Lori - I wish I was as refreshed as you. We had a bad night with Monique not going to sleep until 11:15pm and then waking up lots of times through the night and screaming when I didn't attend to her straight away. I just fed her which made her go back to sleep but at 6ish this morning she wouldn't go to sleep unless I cuddled her so that is what I did until I got pins and needles and then put her next to me. She was all bright eyed at 8:30am but I was slow at getting up. We also have playgroup today so better get ready.

Buzzie - Yay on the tooth.

Hoody - WooHoo to Molly. Yeah, I would like to have my kids close in age as we are only planning two.

I'm so tired. BBL.

Just a quicky for now I?m behind in my studies and need to catch up because of the kids being on holidays.

Hoody- Go little Molly,there will be no stopping her now,lol.You know they are growing up now once they start to get around,but they are so quick.:)

Nic- I hope your feeling better,I have days like you are feeling,I dont know why,but I think its hormones as well,I was thinking of asking my gp to do a blood test for me.I use to be on antidepressants,Valium & Zoloft,but they made me really sleepy and agitated,had to get of them. Take care of yourself Nic.:hug:

LoriRae- Hope Ty is feeling better for you soon,poor little man.Sweet dreams for you all.

Buzzie- Its great when they get their little teeth(not the teething bit though)but they look so cute.:dance:

Iam taking the two boys (Tiger & Kieren) swimming tomorrow)they love the water and I like to get then use to it,especially while their young.At least I know they will sleep well for us,lol. god i hope i dont jinx myself.

MoM- Yep sleep is one thing here i can expect after swimming. DO you do classes? My DD1 has just started going in with the instructer which is so much better for me rather than having to get in with her.

just a quick pop in..

I am trialling something new with Olivia. I am not letting her cry at all unless absolutly necessary.. So far after just under 24 hours we have had some success.. She was much happier today and settled down easily way easily for her 2 days naps.. Went down straight away without any crying at all for bed tonight.. When she woke just a while ago I went down and got her right away fed her and she went straight back to sleep and didn't even wake when I put her down which is what she usually does..

so this could either work or bite us in the butt.. Will let you know :lol: Oh and with the boys we never left them to cry and they were happy and settled easy and were sleeping through the night by now. (cept Ethan but that was our fault) but With Olivia I have left her to CIO against my gut instinct and well not I am changing things...

omg I can't believe I forgot this.. Olivia did the most adorable thing today.. I got a totally unpromted slobbery kiss.. I said Livi say mama and she said baba and leant in and slobbered on me.. i swear I melted like a ice cube :)

Nic that is so cute :) Good luck with the no crying. I try not to let Ty cry but we are up most nights with screaming.
I am so exhausted and truly over breastfeeding. i want my body back now. I am starting Ty on some cow's milk with his arvo tea today, and if that goes ok I think we might start to wean.

Well I ended up taking Olivia to the DRs cus I am just so over this night time screamin and of course nothing wrong.. she is just a little brat :D The Dr said her weight gain is spot on for what her birth weight was so it isn't starvation waking her lol.. So nt last night the night before she woke at 9pm and was up till 11 then awake at 1 and again at 5. Last night in bed at 7 awake t 8 I panadoled her she was upi at bloomin 9:30 till 10 but amazingly slept till 4:30. I got a whole night without her in bed with me.. but now she is asleep on me and when I tried putting her in her cot she cracked it.. and seeing as its 6 and ALL the boys are asleep I want to keep it that way////

Oh and I got a blood test to check my hormones and last night af arrived :lol: but will be good to know how my hormones and so on are going anyways..

Lori: I swear I was in tears in last night cus Olivia was crackin and I said to simon its lucky the shops are closed.. I was ready to give her a botttle.. I know its not Bf thats causing her to wake it is just her... but I do understand wanting your body back.. it gets to that point sometimes..

Good Morning to everyone else :)

*sigh* Nic I'm totally hearing you on the nights. Ty is like that most nights- two or three hours at a time is a big achievement. He'll wake up and scream until we bring him into our bed. he doesn't always want to feed, just cuddle up to Mummy. The he'll wake an hour later wanting to play. Trying to put him back in his cot just results in more hysterical screaming. I have no idea why or how to fix it. But am I tired... this has been going on for 10 months now :(

i am just at a loss as to why!! She is generally happy during the day but night omg.. ssome say give nurofen but I don't use that with my kids at all. (personal choice) same goes for bonjella.. but I don't think its that.. yesterday the Dr was saying she has got into a bad habit and im like well DUH! but why scream and throw yoursekf about.. If I stood with her and rocked her she would be happy but I can't do that fr hours on end..

I don't know how you have coped for 10 months.. We have had our ups and downs with sleep but never this bad for so long.. its so bloomin frustrating and then I start getting annoyed at Simon cus he doesn't help or when he does he doesn't really do anything kwim? Like last night he was just holding her.. not comforting her or anything and the screaming was getting to me.. and when I did ask him to take her he rolled his eyes at me so I got annoyed at that.. I figured heck hes going to work for the next 4 days and I have to deal with the screaming on my own cus I don't expect him to help during the working week and he rolls his eyes at me.. not impressed.. Thankfully when we do have a fight its usually me just spurting F you or something else classy and thats it its over.. :lol:

Nic- Sounds like the fights at my house. And I too know it can't be pain every night.... I'm at my wit's end. At this point, I am just hoping Ty starts to sleep through regularly either before he is 15 or before I really lose it one night and throw him against the wall :)
At least I can still escape... some days I just hand him over to dh and leave. Can't stay in the house because I can't listen to the screaming anymore, and dh has no idea how to settle him (my own fault- I've settled him with nothing but boob all this time). But i don't think you'd have that option with three others to take care of as well.

I wish I could just walk out and leave Simon with her or even just the boys.. Like yesterday I was ging shoppping.. Olivia fell asleep and he had to go drop something at a friends house.. I said Iw ill take the boys (originally I was taking Olivia only) but then he thought it would be to hard with the boys :rolleyes: and I said to him well olivia is asleep i will just leave her in the car with you.. but NO.. so i had to wake her up and he was gone well over an hour.. really pinged me off.. vent over there..

but with settling with the boob all the time.. I do that but she doesn't want it.. She just screams louder or worse bites me.. she just wants me to stand up and rock her.. day sleeps she is getting harder to get to sleep to.. I either have boob and boob and rock and cuddle and oh so carefully put her down or she just screams.. i am kinda thinking she hates the cot so we are thinking once she is walking she is going into the toddler bed..

Hey guys, I hear you on the hard to settle. Kayla's still not too bad during the day. I can usually still wrap her and she goes off ok. But come night time... we wrap, unwrap, rock, feed, rock, lie down with her, feed, wrap... LOL... eventually she stops screaming and collapses into sleep. She's very tiring and I start to dread the evenings. She's fine after that tho, she sleeps with us, wakes for feeds but goes straight back to sleep. But that initial getting to sleep in the evening... OMG.

Lori - just wanted to say if you're wanting to start to wean, you'll need to go to formula, not just cows milk, as he's only 10 months. Hopefully you can stick it out just a couple more months and then he can be fully weaned onto cows milk :) Cheaper! hehe. I'd say because he hasn't been very well that he's wanting so much breastmilk. They're pretty clever knowing what's good for them :)

Nic - yeah, Kayla isn't fond of the cot. Well, at night anyway, she's not too bad in the day. DS got his big bed at 13 months when we knew he could climb off safely. He had fully co-slept since about 7 months, even during the day I was putting him to sleep on our bed, so he was fine with a big bed. The great thing I thought with going to a bed was that he could get up and bring himself into me, and I didn't have to get up! hehe.

Well, gotta go have my shower, and then we're going tent shopping! yay! We went to Anaconda on thurs night, and for all the raving we've heard about it.. they didn't have the tents I wanted to look at, they didn't even have the coleman cooler box I wanted to see, nor the foldup table/chair thingo! pffft.

We need one of those tables either with the chairs attached or not but it has to have a hole in the middle for a pole.. Reasoning is to hold the tarp up in the middle :lol: no where sells the bloomin things.. Well not here they don't./.

Liz- I'm trying to swap one feed at a time to cow's milk. I'm planning it to be a slow process. We do about 8 feeds a day so I really don't think one of cows milk will hurt him. I ok'ed it with my CHN, who said as long as his diet is ok, he's fine to go onto cow's at the moment for one feed, especially if he is still having 6+ bf. Hopefully, by the time he is 11 months we'll be on 5 or 6 bf's and 2 cows with meals, and then I'll increase it from there.

Aah no worries. Just thought I'd mention it, as it sounded like you wanted to just wean him. Sounds like a plan :) I wouldn't want to be going near formula personally, so I'd probably do it the same way :)

yeah I love this kind of shopping. Clothes & shoes tho... nope - hate it LMAO. But shopping for 'stuff' is fun :)

oh big hugs to all these mummys having hard time! must be so tough. I was just thinking today when i will start putting ash in his own 'big' bed - when hes like 5 LOL, When do they stop falling out of there own beds???

Took Ash to the beach today again.. so cute he just loves it... i wish he would stop eating sand tho!! :doh:

Do you have to wean babies onto cows milk? can you just stop milk/bottles all together and they just drink water or what ever dunring the day?
I would like to try to wean Ash after hes one, only if hes ready, as he LOVES his water so much. i didnt think there was an age they 'should' keep drinking milk???

Speaking of weaning, has anyone got the cervical cancer vaccination? my gp is nagging the crap out of me to get it, and theres no proven study that its ok to do it whilst breastfeeding so i said ill wait, so i have till decemeber before it goes from free to $800! ive heard so many mixed opinions about it!!

Also to Hoody and Mummy of Many - i thought as you are now in our group i would mention, (Ash is asleep, so you can tell with the long post today lol) most of us in our buddies group are doing a secret santa, but birthday thing. So we are all posting pressies to a person on the 1st of decemeber, i have a list of the names and have drawn them out of a hat and emailed the people who they have, If you are interested u are more than welcome to join and i can redo the list - if you would like to, please email me (buzzandash@hotmail.com) your bubbas full name and postal address and ill add u in :D - Please do not feel abliged to do it! :)

I'm so glad (well not glad but you know what I mean) that we aren't the only ones with this waking up business. Monique isn't really interested in feeding either and just wants to be cuddled back to sleep and I have gotten into a bad habit of putting her in bed with me so I'm not up and down and now she wakes up at 11pm and is unsettled until I put her in bed with me :rolleyes:

Last night we had spews at 2am IN MY BED - Gross. Got DH up, change sheets etc all back to bed them spews again but this time it was like a clear mucous spew and we had a towel underneath her thank goodness so not as bad as the first one. We blamed it on teeth naturally but she still doesn't have any. She didn't have a temperature or anything so not sure why it happened. She seems ok today although had a little erky perky at Grandpa's house on her jeans.

Buzzie - yep, I'm happy to go with the flow re 1 Dec. I'll have to work out my MSN thingy. Wish we could pop down to the beach but it's 2 hours away from where we live.

Liz - I want to get a big family tent although I'm not a huge fan of camping but if there are facilities nearby then that's good for me.

So tired and we have to babysit tonight so might go have a rest. Have a good one.

Glad you are all reasonably well. Having a horrendous day here. I am so tired and to top it off my sister woke Molly up from her nap when she had only been down 1/2 an hour so i have a seriously grumpy and over tired baby on my hands. My sister "didnt mean" to wake her but wanted to "check" on her whilst she was asleep but everyone knows Molly is super sensitive and you only have to think about touching the door to her room and she wakes, so needless to say i was a lil frustrated. Mind you she is pg herself so i'm bound to get her back in some way one day lol ;) We went and had some family portraits done this mo and i cant wait to get them back. They are the first nice family photos we have of all of us. I was a bit annoyed at the lady though who took the pics as she put Molly on a little wooden chair and she fell off and bumped her head resulting in lots of tears and a big bruise. DH wasnt impressed as when he 1st saw the chair he said it was an accident waiting to happen. :wall: He was right.

Well i hope you all have an awesome weekend. My girls are off to their Nanna's tonight so we can go out for my dads 60th. :dance: I get to sleep through the night and in tomo.

don't you hate when sleeping babies get woken. Olivia is a really light sleeper too.. drives me insane!

Miss Olivia finally had a 2 hour sleep this afternoon.. It was nice I had 2 of them.. Shame Ethan didn't make my life easy .. He has lost tv for the whole weekend and the cmputer for a week./. and due to turning his light on when we said no Simon took his light bulb out.. Tomorrow is going to be fun

So now I am just waiting for Olivia to go to sleep then its ME time

I have given up on the not letting Olivia cry business. she was just playing me.. We have gone back to giving infants friend after dinner and the lat 2 nights she settled better and slept better so maybe she is a gassy baby?? she has been doing some ripper farts :lol:

Liz- Yep, that's the plan :) We'll see how it goes- Ty is such a booby baby, he just wants to feed all the time, that why I thought I'd start with a little bit of cow's milk now and get him used to it. He drank it, but it was one part milk to four water, so it probably didn't taste like milk at all. This is the beginning of weaning for us. For a while there I thought we might end up feeding long term, but I don't think it's going to happen. I'll be happy to have made it to twelve months. I don't want to touch formula either- I am so proud to say he's never had it. I don't see the point of trying to feed him natural food without preservatives or additives, then giving him formula anyway iykwim. Btw, I am a 'stuff' shopper too. Books, furniture, homewares... not much patience for clothes (although I will admit to buying lots of pretty shoes that I never wear).

Lauren- I think they need about 500- 600 mls cows milk/ bm/ formula until they are three. But I could be wrong. Then they need their three serves a day of dairy, for calcium.

Nic- Hope you got your me time :)

Hoody- Enjoy your night out. We actually tried to go to a wedding with Ty last night. We didn't even last to the speeches :rolleyes: but it was a last minute b-list invite, so I don't feel bad.

I'm easy to do whatever- I'm on msn and here and email pretty much every day (it's a weekday, right?).

Well had a reasonably good night out :) Got in at 10pm and i was a lazy bones and didnt get up til 10am this mo :redface: I was supposed to go to the gym at 9 with a friend but cancelled at 6am as AF is in town and i was up in the night changing sheets- since having molly things are a bit heavy and hectic in that dept iykwim. I also had a rotten headache which i thought was rather unfair considering i didnt even have 1 drink last night :wall: I shoulda had a couple and at least i would have had an excuse for feeling so *****. Spoke to MIL about an hour ago and girls are been good. SHe said she cant believe how much Molly sleeps so i am glad they are been good. I will pick them up in the next hr though as DD1 has a birthday party to go to.

Lori- had to giggle at the lots of pretty shoes i have a shoe fettish too with close to 70 pairs in my wardrobe.

Aussienic- Hope you got your you time in the end. At least you gave the No Crying a chance and if its not working well at least you tried iykwim.

Hope everyone else is well. Off to fold the washing then to get my babies. Its lovely to have a break but i am missing them.

I finally got some ME time today.. sort of lol.. Olivia was aslep and the boys were sent to the couches and I reclined and closed my eyes.. I got 40 mins rest

and so exciting Olivia said work! I swear to you thats what she said.. She says Car, dada, mumumum and we think brother but this afternoon I was talking and I asked her where the car was and she pointed to the window (so cute) and then I said Daddy has the car at work and she said work.. and she said the same thing 3 more times.. I had to ring Daddy of course who just said well of course she said it.. she is my princess so therefore smart :rolleyes:

then she TOOK A STEP.. she was holding onto my pants and I stepped away and she let go and usually she lowers herself to the ground but she put one foot forward.. wooo go Livi.. I highly doubt it means she wuill walk soon I think it was justa fluke but oooo so cute!!

wow Nic a step, that is scary to me, Sofia is still not crawling as such but somehow still manages to get a couple of metres from where I put her.

Don't have the night screams here, but Sofia it is so hard to get a decent day sleep out of her.

Well we have had a busy weekend here, my Mum and Dad were here, on Friday we bought my Wii fit and have had fun on it (my Dad didn't like the assessment though) on Saturday we had a picnic at Milsons Point where we took some lovely photos on Dad's camera then the card malfunctioned and died thus we have lost all of them, then today we went shopping and then to the Beach mainly for Maria than Sofia, fun but tiring. Oh and tonight we had an early birthday cake for Fia as mum and Dad cannot be here for her party.

Kitten- What a lovely weekend by the sounds of it.

Off to get our car seat changed to forward facing. Ty is going to love it. I'm not so keen but he is 8.8 kilos and it only goes rearward to 9 kilos, so it has to be done. Rotten weather- rainy and yuck. And heaps of housework to be done *sigh*.

Bummer... I just did a huge post and lost it.

Hugs to mummies whoes bubs like the night life...I know a few ladies on BB who have had great success with sleep schools. If the issues continue I would highly recommend going to one. At least you can get a second opinion and a plan happening. It is not good to see mums and dads suffer for so long.

Miss Loren just loves pushing furniture around the house. She gave me a sloopy kiss the other night. Unlike Miss Sara, Miss Loren is not fond of strangers. She just won't smile at anyone she doesn't know. She just gives them a really intense stare...

DH wanted us to let Kayla cry it out last night :( No way am I doing it. I had to keep telling him 'this too shall pass' LOL. It's only that evening sleep that she's so hard to settle for. Tallon has had trouble going off to sleep the last few nights too. I think it's a combination of them having slight colds, Kayla has a cough and Tallon is getting my sniffles, together with the strange weather. It's quite warm in the evenings, and Kayla is such a sweaty bub, which is why I think we struggle with the wrapping & not wrapping. I think she'd like to be wrapped to go off to sleep, be unwrapped once asleep, but it's hot for her when she's wrapped.

Aah well.. we'll survive. LOL.

BekZ - I'm not a fan of sleep schools. Whenever I reach a point where I feel I can't do it anymore, I've found bub changes anyway, or suddenly things are different again. So I don't see the point in going there to be told how to deal with one thing when it's gonna be another thing the next week LOL. We just push on through. We haven't suffered for long.. it's all in phases :)

Nic - wow at taking a step! Tallon let go and walked on his own at 11 months. I'm seeing how my two compare hehe.. going by Kayla's corrected age. So she has til 12 1/2 months to keep up! hehe. Bad aren't I - comparing ;) Not that I'd think any less of her for taking longer or anything - just interested to see when they each do things really :) She walks along behind a pushing/walker thingy (lol - great description) but she walks like she's in rehabilitation or something! hehe

Well, soon as Raggs finishes.. DS is going to bed, and I dunno what I'm gonna do with Kayla. I really should get stuck into some ironing.. it's piled up into a ridiculously huge pile.. so I need to at least make a hole in it.

Oh.. Raggs just finished, and Tallon just called out 'time bed!'. What a good boy :D I best go!

Liz - I agree totally if bub is just going through a phase them sleep school is not needed but if the issue is long standing then I would go definately.

guess it depends on the issue. We haven't ever slept through the night.. some people might think that's an issue. hehe.

Well, Kayla has settled herself for 2 sleeps so far today. Yay! Hopefully that will carry through to this evening.

Qucik question re food. Has anyone introduced hard cheese, tomato, citrus yet?

all three here, cheese is devoured, Citrus is loved and tomato is thrown nearly a metre from the high chair after first being squished, not a pretty sight.

Liz: just a suggestion for Kayla. Would some classical music and being danced around the room (calmly of course) help wind her down? sometimes when Olivia and when Jacob was a baby if they don't settle I would turn up the stereo on some very calming music and dance with them.. I did it with Olivia tonight cus she was just past it. she was left to long while I tucked the boys into bed and was just past it so I needed to calm her down..

Lori: lol at the shoe fetish... I hate shoes .. I try not to wear them, Although I despaeratly need to go shoe shopping.. ugh my most hated job!

Louise: bugger the camera card stopped working.. did it just say it when it is in the camera?? Mine does that sometimes but when I put it in the comp it works.. beats me why...

Had an ok here today.. olivia is doing better at going down to sleep. didn't sleep as much as I would have liked but was our fault cus we were out and about for her morning nap.. Its so hard to stay home at nap time..

Anyways simon is on night shift.. All the kids in bed.. I put then to bed at 6:45.. much to thier disgust.. but bad behaviour gets you nothing and they need to learn that.. Ethani s semi awake.. but everyone else asleep.. im off to visit ebay :)

Buzzie - wow. I wouldn't call that a nap - hahahaha. I bet you were checking on him all the time and I bet you didn't know what to do with yourself.

Bek - Monique is funny with cheese. Doesn't like hard cheese, grated or the cheese sticks but will eat cheese spread. We haven't tried citrus but she likes tomatoes although having said that, we haven't tried tomato outright, it's always in something. Might try her on those this week.

Kitten - sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I can't believe Sofia is nearly one! Where has the time gone?

Nic - woohoo on the step and 'work'. That is cute.

Lori - Ty will love the seat around the other way. We still have Monique rearfacing with the seat we have but she was forward facing in mums car and loved it.

I was sooooo sick last night and still feel a bit icky. I had a nasty gastro type thing so DH took today off to help with Monique which was great. I booked tickets to Australian Open today and I can't wait. I'm going with my sisters and DH is fretting because he thinks Monique will be cranky as she is a bit of a mummys girl.

What type of food do you feed bubs for lunch and snacks? Monique is mostly eating what we have for dinner which is handy but feel like I should give her more finger foods.

Olivia LOVES mandarins and oranges, will eat tomato mixed in with other things (pasta sauce, etc) and wont even put cheese in her mouth (she just plays with it). Although I have only tried grated cheese, what other types are people giving their bubs?

Tinsel - for lunch Olivia usually has yoghurt and some fruit. Now though she has started having avocado sanwiches or rice cakes some days (when we are home coz they are messier!) I love giving her a sandwich because she can eat it herself while I get to eat in peace (gasp!) and she loves feeding herself.

Not much going on here today. Mothers Group is on this afternoon but not sure if we will go as Olivia has woken up with a cough again so I don't want to take her out to the park unless it warms up a bit here.

Bekz- Ty looooves chunks of tomato to munch on, and hard cheese, cut into sticks (won't have it grated but). Haven't tried citrus, but he doesn't mind kiwi. We do rockmelon, cold beans and broccoli, honeydew, watermelon, banana and avo as finger foods for snacks when we're at home, milk arrowroot biccies or rice crackers when we're out.

Having a rough time here. I logged onto dh's facebook account (being the sneaky snoop I am :redface: ) and found a few messages that I was probably better off not knowing about. Can't really blame him for flirting with other women- I don't have the energy to flirt with him- but it still hurts all the same :(
