Still catnapping. Still waking through the night. Had them both in bed with my last night. We wer out at my parents' place and forgot to take DS' special cat toy. He woke up coughing and coulen't sleep and needed his mummy. Miri thought it was playtime. yay for me....

EJ- thank you, he went well sleeping after that, had a slight cold and upset tummy, after some awful bottom movements the next day he's been an angel again. I hope you feel better soon :(

Kazbah - Thank you for the welcome :). Must have been the day for it though we had it out the other end. Both boys did really awful ones and thankfully I had just bought new clothes for them so it was off to the change rooms in a big way for explosion 1 & 2!

Purplepixie - Hallo! *waves*. I feel your pain with the pram park I had someone do that to me, I did get out and rage at them though and they moved their car :) I was heavily pregnant with no. 2 at the time and didn't feel like walking all the way from the other end of civilisation to get some milk and toilet paper hehehe

A lot has been happening here, got permission to move from the ex and now hes seeking a court injunction to ruin my life, gave all evidence to soliciors that he knew about the move and was happy with it so now the waiting game to see if we can get it sorted before I need to move. Had a burglar last night try and break in to the house via the baby room, was so scary, first time the police have ever been here quickly. Guess hysterical mum screaming down the phone that my baby is in there gets them moving :). And my car broke down so Im stuck in the wops with no transport in a high crime area with my cherubs. Fun times!

thanks hun, im doing ok, was in a lot of shock on wendesday when we found out and then thursday but ive processed it all and while it still scares the life out of me, im dealing with it a lot better....

oh god u poor thing! how scary!! :hug: im terrified of someone trying to break in when im home alone! my DH rekons im a nut case but i keep the house locked up 24.7 just incase! ;)

AFU: mum is home and seems to be well, she sounded great on the phone when i spoke to her today...

and we have another drama :rolleyes: it never rains it pours!

my 5week old nephew is in the royal childrens waiting surgery on his tummy :( poor little mite had been projectiling everywhere so SIL-to-be took him to ER at the local hospy, they said there was nothing wrong but she wasnt happy so took him to the childrens and it turns out his tummy muscles are pushing his food back up instead of down, so he is waiting for eyehole surgery to cut the muscle away from his stomach....

hopefully thats our 3rd thing and life will return to normal this week!!

MadB - Thanks heaps for the info on weight gains - I feel a lot better. I totally agree, how can they seriously expect those kinds of weight gains?! There is nothing wrong with my boy... he's healthy and happy as. Gosh, what a crappy night you had, here's hoping for more sleep tonight!

EJ - thank you, I was just being a sook. You are definately having a rougher time than what I was! How are things there now? I am so sorry to hear how tough things have been! You just can't catch a break... We've had an increase in zantac too, seems to be helping a lot actually. Glad you didn't delete your fb, we'd definately miss you on there!

Charlotte - Great news on the weight gain! She's doing so well!! Glad to hear the hearing will fix itself.

PP - I'm doing ok thanks, just a bad few days. :lol: I am with you on the vomit story, I used to get grossed out by baby spew but now I'm covered in it daily and just don't care haha. DH puts on a song and dance whenever Jacob spews on him and I'm like "ummmm, I get that at least ten times a day, get over it". :) Hows Miss Millie? It's so funny how one minute they are cracking it and then the next they are happily babbling away :) Oh I would have been sooooo mad at that woman taking the carpark but I wouldn't have been able to say anything cause I'm a bit of a wuss haha. Hope your sinus headache went quickly!

Kaz - Sounds like Will is growing beautifully! What a clever little man you have!

He's been my happy little boy again!! The bad days just seem to make me a lot more homesick. Kind of glad I wasn't there today though as I'm sure you've all heard about the earthquake tremor. DH washed my scooter today and told me to take it for a spin around the block (first time in over twelve months) and yesterday I went for my first ride on the back of his motorbike while one of my friends watched Jacob (only for about five mins - can't quite leave my boy for too long yet!!) DH bought it about two weeks before I found out I was pregnant, talk about crappy timing. So much fun :)

Scooters are so much fun, so easy to ride too :) closest thing I can have to a motorbike without a bike license! I grew up on a farm so miss riding bikes :) thank you, it's nice to have my happy boy back!

Headed up north to Ayr, my home town. One of my older brothers (a twin) is marrying his gf of about ten years finally. I went to school with her :)

Cathie - Welcome back!!! :lol: I live about three and a half hours west of Airlie/Hamilton. It's been really beautiful weather here, been able to just sit out under the tree and enjoy the breeze but yesterday it rained ALL day and was so cold....last night we had Jacob in our room in a portacot as his room doesn't have a heater (it's on the list to buy before winter) and we turned our heater on. It was 11 degrees in the lounge this morning, which is cold for us in Autumn. Winter gets down to about 0 or 1 here, not looking forward to it this year with a baby....It's alright when it's just me that I have to dress to keep warm!!

Hope everyone else is well, we're doing good here. Went to the CHN today, Jacob got another raving review, he's put on 65 grams in ten days, she's happy with that and so am I :) He's been showing off and rolling everywhere, as soon as I put him on his back he tries to roll, whether it's the changetable, the floor, his bed....:lol: he's growing up so fast... I can't leave him on the mat in the lounge unattented anymore as he rolls from one side of the mat to the other and wants to keep going....haha. On the plus side, he's doing great at tiring himself out! so day sleeps are improving all the time...

I can't remember when i last posted but Aidan ended up sick also. It was his turn on Monday night so there i go cleaning and washing everything all over again :o The boys took a good few days to start feeling better again and then Friday it was my turn. I woke up feeling a little off and had cramps and nausea all day. I kept thinking it was inevitable what was to come but thankfully an early night in bed (before 8pm) and i woke up ok. I was so worried about what i'd do with DH away if i got it also. Gastro be gone with you and never ever return :pray:

Crumpet i'm so sorry to hear of the scary news your mother and family got. My mum also had breast cancer, it was thankfuly stage one and removed before it did any damage. She had radiation and now continues to see specialists to keep an eye on her health. I hope all goes well with your mum.

WR how freaking scary for you and your little ones. Thank goodness the police did move their butts quickly to get to you. I hope all is sorted really quick and you can move your family to a safer place. Good luck xo

PP i don't know how people can moraly do that, i don't take a pram car park if i know i'm not going to use the pram. Maybe if i was going to use a trolly but i'd still feel a little guilty about parking there and having people look in the car to see a pram in there, assuming i'd done the wrong thing.

Jules enjoy being back with your family for easter and your brothers wedding. I know what you mean about having a bad day and wanting family around. On Friday when i was so scared that i'd be running to the bathroom in no time i called my Dad and asked him to come over just so i wasn't alone with the kids. I was so tired and sick i just couldn't do it on my own. Enjoy having your family close. We've upped Harper's zantac dose also and the dr i saw said that the little ones don't often grow out of the reflux until the are at least sitting or walking. We'll have to see what our little ones do hey?!

Kaz how was the first week back at work? Has Will settled ok?

MadB did you have a cup cake?? How's your funny little man? I love the things he says on fb. I love the way they think :) Hope Miri is well :)

Cathie, welcome back!! Sounds like your holiday was perfect. So glad you guys could get away.

AFU we are well finally. Harper was the first sick one so she's well and truely better now. Although since being sick she seems to be a bit more spewy after feeds, way after feeds even. So she's gone from a baby who never vomited to one that is a lot more. Would it have anything to do with the vacinations do you think? We've got the MCHN tomorrow so i'll see what she thinks. I do remember writing about her weight to you guys so tomorrow i'll be able to suss that out. No rolling and no giggling here but she loves to have a chat and blow raspberries.

Bed time for me ladies. I hope i managed to catch up with everyone :)

ETA: Almost forgot... I'm an Aunty for the 11th time!!!!! My SIL had a little girl yesterday!!!

Hello, hello, hello lovley ladies! I'm still alive! Just so busy with work and every day life. I'm so exhausted all the time. I try my hardest to sleep when the kids do but I just can't. I seem to doze on & off which kinda gets me through the days. I really want to get back to doing some sort of exercise and I think that will help but gees, I can't seem to find the motivation!

Eden is waking through the night, every night. I really don't think he's hungry cause he's barely taking a feed and his first morning feed after the middle of the night one is also very poor. I probably need to try to re settle without feeding. What do you guys think? I really don't mind giving him a quick feed as it's NEVER more than 10 mins, it's just that I can't get back to sleep again. Just as I fall asleep DS2 will wake ready to start the day.

He had his immunisation last Thursday and seemed ok, but just wouldn't sleep longer than 30/40mins. Monday afternoon I was over it so gave him a dummy to re settle him, he loved it & continued to sleep for hours. I woke him at 8pm to feed him, then he woke at 11pm & 2am & 5am. DH gave him a dummy at 5am & he slept till I woke him at 7.30. Though thankfully yesterday I didn't need the dummy at all and he slept from 12noon till I woke him at 3.30pm. So hopefully he's back to his sleeping self again.

We are heading to Sydney May 1st as Eden is being Baptised on Mothers Day with his 5month old cousin Max. It will be lovely to spend Mothers Day with all our family & close friends.

We've also been battling sickness in this household. If it's not one thing it's another. Hopefully we're at the end of it all now.

Hopefully I will drop in more often and be able to catch up with persies later.

Jules, AWESOME that you got back on your scooter! I lived in Taiwan for a year and rode a little 50cc Yamaha while I was there! DH recently got a Piaggio 150 Fly, and I’m thinking about getting my upright licence as well :) Glad Jacob is doing well on his new dose of Zantac. Millie has given up on rolling, it seems… she does circle work on her back or tummy and is starting to push herself around with her legs. It’s very funny :)

Kaz, it’s pretty cute when they find their voice. Millie will sometimes chat and carry on before going to sleep as well. Hope work is going well?

Georgi, hellooooo! I’ve missed you! I don’t know what the temp is like where you are at night, but is Eden cold? Last week when Millie was waking, it was usually because she’d kicked off her blanket when she first went to bed and was cold later.

As for us… I’m officially no longer a sympathetic vomiter. My sister was ill after her surgery last week and I didn’t bat an eyelid :) Motherhood: so many unsung benefits!

We’ve been pretty busy. We have been using the Kinderkot a lot: pasta night at my SIL’s place in the mountains on Friday, a visit to my parents-in-law on Saturday, then my BIL’s birthday lunch on Sunday. Millie conks right out in it, which is awesome. She’s too little for the sleeping bag that comes with it, so she just goes in in her wrap me up, and if it’s cold I pop a blanket over her. She slept beautifully after swimming on Monday, but yesterday did her Tuesday specialty: catnapping. We had to go to Bathurst for a funeral, and we travelled with my sister and brother-in-law. She was a champ on the way up and very good there (made lots of mourners smile, which was nice), but was totally over it on the way home and grizzled most of the way down the mountains. Poor little chook. DH was home when we got back and as soon as she saw him she was all smiles again! It was sweet. He took over last night which was nice. I still have sinus so was very grateful for that. Went to bed early and am glad that I did: Millie slept through til 6am for the third night in a row! Astounding. I’m still waking and dozing from about 3am, so if she goes back to waking I will be okay. Hoping it lasts though.

Millie has started sucking her thumb. She prefers to slurp on her right fist, but suck her left thumb. She actually squirreled her thumb out through the neck hole of her wrap me up so she could suck it! Determined... My Mum was mortified when she saw it yesterday though. Does thumb sucking at this age necessarily mean they will be a long-term thumb sucker? She thinks it will cause her to have crooked teeth etc (but hey, I wasn't a thumb sucker but had to have braces anyway...).

am feeling quite flat and down atm so i might not be in as often as usual while i try to pull my s**t together....
things have all seemed to happen at once and im not dealing so well, so looks like a trip to the gp might be in order to help me sort myself out.

mum is going well, and my nephew is on the mend as well, hopefully he will be right to come home today at some stage.

Lol at your determined little girl pixie, that's quite impressive. I wouldnt' worry about the thumb sucking - it's not like you can stop it anyway. DS used to suck on his fingers all the time, till about 9-10 months then he stopped. You just never know.

Sorry you're feeling down crumpet. I hope you can get on to your GP and get some help.

Georgi sorry i think i missed you in my last post. Good to hear you guys are over sickness aswell, such a pain when things can get passed from one to the other and then the germs seem to hang around for weeks. Hope the sleeps work out :)

PP my SIL is great and so is bubba. I can't remember if i told you guys about it or not but she was going to be induced last week just because of circumstances (DH's work and having no family where they live) but when they did a scan of bub she was only measuring about 36wks instead of 38wks. So they let her go and then on Mon morning at an appt for obs the monitor showed she was having contractions, so they hung around the hospital and after a S&S she said things got pretty full on pretty quick and within 45min she had arrived. My SIL has very quick births which was another reason for the plan to induce. She's devine and i'm so excited to have another neice :) It sounds like Millie is a great little traveller for the most part. With Aidan i too took his portacot everywhere i went and he slept anywhere too. Aidan was a thumb sucker and it hasn't been an issue, as a 4yr old he only does it when he goes to bed. For me i let it go because it was something that made him happy, he was able to comfort himself no matter where we were. It probably started at a similar age to now also. It sounds like Millie is pretty determined to do it so you might have trouble stopping her :)

Crumpet sorry to hear things are getting on top of you a bit but i hope you do get some help or things get a little easier in time. You know where we are so keep in touch when you can :)

Had a nice day today, Harper is 5.8kg (i think i was a little confused thinking she was 6kg the other week) and growing beautifuly. She's had a really happy content afternoon and is not just waking up. Time to start the dinner time/bed time routine. 2 more sleeps till we go away!!!!!

Been meaning to ask also has anyone else started using a teething neclace?? I've put Harper's on (bought it last year some time) and i'm hoping it may also help with some calmness for the long car drive we'll be doing at the end of the week. I put Charlie's on when he was 5 months and he's still wearing it now.

I put mine on DD a month or 2 ago :)

Dh is out for the night so its me and summah flying solo tonight, god those extra hands come in handy, i never realised!

Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

Crumpet sounds like you are pretty lucky to have such a caring husband. If you guys stick together like that you'll be able to accomplish so much. Pretty much what Kaz said is what i would have said, it's a pain relife that the stone provides with contact to the skin. DS2 had one from 5months and still wears his now. I have just put Harper's on so it'll be interesting to see if there's any change. I never take Charlie's off so i don't notice any differences with or without. I love them though and you'll find so many people that swear by them. My experience has been that DS1 never touched the necklace on DS2 (i was concerned about that also Kaz) and DS2 doesn't play with his around his neck at all, he takes no notice of it even being there.

Well it's time to pack ladies and get ourselves organised for the big trip tomorrow. The necklace helping Harper have a good trip is wishful thinking, she's a cheeky one in the car so i'm taking a deep breath and hoping for the best.

If i dont get back on here before we leave have a great easter and extra long weekend ladies, enjoy all the chocolate and family time.

Well it's time to pack ladies and get ourselves organised for the big trip tomorrow. The necklace helping Harper have a good trip is wishful thinking, she's a cheeky one in the car so i'm taking a deep breath and hoping for the best.

AFM: had another big chat to DH last night, i dont think he fully understands but he is doing anything he can to help me out...
told me last night he is scared becasue he doesnt know whats going on and doesnt know how to help me :crying::crying: god i felt bad for causing that in him...

ive found a councellor who specialises in post natal issues, so im going to try and get a appt with her and also see if i can get into my MCHN sooner than 2 weeks time

I'm loving his rolling but at the same time I can't take my eyes off him for long...he ends up in so many different places in the lounge!! Glad to hear everything is going well with you and Millie, sorry to hear you had to go away to a funeral but there's nothing like a beautiful baby girl to get people smiling again :) Oh my, I can't believe Millie got her hand out of her wrap me up, she is one determined little cutie!

We're doing good here. Jacob has had a WONDERFUL day of sleep here! He's even been settling himself every sleep for the last few days so I'm so happy about that. Hope it sticks!!! It's lucky he did that today because I was packing for our trip. We might be heading off at 2am to avoid the crazy traffic on the road... Jacob sleeps really well through the night so we can make better distance that way too. So I best be off to get what little sleep I can!! have a tonne of housework to do today, DH's uncle who lives in the states is coming to visit tomorrow and hasnt seen our house so best i make it spik and span....

then sunday is my birthday ( happy easter to me!:lol:) and we are going out for a picnic lunch so need to get some chicken roasted to make up rolls and stuff like that....

our car got hit by run away trolleys yesterday so we are waiting on a call from the regional manager to get that sorted as well, great timing as we are selling DH's car, so are looking for a car from his atm as well.... :rolleyes: always the way!

PP - Eden has also given up on rolling & does the circle work as you describe. No he's not waking up cold. If anything he might be too hot. It's very warm here at night, just early morning gets chilly. I use a stretchy wrap then the kiddapotomus over the top. I've given up on trying to figure out why he's waking. I'm just going with it for now. Yay for Millie sleeping till 6am. Lucky you! FX it lasts. Eden sucks his two fingers, alot. He does it when he's sleeping in the pram not wrapped. I wouldn't be worried about the thumb sucking just yet. I'm pretty sure it's just their age. I guess when she does get teeth there would be more of a concern

CRUMPET - Big hugs for you. Hope you feel better soon. The amber necklaces are awsome. The thing is that when the body heats up, it releases the amber from the stone which is then absorbed through the skin. The lighter the beads, the stronger the healing properties. I also bought one for myself for my sore back. It did seem to work on me too. My DH was very sceptic until he saw it working on DS

MADB - Yeah I am hoping it's an age thing. I know loads of babies that started waking again at 4months so they were put on solids. I'm not prepared to try it cause he's clearly not ready and it's not bothering me THAT much. It may not even work either so then i've started him for nothing. Yeah we're all well, for now...Thanks. Hope it lasts

EJ - Yeah I bet you know all about the germs passing, having three kids it must be harder to handle. I got a Kenwood mixer for Christmas, but I haven't used it yet. Have a great trip! I haven't started the teething necklace yet. Actually I've leant it to a friend as her 18mth old has been feral with his teeth coming. She loves it

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL! Our very good greek friends are having a do at their place which my aunty, uncle & cousins are also coming too (they're greek too), so it's gonna be a great party. Looking forward to it.

DS1 woke at midnight to go to the toilet, then when I put him to bed he asked if the easter bunny has been. Too cute. He had a ball collecting all his eggs from the garden this morning.

We've just got back from spending a few days at my parents. Very nice. Got through 4 of the 6 finalists for red wine of the year in my parents' wine club (so far the Cab shiraz in my pick), myabe next weekend we'll get to taste the last two. Very serious business :)

Sleep still sucks, though DD did a 90-odd minute sleep this morning. That was nice. Totally unexpected and after an absolutely dreadful night. The rest of the day we just got micro naps though, so she totally reverted to form :lol:
Tonight DH is going to sleep with her whiel I sleep out the back and see if that helps.

Crumpet, hope you’re feeling better in yourself. It can be very difficult to cope when your family is unwell, so get all the help you need. Having someone outside your situation to speak to can really help. Happy birthday for yesterday :)

MadB I just ate a chocolate rabbit in about 3 bites. (I gave up chocolate for Lent!) So don’t feel bad about cupcake eatage :) Mmmmm red wine. I really miss it! I can’t drink most wines anymore as I have a sulphur sensitivity. I’ve found a preservative free red, but it’s pretty ordinary. I love blends and it’s a plain Shiraz.

EJ and MadB thanks for the feedback on thumbsucking. I had no intention of trying to stop her, I just needed something to tell my Mum when she starts in about it! Turns out my DH and his brother were long term thumb suckers, and both have perfectly straight teeth without ever having had braces. I agree EJ, she is really soothed by it and frankly I’d prefer it to a dummy… at least with her thumb it’s attached and I won’t have to go fishing around the cot for it in the middle of the night :) I have bought her an amber necklace and am going to start putting it on her full time. I had it on her a couple of times but it sort of got caught up on her chins (yup, she has two :)). Now that she’s growing a bit more there’s more neck available!

Well I’m starting to freak out a little about our trip. About a month and a half out and we’re not even close to organized (previous trips we have been insanely well organized). DH even needs to renew his Aussie passport! I have booked appointments for Millie leading up to going away though, which is something – she has her 6 month check at the clinic on 17 May, then her shots at the GP, then the follow up with her cardiologist in early June. You have to book about a month in advance at the MCHN now – they combined two local council areas to “make things more efficient” and it has become an absolute shambles :rolleyes:

Anyway, Easter was lovely, despite my having NO voice (thanks to a week of sinus and hayfever, grr), with a drive up the mountains to my SIL’s place for lunch. You’d think, with her being grandchild/niece/cousin #19 that no one would be particularly interested, but Millie was passed around and cooed over all day, and was beautifully behaved. Hope you all had a beautiful day with your little ones :)

Well we had a lovely easter. Ate & drank way too much of course. I had a full nights sleep last night... The first in ages. I've been making sure that Byron doesn't drink too much from 5pm to ensure he doesn't wake up for a toilet run at midnight! And the last two nights I have given Eden a bottle of expressed milk for his last feed to see if it helps him get through the night. He woke at 5.50am this morning. Yay! Though it is a pain having to give him a bottle, then expressing but I figure if I can get him back into the routine of sleeping through, then I'll stop the bottle & hope he has formed a new routine

Such a crappy day here.. Raining. Got some running around to do before heading to sydney on sunday

thank you for my bday wishes, i had a fab day! went for a picnic and the weather was awsome so we really enjoyed the day!!

in other news....

DH rang the councellor today to make my appt, and she rang me and we had a chat, and ive got my first appt on saturday morning :hide: while im "happy" the wheels are in motion, im cr@pping my dacks at the same time. ;)

summah has yet another runny nose so our comes the vaporiser AGAIN :rolleyes: and ive got her some of the brauers runny nose relief so fingers crossed it goes away quickly!

hopefully next week things will be a bit quieter and ill be able to do a more excting post and some personals!

My Easter included dumping Hannah off at my parents (lol) and DP and I heading down to Melbourne to see a Disturbed concert. Awesome!
Hannah's doing well, she's starting to get hungry which is frustrating. She's not interested in a bottle, but she's hungry.

Doing heaps of her exercises to strengthen her neck and back. Which basically includes HEAPS of tummy-time (she's not a fan, lol) and having a rolled up nappy under her armpits to minimise gravity.
At the moment she's playing on the floor with her pants off, which is sometimes likes sometimes doesn't.
Sounds like she's getting tired.

What are your routines like?? Hannah is usually up for 60-90mins with a 2 1/2 hour sleep. I think she'd sleep for longer, but I'm worried that she won't sleep at night.

yeah poor kid gets blocked up about once a month atm.....

summah is the same, HATES tummy time but im doing it more and more for shorter bursts and she is improving a lot, herMCHN will be impressed! :lol:

with summahs routine, she put herself into the routine we follow, and i have made sure we stuck to it. i need some structure so a flexible routine works for us.
i dont stress if she sleeps a bit longer or even less than she should, or if she feeds a bit early or late....

our typical day looks like this:

730am: awake and bottle
8am: play time
930: sleep
1130am: awake and bottle
12pm: play time
130pm: sleep
4pm: awake and bottle
430pm: play time
6pm: nana nap for 20-30 mins
645pm:bath
7pm:bottle and bed

those times are give or take half an hour but thats what i base our day around.

she sleeps from 730pm-730am..... i work on a 12hour day, so if she is up at 730, bed is at 730, if she wakes at 830 then its bed at 830.... we find it works really well for us.

is she drinking all of her feeds? and is she bottle or breast fed?

She's formula fed, when she got home from hospital my milk dried up. It reduced alot going to Royal Children's to Bendigo SCN. But then when we got home after 2 weeks in SCN my milk was gone. I continued expressing every 3 hours but was only get 10ml and Hannah was hungry, so on to formula she went.

She's just gone from 120ml to 150ml but she doesn't really seem interested in a bottle today. She's leaving about 30ml in the bottom. She's getting pretty grumpy, too.
She's back in bed now.
Its just getting frustrating that she's getting grumpy but won't drink her bottle properly. Maybe she's just being a grump, lol.

summah has a 150ml bottle when she wakes in the morning then her lunch ans afternoon ones are 200ml and her night one is 250ml....

most of the time she drinks them but generally once a day i have a bottle with 20ml and a bottle with 10ml left in it....
