GRRRRRR such a bad night here. Olivia just wouldn't sleep for more than 20 mins at a stretch, and I think the 20 min stretch only happened twice. Today was DH's first day back at work too so I felt like I needed to do the whole night shift with bubs so he could rest (if not sleep). Luckily my mum is here (on Alicia watch - doing my washing and stuff) so she watch Livi for 2 hours this morning so I could have a nap but seriously I was going insane last night. Why oh why would she just not go to sleep?!?!?!
-
Same reason my Olivia wouldn't sleep on my Dh's first day back at work.. cus she could :) I know not much help at all..
She settled down after 2 nights of doing it though.. I hope you get some sleep tonight..

Hello everyone,
I have been missing in action for a while now. Just wanted to congratulate Buzzie on little Asher!! Well done!!
Summer is going great guns. She is about 5kgs now! Thats 1.5kgs she has put on in 4 weeks! Mama Mia!!
Hope everyone is doing well, i am great and cant wait to have another bubba - my little girl is easy work ... (fingers crossed it stays that way!! hehe). If they are all like her i might end up having 10 haha
-
I headed out to the chemist and picked up some Infants Friend (on your recommendation Nic), hope it helps bubs wind and maybe gives us some more sleep tonight. We walked to the shops (mum, bub and I) and Olivia slept the whole time in the pram and is now napping again. The maternal health nurse told us that baby that sleeps well during the day will sleep better at night - really hoping that is true at the moment *fingers crossed*

Well I am very happy with my little man, he has just had his first visit with the MCHN and he has put on 700gm in the last 13 days- what a little guts- must mean my milk is good stuff though.
Alicia- I have always believed in the saying that sleep promotes sleep, and with Tori it has always been true, and so far with Liam the same thing. I hope the infants friend helps with the wind and you get some more sleep.
-
Alicia - I was walking the hallway all last night too!!! DD just would not settle. I found that taking Loren off the breast/bottle every 3 mins or so to burb really reduced her wind. She gets upset that I take her off but I am getting 3 x more burbs.
Nikki - Hi I was just thinking about you, glad your princess is being good.
Ali - Great going on the weight gain for your little man.
Just wondering where Ezz, Tinsel and Shell are? Hope you are all well. I have seen some posts from Ezz and Shell and I hope you get time to drop in here.
Well as per my response to Alicia miss Loren was up pretty much all night. She was not particulary upset, nor did she have bad wind, she just would not settle. I want to throw the dummy out now too. Every time she lost the dummy she screamed, so up I got to replace it a million times. If this happens tonight I think I'll just take the dummy away and let her cry it out. We finally got to sleep at 5am on the lounge with Loren lying across my belly. I think may be using the lounge a lot more too!!!!

nikki: Good to see you around.. Miss Summer sounds like she is doing just great :)
Alicia.. Crossing everything the Infants friend works for you and Olivia. I agree with the MCN I know it works like that for the boys and so far Olivia too. if she doesn't sleep during the day she definetly doesn't sleep well at night...
Ali.. Way to go on the weight gain.. thats what My Olivia gained in 17 days..
Bek: I hope the constant burping brings you some relief.. When you burp her do you pat or rub? I sometimes find if all else fails I rub down not up and if that doesn't do the trick then I lay them across my knees and rub down...
I have seen Ezz and Shell around but not Tinsel.. Check in girls :)
Well without jinxing myself I have had a pretty good day.. Apart from the boys bugging me a bit this afternoon.. and I swear if Jacob elbows me in the boobs one more time i may jump out a window.. do you have any idea how much it hurts!!!!! OW!! Now we are all bathed and ready for bed. Just waiting for bedtime to roll around.. Kids watching tv. ( I swear they don't watch tv all day lol) jacob wandering and playing he doesn't watch tv. Olivia sleeping DH at work.. but wahoo Days off tomorrow!!!!!

OK ladies I am now officially going to TRY and make an effort to keep up!!!
Ali - WOW 700gm is awesome!!! Chrissie put on 166gm in the 3 days we were out of hossy, the MCHN came over to our place then.. This Thursday is out 2 week appointment, so we will see how she goes there!
Does anyone else's bub have issues burping......??? Chrissie doesn't always burp and when she doesn't and i put her down.. she vomits some out the side of her mouth!... she isn't grizzly or crying like she's in pain, she just brings it up!...
ohhh does anyone remember how long it takes those stitches from an episiotomy (spel?) to dissolve..?? they are starting to annoy me... i just want to scrub down there SO BAD!!! (TMI sorry)
PS. i don't know how you ladies with more than one kid do it!! really!! you deserve a medal!!!
xxx

Haroula: If she isn't grizzly and a little comes out then she either had a little bit to much or something I read the other day.. the muscle at the top of thier stomach hasn't fully matured and when you move them it contracts ( or something) and squeezes the milk out.. Made perfect sense.. I can't remember when it starts to work as it should though. And when I mean move them I mean by accidently squishing it a little..
Ah you get used to more then one kid when you have more then one.. Although today I wish I could put them in the zoo for the day ;)
-
hehehehehe... the zoo...well.... i could understand that!!
well she was a little grizzly just before and one of the MW at hossy said that sometimes it helps to get the gas out if she sucks on your little finger.... it does work and she farts/poos like a trooper... but i dont want her to get used to that!! and she only "sometimes" takes the dummy!...
at the moment i'm typing one handed as she has just fallen asleep with a pooy nappy! i dont want to change her as she'll wake up and she hasn't slept since 4:30pm!!...... but she can't also sit in a dirty nappy!!!!! arg!!!!
-
I hope she slept for a while for you...
small feeling tonight will be bad.. make my feelings go away
-
Nic - i do all of those things when burping pat, rub (up,down and around) and over the knee. If DD has gone to sleep I lay her on my lap until she wakes up and then burp her.
Haroula - DD will often not burp because she is too sleepy. I just put her down and what till she gets the figgets and then I know she is ready to burp. My DD also brings up her feed and this is normal, this improves from around 12wks.
I am only just getting used to having 2 kids!!!!! So far not so bad, apart from DD1 rejecting me big time and her behaviour has gone hay wire. I am just going with the flow and not trying to be super mum and/or super house wife. My goal is one house job per day plus normal stuff like dinner and washing, me and DD1 time (at least 2 sessions per day). Boy I do feel guilty when dealing with Loren and DD starts to act jealous. oh mother guilt!!!! If it is not one thing it is the other.
Anyone missing being pregnant>?????? Strangely enough I am. Although I love having Loren here, I just feel like I want to do it once more. hmmmmm I will see how I feel in a couple of years!!!
Anyway night all. I hope everyone gets a good nights rest.

I miss being pregnant from time to time.. At this stage I feel fine about having had the tubal done.. I have no desire to go through pregnancy again but I do enjoy the baby part...
Jacob is only jus now coming out of his jealous i miss mummy business. he still throws a few good tantrums but now Simon is back at work life is settling into a routine again and he has been pretty good.. Although he won't stop talking lol.....
-
Yep I miss being pregnant too Bek. I am really glad that Olivia is here but sometimes the whole pregnant thing seems to have gone so fast and I feel like I missed some of it or something (not making much sense am I seeing as it seemed to take ages when I was pregnant). We are planning on expanding our family (if I don't kill my know-it-all hubby in the next few weeks) but after the scare I had this time I think Olivia's brother or sister is a few years away yet.
Just got really grumpy with DH in front of my mum (don't usually do that) I think lack of sleep last night has caught up with us.
-
I have to say girls I dont miss being pregnant at all, mind you I had 2 babies in 18 months so it felt like I was pregnant FOREVER, I am actualley really looking forward to having my body to myself for a while. At this stage (and this well might change, as I change my mind nearly as frequently as my underwear) I dont think we will have anymore kids- I am really happy with 2, and we were lucky enough to have one of each.

Long night.. not a bad onebut it felt like it went forever. First of all Olivia was in bed and her monitor kept beeping at me.. I was checking her but she seemed fine. It wasn't beeping in the bedroom which was odd. So after a few worried moments I rolled her onto her back and went to check the other monitor. It was the low battery alarm  I had forgotten that I had unplugged it.
Went to bed and Olivia was stirring heaps so I fed her and she settled back down. She woke at 1 in a foul foul mood lol.. I think she had a tummy ache but nothing was coming out.. Eventually we both fell asleep together at 3:30. Dh got home from work at 7 and we had to vacate the bedroom at 8 as he needed to go to sleep. I thought Olivia was awake enough to bring out with me but it seems she wasn't.. **note to self** let sleeping baby sleep.... ps she is foul :P
Alicia: I to was getting snappy with DH after a few weeks. I think constantly being around other people and an unsettled bub was getting to us..
Good morning to everyone else :)
-
morning ladies :)
We had a good night! Chrissie finally fell asleep about 10pm and woke up only at 2am and then at 5:30am... now she is still sleeping!!!! ...am expecting her to wake any moment for booby though! LOL
I miss being pregnant... a little anyway...LOL i did have a good pregnancy though.. i'm sure i wouldn't be saying that if i had had any issues.... i AM sick of these stitches and darling little hemorrhoids though... LOL (sorry TMI)!!
OK well at least i know the burping thing is normal and shouldn't worry too much about it!.... i must admit i think if i put her down straight away and just let her bring up a little instead of trying to burp her when she's falling asleep..she actually brings up less!...
ok gotta have some breakie...

I do not miss being pregnant !!! YET. Mind you when they are in your stomach still they are far easier to keep happy. See girls, I told you all not to wish it over too soon ;) Knowing that I will never be preg again however is a little sad.
We had a long night too. Abbey would not settle all afternoon, again. Finally got her to sleep around 9pm but it wasn't a deep sleep, she was so figgity (sp) I fell asleep on the lounge with her. Felt so bad to DP, we had been grocery shopping, walked in the door with a screaming baby and I sat on teh lounge to feed her and never moved all night. So he had to pack away all the groceries, do dinner, dishes, bath the kids and put them to bed. Abbey just fussed the whole time. Seem's to be an everynight thing lately. She was up and down so many times lastnight too. Sleeping now of course but I don't know how. This house is so noisey.
Nic, LOL at the zoo hun. My kids are already there ;)
Ali, thats an awesome weight gain. Poor Abbey has only gained 500 grams since birth. Although in saying that she did go down to 2.9kgs from 3.2kgs and is now up to 3.7kgs.
We have Abbey's follow up paed appt on Friday. I wonder if he is going to whinge about her weight gain. He expects 250grams a week. She did have a gain of 210gms one week though. I'm not too fussed, she is feeding, weeing and pooing plenty. Not all babies grow at the same rate. TBH I am loving that she is staying little for longer, they grow too fast as it is. Provided she is healthy of course.
Going stir crazy having all the kids here everyday. How sad is this I even called up Tehya's preschool to see if they were opened back up yet. In my defense I truelly couldn't remember when it is they go back. It must be next week as no one answered the phones. Swimming doesn't start again til next week either.
AHHHHH we have the worse mobile coverage here. It's not like it's not a built up area , we must be in a total flat spot. I have 1 bar occassionally on my phone but the minute I try to send a text the bar goes and my msg hangs and doesn't go out. Very frustrating I tell ya.
