thanks guys - i dont have any trouble with my nipples though, or can it go undetected there?
little l - the stomach calm was ok'd by the pharmacist as she was getting such bad indigestion from feeding funny to avoid the thrush - but on the bottle it gives doses for babies under 6 months anyway, doesnt say to avoid it? oh and the black paw paw ointment is petrochemical free, the red one is not! nasty...... we use the balck one too, neutraceuticals or soemthing its called, you cant get it everywhere unfortunately....
claire - matisse is especially settled after a bath, if she gets in with me! we have a swish around (and i get to use all her products, i smell like baby too lol) and a bit of a bf in the bath is soo nice
sara - enjoy your movie, gosh i dont think im close to being able to leave our "little la" yet (thats what her cries sound like - la, la, la)
-
back from the health nurse and my little piggy has put on 1kg almost exactly in 2 weeks, she was 3.3 now she is 4.3kg, noice!!
kitten i'd put it on anyway just as a preventative, its not nice to have trust me, i had it so bad last time i was in tears come feeding time, mine went red and cracked, itchy and so damn sore.
nip it in the butt asap
yeah pure nauticals is the good paw paw, i get it from health food shop.
sara enjoy your movie hun, and a big WOOHOO for the all nighter!!
-
thanks ladies. well dd1 is off fpr a sleepover so today and tomorrow im sitting around topless with nilstat drops on my boobs. going to re order in liven as soon as i can too.
tmi q - re dtd - have you? how long after baby did you wait?
i am so scared! but feeling like i need to do it, so toey!
-
kitt3n - dtd- use lots of lube the 1st time sorry if thats TMI Aimee was 3 weeks old, it was really good (especially compared to how uncomfertable it was the last few times during the pregnancy lol). LOL on being toey I think hormones have something to do with it becuase I am so tired but still toey. I had no tears this time though. After dd1 I had stitches that was about 4 weeks but a bit uncomfertable and I didn't enjoy it much, it was about 8weeks that I started to enjoy it after dd1.
littlelalla- Aimee sleeps on her tummy during the day she settles so much quicker, during the day she sleeps in the lounge so I can keep an eye on her, she is also super strong in the neck arms compared to dd1
ll80 - well done on your little piggies weight gain
Aimee had a pretty good night last night up at 12 but changed fed and settled in about 25min then up at 5 a bit more unsettled though. It was tony's turn to settle her I think he was hoping for another 7hr sleep, too bad lol. The movie was good, we saw twilight, having lunch together was loveley. I did ring mum once to check on things but it went really well. Aimee is 8 weeks old now so I went to the gym for the 1st time this morning and I feel so much better for it, happier and more energy already lol. I am also trying to eat better both for me and Aimee after not even thinking about what I ate over the last 2 months. Im going to try and lose this baby weight earlier this time while I have breastfeeding on my side, going to speak to my gp about it this week, I know you are not supposed to lose more than 1/2kg while bf a week and I doubt ill even manage that, slow and steady and Ill get there hopefully before she is 1.
Hope everyone is doing well and getting sleep when they can
-
Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well and getting some sleep.
Jaycen has thrush on his tongue too, we were told to try a bit of glycerine on his dummy a couple of times a day. I wonder if it will work on nipples too?
I've been struggling to express enough for him for a feed at the moment - he's started having 170mls at a time instead of his previous 100mls, the little piggy.
He was very (painfully-screaming-at-the-top-of-his-lungs) constipated from saturday lunch time through to sunday lunch time, we gave him 50mls of warm pre-boiled water and added a bit of extra water to his formula top-up, and he was a completely different baby on sunday afternoon, all happy and smiling lol
He got weighed yesterday morning, and he's put on 448 grams in the past week, he was just under his birth weight when we left hospital and now he weighs 4.224kg's!
Anyways, have to go and feed him again before he starts crying big time. Hope the rest of you have a good day (and a decent sleep!).

no DTD here as yet, though I do feel like it I just can't be bothered not to mention I bet as soon as things heated up Elise would wake up. I think my stitches have healed but might leave it for a bit longer just to make sure everything is a-okay down there.
I need to lose weight too Sara, so does DH, we are trying to figure out how we go about it, I might ask my gp next week when I go in, good idea. I need to lose a good 15 probably 20 kgs, I havent even tried to put on my pre preg jeans, I know they won't fit and I'll cry lol
jenna - who told you to put glycerine on the dummy, I wonder if it will work or not, I don't know if it's an antifungal, I'm curious now, might have to google lol.
Good to hear he's more settled and not in pain anymore, so hard when they struggle with poo and wind I hate hearing them in pain.
-
ll80 - A close friend of ours told us she used it for all 3 of her kids who had thrush pretty bad and it worked on them, so we thought we would give it a try. You can get it in the medicinal isle at safeway. So far Jaycen seems to be settling a bit better today, but we're going to ask the MCHN about it on monday.
-
interesting, let us know if it clears it up or not.
-
yes, sounds interesting jenna, not sure if i would want her ingesting glyceine though?
it does seem to be clearing up - but i am sure we will need another bottle of nilstat.
a couple of woo hoos - last night we didnt get out of bed at all, she slept from 10pm to 7am with two "almost" dream feeds (ie she stirs and i give her the boobie before she fully wakes, she feeds so much nicer this way) and didnt need a nappy change till the morning!!!
also very proud of myself for breastfeeding in the middle of our local rockclimbing centre. I made a promise to myself, i dont care where i am or who is around, if my bayb is hungry she will be fed - and i did it! So much more confident now, used to go hide in those smelly parents rooms with DD!.
havent DTD - suggested it to hubby and he was too tired last nght WTF? must admit i got a bit upset about that....
sararose - slow and steady is definately the way. I didnt monitor my weight after dd1 - just ate well and walked, walked, walked, it melted off (fingers crossed thsi time too, oh but i have to start walking! lol)
have a great day ladies
-
woo hoo Aimee slept from after her 9:30 feed to 5am!!! I fed her at 5 had a play and she was asleeep at 6 so I went to the gym. I never thought I would be so happy to wake at 5am lol
kitt3n - those dreamy feeds are great aren't they, it is so much easier to go back to sleep if you aren't up trying to settle bubs. I would have been upset about him being to tired too, I can understand the tiredness but men don't think about how it makes you feel as a woman when they say they aren'[t in the mood. Mabye he is nervous about hurting you or just plain tired? Hope itsgood for you both when it happens
Jenna - I would be careful using too much glycerin as it can cause loose bowels and glycerin is full of sugar which thrush feeds on, hope he is better soon

Hi All
Hope all is well. Maya is doing fine. She has started to sleep through the night (well when she feels like it lol). I normally waker her up for a feed around 10pm and if we are lucky she will sleep till at least 5.30am. Last night she was a total bugger and didn't sleep till 2am. Then I didn?t get any sleep because DH wouldn't stop snoring, then DD work up as DH was leaving for work at 6.30 :(
Maya had her 6week check yesterday (at almost 9w due to the xmas hols lol) and she is 5kg and I think 58cm long (DH has misplaced the blue book...).
She also had her 2month needles today :( I cried way more then her - poor little thing. She screamed when the needles went in, had a few sniffles after and then went back to have a look around the office. Took me longer to get over it then she did! Such a good girl. She had 2 needles and some drops.
I would recommend that everyone get the whopping cough booster as there is a massive outbreak of whopping cough going around. The midwives recommended to me that grandparents, aunt, uncles and mums and dads get the booster (basically anyone who is in constant contact with the baby). I now know 4 separate people who has whopping cough!!!
Re DTD - we waited about 4weeks before trying (I had a c-section). I was very nervous to begin with but it all went ok although its been a while since we had to fiddle with a condom lol. Its been nice going back to have dtd for us again, not for trying to get preggers or being so pregnant. I was a bit toey for a few weeks but now its all meh again lol
Oh almost forgot to mention when we went to the paediatrician (dif. Doc then we saw in hospital as he is away) he mentioned that we need to get ultrasound done on Maya's hips as she might have an issue and seemed surprised that the original doc didn't mention anything about it!!! ****es me off.
And because its the cool thing to have atm Maya also has tongue thrush :)

hopefully I get time to say what I want to, Elise just doesn't like to be put down the last couple days.
I had a horrid day yesterday Elise wouldn't let me put her down and Abby was being a royal pain in the butt, she has suddenly developed a horrible attitude, real little diva, which DH and I are not impressed with at all, I don't know if it's an age thing, starting school thing or new sister thing but it's not on, yesterday she called me a "stupid mummy and get lost". I like them much better when all they do is cry, god help me with two teenage girls.
Only a couple weeks til she starts school.
By the end of the day I was wrecked and Elise wouldn't sleep she was awake from 730pm til she finally dropped off at midnight, she woke again at 4am and wouldn't go back to sleep until 6am then we slept until 10am while Abby lay next to us in bed watching ABC kids. She isn't crying or whingy, just awake and happy, alert looking around, she will only cry if you put her down for anything longer than 10 mins. I don't know what's up with that, hopefully a awake/sleeping pattern will sort itself out in the next few weeks. I do love giving lots of cuddles and an excuse not to vacuum during the week.
SO lovely that these other babies are sleeping well at night though, definitely makes a difference for the mental health.
Mel - I so hear you on the snoring hubby, mine is so damn loud, he gets a few good elbows when I am trying to get back to sleep after a feed, sometimes he's so loud I just can't sleep either.
Needles suck don't they, hurts us more than it does them.
AT least someone picked up on her hips hopefully it won't come to anything and she is fine.
Kitten - Yay!! on the dream feeds, I've done one but she would only take one side my other poor boob was ready to explode by next feed.
I hope hubby got his act together and you got some nookie last night ;)
OH AND Please everyone pray for heaps of rain to hit Mt Isa, they have had floods and if they get more rain the roads won't open and that means no one coming to stay with us, so I am going to do a naked rain dance in the backyard lol.
-
pmsl ll80      rain on Mt Isa!!!!!

hi all
Mel, Mia just had her injections and drops too. It was horrible, I held both her hands and when the needle went in she jumped and squeezed my hand really tight! And screamed. My poor baby, I cried too.
Mia had an ultrasound on her hips too, we are getting the results Tues. I hope Maya is ok. Is she sleeping much after the needles. Mia is very sleepy!
ll80- hope your little princess treats her Mummy a bit nicer.Do you put her in time out at all? Or is she too old for that.
Im so jealous of all you ladies whose babies are sleeping through!! Last night we had a shocker of a night, Mia wouldnt go to sleep until 11pm, i took her for a walk, put her in the sling, fed her, bathed her...no sleep. Then she woke up at 3am...and was wide awake, no going back to sleep for her. I was determined not to put her in our bed, but tonight I cant give a stuff, I just want to sleep. Last night I was in tears, I just didnt know why she wouldnt sleep.
And then emotional today because Im tired/ Mias needles. Ahh the joys.
-
skye- i put her in time out alright, on the stairs, usually when i resort to time out it's a matter of life or death lol, for her. She has been really good today though, personality change much and she doesn't even have PMT yet.
Mia and Elise must be on the same wavelength sounding very much the same, I had tears last night too, tiredness gets to you after a while so big hugs I'm right there with ya
-
ll80 - lol on the rain dance, hope it works for you :D Jasmine is still being a little turd, hit me and threw her bowl at me yesterday plus the screaming and saying no to everything but she went to family day care today and was well behaved there and has been better tonight thank god. I can't even think about the teenage years with two girls yet, I think I might have a breakdown
mel and skye- I am not looking forward to the vaccinations, Aimee is due next week and I am not looking forward to it
Aimee slept til 5 again  3 nights out of 4 this week, my boobies are so sore and full by morning though. She is much happier now I think the reflux is settling and she is much better at bringing up wind, she is almost beating her dads burps lol. Finally got the house clean, it seems to have gotten away from me and having tony at home it seems to get messier, kind of glad he is back to work monday. Im sure I'll be missing him come tuesday though lol
-
hey girls - sounds like a common theme at the mo - older siblings playing up! my second ds is acting up more than usual - got to really watch him with ochre and that makes life hard when you need to shower etc. at least my oldest ds is older and more responsible and can keep him occupied - well, most of the time!! on the sleep front ochre has been slightly better. he is doing a 4 hour block in the night now and i'm so grateful for it. he has been VERY windy lately and i'm putting it down to the antibiotics im taking for mastitis as his farts smell terrible!! just finished them last night so hopefully we see an improvement.
as for weight im a couple of kilos off my pre-pregnancy weight - i always drop it off rather quick but then i start putting it back on as i crave sugar when i breastfeed. so if i can stay right off the chocolate and stuff i might be able to get rid of the belly fat!! i'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to exercise so i've got to watch what i eat!
i expressed milk for the first time yesterday so dh had some on stand by when i went to the hairdressers. o wasn't too sure of the bottle at first but managed to finish most of it. i just bought an adiri bottle. it's great for bubs who are mainly breastfed. when i expressed i got about 60mls on an already fed boob so i guess i have loads of milk! what do babies drink at the moment per feed on formula or ebm??
thinking of dtd tonight!! ochre was 7 weeks on wednesday and im feeling much better down there - hope i can remember how to do it hahaha!!! sorry for no personals - way too much to get back to and if i dont get off this computer right now i will never get anything done today!!! xxx
-
littlelalla - aimee has between 80 and 100ml a feed if she has EBM, she feeds about 3hrly during the day, has a 7hr sleep at night but feeds non stop between 7 and 9:30 normally
