awww kaz  I'll think of you laying awake tonight too
Hi!
Thanks guys - well he's home!! So nice to him back! It's only been 1 weekend but I think it's having him away heaps of weekends in a row thats bad. Needless to say we're off for an early night...hehe.
We had a bit of a better sleep last night...after his 2am feed he slept for 4 hours without waking - but Louis woke instead so I still didn't get a solid sleep in! I can't win - hehehe.
Kaz - you poor thing! Do you have a vaporiser??? I find that helps when they've got the snuffles - especially with a bit of eucalyptus...Might be worth investing - it's been sooo good for us! Hope you manage to get some sleep - may be worth co-sleeping tonight??
Sweet dreams everyone!
Kazz - sorry to hear you've been struck with colds. Get well soon.
Danni -I missed your post about the vivist to the doctor, will go back and check. I trust that things are okay.
Kristie - yay for an early night. I hope the boys behave for you both.
Hi to everyone else. We are having a garage sale here today so I'm a little busy juggling things. Matt has had a few sleeps in the cot in the same room as his brother. They have gone really well and seeing them sleeping in the same room melts my heart.
Well AF is back! I think it took around 4 months last time too. I will have to get more serious about contraception as we don't intend to have another baby.
Kristie, I know wat it is like DP as for the first 3 months of Luke being here. Mark was away a couple of nights a week for work and then for a full week. Which I found the most difficult
Kazz - sorry to hear that the cold has hit your house. I have it this week, which started with one of my tonsils flaring up but won't go to the dr as after having the penicilan after birth and Luke getting mouth thrush etc - so don't want to go back there with antibiotics
Danni - glad that Mason is doing better. I know wat you mean about the 2hr wake up feeds at nite as luke does that at the moment after he wakes up first time round - I think he plays catch up on feeds
Good Crappy rainy morning...(here anyway)
Survived the weekend away in the mountains with my mums (she just got re married at 67 how cute! also they eloped...he he) husbands booming voice loud enough to wake the dead (and beau quite often...) and then a visit from two of my brothers and there kids! We escaped about lunch time yesterday and bubba slept in the car all the way home little cutey.
DH and I had a funny talk last night sitting on the floor with a drink about how the love for bubba is so different from any other love and even tho we love each other to bits and bobs - you cannot describe the love for a baby, the word love doesnt do it justice...weird where these outpoorings hit you!
Deb -I have been having period like cramps for two weeks now but no blood - is this the return of AF too? We are using condoms (sorry TMI) which is weird cause I was always on the pill (for about 12 years -scary) - my GP gave me a prescription for the mini - pill but I dont want to take the pill again for when we try for no 2!
Just checking in to say hi anyway as I must get dressed as its freezing in here! Hope everybody is feeling ok today as there have been a few tough days and nights for a couple of you it seems - big hugs and sleepsxxx
Howdy. Hope evryone's weekends were super!
We had a pretty relaxed one. It rained here all day yesterday, and is still raining now! We need it sooo badly, so it's wonderful and was a great excuse to do very little! I managed to 'escape' for a couple of hours on both saturday and sunday, and left Hazy with DH while I shopped (only food this time, unfortunately) and also went and had a coffee on my own for the first time since Hazel was born. It was kinda nice, but also felt weird, like I almost wanted to explain to everyone I saw that 'actually I have a little girl at home' or something- weird sensation!
Hazel has been sleeping like a dream at night still, but we don't have the day time sleep down pat just yet. It's really random still as to whether she'll go down for half an hour or two hours.......
Jen- sounds like it was probably good to get home! I know Hazel always seems relieved to be back in her own environment after we've been away. No advice re contraception, we are using the withdrawel method (sorry if TMI!) and it worked for 18 months before we actively tried to conceive Hazel (which took only 2 months!!) And should I fall pregnant, well it would be early than ideal, but hey...
Kaz- hope you've had a restful weekend with lots of sleep and that you're all feeling better!
Kris- Glad you've got your DH back!
Danni- hope Mason's feeling lots better!
Iona- HI! Good to see you back on!
Deb- hope the garage sale goes well!
I'm new to this site. only just got net on at home. but it's good to read about other peoples experiences with babies same age as mine, Xavier-Joseph 29/04/07. its amazing how many sites are on here offering support and advice! i was originally trying to find a mothers group or something in my area as my days get a bit lonely with just bubs and me, as my friends either live away or have no kids and are at work.
Hi there Greenfern,
I know how you are feeling so welcome! i walked past my local Gloria Jeans coffee shop about three times the other day with bubs trying to pluck up the courage to crash an obvious mothers group with other bubs our age - I felt like a total stalker and left! LOL! Anyway, you can find great support right here.
xxx
Hi all, and welcome greenfern. I dont have too much to report on. Had a nice weekend, where we had a bbq with the couples we met at the antenatal class. It was great. Olivias doing well, 5 weeks till the specialist review. I am trying to teach her how to roll over, she finds it fun. At the moment shes on the floor having a good old chat to her toys. I havent got my leg master in the post yet... it arrives at the end of the month... and then i am hitting the exercise regime. The weather is lovely here today and is motivating me to get out. To those who are getting AF back, yay, not! Ive been on the full strength pill since moo was 6 weeks old. Think I will be stopping them around December, then we will see how we go then!!!!
Anyway, hope you are all well. Take care
Love Melissa
i know how that feels jen. often see groups of girls with their bubs and i feel lonely being just with bubs. sometimes. bu ti try to go to my basketball every week just so that i am doing something for myself and getting some adult interaction
Hello everyone,
How are you all?? Well we are pretty good. Lily has settled down a bit in the past few days, it helps having DH at home for a few days too. Her teeth seem to have stopped growing, thugh the gums are still hard and I can see the points of the teeth just THERE!!
We went to stay at mums last night, DH wanted to watch the soccer on foxtel, which we don't have. It was nice to have another pair of hands. My brother and his wife were there too with my neice and nephew. They are all sooo in love with Lil. My bro especially, I don't think he put her down all night. I hardly touched her all night, which was nice too, I got to have a lovely looong hot bath, my mum has a big deep tub, hmmmm nice!
We also had friends come to visit from Newcastle who we haven't seen for ages!! Today has been a lazy day at home which has been lovely since it is completely miserable here- raining, cold and grey. I even have the heater on. I had been considering putting it away last week, lucky I'm a lazy bones, hehe!
Ok hold on, I think someone has filled her pants.....
Ugh!! And fill them she certainly DID! That was one disgusting pooh! It was everywhere, out the sides and top of her nappy...She had also vomited in her hair, charming child, LOL! She seemed very proud of herself. I had to give her a bath.
Ok now to catch up, bear (sp? bare??!!...) with me...
Kristie, it's hard when DH is away for a few days huh? I hate it when DH is at work, especially night shift. THen there's those days he goes away to uni.
I'm glad to hear Dylans sleeps have been better, I hope it improves even more for you!
Danni, I'm so glad that Mason is better. Poor little monkey. I know how you feel with the sleeps, Lily is back to waking 2-3 times a night. I hope she goes back to once a night again soon. I can do once a night. She could even sleep through if she really wants, hehe!! Wishful thinking.
Deb, how did your garage sale go? Hope you made a fortune, hehe!
Jen, it's so true that the love that you have for bubs is different from anything else. I couldn't describe it if I tried!
We are using condoms for the first time in ages too, I must admit there's been a few times we've forgotten! Thankfully nothing has happened though...hopefully nothing will, although I wouldn't be too upset if it did, but DH might have a problem with it! I don't want to go in the pill again either due to wanting another bub. I want to start trying again by about July next yr!
Kaz, sorry to hear Patricks sick and you and DH! What a misery your house must be at the mo! I hope you all feel better soon.
Christy, I know how you feel about feeling like you should explain where bubba is. I felt like that today while I was at the Dr. I was watching a mum with her bub there and I felt like I should say 'My baby is at home with her dad'! How nice for you to have me time though, I love my me time, even if it is just going to the Dr without Lil!
Greenfern, welcome to BB and the April 2007 babys! Congratulations on your little man. BB is a great place to make friends!
Ok gotta go, my little monkey is being a little monkey!
Afternoon all!
Colds are mending, and he slept (well didn't scream) for about 9 hours which was good. Poor pitiful little thing!
Jen - I know what you mean about the mini-pill, we're going onto Mirvena IUD. I've had my first period now, had forgotten how horrid they were. So just need the appt for the insertion and Bob's your uncle!
Christy - I had all the sleeps (day and night) all sorted then DF went on leave and now they're all out of wack (grrr). I just want my days back! Dad was rejoicing for the rain, but it doesn't seem to be in the catchment? And I know what you mean about getting out - its like its "stolen" time or something.
Kris - yay on the sleeps and snuggles for you :D Good luck on sleeping in too :D
my dr gave me a priscription for the mini pill but i don't think i'll even get if filled. i have only ever been on the pill once and that was only for about a month. not a big fan of taking chemicals. we didn't think we could have babies anyhow. not without some assistence or something anyhow. but SUPRISE SUPRISE this one shows that anything can happen. lucky us. hoping that one day we will get another SUPRISE!
WELCOME GREENFERN! It takes a while to get the hang of who's who and which kid belongs to whom here but you'll get in the swing of it soon enough. I'm happy to not be the newest in the group anymore too-hehe! We were also told by my endocrinologist that it was doubtful I could conceive without IVF and if I didn get pregnant there was a strong chance that I couldn't go to term. We proved him VERY wrong by getting pregnant in the first month we tried and Logan was born at precisely 40 weeks! -silly doctor...shows you how 12 years at Uni doesn't make you smarter than mother nature!
Kristie, I know just how you feel. The last 3 years, Thomas has had a job where he's away 7 days and then home 7 days and whilst it was fine and dandy when we were kidless, it's a whole new ball game with Logan. It's so nice to have him around to take Logan and let me just veg out when he's home and it's tough to be on call 24/7 in the week he's away. One thing I've found though is that I sleep better (and subsequently so does Logan) when he's away...hmmm. I love having him home all the same!
Urgh Deb, I had very infrequent periods for much of the last 4 years before conceiving (I had an Implanon implant and LOVED it) and of course no periods whilst preggers and I'm not looking forward to it coming back. We'll start little taster feeds this week and I'm guessing it won't be long before he starts eating more food and less milk so I won't be far behind you I'm sure. We're also using condoms again for the 1st time in 5 years and I can't say I'm too bothered by them but Thomas just says quite neutrally that it's 'different'...we'll live! I was also offered the mini pill, but I want to avoid putting synthetic female hormones into my body whilst breastfeeding, especially seeings we have a boy...just doesn't seem 100% to me.
I'm glad to hear you're all feeling better Kaz. We've been lucky enough to avoid any bugs so far but it's only a matter of time. I have my little baby paracetemol suppositories ready to go just in case! I read that kids are meant to get about 6 colds a year for their 1st 3 years so that their immune systems get a good workout before they start school..dunno if there's much science behind it or if it's an old (mid)wives tale but it sounds fair enough.
Logan is 4 months old today and lovely as ever. He's doing really well compared to other babies and the 'normal' standards of development but he's actually gone backwards according to what he could do 1 or 2 months ago. For example, at 2 and a bit months he could easily roll from tummy to back in both dirrections but now, as much tummy time and encouragement and little helping shoves as I give him, he stays on his tummy. Also in tummy time, he's been up on his elbows for months now but has never tried pushing up on his hands. I've tried 'coaching' him a little to do it (coaching, not pushing!) but he just wants to stay on his elbows....hmmmm. It seems off that he'd go backwards or stagnate. I'm going to have a stroll down to the baby center today and talk to our nurse after I talk to Thomas at a bit after 1pm.
He's in an interview and tests in Paris for a job in Hong Kong so we're all holding our collective breaths. I'd miss everyone if we move away but it's such a carreer move that it's all worth it.
Christy, I know what you mean about feeling odd being out without the baby. It's quite lovely at the same time to have a littel glimpse of independant life back though! When Logan was about 6 weeks old I left him at home with Thomas and a bottle of EBM and went for a coffee with a friend. She was shocked and said it took her a good 6 months before she could leave bubs with hubby because of a mix of guilt about leaving and a mild feeling that she was the only one who c ould look after him properly. I figure if you can't trust the kids dad, who can you trust?
Happy news from me....I squeeezed into my size 28 jeans! -not that they fit as they used to or anything!! They look like they're spray painted on and I can't let my top ride up or you see the healthy serving of 'muffin top' spreading over the top of the waistband but I got them on, up and done up and that's good enough for me!!! I still have a good 4-5 kgs to go before I'm back at an acceptable weight but I'm sticking to the mantra, nine months on, nine months off, nine months on, nine months off, nine months on, nine months off!!!
Hope you all had nice weekends, sorry to anyone I didn't PM.
Cheers,
A
Hi!
Dylan had his 4mo immunisations today! Poor little munchkin! He coped quite well but I haven't seen him have all those tears before...It's horrible that it's 3 needles!
Deb - Hope the garage sale went well! No the boys didn't sleep well for me but I'm used to it now! LOL! Thats great you've got the boys sleeping together - the hard part for us is getting them to sleep at night! They sleep well together through the day though...Bugger about af arriving. I thought mine was back but I haven't had one since so who knows?
Iona - Hope you don't get too sick! Gosh I think I'd die if dh went away for a week! I think I'd have to get Mum over to help for a couple of nights to save my sanity! hehehe.
JenSam - Glad you had a good weekend! I agree - the love for your kids is unbelievable...very different to any other love I've felt as well!
Just to let you know my situation...I went on the mini-pill after having Louis at 6 weeks and decided to go off when he was 9 months old to ttc and I fell that month!! So don't be scared of it - it doesn't affect your fertility - in fact quite often they say that the first month or two off it boosts your fertility for some strange reason!! Also only took 2nd cycle off the pill (after being on it for 7 years) as well....I've been very lucky with my fertility!! I'll be going off the mini -pill this time when Dylan 12 months. Gosh...I swear each bubba is taking away my brain cells - hehehe!!
Christy - Good on you for getting out for a couple of hours!! Wow - thats great she's sleeping so well at night! At least she's having day sleeps - LOL!!
Greenfern - Welcome to BB! It certainly is great to chat to people that now exactly what your going through! Congrats on your little boy! Good for you getting out to basketball as well!
Melissa - Glad you had a good weekend. Olivia sounds very happy! I'm struggling to get to the gym at the moment...and today was so nice that I piked and Mum and I took the kids to the park instead. I don't think I'll renew my membership when it runs out as there's too much fun to be had outside! I'm really struggling to fit everything in in a week. I may as well wait until I've finished having my bubbas altogether maybe...
Kel - Sounds like you had a great weekend. A bath sounds nice! Urgh on the poo and spew! hehe.
Kaz - Glad you're all starting to feel better!
Adele - Gosh a week home and a week away would just kill me. I'm sure you do really well though! Wow - what an amazing conception story!! Thats great! What a wonderful surprise that it turned out so easy!!
Just on the mini-pill as well...My dr told me that Louis could take a whole packet and be fine (not that I would let him - LOL!) It's apparently such a low level of hormones that it doesn't do any damage...Not to sure about the details but thats just what she says. At the same time I can't wait to not have to worry about all that stuff one day. Dh is so getting the snip when we've finished having bubbas! hehe.
Wow Adele - good for you fitting back in to your jeans! Hope your hubby gets the job! What an exciting move that would be!
Must go to sleep - chat later!
A little update on the post from 3 hours ago...
Agneta our nurse said that it's absolutely fine that Logan has shown off his skills early on and is now taking it easy. She said he's going through a bit of a growth spurt so he's not advancing as quickly physically. I was sure it'd be nothing but you knw how it is, if you have nothing to worry about, you'll find something!
My little super-grower has put on 1.35kgs in the last month which is shocking seeings he put on only 145g in the month before that! He's grown only 1 cm in this last month so you'd think he looks fatter but if anything, I think he looks longer and leaner. He's now 4 months, 64cms and 7.62kgs with a 44cm head.
Thomas called all breathless with excitement after the interview. He thinks it went really well and is hopeful. A couple of good indicators are that they brought up the topic of 747 simulator tests (he a pilot) and also that the next round of interviews (in Hong Kong which all 3 of us would attend) are in the first week of november...why would they talk about the next steps if they didn't plan to bring him along?!!! The 2nd round interviews include english, maths, simulators and all the normal stuff but also include a 'dinner party test' to see how good a social fit you are in the company...we should do OK! We're both pretty 'normal' and decent conversationalists. A big part of their 'thing' is making sure the pilots aren't just good at flying but have good home lives too and that the wives and kids feels supported and happy with the move because if you're unhappy at home or if your family is having a hard time adjusting then it makes it harder for you to do your job well. -makes sence.
So if we still end up going to Australia in October, that would mean 2 big trips for Logan (and his poor weary mother!) in 2 months...geez, I'm getting grey hair just thinking about it!
Hi!
We had an average night...poor Dylan wasn't happy at all and I had to give him a dose of panadol at midnight! His little cries were different than normal so I new he must have been in pain...he slept with me until his next feed and then I put him back in his own bed. He's been very grizzly this morning so I just put him back to bed...poor little man. Hopefully he picks up soon!
Adele - Thats great all is well for Logan - wow on such a huge weight gain!!! Dylan only put on 440g this last month!!
The interview sounds like it went really well and sounds like a great company to work for to go to all the extra effort! Wow - you would be very tired doing 2 big trips but I'm sure you'd manage!!
Quiet day at home for us thank god!!
hey guys...we put mason in his cot last night! i was a wreck...he is growing up TOO quickly. He was fine in there and still woke 2 hourly like he has for 2 weeks now :(
Off to mothers group for a coffee and donut today!
danni- MY GOSH!!! i don't know how u cope having to feed every 2 hours throught the night!!! Xavier-joseph is a huge pig during the day but from the time he was born he only ever woke up once for a feed at night. now he sleeps right through averaging 8 hours sometimes up to 12!! you are a super mum!!
my bubs sounds like a bit of a fatty! he is now 10kg was born on the 29th of april...does this sound to fatty? he is quite long as well, not sure how long exactly has been a while since i pulled out the tape measure. just depresses me to know that he is growing so quickly. it seems like yesterday that he was born....but now he is only a few months of being half a year old! :(
does anyone know of any mothers groups, or similar, meeting in brisbane? i live out near browns plains...
Hi!
Yeah on the cot! LOl at getting upset - you poor thing! Have a good day at mothers group!
Greenfern - we posted at the same time!
Wow what a big boy you have!!! Sounds like he's doing great! If he's long as well I'm sure he's right! One of the mums in my Oct group had a bubba that was bigger like that but eventually all the other kids are catching up to him! He just hasn't grown as much in his 2nd year iykwim?
Dylan wakes up constantly through the night but only has 1 feed as well... Luckily! But it's still annoying having to get up every 1 1/2 to put his dummy back in...
i have avoided the dummies. but in the morning he sneaks his thumb in for a quick suck then sleeps for about half an hour more. then has a half hour stretching routine to wake up! tripper kid
G'day all :D
Well my munchkin is still asleep after a small feed @ 8amish. OMG< just realised the monitor turned itself off in my pocket!
<back>
He's fed, relatively happy and gurgling away.
Welcome Greenfern! Lovely name - makes me think of cool breezes on a summer evening, with a guitar strumming nearby somewhere.
Danni - I don't know how you do it, I'd be insane by now.
Kristie - ack, dummy replacement annoying!
oops, more crying. Grrr.
greenfern = me aussie: green and gold; him maori: silver fern; bubs = greenfern.....DULL hey
G'day Gals!
Happy bunnies here, another great night. I heard her at 4am but she was 'chatting' and practicing her raspberry blowing, TOO cute! Then at about 4.30 she started to cry and I went in to find her wiggled down to the end of her cot and completely uncovered and cold! Cheeky monkey! I will have to put her in her sleeping bag tonight I think.
Had my second New Mum's group today which was lovely again. There are some great ladies there including two others with English hubbys, so we will try and get the fellas together one day soon!
I was meant to work today but little Gemma is sick with a flu like thing so am not going-don't want Hazy (or me!) to pick it up! Quite pleased (not that she's sick lol!) as it's persistantly raining here again and I'd rather not be out in it.
We got Hazel's Jolly Jumper in the post this morning and she loves it! It's so funny to watch her in it and she's digging being able to be upright and able to turn around.
Greenfern- Welcome to our BB group! I am in Brisbane, in Morningside on the southside. I get together with some Mums I met through the HC and you would be more than welcome to come along - the more the merrier! We are also planning to go to the Babes in Arms cinema showings sometimes. I don't know how far out you are but the offer's there. It's awesome that you conceived so quickly and without assistance! Wow to you big bubba- he sounds happy and healthy!
Adele- Wow to conceiving so quickly and naturally against the odds! Mother Nature sure does know best and you were obviously meant to be a mother. Apparently bubbas will 'forget' things they have learnt temporarily while they are learning new things, but it's all stored away in their amazing little brains for future reference! A move to Hong Kong would be amazing- certainly closer to Australia anyway. I know what it's like to move away, we came back here after 7 years in the UK when I was 7 months pg.. It's great to be back and near my family but it's bittersweet as we REALLY miss our friends, family and life in general back there....
Kaz- Yay on a 9hr sleep! That's more like it! Glad your colds are getting better.
Kris- Poor little Dylan! It's heartbreaking when they cry real tears isn't it. Hazel has her vaccs on Thursday and I'm hoping it won't be too bad.....have got the paracetamol at the ready though. You are doing such a great job coping with having two littlies AND keeping your sense of humour all the while! Don't feel bad about the gym- there are only 24 hours in the day and your boys are more important.
Kel- I'm so glad Lily has settled down for you, poor little sausage.. It's great to have family around to hold and amuse them sometimes, allthough Hazel will cry if I leave the room now except for when she's with DH!
Melissa- It's so cute when they chat to their toys! Hazel also chats to and laughs at the dogs! I wonder what she makes of them? Hopefully the 5 weeks will go quickly til Olivia's assessment and then you will get good news!? It's great that she's still learningroll over etc despite the harness!
Jen- have you signed up at the HC for a new mum's group. It's a pretty random gathering of lots of different people from different walks of life but I'm finding it great. It's saved my sanity getting out and chatting to other new mums and making some friends too. There is also the local mums group thread here on BB, maybe you could check it out if you want to get out and do coffee with other yummy mummies!
Danni- It is such a sad but happy thing watching our little ones grow and develop! Boo to your bad nights, hopefully being in the cot will make a difference!?!
Well this has been a bit of an epic- I must go and do something productive while my treasure is sleeping ;)
Hey everyone, I'm back after MIA for what seems like ages LOL only the wkend! It was Festival weekend up here in Newman, ****tail night Fri, out Sat night, Show on Sun & Horse Races Mon!! (hence the jello shots for the ****tail night). Unfortunately I didn't really get to enjoy much as Charlie has been off colour, crying heaps, not sleeping etc for the entire wkend. I've got my money on teeth moving about, the way he's chomping on his & my fingers is out of control. Ooooh I'm super excited too as all Charlie's hair had fallen out & OMG he wakes up with new hair coming through....YAY!! Now he doesn't just have a mullet!!!he,he.
Welcome Greenfern, wow you do have a big bubs - sounds a bit like Charlie, a big bubba but long too that averages the weight out.
Christy, Jolly Jumper - that's great she's loving it. I want to get Charlie one, will have to order online...we were also thinking about getting him a swing in the next couple months - as it's starting to get warmer I want to spend more time outside with him so he gets used to it. And we can now as DH had the past 4days off & finally put up the fence!!!
Danni, hope Mason is feeling better. Yes they do grow up way too fast & it's a little sad, especially when they become not so cuddly. I would love for Charlie to sleep through, though I do cherish the way he cuddles into me asleep after a night feed. Hope his sleep settles for you soon, Charlie went through that for about 3wks just recently. I hear you on the Mum's group, coffee & donut, just got back from mine today - it makes you feel soooooo much better. Though with Summer fast approaching I might have to cut back on the donuts.
Deb, hope you had a good Garage Sale.....we plan to have one in a couple weeks & I can't wait. I've never had one before, think it will be fun - also will be good to get rid of some stuff.
Wow, trying to keep up with everything here...not sure how I'm going it was super quiet for ages. On the pill subject, had script for Mini Pill then the BF didn't go as was supposed to so got script for normal....have had period 3x now & still haven't got the script filled just due to my being super lazy & worried the I will put on more weight as often is the case with the pill & I'm trying to lose it, not gain anymore LOL. Though I must say it's my own fault, too many Mum outings with coffee & cake think I've put on since Charlie was born, as I put on not much weight at all whilst pregnant & lost it all within a few weeks (BF & Stress I think) so was fitting back into all my clothes.
Adele, PMSL about your jeans. I have some like that....isnt size 28 a 9 here?? I'd love to fit into a size 9 - that's tiny, unless I've got that wrong??
Ok Charlie just had a cat nap & is grizzling again - so I better go will finish personals off later.
Morning,
We had a disrupted one last night - Beau jangles down at 6:30 up at 9:20 (he always sleeps till midnight - thats his long sleep of the day), back down 10:20 up again at 1:45, back down 3:00am then up again at 6:00...I have friends over for lunch today so am running around like a psycho tired woman!
ok good afternooon now - I will finish my post! I think I have passed a windy tummy onto Beau he has been a grumpy pants all day - screaming in front of visitors (and he loves visitors) and refusing feeds.
better run
xxx
HI!
Urggh I think I'm getting a UTI...I'm madly drinking heaps of water..I haven't had one in years!! I have to be careful too because I've got problems with my kidneys...grrrr.
Boys are in bed but Louis is still awake yelling and singing. Lucky Dylan can sleep through it. He'll wake soon for a feed as well...we so have no routine at the moment!
Question - How long between feeds do your bubbas go through the day...we're nearly 4 hourly sometimes but somehow he's still managing to have 5 feeds through the day and 1 overnight...the way it's happening at the moment though is mucking up any routine at all.
Dylan had some banana today with his rice cereal - he definitely enjoyed eating it heaps more with some banana in it!!
Kaz - Yeah on him sleeping in for you!!
Christy - I'm so jealous of your good sleeps! hehe. How nice to already have a day off! hehe. How cute in the jolly jumper! I really must get mine out tomorrow!
Thanks! I figure there's no point getting to worked up! hehe. The calmer I can be the easier it is to get through these hard times!
Erin - Wow what a big weekend! Bugger bubba was unsettled for you though. LOl on the hair!
JenSam - Sorry to hear you had a bad night and an unsettled day...here's hoping for a better night tonight!
Sweet dreams everyone!! Sending sleep vibes to all the bubbas out there so their mummies can get some much needed sleep!
hey guys... mason fed 4 hourly during the day today!! please please please let him go longer through the night tonight! :crossfingers:
I actually dont mind feeding him when he wakes 2 hourly. He has a full feed within 5 mins, so Im only awake for under 10 mins each time thank goodness.
good night everyone xx
the liitle tripper didn't end up punishing me last night for making him have more sleeps yesterday. he slept from 8 to 8 again....hungry little devil now but. he feeds (i think) abnormally often (normail for him but) throughout the day....2 hourly. sometimes it seems he would just prefer to spend all of his waking time on there!!
anyhow hope u all had good nights with all your bubs and that if you're anywhere near me you aren't getting blown away in this WIND!!
G'day ladies :D
Well the boi is doing well, although I'm sure that the needles next weed will upset him just like Dylan!
I swear that yesterday he discovered "texture" with his hands. So we've been going around the garden and he's been feeling bottlebrushes etc, it's too cute!
Greenfern - do you find that sleeps during the day give him better sleeps at night? Also, would I be guessing correctly if you're a rugby / league family?
Dream pretty all!
Danni - good luck tonight!
Kris - we're doing generally 120mls @ 8amish, 180 @ 11am, 150 @ 3pm, 180 @ 6-7pm & 150-180 @ 10:30ish pm. So that's what, 5 feeds with nothing between around 11pm - 8 am. (generally).
Erin - sounds like a hectic, wonderful week. Isn't it great to be no longer preggo and able to participate in stuff?
Jen - oh dear on the windy tum, hope it sorts itself out soon.
Hi!
Had another bad night...Dylans going through a really bad stage. I think he's just sooo attached to his Mummy that he doesn't want to sleep at night on his own.
Had a nice day - went to the park again! The boys had fun.
I went out tonight as I'm now a Body Shop at Home Consultant!! I had a meeting so it was nice to get out of the house but dh said that Dylan screamed for 45min after I left and he had to work really hard at getting him to sleep. I think he just wanted his Mummy - It's all sweet but it does make things a bit difficult for everyone else!!
Anyway...best get to sleep - I'm buggered!
P.S - If any of you in the Melb region want a pampering Body shop at home party just let me know!! hehehe
hey guys, for the past 2 nights mason has been sleeping initially for 6 hours, (8pm-2am) then every hour and a half until about 6:30/7am.
He is FEEDING every time he wakes up but goes straght back to sleep. I guess it could be worse.
Im just gunna have to start going to bed at 8 when he does! lol
Kristie: our playgroup were looking at doing fundraisers. Does the bodyshop do parties where instead of free product you can take the money option instead? Find out for us please. Although we are pretty far from you :(
Hi!
Danni - I'm pretty sure that The Body Shop would not let you do a cash fundraiser...however you could always do a party and then auction/raffle off the products you get for free/or at half price!
Wow at all that feeding - you must be buggered! I'm tired just getting up to throw a dummy in! hehe.
Although after his crying for his dad last night he actually slept really really well! Woke up once around 11pm ish for a dummy and then not again untl his feed at 2.45am - then I put him down and he slept til 6.35! Thats the best in weeks. I feel bad though cos he was probalby exhausted from the crying...I'm thinking he loves his mummy just a bit too much! hehehe. Guess I"m going to have to ride it out until he's bigger. The thing is it's so much better for him as he wakes up all smiling and laughing rather than waking up like he's frightened with big cries...oh who know's???
Gotta run - got to get the kids organised - Louis has gymbaroo this morning! Chat later!
Morning! bub is STILL in bed...12.5 hours. i think he is just lazy! not good for my boobs but! freezer is getting filled with milk but.
Kaz- i thought that sleeps in the day would affect his night time sleep (in some way) but they don't really seem too. yesterday he had hardly any sleep and has sleep all this time and the night before he slept for 12 hours after having several sleeps during the day. i like league his dad likes both but is obsessed with rugby (bloody all black!) as he is a maori. why do you ask? i have the 4 month jabs next wednesday...i hated the 2 montho nes i nearly cried! he hated me for it but luckily as he is on the boob i could put him straight on he and he was sweet.
anyhow i'm going to get him up. this is getting silly!
hope this rain is falling for you wherever you are
Hi All,
Just on the sleep thing. Olivia is doing pretty good. I put her down last night at 9pm and she woke at 6am for a feed and went back down til 830am. Shes been doing that for a while, just one night feed, usually a bit earlier than 6am. When she was first born up until about 14 weeks she was waking every 2 hours for a feed. Am so glad shes decided she can sleep properly.
Heres some good sleeping vibes to all of you.mmmwwwaaa
Well take care, I am about to go shopping for Olivias first pair of bathers:)
Love Melissa
Hey guys, things here are a bit horrible ATM, I'm going downhill fast & poor DH is on NIGHT SHIFT again ahhhhhhhhh, always on night shift!!! Not sure what's wrond with Charlie, thought it could be teeth but can't feel any lumps & gums aren't red. He's up every half hour or so over night & crying all the time - this has been going on for nearly a week & I've had enough. I wish I knew what was wrong so I could help the poor little fella & poor DH I'm taking it out on him. I think I'm about at breaking point, it's times like these I wish we'd not chosen to move so far away from our Family.
Greenfern, YAY on the 12.5hr sleep, oh how I'd love some sleep.
Danni, going to bed early that's what I've had to start doing. I have an early dinner whilst DH is still home then not long after Charlie is in bed sleeping I go to bed too - or I'd be lucky to get an hours sleep.
I've been offered some part time work that I'd really love to take on but have been on the waiting list for Childcare since before Charlie was born & still doesn't look like I'll be getting a spot. Oh well, next time.
Better go, I need an extra strong coffee today.
Erin - Have you seen the Wonder Weeks books? Cause at around 19 weeks or so they go through a really stormy period, that could be what's happening. Or have you tried a little panadol at night for him? That's really made a difference here, I have no idea if Pip's teething or not, his gums aren't red but he's been biting everything, the panadol just helps him sleep. And me too. Or is there casual child care at your local community centre? Ours has 3 hour blocks which allow you to go home and sleep for a little, its great.
*hugs*
I thought we had been through our stormy patch, but knowing my luck this is prob another one...YAY. Oh how I wish our Childcare Centre would do that, I've had Charlie on the waiting list since before he was born & I'm not getting any closer to the top - it's just so hard with DH on night shift, this always happens then. Poor DH got told off when he got to work for not finishing a job before he left this morn, all because I was in such a state & he wanted to rush home & help. He exp things to his boss & he was good about it - oh well, chin up - nothing some choc wont fix!!! LOL (don't need it).
Lately his eyes have been really red, constant rubbing of them & a really snotty blocked nose, thought he could be reacting to something - only things to change lately are starting solids & our washing powder, that might sound silly but I've always had sensitive skin & just used the same one forever, but saving cash we got a cheaper one on sale. So i'm halting the solids & changing back washing powder just to see what happens, I'll give anything a go - he's waking just about every hr or more at night. Oh well we have needles tomorrow morn, that should make for a nice day, not.
Anywho, on a good note we might have sold my car which will be great if all goes through - then we are not paying off two & rego, insurance & so on. Need to save as we are looking at investing in another house. I've also been offered work one day a week at a good rate so happy bout that also, ooooh & i've joined a basketball team - haven't played in 6yrs but love the game.
Hope everyone & bubs are all well.
Can anyone suggest (think there has been before) a sleeping bag cheaper than a "grobag", they look great but so very expensive. I've been borrowing one lately but really need to get our own & will have to buy online, so far all I can find are the grobags.
Hi girls,
I have been reading the threas, but too lazy to make any entries. Tonight I'm too tired, so just a quicky...
We're doing ok, though had a pretty grumpy day today, Lily just would not let me put her down. Have brought some farex but I am yet to try it. Sleeping has been ok. Day sleeps are back to 45mins again, night sleeps still up and down, some good nights some crappy. At least two wake ups though. And usually 6- 6.30 wake ups...grrrr!!
Erin I have a bonds sleeping bag and it's really warm for Lily. They're only about $20. They're not tog rated though like the grobags, just warm, thick material. Though it's hot where you are isn't it? Maybe google them? Or look online in target or kmart etc? Sorry not really much help am I
Ok after that ramble, I'm off to bed!
Sweet dreams, sleep tight.
