Hi all, I'm still here!! I've been reading but haven't had much of a chance to be replying - Master V has reverted back to velcro-baby when he's awake!

Leash - hun, you know what's best for your little girl! My DS1 started on solids at 2 months old - the ECHN had an absolute hissy fit at me, but HE WAS HUNGRY and feeding ALOT, I needed a break from just holding him and feeding!! Plus, he did the same thing as Jazz - "chewed" and swallowed - he was not a messy eater at all (in fact, he was the neatest eater of our mothers group, and the youngest!) The only thing I did was steer clear of egg til he was older. He's nearly 8 now and no probs!

CM4E - wwwoooooohhoooooo you're married!!!! Hope you don't mind me hooking you up with Rachel on FB??

Mel - I think there's something in the air with moving And 3am wake ups!! V wakes up for a feed and when I go back to bed, he just lies there talking to himself, and then he starts sucking his thumb really loud!! LOL!

Squidipa - hun, I really don't know what to say, except I'm here for you

Vic - yay for Miss N's growth spurt! When I do use the pram, it is half reclined because more often than not, it has a toddler seat attached to it! But we have a big thick lambswool insert in it as well, which the straps of the pram don't fit through!

Pixie - DP decided it wasn't worth changing jobs to move to QLD even though we tossed around other ideas, we're pretty set on the bottom of the mountain now ... Oh well, he's the main income earner, gotta stay where it close to work and the money is for him I guess ....

Big to Kel, SB and everyone else (sorry if I missed you!)

OMG Rach, I just read it too I hope that her family have loads of support around them right now, my thoughts are with them I can't even imagine what they have gone through and to be so strong and coherent enough to journal it all!

That would be one of my worst nightmares Rach, my thoughts are with them ...

Mel, wish I had seen your message earlier! Would have invited you round My sis is coming up to stay Mon-Thurs next week, but we could get together the week after? What is the week after... December? Holy crap!

Vic, our pram has a 3 part recline, and Jazz has been sitting at halfway for a fw weeks now... not many, but since she has been able to lift her head up herself. She likes to see whats happening. She still lays a lot of the time though, we only sit her up if she's lifting her head trying to look.

mm, thanks so much for that, makes me feel a bit better, yeah we are only feeding veges (potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot) for now, will start rice cereal in the new year at 5-6 months. I'm still not sure if its right, I guess I feel tied to the 'guidelines', but she's almost 4 months so I figure if she loves it might as well encourage her love for veges now while she still wants to eat them LOL

Her eating-sleeping has actually been better today (of course, the day after I make the CHN appointment, and the day I start journalling it again ), I feel great, and just hoping come Monday I don't have anything to talk about. Doubt it will happen, I'm sure this is just a one off day but I can dream right...

    Can I have a vent...
I told my sis and SIL and PIL and parents NO TOYS for Jazz. Not because we don't want toys but because thats something WE want to get her, we want to decide what we think is crap and not crap IYKWIM (especially my parents, and PIL, who have no problems with shotty Silly Sollys toys), but I have just heard that they have ALL been shopping for toys. ANNOYING! Its nice, but i wish they'd stuck to what we agreed on, books, DVDs, clothes or money (for us to choose her toys). GRRRRRRRRRRRR! At least my sister has mostly books, clothes and DVDs... she just couldn't help herself I think with the toys, but SIL apparently has apparently bought upwards of $300 worth of toys (most of which will probably be crap like the stuff she's given us now. Useless lumps of dust collectors...).

Geez i'm a cranky bum... Mel, I have no idea why you keep wanting to visit me

leash - cos I live with a cranky bum - so your cranky bumness doesn't require me picking you up and carting you all around the house. Thats why

We told the IL's no xmas presents for DS - first year of his life - all these presents - all toys... People are just gonna get you whatever the hell they want, not what you have asked them to do.

Do a good deed - donate them to the salvos or something

Ah Mel, I'm cracking up at the image of me handing back the toys to MIL (who works at the Red Cross shop).

Leash, hun, I so understand your vent! We told IL's that we were getting DD & DS2 bikes for christmas, so what do they do??? Go and get them bikes! Stupid f***ing idiots! Plus they brought them up TWO MONTHS AGO!!!!! Funny thing is, we don't have a flat yard so the kids don't ride them anyway

They've also told us that they've gone crazy buying stuff for the two little ones, but we have the same prob - they just buy ***** that breaks in 5 minutes and they buy crappy clothes too!! MIL even tried buying me clothes once - rocked up to our house with a couple hundred $$$ worth of clothes IN HER STYLE!!! Come on, guys, I'm not in my 50's!!!

Truth be told, I'm very pedantic in what I wear, and also what my kids wear and play with! So much stuff has been either chucked or donated!

    Two missing in Caboolture River

    3:24p.m. 19th November 2008

    | By Kerryn Manifold

Authorities have launched a search for two people who have been reported missing in the Caboolture River.

Emergency services received reports that seven people found their way into the water about 3.20pm.

Five members of the group were soon found in the river at the bottom of a cliff face and firefighters are staging a vertical rescue.

The search for the remaining two people is continuing.

It is not yet known how the group ended up in the water.

o.k now a sis aid i cant catch up but i do have something to say briefly

She grew 3.5cm in 12 days!!!
    And she put on 370grams!!!

EDIT** WHO HAS CONVERTED THEIR PRAMS FROM BASINETTES TO SEATS? IF THEY HAVE THAT OPTION? THE SEAT ON MINE FULLY RECLINES
I havnt yet done that with my pram as myn fully reclines thats probably as we dont ever take it out of the house. Congrats on the growth spurt

Pead today said his weight and hight / length are both very low but both are fairly consistent with each other. he is concerned after measuring him again with this extra snazy length measuring thing that he has defently only grown 6cm's since birth. After all tests done so far came back clear he said it needs further investigation and has asked for more tests today he had his first xray. Sorta sad really to see him there and as they took the first pic it covered his whole shoulders spine and pelvis he looked so small. he was very well behaved.

the dr has some thoughts as to what it could be and he shared them with us but i am not going to worry about that till we get results mind you its hard waiting for results plus i have to wait two weeks to see him and get results.

dr said do 6-7 BF feeds daily every 3 hours for example and 300 mill of formula given twice to 3 times day making that eithor 150 ml twice or 100ml 3 times
gotta go my heads gonna explode with the noise here.

I do hope they find them

thanks, you guys are awesome. i have been finding it so much harder to deal with having my own baby, y'know? it's just not right for a family to go through so much suffering, but it amazing to see how many people's lives she's touched and made so many parents say they're not going to take their kids for granted.

leash LMAO at your MIL at the red cross shop! that sucks they didn't listen. leash + mm + mel: i'm kinda funny about some toys/clothes - i've been given a few things i wouldnt have E wear out (mainly bibs with silly sayings e.g. "before you ask, YES i am a boy") and i really really don't want him to have those crappy phase toys based on the latest movie that's out that break quickly. DH + I invested (heh) in tonnes of lego in the 2 yrs before E was born.. classic toys like that i love and books, can't get enough of those. E is just getting one book from us for christmas this yr, it's not like he's going to know any different heh. can you re-gift them?? lol.

vic - YAY for N's big growth spurt!! that's fantastic, hope the shopping went well after such good news!

squidipa - do you know the people missing? that's awful news for whoever it is and, another big hug for the stuff you're going through. i'm glad you're being strong and choosing not to worry about that stuff before you know.

everyone I was going to post last night but was distracted when I saw a bolt of lightning I thought cool another storm then a HUGE crash of thunder came and I jumped through the roof and quickly turned the computer off.

Squidipa- How did you guys go through the storms? and sorry to hear about another weight loss Have any of the "doctors' or "health proffesionals" suggested anything?

I don't know how many times people have to told not to swim in swollen rivers or drains those kids that were caught in the river here in Caboolture don't have my sympathy

MM- I thought I was the only padentic one out there when it comes to the kids clothes PHEW! If I don't throw or donate the daggy clothes Cadence finds them and will ALWAYS dress herself in them

Sorry for the lack of personals there is another storm on the way and I have a HUGE headache

As Leash said we caught up at the holding hands morning tea Jaz is just gorgeous, I was a little sad to know that it was the last time I will get to see Anne our midwife she was sooooo nice and helpful it amazed me how they all remembered you and the details of your birth.
Allegra now has a new trick she pushes with her legs and slides on her back its soooo cute until she hits her head on the top of the cot

    Hi Everyone,

Been a really busy week for me so I haven't been on, sorry! I just thought I would drop in quickly to say hi!

Jett has been an angel all week, except for Monday (did I post on Monday? Did I tell you his weigh-in details? I can't remember! ). He has really found his voice this week and is constantly talking. Has learnt how to project it too!!

Went to the movies yesterday - mums and bubs session which was really good. Jett was a very happy boy through it too - did start to have a loud chat so lucky it was a comedy and it wasn't a quiet/sad/romantic part!!

I pretty much slept and fed all day today so nothing to report there! I do feel much better for it though!

Glad to hear you are all safe up there in QLD. My aunt lives in The Gap so when we heard their area was the hardest hit (and it certainly looked it on the news) we were a bit concerned. But they are all ok too, a tree did come down on their new caravan, but big deal - it can be replaced and no one was hurt.

    Ok, I'm off to bed...goodnight!
