones from big w, kmart, target and myer! You don't have to get the brand name ones..even bonds have one now as well...I'm not sure how much exactly but under $20!
K - off to bed soon! Chat later!

Hi all,
I haven't posted in this thread before today but I guess we're entitled to be here too!
Logan was born the 20th of April, Hitlers birthday...so that's of course left him open to a lot of jokes in the future...he is already the little dictator around here!
He's a strong and determined little guy who loves sitting up and observing his world. He's not the type of baby who is happy to lay back and let life pass by, he has to be part of the conversation and know what's going on all the time.
He sleeps most nights from 8pm to 6am or so and usually wakes for one feed but lately it seems to be 2 feeds and last night was 3...urgh, so I think a growth spurt is coming on. He's pretty good at rolling from tummy to back but gets stuck on his arm most of the time when going from back to tummy. He's generally happy to do tummy time for as long as I like, so long as I stay on the floor with him to keep him company but is happiest in his rocker chair or in the bumbo.
He's a boob lover and hasn't had anything else (except for water when it's hot) and I plan to start giving him little tastes (½ a teaspoon of food once a day) from about 4 months and start to build it up to real mouthfuls when he's 5½-6 months old. His physical signs are ready for him to start but he's not really shown much interest in my food yet, so we won't push things.
I think I have one of the smiliest babies on the planet! It's only when he's really tired that he won't smile on cue and he'll even force out a smile when he has a tummy ache. He's usually pretty easy to settle and doesn't cry much but when he does give us 10 minutes of yelling, it's for a reason, so we can't hold it against him too much!
I'm an ex-melbourne girl and my fiancé is Danish. We live in Malmö, Sweden and have been together for 5½ years. Logan is the 1st baby for both of us but I worked for a number of years both as a nanny and as a preschool teacher so there aren't too many surprises for me but it's a steep learning curve for Thomas!
So that's us in a nutshell...nice to meet you all!
-
erin, 30 degrees! omg i am freezing here lol
kristie: thanks, yes im otherwise well! but trying to work out why monster mason keeps waking at night now :dunno:
hey adele! Logan was gunna be masons name! hehe Logan and Dylan share the same birthday, and thats also the day that Mason was supposed to be born by ceasar, but he decided to come early :)
-
Goodmorning all,
Well I think I]ll have time for personals today......Lily is asleep, but we'll see how long for! ;)
Melissa, yay that Olivia's immunisations are over. I have that to look forward to next week...hopefully it won't be too bad.
What great news to hear that Olivia's harness is coming off in the day! LOL at putting jeans on her!
Kris, sorry to hear Louis was sick, I hope it's all gone now, poor little man. That's great that Dylan's sleeping better. Lily's sleeps are all over the place at the moment. Not in a bad way but I can't predict when she'll wake up anymore, her patterns are changing.
Yes IKWYM about our bubbas being so cute now. Lil is so smiley and funny now. She's really starting to giggle at things now, last night I was saying 'mum mum mum' to her and she thought it was hilariuos (sp?), I was laughing at her laughing, we were both in histerics! It's the first time she's giggled at things she sees/hears and not at being tickled.
Yes I did get a fair bit of work done yesterday, but I find it hard to concerntrate when Lily's crying and DH is looking after her. I am still behind though, must get into a routine and make sure I keep up to date. I only have this one semester until I finish. :D
I'm jealous about the massage, I still haven't gotten one yet. I do plan to get one one day!
Danni, hello. How are you today, hope the migrane is gone. Lily is waking at any time between 5 and 7 am these days. She has no real routine for sleep at the moment, other than she's in bed by 8.30pm. Little monkey!
Christy, yay that Hazel is sleeping well again. I think if she's happy being wrapped then just go with it, better you get a good sleep! I actually wish I could still wrap Lily then she might not wriggle out of her blankets at night. I usually tuck her in tightly, but she's getting strong enough to get out of it now and she wakes with freezing hands.
Caro, hi how are things going? I hope all is well with you and Michael.
Deb, hi, how is Mattias going, how is the reflux?
Erin, hello to you too!! I hope Charlie is doing well! I haven't used the sleeping bag yet. I will have to start though, in the last few days, lily has been getting out of her blankies. Luckily it has been quite warm at night here recently.
Adele, hello and welcome! Logan sounds like a little gem!
Ok gonna go and try to study or clean.....gee decisions!!! LOL...
-
Hi!
My SIL had her baby this morning!! Woohoo his name is Lachlan Andrew and he's 50cm long and 8lb 14! Poor thing laboured all afternoon and early morning and even pushed for a couple of hours before they decided she'd need a c-s...should have had one from the word go as the cord was all tangled around his neck and he wasn't in the right position and was all twisted. Poor little monkey. Anwyay, they're all doing well now!
Dylans woken up with the sniffles so mums going to mind the kids while I go in for a visit this afternoon!
Adele - Wow- I didn't know that was Hitlers b'day! hehe. Might keep that to myself as noone else has picked up on it either! LOL. Logan sounds like a beautiful little bubba - Dylans very smiley like that as well. You sound like a very relaxed Mummy!! Thats fantastic!! It's obviously shining through to your bubba. I like the name Logan as well!!
Kel - Urrgggh cleaning or study...not very good choices - hehehehe! I do hope you catch up soon though - Not long to go!! Ooh Lily sounds gorgeous laughing at you. Dylans smiles a lot but he's not a huge giggler - he does when I tickle him but it's really funny! It's like it's hard for him to do. It's the cutest sound in the world though!
k better go - chat later!
-
Kristie, congratulations on being an aunty again!!! I was in a similar situaltion with my brith too, though Lily wasn't tangled in her cord, but I laboured for ages and pushed for ages. The Dr offered a c/s but I really didn't want one and kept on telling him not yet, I'll keep trying. Thankfully she was born just in time before he came to do a c/s. It will be nice to have someone to be a mummy with, iykwim? How exciting! Have a lovely visit.
Study or clean....Yeah not the greatest of choices huh? But it has to be done unfortunately. I did a bit more study and a bit of cleaning, but not much of each!! Hehe. Lily's teeth have flared up again and she's a grumpalump again, so she's been getting lots of cuddles.
A baby's giggle is the most gorgeous sound in the world isn't it. I love it, it makes me smile whenever a bubba laughs, it's such a contageous sound. It was the first time Lily had reaaly giggled too, she is only just figuring out how to do it, it's like she needs to think about it before it will come out.
-
Hi!
Kel - glad you got some stuff done!! Yeah I'm really excited to have someone 5min away that has a little baby that I get along with so well! I've been waiting for this for ages!!
Oh my little nephew is so cute!! He looks just like his mum! I had big cuddles! Makes me clucky again! LOL! They're both doing really well which is great though! I'm going to help her out next week as my brother has to work for 2 days in the middle of the week...
K gotta go - chat later!
-
Hi everyone,
Kristie that is great. I am soooo jelous, I always joked about having a baby around the same time as my Sister...it would have been great. Now I don't like anywhere near my family or close friends. Though here we have a really close Mum's group - but still not as good as a family member you get along with really well. Speaking of being clucky, since having Charlie I told DH we are not having any more kids unless he has them LOL but today on my way to Yoga as Charlie was happily chatting to himself I thought, yeah I could do this again. I think i've finally overcome my fear of having another bubs & not knowing what to do again. YAY, didn't want him to be an only child.
Yeah Danni, sounds silly doesn't it - 30 degrees in Aug!!! we only had a small amount of winter & I went soft as I haven't been able to handle the change yet & it's only going to get worse. By Dec it will be around 40 degrees by lunch everyday....there goes my walking everywhere with Charlie so it's time to hook in & loose some weight so I can be lazy during the hot weather & not be too embarrassed to go to the pool & take Charlie to swimming lessons.
I can't wait to start swimming lessons with Charlie, it will be soooooo much fun. Even bought him some little board shorts when we went shopping, so cute.
Kellie that's great you avoided the C/S, me too. Charlie had the cord around his neck, as did I when I was born. The more people I speak to the more common it seems - weird. I was close to C/S too, I just pushed for dear life to also avoid it - Charlie's head was around the wrong way (facing my leg) so it kept going back up instead of out!!!! it was a very long pushing process & when C/S was mentioned I gave it all I had & out he came. Though he was soooo stressed they took him away first up, that was hard.
Yes a baby's giggle is awesome. I'll never forget the first day Charlie did it, I did something to him & away he went - then for about a week I couldn't get him to do it again. Now he giggles whilst drinking, when he's had enough he just stops drinking & starts to chat & giggle still with teat in his mouth, very cute.
Adele, welcome. Sounds like you've got a great bubs & loving every minute of it. Nice one.
Oooh, got to go - DH has just risen from sleep (night shift) & is about to say "are you on that computer again" LOL.
Bye

Hi!
Very quiet in here! We had a bit of a better sleep last night...Dylan was still unsettled until midnight and then I got about 3 hours sleep in before he wanted a feed. He's going around 7-8 hours for his night feed now so I can't really complain. He's already down for his 2nd sleep today..he only napped this morning...
Erin - Yeah it was when Louis was around 4 months old that I got clucky for no.2! I mean, I always new I'd have another one but I got clucky then...my sister reckons she never got clucky for another one but just knew she was going to have 2...I don't know I find that a bit odd really...I think you need to have those warm fuzzy feelings about it - it's such an ordeal to be p/g for 9m, birth a bubba and then deal with all those sleepless nights you've got to really want it!! hehe.
Ooh the kids look so cute in boardies! hehe. Poor Dylan will just get all of Louis' old stuff like that...Althought the rate Dylans growing they may be in the same size clothes in a couple of years - lol!
Geez - it really does sound common with the cord. I think the problem with my sil was that the cord was too short as well - so they said he never would have been able to come out. The likened it to a dog on a lead so everytime he was getting pushed down it was strangling him...poor little munchkin.
I'm dying for another visit but we've all got the sniffles so it's best to wait until we're better - I hate to be responsible for giving them colds!!
-
I'm so bad at replying to personals atm.. sorry.
Alls good in camp Olivia, for the past 2 ights she has done the most wonderful thing... slept through. And I mean slept right through. I put her down around 9pm and she has woken up about 830am. Isnt it funny how they just decide that they can do it. Its great:) Hopefully this will remain. I actually dont mind getting up once during the night, but the 2 hourly feeds I dont miss!
Olivia is doing well without the harness on. She hasnt found her feet yet, but shes quickly worked out how to push her bed covers off in the morning. Tummy time is getting much better and this morning she managed 5 minutes without screaming!!! Hopefully that means we can work more on her flat head.
Kristie, sorry to hear Louis is sick. Hope he is feeling better.
Erin, I know what you mean about the swimming lessons, I cant wait.
Kellie, hope Lilys teeth dont cause to much grief. Loads of cuddles is fun. I love Olivias chuckle, its so deep and hearty. Shes been doing it for a few weeks now, the first time she did it was when I dropped her at mums for the day. My dad was talking about it, I had no idea.... its soooo cute. Enjoy.
Adele, welcome
Caro- how was the Christening?
Danni, hows the migraine? Nothing worse hey? Hope you are feeling better. Hows Mason?
Hey Deb, how you doing? Settled back into things after your trip??
Hellow to everyone else... sorry I havent written peronals to everyone, but I hope you are all doing well.
Sounds like olivias pushing one out for Mummy!!! Better get it before it goes everywhere, like yesterdays effort!!!
Take care
Love Melissa

Hi all,
Well we had another topsy-turvey few nights. Lily has been waking 3hrly and is up no later than 6am. Mummy is not a happy camper! I just want to sleep ;) Hopefully she'll remember the 9hour sleep she did for me soon and have a repeat performance. Her day sleeps are getting better. Some days were even managing 3 hours once a day, and at least 45min at a time. She's usually down by 8.30pm too so at least I get that time for me and time with DH.
Ok the little monkey is calling....
-
Hey it is super quiet in here!! we must all be busy Mumma's - I must admitt I am not sure where the day goes sometimes, my Mum calls babies little time wasters (he,he) - good time wasters that is!
Well our sleep is all over the place, we now are feeding twice overnight which we haven't done in ages - I was stressed about it at first & would try & settle rather than feed & that just resulted in getting up & down more & being up for way too long - so now I am just feeding & we are all back in bed quicker & much happier.
Charlie has been sleeping in a grobag the past few nights (borrowed from a friend, it's pink LOL!!!!) so he looks like a little girl. Have still had to wrap his arms as he wakes himself up other wise but the grobag is fantastic. He doesn't get chilly whilste feeding & no more kicking blankets off - I also found a website that often has them on special ATM they have a couple selling for $40.
Melissa yes it's very funny how all of a sudden something just clicks & they do it. I'm still waiting for Charlie to realise he can sleep all night, soon I hope. No doubt his sleeping will be great this week as DH finishes night shift!!
Well must go, I'm getting nothing else done.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone.
Melissa- I'm insanely jealous of you! I can't wait to have Logan sleep through! We co-sleep, so it'll probably be a long time for us as it's so easy for him to just wriggle over and prod me when he wants a snack! He's slept through (9 hours) once about a month ago but I think it was a fluke. Our regular pattern has been 1 waking a night around 2.30 but we went on holidays for 9 days and slept in 4 different beds in that period of time and I think the whole thing muddled up his rhythm and now it's 2 wakings and sometimes 3.
I have a couple of fellow new mum friends who are BFing every 2 hours around the clock still, so I really can't complain!
I think I make myself more tired than I need be. I'm a card carrying 'B-person'. I'm useless in the morning and perky at 10-11pm, so I usually go to bed at midnight because I think I should rather than I want to. I really should try to go to bed earlier but you try getting a leopard to change his spots!
It's lovely that you all see me as so relaxed..quite the opposite really. I have a lot of experience and that, no doubt, makes a lot of the new-mum trials easier but I had a pretty tough time emotionally over the last few months and had a mini-breakdown at about 5 weeks after he was born. Thomas works in Norway and is home 7 days then away 7 days and it was tough going without sleep in the early days, plus I'm the type of person who tends to have unreachably high standards for myself and inevitably, I ended up feeling dissapointed in myself and had trouble bonding with my perfect, little baby. I've been seeing a psychologist who has helped a lot and has in a nutshell told me to stop being so tough on myself and accept that I'm doing a great job...she's right...but it's just the way I am!!
If you like baby giggles, go to youtube and do a search for baby laughing and you'll get some brilliant hits...you can sit and watch them all day and not get tired of it.
I've got my own 'baby laugh clip' on webshots if you wanna check out my bub...
http://family.webshots.com/album/559951323GpXoyy
It's from about a month ago.
Hope you've all had a good weekend...
-
Can't talk now but Adele I just watched your video - HOW GORGEOUS!!! He is just beautiful!!! Wow - we haven't got laughs that easily! hehehe.
-
G'day all!
Well everyone's been so busy!
My computer blew up today so I'm on my DF's puter. Grrr.
At least he got to be at home during a long-term blackout today, so now he knows why I feel quite helpless when we lose power - a major problem when you can't breastfeed!
Melissa - I missed when Olivia came off her harness, is it off permamently now? Congrats either way!
Patrick's going through a "if mummy's not in sight the world has ended" phase which is sorta frustrating (but oh-so-cute when his daddy is holding him). Its coinciding with his not-sleeping-through-the-night thing - 1am and 4am and 6:30 feeds the last couple of days. I think that's cause his daddy is thinking that Patrick doesn't need to finish his bottle if he doesn't want to ... if only his Daddy did all the waking up!
Anyhows, gotta go and check up on the fisher-price recall, see if we're affected.
Dream pretty everyone!
-
Hi girls I'm back...
Glad to see some more action going on here!
Well we have the joys of teething to deal with again and of course DH is on nigh shift.... another sleepless night I guess :( .
Erin, yeah I'm glad I didn't have to have a c/s. It would have been so much more traumatic. As it was I was induced and labour for almost 24hrs and pushing for 3 1/2 hrs! Lily had a big head (take after daddy, hehehe) and got stuck twice. I ended up with a huge epesiotomy. But like you,I'm feeling like I can do it all again too. I thought I wouldn't feel like this after having Lily, but now I want to do it again and hopefully do it all differently and how I want it done!
Melissa, lucky you with Olivia sleeping so well. Ooohh what I'd give for a better nights sleep....
Hang on I think Lily is waking.....................
Ok I'm back, Lily just woke for an hour after going down at 7.30, grrrr...I think it will be a loong night. I had planned on an early night, but I still need to wash up, fold clothes and tidy, don't think an early night will be happening!
Ok gonna go, will finish posting tomorrow!
-
Adele, Logan is georgeous. He looks like such a happy baby.
Kaz, Olivia is able to have her harness off during the day, but has to sleep with it overnight. i just felt her hip clunk when I put her to bed, it makes me a bit nervous.... only time will tell I guess.
I just had a quick question/comment... does anyones bub prefer them to their daddy for bottle time/going to sleep? Olivia has become a little choosey in the last few days, particularly at night. She will only feed from me and will only fall asleep with me. She gives Adam a hard time, especially when i go have a shower....
Anyway, lets hope my moo moo will do her sleep through the night thing again!
Good night,
Love Melissa
-
Hi!
Urgghh another shocker of a night...Dylan woke every 1 - 1 1/2 all night!! He wanted an extra feed at 11pm and then kept waking so I brought him into bed with me and he then fed at about 5.30pm again...I was putting back in his bed and then Louis decided it was time to get up - NOOOO! I tried to get him to sleep with me but he wouldn't have it so I put the t.v on for him and just as I was starting to doze Dylan decides to wake up for the day...I'm sooo tired!!! Luckily Dh is home today after a weekend away working so hopefully I can get an early night! So all up Dylan fed 7 times yesterday!!! If he keeps this up longer than a week (meaning it's not just a growth spurt and he needs more milk) I'm definitely starting him on solids soon! I've still got heaps of milk but he's just a hungry hippo! He'll probably have a high metabolism like his dad - he's tall and skinny and can eat whatever he likes without putting on weight! It will be interesting to see what his weight gain will be at his next check up...I think it's really slowed down but I think he looks like he's grown a lot longer!
Anyway...
Melissa - I'm sooo jealous - I hope she keeps up the great sleeps for you! Thats fantastic! Yeah about the harness as well! I think it's pretty common for bubbas to want mummy!! It will probably only get worse before it gets better as well. I don't have too much drama with Dylan but then again I basically do everything with him anyway (dh deals with Louis more)
Kel - hope your getting some better sleep!
Erin - Oh yeah - super timewasters! hehe. Sometimes I just don't get anything done in a day!!
Adele - Having a baby should snap you out of it - LOL!! You'll probably settle when he gets a bit older (or you have another one - then you really don't have a choice - LOL)
Kaz - Bugger about your computer! Geez thats bad that you're having so many blackouts...hope it gets fixed up soon! Hope Patrick settles for you soon...
Better go - chat later!

Ditto to that!!!! Charlie has been up for 2 drinks or more everynight for the past 2weeks, meaning he's having heaps of feeds each day too. This worries me a little as he is FF & he is a big boy. Haven't had him weighed for a while as the CHN had to head back to England to tend to her sick Mum....so will ring Doc's today & see if I can just get him weighed. Was thinking about just giving him a bottle of the hungry baby formula before bed & see how that goes. Otherwise we might head down the solids path.....I know this doesn't make them sleep through & so on but it may aid to cut out too many bottles each day.
Last night was a shocker...I've been up since 4.30am, ahhhhhhh. Was just getting back to sleep @ 6am when DH arrives home from night shift & comes in to talk to me to tell me he lost his ph. Then the kind person who found it RANG @ 6am in the Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we've been up ever since. Oh well it was DH last shift for 3days, so when he gets up I'm having a nap.
Yeah since DH works 12hrs a day 7days a week & so on, Charlie is very much a Mummy's boy. It's a cracker the way he looks at DH when he's just woken up & there is this guy standing there that he doesn't often see - it's like "WTF & who are you" LOL!! Poor guy.
Have any of you thought of or taken bubs to a Chiro or Physio? I hear it can make a real difference if their back or something is out from birth, especially if it was a traumatic one. Someone here has done it & said she has a totally diffent bubs. Often when I pick Charlie up his back clicks & that worries me.
-
hey guys...been busy and not feeling 100% here. Lots of headaches...I wonder if AF is about to return from her fantastic LONG holiday? :crying:
Mason decided all week that he wouldnt sleep through anymore, and would wake once or twice a night, then get up between 5-7am :( Thank god thats over now, and the last 3 nights he has slept through.
We still have trouble getting him to sleep well during the days though. He seems to sleep a lot every 2nd day iykwim?
He refuses to put himself to sleep which is really bothering me. Ive tried everything :(
He is just starting to learn to play on his own which is fantastic, and he laughed for the first time this week!
Hope everyone else is doing well xxx
-
Good Afternoon!
God where has the morning gone?
Me and Beau -
He laughed for the first time on Friday - all those weeks of kissing bellies and necks finally pays off! We have just got back from the shops where he stayed awake in his pram for 11/2 hours without making a peep! He is So curious now...I am still expressing every feed and bottling him - I am working one day a week (so far) and am paying a friend to mind him. This week it will be Friday I think and DH is playing golf EARLY Saturday - so that will make for a tired Saturday for me...wonder if I can convince DH to get up and do the 5-6am feed?
Erin - I tried using the thicker formula for Beau's comp feeds and ordered Y teats online - but he cried the house down - I think the flow was too fast for him. I think now that is the same prob with him on my boobs - its too fast after the bottle for so long. If you tell me which ones (teats) you want I will happily buy them from woolies (I am there everyday almost) for you here and post them to you if it helps you out.
Kel - sorry to hear Lily has been so unsettled - but you got a giggle! good with the bad huh? I am trying to get Beau to roll every tummy time too...
Sammy - Fiji? Awesome! We went there on our honeymoon - Lomalagi resort. It was amazing...you are very brave - but im sure everything will be beautiful! Its super humid so not a lot of clothes required and you need a good bug spray for night time. If I think of anything else Ill let you know...
Kris - Sorry to hear Louis has been sick - god who hosted the BBQ? They must feel awful! we went out to Chinatown on Saturday for lunch and if anyone coughed I crossed the street with him basically!
Christy - I am really interested in how you are trying to wean Hazel from wrapping - Beau cries everytime he gets wrapped now - he seems to hate being constricted! Keep updating ok? I am going to try too once it warms up.
Mel - Congratulations on the harness part time removal on Olivia- enjoy every kick in the belly she gives you!
Adele - Logan sounds like our cheeky one - he smiles even when he is getting upset sometimes...you do sound like you have it all together - I know what you mean about high expectations of yourself - I try and be super woman too - but I feel much better about everything now I have quit work - I try and focus on Beau and I, it did take a little longer for us to bond too so I understand what you are saying - I think its pretty common.
Kaz - Sorry Patrick is unsettled - cuddles to you.
Danni - Hope your headaches arent too dibilitating (sp?) there is nothing harder than trying to look after bubba with a bad one...take care of yourself.
Anyone else I have missed? It has taken me a few days to scroll through all the posts I have missed - but I am fully caught up now!
ps I started this post at 12:30!

g'day all :D
Well DF has bought me a new HDD and is currently formatting it, and loading up Vista. Unfortunately I've lost all the stuff in "my documents" which included our budgets and some edited photos of Patrick. But the originals are with DF still, so that's OK.
Danni - sorry to hear you're still getting the migraines / headaches. Are you able to take the strong meds for the migraines since you're b/fing? I hated not being able to take anything strong during the pregnancy. I saw somewhere on teev that they use botox to help with migraines - wonder if that could help you?
Ack - I have to give DF his puter back so he can fix mine. Dream pretty all!
-
Urgh Danni - I feel for you. I get a bad migraine about twice a year and when they hit I just want to cut my head off. The last one I had I was so sick that I spent most of my time with my head over a bucket but didn't actually chuck. I ended up having to take a Mersyndol and sleeping on the couch. Thankfully Thomas was home so he warmed up a bottle of EBM and fed Logan for me in the middle of the night cos I didn't want to feed him with drugs in my system and there was no way I could have toughed it out.
Kazbah - Our computer has the flu too! The power unit burnt out last week (smelt like popcorn just before the screen turned to 'swarming ants'), the harddrives (we have 2) refused to communicate with each other the week before that and we seem to be getting a lot of Trojan Horse attacks...hmmmm.
JenSam - Yaaaaay for the laughs! They're sooo cute when they give their 1st giggles...and selfishly, it's a bit of an affirmation that you're doing something they like! Logan is mega-curious too. He won't lay down in the stroller anymore, he has to be propped up and inspecting his world all the time!
When are all of you planning on introducing tastes and solids? I plan to bring in a couple of ½ teaspoon tastes each day from about 4 months and work it up to meals by 5½-6 months. What first foods are you going to pick and why?
-
unfortunately its just panadol for me :( yuck yuck yuck! my headaches have eased but now i have the runs. Sorry TMI. im just allergic to so many foods i reckon
Im gunna try and wait till 6 months before introducing solids. when i do im gunna start with vegies. Potato, then zucchini, then pumpkin then carrot. (in that order) Then after a cople of weeks I will introduce some fruits :)

Hi guys- I have been absent on here for a bit, sick kids, bad back blah blah blah....
Erin - i was just reading that you cant get your hands on #3 teats where you are, would you like me to get you some and post them to you??
On the solids debate - i have got charlotte on 2 solid feeds a day alrady and have had for the past month, not coz she was unsettled or anything like that but because she was showing interest in my food when i am eating and making all the right mouthing motions, my MCHN said to go for it and so i did, as she said, every baby is different and will progress with diff things at diff paces! I have a 21 monther that didnt want anything mut breat milk untill she was about 12 months old and i tell you that was a stress!
Charlotte LOVES!! Her food, her face lights up when she sees the spoon, her fav food at the moment is avocado closely followed by banana and rice cereal! I am still exclusively breast feeding but have added in the two solid feeds around lunch time and around dinner, but she gets it after her breast feed! Some days she will eat what i have to offer and others she is just not interested so i am going with the flow as directed by the boss (charlotte)
sory for the rambling on there!!
Can you believe how fast they are all growing and changing? I forgot how it all happens without you realising it, i truly cant get out of my head that she was only born 4 months ago! Also that she will be my last....I'm not sure i am truly ready to close that door!
Best be off!!

Good Morning,
Yes veg definately to start with - I am going to have to fight to keep DH out of the kitchen on that one - he cant wait to feed bubba solids (DH is a bit of a gourmet) - but he does have his whole life to eat them! I am just taking every day at a time with it...and will see what happens - he is very curious watching us eat now which is funny...
I use these fantastic Dr Brown bottles that I got off the net for wind (they have a special tube inside) since Beau was about 4 weeks (he hasnt had wind since - god love em!) and you cant screw the cap down when you heat the bottle up other wise the milk comes up the tube - so last night (1am) I was feeding beau and started feeling wet....I hadnt screwed the lid down to feed - 200ml had leaked out of the side while i was feeding him and covered us both! Sometimes I feel like I am loosing my mind!!!
Have a great day - gotta go express before he wakes up.

Howdy. Boy it's been busy in here! I've been absent , had a weekend on the Gold Coast to celebrate her 30th birthday. She had an apartment at Q1 (the tallest residential building in the southern hemisphere!) so we all stayed there with her and had a really great, decadent and fun weekend. Consequently Hazel's sleep patterns got completely mucked up and I think she got sensory overload too. Really though, she was an angel and has lots of new admirers! I think she is glad to be home though and has been so happy just lying on the rug and chatting to Kevin Rudd on the news!
I have picked up the stomach bug that's been going around and have been as prolific with my pooing and spewing as a baby! I am feeling a little bit better now but have had a rough 24 hours. Thankfully Hazel seems to be ok, hopefully my milk is providing her with protection. Am hoping to feel better by tommorow as I'm meant to be meeting up with my new employer to go through the details and figure out where everything is etc.
Sorry for no personals, hope all is well with everyone x

Hi!
Dylans still sleeping horribly!! At least dh is home to help now...he got up to him until about 4am this morning...it's so annoying though - he went nearly 9 hours between feeds but just continually woke up for the dummy....hopefully it's just because he's got the sniffles...He's only napping again through the day and feeding 2 - 3 hourly - grr! Must be a growth spurt.
Erin - bugger on all the feeds and being up so early...it seems so common for a lot of them at the moment that I'll try not to stress over it...It's just sooo tiring sometimes! Yeah at your dh being home for a few days - I hope you got a nap!
I haven't taken the kids to the chiro...I called up the one Cindy used but they never got back to me...I really must try calling again...it can't hurt to see if it makes a difference??
Danni - Sorry to hear about your headaches...bugger. Glad Mason has settled back down for you again...Thats great he's sleeping through though -you're very lucky! Louis never put himself to sleep until he was about 6+ months old and that was through the day...still needed help at night..each babies different - try not to stress. Dylan does sometimes through the day but nightimes are horrible for us - in fact he's still up sitting next to me after having 4 catnaps all day...grrr! He's so tired but just ends up being a little terror!
Just a note...watch for the potato - when I first gave it to Louis he had a tummy ache...
Jensam - Good for you still expressing and feeding!!! It must be tiring though. Hope you get some rest in before the weekend!
Hehe - it was Cindy's bbq!!! LOL!! These things happen - if they don't catch it of one they'll catch it off another unfortunately!!
Bugger at losing the milk out of the bottle!! Wow thats great that those bottles helped so much with his wind!!
Kaz - Arrgghh - I would die if I lost all the stuff on computer...especially all my silly little files I've collected over time...I've got budgets and stuff as well...grrr.
Adele - I prop Dylan up in the pram as well - he much prefers it to lying down! I actually gave Dylan a little taste of rice cereal today to see how he'd go - he gulped it down!! I'll wait now for another couple of weeks and then start up properly. I'll start with rice cereal, banana, apple, avocado, pumpkin, carrot and then whatever I think of after that - all the rest of veggies/fruit etc. Oh and I also let him have a little suck on some apple yesterday - he looked very excited! hehe. A bit naughty I know but it's all healthy!!
Cindy - Good to see you in here!! Thats interesting that your mchn said to go for it - I must say mine didn't ahve anything bad to say when I gave Louis solids at 4 months...OOh maybe you'll fit in another one before your wedding??? hehehe.
Christy - So glad you had a great weekend! Sounds fantastic! Bugger that hazels sleep has mucked up though...You poor thing being so sick - hope you feel better soon!
Chat later!
-
hey guys...hope everyone is well.
Mason got weighed today and at just over 16 weeks, he is 6.3kg. He is just under the average line for head circumference, height and weight and has stayed steadily since birth so Im very happy that my milk is doing the job.
off to bed now...hope all the bubbas sleep well tonight xxx
-
Wow Danni - thats great! So how long is he now?? Hope you get a good sleep!

HI girls,
Well another unsettled night I just don't know what is wrong! She had three wake ups before I even went to bed and decided it was party time at 3am. DH said he'd let me get some sleep and would get up to her for the night but she just wouldn't settle for him. I laid there listening to him try to get her back to bed after her feed a t 2.30 and I managed an hour before I got up to help. As soon as she was in my arms, she was asleep. Have to give DH credit for trying though!
She's back to not sleeping much in the day time too, grrrr... She is teething though so maybe that's it. I just don't know what to do! She's getting so attached to me, which I know is pretty normal, but still....
We went to have our check up yesterday and also had an 'introduction to solids' talk. Lily is now 7.3kgs!!! No wonder she's so heavy to lug up and down the stairs! She's now 65cm long and hc is 41.5cm. The talk was very basic and nothing I didn't already know. But it was nice to meet people with bubs the same age in the area. Everyone was saying how good she was there, and she was but as soon as we got walking to go home, she started! I had to hold her and push the pram at the same time.
I joined the gym yesterday, and not a moment too soon! I have put on so much weight and I'm sooo unfit! The trainer who assessed me was really nice though and he said he'd done a course about pre and post pregnancy fitness so he was really helpful. I hope I can keep the motivation to go! Maybe the thought of spending so much money will keep me going, hehe!
So good to hear from everyone! But no time for personals at the mo'. Must go and tend to the monkey....she's so grumpy today.
-
Hey everyone, been busy here.
Thanks to all of you who offered to send me the teats, we just decided to go a couple more sizes up (the onese that were available) - he can handle them....just not at night LOL. We tried the hungry baby formula & got 7hrs the first night!!! YAY - but last night was all over the place....prob because we were out for tea until 10pm. He's now at that stage where he doesn't want to sleep when we are out - but at least he just looked around & chatted, better than screaming grumpy.
We are giving Charlie his first try of Rice Cereal today!!! just charging the camera for some first time shots. He's a big boy & definately not going through a growth spurt, so this is the next step I think. Though we will be going very slowly with Rice Cereal once a day...won't be heading to vegies & fruit for a few weeks.
Has any else's bubs found their high pitched voice in the past few days? Charlie is out of control, every morning at 7am just as i'm having my coffee he hits his highest note & squeels with delight for ages. It's soooooooo cute!
Anyone who is interested, check out the SimplyColors websited - they do personalised t-shirts etc. Very cool!
OK got to go, DH has cooked me breakfast YAY. Hope you all have a good day (personals later)

Morning all,
Erin - yeps, Pip's discovered a range of vocalisations too! DF is currently on leave, and I've shown him how to "wake" Pip up in the morning, like when he's still sorta asleep and squirming but not fully awake and screaming. Its just so cute, and when he wakes up and sees my face I get the HUGEST smile! So glad DF is able to see it too ...
As for solids, well, Pip's seeming happy at the moment with his bottle, so I'll leave it a bit before introducing the rice cereal ... then the MCHN has told us "yellow" veggies to begin with, so I guess pumpkin & carrot it is!Maybe I can train DF to eat his veggies at the same time,
Kellie - wow, that's HUGE! My back is already screaming at 6.3kg, so I don't know how I'll cope as he gets bigger. I really hate the carrying the baby while pushing the empty pram! I had to push him up the hill to home after the library yesterday, he screamed the entire way (about 10 mins) and I couldn't carry him as the hill's too steep. Man I wish I could b/f him, it would be so much easier.
Have a good day all!
-
kris: mason is 62cm so still short i think? Mason wore a 00 jumper for the first timer today! it was accidental as DH grabbed the wrong one as we headed out the door. It actually wasnt THAT big lol
-
Hi Everybody...
Just put the munchkin down again after he slept for 3hours today! Miracle for the catnapper of all time! I spent it on the phone and kneading pizza dough for dinner...nice to have a full adult conversation for longer than 15minutes...
Kris- hope tonight is better for all of you at your place - cant imagine doing two little grumpy boys - bless you!
Kaz - I love the "nice to see you mum" grin too - its the all time cutest -Beau seems to be loudest in the middle of the night when DH is attempting to sleep in the room next to us...
Erin - let us know how the cereal goes...what brand is everyone using and how much how often?
Kel - good on you with the gym...I havent joined the mothers group - its a big one at RPA and I have kind of missed the boat now as they start straight from birth and continue on...I dont want to be in a group with newborns now! Beau will look like a monster! He is 6kg (1 1/2 weeks ago so more now I am sure) and is 13 weeks tomorrow.
Christy - hope you are feeling better and your new job meeting went well - I must have missed that post sorry - Is it a good fit for you?
Ok better go fold some washing before it takes over the house!
ps Cindy no offence about the bbq!
-
We tried Charlie on the Farex baby rice this morning & he loved it. He didn't fuss at all, by the third little spoonfull he was opening his mouth ready for it & when I stopped he cried - unbelievable, just like his father he is a big fat piggy!!!!!
Must go, it's DH last day off & we are having a roast..........yummo!!! just wanted to report how that went. We are not going to introduce anything else for ages, just want to see how this goes first.

On the topic of what brands...
I haven't started solids yet but Logan was being so good and happy in the stroller yesterday so I decided to spend some time in the baby food aisle comparing products.
I'm sure you have Nestlé there but do you have Semper? I bought a pack of Nestlé unsweetened corn cereal and a pack of Semper Ecological unsweetened mild rice cereal with banana.
MAN it's amazing how much sugar is added to that stuff if you don't specifically buy unsweetened! I also looked at the gluten free, milk free, etc just to see what they were like and ALL of them had added sugar...SHOCK!!!
I'm going to hold out til 4 months for his first tastes...as much as I want to try them on him now! -and when we do start I'll give him the 2 cereals I bought, potato, sweet potato, carrot, zucchini, green beans, peas, avocado, chickpeas, banana, pear, peach, mango and whatever else I can find that I like the sound of!
I've had a rotten couple of nights sleep. I think the insomnia is creeping back...urgh. I lay in bed until 2.20 wishing I could go to sleep and then Logan woke me at 2.45 for a feed. Then I was mostly awake from 3.30 to about 5 and then I think I slept until 8.30. I was so tired that I felt nauseaous when I got up. I really should try to nap today with Logan but it's one of those 'too many things to do' days.
-
hey guys...we are off to perth for a few days so wont be back until tuesday. Take care everyone xx
-
We've been away again, but back again for now!
Hi Adele! Great to read about Logan and how well you're doing. We don't have that brand Semper in Denmark. As for rice cereals and any baby food, we are organic crazy here - you could try and find some sugar free cereals if you wanted in some organic grocery stores.I think the blander the better from the start as they they don't know about sugar until we introduce it, right? Checked out your photos and he is such a cutie.
