I have no time! no time to post, no time to even stalk on BB!
Ds is asleep and usually when he sleeps, i sleep :)
He is still not rolling either but is trying really really hard, i wonder if his clothy bum is too big!
We are still breastfeeding which is going well despite a blocked duct on thursday which is all better now. Have our 4 month needles on friday - cant believe he is 4 months already!
Gotta stop typing, too hard with 1 hand (B just woke up - impecable timing lol)
hope all is good in your baby world xx
Jaxon did his first rollover from back to front on Tuesday the 14th, now you can't keep him on his back.....he thinks he is a tricky baby now LOL!
Better go get the cake out of the oven.
Talk soon.
hehe How cute Danniim! Our DS did it too- almost on the same day as well I think!! Now we have to watch where he rolls to!
we have some movers here! Byron rolled on easter sunday - from his front to his back though, hasnt done the back to front one yet :)
Hi everyone!
I haven't posted in such a long time, but I love following everyone's progress. It's so good to see how everyone's babies are doing so well! I know it's a quiet thread here, but it's really nice to hear your updates every now and again.
Emily and I are still exclusively breastfeeding, which has it's ups and downs, but I'm very proud that we've been able to stick with it. She's doubled her birthweight now! We have issues with lots of vomiting and wind still, but I guess it's all pretty normal, as she's obviously doing well. I think I may have to think about solids soon - she's really cutting back on how long she can go between feeds now, and I think the vomiting getting worse at the moment is because she really needs lots of calories but is overfilling her little tummy to try and get those calories she needs. I'll be having a chat with my Health Visitor (like a MCHN over here in the UK) today about it. I would like to try and delay it for a bit longer though if possible, as her digestion got off to such a bad start I don't want to affect it again with solids too early for her personally. What is eveyrone else doing with regard to solids at this stage? It would be great to hear!
We can add Emily along for the movers club - two days ago she rolled from front to back for the first time, with a good pause on her side first! It's the first time she'd made any move to roll at all, as she's hated being on her tummy most of the time and is just getting used to it now. She attempted it again last night with a varying degree of success lol, so I'm sure more and more will be happening now! She seems to only want to do it when she's a nudey bub (as well as being on her tummy at all), as I think her cloth bum is too bulky and annoys her otherwise, like Byron, Kristy! We also had her first laugh during the week last week, and our first cold the week before that (she didn't do to bad with it - only got it mildly from me), so it's all happening.
Lee, I hope you're recovering well from your surgery and that everything is ok for you and DS with BF since.
A big hi to everyone else!
Look forward to hearing more updates in time.
Miss C :)
Miss c we have already started on solids here, we were advised by the nurse/LC but i knew he was extremely close to starting anyway as he was only going 1.5hrs between breastfeeds for quite sometime and he has taken to them really well and i make all my own foods for him as well!
Miss C, I'm told babies have a growth spurt around 4 months, so it may not necessarily be needing solids that's having her go less time between feeds, but just her natural way of boosting your supply because she's about to get bigger. Personally, I'd hold off unless she's showing other signs of being ready.
It seems that I've got a watcher and a thinker rather than a mover. No efforts to roll over at all, but he's getting very good at sitting up. He sits now with minimal support - he's just so interested in watching everything that's going on... just not real interested in interacting with the world just yet. Although, he has figured out that if he's on his tummy he can lift his head up and see more, so he's enjoying tummy time a lot more.
It's amazing watching how much new stuff they pick up every day. Sam's now mimicking the sounds in "hello" every time I say hello to him. It's so cute!
BW
BW-Yes, I love their little baby chatter!!..how clever Sam is mimicking you!
As for solids, we won't start few a good month or two yet. We are in no hurry. But I am probably a bit lazy! Having a milk fed baby is easy compared to having to prepare meals for them all the time! hehe.
Speaking of meals, we bought a slow cooker the other day as atm I'm struggling to have the time and energy to prepare proper dinners for DH and I..so fingers crossed the slow cooker does the trick!
Hope everyones cruising along ok! x
Hi lovely ladies - have not posted in a while but i have been lurking and keeping abreast of goings-on. Great to hear all is well with you all and your bubs.
Just wanted you all to know that I am leaving BB (sad and sorry heart but know it is the right thing to do). If you can imagine the warmest hug imaginable it is being sent to all of you from me. Please PM your details if you would like to stay in touch.
Now, for one last time....... :grouphug: lovely ladies.
Hi ladies
well I haven't posted in forever but my little Scarlett was born on Dec 18th and I am loving being a mummy. We've started solids and we are enjoying all the different flavours and faces that go with them. Have had huge probs since birth with breast feeding ( hospitalised or 2 weeks for severe mastitis and staph infection in breast) and have expressed every single feed since. It's hard work but it's paying off ( for Scarlett at least). Hopefully will go to breast full-time once mild reflux subsides
I hope you can all forgive me for being so slack.
Ronnie M
P.s my ticker isn't working - I would love some advice.
RonnieM, for tickers, use the BB code rather than the HTML code.
We're plodding along... Sam's recovering from his bronchiolitis but managed to give me the RSV that caused it so we're both a bit under the weather. No solids as yet, but he's showing a lot of interest!
BW
Hi girls,
It's been ages since i last posted.
I hope everyone is well at the moment. DS had Bronchiolitis too and after 2 weeks of it, i think he is now over finally over it. Thank goodness
Marciano is now on solids 3 times a day and is enjoying it. He eats alot more than what i think he can fit in that tiny belly but as long as he's opening his mouth and asking for more - i keep spooning it in. I've been pureeing carrots, pumpkin, peas, potatoes, apples, pears and sweet potatoe. The store bought food he's eaten is vanilla custard. I mix this with the apple puree if its a little too tart. He hasn't refused anything yet which is great. It will probably bite me in the bum when he's 1 year old or something!
I've been trying a routine from the the 'Save Our Sleep' book but it doesn't seem to work with him so i'm going to work out something myself.
He is still waking up 2 or 3 times a night which is killing me.I just can't seem to cope with it at the moment. I'm also trying to get him to have longer sleeps during the day too as he sometimes only naps for 25 to 45 mins. But i guess you can't make them do something their bodies doesn't want or need.
I want to go back to work at the moment but waiting on an employer to get in a few more clients so she has some work for me. I've been waiting for a couple of months and if nothing happens in the next month i think i might see if i can go back to my old job instead. What's everyone else doing work wise? Is everyone else working or are there some SAHM mum's too (not saying SAHM don't do work)?
Anyway that's my boring post for today.
Have a good rest of the weeks.
Bye for now... :wiggle:
Hello everyone,
It's been 3 months since I even logged on- amazing how time has gone by so fast. He's become a roller/ wriggler (not crawling though) , can't leave him for a moment, he's across the room and headed for the poor ancient dog who tries hard to ignore him. Have to take one of them with me if I leave the room.
I'm surprised how alike Jellybean's baby and mine are for behaviours...but they are only a day or 2 apart. Jake also has bronchiolitis, but has had it for about 6 to 8 weeks, and is coughing less each day, which is good.
Jacob obviously thinks sleep is for the meek and food, well, he's been having up to 8 breast feeds a day and 3 meals a day - I'm tipping it into a bottomless pit. He has refused plain potato though. Too bland I think.
I'm going back to work 2 days a week in July, so today is his second day in daycare with me not there- and yesterday he slept for nearly 3 hours at lunch - hasn't done that for me for about 2 months!
It was hard to leave him there, but he loves being around people especially other children, so he will be fine. And I had a sleep yesterday morning which was lovely.
A question on babbling/ talking at this age...Jake is only making throaty/ screechy sounds, no ba's, da's or mmmm sounds yet. I am bit concerned since he has a mild tongue tie. Are other kids making real sounds (requiring tongue movements?)
Will try to log in more and see how you are all travelling!
Carole & Jake
Hi. How is everyone and their bubs doing?
I was wondering what everyone else's routines are for the babies whether its a routine set by you or just how the flows for your little one.
DS is all over the place but this is what i'm trying out with him for now:
7.15 wake up - bottle FF 210mls
play on mat
story time
8.00 solids - usually apple pear & cinnamon puree. sips of water
play in highchair while food settles
9ish sleep for approx 2hrs (sometimes only 1hr)
11ish wake up and bottle FF maybe 160mls
play on mat
11.45 solids with water
play in highchair and then on floor mat
1ish sleep for approx. 1.5hrs depending on morning nap
2.30/3ish - bottle FF 160mls
play on floor
story time
4.30 sleep for about 30 to 45 mins (great time for me to organize dinner!)
5.15 wake up and solids with sips of water
play in highchair while i finish dinner/washing up
6pm sharp - bathtime, clean change of clothes
6.30 bottle usually about 160mls
7pm sharp - bedtime!:asleep:
10.30/11ish - dreamfeed but half the times he wakes up. I'm reducing the amount he has to about 100mls instead of 140mls. Hoping to stop the dreamfeed by 7months at least!
He usually wakes up about twice through the night. I put in dummy back in and sometimes give him a few sips of water and then walk out. I don't usually hear anything after that until i wake him at 7.15am.
If i skip the dreamfeed, he usually wakes up about 5 or 6am sometimes he'll go back to sleep if i give him a little water but will probably wake again 30mins later :wall:
Until about 3 months we wouldn't put him to BED as such until about 10ish which means i never got a break but the last 3 months now he has strict bedtime of 7pm even if we are out. He goes straight to sleep and his so much happier in the mornings now. Plus me and my hubby get to have some time together now ;)
So how does your bubs day pan out?
Hi Everyone,
Clearly everyone has been REEEAAAALLLLLYYYYY busy with our little ones, so I thought i'd kick off a big howdy before they all turn one in a few months.
It's so hard to believe they weighed half to a third of their current weight and woke every 2 hours for a 1 hour feed only 9 months ago!

My little boy is an absolute joy most of the time, and a really noisy wriggly boy for the rest of the time. At 9 months he's standing up, crawling, trying to get the dog to laugh at him, eating selective foods, talking his own special language (turned up to 11) and sleeping for 2-3 hours in the morning, and strangely having a very late nap around 6 or 7 for an hour. Sometimes has a mid afternoon nap too.
We've just had a clingy phase for a few weeks, but he's had a 2 nice days at daycare last week (I work thurs & fris).
Bubbas
Wondering if everyone else is going through the same sort of behaviour?
Any funny things that they do?
Anyone using sign language- I'm trying but getting nothing back!
Mummas
Hope you are all doing well, and doing something for yourselves
I've just started doing some sewing again, I'm making a quilt I started before Jake was born! At this rate it will be finished just before he moves into his single bed.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Carole
Don't have time for a long reply... but on the half to a third of current weight when they were born - not here! Sam's now four times his birthweight! Helps that he started TINY and early! :)
