aw, poor botty. sometimes they just have nasty poos when they're sick too.
DD the same with poos - can't leave her in a dirty nappy or it's BAD.
She's been better with her poos last couple of days. :dunno: maybe just the slight change in diet? Someone else today suggested probiotics, so will see if I can get some.
She moved. Slid along on her bottom  Wonder if this means she'll be a bum shuffler.
It's been sunny and warm of late. No doubt we're expecting a heatwave.... Seriously thinking we need to relocate. Maybe tasmania...?
Have fun with your sewing machine Georgi! Mine's been gathering dust for a while now. Still have a big bag of nappy-making material.... some day i'll get on to it. A friend had a baby recently and I was going to make him a couple of nappies. Have cut the material out.... but that's as far as I've gotten.
Her 2nd top tooth is still bulging. bloody thing better come through soon. She was a bit better last night. Think I might have gotten more than 30 minutes sleep at once  Must laugh. Or will go insane.
Was talking to someone today with 2 kids roughly the same age as mine. It's amazing how our boys have had such similar reactions to having a little sibling - all the same regressions and acting out. Bit reassuring I guess. Luckily DS has been going through a fairly self-sufficient phase of late. Still very demanding at times, but also happy to play alone for periods of time. Which gives me a chance to do things. Especially if DD is happy to sit nearby and watch him. She really adores him.
Take care everyone. Hope the winter lurgies are well gone
CRUMPET - Red butts are nasty hey. Eden gets them a fair bit. Which is my fault for feeding him kiwi fruit & raw capsicum etc. I either use paw paw ointment or bepantham (SP?)
EJ - Thanks for the tip. I'll check out Made it.
JULES - Yeah you're right. My body is just exhausted. Not good. Terribly sad news about the charity ride :(
AUDAX - Glad to hear your sickness has cleared. Lucky you... I wish it would in this household
MADB - Ha, I also wonder if I'll ever have the time to do any sewing. I haven't even opened the sewing machine box yet lol
Well, where do I start... Melbourne was great. It was weird meeting people for the first time but feeling like we've been friends forever. Eden was well behaved but seemed to hate the car ride on every outing we took. He is normally fine in the car but we don't do many trips over 45mins and we did a few 1 hour trips. But in all, it was great.
I'm still quite sick. Just lazed around on the couch yesterday as I felt terrible. Had a small bout of mastitis. A low temp & very sore right boob. It's feeling better today but I'll still try to keep it empty. No rest today though as Byron is at Kindy so Tuesday's is cleaning day. I have so much housework to catch up on since the nearly Brady Bunch left.
Having 5 kids for 10days was full on. By the end it was ok as we had a good routine going. DH was home the whole time too so I never did it on my own. It was hard being sick though. I'd say it'll take me a good week to get the house back in order & back to feeling normal again.
Not much else I can think of.... Have a great day!
Sorry I've been missing a bit. Been SOOO flat out with wedding prep (only a few days now!)
Got the final meeting with the celebrant today, to sign a final peice of paperwork. And to pick up the last of the candles, get haircut, and all that stuff.
Hannah's got 2 top teeth (sick of the grinding already, she just does it alot. I get frustrated because she's only eating porridge, there's no chewing required!) and another one is coming soon. We had a few bad days of not sleeping, but it's all good now. She's taken to blowing raspberries when you stick food in her mouth, it makes one hell of a mess and is incredibly frustrating. Of course, she thinks it's hilarious.
She's sitting like a champion, it's awesome to just plonk her and the floor and know that she can't go anywhere. She just sits there and plays with her toys.
She can get up onto her knees, which is scary to look at. She looks WAY too tiny to be trying to crawl. She's only about 6.5kg.
That's about all that's happening with us. I'll be sure to post some wedding pictures as soon as I can. Wedding is on Sunday afternoon, so it may be Sunday or Monday.
Getting pretty nervous, been having shocking nightmares. DP says I was wimpering most of the night last night. My sister has taken all the photo's of the flowers, rings and all that just so we don't have to worry about it on Sunday.
We've talked about having another baby, but after the m/c a while ago we're going to put it off for a few months, rather than the honeymoon baby we were planning.
I was so friggin clucky last night. I was going through and sorting all Hannah's clothes and dividing up the 0000, 00000 and premmie clothes. Looking at these mega-tiny 00000 clothes and remembering how massive they were on her. She's nearly into a 00 now, but her hips are still tiny, so she still needs to 000 pants. Which are too short because she's got such long legs.
Anyway, better go get ready to go to town to see the celebrant.
Hello lovely ladies :)
Hey Audax! Good to hear from you and so glad you guys are well.
Georgi, Mum has issues with my sister's relationship with her kids in any case so I don't think it would help speaking to her... and just quietly I think Mum has issues with my parenting too :wall: so it's not a can of worms I'm prepared to bust open... sigh... my husband's enormous family is so much less complicated and angst-ridden than my tiny one!! Sorry to hear you got mastitis again, I hope it has cleared up? Enjoy the sewing machine!
Thanks, EJ, Millie's eyes are fine now. Awesome that Harper had such a long sleep overnight! Hope you got to sleep as well...
Crumpet, ouch, poor Summah :(
MadB, how's Ms tooth? It is reassuring that kids go through phases, isn't it... awesome that M is happy to sit and watch A.
Charlotte, I'm so excited for you for your wedding! I hope it is a beautiful day... don't be nervous, just try to sit back and enjoy because it goes so fast! And for heaven's sake don't even think about posting photos ON the day... can't wait to see them though.
I had a really full-on day at work today. Felt like everything was just being thrown at me at once and had to reeeeeally breathe deep to keep it together. I seem to go one week on, one week off in terms of how I cope. On the bright side it's week 9, so only this week and next before holidays.
Hope you're all well!
xox
oh how exciting! I love weddings! :leap:
I hope it all goes beautifully for you Charlotte! Have a ball and don't worry about the photos till later - I'd love to see them too.
:happydance: week 9 already! perhaps bigger families have an easier time appreciating diversity...?
Hope you're resting up and feeling better Georgi! I'm glad you had a good time on your little weekend away. It is strange meeting people like that, isn't it? It's like you're looking at a stranger you already know heaps about.
M actually slept last night! I'm not sure, as I didn't check the time or anything, but she must have slept at least 4-5 hours at the start of the night. Then another stretch, then a few wakeups close together in the early hours till she was up at 7, but all in all a really good night for her! Unfortunately she never lets me know in advance, so I didn't get to bed till 10pm (which is late for me!) and I 'wasted' half the sleeping time.
Have spent more money on book depository getting more richard scarry books for DS. He loves them so much! Hopeing some new ones will keep him occupied on the plane. I think I"ll make DH in charge of actually reading them though.
CHARLOTTE - Ooooooh, how exciting. Have a wonderful day on Saturday (how can you not right?)
PP -Thanks, the mastitis did clear up quickly, phew. Yeah my DH's family is so much less complicated than mine. They are so much easier to deal with lol. Yay holidays soon. Not long
MADB - Funny enough they didn't look like strangers as with FB we were always uploading pics and of course I stalked all their photos too so even knew what their hubby's looked liked lol. Yay for sleeping! I hate it when you get to bed late. I went to bed late last night too cause I was watching Packed to the Rafters. But I am very fortunate that DH got up to Byron at 6am so I got to sleep in till Eden woke at 7am
Thankfully my mastitis didn't get any worse & is feeling much better today. I just wish this flu would take a hike. I have booked me & the kids into the doctors at 2.30 today. Im hoping antibiotics will help. Two weeks is just too long.
Eden was doing my head in yesterday. He just whinged all day. He didn't want to be picked up, he didn't want to be put down, grrrrr. I hope he was just having an off day & pray that it doesn't continue today. I'd love to blame teething but I can't see any teeth coming. He's had these 4 teeth for 3 months now. Wondering when the next ones will appear. Surely he's due for some?
Hi all
Miri had her (belated) 8-month check up today. All looking good. She's slimmed down a bit ;), but.... her head circumference is off the scale. That's what you get for marrying into a family of big heads I guess. (her HC is the average for a 2 year old girl, according to the scales)
Hey girls!
EJ - Thanks for asking about DH. His allergy testing was.....interesting. He had a reaction to the things like prawns, lobster etc and also to peanuts. The weird thing is, he'd had prawns with his lunch BEFORE we went to his appointment and had no problem. The doctor is absolutely stumped. He said occasionally he sees a case where he just can't pinpoint so he has to just continue carrying his epi-pen and phenergen (sp?) and if he has another reaction he has to call him for another appointment. It's scary but hopefully he doesn't have another reaction. Thanks for the book suggestion too, I went to the bookstore but it's out of print! So I have to do some digging to see if I can find a copy, sounds like something even I'd like to read. Hope you and the kids are well. BIG  for what I read on FB. You have us here should you need anything. xox Oh and I'm another Moogoo lover!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Again big  for your nephew....sounds like you're doing a great job keeping the memories of him alive, that's just lovely.
PP - Gosh, what a full on weekend. Sorry nothing went to plan  how frustrating. Hope Millie is better, poor little chicken. There is so much going around, I can't wait to hear that all our bubs are back healthy again at the same time :) Great news on the sewing time though!! I'm so jealous of all you crafty types...I wish I had it in me! I hope your next two weeks stay relatively uneventful and the holidays come around fast!
Audax - Glad the sickness has passed! Hope it stays that way now!
Crumpet - Hope Summah's rash has cleared up? Poor little thing, that sounds painful.
MadB - Go Miri with the bum shuffling!! I hope that second top tooth has come through, they take their time don't they. That's so sweet that she loves to watch her big brother! I was the same with my big brothers (twins). That's great news she's had a few nights of sleep, I hope this is a sign of things to come, you sure do deserve some rest lovely lady! If it all works out, please send her over here to have a word with Jacob (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz). :) Great news on Miri's check up, on the HC. She looks perfect to me!!
Georgi - Glad you had a nice time in Melbourne. I'm glad your mastitis didn't turn out any worse, that'd be just what you need (NOT!). Try take it easy and recover fully soon! Fingers crossed that whatever is bothering Eden it passes soon. I love the latest video of him, what a cutie pie!! I love how his face lit up awww :)
Char - don't be nervous chick, the wedding will be perfect. Try to relax and enjoy it, cause it will just fly... I'm so excited for you!! Get photos up when you get a chance but don't hurry, we can wait till you come down from cloud nine! Hannah sounds like she's doing so well, won't be long before she'll be crawling everywhere...she's such a determined clever little girl!
I have to get to bed but will come back to update on us tomorrow. Hope everyone is well xox
Must go to bed because its late but just letting you know i will be keeping facebook for you guys under another user name xo
That's great EJ! I'm glad, I was wondering how we would be able to continue to see Harper Barper grow!! Still think whoever this person is should be ashamed. Nice to hear you're staying with us xox
What's happened EJ? With FB I mean. I missed something
MADB - Wowzer! What a huge head! Must have big brains in there
JULES - So funny isn't it. He got all excited when I said bye te he he
Logged on to FB to give you a hug, EJ, and you were gone and I felt sad.
I'm so sorry about your nephew. It's not fair to lose a child. I watched my sister go through losing my niece at 20 weeks.
I watch parents on the Gastroschisis Support page go through loss quite a bit.
Jules -- That's so weird about your DH's allergy testing. I was thinking about it the other day and forgot to ask....
I've been trying to teach Hannah to say Mum. It's not working at all. I go "mum mum" and she says "da da dada". SO I go "mamama" And get a raspberry and "dadada" back. Funny little ferret, she is. It's like she knows what I'm trying to get her to say, so she says the opposite.
Wedding plans are full steam ahead. FIL and his partner and DP's grandparents are turning up tomorrow afternoon. The grandparents haven't met Hannah yet as they live south of Adelaide and Adelaide is 5 hours. Then the rest of the guests are turning up Saturday afternoon. Wedding Sunday at 2pm!
I'm exhausted. Got a house to clean so what did I do? Pull down a perfectly good blind and put up a venetian blind in the toilet. Took 3 BLOODY HOURS and I can hardly feel my arms, but it looks fabulous! I'm thinking the spare room and bathroom will have to wait for a while, til I get some engery back.
DP is off mowing the lawn and stuff.
Talk soon!
So much going on Charlotte!!!! It's all coming together now, i remember back when you mentioned your wedding being in septemeber and thinking to myself "oh yes that's still a fair way away...." and now it's here!!! Better get my facebook for BB sorted so i can see photos. It really doesn't seem fair the the first word most bubs say is dadada, all mine did but Harper is also saying mum mum now so that's pretty exciting :) Have a wonderful day on Sunday, i hope it's all you and your DP dreamed of xox Thanks for the hugs. No one should have to go through the loss of a child.
Jules I'm happy to hear the testing has been done and you have some answers but on the other hand sounds like you still need to be really careful. I still have my fingers crossed for you guys that you never need to use that epi-pen. Jules if that book is out of print and you have trouble getting a copy i'd more than happy to post you mine. It's so worth the read, if you were happy to read it and send in back (take your time by all means) i'd love to do it for you.
Crumpet how's DD going? Is she still making change time really tricky? I hope her bott doesn't get too sore. Exact same happers here if i'm sick, DH is no extra help at all.
Yay for Miri discovering some way of moving around!! A whole new world will become available to her now. That sleep sounded fantastic, a bit like the one Harper had the other night. Did it last for you???? It didn't for me :D So the scales say... Miri is perfect :)
You did a fantastic thing taking on 3 extra kiddies for 10 days Georgi!!!! I'm sure it was greatly appreciated by the girls parents. It is a stange yet really exciting thing to do when you meet online friends, i met some girls from when i was pregnant with Charlie boy and we still chat online now. It's a really special friendship to me, kind of sentimental because of our little ones.
PP i hope you are able to help your sister and your niece in any way that you can. If you can do something all you can do is what feels right in your heart. Maybe your sister has lost sight of a few things temporarily and just needs a gentle push in the right direction? You've almost made it through the Term!!!!! Woo hoo :)
I know there's no real need to apologise for the facebook thing but it's not really something you lovely ladies needed to be witness to. But thank you so much for your support. Without going too much into the details of it all because there is a whole lot to it... i would never do something like that lightly but the time had come to say enough was enough. It's just a tricky situation because of who it is and the history involved. But anyway deleting this person wasn't enough for me, i completely agree with what MadB said about it being the person and not facebook but for me it was what i needed to do. When i get a chance i'm going to open up a new account which will be for my BB friends (and probably under EJ), the only BB girls i'm friends with are your guys and the girls from my BB group with Charlie boy. I'm completely fine and feel really happy with my decision :)
So i need to head to bed, Harper fed every couple of hours last night for some reason and was up at 6:30pm. The boys had a sleepover at their cousins but had a really late night and this afternoon/tonight was like walking on eggshells with them just to try and keep the peace.
Hope everyone is well xox
Glad you've figured out a way that works for you EJ. I think FB is really only useful for keeping in touch with people you don't see very often (or at all in the case of online friends)
Nope. not repeated :) The 2nd top tooth is making her miserable. I've even put some nasty bonjela on it a few times  She was not impressed, but I really think it helped her last night.
Miri is the same. A few times she's said Maaaaam. And I say, yes, that's me, mum! And she smiles and says Da-Da!
Wow, busy busy Charlotte! Hope your feet are warming nicely ;)
What was the book (sorry, not paying attention)? The BB online store is closing with 20% discount on everything, did you check in there?
And yep, I'm going with teh big brain theory :)
Jules just noticed that the book is for sale in the BB online book store. It's reduced also becasue they are closing. It says it's in stock!! It's where i got mine from :)
ETA: Snap MadB :)
ETA again.... As of tonight (i wonder if there are papers i'm meant to sign????) i can kind of say i'm officially unemployed. I have had an 'ongoing' position so have been lucky enough to go on leave and have my job held for me for the past 4 years (only working part time inbetween having Aidan and Charlie). And today my 'boss' called to say he can't for the sake of the place of employment continue to hold my position for me. I had kind of prepared myself to hear this and i'm more than ok with it because i know where i need to be right now. He did say if and when the time comes he would have me back though. So for the first time in... 15 years i'm unemployed!!! It's sad because i loved that job but the last few months i have acutally been thinking about going back to school to learn and challenge myself so was wondering whether or not i'd choose to go back anyway. I'm a bit excited about what may lie ahead :)
 great minds
EJ - I miss my nieces like crazy so I was stoked to be able to spend 10 whole days with them. My sister of course said she would return the favour, but I really don't know if I would leave my kids with her for more than a couple of days. Her girls are beautiful, extremely well behaved, but not from her parenting that's for sure. Let's just say my sister is very relaxed. My kids would probably end up eating chocolate cake for breakfast lol
MADB - Poor Miri. So she only has one tooth with one on the way?
CHARLOTTE - Only two more sleeps!
I am just loving the way Eden is so interactive now. Clapping & waving. He also copies you when you shake your head no or nodd yes. Such a cutie....
The antibiotics seem to have started to work. Yay, we're on the mend!
