Yeah I haven't taken Kayla yet. Was going to start her lessons this coming term. Still haven't decided. Coz I still get in with Tallon, so it might have to wait til next year. I should really take her in today, but I'm too lazy LOL.
What a totally rotten night. Ty was up for four hours screaming and eventually mummy lost her temper at 3am and left him with daddy so she didn't throw him across the room.
Liz- Enjoy the couple of minutes relaxation Ty's had a big developemental growth spurt the last week or so too, we've had the bad nights as well.
MoM- Go Keiran, clever little man!!
Hoody- I got af back about a month after the lochia stopped too and that was with round the clock two hourly feeds. Too fertile for our own good!!
Alicia- Ty is sick too, it's so rotten. this change of season is bad weather for kids getting sick- we've had a couple of kids in the hospital get really sick overn the last few weeks due to infections and viruses (kids that were already immuno- suppressed). I think it's the constantly changing tempretures and humiditiy that does it.
Hmmm I hope I haven't missed anyone. Have a lovely day everyone.
No swimming here yet either. It is something I have really wanted to do with Olivia oneweekend but just keep putting off; it is either too cold or she is sick or we have somthing else on. Hopefully on Sunday, when it is supposed to be 28 degrees, we will get to swim, however with the way her cold is going I'm not sure it would be a great idea. Gosh that was a ramble, sorry.
I ended up taking Olivia to the doctors today for a check-up. Her cough was much worse last night and we were up at 3am with her totally screaming the house down! It ended with DH sleeping on the couch and the little Miss in bed with me It means DH and bub got some nice sleep but not me - I just dont sleep as well when she is in with me, too worried about squishing her I think. Anyway she also suddenly got very red and swollen on her poor little bottom and girlie bits yesterday so I wanted that checked too. She is ok - we just have to put up with the cold til it goes and her poor little bottom is just totally irritated from all the acidy teething poos (Sorry TMI).
I hope everyone is well tonight and that the sleep fairies visit us all. Night
Alicia: I hope Olivia gets better soon.. I don't sleep well when my miss is in bed with me either.
Lauren: woops I got it wrong.. I remember now what Lochia is
LoriRae: I have been known to leave Olivia with SImon and sleep in the lounge. Sometimes when they won't stop in the middle of the night it can get so exsaperating.. (sp?)
Well I have probably missed some of you but Hi to all
Olivia actually slept all night. Wel from 9, she woke then but I think she was cold cus I forgot to put blankets on her. I went to bed at 10 and didn't wake till after 5.. I think I can't shake this bug because I am not getting good sleep.
Olivia is growing up to fast. she has taken to standing then letting go for a second or 2 then she realises she has let go. and she rarely falls on her bottom she lowers herself down.. I tell ya what though it doesn't matter how many kids you have it is still so exciting and sometimes we act like she is our first My mum is always saying, you do remember the boys did that or you have 3 boys too what are they up to I just love this age. developing so fast yet still a baby.
oh and cutest thing ever.. She woke from her nap yesterday and I went and lay on my bed with her for cuddles and she was crawling all over the bed and I said to her.. Hey wheres Mummy's cuddles? She stopped crawled back to me threw herself across me and actually gave me a cuddle.. I melted right there and then oh and she says mama pretty much all the time now.. and when she wants me she crawls around saying mama mama mama.. soo cute!!
and on that gushing note I shall say good morning and have a great day to all
Hi all,
Nic- That is tooooo cute with the mamama, wish Ty would do that. Love the cuddles too- Ty ended up half crawling over me last night then falling asleep, so I woke up with him laying across my chest
Alicia- again, hang on in there.
We had a big scare last night. I woke up at 1am. Ty was in bed next to me and not breathing.I had to shake him three times before he finally (after about thirty seconds) took a great big gasp of air and started breathing again. Needless to say, we're off to the gp today. It was so so scary. They are testing dh for sleep apneoa in a few weeks and I really think Ty might have the same thing. Thank god I woke up- I don't know if it was just by chance or if it was some mum's intuition kicking in, but it was so lucky I did.
Well I had a mini meetup with a few Sydney girls yesterday and it was lovely, I think a more contained venue might help next time but it was lovely in the park. Then we went to Aldi and saw all the toys they have for Christmas - wish the kds were not with me and I would have bought them then.
OMG Lori how scary. I bet you didn't sleep at all after that. I hope you get some answers.
Alicia - we have the bad cough here too. Monique and I sleep in the same bed and we kept waking each other up with the coughing although it's getting better. She has a middle ear infection as well but seems to be on the improve today. I hope Olivia gets better soon and you get some sleep.
Nic - how cute with the cuddles. I say to Monique 'where's mummies kisses' and she head buts me for a kiss on the head or I get the big open mouth slobbery kiss which is gross but so gorgeous.
MoM - well done Kieran. I get all teary when Monique does something new.
Hoody - thanks for the get well vibes. I think we might be on the other end now which is good. DH was home yesterday because he wasn't well so I hope we aren't going to get another round of something. I want the sickness to end.
Buzzie - really, no AF for you yet - wow.
Monique and I really need to get out of the house as we have been indoors while we are sick. I would love to take her to swimming lessons too and might look into that in a few months when it warms up. Do you just get those swim nappy things? Any brand that you recommend?
Tinsel: I use the huggies swim nappy things.. but I also have a pair that I bought from bigW I think but Kmart stocks them too.. Neither of these hold in wee only poop
Been a so so day here.. Olivia was pretty foul so finally at 11 I just put her to bed and let her cry it out.. I dn't usually let her cry for that long but it was close to 20 mins of whining more then crying.. she went to sleep for nearly 2 hours.. I am hoping she goes down for one more nap this afternoon.
Boys are driving me mental today.. in out in out.. its wet outside so they keep bringing in wet grass. I am so sick of sweeping the floor..

Is everyones babys going spaz at nappy change time??? Hi ladies,
Well according to gp, that's the problem with croup- sometimes it can make babies stop breathing in their sleep, even when they're not coughing or distressed. I got a lecture for not calling an ambulance, which is obviously what I should have done. Feel like such an idiot and a bad mummy!!! But I am just so sleep deprived and he seemed ok and I just went back to sleep... (so I did go back to sleep fater that Tinsel.... baaaaad mummy). Gp said to give two more days of steroids, and keep co-sleeping so we can keep an eye on him. he was ok last night- his cough seems to have broken up a bit, so that's a good sign.
Lauren and Nic- Yep we have the nappy change problem too... I've actually started putting Ty's nappies on backwards if it's too much of a struggle. They say to do that when they are toddlers so they can't pull them off themselves, but it's working really well for us now!! Not sure how it would work with cloth. Just think... a few more kilos and we can go pull-ups!
Tinsel- The huggies swim nappies are a bit spensive. i bought an Imse Vimse one off Ebay for $18 and it's really good.
