Hi
Trish - Vicky was 2.86kgs at birth (38 weeks) and yes she is still small mind you her brother was 6 weeks prem. 2.5kgs and he is now following the growth curve to be over 6ft and he was slow at putting on weight in the first 4-6 weeks.
To all out there with unsettled "windy" babies - hugs hugs hugs - we have just got thru that and after 2 weeks of crying/screaming, no sleep (me or DD), feeding every hour or less i was a real cranky pants, but i have kept counting down to the 6 week mark and what do u know - DD is sleeping 11pm - 5am last 5 nights and the evenings are almost completely quiet and she now wants to have play times - god love her.
Also my 2yr DS has starting to show very serious interest in being BF - unfortunately i gave up on BF with him @ 2 mths - not enough info/support - has anyone else experienced this & thoughts on it would be welcome - im not bothered if he wants to but am concern it might be regressing for him?????????
Cheers
Morgan - I don't think giving DS a feed would be regressing, it's a natural thing for him to do and be curious about. You may find if you let him have a feed he might not really want it.. or he may think it's great and you can tandem feed them! hehe.
OMG - I'm falling asleep in front of this post! LMAO. Will probably be back tomorrow girls. Night!
Bek, my little girl sleeps in her bouncer through the day and she loves it. She's very settled in it actually. She won't go down in her cot.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this or have experienced their little ones in a bouncer to sleep through the day?
Hope you are all well.
Morgan: why not hand express and offer a little in a cup :)
sleep well Liz
hey bindy: I think if they are asleep then so be it.. they will eventually sleep in their cot :)
Bindy - I figure if your baby sleeps well somewhere not in the cot so be it, you have to do what works for you and the baby. Sofia sleeps in a hammock during the day and cosleeps at night and that suits me fine, I love breastfeeding but not actually getting out of bed at night so I feed in bed.
you got in before me Nic
Girls...sounds great. You know, being a first time Mum and all, just good to know what others think too!
I co-sleep with Madeleine too, it works for us ATM but I eventually want her in the cot, let's just hope she doesn't put a fight up with regards to that issue
I have Sofia's cot sidecar to the bed bolted on so there is no give between the mattresses.
I don't enjoy co-sleeping.. We do it from time to time.. usually after 3-4am feed when I am so super tired.. I just worry I am going to squish her or something. I wake up often thinking I have squished her...
And bindy ask away.. Some of us are old hands at it.. (although I sometimes don't have a bl!!dy clue what i am doing )
Aussienic - i have done that for him and the first time he wanted more and the next "yucky" LOL
I was thinking it might be good to do with him as while he is a fairly well-behaved boy and completely dotes on his sissy - he looks like he is feeling left out and sometimes just walks around like a lost puppy - mind you he had me all the time for the last 2 yrs.
Madeleine still sleeps in her SAFE AND SOUND anti roll pillow in the bed with us. I sleep so lightly that if she moves I wake up! But I know what you mean about worrying about rolling on them. The thought has crossed my mind Nic...
I have one of those safe sleeper beds.. but she likes to cuddle right up close to me
Morgan: when my 4yr old asked for some I said sure. He ran away saying.. You're gwoss (gross) mum!!!
My 2yr old was BF till 21 months and he says no boo boo.. Livia;s mummy juice
Nic, they do like to cuddle don't they...speaking of cuddling, we better go to bed.
:) I should be heading off too.. will regret it tomorrow staying up this late..
sleep well everyone!!
LMAO.
I am jealous of you girls co-sleeping - my DP is a smoker & a heavy sleeper and could quite easily roll onto her - he rarely hears DS if he cries out thru the night - so either DD sleeps in her bassinet near me or we a have snooze on the couch.
Sometimes I wish Madeleine would go down in her cot but she loves to sleep with Mummy! She's such a sooky bum...gotta love her though.
Bek/Bindy - We went through lots of different sleeping stages with DS, sometimes he'd only sleep in our arms, other times the pram was our saviour, sometimes the bouncer, sometimes the portacot! Coz it has a bassinet bit which you can make swing lol. So just do whatever works :) It actually made him a very flexible sleeper. I've heard of some babies only sleeping in their cot.. and they can't sleep anywhere else!
Morgan - My DD1 was only bf for 6wks and she gets extremely jealous when i am bfing Loren. She actually hits my boobs when I am bathing her or trying to cuddle her.
Bindy - Loren setlles really well in the bouncer some times so I am going to use it when necessary.
Nic - Yesterday I had enough of Loren waking herself up after 20 mins of sleep so I put her on her belly and she slept for 4 hours!!!! I continued this for night time and she slept from 10.30pm till 3.15 and then from 4 till 7.30am...Wow I am a different person!!!!
Rory - hi ya...
Trish - where are u?
I am too afraid to co-sleep mainly cause DH ssleeps too deeply. I do however bring Loren to bed in the early morning for a couple of hours if she is unsettled and I am buggered.
Have posted 2 new pics. One of Lolli smiling and one of Sara drawing on her face whilst mummuy is bfing.
Needle day today....yukkky
 yay for sleep Bek!!
good girl Loren for letting mummy have some decent sleep :)
gorgeous pics too :)
I am HOT HOT HOT!!! Walkd Ethan to the park.. Eth and Isaac on bikes and Jacob on his scooter.. omg I am never doing that again. At least not without another adult.. and then the kids Eth was meant to ride with didn't turn up so I rang the mum and they were driven to school  Thankfully she came and picked up Ethan for me otherwise he would have been late to school :)
hi all,
havent been on for ages, Tia and Alisha have finally started school. and Alisha's been doing 1/2 days this week so i've been going to and from school 3 times a day. so i have barely had time to scratch my butt.
Mirani's still sleeping through the night which is so fantastic. and only waking on the odd occasion.
fil has just arrived from the uk and has stayed with us the last couple of days. dp has just left to take him to his sisters place.
had a lovely rainy day yesterday. it rained ALL day. it was the first rain we've had all summer, made a nice change from the usual 36 degree days we've been having lately.
hugs for everyone and take care.
Bindy - my DS loved his bouncer & I used to let him sleep in it whenever he was unsettled - sounds fine to me & glad it is working for you!
DS used to rock himself in his bouncer too when he got a bit bigger & got to the stage where he was bouncing so vigorously that he could actually bounce the bouncer from one side of the room to the other. It was hilarious - I should have sent it into Funniest Home Videos!!
Bekz - gorgeous pics - I have added some new ones too if anyone wants a sticky (I can't stop taking photos!!).
Glad to hear there are a few co sleepers out there - I have been doing a bit of it too. I would never have been game to do it this early with DS but am finding it works well most nights for me now so cheering!!
Hi to all the girls in here & I will bbl for more news!
:DHello to everyone :D
Well where do I start
In regards to sleeping Olivia sleeps in either her pram or swing during the day very rarely in her bassinette because as soon as I move her once she is asleep to put her in bassinette she wakes up or will wake shortly after, I think she has only gone to sleep in my arms a handful of times and I have placed her in bassinette to sleep... At night time I try to put her in her bassinette to start with and once she wakes for her feed she comes into bed with us....I can not stay awake while feeding... This works for us quiet well :D
Had our late 6 week (She is 7 weeks and 3 days then) check up at the Dr's on Wednesday and Olivia now weighs 4.3kg besides her yucky eye which has been like that from birth ( blocked tear duct) she is perfectly perfect... The Dr's room was freezing cold and Olivia screamed and screamed when we had to un dress her poor little cherub she is meant to get her needles next week too hasn't time flown by :(
I have a question regarding pooh  Olivia's poohs for the last day have been the mild green colour they have 3-5 days after birth is there a reason why she is passing that colour again and she has been poohing a whole lot more cant believe how many times she poohed yesterday....
Also this morning I had this horrible pain in my breasts sorta like sharp stabbing pains that really really hurt, this was after feeding as well and it didn't feel like let down anyone else experienced this...I have no signs of matistis..
I have a a 1 min video of Olivia in her swing the other day I have to share with you all its so cute.. :cryinglaugh: Sorry about it being on its side but it wont let me edit it at all...
Video of olivia - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Well things to do
Hope all the babies behave for there mummy's and daddy's today
Michelle: How weird is it just having one baby at home.. you Perth girls stole our rain.. We now have your hot sticky weather
Mto2: Gorgeous pics :) I can't stop taking pics either..
Teena: Great video.. Love the smiles.. Sorry I can't help you on the poos and boobs.. I hope someone here can though
Olivia has been asleep for 3 hours now.. I;m bored  Too hot to do housework and no motivation anyways.. I should try and have a doze but Jacob simply won't lay down..
Mto2 I hear you on the photo's I have over 500 I think Of olivia already on the PC.... Just cant seen to get enough  Want to capture every thing as she MAY be our last
I should put some new ones of Olivia in my gallery ..ok I will now
Cute video Teena.
I am also a member of the camera brigade. It is impossible to atop taking pictures of Olivia!
Ahh what a night. Olivia went to bed just before 6 and the night was ok till I went to put the boys to bed. Jacob was no impressed.. Loong night.. He finally fell asleep after a lot of crying and screaming ( all from him too ;)) at 9:20.. Only to wake an hour later to continue where he stopped earlier with more yelling and carrying on.. No Idea whats up.. He has never done this before. he was super upset earlier and wanted Daddy but daddy is doing night shift tonight.. yay for me!
He is finally asleep.. now what am I doing up... Do you think all the crying would wake up a certain little miss at a more decent hour for mummy?? Noooo don't be silly.. she is wide awake now at 11:30.. Although I have to say **melt** the smiles and goos and gaas have been pretty darn cute. but my eyes are hanging out of my head
*sigh* sorry for the whinge. I have had very little sleep..
Olivia didn't go back to sleep till 12:30 and Jake woke again but only a little but then Miss O woke at 2, 4 and was up for the day at 6 **yawn** And now all the kids are in FANTASTIC moods ( sarcasm)
And I am trying to clean the house. Although bugger it.. Its clean enough.. thank goodness DH is on days off now.. Well be once he wakes from his sleep
Sorry you had a bad night Nic :hugs: We didn't have a great night either (although not as bad as yours). Olivia has started going to bed at about 7ish and sleeping like a log. Of course this means that she wakes earlier. So last night I half woke her at 11pm, when I went to bed, and gave her a little feed thinking it would hold her over til a decent hour but it didn't work  To be honest even when she is sleeping I find it hard to sleep for a good stretch as she is so noisy in her sleep that I keep waking anyway.
Hope everyone has a nice Saturday. I am leaving little Livi with her daddy for a few hours this afternoon and going to see a 'chick flick' with a friend :)
Alicia, I am such a deep sleeper I hear nothing once I go to sleep... I do hear them when they wake for a feed though but nothing else.. Simon used to have to wake me when we had Ethan  he would go Nic Ethan needs feeding or he would change his nappy and give him to me lol...
What movie are you going to see?? I would love to go to the movies again :)
Morning everyone...
Alicia hope u enjoy ur arvo bub free,.. i might attempt a movie some time this month with Ash
Nic sorry to hear ur not sleeping much! i can sympathis atm. Ash is a good ish sleeper but my back is out again this week and sleepings been a nightmare.
Took Ash to baby massage class last night.. got 3 weeks of it.. and i was soooo paranoid he would hate it and cry. but would u believe he loved his legs being done but didnt like the tummy... dont blame him, must hurt poor little man. Everyones babies were so small, the lady next to me had a 7weeks and was half ash's size and couldnt believe wen i said hes only 6 weeks! lol Ash looked like he was on steriods compared to the rest.. hehe
Well im in such a good mood cos GREYS ANATOMY is back on tomorrow!! WHHOOOHOOOO!! Lets hope Ash sleeps thru it so i can watch in peace! HAHA! :p
Nic can so relate the car thing Olivia if unpset will scream and scream unless she has the dummy and the car is moving, if movement stops she spits dummy out and starts high pitch screaming not a fun thing to have to endure when you are alone in the car (lucky Olivia's car seat in the middle as I manouvered my arm around and popped her dummy back in when we where moving love the dummy chain makes finding it so easy)
Sorry to hear you had such a poopy night bound to happen though as we all know and us with other childre esp younger ones can't go back to slepp unless they do which we all know they don't when we really need the too... In a way so glad my other children are older as they can get there own breaky and amuse themselves while I sleep in if I need to... Which don't always happen a you an be assured Olivia will do a mega pooh first thing in the morning... Which Olivia did this morning was coming out the sides of her nappy was on her clothes so it was a shower morning for us both...and she just did another one I thought she would've been empty after her mega pooh this morning....
She didn't pooh yesterday so suppose she is making up for it, hate to see if she went for a few days without poohing ..OH the MESS :lol::lol:
Well enough dribble for me hope everyone is well ...Been so very quiet in sorted scarey quiet
teena - did u say olivias poos were green? Is that a bad thing? Ash has been like it too lately, i dont know if its cos ive been unwell too, but i heard its not supposed to be like that.
Hi Lauren yeah olivia's poohs where green the other day, but didn't ever find out why they went green...still curious to know though...Is Ash ok besides the green poops...
Lauren: OOO Greys anatomy  I love that show but I bet its on at the same time as other s things I enjoy watching. Heres hoping for sleeping babies at that time.. Stupid thing.. On sunirse yesterday moring they had a headline.. Dr Mcsteamy battles Cancer.. and I thought oh how sad. He had a tiny skin cancer removed  (ps not saying skin cancer isn't serious but come on)
Olivia like a massage too.. Her arms and legs seem to send her off in her own world
Teena: The car thing must be frustrating when on your own. I don't have to deal with that thankfully. I remember bigpooey messes from jacob.. boy he was horrible in that area.. poop everywhere all the time.. Funny thing is he pooped every day if not 3 -4 times a day and he used ot get it everywhere but Olivia can go up to 5 days without one and yeh its huge but it hasn't leaked out badly yet..
and yes it is very quiet in here isn't it...
Hi all! Nic & Buzzie - excited about Grey's Anatomy here too!! Cant wait!!
Well i had my first mothers group get together on Tuesday and absolutely love it! There is a serious girl shortage in babies here in WA - Summer was only one of 3 girls out of 11 babies and is the 4th youngest at 9 weeks!! When i was in hospital she was the only girl in there out of 7 babies! But on this website is a totally different story!
Stayed at a 5 star hotel in Perth for a couple of days this week (we wanted a heated pool to take Summer swimming) and she absolutely loved it! We put her in those huggie swimmer nappies even though they were a little big (for babies over 7kg) we didnt have any accidents haha
Hope everyone is well! I'm at my parents business so gotta run!! Enjoy Grey's Buzzie and Nic (hopefully we all have quiet babies for that hour!!)
teena - besides his wind he seems to be ok, he was pulling at his ears for a while which i was usure if it meant something or him discovering his ears, but everyone seems to think its discovering them. maybe it has somthing to do with my antibiotcs??
nic - i hate it wen they over dramatise things! does olivia like her tummy being done too?
nikki - same with the boys in my mothers group, we got 2 girls out of 11 and my massage group has 3 girls to 7 boys LOL thats awesome about ur holiday in the perth. i cant wait to take ash swimming but was unsure how old he should be. thats great summer loved it.
Hi girls, I am still here and have been reading up on everyone, looking at your pictures and watching the video. Life is very busy here atm, normal little kiddie stuff then I have a 13 year old that is not only wagging school, decided to take off yesterday and still hasn't come home :(
I went out looking for him today and so was Joel, he did spot him at a bus stop but by the time I got there Brandon had gone. His dad has since found him and has him with him. Grrrrr, little *****, keep your babies young girls, atleast then you always know where they are. I had the worse nights sleep, if it wasn't Abbey it was me awake stressing so much that I felt ill.
Trish - how scary, glad your DH has found him.
LOL Louise, thats my ex DP. But yes I am glad too :D He's hiding out in his room now not talking to anyone.
