I think you mean Federation Square Lauren, not QV. I can't remember the name of the cafe either but will look it up :)
OK I checked the Fed Square website, it is called Cafe Chinotto. The website is easy to find and check out the map on if anyone wants to see where to come :D

Alicia WTG on the full nights sleep :) Most days for breaky Molly will have cereal or toast followed by a yoghurt, Morn tea if she is up- fruit or sultanas or something similar, Lunch either s/which or pasta such as left over spag bol, Dinner meat and veg/pasta or on a lazy day just finger foods such as toast, steamed veg etc etc. She will often have a custard, jelly or yoghurt after dinner too and has 3 bottles in a 24 hr period and she sleeps from 5.30pm-7am most nights. However she has always been a good sleep and only wakes if she is teething or unwell.
Had a good night last night and so far a good morning too. Went to the shops with my sisters and Kmart have 40% off clothes so did a bit of shopping. They had really nice singlet and undie sets from size 2 reduced to $3 then take your 40% off. Got some dora and diego ones for my DD1 and a couple of friends kids.
Well i am off to the gym tonight  and i cant wait. I really am having a "i wanna get fit and healthy" phaze but have to wonder how long it will last lol. Then i am going to work another night shift so will be a tired mama again tomo but dd1 goes to DC tomo so just Molly and i to worry about.
Well have an awesome day everyone.

:help:Ok everyone, I need some muchly needed Advise, opinions, anything......! :help:
 OK, I have just found a job add that I am VERY keen on. Not garrenteeing ill get it but I would love some advice from those of you back/going to work and childcare..
I emailed my resume just cos I was so excited when i saw it, Its specialising in paediatrics and its sort of close to home (13mins) and also in a hospital 2mins from me where i have previously worked before...- Great money too!
 I have a huge passion for my nursing and lately been craving going back, yet I will be heart broken to be away from Ash.
Mum looked after Ash for the very first time for 2 hours yesterday whilst I had my doctors apt and besides i almost didnt know what to do with myself lol he was perfectly fine with mum. - The position is 4 days a week, but mum said she will do one on her day off, so that leaves 3.
SO, my dilemma is,
1) How do i know when Ash is ready for childcare?
2) How do you pick a great day care, and most importantly - do they tell you ur baby is upset i think you should come get them!!
3) How an earth do you do it??? start one day a week then slowly do more??
4) Does this mean Ash must be fully weaned? And he should have cows milk now as a calcium substitute??
 Also am I being selfish because ive been given the chance by mum to live here just paying very cheap board, so i can be a stay at home mum, and i should be using that to be with Ash as long as I can........!
 I so dont know what the right thing is. I know lots of mummys have to go back to work, some very early.. but i have never had a child in care so i dont know how they react to it or if ill regrett it. I guess I can always try it and quit if its too much. At least i have that flexability being at home with mum, but i need to get back out working again, i feel like a leech on mum!
 Am i gonna miss all the exciting things Ash will do cos hes with someone else, and will his needs be filled? And i cant take him to gymbaroo and mother group!! I can still do swimming on weekends i guess. ...... aaaaahhhhh :wall:
I think the biggest fear is him being upset and them not telling me or them being mean to him!! - How is a mother supposed to feel comforted leaving there baby with a stranger who also has 4-5 other kids to watch at the same time!
Would love to hear oppinions and other people experiences!! Sorry for the BIG me post.

Buzzie i have to be super quick but will BBL- to answer one q for you my DD1's DC ALWAYS call me if she is upset and i go and get her. It sometimes frustrates me as by the time i get there she is ok but its nice to know they let me know. Also i can pop in or ring at any time to check on her. TBH i think they call me so much as she has chronic asthma and i think they worry she will get so upset and give herself an attack.
My 2nd point is you can always do it if you get the job and if things dont work out you can always leave iykwim. At least then you know you've tried and weather or not working is for you right now. I personally am lucky in the fact that DH has my girls when i work and DD1 only goes to care 1 day a week to give me a break and Molly some 1 on 1 time with me.
HTH a little

Im gonna take him to occasional care in the mean time to get him used to being away from me, at least i can start with a couple hours at a time!

Hi all..
Thanks for the well wishes..
Olivia had a lovely day AND SHE TOOK 7 STEPS!!! We are so excited..
oh and I bought her this cute dolly today that when you squeeze its tummy it kisses and says I love you. Olivia thinks its the funniest thing ever and laughs at it and usually leans in and kisses it back.. Poor Daddy said he is jealous. He has only ever had 2 kisses from Olivia and yet she has been kissing Dolly all afternoon
I also think I am sporting a broken toe :/ I have had a sore foot for about a month now and just been putting off going to the Dr but today Simon dropped the milk jug for the coffee machine on my foot and well I am in a fair amoount of pain. it is burning and the whole top of my foot looks a funny colour. so I wil get it checked tomorrow. I know they can't do anything about broken toes but they might be able to chop it off at least ;)

Hello everyone,
(Lauren- I`ve tried to answer your questions to the best of my ability) and just so you know all my first 3 children have all attended pre-shool/day care. Tiger is starting after xmas, two days per week,so i can do casual work & still look after the other kids.So this is number 4 going into day care, they have all loved it,& made lots of nice friends.
Here goes,lol.(long)...........
-most child care teachers will tell you, that the younger the child is, the easier it is to get into a routine & separation anxiety levels are lower.
-How to pick a good child care provider?
-look around at a few places, don`t pick the first one you go to.
-ask around,friends,family,word of mouth.
-ask`s lots of question`s about how the centre is run,( write them down if you have too.)
-Lauren, If your mum is looking after Ash for 1 day,In my opinion, you would be better to start Ash off with the 3 days so he gets to know his routine, without chopping & changing days, also some child care centres dont always have places available when you may need them.
- about your feeding him, breast milk is uaually exspressed & you can make him,his bottles up with your milk, unless the centre you choose dont do it.Then you will have to wean.
Make sure you tell the child care centre that you want to be contacted no matter what the situation,if Ash is up set, they should ring you.
It usually takes the little ones about 2-3 weeks to make the transition to day care.
I don`t think your mum would think your spongeing off her,she is probably proud of you, TALK to her.....;)
As for missing out on things you still have 3 days together, were you can have lots of fun together.
Lastly if you think it`s not working out,you can always leave your job,and try again when Ash is older.
Good luck with your decission, sounds like you already have it worked out, little steps at a time & you will be fine. Hope this helps a little, god my fingers are sore, lol. Hugs hun.
Well hope everyone is good,I?m going to have a nice cuppa now.
We had our DD,school practice concert today,I`ve volunteered to help her class this year,it`s been fun,the kids had to learn 3 dances, for their end of year xmas concert.
ok,see you all soon,cheers.

Buzzie - I started Maria in childcare at 5 months and though she had a bit of a rough transition (very clingy nature) she settled in well. It also meant that they probably got to see most of her firsts, but they had a policy of not telling the parent, but waiting to hear from the mum or dad that "little Billy" had stated crawling/walking/eating on own etc. For Sofia I started at about 10 months, she has settled fairly well, probably taken about a month. She settles well in the mornings, I get there give her a big breastfeed and then leave, get there in the afternoon and feed her straight away and then go home (an hour to travel). With both girls I expressed until they were 12 months old, Maria I think it was closer to 15 months. Go on your gut instinct with the Childcare you choose and also ask what the staff turnove is like, with Maria I used to get frustrated that she would just get attached to a carer and then they would leave.

Happy Birthday to Olivia for yesterday. Yay for mum you made it threw the first year - congrats on the steps she will be off and running soon.
Daycare - i have went back to work now and Ethan goes to daycare 5 days a week - mainly because we dont live near any family. He loves it and i am finding - he used to go one day a week from 5 months - that with the 5 days he is settling in much faster and he has a ball. I go in and suprise him and he is playing and happy with the other kids. I think it is all up to you, finding a good centre is hard. I went threw half a dozen with my other 3. The best thing is if you dont like it once they are going you can always pull them out.
I thought ABC centres were unsure for after 31st Dec this year? Is that only QLD?
-
Omg, I have missed so much. Ty is about to wake up so I just popped on to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA for yesterday :happybirthday: BB was down in the morning and didn't get a chance to log on later.
Lauren, I'll have to come back later this arvo and read that big post...
So I'll bbl
ETA- Ok, Ty is sleeping a bit longer than I thought he would!
Lauren- Big  for you. I don't know much about childcare, but I can imagine how you're feeling. Like the other girls said, if it doesn't work out, you can always leave.
Tinsel- Thanks for asking, went ok with my boss. He actually said to keep my costume and not resign, he'll keep me on as a casual and just not roster me on, so I can go in and work when I like and he'll pay me for it. Ahhh, I love my boss :)
Nic- Yaaaay!! Go Olivia, clever girl. Ty is still a way of walking, thankfully.
gtg little man is awake

Thankyou sooo much guys, that has helped so much. And susan, sorry for your sore hands
Im unsure about the ABC thing here, they reasured we would be ok, but who knows! ill ring today and ask more questions! I rang all the other locals and it was either a looong waiting list or some days were booked out durning the week.
Weaning will be the hardest, although he doesnt feed to much more these days durning the day, he loves bbs before he sleeps. might need to find more tactics!
-
morning all :)
Lauren: I can't help you with CC questions.. when I went back to work Ethan was 5 weeks old but I was lucky I worked in a child care centre so he just came with me..
Poor Olivia was so hot last night. I can't seem to find a happy medium for her.. Ac is to cold and a fan is not enough. the other night we had the portable one and the lounge one going and just the kids bedroom doors open (we slept in the loounge) and she slept all night. I can't have a fan blowing right on her as she still has her angel care monitor..
Well I am hungry.. no breakky yet :/ Toe is better today but going to the Dr about my foot in general lol..
best go eat before I vomit lol
-
Nic - Thats lucky to be able to do that!!
Hope your foot is ok. ouchies on the toe!
Well Our first day of weaning, was supposed to start today, but i gave him one this arvo cos he started crying for it when he was woken up. I still want him to have some milk so i might start expressing on monday i think, just to get him away from BBs. Other than that hes been drinking water all day anyways.
is anyone still experiencing Colic? im unsure if i should go see someone about it, or just keep hanging in there till it goes away.. if it will.. Ash had another bad night last night crying in pain :(

Just a quickie today i'm exhausted after working last night and not getting much sleep at all then i came straight home took DD1 to DC and put Molly to bed and i've not stopped cleaning since. Done the floors, changed all sheets etc and caught up on all my washing and folding. All thats left to do is to Vacuum the girls rooms but if i do now it will wake Molly. Then i'm off food shopping so theres no rest for the wicked ;) Molly has been asleep for almost 3hrs so i really havent seen her since yesterday iykwim as she was ready for her nap when i came home this Mo. DH said she was an angel for him last night and first thing this mo though he couldnt say the same about DD1.
Nic- glad Olivia had a good b'day and i hope your toe is ok. I broke mine in April and it still gets sore if i wear heals.
MoM- thanks for the msg on FB :p We are all doing well just very busy- i'm sure you know what that feel like. Good on you for helping with your DD's Xmas concert i want to be one of the mums who is involved at school when my girls are older.
Lori- Your boss sounds awesome at least you dont have to give up work as such you can just work when you want and when it suits you.
Everyone enjoy whats left of your day :)

Good Morning!
Where is everyone?
Quick one here as I am on my way out. Olivia had her first accident with blood involved this morning. She was standing in our bed and chewing the headboard when she fell a bit. Her top gum was bleeding but seriously she was over it in less than 30 seconds - we have a tough little cookie here!
Well off to the movies with a friend today, then out for lunch - all baby free! :o
-
I'm here.. Just finding it hard to find the time to jump on lol.. Simon is on holidays so we are out and about a bit more..
olivia has just gone for a sleep so I am off to do some jobs.. been out since 7 this morning  went garage saling with my sister.. Was so nice. We just had Olivia :)
Be on tonight no doubt :)
