Yeah, I know most bubs her "born age" are on 200ml+ . Not sure about her corrected age.
I get alot of comments from my mother saying that Hannah needs to be on more formula, but she's only 4.75kg and she's on plenty of milk for her weight.
She's generally not windy, it may even be reflux. I may have to get her surgeon to OK putting her Zantac (Ranitadine) dose up. She's only on a very small amount anyway. I don't think it is reflux, tho.

Hahaha, no she's not. Doing a few little spew-y dribbles after a feed, but thats it.

Doesn't sound silly to me. Could be a growth spurt.... will keep an eye on her and weigh her in a few days and see if she's put on more weight.

Well kids back to school :cry: I really like school holidays. As for Charlie boy he dosen't stop moving his trying to take off :) very funny to see. We put him in the Jolly jumper on the weekend and he love it so did all the kids. I had to go all :ninja: on them to leave him alone :). Better go bottle time.

Awww, poor little Summah! Hannah hasn't gotten sick yet, so fingers crossed we make it through winter without her getting a cold. With her being a bit early, I don't want to risk it.
Sounds like Charlie is pretty full on! Hannah thinks she'd like to start moving, especially when she's on her belly. She's supposed to be holding her head up but instead she just wriggles around! I really want to get her into a jolly jumper, but my sister is still using it atm (its my mothers). I think she'd love it.... Will try to get it today. I think my niece has been banned from using it anyway because she learnt how to swing in it....
She's doing a bit better today, although she's only been up once. She slept from 7.30pm to 8.15am. She woke up screaming and by the time I had changed her bum and made the bottle she was convinced she was going to die of hunger. It was actually quite funny. I can't help laughing when she cries, its so cute!!
Hannah has discovered her feet.... She found them this morning while sitting on my knee. She was staring at them alot and when they move she smiles and giggles. I took her socks off so she could see her toes and she was moving them and giggling again.
She hasn't found her hands yet.... trust Hannah to do everything backwards!!
Anyway, must go wake her up now otherwise she'll sleep all day!
Lol at doing things backwards charlotte! Has her mood improved? You know, DD has been really grumpy of alte, especially in the afternoons. Which is no surprise given how tired she always is.
It's so hard to do anything when they only catnap, isn't it Cathie!
And sleeping with Daddy did no good.

Crumpet, no need to mess your dacks - they are there to help and everything you let out is one less thing for you to worry about. It's a time of huge change and adjustment - I felt like I was having an identity crisis for awhile there, and talking it out helped. I am a totally different person to this time last year but I'm much more comfortable in my own skin now. Hope the session goes well for you. Hope Summah gets well soon!
Hi Charlotte, in terms of routine I just follow Millie's lead. Some days she wakes up at 3 or 4 am for a bottle, other days she sleeps through til 6 or 7... I feed her when she's hungry, put her to bed when she's tired, and play with her or take her out inbetween times :) Night is always the same though - 6.30pm bath, massage, bottle, cuddles, bed at 7.30. I hear you on the dying-of-starvation routine though - Millie used to pull that, the poor little chook. Now she just gives us this indignant yell if she feels her needs aren't being met. It's SO cute and hard not to giggle at her gummy little mouth! She lets me know if she's not hungry and I don't push her to finish every bottle. She generally makes up for it later.
Heh heh, Cathie the :ninja:! It sounds like your family is dealing with the heartbreaking return from paradise okay!
MadB, I'm on the mend but on antibiotics to stop it from marching further down my respiratory tract. Gah. While I was at the GP the other day I chucked Millie on the scales. 7.6kg :o I couldn't measure her but she's SO long too. Hope you got to those other bottles:lol:

Sorry I've been missing lately, up north with my family still, got the wedding tomorrow - woohoo!! I am so excited :) Anyway, onto some personals..
PP - I hope you have your voice back! Lovely to hear you had a nice easter with little Millie. I'm sure you're enjoying eating chocolate again!! Wow, what a great weight!!! She's overtaken Jacob again... :) Last weigh in he was 7.3kg
Georgie - Self settling definately makes likfe sooooo much easier. I'm glad to hear Eden is back to sleeping through the night, enjoy!
Crumpet - Good luck for your appointment tomorrow, don't be nervous, you'll be absolutely fine, it's the best thing for you to talk to someone at the moment and I think you'll be surprised at how much it will help. :) How's Summah doing? I really hope she's feeling better, poor little thing!!
Charlotte - How's Hannah doing?? I hope she's back to normal feeds again for you. They like to keep us on our toes don't they!! We don't have a strict routine by ANY means...he sleeps when he's tired and feeds when he's hungry, it works for us. But like PP I have a bedtime routine that works really well....we go for a walk and when we get home he feeds, baths then bed...Hope you enjoyed the concert!
MadB - What a bummer sleeping with dad didn't help... we'll get a full nights sleep ONE day :) Do you feel tired through the day? Cause you don't even get the opportunity to have a nap!
Cathie - How cute about the jolly jumper...I was going to get one for Jacob but he just bounces on our laps instead :lol: I remember what my nephew was like in his when he was a bub, so cute!!

Sorry if I've missed anyone, I'm trying to get this done as quick as I can, I have a friend coming to visit with her little girl soon. Things are going well here, I'm loving being back with the family!! Only downside is Jacob hasn't been settling as well as he was at home. I just hope I can get him back to self settling when we're back home. :pray: Other than that it's a buzz of excitment today with my brothers wedding tomorrow, I'm going to help down at the hall today with setting up....don't know how much help I'll be with Jacob but hopefully he'll have a sleep in the pram! I've been soooo pampered, I've had my hair coloured, pedicure and I've even had my nails done! first time in two years...I used to get them done religiously until I did my course to become a qualified nail tech myself (bit of a change from my job in HR!), then it became about other peoples beautiful nails! I haven't done nails at all since I feel pregnant with Jacob though as the chemicals are too strong.

You know what? I felt DD's gums this morning and there's definitely tooth action down the bottom, front left. Whether it's coming sooner or later I couldnt' say (it can take aaaages for them to come through) but there's something decidedly toothlike in there.
DH is off work next week and we';re going camping from Thursday. Which gives us 6 days to get ourselves organised beore then (because we always leave everything to the last minute).
CATHIE - That must be hard work with Charlie only cat napping and all those other kids to look after. I guess the other kids keep him entertained do they?
CHARLOTTE - The amount they drink does go on their weight. I can't remember the formula they use to work out the mls per kg. So if she's lighter than the other babies then yeah, she should be drinking less. Eden only has 150mls in his bottle of EBM. I really don't think he gets more than 100mls per feed from the boob. He has 5 feeds a day
CRUMPET - Boo on the snotty nose. Eden has had one for ages now. Thankfully it's not too bad, it doesn't stop him from feeding or sleeping
PP - It's so funny that we've barely got any winter clothes so I never know what to pack for sydney. No doubt i'll over pack
JULES - How exciting! How a wonderful time. I just love weddings. You'll probably find it'll take Jacob a few days to settle back home. That's what's always happened with DS1. I'll see how Eden goes this trip
MADB - Wow a toothy peg.... Let the fun times begin hey. I'd love to go camping. We have a good tent but nothing else. We talk about it but never get around to doing anything. Maybe later this year, when it warms up again
Poor lil Eden had a terrible night last night. He woke at 10.30pm so I re settled him, then DH got home from work around midnight and 'says' he spent 2 hours trying to settle Eden (i slept through this). I ended up getting up at 1.45am and fed him, but it was clear he wasn't hungry and seemed to be in pain. So I gave him panadol, which he threw up a minute later (last time I gave him panadol he threw it up too). Then he was happy as Larry and went to sleep till I woke him at 7am. I guess he was feeling off in the tummy. This has happened exactly like this before too. Of course all his crying woke up DS1 who then wouldn't go back to sleep. Ah the joys.
Just packing for the trip down south. I think I mentioned Eden is being baptised on Mothers day with his cousin Max. I bought a new dress for it yesterday as I'm still fat and not fitting into my usual size 10 clothes.... Struggling to find the motivation. I keep saying once I get back from Sydney I'll get back to the gym & start watching my diet again.

Well, Hannah's still being a real ferret! She's not drinking a full bottle, only taking about 70ml and just being plain grumpy. Not sleeping properly.
Last night she woke up at 3am til nearly 5am.
She was just in bed but after 15 minutes of crying her getting more upset she's up now, and DP is giving her a cuddle and trying to give her some more bottle before plonking her back in bed.
I'm thinking that I need to increase her Zantac. She's being a bit refluxy the last few days. Seeing her surgeon in 10 days but I might give him a ring on Monday to discuss her Zantac. That also might be why she doesn't really want her bottle..... Don't know, but DP and I are so tired that Hannah's moods aren't helping.
Georgi - Good luck with Eden's baptism!! I know what you mean about moving the weight. Size 10 was big on me and I'm squishing into it now. Got some flabby love handles I have to deal with. Thats whats the most depressing. Need to tone my belly a bit as well, was looking at it in the shower before.
MadB - A tooth!? Already!! Holy moly!!

My tummy is just embarrassing :redface: i was a size 10 once. Actually I was a size 8 once :hide: That's never happening again
She's had teething signs for a while but I didn't give it much thought as DS was the same at that age. :dunno: might take months for it to come through, who knows? Gives me somethign to blame for her grumpiness though :lol:

But with all of us, we're what, 4-5 months after giving birth? "they" say it takes 12 months to get back to normal!!!! Don't forget - it took 9 months to put the weight on, so 9 months to tone it up is fair enough too ...

Georgi - yeah it is hard with the cat napping, he is a really light sleeper so with all the kids making so much noise he only sleeps for 30 -40mins, but he does sleep all night no noise.

madB - I also was ONCE a size 10 but after having six children size 10 has sadly gone and now I am a 14. I would like to get down to a size 12. A tooth already, I wish one of charlies teeth would break through. It's giving him a hard time.
Kaz - Hope Pip's birthday was lots of fun.
Well all is well my way only the teeth and the 30 -40min sleeps. All the other kids are well :)

As for the weight thing. I've put on more weight again... Particularly in the weeks leading up to easter. I have simply just been a piggy. No excuses really. Other than I'm always tired so can't get motivated to exercise.

Nah, she won't. She has about 80ml and then we offer her another 60 or 70ml an hour and a bit later before she goes to bed and she won't take it. maybe 10ml if we're lucky.:

I've just had a read to catch up and when i get a moment will try and sit and say hi to everyone.
Harper is a bit of a cat napper also with maybe 1 good one so all the unpacking and washing is getting done slowly.

More drama's with hannah, lol. Does it ever end!?
She went to my parents for a while today while DP and I went to look at a mates place. She was due for a sleep and didn't want to take her, as our mate smokes and we don't really want to expose her to his house.
Got back to my folks and she had woken she was running a temp and wasn't very happy. Kept an eye on her while we were there was she was losing all colour in her face and crying and crying. She's not one to cry, really. Tried to give her the rest of her bottle and she just screamed.
Mum suggested that maybe she has a tooth coming through, as her gum is slightly swollen and she's chewing her finger alot. (She's too young for teeth!! Remembering that she's 6 weeks prem!). And maybe she has a sore throat....
Tried to take her temp with a thermometer that was going flat and gave up when it read 38.3
So! Off to Outpatients (no emergency in this town, just outpatients) and luckily a nurse that I go to playgroup with was on duty and she knows Hannah quite well.
She could tell that Hannah was 'off' even though she was crying and crying til we got into the hospital then she was smiling and laughing at the nurses. Don't ya hate that!?
The nurse rang my MCHN and she said as long as Hannah is having wet nappies and drinking at least half a bottle she should be Ok.
Her temp wasn't too high so we're just keepin an eye on it. Gave her a small dose of panadol and she's alot happier now.
Off to see the doctor first thing tomorrow, still thinking she has a throat problem because she's been coughing when she has her bottle.
There's something not right with her. She's just not herself.
If she gets worse during the night, my midwife is on night duty. She's not midwifing, as the closest maternity is over an hour away, but just normal nursing. She knows Hannah very very well and she used to midwife in Adelaide and has dealt with quite a few Gastroschisis bubs before.
She's just gone to bed for the night now, so hopefully she's better in the morning. Maybe she's not 'just being a ferret'. Maybe she is sick. :'(
Anyway, will keep you updated.
Hope Hannah is back to normal soon. There's always a reason when they're out of sorts - it's really hard figuring out what it is, but you do know when they're 'off', that's for sure.
Sounds like a bit of a stressful afternoon Charlotte, glad she seems to be settled now though. I wonder if the dr will have any answers for you tomorrow? Either way sounds like you handled it quite well and you have support around you. Hope you guys have a good night :)

i had my appt with the councellor on saturday morning.
it went well.... well as well as things like that can go ;)
she has diagnosed me with PND but said its more of grief based type than a stuggling to cope with the pressures of a new mum type....
there is a lot of work to be done because i never got help after we lost G, so it will take a while but im so confident and comfortable with her that i think it will work....
Been up to the doctors this morning with Hannah. Her ears may have some fluid in them, it was a bit hard to tell as her ears are so tiny.
Her throat is red, but no signs of tonsilitis. Going back to see the doctor tomorrow afternoon for a review. She may also be slightly dehydrated.
He's put her on panadol 4 times a day, and she appears refluxy to him so I've put a call in to the surgeon and, of course, he's not in today. So waiting for his secretary to ring me back.... Wow, that was quick. She just confirmed the whole story and the surgeon will ring me back this afternoon.
Just gotta keep an eye on her cough as she may develop a respiratory infection and also keep an eye out for a urinatry tract infection.
She's passed out in bed now, so I'm going to let her sleep for a bit longer if she wants to.

This is the first time she's been sick, well not including her birth. But she wasn't really sick then. She just had issues, lol.

Jules, it’s funny but I haven’t been as desperate for choc as I have in other years… I’ve eaten a smallish bunny and a bunch of tiny eggs… my husband ate my bilby (nearly went :ninja: on him)… what I’m really enjoying is having hot chocolate again :) Can’t wait to hear about the wedding! Glad you got some pampering in.

Hi Charlotte, jeepers I hope Hannah is okay. What formula is she on? Millie is on AR for silent reflux. She did the same when she developed it, refused feeds and screamed like crazy so hoping it all gets sorted out for you soon. Sounds like you have great support and are managing so well.

The weight thing is funny… I have in my wardrobe everything from size 8 to size 14. Some days I look in the mirror and think “heeeeey… you’re one hot mama!” Then other days it’s just… blah. I don’t do myself any favours though, I don’t drink enough water or eat enough fruit, and hardly exercise. Some day I’ll get the motivation to be a bit healthier! (I write this watching the Biggest Loser final… :rofl: )
We’ve had a great few days, I’m finally getting better and turned 33 today! Had an awesome day – DH took the day off, we took Millie to swimming and she was PERFECT – no crying today! We had lunch with my sister and her DH, Millie and I had a big nap, and we’ve had tea and toast for dinner (it was a big lunch!). Not the most glamourous of days, but possibly my best birthday yet :) Oh and I bought myself new boots yesterday so I felt very trendy at lunch. DH usually gives me a gorgeous handbag – I have been missing my lovely bags so he bought me a stunning new nappy bag. Ah, the simple life!

Oh my God. It felt like only a minute ago that I was saying how Hannah is too young for teeth. Her gum has swollen up his afternoon and she can't keep her fingers out of her mouth. Too the point of sticking her fingers down her throat and dry retching! lol
She's doing lots of whining. Off to get some bonjela in the morning.
Not sure if a tooth will come through, but its definately moving around.
Just what I need! Hannah never does ANYTHING half-@rsed. She's a 'one in, all in' kind of bub. Just like me and her daddy, lol.

Charlotte - if you don't have any teething rings handy, a washer that you've rinsed in boiled water and then popped in the freezer will sooth - they just chew/suck on it. Also great during heat waves :D Hope she settles for you soon.
After 2 days of parties, poor Will couldn't settle this arvie, ended up wearing him in the picolo and he finally settled, thank goodness!!!! lots of little catnaps.

Georgi how did you go visiting family friends? It sounded like a great get together. How's Eden's night sleeps going? I don't think i've ever had more than 5 hours over night. The last few nights Harper has gone down really easily for the night and slept for the 5ish hour mark but then after that she's waking every couple of hours. I'm thinking it's a mixture of tiredness and loving being i her own bed but then also being used to having me there for all the feeds she wants as i had her in bed with me a lot while we were camping so as to not disturb anyone. I'll give it some time and see how the nights pan out. Hope all goes well with the baptisim. Will keep an eye out for photos.
Kaz sounds like you guys had a really busy weekend. Did Pip enjoy his big days?? Poor Aidan talks about his birthdays been and gone and ones to come 'tomorrow' all the time, a year is such a long time for the little ones. I hope you feel somewhat settled into the work routine now. How are the renos going?
Charlotte has Hannah settled a little for you? Have you been able to increase her zantac does and has it made a difference? We've increased Harper's dose twice since she started taking it at 7 weeks, i've noticed the signs each time and was quick to get on top of it so we didn't have to go backwards at all.
Cathie i saw the holiday photos on fb. Looks like it was great and the kids loved it. Even Charlie boy with that big grin on his face :)
Crumpet i hope you are feeling positive with the steps being made. Things got all a little too much for me with some family issues just before i had DS2, i ended up having some counseling and i definately benifited from it. I hope you get to where you want to be in time. How's the busy week going with DD? I hope it's a good one for you :)

Jules sounds like you've had a great week, i love hearing you talk about your SIL so fondly. I had what i thought was a pretty good relationship with my brothers partner but it changed, she's hurt me a fair bit and i don't think it could ever be the same again. You guys are so lucky. How's your gorgeous little man?
Did i get everyone? I hope so there's quite a few of us.
I feel like i'm pretty much settled back in, i washed while we were away a few times but it didn't seem to make a difference to the pile i had when we got home. Merimbula was great, so beautifula and relaxing and we'll definately be going back. A great caravan park for the kids. Harper loved camping and was an angel. The drive there was much better than i expected but the drive home was a challenge. All good though it's all to be expected. She slept pretty well, lots of cat naps during the day and the nights were fine but i had her with me a fair bit just so we wouldn't disturb anyone. Would do it again as soon as we get the chance.
Harper is almost 5 months now and she's great. Chubbed up a bit, possibly from all those night feeds :lol: But she's perfect. She's had some rosey cheeks but i haven't really had a look in her mouth for any teeth movement, she enjoys chewing on toys now though. She's self settling really well and is almost easier than the boys when they are moody which is quite a bit lately as they are still quite tired from our holiday.
All is good with me, i'm probably one of those who you see and think, how on earth can she look like that with a 5 month old :hide: I'm not flab free by any means but i think it's just me. I'm sure my time will come later in life. I have absolutely no time for exercise though so if it wasn't for my body being like it is it could be completely different. I had a dr appt yesterday with a little bit of an embarrassing questions for him. Was going to mention it to you guys but was a bit embarrassed again. I had soreish itching bb's and nipples and didn't know what it was. There was no whiteness to them so thrush (which was the only thing i could think of being a problem) was out of the question. Anyway i think it's dermatitis on my bb's :o The cream i was given has definatley taken the irritation out of it. Gosh the things we have to go through.
Had some sad new this week. The girlfriend of mine who was pregnant with their first has miscarried. We are very close but she lives overseas, i wish i could give her a big hug but it's obviously out of the question. I've never had any experience with this or known someone close to me who has. I'm absolutely devistated for them. Nature can be cruel sometimes.
So it's a long but but i think i'll be able to slip back in now and be up to date with everyone. Hope you're all well and having a good week girls :)

Harper wanted to feed all night. At least i think that's what she wanted... :dunno:
I -for once- was in bed early, her first wake was 10:30ish and from then on it was every hour or so. One time there when i actually took notice of the clock she'd been in bed half an hour before she was calling for us again. I think it was the feeds she wanted as she'd jump on the bb as soon as she could. But then again after a few minutes of sucking she'd be blowing raspberries on the bb. I think it was a bit about also being in bed with us. She was just being a cheeky little monster last night. I think i put her in bed about 4ish and she slept till 7am after that.
Lets just hope she doesn't make a habit of that carry on. I'm fine though, had it been back when the boys were that age i probably would have gotten really furstated at it but i just went with it, would have loved a bit more sleep but all is good ;)

Hannah's doing OK. The only problem with giving her a chew toy instead on bonjela is that she hasn't yet found her hands (physio keeping an eye on that. She should have found them by now....). She chews on her fingers, but won't reach for anything or grab a toy and put that in her mouth.
No sign of a throat infection!! She's gotten better, back on full feeds. She has 120ml and then a 10-30ml top up before bed. She's alot happier.
Only her nappy's are really slimy and green. Something strange. And very watery. To the point where she just sneezed and filled her nappy.
Very very gross. Green and watery and slimey and stinky.
hehehe, I went into her room to get her this morning and I opened her door and thought "Hmmm, smells like poo in here" and pulled aside the mozzie netting over the basinette and the smell hit me like a brick!! Man!! Such a little girl, such a big smell.
Her nappy has only been slimy this morning. Hopefully it settles down.
Oh and I rang the surgeon re: Zantac. And spoke to his secretary and he was meant to ring me back, but didn't....
Hmmmm maybe it'll get rougher, she's just woken up after about half an hour in bed again Grrrrrrr
Just ordered a burlesque costume on the internet!!! I have a dress up hens night to go to in two weeks. Could be veerrrryyyy interesting :p :lol:

All is gOing well this week, feeling so much better but its prob just coz I'm so busy I dont have time to think about other things! :lol:
Summah had her 4 month check up today (a week short of 5 months mind u) and she is 6.5kg and 62cm long!
All in all, a happy, average baby :D just the way I like it!!!

EJ glad to hear that you're settling back in at home, but :doh: at the big night! Hope lil miss gives you a bit more sleep tonight. LOVE the idea of a burlesque costume! I hope there's feathers involved! Sorry to hear about your friend, one of my friends went through the same two weeks ago. It's heartbreaking for her.
Charlotte I'm so glad Hannah is on the mend. Maybe whatever bug she had is causing the stinky poos? I have to say, that is one thing about having clear sinuses again that kinda sucks... I couldn't smell anything for two weeks!

Millie has been invited to my Goddaughter's fancy dress b'day party in early June so am on the look out for costume ideas :) Might get some animal print fabric and make her an outfit! Any ideas? We went and saw Rio today, Millie LOVED the music and was waving her arms and bouncing around to it.
DH is off to soccer training tonight - leftover pasta and Glee night, whoohoo!

Well charlie boy has a cold so he has been sooo miserable the last couple of days and nights. So the colds begin in my house yay NOT !!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no on the cold - Will is so, so snuffly. I'm exhausted, DS1 has been climbing into our bed and is so very restless, I'm amazed if he actually gets any "rest" while sleeping.
Have been removing heaps of snot from his nose. Stuffs up b/f though.
Oh good o Millie dancing! I work days of Lullaby Sessions at our local cinema.
