Oh it's going to be a hot one in Sydney today :)
kts- Go with your gut instincts i reckon. If you feel bubs is healthy and happy, she probably is. We bf on demand but Ty is starting to go off the boob a bit lately. We probably do 3 or 4 feeds a day, before sleeps, and an extra one or two at night. Generally he doesn't want milk in the morning, just food. We are doing three meals a day plus afternoon tea. And he drinks stacks of boiled water from a sippy cup. Tried him with a straw yesterday and he managed ok so i think we'll start with a straw cup soon.
Lauren- Ash is a clever bug isn't he? :)
Tinsel- We have one of those walker push things put away for Ty's birthday but I am tempted to get it tout earlier, I think he'd love it at the moment.
Hoody- Hope the worst of it is over.
Nic- What a yucky night. But at least the tired toddlers slept well for you by the sounds of it, even if little miss didn't.
Ty is napping, thank god. it's been nothing but whinge whinge whinge since he woke up at 5:30.
ETA- Nic I agree- say mum!!! It's all dadad and nanana here.
Nic - i dont think its hot enough here yet, Ash is only just getting over yet another cold. so hopefully we'll get a warm day before the next cold :rolleyes:
I thought mum was one of the first words they say after dad...Ash has been a chatter box for a long time mind you, i have been saying mum to him every day and the second we wake up since he was born..so hes been saying mum for a couple months. I think dad will be the last word he learns,...he only sees him once a week now cos of work, so its too hard to for him to remember.
Advanced in his talking, yet still no teeth hehe - someone on facebook said they were off to see the dentist cos there 16 month old still had no teeth!! OMG
OOhhhh how exciting here.. im starting my studies soon.. i found a course i can do from home - medical admin and termanology then im going back to do lots of nursing courses next yr. I told mum i will pay someone to look after ash cos theres no way i can put him in care, and mum said she would rather look after him so we are gonna go half in hiring someone to look after her shop... that will save me so much money.. yay!
Anyone want a grumpy baby? Olivia is unhappy today.. well my sweet SLEEP at night!!!
I just gaver her some panadol but dang it that was the last dose so now I have to ride to the shop after she has napped (if she ever naps) and get some more..
I'd swap today :) Molly is still unwell. She is alot better but has the runs today so the bug must be working its way through her. She drank about 100mls of milk this morning and had 1/4 of a piece of toast :dance: DD1 is really clingy too so i tell ya what aussienic i'll give you 2 for the price of 1.:

Boys are super happy eating ice blocks.. I'm a bad mummy and they had 2 in a row but hey its just like a glass of cordial and seeing as they don't drink that I thiknk 2 ice blocks is ok..
Agghhh another really bad night.. Olivia just tossed and turned till 5am.. She is sleeping soundly now Grr.. She woke at 10.. We got her to sleep in her cot about 11 and she slept there till 12:30 but then it was on.. all bloomin night...
I gave her panadol at 10. I have no idea whats going on!!

Nic- Nah, couple of iceblocks won't hurt. Might produce a bit of a sugar rush, which is not good for mummy!! We had a crappity crap night here too- Ty was up partying for half an hour every two hours... he has learned to sit himself up really well and thinks he's quite clever, so he was up practising.
Lauren- yay! Hearing you about day care- one of the mums in my mg left her bub for a trial run with the day care he is starting in two weeks. Came back to pick him up and he was covered in vomit, the workers hadn't even noticed. Eep.
Hoody- poor Molly. Glad she is on the mend a bit.
Damn it is hot here. It was 25 degrees at 5:30am. We are supposed to be doing the grocercies. At least it will be ac'ed!

LoriRae, Hi must be something in the air,everyone has bubs chucking tantrums,atm,lol.
I think we know Mel,is she Asian and has a little girl or I also know a Melinda in Camperdown ward.Do you go to the "Cure our KIds ,xmas party" ,at Parramatta Football Stadium each year,it`s usually done through the Oncology Dept.Isnt our weather shockingly hot atm,kids just want to go to the pool all the time,but it`s too hot to have the little ones out for too long. Another 35 deg,today.I`ll be putting on our air con for sure.
kts64s- Hi,basically,our 9 month old has 4 to 5 bottles per day,with watered down juice now that we have hot weather,breakfast,lunch and dinner,and in between if he has been picky and hasnt eaten much we just give finger foods to top up,but he only drinks 150mls- to 175mls of milk and is a small eater.I think the only time you need to worry about bub is if they dont drink.Oh,he is drinking from a cup when his gums are sore,actually seems to like it better than his bottle.
Hoody- Hi ya hows things,is Molly feeling any better,you will be needing a holiday yourself once DH gets back,lol. Hope you and the girls are having a better day today.:hug: will try and catch up with you on chat,Hoody.

We are having good beach weather too,shame we dont live closer to one like you do,kids love to be out on a nice day,its just a shame its a bit hot for the little ones,they cant keep up poor buggers.I hope Olivia settles for you I?m not the best person if my sleep is disrupted a few nights in a row either,lol.makes it wosrt when the bigger ones always wingein about being bored,we still have school holidays here,BOO...HOO.......:rolleyes: Nic,caught any fish lately? have a good day Nic,hope to catch up and have a chat,cheers Susan.:hug:
ah I didn't get to go fishing :( We simply ran out of time on Simons days off this week and while I venture out with the 4 I am not brave enough to do fishing just yet.. Maybe in a year ;)

Sorry girls no time for personals just a quick update on Molly.
Yesterday she's stopped been sick and had the runs but today she is been sick again :doh: Wont keep anything down really but at least she is still taking fluid (even if they do come back up) How long should i let this go on for b4 i get her seen to again. She is ok i guess in her self just miserable but its now 48hrs of vomitting and pooing. I'm worried about her but coping iykwim. DD1 has the cold too now so i'm praying she doenst get the tummy bug too.
1 week til DH comes home and i cant wait.
I would pop in to the Drs this afternoon.. I knows Drs are open tomorrow but you have a whole night to get through first.. It is better to get your mind put at ease then worry all night kwim??
My miss is plain miserable and I am so tired :( I have had to put her in her bed and just let her yell for a bit.. She is just cranky yelling.. I have yet to clean the breakfast and lunch dishes.. Haven't even got close to startign dinner and I am so tired I don't want to do any of it.. 2-3 nights of bad sleep is catching up with me..
I don't if she has a cold or teething or if she is plain tired from not sleeping either.. god I feel so mean leaving her in her bed but I can't hold her anymore today :(

Thanks Teena.. I just sat back down again.. I left her for 5 then went and patted her back and then left and she went to sleep.. so I have her veges on and will start our dinner now she is snoozing.. I m sure my hands will be full again once she is awake

Aussienic- I feel for you we are sleep deprived here and Molly WILL NOT let me put her down.
OK took her to the Dr's same deal tummy bug let her ride it out ARRRRRGH so over it she is so clingy and miserable. I put her to bed she sleeps 10 mins then thats it up again miserable put her back down sleeps again for 10 mins this has been our routine all day. DD1 still seems to be ok apart from her cold.
Ok girls Molly power chucked in my car today so i need your tips on ridding the smell its foul.

Only idea I have regarding the spew smell is bicarb and vanilla...sprinkle th bicarb over the spot or spots and let it soak up any moisture and put a open bottle of vanilla in your car over night...
:( olivia is waking upi already... I seriously need a break from her.. I feel bad cus she is sick but I just can't do it anymore tonight :( and I feel bad asking Simon cus he worked all day
ok Simon is a great dad.. He is going to get her.. He has already told me he will get up to her tonight if she sleeps bad again.. He has night shift tomorrow night so he can just go nap earlier rather than after lunch...
Ok i will try that for the spew smell. It wasnt just a little iykwim it got all over the car seat and the floor, down the door omg what a mess i attempted to clean it up but feel like i'll never get rid of the smell.
Its not even 7pm and i'm so ready for bed but Molly wont let me sleep.

Thought I could add to the sleep deprivation talk. How does 3 hours sleep out of 52 hours sound ?? OMG that is seriously bad stuff. Thankfully I got to get some sleep during the day yesterday and a half decent night last night. Mammoth birthing effort from a client.

Well Olivia woke at 10:30 like clockwork.. I was going to let Simon just deal with her but I thought I would deal with it till I got to tired.. I made it to midnight :lol: I must have ben so tired cus I fell asleep and woke up as she was heading down the hallway. So I took her to her bed and said well if you are going to wander the house you can go to bed. I then came back out to the lounge and slept reasonably well till 6 this morning.. Simon is back in bed cus he got about 3 hours sleep.. I am so thankful for getting some sleep.. Simon has to work tonight so I needed it
Anyways great news!! Last night we found out Simons uncle is getting married and we are invited.. but the most exciting news is that it is in Darwin and we get to go on a Road trip again.. :hooray: Now to convince SImon to go via Ayres Rock.. We couldn't afford the extra Km's last time but this time we have plenty of time to save and factor that in to it all..

Re feeding. Loren has 4 to 5 180ml bottles per day. Her routine is breakfast then bottle (around 10am), lunch, bottle around 2pm, maybe small snack, dinner at 5.30pm, bottle at 6 or 7pm, then bottle around 9pm....and some times a bottle in the early morning if miss wakes and I can't get her back to sleep, although I am trying to avoid giving her this bottle.
I worry that Loren is a bit too chuncky but at the same time what can I do about it??? I am not about to restrict her bottle or food intake. Compared to DD1 Loren has always weighed in 300 to 500g's heavier and 3 cms shorter.
When Sara was a bub I got coments about her being a skiny bub and looks as if I was not feeding her properly...Now Loren gets compared to Sara as if I am overfeeding her...I can't win.
Anyhow....Loren has been good. She has slipped into a nice sleep routine for days. Long sleep in the morning and short sleep in the arvo. She is pushing all sorts of things around the house..her high chair is the favourite!!!! She is standing on her own for around 10 seconds at a time.
Me - I have finally broken the 70kg barrier (only took 6 weeks of exercise). This week I uped my tredmil sessions to a min of 45mins and I am now doing a meal replacement at lunch time...I hope I lose another 4kgs by Novemember. My goal was to drop enough weight and then ttc again, but now I am thinking that I don't want to put all the weight back on again by getting pregnant.

Congrats Bek on the weight loss. I am trying to start doing something.. My bike riding isn't doing anything cus I ride at Isaacs pace so I set up the exercise bike under the house again..
Nic - I used to get on my old exercise bike...I think it cost me $10 at the tip...I only lasted 20 mins before my but got sore. Then I bought a rebounder tramp and I would do 20 mins bike and 10 mins tramp...but since giving birth my pelvic floor doesn't cope with the tramp!!! so DH bought me (and him) the treadmil..I love it (as much as you can love an exercise machine).
We have a treadmill but it needs a new mat... MIL got a great bargain on one the other week.. I wish we had found it before her :lol:

Just got to be quick our 2 year old is mucking up really bad bacause the eldest kids went to Nanna`s place for a couple of days,and he misses them,but he`s now picking on his little brother wont share his toy trucks and cars,I?m so sick of his behaviour of late.

Olivia seems a little better this afternoon.. She hasn't had panadol since last night.. won't sleep though.. Well thats a lie she has had a couple but not long ones to catch up,,
ah we had a heaps better night.. she still woke at 12:30 but she slept till 6 :) I woke a few times but only cus I was sleeping with a constant moving 3 yr old and a little heater named Olivia,,
I have started using the AC at night to take the humidity out of the air and I think we are all sleeping better for it

Bek- WTG on the weight loss. I wish i could get under the 70kg mark. I seem to be stuck at about 72kg mind you i havent tried too hard to shift the weight. I am not overly happy with my size but for 2 kids i keep telling myself i'm not too bad i could be worse. I am lucky i am tall so i can carry a bit more weight than some.
MoM- I hope the kids are giving you a break and things are well.
Trish- OMG 3hrs of sleep in 52hrs .............I dont think i'd be functioning at all. I hope the birth went well though.
Well things are ok in the house of Hoods. I have been feeling like a lousy Mama as i left my girls last night with my MIL even though they werent well. I had a hens night to go to and told MIL i was gonna give it a miss as i didnt want to leave the girls but she was adament that i should go and she'd be fine. MIL spends most weekends alone as FIL works shift work and the girls are her life. They were of course ok for her but i still feel rotten. Molly hasnt been sick since yesterday arvo and is eating and drinking again like normal. She still has the runs and is sleeping lots more in the day but i am thinking she is def on the mend. DD1 is still battling her cold but is ok. Made me laugh this arvo she was trying to squeal but her voice is almost gone and nothing would come out she got so upset and of course didnt understand why it wouldnt work. She kept repeating my noisy is gone in her husky voice. 5 more sleeps til DH comes home and i cant wait. :dance:

Hoody- Glad the girls are a bit better, poor babies. I went out Friday and Saturday night... have a bit of mum guilt. Left Ty with my mum on Friday and he screamed and screamed :( And he's normally really good for my mum.
Nic- Go the AC I reckon. The heat has dissapeared down here, it's cold again.
Trish- OMG, and I thought I was sleep deprived.
MoM- Hope your day got much better.
Not much happening here... Ty has a big googy egg (to pinch Ni'cs phrase) on the back of his head. I tell you, I leave him with dh for 3 hours and look what happens. Another tooth coming too, which I think explains why he has been constantly whinging for the last 4 days *sigh*

Aggghhhhh My boys are driving me mental today! First day back to school.. fought with Ethan too much this morning and then a whole kapoffle :lol: with getting to school.. but we have all settled down now.. Olivia finally napping.. Took ages to get her to sleep. She was whiny and crying and kept wanting to be picked up put down picked up put down (see pattern) I lay down on the (emergency) matress we have set up in the lounge thanks to the previous bad nights and thats where she is now.. trying to keep the other boys quiet is tough though..
ETA: hoody.. Don't feel worried about leaving the kidlets.. you probably really needed the break too :)
Hey girls. Not even going to try to catch up on the lost sleep. Lost is where it remains. I have had a couple of early nights though.
Poor Abbey has a cold again. We all seem to have it, this hacking cough and snotty nose. She is rattling like a steam train atm.
DP has taken Noah and Tehya away camping for a few days. They left about an hour or so ago. Abbey is in bed and I am finally sitting down with a cuppa. Shame the big boys are still around to annoy me.
Nic, woohoo on the sleep hun. Lucky you. We still have another week of holidays yet. Can't say that it has been too bad really. I sure don't miss having to run around in the morning and then the afternoon pick up.
Hoody, don't feel bad hun, mummy's need time out too. Sorry to hear your girls have been sick too. There is so much of it going around atm I think.
Bek, good on you on the weight loss too hun. I am so needing to shift this last bit of pregnancy weight. Was 61kgs when I fell preg, hoping to get back to that atleast, I am hanging around 67kgs now. What have you been doing to help you loose it. Scarey when I think about it. I got down to 47kgs after Joel. That's a whole 20kgs less than I am now. I am 5 foot 7, so you know I was wayyyyy too thin.
LoriRae, ouchie on Ty's googy, poor little man. This is where the fun times start once they are mobile. All of our bubbas are going to end up with an egg on their head at one time or the other.
Have been busy running around. Went and saw my client at home last night and had some new baby snuggles. He weighs pretty much the same as Abbey did, but he looks so tiny. Funny how fast we forget their size.

Hoody - I sat on 72kgs for ages, then I sat just above 70kgs until last week. Don't feel guilty about leaving your kids. It sounded like you really needed a break. Instead of feeling guilty just tell yourself that you are taking time to regroup and that you'll be a better mum for it:)...Now I wish I could get someone to take mine cherbubs so that I can regroup.
Trish - WOw on the 52 hours shift...Sounds like you are a good weight for your height. 67kgs is my next goal, I would be wrapped with that. Although I was 65kgs before Sara so I guess that is my ulitmate goal. I am 5'7 too!!! I don't lose weight easily. In the last six o weeks I have been hitting the treadmil. I started doing 30 mins 4 times a week. No weight lost. Then I cut out my evening biscuits and chocolate. A little weight was lost. Then I got the ****s with it, so now I am doing 35 to 45 mins on the tready 5/6 days per week, eating almost no sugar, no carbs at night and having a meal replacement at lunch. If this does not work then I am getting a surgeon..only kidding can't affoard that:)
I need to strap a monitor to Sara is measure how many times a day this kid says "mummy". I swear I can be sitting playing with her (seems this is all I can do these days) and looking her in the eye and the word is vomited out of her mouth...mummy, mummy, mummmmmmmyy...it is driving me nuts. She is up my bum all day. I have even tried doing heaps of activity with her but the more I do the more she wants....
Sorry for the rant, maybe I am just hormonal atm.
Lori - Loren has her fair share of bumps over the last few months. BTW DH's never look after them the way we do...I have learnt to turn a blind eye at some of DH's methods, I prefer him to look after them when I need it...hmmmm where is he?????

Well Olivia slept 3 hours yesterday after a mammoth screaming fit! She was soooo happy all afternoon. She even said Mum Mum Mum and I got it on video.. I was so excited.. She keeps saying it too which is soooo cute!
then last night UGH.. Went to bed around 8 and woke at 11:30 and was awake till after 1am.. Grrr. She woke up about 10 mins after i went to bed.. I was so pinged off..
but she is happy this morining.. Oh and she did the funniest thing yesterday.. I was holding her and Simon gave me a kiss.. And as usual she makes kissy sounds too so of course we keep givng little kisses and she kisses back but yesterday for some reason she stopped with a funny look on her face.. Looked at me, at daddy at me, at daddy then she slapped my face .. omg it was just so funny.. I did say don't hit mummy but couldn't stop laughing

hehe at mummy mummy mummy. If I say mum mum mum to kayla she quite defiantly yells out dad dad dad! Tallon's even started saying to her "not dada.. mumma!" LMAO. DH rolls his eyes and asks what I'm teaching our boy. hehe. She still only says mum when she's crying :(
Well, last night was a little better than the previous 2. Kayla was up crying and crying for 2 nights. It was sooooo tiring. And we were down at my bro's in canberra for one of the nights, woke up the household I think.. and coz Tallon was on the floor next to us, he woke up and cried too. Man, I was soooo tired LOL. i think I can definitely attribute these horrible nights to me drinking tea. I had normal tea whilst at my bros, coz he doesn't have decaf, and lo and behold.. bad bad nights. She's also a little constipated, just doing rock hard pebbles, so yesterday she only had one solids meal, bit of fruit, and lots of boob. Hopefully that'll help flush things out a bit!
We had a nice time in canberra.. the cousins got to play together, and we went to floriade, so that was a nice walk. I'm gonna pull the photos off the camera, will upload some to facebook soon :)
We have decided that we're going to start camping. I used to camp (rough camping too!) years and years ago, and I loved it.. and once you've got some gear, it's such a cheap holiday, so we're going to get ourselves setup to start camping. Nic - I'll have to get some tips off you on how you keep an eye on your kids around the fire and water! We're probably going to be doing posh camping to start with, at holiday parks etc, until we get ourselves setup properly. But now that I'm a mum, I'm not sure I can be bothered with rough camping.. I like the idea of having power & running water LOL. Anyway, i'm very excited about it all :)

Just a quick one. Ty is either coming down with something or his tooth is really bothering him coz he's not very well, poor little chop. Woke up with a fever at 3am and has not been well since.
Liz- Camping, you and Nic are brave women, I don't think I could do it... but I'm a bit of a snob and hate roughing it. Ty doe sthe same as kayla- I say mumummum and he goes dadadada!!
Nic- That is very cute, with Olivia slapping you.These babies seem to just get the funniest ideas in their little heads :)
Bekz- I'm impressed, with you cutting out the choc, sugar and carbs. You're a stronger woman than I!! But I have been pretty lucky- I'm 5"2' and about 50 kilos, which is what i was before I got pregnant. The wieght literally fell off me as soon as he was born (I think the bf'ing helped).
Trish- Awwww newborn snuggles :) Ty's godmum had a bubs not long ago and it was lovely having a cuddle. You forget so quickly how tiny and light and good smelling they were :)
I'm off to do a speech in a couple of hours- I'm being guest speaker for my granny's View Club, talking about my job. I'm a bit scared! Wish me luck :)
