Hi every one

Well Charly is crawling a little bit, we have had a bad week with sleeping, due to her runny nose and dripping constantly, thought might finally get a tooth but still nothing. Even tried putting her in bed with us but she thought this was fantastic with laughing and play time so didn't get much sleep and when she did sleep she was tossing and turning so much I couldn't sleep as she was pushing against me. So was just as bad as the night before when every hour she wanted comforting, even got her asleep with just patting her in her cot, but half hour later awake.

I am amazed you guys are using cloth nappies, a had good intentions of using them when preg, but haven't yet. Maybe when she has more solid poos.

I have had to start raising the cot side as found her hanging on to the top wobbling on her legs the other day. Thing daddy taught her that one.

Well I got sick of waiting to her from my boss about whether I had a desk at Redbank or Ipswich so rang on Thursday. He has arranged a desk at Ipswich which is great as it is only 5 - 10 minutes from Mum/Granma place. May have to go to the City occassionly but once Charly is used to be a Granma this will be fine. Plus if Charly wont take the bottle, Granma can bring her to me.

Charly is doing lots of happy screaming, when at the shops she screams to get people attention and gives them a big smile. Chatting away in her cot at the moment. Getting better at the solids opening her mouth for more, wants what mum is eating or drinking (luck I mainly drink water), so means I'm eating a lot healther at the moment. Took a peace of tomato of my plate the other day, even thought I had some cut up on the side for her she wanted the whole peace.

I would like to find the time to something with her photos and video, one day and I'm 37

Good news about the work, Charly'smum - great that your mum can bring her to you to feed if need be. Hope she's feeling better soon and the runny nose clears up. Good that she's enjoying the solids more. Natalie's kind of stuck in a rut, LOL. She's got a solids repertoire that I can't seem to expand :lol: Sweet potato, carrot, zuccini, avocado & tinned fruit of whatever variety you like. That's about it at this stage.
We're going on holiday in September, and I'm wondering if I can get your opinions... Natalie doesn't sleep in our room, but obviously while we are away she'll be bunking in with us most nights. Do you reckon we should get her to sleep in our room for a while before we leave, or should I get as much sleep now and leave the bunking in til we get away? Do you think its something she'll 'get used to' over a couple of weeks?

Had another restless night with Maya and my DP, he slept in the loungeroom as I just couldnt cope with his snoring, Maya slept with me. She is still snuffly so have got a vaporiser going, she is also still crawling EVERYWHERE!! aaarggghh, driving me a bit batty with not much sleep. DP has the flu so hes not much help, feel sorry for him as he cant pick up Maya.

Her other top tooth is coming down now so that is causing grief too...........oh well, get it over and done with now I suppose:rolleyes:

Amy, how did you go with the nappy rash? I swear by the antibacterial benpanthen, I didnt use it for two days and a little bit of a rash started to come out then used it again and its back to normal. Put it on thick while the rash is bad.

I put the side up on our cot now as she is able to pull herself up. Mayas 1 yr old cousin actually fell over his bar when his parents didnt put the bottom down, he was lucky not to break an arm or something....scary:(

BTW, I am 32 (wishing I was younger;)

Hope all the Babies are feeling better, Charly is getting better still just wants to be with mum.

DP has been home the last 3 days and has afternoon shift today. Forgot he was able to put her to sleep twice this weekend during the day, this as never happened before she usually gets very upset.

Amy - if you are staying in a hotel they may have a travel cot you can use, we are going away in November and have arranged to have a travel got for the first place. Then when we stop in Sydney will just have her with us 2 nights, after the last week not planning on getting much sleep.

PC - Charly has felt like to many solid the last couple of day just wants BF, and one of the ladies in Mothers Group said her boy wouldn't eat when he was sick and he eats anything in sight even takes it out of Charly hands if I don't watch out.

Well we are finally getting some rain here, hopefully will go in the dams. I hate these water restrictions, garden is just about dead because I don't have time to use a bucket. It hardly got watered when I could use a hose.

Hmmm, don't know what the story is with the solids, Linz... Is she maybe catching that cold and has a sore throat? :dunno:
Good about your DP being able to settle Charly, Charlysmum. Yeah, I suppose I shall just have to resign myself to the fact that sleep will not be forthcoming. Its ok over a weekend or something, but we'll be away for 2.5 weeks... Don't know how I'll go with being sleep deprived for that long :o I guess it'll be ok cause we'll be 'on holiday' so everything will hopefully seem rosy :)
IKWYM about the rain. It hasn't stopped raining here for about 24 hours. Our garden is thrilled.

Amy - sorry cant give you any advice on the holiday sleep, all I can say is go on holiday with NO expectations, IYKWIM;) she may be a perfect little angel:)

Mayas cough is still hanging around and a little runny nose but not bad. She is only having about 2/3rds of her bottles at the moment, not sure why and she is getting a bit fussy with the solids, not enjoying fruit as much as she did before. Must be the age reading some of the posts from you guys.

Aw, happy 8 months to Laila :) Though it sounds like she's not a happy duckie - not even drinking milk? Let us know how you go at the doctors.
You are such a champ for trying the relactating, Linz. I can well imagine it is very hard. Good on you for giving it a go! Keep up the great work :D
Thanks Chantal, I'm trying to keep positive about our trip. It helps that DH has put me in charge of accommodation, so I'm booking places I'll feel more comfortable in.
Natalie has been doing sooooo much better at night! I'm so proud of her. We are now going through the adventures of travelling all over the cot, LOL. When I come in in the mornings now she has usually rotated 90 degrees while playing/settling herself overnight. Last night she only woke once at 10:30, and the night before last she went right through again. Here's hoping she does just as well tonight!
She is off her food too!!! What's going on with these babies? Natalie was never the adventurous one who liked trying new things, but the last couple of days I can't even get her to eat her 'staples'! Even fruit (and she LOVES fruit) - she'll only have a few mouthfuls. Today I gave in and gave her toast crusts with avocado smeared all over them. I watched her like a hawk, LOL, but thought to myself, 'don't panic - the December babies have all been having finger food for ages'. She enjoyed it, but I don't think she ate much. Got most of it on her bib, sleeves and pants :lol: I made sure I took photos.

Please let us know how you go Linz, I would be so worried if Maya went off everything! In regards to your re lactating, keep it up, you've come this far, which is amazing! I'm too used to my bottles but I'm still amazed our bodies can do what your doing. When you start BF'ing again how long will you feed her for? if you don't mind me asking.

Great to hear how Natalie is going!!:) I'm the same as you, I still watch Maya like a hawk when she has her toast fingers.

Well the latest with Maya is that she pulled herself up onto her feet by holding onto the lounge the other night, the only thing she didnt like was falling back on her bum so she has been put off doing it again for a little while, I think.

She still has her cold which the doctor said is very mild bronchitis so I am watching her carefully. Last night she was having fun with 4 balls in an empty tissue box, we had to get the video camera out as she started giggling and laughing, like REALLY laughing, it was the cutest thing. I have watched it back a few times and it makes me laugh every time. Laughing IS contagious!

Good about Laila's nap! Yeah, I'd be worried too... Though of course it might be nothing. Aparently it doesn't hurt them to not have anything for a little while (so I was told by a nurse and a GP on two occasions when talking about how Natty wouldn't take a bottle. They said just only offer that until she takes it - it could be hours and hours :dunno: ) Anyway, hope she eats something soon to set your mind at ease.
So sorry about Maya's cold, Chantal. At least she's still happy. How gorgeous about the laughing! IKWYM - on Sunday we had lunch with friends and their 3yo and Natalie were laughing at each other for ages - it was classic. We were all laughing too - you're right, it is contageous :)

Hope everything goes well at the doctors for Laila.

Charly is doing well with the crawling wants to climb the stairs, and all over mum at the moment. Is pulling herself up to standing position. Surprised me when I was laying on the lounge, her head pops up right in front of me and she is standing.

Going to meet some of the other BB mums from this area tomorrow depending on the weather as was meant to be at park. It will probably be postponed.

Charly is starting to eat a little more, she when off vegies for a while so started he on some pumpkin and creamed corn today.

How exciting that Charly is pulling herself up! That's great. Good news about her starting to eat more... I reckon just like their sleeping habits, their eating habits change all the time too. Yesterday Natalie was being SUCH a fussbag about eating :rolleyes: whereas usually I don't have a problem getting her to eat the things she likes. Weird. Ah, well. Its all a fun but sometimes scary rollercoaster ride, this parenting gig.

Yuughhh, I feel crappy! I have got a horrible cold with an annoying cough. Maya is still getting over hers but handling it a lot better than me...lol Gee, shes a little trooper.

Just wondering, I can't log out anymore. I press the log out button but when I come back to the site I am already logged in, anyone else have this? I'm just wondering if I stay logged in constantly even when I don't have the web page open????? weird

Maya is finally asleep. Now I have to find some energy to do a couple of things around the house, but to tell you the truth I can't be bothered getting off this chair....

Speaking of U Tube, I watched one this morning with a mother doing a yoga headstand... And bubs crawls up to her... Anyone seen that one? It is absolutely classic and I'll pm you the link if you want to see it and haven't already :)

Charly gave me a scare yesterday was upstairs for about 5 minutes when downstairs, she usually stays pretty close to her mat. But yesterday I call and couldn't see her and she was down the hall in the bathroom, the longest crawl she has done (3 times what she would normally do). Just sitting in the middle of the room, at least it wasn't the laundry. Guess she was searching for me, made her open her month just in case even thought there is nothing on the ground for her to get to.

How is everyone going? been a bit quiet, must be too busy running after our little movers:p

Maya and I are on the tail ends of our colds now (thank goodness), the beautiful weather we have been having has helped I reckon:)

Since we have been a bit housebound the last few days we have been practicing walking, she loves standing up and us helping her go for a little walk, one leg goes in one direction the other goes in another then she will bring them in line and do a few good steps then step on her own foot etc etc....she babbles the whole time. My goal is to have her walking on her first birthday :crossfingers:

Amy I think Nat will adapt while you are away and sort herself out once you get home. She might get used to being in with you but she'll soon get back in sync.

We are good here. Issy kept me up most of the night and I am babysittng my 21month old godson this morning so I hope my lack of sleep doesn't make me too cranky!
We had our frozen embryo transfered on friday so:crossfingers: we are pg!! We will find out in a couple of weeks.
Anywho better get organised for my little guest.

Natalie is really clingy atm too... Is it an age thing? Is everyone else independent, or are they big ol sooky wingy pants' too? LOL, its a strange thing... Yes, sure, its lovely that she wants cuddles, but she doesn't winge for anyone else, KWIM? She is fine when I'm not there, but when I am, I have to be holding her :rolleyes: Is anyone else the same?

ETA: Does anyone here do their grocery shopping online? How do you do yours - does bubs behave ok?

Charly is having fun crawling everywhere and trying to climb the stairs already, has got up the first step as it is short then the others.

She was just looking for me down the hall way so will need to go and keep her entertained as she is now on the step calling for me.

I do the groceries when DH is home & leave him the kids, or he , Zac & Dylan will go, it's way too hard for me, I still have 2 in a pram & Zaccie just climbs out of the trolley when it gets too full.

Maya is fine when we go shopping, I just make sure it is after a feed and I take water and a couple of rusks with me, oh and the dummy of course! Must be prepared for anything.

Jo, that's my preference too - leaving Natty with DH while I go and shop. But lately he just hasn't been home much :(
Yeah, the last couple of days Natalie has fallen in love with cruskits, so I'm taking a leaf from yours Chantal, and taking them with me next time I have to shop ;)
We had a bad shopping experience a couple of weeks ago with Nat in the trolley - she chucked the biggest wobbly, and I ended up feeding her a jar from the shelf (paid for it later of course, LOL ;) ) to keep her occupied. Neither of us had a good time. I told SIL and she recommended shopping online - she always does hers that way. But when I gave it a go yesterday I realised that everything was more expensive! Not by much, maybe 20-70 cents per item. But gees, when you're doing a fortnight's worth of shopping that adds up! I ended up putting Natty in the BBjorn and going in the flesh anyway. We did fine this time.

I've grabbed some rusks and had to open them to keep Maya happy when she dropped the two that I had bought along. She couldnt understand why I wouldnt give it to her, there is no way I was given her something that had touched the trolley, this influenza A is terrifying me. My boss at work, her daughter has the Influenza A, she is 6 yrs old. Poor thing is throwing up everywhere.

We are off to get a Fathers Day present today, thought I would get the Darrel Lea Dad's Bag, can't think of anything else and he loves to nibble on stuff.....

I've got DH something for fathers' day - he's so easy. (You can take that how you want to as well. LOL!)
But I'm really stuck for ideas for my own dad. Always am. He's a difficult one to buy for :rolleyes:

I always get my Dad Darrel Lea or Charlesworth Nuts stuff. Only because Mum doesnt let him have this sort of stuff normally, so its a treat for him and he loves licorice.

Another idea is a gift voucher at a hardware store, if hes the handy type or maybe a movie voucher if he likes a good movie now and then. Thats also a treat for your Mum if they don't get out much. I couldnt do that option as my Dad just won a gold voucher that lasts a whole year, lucky duck! might have to borrow that sometime.......

Hi everyone, Charly is usually very good shopping, because she loves watching people and trying to get there attention. Usually have lots of screams for 'look at me, look at me everyone', a couple of weeks ago I when shopping didn't buy much as I was to busy making Charly laugh in the trolley.... although if she is hungry we have a tough time getting the shopping done usually take toys to entertain her, never though about the cruskits which I always have handy.

Fathers day was planning on getting a shirt and using a transfer to put Charly's picture with a 'Daddy's Girl' just haven't had the time. One of the ladies in mothers group suggested a T shirt for Charly with a slogan on it about Daddy from Cotton On so will go there today if I get a change and hope they have some left. When I asked DH he is not expecting anything.
