Glad everyone's littlies are doing well. Great news about Maya, Natalie & Angel!
My poor little guy's sick! He's got a cold and it's so pathetic I'm all teary. He was really clingy yesterday & then last night after I'd put him down I noticed he was coughing & sneezing a fair bit. Over night was horrible he kept choking after every coughing episode and was s o miserable & cranky (not like Noah at all). This morning he's all mucousy & stuffed up but he's trying to be happy & is laughing on the floor here at the moment. Poor little guy.
Oh, poor Noah (and Lauren)! Hope he gets better soon.
Hi everyone.
Chon, how is Maya after her needles? Natty is just miserable, and so am I. She hasn't really slept today - just wants cuddles and booby. And she's crying a lot :( We have given her some Panadol, but the poor bubba is just so sad. I feel terrible.
Hi snacks
Sorry to hear about Natalie:( I wish she was coping as well as Maya is..........we are actually doing quite well. Although when she got the needles she bawled her eyes out in a way I haven't heard before, I cupped her face in my hands and talked to her but I had tears in my eyes too. It was horrible, but I had a bottle ready straight away and she gulped it down. Then we went for an hour long drive and she loved that:rolleyes: , she fell asleep and has been resting most of the afternoon.:) I think she's like her mum, prefers to sleep through the pain, thats what I'm hoping anyway.
I still feel like crap, for what she went through, but I am glad she is alright.
Lotusflower; how is your little man going? I really hope that horrible cold is disappearing:pray:
Snacks; if her injection areas are still causing her grief today, try putting a cold flannel on the spots, that is what I have done for Maya. Even though she isnt crying I still sit a cool flannel under her leg and it keeps the area cool, sort of distracts her mind from the pain....or just dab the area. Really hope all is better soon.
Cheers
Chantal
Oh, I'm glad Maya coped so well :) That's great.
Natalie did fine when she was given the injections - cried when they went in, but snuggled up to Dave and stopped crying straight after. We including the doc were amazed at how calm she was. Well, the storm was still to come LOL! When I posted last night, my cousin had come over which was great. Dave and I were so tired from cuddling her and hearing her cry, so another set of arms was so welcome! We gave her another dose of Panadol before bed, though I was sceptical because the lunchtime one hadn't seemed to help her at all, and she fell asleep pretty much straight away and slept all night. Phew. I woke at 3:30, 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 to check her  and she finally woke up herself at 7. She obviously needed the rest. My BBs were soooo sore this morning! Hoping she is better today...
Thanks Chon for the tip about the cold compress. Wouldn't have thought of it myself
Hope you're all going well.
Awww I hope both Natty & Maya are all better soon. Noah was a bit miserable for the 24 hours following his injections, wanted to be held non-stop and was grizzly but after that he was back to normal. Wish I could say the same about this cold! He seems much happier within himself but he's still coughing and sneezing up a storm. He REALLY doesn't want to lie down so I've been holding him pretty much non-stop for the last 3 days (not fun in this heat/humidity!). He's coughing so much at night that he starts choking, so the last 3 nights he's been in bed with me. Also I don't know if it's the bug he's got or the panadol I've given him for it, but something is making him poo A LOT more than he normally does! I liked our once a day routine! lol
Hope everyone else and their bubs are well.
Oh, poor boy. I know how he feels about lying down when you've got a cold - it makes your head fill up so that it feels ready to burst. Still, carrying him upright all day must be so exhausting for you, Lauren! After one afternoon carrying Natalie around, I'd had enough!
LOL about the poo thing. I'd bet on the Panadol? Natalie's had two doses - first one was yesterday about midday, and since then she's had four pooey nappies! (And just when I'd decided I was ready to have her in cloth full-time...) Ah well. No one said motherhood would be glamorous, eh? ;)
Charly is the same, usually once a day but since she been sick several a day. She is over it know except her nose. She was not as bad as Noah, just a little cough, lots of sneezing and the nose. But still wanting to be held.
Hope Noah is better soon.
Yay! Finally got a call about mothers' group! Starting next Tuesday. I'm quite excited!
Hi everyone
I haven't been able to got on here for a while but I had my beautiful daughter on 7th December 2006 by C-Section.
She was 4.295kg (9 pound 7) and 55cms long.
At current she is 12 weeks old about 6kgs and nearly 70cm long (daddy is 6 foot 8). She is cheeky little thing - smiles all round and just working her way to giggling. She is sleeping through the night with only having 4 botles a day (which is nice for me).
Sorry this is late - better late then never I suppose....
Hi everyone
Whats this poo thing all about??? Maya has had a bit of diaherra(spelling????) since her injections, its only just starting to calm down, hasn't been fun. I'm wondering if its her body adjusting to all the 'things' in the environment as she is putting her fingers in her mouth regularly now, or should I say fist:doh:
katiam; Hi, and WELCOME!! Your little one shares the same birthday as my little girl, what time did you have her? Maya arrived at 2.15pm by natural birth. Weighing 5lbs 13oz (2.6kg) so almost half the size of your little girl, I would of died if Maya was any bigger, it was an eventful birth!!
So has everyones colds cleared up??? hope all is okay.
Snacks; glad to hear about your mothers group, I'm still waiting was wondering about it last night actually, should I call them???
Well an update on Maya, she had her ultrasound on her hips yesterday to see if her hips are now okay, if it shows they arent she will have to have the splint put back on. I find out on Thursday by the specialist when he looks at the scans. I am feeling positive but still have fingers crossed!! Maya screamed her little head off when she had the scan as the lady had to hold her little legs together and keep them straight. I have never seen her cry like that, it was worse than the needles. It took a while to calm her down after that.
On the good side she is absolutely loving her baths and kicking her legs like crazy! She is mimicking sounds now and then, like 'aaahhhh' and 'oooohh' and sticks her tongue out when we do, she thinks that hilarious! Also she is enjoying her playgym and hits the things that are hanging around and above her, so coordination is getting a lot better.
Also she is sitting up all the time, by assistance from us of holding around her waist or her arms, she holds her head really well and her back is getting straighter. When I have her on my lap all she wants to do is sit up, she doesnt like laying back now.
Anyway must go,
Cheers
chantal
Jazminda was born at 9.10 in the morning. It was a good birth - I was glad I had the C-Section as the OB said when they pulled Jaz out "Look at the shoulders on her".
I'm not sure about the poo thing - Jaz tends to have big poos every 2 days but nothing like diaherra - I know she didn't have any side effects from the injections - just too little lumps on her thighs at the injection sites but they have gone now.
How long will Maya have to be in the splint if she has to have it again? I can't stand it to see my little one cry - I'd do anything to take away the pain. Jaz first cried at her injections but not as much as I expected - it was just the look in her eyes that was like Why are you doing this to me....... I was a wreck - I was lucky mum was with me but after the second injection Jaz fell asleep for the rest of the day and only woke up for feeds.
Snacks: that's good about the mothers group and Chon - I would call about it. One lady I know was invited to join a mothers group but didn't receive an invite until the day the group started so she didn't end up going at all. To tell you the truth I am still unsure about my group - it finished this week so we are meeting up at a park on Monday but I am not sure if I want to go - on one hand I am like well you have to make new friends that actually have kids but on the other hand I feel out of place there. Maybe it is just me.
Katiam welcome to BB, hope to hear all about Jazminda. Hey about the mother group may be there is another one in your area. I meet with the ladies for Qld health group, but last week I also went to a group I found on this forum. The only thing was they had older children but they where very nice and I will go again. Just thought if you look in the family section there may be a group you could join.
Chon Charly seems to be doing more poos since her needle but I thing it is just the stage she is going through plus she has also had a cold...which has now passed... so could be that.
Charly is getting to know her voice, now she has just started giving little squeals, at first I though she was starting to cry but had a cheeky grin with it ... so cute.
For the last month she has been copying us with facial expressions, because we say hello to her all the time she is starting to do the month and some of the sounds soooo close to getting the word out ... gave us a suprise...not mum or dad first:lol: .
She is also allowing me to put her on her play mat for longer each day...except now she doesn't like it on her tummy:rolleyes: . Maybe because she is interacting more she is sleeping longer during the day... previous lucky to get a couple of half hour naps.. she has now been asleep for over 2 hours. Lucky she still sleeps well at night.
Anyway enough bragging for now...:) hope everyone else is doing well
Hey everyone sorry I haven't been posting much just lurking lately.
Noah's much better, still has a snotty nose but other than that the cold has pretty much passed.
He went for his 12 week check up on Tuesday (at 11w 4d) and the beast was 65.5cm long and 7kg! No wonder my arm gets sore after carrying him around for a little while!
Glad everyone elses bubs are doing well. I'd say the diahorrea would be a side-effect of the jab Chon. Fingers crossed no more splint!
I would definitely call bout the mum's group girls. I really enjoy mine & just getting out talking to people who undersyand and are going through the same things is nice!
Hi guys just a quick one to say we are back from melb and nz. Bella loved the plane..fed and slept!! Had needles today.. so far grizzly and sleepy otherwise good. 10wk1d stats...61cm 5.9kg head circ 40cm!!! It's great!! She is 97th percentile, when I was a bub I was lucky to hit the 3rd!!! I'll read back and catch up then post more soon..xoxo
Hi again girls.
Chantal: Everyone I spoke to said to call the centre about mothers group. I kept forgetting though! If yours is like mine, there's a pretty long waiting list and they don't have enough groups running to get everyone in straight away. They gave me just over a week's notice. Ring anyway if you can be bothered - can't hurt. :)
Sorry that the ultrasound was so traumatic. Poor Maya. I hope it's all clear and she can be splintless forever more. I know what you mean about the fists in the mouth. Nat won't take the dummy any more but her hands are always in her mouth!
Hey, I hadn't connected Nat's different poo to the injections. The last few days I've been worried because it is looking darker in colour than it should. I've been taking an iron supplement the last few days (the doc made me... I hate iron tabs, so I'm on this herbal stuff that SIL gave me to try. So far so good.) and I even worried today that the supplement might be affecting her?
Katherine: I know what you mean about new groups - sometimes they just feel wrong. Like Charly's mum says, there might be one on here near where you live that might feel better... LOL about the shoulders.
Charly's mum: how lovely about the 'talking' and the giggles. I don't know many babies that like tummy time - I'm pretty bad and rarely put Nat on her tummy... Glad that Charly's getting better at sleeping in the day. Nat is TERRIBLE in the day lately. Yesterday and today she pretty much refused to sleep on her own - only for 10 minutes at a time and only if I rocked her to sleep. I don't know what her deal is - hopefully it is just a phase...
Lauren: Good to hear Noah is feeling better. He's growing well - you must be doing something right!
Shez: Welcome home. Glad Isabella gave you no probs on the plane. Another happy chubber bubba - well done! Who do you see for the 12 week checkup? I haven't booked one in yet. Can you just go to the early childhood nurse?
Eugh, I have a cold now. Fortunately Nat doesn't seem too snuffly or anything, though as mentioned she has been very clingy. It is really just a runny nose for me and the sneezes. The runny nose is a pain when trying to feed!
Anyway, good to hear from you all. Take care.
