Happy birthday to a very gorgeous yummy mummy for today .... :happybirthday: .... Hope Millie spoils you with lots of sleep and smiles
Helloooooo, lovely ladies! Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Jules, it’s funny but I haven’t been as desperate for choc as I have in other years… I’ve eaten a smallish bunny and a bunch of tiny eggs… my husband ate my bilby (nearly went :ninja: on him)… what I’m really enjoying is having hot chocolate again :) Can’t wait to hear about the wedding! Glad you got some pampering in.
Ooooh MadB, a tooth! Hope you have a great camping trip. Hope it’s better camping weather on your side of the continent!
Hi Georgi! I hope you have a great trip down and that the lousy weather doesn’t interfere too much.
Kaz, hope Pip had a wonderful birthday and that all those parties didn’t wear you out too much! Dark amber, yummy… I think I am going to get an amber necklace as well. Always swore I’d never couple dress with a daughter, but I guess couple accessorizing is okay :)
Hi Charlotte, jeepers I hope Hannah is okay. What formula is she on? Millie is on AR for silent reflux. She did the same when she developed it, refused feeds and screamed like crazy so hoping it all gets sorted out for you soon. Sounds like you have great support and are managing so well.
EJ welcome back!
Crumpet, glad your appointment went well and that you are working on things.
The weight thing is funny… I have in my wardrobe everything from size 8 to size 14. Some days I look in the mirror and think “heeeeey… you’re one hot mama!” Then other days it’s just… blah. I don’t do myself any favours though, I don’t drink enough water or eat enough fruit, and hardly exercise. Some day I’ll get the motivation to be a bit healthier! (I write this watching the Biggest Loser final… )
We’ve had a great few days, I’m finally getting better and turned 33 today! Had an awesome day – DH took the day off, we took Millie to swimming and she was PERFECT – no crying today! We had lunch with my sister and her DH, Millie and I had a big nap, and we’ve had tea and toast for dinner (it was a big lunch!). Not the most glamourous of days, but possibly my best birthday yet :) Oh and I bought myself new boots yesterday so I felt very trendy at lunch. DH usually gives me a gorgeous handbag – I have been missing my lovely bags so he bought me a stunning new nappy bag. Ah, the simple life!
I hope you’re all well!

Oh my God. It felt like only a minute ago that I was saying how Hannah is too young for teeth. Her gum has swollen up his afternoon and she can't keep her fingers out of her mouth. Too the point of sticking her fingers down her throat and dry retching! lol
She's doing lots of whining. Off to get some bonjela in the morning.
Not sure if a tooth will come through, but its definately moving around.
Just what I need! Hannah never does ANYTHING half-@rsed. She's a 'one in, all in' kind of bub. Just like me and her daddy, lol.
She's on Nan Gold, at the moment Pixie
Well, I better go get her ready for bed. She has barely slept since 4 o'clock.
Happy days.
Where has my angel gone!?
Charlotte - if you don't have any teething rings handy, a washer that you've rinsed in boiled water and then popped in the freezer will sooth - they just chew/suck on it. Also great during heat waves :D Hope she settles for you soon.
After 2 days of parties, poor Will couldn't settle this arvie, ended up wearing him in the picolo and he finally settled, thank goodness!!!! lots of little catnaps.
Sounds like you were spoilt PP!
night all
Time to catch up...
Georgi how did you go visiting family friends? It sounded like a great get together. How's Eden's night sleeps going? I don't think i've ever had more than 5 hours over night. The last few nights Harper has gone down really easily for the night and slept for the 5ish hour mark but then after that she's waking every couple of hours. I'm thinking it's a mixture of tiredness and loving being i her own bed but then also being used to having me there for all the feeds she wants as i had her in bed with me a lot while we were camping so as to not disturb anyone. I'll give it some time and see how the nights pan out. Hope all goes well with the baptisim. Will keep an eye out for photos.
Kaz sounds like you guys had a really busy weekend. Did Pip enjoy his big days?? Poor Aidan talks about his birthdays been and gone and ones to come 'tomorrow' all the time, a year is such a long time for the little ones. I hope you feel somewhat settled into the work routine now. How are the renos going?
Charlotte has Hannah settled a little for you? Have you been able to increase her zantac does and has it made a difference? We've increased Harper's dose twice since she started taking it at 7 weeks, i've noticed the signs each time and was quick to get on top of it so we didn't have to go backwards at all.
Cathie i saw the holiday photos on fb. Looks like it was great and the kids loved it. Even Charlie boy with that big grin on his face :)
Crumpet i hope you are feeling positive with the steps being made. Things got all a little too much for me with some family issues just before i had DS2, i ended up having some counseling and i definately benifited from it. I hope you get to where you want to be in time. How's the busy week going with DD? I hope it's a good one for you :)
PP sounds like you had a great day being with your family for your bday. Loved the swimming video. Glad you're feeling better also :)
MadB hope all is good with you guys. Any change on the sleep side of things? Sounds like she just loves to be curled up with her mumma :)
Jules sounds like you've had a great week, i love hearing you talk about your SIL so fondly. I had what i thought was a pretty good relationship with my brothers partner but it changed, she's hurt me a fair bit and i don't think it could ever be the same again. You guys are so lucky. How's your gorgeous little man?
Did i get everyone? I hope so there's quite a few of us.
I feel like i'm pretty much settled back in, i washed while we were away a few times but it didn't seem to make a difference to the pile i had when we got home. Merimbula was great, so beautifula and relaxing and we'll definately be going back. A great caravan park for the kids. Harper loved camping and was an angel. The drive there was much better than i expected but the drive home was a challenge. All good though it's all to be expected. She slept pretty well, lots of cat naps during the day and the nights were fine but i had her with me a fair bit just so we wouldn't disturb anyone. Would do it again as soon as we get the chance.
Harper is almost 5 months now and she's great. Chubbed up a bit, possibly from all those night feeds  But she's perfect. She's had some rosey cheeks but i haven't really had a look in her mouth for any teeth movement, she enjoys chewing on toys now though. She's self settling really well and is almost easier than the boys when they are moody which is quite a bit lately as they are still quite tired from our holiday.
All is good with me, i'm probably one of those who you see and think, how on earth can she look like that with a 5 month old :hide: I'm not flab free by any means but i think it's just me. I'm sure my time will come later in life. I have absolutely no time for exercise though so if it wasn't for my body being like it is it could be completely different. I had a dr appt yesterday with a little bit of an embarrassing questions for him. Was going to mention it to you guys but was a bit embarrassed again. I had soreish itching bb's and nipples and didn't know what it was. There was no whiteness to them so thrush (which was the only thing i could think of being a problem) was out of the question. Anyway i think it's dermatitis on my bb's :o The cream i was given has definatley taken the irritation out of it. Gosh the things we have to go through.
Had some sad new this week. The girlfriend of mine who was pregnant with their first has miscarried. We are very close but she lives overseas, i wish i could give her a big hug but it's obviously out of the question. I've never had any experience with this or known someone close to me who has. I'm absolutely devistated for them. Nature can be cruel sometimes.
So it's a long but but i think i'll be able to slip back in now and be up to date with everyone. Hope you're all well and having a good week girls :)
Oh my what a night :o
Harper wanted to feed all night. At least i think that's what she wanted... :dunno:
I -for once- was in bed early, her first wake was 10:30ish and from then on it was every hour or so. One time there when i actually took notice of the clock she'd been in bed half an hour before she was calling for us again. I think it was the feeds she wanted as she'd jump on the bb as soon as she could. But then again after a few minutes of sucking she'd be blowing raspberries on the bb. I think it was a bit about also being in bed with us. She was just being a cheeky little monster last night. I think i put her in bed about 4ish and she slept till 7am after that.
Lets just hope she doesn't make a habit of that carry on. I'm fine though, had it been back when the boys were that age i probably would have gotten really furstated at it but i just went with it, would have loved a bit more sleep but all is good ;)
Wow, EJ. Sounds rough!!
Hannah's doing OK. The only problem with giving her a chew toy instead on bonjela is that she hasn't yet found her hands (physio keeping an eye on that. She should have found them by now....). She chews on her fingers, but won't reach for anything or grab a toy and put that in her mouth.
No sign of a throat infection!! She's gotten better, back on full feeds. She has 120ml and then a 10-30ml top up before bed. She's alot happier.
Only her nappy's are really slimy and green. Something strange. And very watery. To the point where she just sneezed and filled her nappy.
Very very gross. Green and watery and slimey and stinky.
hehehe, I went into her room to get her this morning and I opened her door and thought "Hmmm, smells like poo in here" and pulled aside the mozzie netting over the basinette and the smell hit me like a brick!! Man!! Such a little girl, such a big smell.
Her nappy has only been slimy this morning. Hopefully it settles down.
Oh and I rang the surgeon re: Zantac. And spoke to his secretary and he was meant to ring me back, but didn't....
Hmmmm maybe it'll get rougher, she's just woken up after about half an hour in bed again Grrrrrrr
Just ordered a burlesque costume on the internet!!! I have a dress up hens night to go to in two weeks. Could be veerrrryyyy interesting :p
Hi girls!!
Having big issues with my net or laptop or both *rolls eyes*
I'll be a bit MIA until it's sorted, but I'll be reading along on my mob but it's a bit painful to post from it...
All is gOing well this week, feeling so much better but its prob just coz I'm so busy I dont have time to think about other things!
Summah had her 4 month check up today (a week short of 5 months mind u) and she is 6.5kg and 62cm long!
All in all, a happy, average baby :D just the way I like it!!!
Hope ur all well, I'll keep up as much as I can! :)
Hi all!
Yup, Kaz I really was spoiled. And Millie has been a gem all week so perhaps it's a special b'day/Mothers Day combo gift :) Has Will been settling better?
EJ glad to hear that you're settling back in at home, but  at the big night! Hope lil miss gives you a bit more sleep tonight. LOVE the idea of a burlesque costume! I hope there's feathers involved! Sorry to hear about your friend, one of my friends went through the same two weeks ago. It's heartbreaking for her.
Charlotte I'm so glad Hannah is on the mend. Maybe whatever bug she had is causing the stinky poos? I have to say, that is one thing about having clear sinuses again that kinda sucks... I couldn't smell anything for two weeks!
Hey Crumpet, whoohoo on Summah's weigh in! Sounds like she's doing well :)
Millie has been invited to my Goddaughter's fancy dress b'day party in early June so am on the look out for costume ideas :) Might get some animal print fabric and make her an outfit! Any ideas? We went and saw Rio today, Millie LOVED the music and was waving her arms and bouncing around to it.
DH is off to soccer training tonight - leftover pasta and Glee night, whoohoo!
Hope you're all well.

Hi PP Sounds like Millie loves going to the movies, I've never been brave enough to take any of my babies to the movies.
Hi everyone :hello:
Well charlie boy has a cold so he has been sooo miserable the last couple of days and nights. So the colds begin in my house yay NOT !!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no on the cold - Will is so, so snuffly. I'm exhausted, DS1 has been climbing into our bed and is so very restless, I'm amazed if he actually gets any "rest" while sleeping.
Have been removing heaps of snot from his nose. Stuffs up b/f though.
Oh good o Millie dancing! I work days of Lullaby Sessions at our local cinema.
Crumpet – Is Summah feeling better? Jacob came down with a cold yesterday :( poor little man is so snuffly. What did you end up doing to help Summah with her recovery? I’m so glad to hear things went well with the counsellor, good luck with working things through and feeling back to yourself again. Great news on Summah’s four month check up! Great job!
MadB – Yay for a tooth! Hope it comes through soon. I’m a bit late to wish you luck with camping, but I hope you’re having a great time :)
Georgi – Hope you’re having a great trip away. Jacob is definitely taking a few days to settle back in, but he’s also battling a cold too so the poor little man has a lot going on. We’ll get back into it soon I’m sure.
Kaz – Sounds like things have been busy with all Pips parties…what a lucky little boy!! Hope Will is doing well!
Charlotte – I hope Hannah is feeling a little better, sounds like you’ve had a lot on your plate with things lately!! Hope you’re doing ok, sounds like you’re handling things well.
EJ – Welcome back!!! Missed you around here :) I’m sorry to hear about the relationship with your SIL, I actually have a really great relationship with my brothers wives and my other brothers girlfriend but DH has two sisters and while I’m semi close with one, the other really doesn’t like me. I think we all have to have one in the family…she’s even gone as far as to call me ‘the dragon’ when she didn’t realise I was listening. It definitely makes things hard but I have to try for DH’s sake. Hope your bb’s recover soon, the things we go through as women!! Glad to hear the trip away went well, I loved the pics!! It looks sooo beautiful there. I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, life can be so cruel :(
PP – Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday!! I’m so glad Millie has been on her best behaviour while you celebrate your birthday AND your first mothers day! :) Haha, nappy bags…I think I’m onto my fourth! I just can’t seem to settle on one that I’m happy with!! I hope you enjoyed your night watching glee, I am getting so addicted to their songs… they do an even better job than most of the originals!! I am a total music lover…did some DJ work and was a radio announcer at a local radio station for a few years
I think that brings me up to date…sorry if I missed anyone or anything. I’ve been home since Tuesday afternoon but sooooo busy with catching up on washing etc (still not caught up though!!) Jacob is still settling into home life again, the first night was HORRIBLE, but every day is getting a little better. If only I could help him get over his cold quicker!! Everything went well back home, the wedding was absolutely beautiful! My sister in law was picture perfect and my brother was so incredibly happy. Jacob was on his best behaviour, although he did have the hiccups the whole ceremony  but he slept through the reception, only opened his eyes briefly every time the noisy MC spoke and everyone clapped
Gosh, all this talk about weight is funny, what I'd give to be a size 10!! I'm actually on a health kick, MAJOR. I'm so sick of carrying weight, I've been walking every day and eating healthy and I'm five kilos down (in two and a bit weeks)!! Long way to go but it's a start! :)
Best be off to bed, DH is on afternoon shift so not home till 10pm and leaves at 10am, I miss his help when he’s on these shifts!!
Hope everyone is well!! xoxo
Well Hannah is FINALLY better, I think.
She had massive diarrhea on Thursday and plenty of vomits yesterday. She was really off her feeds and it was a very very very very long day.
But she seems heaps better.. The GP seems to think it was just a bug of some sort.
I'm exhausted.
The cat had fleas and had been spreading them through the house, so the house got bombed yesterday so Hannah and I went to my parents so she wasn't breathing all the chemicals in. Gave Titan a flea bath last night and a brand new flea collar. So its all good now!
Happy Mothers Day for tomorrow to all you yummy mummies!
Charlotte - I'm glad to hear Hannah is better! Poor little chicken. I hope you've managed to get some rest... yay for fixing the cats fleas....can't imagine that would have been fun.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! to all you lovely mums :grouphug:. I hope you've all been spoilt rotten and had well behaved babies today. :) xoxo
It has been a nice lazy Mothers Day here. Harper has been in a beautiful mood all day, a delightful little chicken with smiles and excitement all day. She had a couple of terrible nights waking every couple of house. I called the MCHN, not sure why now that i think of it but all she could offer was sleep school. The last 2 nights have been completely different though so i'm pretty sure we're all sorted.... until next time :)
Time for bed i want to watch the Blood Brothers movie that's on tonight, i read the book not long ago so really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone had a great day xo
Hi all!
We survived camping. It was fun, especially for DS, and DD seemed to enjoy all the new things to look at. I spent most of the time standing around bobbing with her in the ergo  What a holiday - I'm exhausted! She slept pretty well last night, so maybe she was glad to be home again.
Hope you and your babies are all well :) I forgot it was mother's day yesterday. Was woken at 5:30 (why DD woke up that early every day I don't know, it wasn't even light!), then got up and did the dishes, then made breakfast. Wandered over to chat to friends we went with who reminded me it was mother's day. bit D'OH moment - I should have kicked DH out of bed to do breakfast! oh well.
Glad your camping trip went well. When DD is a bit older and maybe before I squirt out another kid I think we might go camping. Camping is fun. Usually. :-)
Hannah's doing well. Back on full feeds. Nappies basically back to normal. No vomits. And a very happy little girl. Got my angel back!!
Yesterday she even slept from 7pm to 9am. What a fantastic mother's day pressie that was!! DP and I got to wake up a bit and have a nice long snuggle in bed before dealing with her.
She still appears to be teething a little bit. Her bottom gum is still a bit swollen. Gave in the other night and gave her some bonjela. I only put the tiniest little bit in her mouth and she started gaggin and dry retching. It was actually quite funny. Its horrible stuff. ;)
She's doing soo well with holding her head up so Physio should be very happy when we go to Melbourne on Wednesday.
Got Physio and her 2nd surgical review. Should be an interesting meeting. I'm really looking forward to it.
Just went out and collected the mail and her cardiology report has finally been sent to us.
Basically it was everything we knew only with bigger words, lol. Cardio doesn't want to see her again because she's fine.
It mentions the small hole in her heart, but nothing to worry about. Basically its from when a bub is still in the womb, the blood doesn't go to the lungs it bi-passes back to the heart and when you're born that hold closes as its no long used. Hannah's hasn't quite closed but 10% of the population has a hole exactly the same. Hell, you could have one and never know! It was 6mm and now its 2mm and still closing.
Well, I'll let you know how she goes with the surgeon. Fingers crossed she goes well and he gives us the go ahead to start solids soon.
