    hi all,

yay I am on here thanks milly for the link !!

Lea - hun I love the name and she is gorgeous !!! Congrats hun and sorry I havent been on to say as much before hand !

Danielle - hmmm i hope DH remembers your birthday hun .... and yes i can think of better ways to spend it as well. I wouldnt want to leave Ali with anyone yet either .. I hate being away from her. Have to go to dentist thursday morning and am making my brother wait in the waiting room with her lol ...

Belinda - why hello there !! How funny that all this time we knew each other lol .... looking forward to catching up in here as well. For everyone else Belinda and I were in classes together and only just realised this the other day ... small world hey !!

Kristi, Milly, Kell - hey girls how are you ?? Hope all is going ok ... I will be back on a bit more now I have a semi routine and some time lol ... have been reading posts but not completely up to date ... thanks for the link to here Milly and girls I feel honoured to be welcomed into the group again lolol

we are going all well here - bf sometimes sore and have made about 3 visits to lactation nurses at the hospital but all is going well for now, just Ali was having some unsettled days and not feeding properly so when in doubt chedck !!! Either way I am loving it ... even if she wakes every 3-4 hours atm lol .... and of a morning i find only way to settle her to sleep is to go walking for an hour or so i guess i am getting fit at the same time huh !!

My bro is up from Melbourne so he has been hanging out some days with me and then my dad comes for lunch every Tuesday and mum has been around on Saturdays while DH working. Cant believe this weekend is Fathers Day cant wait to spoil DH onhis first one! It was his birthday on the 27th and I reckon he had the best (although low key) night being a new dad !!!

Anyways my housekeeper is here and about to finish up so best go pay her (gift from my mum for a month) and such a great gift considering post ceasar i cant do a damn thing and it is starting to get frustrating !!

Yay look forward to continuing to chat with everyone and see bub's progress and news from all ....

    Mel
    xoxo

these hydro gel discs seem popular, must go check them out..

ok , i dont know what to do , do i give a dummy or not , gab is very windy , she'll feed but gulp down air and then cry in pain , nothing works and she is only settled when she is on the boob , about every 20mins and then just sucks , not feeds.. she will fall asleep , and if you take her off , she'll wake when you lay her down then she needs boob to settle again ..

ihave a dummy here , a hienz baby basic one , its a 0-6 mth one but its huge , she gags on it and its really firm , so i guess i have to dtry another or , do you think this is a phase that will passs,

    me soo tired
charmalea - Yep the hydro gel discs are great. A+ recommendation. I got mine at BigW. Woolies don't seem to stock them but BigW had them last week for $5 or so a box of 12.

Chloe has had wind also and she will happily fall asleep without dummy when she is "milk drunk" but we've found it very calming for when she is unsettled but not hungry. We found the larger dummies would catapolt out her mouth when she sucked and so the cherry shaped were best and we just got her the Happy Baby dummies ($3 or so for pack of 3) and she likes these ones best. A few have gone flat but at $3 a pack i'm happy to buy more when she needs them.

Belinda we had our babies the same day & only about half an hour apart!! LOL Congrats on your beautiful baby girl
Danielle_M - Oh how cool and thanks for the congrats.. Nice to know someone else who was going through it at the same time as I was.

Melsta - Yep very small world. When I saw Alicia's name I knew it was you..

US - Well we hit a BF snag yesterday, my milk supply dropped dramatically. I went to OB and he gave me script for motilium so see how that goes. One day I was overflowing, next day zippo..Bizarre is all I can say but as a result Chloe has been quite unsettled. Hubby goes back to work next Monday which I'm dreading. I'm trying to work out how on earth I'll do things like take a shower or make myself food as at the moment hubby is comforting/settling Chloe while I do these things. Going to be a whole new juggling act. Hopefully she is more settled by Monday and hopefully my milk comes back with avengence and then i'll be happy.

moan away Nimah , its ok .. baby blues can hit around day 3-4 and last a short while ... but any longer than 2 weeks i would see a doctor , it may lead to pnd .... try going for a 20min evening walk to get out of the house and get some fresh air it will be good for you , dh and Eireann ..

im glad you popped in her actually , i was stalking your pics in the gallery as i noticed that your little girl has got "back" ... meaning she's , er "quite a big one " .. i even stalked the B/A to find her stats ... ( no wonder your girl bits are sore )

have you had your 1 week check up at the doctor , if you still have heavy bleeding its best to get it checked .... but try and rest as much as you can ....
What did she weigh at birth??? and can you share the height and h/c too ?? we'd all love to know ..

and how old are your boys ?? i bet they are keeping you busy too ..

arrrgh what the hell has happened to my left boob !?!?!?!?!?! its sooo engorged i cant even get my sore red stinging nipple to come out ... i am too scared to pump as i dont want to empty it and then get engoreged all overagain ...
every time gab suck at it its like hot pokers shooting through it ... and its tender to touch around the nipple area , im hoping its not thrush ... im sitting here with my boob out giving it fresh air ... i think i did something to it when i had a washable breast pad in and left it too long ... ( i knew i should leave those things alone till my milk selltes and im not leaking ... i couldnt help my self , they are too soft ) and last night i could sleep with my right boob out and gab would latch on herself and i wouldnt leak .. but my left ... oh i dreaded that feed ...i dont know if i should just to to a baby clinic to see a nurse or a doctor for it .... had to take panadol for the pain

    Hi girls,

sorry I've been mia, I haven't been well for a few days, with mastitis. It seems to be settling now though, no longer too feverish and I seem to be able to function today! Liam got his first bath in about 3 days today, LOL. I just couldn't do it before I felt too crappy.
BF is going ok besides the mastitis. It's not as painful as it was a few days ago, though my right nipple is still pretty badly damaged. Liam loves his booby and has been on and off every 3hrs or less. I don't know if he really needs that much milk, but it seems to be the only thing that settles him. I try to burp, jiggle, pat, wrap, dummy....but only booby works.
Ok gotta go, I hope you and your bubs are all well!!

*charmalea* thanks I felt so down last night couldnt think of my mam and sisters with out crying feel a lot better today a good night sleep helps I think ill be watching my self dont want it to go on any longer im flattered you looked up im so slow hadnt put up any of her stats and i must do my birth story make an intersting read lol oh for your sore boob if you do express dont empty it as it fills up quicker try expressing a little before you DD feeds to ease the pain it will ease off when your body adjusts to the baby needs I had that on my last baby so uncomfortable it does settle just keep feeding though

Any way Eireann was 8lbs 8 and a half 3865kgs
    length 50
H,C 36 (on the bigger side) lol I felt every bit of it worth it though

i had a check up with the health nurse yesterday and she is 3559 now has grown 2 cm but her head measured 35 cm that normal may to do with the bit of weight she lost
my bits feel a little better today still swollen feels like pressure on them having showers helps though so ill get there

I asked the health nurse about her belly button the cord bit hadnt fallen off and it was a bit smelly and I dont think water is working on it but she said it was ok any one use any special powder on it to dry it up im a bot worried its hurting her

and she has a sticky eye this morning any thing I can get for that

kellieem you poor thing I got that with my DS when he was about 4 months old never felt so sick but it went after antibotis I remember i had to put my ds on a pillow and hold his hands so he couldnt touch my boob the pain when he first latched on I remember it went quick though and I was able to keep BF so I was happy with that sending you get better quick vibes

Thomas has had a yucky eye too, clears up nicely with breast milk in it every feed. The GP said at his one week check...that there is nothing they do for it unless its still around in 12months time.........

Thomas is 2 weeks old today! Its funny to think he is only due now....

DH away til monday then only home for the day then away til saturday...feels like a long time but am feeling more up to it this trip than the last. Eve has been sleeping in her own bed and only being resettled 3 times a night but dh. I just have to find the energy to do the same now he is away for 9 nights....wish me luck LOL
Grace has been sleeping through in her own bed too as i bribed her with New Macdonalds Farm, Max and Milly show thats on on the 26th september. She is looking forward to taking Thomas to his first show LOL, should be good fun

Good to hear from everyone. Welcome those that are new, Someone mentioned when are the baby blues. I got mine with Grace on day 6, when my milk came in. I think everyone is different. I remember being so proud that i had missed getting them, then wham i was insane for about 6 hrs and i mean totally off my nutter....then one sleep and milk was in and everyone was happy again LOL My DH loves telling the story about it

Going to go and enjoy the quiet, thomas has now gone 4.5hrs so it cant be long before the boobie is required

    Hiya girl,

well we're having a better day today. I'm no longer feeling feverish or sooo tired. Mastitis sux. My bb is still sore and when I feed I get hot poker feeling pains in it. It's also still pretty damaged, Liam pulled off it today still sucking and sucked off a bit more skin as well as the bit of skin growing over the bit he sucked off a week ago. My left bb is sore a little though fairly managable. I was in absoluteltears last night with feeding...again! I just wish it was easy. It was so hard with DD and I though this time I would know what to do and it would be easier, not breezy and not not painful, but not like this, not the in tears sobbing kind of painful again. I'm going to the bfing clinic tomorrow agian to see if they can help. It's the same LC I saw for Lily's problems so hopefully she can help me this time.
    Anyhooo......

Niamh, I can't imagine trying to be a mamma to 4 young children without your family/good friends to support you. And moan away, we're here to support each other.
Thanks for the well wishes. I do feel much better.

Milly, sorry to hear your DH is away for so long. I'd seriously be insane if my DH went away so much. I really wouldn't cope alone. All that cooking, cleaning, looking after kids....the monotony would kill me without adult interactions. Though I am assuming you're not seeing other people much...that's based on my life, LOL!!

Everyone else, hello, I hope you are all well and your bubbas are behaving!

hang in there belinda , you will fall into a rythm that works...i remember with nixon , i hung out in my jammies all day ...
charmalea - Yep rythm is all good just my supply that fell off the face of the earth. All good now and it's back. A day of eating like there was no tomorrow (all healthy tho) and drinking like there is no drought, OH and not to mention some naps (first i took since coming home) and all sorted. Chloe is now settling much easier and sleeping like she's working 10 hour days. I am having to wake her at night after 6 hours to feed or she'd stay asleep up to 11 hours (11 hours has been her longest so far)..

Welcome Niamh to the thread.. Must be really difficult being away from your family.

arrrgh what the hell has happened to my left boob !?!?!?!?!?! its sooo engorged i cant even get my sore red stinging nipple to come out ... i am too scared to pump as i dont want to empty it and then get engoreged all overagain ...

charmalea I'd say express a little before each feed to take the edge off.

and she has a sticky eye this morning any thing I can get for that
Yep give the breastmilk a whirl. I got told the same thing and it works. Just a drop in the eye at each feed. Only took 1 drop to sort out Chloe's eye and if i see it coming back then I just put another drop in.

    Hiya girl,

well we're having a better day today. I'm no longer feeling feverish or sooo tired. Mastitis sux. My bb is still sore and when I feed I get hot poker feeling pains in it. Everyone else, hello, I hope you are all well and your bubbas are behaving!
Kellieem - Chloe does the same thing with pulling back her head with my nipple still in and gave me some great grazes. My LC told me to keep my hand at the back of her head and at the slightest bit of pulling back to hold her head in place so she can't pull back. And if chance I miss the sign and she does it and doesn't let go then detach her and give her a "time out" before putting her back on. LC said she'll learn she cannot do it or she gets taken off.. Seems to be alot better.

    Hi Ladies

Glad to hear everyones bubs are doing well.

ouchy on the mastitis Kel - hope it gets better fast for you.

Milly - hope you get some decent sleep too - i can't imaging coping with dh at the moment - you must be one amazing person!

Things here going mostly well - the bf is now fine after some bleeding and most of the pain has stopped thankfully - i had a great lc at hossy who showed me the correct position with a doll - belly button to belly button and it has worked wonders for me! For saying i fed ds2 for 13 months i never really felt comfy with the position and now its great.

Isla is sleeping really quite well, some nights i only have to get up once, others a few times but she goes to sleep inbetween feeds so im not complaining.

Only downer is that my c/s scar has opened today - went to drs and they have dressed it and given my antibiotics and i have to go in again on Sat to get it checked, it got me abit down as everything was going well and this is such a backwards step, feeling sore and walking hunched again - back on the panadols.

Isla crying for feed now so better go - take care will try and be better and posting in here than in belly budies!!

ouch julie , i hope your scar heals up soon , it must be a sign that your doing a bit too much me thinks ....

on wed i spent the whole day in bed .. it was soo nice , just me and gabby ... and then yesterday we all went into brisbane to ther dfo and shopped for about 5 hrs ... i really needed some new clothes so we went there , i know i will lose a bit of weight between now and summer but i really couldnt hang oiut in maternity tackpants till then !!

gabby is windy one too.. we tried happy baby newborn size but she just gags on them , so i'll try the premmiee size , or avent ....maybe even the nuk shape ...she needs something i get no sleep , i want to help her ease her pain by letting her suckle but she'll drink more and make it worse... i can her her tummy gurgling and i hate seeing her wince in pain

i think this pain in my nipple is called a vasospasm... my left is still really bruised a sore... when gab comes off the nipple its white, and a bit ridged.. so her attatchment must be that great...so on monday when we go for a check up i will ask about it ...

right its about time i cleared up my freeezer space .... what should i do with my placenta??? im thinking of planting it but not sure what kind of plant...

have a good day , and try to rest everyone
