Babies Born August 1st ~ 15th 2008 #7

josiah is one of these babies that doesn't really stay to a consistent pattern and is up at night about 4 times now and thats from 11 to 5 5am is his im up for the day time. from 7-11pm its very restless time. he doesn't always sleep in morning sometimes just a few mins i managed to just get him off now... But i think he will be up in 30 mins and then that's it till evening. I know its hard and full on but i am sure it will pass. We have all had those weeks that last for what feel forever.

As long as u and hubbie have each other then that's all that's worth celebrating on valentines day. We too didn't go out or even have any special meal i had pancakes for tea nothing uncommon there .... Hubbie had lay-buyed me a sapphire diamond ring from 3 months back so i got that but nothing else no chcoccies or flowers or anything else. and I DONT MIND.. we are tight with cash hubbie is been outa work for months now and its a bit tough and ild rather be spending my money where its really needed. And he is not a citizen so there is no money coming from cenetrlink for him and i don't work. But all in all it a alright day nothing fab but alright. My ring is lovely tho but took us a while to pay it off tho.

Yeah bec- i have the same supportive worka holic husband.. oh hes not too bad- but he has his moments, like last tuesday, Shane slept for all of about half an hour ALL DAY and i was just at my wits end, DH comes home early for a change "yay i think i will get a small break..." um no... DH decides to have a FRIGGIN FOUR HOUR NAP!!!!!!!!!! sleeps thruogh Shane crying and whinging for four hours until i went in there and literally dumped Shane on the bed, and said "Babe- wake up i need a break" he was not too impressed and later told me that i am a mum and its my job to look after him and if he has a bad day i am supposed to just power on through.. needless to say i mentioned a few words about how there is such a thing as a FATHER too!!!

I still feed shane to sleep- he doesnt know the meaning of self settle- but he is pretty good when it comes to putting him down- he opens his eyes and looks around and goes "yeah ok im in the cot" rolls on his tummy and goes to sleep. If he happens to wake up it only takes a bit more of a feed and he is back to sleep- i find its easier just to hold him for a bit once he has pulled or dropped off and check he isnt wanting to go back for seconds and after 5 or ten mintues i put him down- or if he starts to wriggle like he is uncomfortable in my arms, i put him down. works for us for now anyway!!

Oh and we didnt do anything special yesterday either!! DH worked and we didnt even get around to having dinner at all let alone a fancy romantic one!! lol I had cereal and DH ate a whole packet of chips!! lol

Not much happening here for us- i have decided its sunday so bugger the house work, i am eating cookies and playing on the net while shane sleeps!! I am a bit over running around doing all the housework quickly in case he wakes up!! It can just wait til tomorrow!!

Oh we have started swimming lessons once a week- he loved it last week! He can splash on command and we are learning to blow bubbles and he even put his head under already!! We might have a future swimming champ here!!lol

Huge hugs to so many of you having sleep troubles atm :grouphug: They are learning so many new things at the moment, that I think once they hit a few milstones they will settle back down. N doesn't sleep as much during the day, but everyday is different... they always sleep when you don't want the too and don't when you do ;)

We did celebrate Valentine's Day, Dh decided that I deserved to be spoilt, I used to make an effort, even it it was just cooking his favourite meal, or making a card or something simple. But I was very surprised as I hadn't expected anything, although I was warned not to plan anything other that N's swimming lesson. We are also making an extra effort on our relationship atm, as we both got caught up in our own worlds and realised that we weren't spending the time together that we needed to, and we are both much happier for what we are doing :)

We are also planning the next bub, we are going to aim for September/October next year, which means TTC at the end of this year, hoping we get about 2 years between bubs, allowing for a bit of extra time incase we go early again, but will be thrilled if we go FT 50:50 chance :)

MT: the devastation in your area is so heart breaking, but the stories of courage and good will are just so heartwarming, the whole country is behind your community :)

Pixie: N sleeps very well in the car, but we havn't had to take her for a drive to go to sleep, I guess we have never thought of doing it!!

Mel: the shop looks fab, I hope tonight goes really well!! What is launch time again? Oh I should check my FB hey!!

SB: yay for the swimming lessons, N loves it too, although she wasn't as in to them yesterday ;)

Sasha: Can we please have some of your rain too please, we have had 1ml all year :rolleyes:

OH ladies, thank you so much for the rationalisation!!! just what i needed! your all right of course! Just one of those thing...developmental....learing about the world...etc, but thanks for letting me vent! and for the hugs! amazing how much it helps!!
Its also good to know that others are still feeding to sleep, i keep getting told its bad, but if it makes her happy then stuff it! and she went down ok tonight...sometimes i think she just likes to give me a wake up call so i realise that most of the time i have it pretty easy!!

MT: your so right about just letting the other stuff go and focusing on grace, i do do that normally just sometimes it all gets on top of me! Jett sounds like he is enjoying being out and about! its amazing watching them discover the world for the first time isnt it!! :lol: about the regular poos!! atleast you know when to be ready!
Squid: the ring sounds lovely! we werent really bothered about V day either! we just said 'happy v day' to each other ...that was enough for me!:D
SB: big hugs re: DH not helping out! sometimes they just need to be told that they have to help out at times too! I know my DH works very hard..hes done 50+ hours this week, and he needs a break after work, but hes learnt now that there are times he HAS to help! :lol: Good on ya for having a relaxing sunday!! and the swimming lessons sound great!
Beema: glad someone got "wined and dined and bathing in rose petals" hope you had a great night! your very right what you say about putting more time into your relationship, we need to try to not just float through the next six months! very exciting that you have decided when to start ttc!!! we talked about it the other week and kinda said June/July 2011 so that would meen ttc about Sept/October 2010 . a baby and a 3 year old! we can olny hope!

We went to a fund raiser on the river today, was good to see everyone banding together! we managed to raise about $130 just me and two friends, if all the people helping raised that much it will be great! just want to help in any small way.

Pixie - sorry, I had to have a chuckle ... DP keeps me awake with his snoring too, and Veygas has been a bit grizzly over the weekend. He has decided that now he has teeth, he can eat ANYTHING, so he has gone from nothing to handfuls of whatever he can grab! :rolleyes:

SB - sometimes that happens here, but not often ... only if DP has had a hard night (like recently with all the torrential rain between Brissy and Sydney) he has to drive harder, so he is more tired when he gets home in the morning, and then I have to keep a 6 month old and an almost 3 year old amused and quiet (well Veygas sleeps for a fraction of the time that DP does) but on the plus side, DP doesn't expect that much from me on days when he is home ... and occasionally he helps out around the house, so I guess I can't complain! ;)

Mel - DP is on my back however, re: making nappies!! Hence he bought me my overlocker! :rofl: Love your store too chicky! :hug:

Bec - :hug: hun. I have to agree with the others in G's behaviour being developmental ... my 1st born was like that from birth though!

We didn't do the whole Valentines thing ... I think for the next few years I'm gonna get "But I got you a house" for just about every celebration! :nahnah:

Thanks Beckoes.. feel a bit guilty about it, but we needed to be focussing on us for a while, just were drifting a bit, but we are really enjoying all our extra efforts, at least a date a week, can be really simple, like a glass of red and a movie t home, a picnic in the backyard, to indoor rock climbing, we are also trying not to spend much $$ so finding cheap/free things to do is a part of the challenge :)

Must runa nd give little miss her lunch then head home from the office as she slept for 30min this morning which is nothing!! So needs a big sleep!!

Busy here today, the Bear is working from home cause he has been sick all weekend. We had swimming this morning, then went into town to try AGAIN to open a bank account for Beth to bank a cheque someone gave her months ago :rolleyes: don't even get me started on how difficult the banks have made this so far. Then had sushi for lunch, picked up my Mac (which allegedly had nothing wrong with it :rolleyes:). Now I'm tidying up and making marmalade while Beth is having a nap.
Does anyone else feel like they keep attempting to do something and making no progress at all? I seem to have a lot of this going on, there are a bunch of things that just keep going round, and I have to keep finding the time to do them but they never make any progress :wall:

Hey Pix, I have had no problems opening bank accounts for any of mine, all I have needed is a birth certificate. We are with a credit union, none of our accounts have account keeping fees. PM me if you want more info ;)

Yep, I am STILL trying to unpack and organise things, yet the mess keeps getting bigger, even though I am actually getting rid of things (such as boxes :rolleyes:) as I go .... feels like I am going nowhere fast! :lol:

coolies altho i have no idea what that means eekkk..

today is our anniversary of the first day we met each other in the flesh... it was the most amazing awesome feeling picking up my now husband from the airport. The hug i gave him seemed to last for an eternity it was AMAZING!!! the day leading up to it was so hectic rushing around tiding taking kids to school and the car broke down and i had to repair it on the way to the airport but that hug just stopped time i remember turning around and these two elderly ladies were smiling and smirking at us as tho i was picking up my husband from the airport not the man i had begun to fall in love with online.. what a day. MAN did i find him HOT!!! still do i love his baby face and those tranquil eyes that take you away. He is My Gem! aww i better stop now before ya think ive gone tooo mushy

I have been MIA for a few days, I have been reading but can't remember when I last posted!

So, my news that I don't think I have posted... forgive me if I already have posted this stuff....

ummm.....

Went to Gymbaroo yesterday - Jett still loves it. Enjoys all the music, rolling and of course the parachite going up and down over him at the end! Still goes wild at that one.

Routine of poos is out the window... no sooner do I post on here that Mondays and Thursdays are poo days than he sneaks a poo out on Sunday afternoon, then missed Monday completely and then done 2 poos today! So I take it all back. We really do have no routine here! :rolleyes:

Oh, and of course very exciting news - Jett had his official 6 month weigh in yesterday and he has put on.......

725gms!!!

which is just HUGE for him. He put that on over 5 weeks. He now weighs a whopping 6.8kgs... ok I know for most of you that is still mini, but it is massive for us!

And the MCHN was absolutely delighted and told me I was her role model/poster girl now when I told her we were doing BLS and Jett was feeding himself!

Saw my friend today who's house was burnt in St Andrews. She is doing great, fantastic attitude, said that she is just fine that the house is gone and all the things, she and her family are all safe and she is happy with that result. She says she still has her breakdown moments, but it is more the overwhelming support that causes that rather than lamenting over her lost house and posessions.

A very sad story though, she told me that one of her neighbours was told to get out now, but they delayed to collect their valuables and so they (Mum and 2 kids) perished by not getting out quick enough. Makes you really put 'valuables' in to perspective.

MT im sooo sorry about your friends neighbors yes your right it5 really does make u put a value on things and life is so much more important. i reckon jet si doing well thats a GREAT figure 725grams. I think joshie is a fat tub of lard but he is only 8 kilo so it really is each to thier own. i think josh is only 65cm's im wondering how long is all your bubs will see a pead on 24th and get him to measure properly :)

Hubbie gave me a emerald/diamond ring this evening for our anniversary i'm all wowed out with the rak and the anniversary ring plus the other day i got the sapphire one and between the Sapphire one and this emerald i also got another one a
peridot gold ring. im so feeling blessed got the peridot one because i looked beautiful in my little black dress yesterday lol. so hubbie thought anyhow.

I'm in total shock I have received a message from a friend who was due to have her baby on the 29th of March Her baby was born a few hours ago OMG she's tiny!

Got a few very conflicting emotions tonight - happy about the RAK, but really really sad for my friend with the tumour - so one minute I'm up - the next I'm down, all over the place really.

i didnt tell you all this before but My brother recently..... his vision started to go in one eye they found a tumor and in the end removed his whole eye. He is in good health now :)

No offence taken here Squidipa, she is HUGE, she is over 7kg, 7140g to be exact - she is massive, she has passed 3 times her birth weight :lol: I think most of her chub is in her face, I love playing with her cheeks and she has the best double chin ~ although she always has one, it just used to be all skin!!

And Wow for the rings, that is just so exciting. DH wants to get me my eternity ring, but I don't think we can afford it right now with the new house being built etc, so I am happy to wait!!

What a fabulous job you are doing!!! a side bonus is that their clothes fit them a lot longer, we are still in 000 and 0-3, I put her in a few 00 and 3-6 months they are nice a baggy, very Hip Hop!!! He might catch N again!! Great to hear the BLS are going so well for you both, we try N with finger food, I think she just enjoys bashing it, but put a soon anywhere near her and the mouth is open wide!! We are giving her, her own spoon as well and she is so proud when she gets it in her mouth, but usually by that time the fadd has slid down all over her hands!! Ahh it is all fun!!

Oh the stories coming out of that area and just so heartbreaking, there just wasn't any time was there, I am glad your friend got out safe and sound, she is the one that is a vet as well ? Huge hugs to you and you friend, I can't imagine being in her position.

Vic - I have a number of friends. The one who is a vet works in Kinglake, but lives in Whittlesea. Her house is fine but her clinic is gone and she has been working for the last week and a half up in Kinglake and only went home for the first time on Saturday night.

I have another friend from Kinglake, but he and his wife and little girl were so very lucky, they left 10 mins before the fire hit to come down the mountain to his parents place to enjoy their A/C. But they lost absolutely everything as they were only leaving for the afternoon. They didn't even know it had happened, and he had left his phone at home so no could get hold of him for a couple of days. But they are safe and sound and someone has kindly offered them a fully furnished home a couple of minutes walk to the school where he works.

And then another friend built his house up in Kinglake and had only just finished this year, he'd moved in 3 days before the fire. Luckily due to the new building standards his house survived, although the primary school opposite didn't. He's now saying that he's not sure he wants to live up there anymore.

I then have two friends in St Andrews, they are the two friends that have babies the same age. One runs the stockfeed, her house is fine, but she owned a house in Kinglake which is no more.

The other friend is the one that has lost everything, she had the neighbours that delayed trying to collect their valuables.

There wasn't any time or any warning that the fire was there. Normally the fire would go from Kinglake to St Andrews due to the lie of the land, this time it went from St Andrews to Kinglake due to the wind so both towns and the other towns in the same area just had no idea it was upon them until it was too late. It really is no wonder that people took their chances in their cars.

It must be such a different place at the moment, the more it is less of a higlight on the news the awareness drops, I think these next few months and years are going to be very tough for your community :(

Fires can be so unpredictable and for it to do the complete opposite of what it has done before was so unexpected, I couldn't imagine how scary it would have been to be trying to drive in those conditions :(

I don't think i would want to live up there now either. But it may be better if people get back and start building again. But it is going to take a while for the infrastrucutre to be all back in place. It will be interesting to see what it is like 12 months from now. :grouphug:

first of all MT :bluecheer: YAY for Jett's weight gain that is great! Good to see all of our bubs are on track now! So sorry to hear about all the devastation up there and all the lives that have been lost. it's a tragedy. I think living in cities people don't really understand the power of bushfires. Some of the pictures on the news etc have been mindblowing. Still thinking of all of you dealing with the aftermath so big :hug:s

Well, we have all been very sick here. After being up every hour on Friday night, Beth slept through Sat & Sun. Last night she woke up kind of grizzling and I was going to leave her to fall back to sleep, but after a while she started grizzling again so I went and picked her up.... OMG she was on fire! Her temp was 38.99, she wouldn't take the breast. I was so worried, I laid down with her on the couch for a while but when she kept refusing I got the Bear up. We rang the Health Advice line and they said to give her panadol (we'd run out) and if her temp was really high a lukewarm bath. So at 3.30 am we were giving her a cool bath. it cooled her down really well and she had a feed and went back to bed. She was really sick this morning, very lethargic, feverish, no energy so I took her to the doctor (after much rushing around trying to get appointments etc). She has our cold, but also she has an infection in her tonsils so she is on antibiotics. She is sleeping now though and her fever has gone down a bit... and I got more panadol. Fingers crossed she'll be OK. It was a bummer on the timing though there was a group session on solids for our MG which I wanted to go to, but couldn't take her there in case the other bubs got sick. Will have to get the dirt when we catch up on friday.
In other news I was contacted to do some freelance writing and I am not sure if I can be bothered... on the one hand it might be fun and a little cash... on the other hand I don't know if I have time... but anyhoo, missy crying so gotta run. New pix on FB if anyone's interested.... laters

Kye had such a good day today, slept amazingly well. 2 hour block this morning then another hour and a half this afternoon and is asleep again now. It is very rare for him to sleep longer than about 45 minutes so I am feeling really good. Now all I need to get him to do is go back to sleeping at night without doing the wake ups between 9pm and 11pm LOL

Anyhow better run, the boy is due to wake up any moment....

wow,havent been able to get on BB for a while. just tried to read all the posts but found it really hard to catch up and no way i could do all the personals, happy 6 months to all those who turned recently!! yay for the weight gains and other things. Sorry to hear Beth has been so ill! hope she gets better soon. Love everyones new profile pics! congrats to thoses with RAKs!! so nice!

Grace has been eating really well the lazst few days, wasnt keen on the purees anymore so we are now eating cruskits, toast, steamed veg, fruit, and LOVING it. has cut out the 10.30pm wake up and isnt grumpy anymore! so its goin really well. she is not 7.19kgs so puting on weight slowly.
Going to sydney on the 28th just me and G to see the inlaws, should be ok. I went out for my first night out the other day, expressed some milk and headed out for a mexican dinner at a friends house...complete with margaritas!! was great fun...lets just say im a cheep date after no alcohol for about 16 months!! Was nice for DH to be able to feed G with bottles as we hadnt done that before,

Hope everyone is well, so i couldnt do personals...DH is just plating up my dinner....lucky me!!

Just added some photos of our adventure with food so far...but cant work out if they worked or not? Im really not that computer savy!

i tried posting last night but it sooo didnt happen.

so ill now just be quick as im still waking up

brain farting here, and i need to hurry up and wake up, need to replace my digital scales they went wrong microwave too. Not to mention the washing machine has crapped its self. OH and last night well hubbie accidentally didnt screw the milk lid on right and it leaked all through the fridge like all through it even ended up in the tray at the back of the fridge and all on the floor to it was about 2.5 litres wasted.

Hope fully next week ill have my safe n sound car seat too.

other than that im all good. need to drink this coffee and weight joshie as i forgot yesterday so xoxoxox
