Alicia: How did your family go last night?
Michelle: Hows your family with the fires?
Did the cool change help much?
-
nic, my extended family (except for my grandparents on that side) is very estranged. I havent heard anything but im sure everyone is ok.
-
I didn't realise how bad the fires were till I turned on the news this morning
-
ive been watching it non stop.. 25 ppl already dead and there saying its worse than ash wednesday!!!
Alicia - is everything ok???? 2 of my brothers mates parents houses have been of fire! and its getting too close to home for my liking.. im SOOOO angry it was deliberately lit!!
Michelle - what a crappy time for you. i would prob just laugh, then cry and maybe laugh again lol at least you still have your health....(am i healping lol) i thought i was stressed but these fires have certainly changed my perspective !!!!
-
I don't get why people light fires.. I can't get it.. mental illness or not I don't get it...
Alicia: hope you and your family are ok..
Who else is down that way?
-
Mum and dad seem to be ok still. They are near the Kilmore and Kinglake fires and I know at least 3 people who I went to school with who have lost their homes, it really is aweful. My parents are staying as their town is one of the evacuation points at the moment so they think they will be ok, although they are surrounded by smoke and ash is falling all over the place.
My sister is in Bendigo so we were also a bit worried about her and her famly but she rang this morning to say they are ok, although her brother-in-law thinks he lost his house.
It really is scary and I feel so useless being in Melb.

Alicia- Hi hun,i understand how your feeling, these fires are terriable,I hope your Mum & Dad are doing ok,there is a hot line number you can ring, but I?m not sure what it is- but maybe your local police station could give it to you or Yahoo has been updatting the fire situations, with Towns...etc...if that`s any help hun.
I hope all these fires weren`t delibretly lit,the little mungrals should be locked up,so many people have lost their lives,i pray we don`t have another Ash Wednesday,42 people died in those fires years back. I?m sayiny a pray for everyone.

Just read in a news report - 35 confirmed dead and more predicted, it was lit by arsonists and they are RELIGHTING the bloody fires after firefighters have put them out.... it is making me sick!!!!
Alicia - wasnt the main fire in kinglake??? :(
-
I just read that too Lauren.. so much bad news today.. A 5 yr old boy was taken by a croc up north :(
and my mum rang a little while ago. She is a foster carer and the little girl she had for most of last year was hit and killed by a car last night. I am so upset. She was only 10..

Hi Nic,that was terriable news to recieve, how sad for the 10 year old girl, may she sleep with the Angels.
We are all going through some very sad & crazy times atm.Glad to hear your not caught up in any floods, hope you and your family are ok,Nic.
Buzzie- I can`t believe some of these fires were deliberately lit, they should be put into gaol, never to be released. I feel for all the families that have lost loved ones & their houses.pets...etc...Our family prays for some relief very soon. I hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone.

49 dead! :(
Alicia - kinglake is worst hit with 6 deaths, Please let us know if your parents are ok - im thinking of u hun!
-
Mum and dad are in Yea - close to Kinglake. I went to school with lots of people from Kinglake and still know a lot that live there. Apparently the fire is getting closer to Yea but it doesn't seem to be their major concern at the moment. I know mum said the town is full of people who evacuated from Kinglake and are sleeping in their cars and tents down the main street. It is so scary, my dad is in a wheelchair so really it is just mum fighting the fire if it gets too close... hopefully they will leave but I don't think they will, I think they will choose to fight it, they did last time.
-
Alicia: I hope they leave.. *hugs*
Thanks Susan..l hope she is at peace now.. Poor troubled little girl she was..
lauren. 49!! :(
-
Beks? i think - hugs to you. My son has epilepsy he first had a seziure when he was 5 months old - not the same as the febile but the seizure side is the same. Hope your little girls is feeling better soon.
Hope everyone who is near the fires or floods or their familys that you all stay safe. Hopely some of Qld flooding rains go down to vic and vic heat goes to north Qld. That would fix both problems.
Susan - happy birthday to your daughter hope she has a wonderful 8th birthday.
Everyone else sorry i didnt get to you this time will try next time. You ladies are so busy it took 3 pages before i found the thread! Saved it in the favourties this time. Happy birthday to me, hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday
