babyluv *loads of hugs* thats all i can offer :( I really hope everything sorts it self out soon with S! You are a fantastic mum! I still weigh 70kg and need to lose another 10 before i can get back to my pre preg weight!!

Renee, I didnt have any bleeding at 4 weeks but my midwife did tell me that it would get heavy around about then, all i have is a tiny amount but its actually yellow! i see my doctor next week and will ask her then :/ *hugs* It was heart wrenching, I dont want to know what im going to be like when he gets older and when he plays sports or do stupid things at school!

Bexie, this is the reason why i so wanted to have a girl!! Dress Dress Dress! Boys are definetely harder to dress, but i put him in bright colourful clothes to cheer me up. The way I got Liam to smile is to watch out for his pay attention time which is usually just before he screams for his feed, and when he is laying still awake, I always smile at him while we are BFing and when i gaze into his eyes. Now he just automatically smiles at me when i look at him! It is definetely rewarding even though i really dont feel like smiling at him when he screams in my ear, bites my nipples or pulls my hair!

caixlin, that sounds fantastic, i have mastered to lay down breastfeeding, so convenient for the so tired nights, just pop him on and go straight to sleep, athough its not doing my neck any good!

Kirsten, I hope you get your 9 hour baby back! Does she cluster feed all day after that? having a kinder 40 mins away is a bit much, or were you held up by all the roadworks cause of the floods?

Well, I think L is having a growth spurt, he has sucked me dry and had two bottles of formula, just gave him a nice warm bath, lathered him up with a whole heap of sleepy baby lotion, went to make another bottle of formula to find him fast asleep. he was just screaming his head off a second before i walked back into the loungeroom! I did have an Italian lullaby on called Ninna nanna and it must have worked like a treat!!
he has been awake for most of the day, he has been cooying and being very happy on his playmat and having lots of cuddles and lots of feeding.
hopefully he will sleep through the night now! My boobs need to recover!

I need to catch up on some housework!

MrsBexie: I didn't get a real smile from S until she was 6 weeks. I smile at her all the time, when we bf etc She is happy enough to smile it just takes time she will do it & melt your heart when she does. I so want some of those frilly knickers, they're so pretty. I saw the headbands with the interchangeable clip on bows etc and they're so pretty too :)

KayleeF: You'll get there with the weightloss! You can do it :) You, me & Bex all have roughly the same amount to lose I think so we should def encourage & motivate each other. I have a wedding in 9 weeks, I'm a bridesmaid so 1kg a week should do it. I don't want to be the fat bridesmaid!!!

Kirsten: I think you may be right about the wind. She has been so farty today, could it be something I ate causing farts? She has been doing them most of the arvo/night, in between screaming going bright red & tucking her knees up but last night was diff she wasn't doing any of those things. I gave her infacol earlier & some gripe water before.

AFM: Sienna has been screaming the past 2 hrs. She even had more Zantac today. But 2 hrs is better than 4! I came into her room about 5 mins ago & it's nice n dark. Rocking in the chair & I downloaded a sounds app on my phone and have the beach one turned up as loud as it will go. It's just waves crashing. I think she zonked within 2 mins of me turning it on! It may be just a coincidence though.

Thanks Kaylee i will keep an eye on it. It is not heavy just hanging around, I have always been a tampon girl so i am getting over pads!!!

Ava had such a bad night! She woke nearly every hr!!! She had kicked her way out of her wrap and then a sheet and a blanket! It is quite cool so i think she kept waking cause she was freezing! Man i am feeling it today! She has her first photo shoot today so i really hope she is a good girl, this morning has not been a good start but she is asleep now so hopefully she will wake and be nice for the lady!!! Has anyone tried Gripe water? Does it do anything?

Renee: I found gripe water did nothing and the Weleda baby colic powder works first time everytime! It's AMAZING! But others here said Gripe water is great, I think Little Mrs has had lots of success with it. I have had return of the red blood, not heavy or even like a period, but just red and a lot more than there was, I was down to liners and getting hardly anything on them, and now back to revolting pads, just the regular ones. I too hate pads!! Good luck with your photo shoot.

Babyluv: When Ivy screams it is always wind - but she doesn't have reflux. If I am really super duper diligent and burp her properly after each feed (and also after each side) she is pretty good and calm at night and if I don't, boy do I pay for it at the end of the day. Then the build up of wind - like you said Sienna is doing - ends up coming out as super farts! Ivy is a farting champion. I have no idea if it's something you eat making her farty, it's just so hard to tell. The waves crashing sounds great I really hope that works for you. Friends of mine used to play white noise to their daughter and as soon as you turned it on she used to lay down and zonk out, it was so cool!! And you can easily do 10kgs in 10 weeks, I have faith in you, you won't be the fat bridesmaid :D

Kaylee: Boys are so much harder to dress, there aren't lots of boys clothes in the same way there are for girls, but there are some really really cool websites that have great clothes for boys. There is one called Boy Germs that recommends lots of toys and accessories and clothes for boys. After a 9 hour sleep Ivy will feed every 2 hours for the first 3 feeds then back to normal...usually, although it's been a week or so since we've had a 9 hour sleep. I knew she'd be lulling me into a false sense of security :) There are Kinders a lot closer than 40 minutes away, but we are sending DS to a Steiner kinder (and steiner school later on too) and that is the one we managed to get him into, there is a closer one in St Kilda but very hard to get into and I didn't get Q's name on the list early enough. The drive is fine as long as Ivy keeps being so good in the car FINGERS CROSSED! Have you got any photos from Karen yet? I'm eager to hear how they turned out :)

New Dawn: :hug: these babies must all be talking to each other and having belly pains at the same time, either that or it's a stage they go through at this age....Hmmmm....could be it.

Bexie: you are ruffle obsessed!! But I have to admit they are super cute, ruffly bums are great!!


Caixin: yep with the bath you say the same thing just before you do it everytime eg "Ivy, Ready, Go" and pour a small cup of water over their heads. Ivy was a bit confused by it at first but now she loves it. they have to be sitting up so it runs down their face and can't get in their nose or mouth. Did you get the dvd in the bounty bag? They show you how to do it on that. Yay for the sleeping that Claire is doing, what a champ!!

AFM: Only 2 wake ups last night, I just fed her in bed again...sooo lazy. Today Ivy has been doing some MUCH better sleeping and MUCH better burping, so I have managed to clean up the lounge/living area, including sweeping all the floors and put all of DS's toys away. The kitchen is clean and have done 2 loads of washing!!!!!!!!!! yesterday I did nothing because Ivy was so upset and I just couldn't get the wind out of her no matter how much I patted and bounced her, we ended up giving her the colic powder last night and it worked straight away again, I love that stuff!!!!!

Babyluv: Maybe it's indeed just a lot of wind building up by the sounds of it? I've found that sometimes C needs to be burped more than once. I've got roughly the same amount of weight to lose too so let's work hard together! I'm hoping the waves crashing does it for you each time. Oohh internet shopping... so addictive!

Mrs Bexie: LOL on the ruffle addiction! Girls are certainly so much fun dressing up :) Yay on having ur SIL here. It's nice to have someone to talk to at home besides a baby isn't it? Claire's certainly heaps bigger now, she gets weighed tmr so we'll see.

New Dawn: How did PK's weighing go? Has he grown much more? LOL to winter woolie at 27?! I'm so the opposite, I love cold melbourne weather, can't wait for winter to arrive. I'm a little sad that if we move back to Singapore than we won't have winters anymore.

KayleeF: Hope L slept through giving ur boobs a break. LOL to him liking the italian lullaby! I find lying down to BF really good when I'm tired but C doesn't seem to get a full feed that way and just falls off to sleep so she's up very soon again for another feed. So I only reserve it for when I'm too tired to even get up.

Renee: I haven't tried gripe water but we've got one of those grobags that we use when it gets cold and so don't get the kick off blanket problems. They are such great kickers aren't they?

Kirsten: I've gotta try the water conditioning thing. Not sure what Claire will think of it. I did get the DVD, it's lying somewhere under the pile, gotta go dig it out. What a champ you are doing all that housework! I'm so lazy and tired that I just fall asleep when she sleeps. :P

Went for my OB review today and he said that the stitches were healing very well. Had to have a PAP smear done which was really uncomfortable ( almost forgot how much I hate this stuff) and we talked about contraception etc. What's everyone using for contraception? Think we'll be waiting at least 12 months before we try for our next one so body gets to recover and also so we can really enjoy Claire first.
C was so good in the car there but screamed the moment we reached the clinic and screamed all the way through my appointment and blood test. Boy it was hard to concentrate on a conversation with her screaming! I had to put her down in her pram while I had my smear done and she screamed till she was all red and sweaty. Poor thing. Then she was good again in the car on the way back. What a little stinker!

Thanks Kirsten. I don't know if she has wind pain or not. She seems to be really upset after some feeds but not others. Never at night only during the day.

Well photo shoot went well. Ava was pretty good. She had a few moments of screaming but the lady was great and ended up being here for 3 hrs. Some of the shots she showed us are just beautiful!!!

The gripe water worked really well for us the first time, had to use it again last night and didn't do the trick tho. Does seem all our bubs are getting bad tummies lately, maybe it's our milk changing around now or something.

The ruffles are way too cute!!! I can't look at the links you girls post, I would go broke!!! Looking forward to lots of pics of your girls in them tho!!

On the weight loss, you girls are doing better than me, i still weigh 76 so another 15 for me to drop! It's just not moving, I'm doing 100reps of 10kg weights and 50 situps a day, and BF but it's not wanting to come off!!

I've got it easy with the water thing, G loves the pool and the bath. We have bath time every day around early arvo.

G had a screamer evening last night, poor thing it sounded so painful it lasted from around 5pm til 9pm, but then she fell asleep on me (I wrapped her up and sat in a cold room with her ear up against my heartbeat) and then she slept from 9:30 til 1:30, the from 2 til 5 all in her own bed in her own room! Yay!

Charlotte had such a bad evening yesterday! I had to give her zantac and then use the Brauer colic relief liquid later because she was screaming!! I had almost a whole bag of caramel popcorn and heaps of glucogel jelly beans and both of them have huve amounts of glucose in them! Glucose is from wheat... so I don't know if it was that cause she was perfect until atfter the movie and that would have been after the jelly beans and popcorn! I really hope it wasn't.

My child has sleep, grump and fart issues today!

OOh just quickly, I am excited because we found out today that DH is FINALLY getting his trade bonus that was meant to be $500 every 6 months for 2 years ($2000 total). We only had received one payment when we first moved to Wagga back in jan 2009.
So anyways, he called me today while he was at work asking for our bank details and when I asked why he said he was getting his trade bonus. We are getting $1000!! WOOHOO! It's going straight to my 100,000kms service and rego transfer to QLD but we were goping to have to put that on the credit card so I am happy!!

Finally the govt got their act together, it's meant to be an allowance to help trainees and apprentices buy tools n stuff while they are training so they really should have been paying it on time but they are slack.

so now i am going to have to go there in person and get it sorted!

Hmm we havnt got georgia's birth certificate yet either, we posted it off 5 weeks ago...

I sent our forms off, they sent them back because I didn't put payment details. The form only had one of * next to the commemorative ones and the * meant fees apply. So I figured fees didn't apply for the first birth certificate but they do! Damn it.

Kaylee: the prrof of birth should be on the back of your centrelink form. My MW filled out the back, signed and stamped it as all MW/OB's should do so you don't need the birth certificate to do centrelink. Oh and the ruffle pant makers do make boys sets just without ruffles I think! LOL...

Just a quick one form me ( again ) Pk has only just let me put him down so now I need to quickly make the snot blocks for tomorrow... Cant wait to meet you all :) ...

Hello Ruffly Bum Mums, just a quick one from me, I'm so tired and want to go to bed!

I just got Ivy's Birth Cert this week, Monday I think. And I did the same as you Mrs Bexie. didn't put payment details in. It was a bit confusing on the forms especially to someone who's just had a baby!!

Charlotte is having another shocker today!! Screaming n constantly feeding and then screaming n feeding at the same time! What is with that?? The nipple is in her mouth what more does she want?! I gave her a bath to try to make her sleepy. That didn't work! Now she is feeding but sleeping and keeps randomly going crazy and squirming. Silly girl!
And I still have the flu! Its total crap. :(

My little Georgia bear rolled over by herself yesterday! yay!

Stinking hot here today, and my dog has a face like rocky after the fight! The neighbours have nasty pig dogs, and my dumb boy stuck his face thru the fence didn't he, so of course the other dog latched onto it! Poor boy is all sorry for himself and not leaving my side today, but it leaves me needing to do something about the fence! Gah!!!

Little Mrs: OMG I hope your poor Jack is ok! That sounds awful! OOOH to the roll over! How fabulous! Ivy has been trying to roll over, but DS is usually there putting trucks on her, so she doesn't get a lot of practise :D I am also very jealous about the Melbourne catch up - I couldn't go because DS has a sore throat and a cough, and I didn't think it was the best plan to spread it around to tiny babies :(

Well we had another crappy night! She is just so whingey and unsettled and feeding ALL THE TIME! Maybe she is going through a growth spurt?? And she is fighting sleep so hard. Yesterday she only had 2 x 1hr sleeps all day and then didn't go to bed until 1am and woke up max of every 2 hours through till about 7am, then grizzled and whinged the whole morning... now she is fighting going to sleep in her bassinet, she keeps falling asleep then waking up crying. It's so frustrating! Silly babies.

I think all our bubs were pretty well behaved today at New Dawn's. Though there was a point it was like a symphony of cries and those that weren't crying decided that they should join in too since everyone else was crying. It'll be so much fun once they start sitting up and wanting to play more. Claire's absolutely exhausted and slept most of the afternoon after getting home. Hopefully it means she gets a good sleep tonight too.

Boy oh boy PK is sooooo grumpy he is crying even in my arms, doesnt help its become quite muggy ( not your muggy though Little Mrs I remember all to well the NT wet :) )

New Dawn: DS is fine now, little monkey, he has been a bit of a menace all day, I just thought it would be best if he stayed away, I would hate for any bubs to get a sore throat then you'd all be cursing me for bringing my germy kid along :) DS was asking after the Ob appt why we weren't going to play with "the girl" I had told him there was a girl his age to play with. And he was very whingy about missing out too.

Caixin: Ob appt was fine, no dramas there, he did ask me about contraception and I told him I have a small one here and a big one out in the waiting room playing with the toys :) Yay for Claire having a good sleep in the afternoon :) Hope she sleeps well for you tonight.

SorryI haven't posted in ages, I've been reading all your posts though.

So went to the Melb meet up yesterday which was great. KayleeF is right it's like we all had known each other forever, cant wait to do it again ladies. All the babies are just so cute I wanted to take them all home lol! Thanks so much to new dawn for having us and for your fabulous snot blocks :-)

So O & I had our first night away from DH last night and I am very pleased to say that O was a little gem. Had my whole family here for dinner (9ppl to cook for) so O went down at about 10pm (after all her coudles) and has just woken up, woo hoo almost 10 hours. Boy oh boy ladies I wish I knew what we were doing so I could let you all in on the secret, he he, nar I'm sure we just got lucky and got a sleeper!
Otherwise all is going well with O, her hair's growing so fast she is going to need a haircut before we know it, he he! I remember someone mentioned that J&J products were too harsh? O has the same problem with the shampoo (which she clearly needs lol) so we have switched to curash and its awesome.

Littlemrs, oh your poor puppy thats not cool at all. Wow I cant believe G is rolling already, that's fantastic you must be a proud mumma!

Kirsten, poo to Q being sick, we sure did miss you, hopefully you can make it to the next one.

Babyluv, how's S going hun? Hopefully you can make it to the next catch up too.

Caixin: I think it is a growth spurt with Charlotte... And yes, there is heaps of ruffle bum sellers!! I have like 8 in my favs. Lol

New dawn: yay to bulk billing!!! I hate having to pay for drs! Lol. Stingy! An what the hell is a snot block??? Did I miss something? I hte snot so whatever it is, everytime I read that I almost gag. Lol.

Keli: I've missed you!! Yay to olive being pretty much a perfect baby!! I am insanely jealous but very happy for you! Oh how sad she needs a haircut!!! It's way to cute to cut!!! I think you shoul just let it grow and get some clips.

We had another shocker. She will not sleep between 7pm and 12am... And won't let us put her down and won't stop crying. My sure fix doesn't even work anymore (boobies always worked)!! :( it's so frustrating! Then she feeds 2-3hrl all night. And this morning after her 5am wake up she wouldn't go back to sleep until 7... So I am tired! I wish I could figure out what is wrong!!! I'm already not eating certain things, I only give her Zantac on the bad days so maybe I should give it to her regularly? I hve no idea. I just wish she was happy... And slept.

I am praying so hard she sleeps today In the car and is good because I really don't want to listen to screaming for 2 hours, and it would-be nice to actually enjoy going somewhere.

Those ladies with babies with reflux, can you hear when they have it? What i mean is i can hear when ava vomits but nothing comes up and she swallows it then screams!! It is not all the time just after certain feeds. I have a feeling she has reflux.

I have found that I can hear it gurgle in her throat, It sounds like she is going to vomit but she never does, and yes she screams. For charlotte it's not every feed that I hear the gurgle but she does scream a whole lot!! And it's a painful scream iykwim... It's not just a whinge or a cry. What you can try is getting gaviscon infant from the chemist, no prescription needed and it's a thickener. So it thickens everything in their stomach and helps prevent it coming back up so it doesn't burn their throats. If she seems happier that may be it, however I found it did make Charlotte constipated so after a few days she ended up screaming for a different reason, that's why we went onto Zantac.

Does it sound like she is in pain when she is screaming?
