Oh no! Poor Natty and poor Mummy! Hope it clears up quickly!
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear Amy:( I hope your all okay today, wouldnt be easy.
Charly's mum; WOW to the potty!! I didnt even think they would be nearly ready at this age, thats fantastic!keep us up to date on how you are going with it!
I get a lot of the cuddles too, its so wonderful when she puts her head against me, one of the most wonderful feelings being a mum:D
We just had a weekend away to see my partners Auntie and cousins, Maya was P E R F E C T!! We are so proud of her. She slept well, travelled in the car well and ate well.
Hope everyone is well:)
Thanks girls. I'm better today. DH has been sick as a dog and Natty is still a little out of sorts, but getting better. I've been heavy-handed with the disinfectant today ;)
Well, she is definitely a late bloomer... I think she is the last in our mothers group to crawl and the last on here too! But tonight she was rolling away after her bath, so I'm sure it won't be long before she gets moving along with her friends.
Fantastic that Maya travelled so well, Chon. Brilliant - that means you can have lots of lovely weekends away :p
Looks like I found a job too. I'm going to do some contract piano teaching. It'll only be afternoon work, and I only want to do a couple of days a week, but it'll be good to get out for a while.
Hello!!! How is everyone?
hi...we are good. I turned 30 yesterday and had a great day of lunching, movies and dinner!! DH got me a "world's best mum" keyring from Isabella which he got engraved so I started the morning with tears!!
Issy's second tooth is through, this one seemed to troubl her more than the first. She follows me everywhere around the house and spends a lot of time pulling herself up and walking along the furniture.
My pg sickness has subsided which is making life alot easier!!
Congrats on finding a job that suits Amy.
I am hoping to have more time off work this time round than last time. I have been back at work for 6 months already!!
Love and kisses to all
Happy birthday, Shez! Great that you are feeling better now. :)
Hi!
Happy birthday Shez! Love the keyring presant, your DH is very thoughtful.:)
Wonderful to hear your pg is going well, so exciting!I have a friend that is due in about 5 weeks, so will get to hold a newborn again soon:) I miss that.
Snacks; is everyone better now? Little Natalie will be crawling soon, remember they usually start going backwards first so keep an eye out for that.
Maya has been visiting her Nanna and Pappa's most of this week as my DP and I have been quite busy doing a 'spring clean' around the house. Its amazing how much junk you can get:doh:
When my Mum babysat yesterday she saw Maya stand up by herself! She said she got up on hands and feet then stood up, realised she was standing and plopped down. So I missed it........have to wait to see if she does it again soon.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Hey Chon, good on you for clearing stuff out. I would dearly love to get rid of a million things that are cluttering my house, but DH is a hoarder and I'm far too lazy to push the point ;)
Wow to Maya standing on her own. For sure she'll do it again in front of you soon.
Yeah, we are all better around here. Natty is getting closer to mobile - she's happy on her tummy now, at least! And she's all of a sudden decided that she likes yoghurt. She went from not having a bar of it to gulping it down like there was no tomorrow. Weird child!
Great to hear your all better and that Natalie is loving her yogurt.
Its getting pretty hot here in Adelaide now and I am finding I dont have enough summer clothes to keep up:rolleyes: especially night wear.
I find Best and Less have cheaper stuff that's still really cute. Coles sell packs of about 7 onesies. And Big W are the cheapest for Bonds sleepsuits - even cheaper than the Bonds store - what's with that?!
We are lucky in that Natalie has been given a lot of hand-me-downs which means I haven't had to buy heaps, so I'm spoilt... When summer gets into full swing, I'm just going to dress Natty in t-shirt or singlet and nappy!
Well.
We have had a couple of fairly crappy days here. Natalie has started refusing the breast and I have decided to wean her. I don't think I can express enough to keep up my supply, and she REALLY doesn't want to take the boob. I have been sad about it, but am feeling better about my decision today.
So now, I have to decide what sort of milk to give her... She doesn't like formula, but she does like cows milk. What do you guys think of that kids cows milk with added Omega 3? Do you think its just a gimmick? What do you think of toddler formula? I'm sure she'd like toddler milk because it is sweet and Vanilla flavoured... But I don't want her to get addicted to it and then not drink regular milk once she's 1. Ah, what do I do?
Tough decision Amy, I will be try Charly on the regular milk in a couple of weeks. So had some the other day when she drank some of my banana smoothy and she was fine (could get enough).
I am kind of hoping Charly starts weaning herself soon, today all she has wanted is BF. Think it because on Tuesday and Wednesday she goes without while I'm at work. So Thursday she just wants mum's BF.
Know what you mean about yoghurt, Charly has done the same thing, must admit someone told me the normal yoghurt and baby yoghurt are similar so tried normal at first. Wouldn't eat it, got some baby yoghurt for her and she loves it maybe because it was banana (anything with banana is a winner).
For the first time she is asleep in her cot during the day, usually wakes as it but her in. Hope this continues, so good to have some time to myself.
Charly is starting to let us hold her hands and walk now, wont be long before she walking. Climbs the stairs (two sets) up to her room to play with the stuffed toys, a couple of months ago so would cry if she seen a stuffed toy LOL.
We go away next Saturday 24th down to Lake Crakenback for 4 days then to Sydney for a few days to see relatives. Back in time to though a Birthday party for Charly going to do a pool party with a sausage sizzle later in the day.
Natalie seems to tolerate cow's milk really well. I just hope her diet is balanced enough to ensure she's not missing out on valuable nutrients...
I do feel for you, with constantly feeding - it must be tiring. I went from one extreme to the other... I was really getting fed up with bfeeding because she was biting every now and again. Now I wish she would do it, even just for a couple of months, because it is so hard now to make decisions! I would just buy some formula and be done with it, but she won't have a bottle and she hasn't liked formula in the past... Plus it is so expensive.
Anyway, we are seeing the nurse on Monday morning, so I'll work it all out after that.
That's really exciting that Charly is nearly walking! Awesome.
Hey ladies,
Amy, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine to put Natalie straight onto regular cow's milk now. Realistically it's only 5 weeks til she's "allowed" it anyway. The biggest worry is constipation. You could try teh added Omega 3, but I think the biggest thing is to try to get her on full fat. I have heard that that's the worst for constipation though unfortunately. I wouldn't go for a bottle either, just a sippy cup. Too much of a hassle to switch to bottle then onto sippy cup imo. Easier just to skip it all together, but then I'm lazy like that!
Fantastic that Charly's almost walking! What a little smarty pants! Good luck with the sleeping in the cot!
Thanks Lauren... To clarify, do you mean the omega 3 milk is worst for constipation, or just cows milk in general?
Yeah, I'm going to give the bottles a miss. She's quite good with a cup now anyway.
Thank you for the tip - I'll keep an eye on her poopies.
Sorry, I meant full fat milk is the worst for constipation. That's according to some online friends who've found 2% fat helps with that.
Ta. Its been a few days now... So far so good :crossfingers:
Oh my gosh! As I was typing that msg yesterday I was letting Noah crawl around sans nappy. I thought the worst that would happen is that he'd pee on the carpet (no big deal, it's being replaced next month). Oh how wrong I was! He did a big poop right in the middle of the lounge room! That'll teach me!
lol on a lighter note, he learnt how to climb up stairs at MIL's yesterday. I'm just hoping he doesn't figure out he can get up the stairs here too! We have a weird old 70's staircase and are having trouble finding a safety gate that works on it.
Hope everyone's dealing well with the heat!
