MM - thanks!! just think, if you lived up here you could have your munchkin in the middle of two chickie babes!! lol
I'm working on it!!!!! I keep suggesting places to DP, and he suggested Rockhampton, so I researched schools, housing etc and now he prefers Stanthorpe out of the two!!

My DS1 is the same with my mum (we lived with her til he was 3) but lately it seems as though she just doesn't give a rats **** about our family - we haven't heard from her since March ....

Vic - we don't have one that's close to us (nearest is about an hour if not more away) And we started off with a nice day (had 6 loads of washing on the line!! ) but now there is a storm starting to roll in (with one load left on the line, almost dry!!)

Better go get it before it starts to p!ss down!!

    Hey Mums and bubs

Had a couple of hell days. I have laryngitis, the by-product of my cold which was just awful yesterday, woke up with no voice. Jett mustn't have been feeling too terrific either cos he just kept chucking tanty after tanty full of screams. With me not feeling well I just didn't have the patience, every time I would settle him and put him down he would be awake 2 mins later screaming. Feeding was no fun either - on, off, on, off, on, off etc. Aaaagggghhhhhhh! I ended up calling my Mum and she took the afternoon off work to look after him while I slept. It was such a godsend. But now today she is sick....oops!

This morning he was ok but just wouldn't go to sleep. I went to an ABA meeting and he just kept crying when I held him. Lucky there were plenty of volunteers to give him cuddles and settle him. But every time I took him back he would wake up!!!

But he is now in my arms, fast asleep and has been for at least 3 hours and looking angelic as usual

It is a gorgeous day here too so I also got a load of washing on today, just hasn't made it to the line yet - bugger cos it is the nappies too which need extra line time! Luckily the weekend is supposed to continue to be fine, with Sunday forecast for 28 degrees.

    Immunisations for Jett tomorrow.

I am jealous of all you girls meeting each other. When I get up there next you are all going to have me darken your doorstep, so look out! Actually DH and I were talking about what we are going to do for Christmas holidays this year and are considering a road trip to QLD, so you never know!!! So I can come past the blue mountains on my way MM!! Not sure who else is on my way, but it will have to be a separate trip to SA I'm afraid!

I was like well where do you want me to put it??? In his mouth she said. Ahh dir o.k but then i was Like what if he spits it out youll be fine just put it at side of mouth. Hrmmm Dont like nurses like that!! She was so GRRR oh i could continue on and on about her but i wont!!

o.k maybe a bit she wanted to weigh him fully dressed and im trying to explain how important it is he is nuddy and she was not listening he did get weighed and umm GRRR he did get weighed in nude in end.

    JOSSHIE LOST 50 GRAMS.

what can i say dr already had just told me i am over stress over all this and its making me depressed and wants me to talk to some one about it. how much lower could i feel honestly shocked, disappointed, gob smacked, what more can i say i am just WHAT NOW i am so angry. REAL ANGRY!!

Dr said that his heart murmur was gone YAY!! He said go buy a new breast pump TODAY and stop procrastinating pretty much hahaha i like this dr he is GREAT! so we went shopping in end we didnt get one took up all your ideas and bought a breast shield just incase that works. Well does it, well i dunno but what i do know is i fed josh for worlds longest 35 mins and no detaching It may be a winner yay!! we will know on weigh in day.

O.k also the 3 year old has Chicken pox so if anyone wants it come visit me asap!! Not only that but dr said the spots ive been coming up with looks exactly like the 3 year olds. hrmm yeah so we wait i have had them before tho so yeah we wait. the 3 year old is crashed out on lounge floor he must be so buggered.

O.k nipple shields i say to the lady today in chemist how do you know what size is best she said well is your nipple small or large? Ahhh I dunno whats small, whats large, wheres the size measurement chart? She was like well there isn't one. Honestly how do you know what size ya are??? hrmm i don't know who even thinks of this ever in there pregnancy life? and breast feeding journey? Hrmmm have you all i havnt. Whats the average size, whats normal i don't know? Am i normal how do i know? What size do i pick? Wow its all so hard hey!! small or large there my options!! what about first time moms this must be incredibly frustrating? What nipple size are you? Whats the average ? these are all questions i am baffled with. Are you ment to measure with millimeters why doesnt it say on box for this size nipple? well whats the deal with that!!

O.k another thing anyone noticed that the maccaroni cheese deluxe sauce has changed tins and sizes? and looks diff i have i havnt tasted it but after all these years why change a good thing? WEll my eat is cooked gotta test this out.

Squidipa - about nipple size. I was the same when I first got asked by the lactation consultant for me. I was like 'I don't know, what is big, small or average? '
Luckily I was in the hospital and she looked and said try the small and if it doesn't work she would swap it for the large. What size did you end up getting? It will rub on your nipple if it is the small and you require the large. There will be lots of room around the outside of your nipple if you got the large and require the small. HTH!

lol cant blinkin win can ya,
I got the pigeon bran as it didnt have small or large so figured it might be medium or the average what ever that is. I was so baffled by this i was still converstaing with hubbie ages after and the lady in the post office asked what i was so confused about and i said i might offend you.... are you sure you want to know. I whispered it to her and she said I don't know what i am hahaha so how does the average woman know! Iam thinking i might email the companies and find out their views. Was gonna get the one Vic got but couldnt view the product first and it was security sealed so didn't want to buy something that may not work. For the record my nipple is 1.5 across and the areola is 8.5cm!! not that these measurements would have helped much.

I dont udnerstand why he weight loss but i hope thsi helps

I would say you are a large then! Which brand did you end up getting then? I'm sure they all do the same job, but my thoughts would be the large in Medela brand which is what I have as well.

Yoou can only but try them, and it will be great if it turns out that it was an attachment issue all along. But bear in mind your supply may have dropped a fair bit if he has not been draining your supply effectively, making your body think it doesn't need to produce as much. So it may take a little bit to build up again. Expressing would be a good idea if this is the case. But also give the Australian Breastfeeding Association a call, as they can help you how to build your supply back up again if need be. Their number is (07) 3844 8977 or (07) 3844 8166 or e-mail them here HTH

Big Hugs Squidipa for the loss of weight, sounds like the shield is doing the trick, at least he can now stay on!! yay!! You should borrow a breast pump, was it Mel that mentioned she had one you could borrow? And try some expressing tog et an idea what your supply is like, but please remember that you will never get as much out with a pump and Josh can get out by sucking.

With the pumping I would recommend just pumping after each feed to build up enough to see if you can get a full bottle/feed I would recommend 120-150ml for Josh, it may take a while as it depends on what your supply is, and please don't get disheartened if it isn't a lot, as after a full feed I hardly get 5-10ml, then try a full express and give him the bottle instead.

about nipple size!! I was in hospital when I got one, I am large

You can join MT and mine expressing parties each evening! We express, discuss what we have expressed, what has been different about that day. etc.

Got an update on my SIS, she will be in for at least 5 days, they had given her drugs which hopefully prevented a full blown stroke, but they are still not certain what is happening, all the sympotoms are identical to the last time she had a stroke (a couple of years ago) so it is jsut a waiting game at the moment.
Thankyou for you I really appreciate them!!

Gotta take the washing off the line before it gets cold and i have to leave it out for tomorrow!

vic- what a huge weight gain you must have switched on your full cream booby milk!

Sorry for the lack of personals i'm pretty tired we spent all afternoon at the hospital DF had a massive fall down our front stairs. The hospital was soooooo busy they apparantly had a few fatalities this afternoon. We never heard the results of his xrays as we would had to of waited 7 hours!!!!! theres obviously nothing broken and he's strong and not showing any pain or discomfort but I know he would be hurting. boy did he scare me

Big to your DF Kel, OMG can't believe you had to wait so long, I hope he is resting up, icing what needs to be iced and taking some panadol/panadeine and if anything goes wrong get his checked out again straight away.

I think it is the F top ups But not long to my appointment with the Motilium Dr - yay!

    *EDIT*
Oh yeah, and squidipa - Nakita has shrunk too!!

18 days ago she measure 56cm, today she measured 55.5cm!!! First time her growth has stalled, but she'll be right!

Oh and we decided on a swing, the Fisher Price Rainforest Cradle swing, goes up to 11.3kg, so will still get quite a bit of use out of it, we are getting it Wednesday as it officially goes on sale Thursday but we can get it Wednesday, $50 off. DH saw it and loved it more than the Ocean Wonders, and said, nahhh get that one heaps better! Just gotta send another invoice! *END EDIT*

GEEEEEEEEEZ you guys can talk! I go to sleep for one night and come back and already I feel behind!

mm, don't go to Rocky. It's a hole. Actually, if you go up on the mountain and looked down the lights spell HELL (how do I know? Thats where Shel proposed! Nice huh! PMSL!). We go there every year to visit friends of Shel's (she used to live there, but she smartened up and moved to the Sunshine Coast lol), and you know how people say 'nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there'... its not even a nice place to visit!
LOL, sorry to anyone who thinks it is, I'm just not a fan!

Mel, LMAO I don't vacuum unless I'm going to mop either. Although my excuse is that I don't WANT to mop, so I'm not gong to vacuum because then I'll HAVE to mop lol. Anyway, if I leave it long enough Shel does it Awww thats mean of me, I do do it most of the time.

Shell, lucky duck living with your parents... well on the most part anyway LOL! Of all the crap we went through during the pregnancy I wish I lived closer to them now They did what everyone said they would (I'm still in shock...) and they are fantastic. I just wish we could see them more. They'd be more bloody helpful than Shel's family who, for all their talk about helping etc, don't even come to see us unless Shel is home. SIL dropped round my birthday present and left the other day, didn't even bother to say hello to Jazz, didn't ask if I needed anything. I guess the novelty of a new baby is gone once they hit 2 months huh?

MT, we'll have to organise something when you come for a holiday!

Vic, I'm so sorry to hear about your sis I hope she is ok! :yay: for the gain! And for the swing! Hope Nakita loves it!!!!

squidipa, so sorry to hear about the loss, but I'm glad he had a good feed afterwards and I hope it keeps getting better. I should send Shel to you, she's never had chicken pox!!!! I had to laugh on the nipple shield conversation, I do wonder how straight woman know what size their nipples are in comparison to others! Not so hard for me but it does seem silly thats theres no 'sizing' help on the packet! (if anyone cares to know I'm a large... although I never used to be!! Joys of motherhood!

Kel Glad hubby is ok, what a scare! BOO to the hospital, everyone always says to me Caboolture is great for maternity, not so great for anything else though! Which is sad, wish Qld Health would get their act together, 7 hours just isn't good enough!

OMG I'm close to killing myself. I have a toothache and the ache has spread to my jaw and ear. And panadol does NOTHING, teething gel barely does anything, clove oil tastes like crap, listerine stings, gargling with salt water is yucky and punching myself in the jaw just makes it hurt more And I have done all of them (anyone whos had a toothache will know that in irrational toothache logic punching yourself in the jaw sometimes seems like a good idea...). My next step is to get the pliers and rip the f-cker out myself!!!!!! Jazz slept through Thursday night, about 8.30pm-5am, but I had to get up because of my stupid tooth.

OK, worst mummy is going now. Jazz is sitting her next to me in her rocker looking so bored, though she's whinging... she probably could use some interaction. I'll have to go tire her out so she goes down for her nap.

I have a question for you guys. Would you move for money? When I finish my early chidhood degree, in 12-24 months depending on how motivated I am lol, I am going back to work and Shel is staying home with Jazz. There's always work for me, but in some places the work pays WAAAAAAAY more than others, like in Melbourne. Melbourne pays well for my specialty, as does west Sydney... more than up here. Would you move for work? Away from all family and to a completely new place, but it would offer a better lifestyle for Jazz... We'd be able to afford to pay off a mortgage down there on what I would earn. Not as easy in a job up here.

mm... did I mention Rocky SUCKS big time!

Hey everyone..... We're back from our holiday!
We had a great time, just relaxing and doing nothing. Highly recommend a few days in a nice hotel (if you can afford it and find the time) so you can just relax with no cooking cleaning etc and just enjoy yourself!
We took a bunch of photos which you can check out here.
So - I tried to catch up on all the posts, but there's quite a few
Squiddy - I'm sure you're doing a great job, josh looks healthy in all your photos, and that's what's most important. babies grow at different rates, and as long as he's healthy, alert and going through nappies he will be fine. You're doing a great job - keep up the good work.
Leash - lucky you having a meet up with Mel cute pics
    Mel - mwah!
Vic - so sorry to hear about your sister she's going to be OK
About the rockers, Beth absolutely loves hers! We couldn't take it away with us, and when we got home I put her in it and she bounced away with a big grin on her face. She couldn't have been happier - bouncing herself in her rocker, watching the food channel and sucking her dummy! Baby bliss! LOLOL Seriously the rocker chair is one of the best things I've bought for her, ours was $50 from Kmart on sale, its a FP one too - but nothing flash just a basic one, it doesn't swing or rock, it just has vibrations but she can rock it herself by bouncing up and down.
Mel, I don't need to research "Toddler Tanty Town", I'm currently living between there, Preschooler PITA Place and 7yo Psycho City!!!
    - MM at this!
MT - glad you and Jett are feeling better!
Hi to everyone else - have a great Saturday!

Welcome home Pixie - great to hear you had a good time!

Well last night was a bit of a mess. Kye woke up 3 times - two he was hungry the other time was cause he'd kicked all the blankets off, like $hit hehe

He has been unsettled this morning too; usually goes back down at 7:30am but it was like 9:15 by the time he had finally given in (had to use the dummy)

Squidipa - for 35 minutes, you must be sooo happy! Keep persevering with it hun, if it keeps Josh happy and means you are less stressed then it is worth it.

Well I thought I would have a bit of time to myself for a while but nope the man has just cranked a tanty LOL so must go........ toodles!
