hi all
Well I had a nice early morning treat to clean up thanks to Jensen.
He decided he didn't want food in his stomach so he threw it all up on his cot sheets, blankets and wondersuit. mmm the smell of vomit!
After cleaning the cot and him and changing the sheets he proceeded to go back to sleep and woke 2 hours later hungry and happy.

Long time no posts for me - just too busy with the two and working full time I do try and get on occasionally but it's usually to ask a question in another section cause of probs with Child care and stuff!

Hi Everyone,
Well...it looks like both my boys have rotavirus :( Started on Sunday morning and it's been going on and on. Dr has taken a poo sample from Ben but it takes 4days to get results as they apparently take longer than other samples to get results...so it's not a definite yet but looking more and more likely.
They are sleeping lots and lots and not really eating and both have really disgusting bowel motions..Ben has 2-3 baths every day since it started. Oscar has been ok, seems to get better then goes down hill again. Have been keeping a real close eye on the dehydration. Let's hope we don't get it.
Hope everyone else's bubs and selves are ok.

Oh Heather, that's so not nice - my first DD had this when she was about 13months and lost so much weight no one else got it but we were really vigulant with washing hands and stuff. It's not that common for adults to get it and if we do we don't get it anywhere near as bad as the kids do and apparently the first time they get it is the worst.
Hope they get over it soon - keep up the fluids - my gp wasn't worried about DD not eating just make sure she drank and also he suggested to give her some jelly cause that's made up of water and they consider this fluids - it did help cause she thought it was a novalty.

Caleb is doing great! He's just got his 4th top tooth so we had a restless night the other night but he has been sleeping through ever since.
I'm having problems getting him to drink water which is a bit of a worry as I had planned on weaning him after my SIL's wedding. (I decided to keep him on it so I would have a nice rack to put in my bridesmaids dress ;) )
He won't even take EBM from a cup but will latch onto me in a heartbeat!

LOL Sammi-j, isn't it sad that we don't get to keep the 'girls' shape and size when BF is over, it would be a just reward for a job well done;)
Well I have had a forced break from BB over the last week, my computer got a virus, $165.00 later and I'm back. On the up side, the house got a spring clean which was over due.
DD#2 is doing well each day she is getting cheekier and is climbing on everything. She is trying hard to talk, I get cheery "helloooo" in the morning when she wakes up, or "poo poooo" when shes done a #2.

hi all, long time no post.
Jensen been taking few steps every day so I am sure he will be up and walking soon.
He had an appointment with his ophthamologist last monday and he now has to have a drop in his "good" eye to dilate it so that hopefully his "Bad" eye will take the slack. So far nothing, but hopefully this will work so surgery wont be an option. I think it will be though.
At least I wont be as scared this time as I know what will happen and how he will handle it.

rofl rosehannah :lol: I can see myself resorting back to my pre pubescant body type very easily! Bugga on the virus. I've had a couple over the last year so I decided to buy a macbook a little while ago. Seriously thinking of going all mac when this PC gets a bit old. I'm a convert!. I'll give PC to the kids to use as Mason starts school next year.

I ended up with Caleb in the bed at 4am. I knew I shouldn't have posted about him sleeping through! Poor thing. I got him back to his cot and then Angus came in talking about mosquitoes biting him or something. No mozzies in the house I hope. I hate summer for that!
Thanks all for the good wishes, boys recovered well, lasted about 5days. I have ended up with a milder version of it:( !! I thought I was being so good with the washing and so on..I went through a whole box of washing powder in one week and not to mention the state of my hands from the washing them!
Hi Sammi, I use those tommee tippee no spill straw cups. Ben really likes them. Perhaps try spiking the water a little with some juice as an enticement.
Oh and re: the rack..you can get these amazing bras through a lingerie party..the brand is called Intimo (they have a website), one of the bras is called the dream bra and it has silicone in the cups to help with cleavage. I have had girls swear by them and wear nothing else, about to have a party myself and get one..so will let you all know :dance:
Oh yeah..would really love to get a MAC :pray:..my BIL and wife have one, it looks great and they don't need any virus checkers or anything.
Glad to hear Jensen up and about..Ben has dared once to go from one thing to another but not again. He does this thing wear he leans against something and lifts his hands up and giggles..like he is thinking about taking a step.

hay ladies, sorry havn't posted 4 ages we've had alot on from moving to melb from sydney we just got into our new place 3wks ago and we are Pregnant kavanna is going to be a big sister we are so excited first cycle of ttc!!! im 6weeks, so still early days yet!kavanna is really really well 12 teeth, she says duckie mummy daddy poppy nanny birdie, tah puppy and QUACK QUACK shes always got something to say just like her muma. with all this col weather i am very surprised we arent sick.. we are settled in and enjoying our new home!!
Wow Taegan Congratuations :dance: I conceived Angus first go and it was a huge shock, especially after taking 12mths to get Mason.
Heather I'm very close to putting a bit of juice in his drink except I've got a relative whos kids are total juice addicts and it's put me off it a bit. Will see how we go. I have one of those straw cups and Caleb has finally figured out how to suck up a straw this last week!
I think Caleb is saying Angus too. When I picked up Angus from kinder to day he was saying A...Ssss over and over again. I think that is his first word besides Dad. I don't think that counts though as he's been saying it for months and pointing to everything ;)

Jensen is hating the eye drops!!! Fights and screams the whole time I do it (which is about 2 mins)
Austin gets upset, Jensen screaming, drops flying everywhere and body parts flailing.

Hey Sammi, great about the straw cup. Just a drop of juice and then once he's got the hang of it you wean it out pretty quickly. My niece was the same with juice as they put too much in the water to start with and then it took ages for them to be able to get her off the juice. She's good now though!
I also think Ben says Oscar in a funny way..he says car, so not sure if that's a form of Oscar as he does like to play with cars? He babbles alot and says Ta quite clearly, he is a very chatty little boy.
It hards with eye drops. Ben has had conjuctavitas once or twice and boy you are lucky if any drop gets in. It's easier with two people and usually if you have something above his head so he is looking up to cause a distraction.. it sometimes works :pray:.
Well..Ben is a meat boy :clap:!! I just bit the bullett and stopped any kind of pureed food. I put a ****tail frank in front of him and he gorged it down..and the next one too..not so good on the veg and pasta, will keep trying.
Congratulations Taegan:dance: hope all is still going well..might be a silly question.. what is ttc? I am not quite used to the acronmyns just yet, even though I am a text queen (it took me a long time to work out what lol meant eventually a friend explained it to me:rolleyes:.

A blast from the past :p sorry i didn't realise how long it had been since i last posted:redface: anyhow nice to see some newies in here and i see a few of us oldies are still here which is great.
Mason is doing great, although he has to have grommets put in his ears, after recurring ear infections, saw the ENT and had a hearing test done, although his hearing seems to be pretty good he has fluid in them, so we're on the waiting list for that.
He's up and walking, has been for a couple of weeks, took him long enough especially seeing as he was crawling at 8 months ....... boys, he's just cut his 7th tooth which i think is very slow, he got his 1st at 9 months and had the 6 come thru quickly then nothing til last week. He's such a delight though and he loves being able to walk around and go outside with his older siblings.
I've been flat out with all the kids and their schooling and everything else, we have ds#2 seeing a psychologist as he has some learning probs so we're just getting to the end of all the testing she has to do and then see where we go from there.
Well i'm going to go and read the rest of the thread and see what you've all been up to.

Your name is new to me so I must have slipped in while you were away. My DD#1 has had a lot of ear infections and has mild-moderate hearing lose, she is being watched at the moment to see whether grommets will be needed. How did Mason go with getting the grommets?
DD#1 was complaining of a sore ear last night and has woken up this morning with a tummy upset and a fever poor little mite.
I hope everyone are doing well, I have been trying to be a little more disciplined about how much time I spend on BB (yeah right he he) or at least making sure the house stays clean, not that it is that easy with a one year old pulling everything out of the cupboards.
Hi, sorry i don't know your real name hehehe :redface: he hasn't had them yet, if that's what you meant, he's on the waiting list to get them done, the ENT made him a category 2 so within 90 days i think. My last 3 kids have had to have them done too, ds#3 had glue ear really bad and had them done at 12 months and dd had them done at 12 months too, ds#2 had to have them done when he was 6. So must be a genetic thing for us.:
How did Mason go with getting the grommets?
Mason is driving me mad the last few days all he wants is to be picked up and my back is killing me from picking up 13kg all the time. I think it's teeth but i don't know if i'm starting a bad habit or what but he's so whingey :doh:
We went to a big park yesterday (seeing as it was a public holiday here in Melb) and he had his 1st real play since he's been walking and he had a ball. He loved climbing but the only thing is he needs to work out the getting down bit lol. We took a picnic and all the kids had a good time and we got ice cream, was a nice family afternoon.
Better get back to it, the house doesn't clean by itself :(
