PP you can feel it under the gum - it's pretty obvious compared to the surrounding gums. Sometimes they have white dots but no teeth right there.

i hadnt thought of that.....
 go miri!!
 not again! we havnt had a runny nose here for ages!
but thanks for the heads up ill keep a eye on her!
hope ur having a great time!
AFU: still plodding along with my off child.....
managed to get some avocado and banana into her for lunch, will see what happens with dinner.
im starting to think she might not like lumps in her food which isnt great but oh well will just roll with it for a bit longer i think
Hannah hates lumps. She prefers the custards and yogurt-y ones.
No teeth yet. Gah!! I'm over it. Its right there! I can feel it under the surface!
She went well with her needles, MCHN is always impressed at how Hannah barely cries for her needles. She does one big shout and thats about it. MCHN thinks its because premmies are usually tough.
Physio was next (travelled an hour and a half) and Hannah doesn't really like the physio. Hannah just stares at her with her bottom lip sticking out, with a single tear rolling down her cheek. Its enough to make anyone cry. lol. DP and I just laugh at her when she cries. We can't help it.
Physio only went for about 20 minutes because Hannah was just so out of sorts from the injections. Apart from that she's been a good girl. Ran into a mate in the plaza who had a baby last week and got to have a good 'coo' over the baby. He's completely gorgeous, little Harvey. He looks sooo tiny!! Even tho he's the same size Hannah was at 3 months old. I can't believe it. No wonder people though Hannah was so small!!
Waiting for some furniture to turn up. Was meant to come on Friday so I rang up and abused them on Monday and now its meant to come today. Not impressed. At All.
PP -- Can't wait to see your holiday pictures!! I really want to go over there!
Hi all!
Thanks MadB, we'll just see what happens. Apart from the train disaster and her apparent distaste for showers (any tips? Cathie I know you shower your babies?) she hasn't been noticeably out of sorts.
Charlotte and Crumpet, Millie is only just getting used to lumpier foods. She likes her new muesli for breakfast, which is a bit lumpy, and I found a gluten and dairy free tub of mediterranian veges. I have to say I would happily eat it over pasta, it's yummy :) Bananas are cheap here so I finally tried her with one - she wasn't mad on it. I wasn't able to do any BLS at DH's uncle's place - he loves Millie but he was very tense when she was eating. Being out all day here we try to keep her fairly clean but she gets a few things to chew on. The brand of AR formula available here smells foul, but she's drinking it okay.
Oh and Charlotte - there's two bubs in my MG who are on the small side - both full term etc but just little - and their mums refer to them as our "fun size babies" :) so if anyone goes on at you about Hannah's size again you could just brush 'em off with that :)
DH has put up some holiday snaps, I have shared the album on my profile so I hope you guys can see it!
Take care all :)

Hey girls,
It's been a few days since I posted and everyone has been busy. I'll do my best to catch up
EJ - All this talk about biting is making me nervous!!! I hope Jacob doesn't realise he's capable of it for a while yet!! I'm happy to hear Harper is back to her self, but sorry to hear things are going backward for you :( How are you feeling now? I was going to suggest the moogoo cream too, I used it when I got the nipple thrush from Jacob, it was so nice and really helped. Didn't affect Jacob at all.
MadB - Gosh, that sleep is really rough....you're awesome. I'm tired just reading it! I will never complain about my nights again. Any more three hour stretches??
Kaz - Hehe to slurpy kisses....don't you just love all the dribble
Cathie - Glad to hear all is well. DH works as a Diesel Fitter in an underground coal mine. He does a afternoon/night shift roster. The nights aren't too bad but the afternoon shifts are tough, we only see him about an hour a day. For up to five days at a time. (the roster really isn't family friendly).
Charlotte - Has that cheeky tooth come up yet?? Sounds like Hannah handled her busy day really well, all things considered!! Did your furniture show up yesterday?
Crumpet - How's Summah doing? I hope she's back on track for you, I'd be keeping an eye on that she's feeling ok too cause Jacob was exactly the same...he got SO grumpy and moody and now he has a cold :( Things aren't fun here at the moment...
PP - Sounds like you're having a great time! Look forward to checking out those photos when I get a spare minute. We shower Jacob as well. If we shower him in a shower that has higher pressure than ours we put a washer on his back so it doesn't irritate him...it helps with Jacob anyway. Or we just let the water wash down us and onto him, rather than him getting the full pressure himself. Can't think of anything else right now, he did take a few go's to get the hang of it, now he loves it!
Just a quick update from us, I gotta head off.... Jacob has a cold, I've taken him to the doctor but it's just a cold, the poor little fella is having trouble breathing through his nose and is really clingy at the moment, he just wants the security of having me close by...which is really time consuming. His sleeping is off too but I'm just going with whatever he needs to feel secure and everything else is on the backburner. He's sleeping in bed with me at night and I have the humidifier going, and euki bear is our new best friend... hopefully we'll see the end of it soon.
Hope everyone else is well, so sorry if I missed anyone or anything...xo
Jules -- Furniture arrived, but Tooth hasn't! But she hasn't had any panadol or bonjela for a few days so its all good. She loves bonjela a little too much. I was giving her just a little bit at bedtime when her gum was massively swollen, and she got to the point where she'd start laughing hysterically and opening her mouth as soon as she saw the tube. Hmm.... Little bit freaky.
Hope Jacob feels better soon, I bought a snot sucker the other day for when Hannah gets sick again (because we all know she will). I hate snot. It makes me gag. Euki bear is awesome.
PP - I'll try saying that!! She is fun sized!! She's such an angel these last couple days, constantly smiling and laughing. She's started reaching for stuff now!! She has a really scared look on her face as she tries to do it.. Its so cute. But she's getting the hang of it, constantly trying to reach for stuff. I saw your pictures on FB, soooo jealous. It looks like Miss Millie is asleep in the pram in one of those pics. Oh, and loooove the picture of you and Millie in the marionette museum. I lol'd. :D
Hi ladies
No time for personals the boys just don't stop fighting!!!!!! I'm so over it, it's times like these that are so difficult, you're trying so hard to be a good parent, set a good example and handle things well when all you want to do is yell and scream and/or walk out he door. Give me strength!!!!!! :wall:
Harper is ok, sleeping well this morning which is great. I'm off to the dermatologist tomorrow. About to start another lot of antibiotics but the bb area still isn't 100%.
Talk soon ladies :)
Charlotte - That tooth sounds like it's giving poor Miss Hannah the horrors...I hope it comes through soon! Bonjela is awesome, it really helped, and strangely enough Jacob was doing the same thing, and I was only using it once a day every couple of days, he'd giggle when I was rubbing it onto his gums  little weirdos. I tried not to use it too much, only when it was clear that he was really uncomfortable and it was obviously his teeth. Hope you're enjoying your new furniture! I agree with fun sized... :)
EJ - big ....I hope things have improved at your place today and the boys are getting along for you. Good luck for your appointment tomorrow, I really hope they can shed some more light. Let us know how you go.
:hello: to every one else! :)
I only used bonjella a couple of times - DS loved it too, scary for sure! It's got that carcenogenic (sp?) artificial sweetner in it too. Guess they like aniseed flavour.
Teeth are tricky little buggers Charlotte! They take soooo long.
How'd you go EJ? Hope the boys are being better behaved!
Hope the little fella is doing better soon Jules
I was never ablet o shower DS and he still hates it. so we failed that one. haven't done it with DD yet, so probably failed that one too
Well, nights are marginally better on the whole, day time she's back to cat naps. Still prefers paper to actual food. She did have a litttle EBM from a sippy cup yesterday. I *think* she swallowed soem of it (most got spat out)
As I write this, Will is rolling around on the ground, chewing various junk mail!!!!!
Charlotte - hope that tooth comes through soon, it's so annoying for you when they are in pain and you can't help :( I got Will a "sophie the giraffe" and it's made of natural rubber, and is actually aniseed smelling!! He just munches on it so much, we've used panadol twice for the teeth next to his lower front so far, just at night time to get him to sleep.
PP - same here with Will & Pip, we'd either put the water into a cup and pour over them, or change the water spray to "rainfall" on ours.
Yeah, those slurpy kisses are great!!!!
EJ - I don't know how you're doing it, I'm struggling with just the 2!!!!!!
Bit scary today - Will rolled around and got my work computer power cord wrapped around his neck a couple of times. He's just so mobile! And LOVES, really :heartbeat: remote controls.
Well it's been six months, and it looks like our :bfeedblue: journey is coming to an end. He is getting very lazy with the bottle, and I'm now feeding him once a day, but he's not sucking well and ends up biting more than sucking. DH doesn't want to change from the 6mth+ teats so looks like this is it. But we'll see.
Ah Kaz, You've done so bloody well! How do you feel about it? You never know with these little ones though. Why can't you change teats if you want to?
I've heard of those sophie things... didn't know about the aniseed thing though. maybe I'll get one :)
Hullo all!
Had a better train ride today, Salzburg to Munich - Millie realised she could sit properly on her own and looked soooo proud of herself, swaying with the movement of the carriage as well :) She's been getting there gradually but today it just clicked. Also she's started scooting backwards!
Jules, hope Jacob gets better soon!
Charlotte, hooray for new furniture :)
EJ, fingers crossed for the derm appointment.
MadB, Millie has discovered paper in a big way... the hotel in Salzburg had paper placemats in the breakfast room which made great crinkly noises :)
Kaz, 6 months is amazing. I'm completely in awe of you and hope to do as well next time!
Hi to all, thinking of everyone!
xox
MadB - they are really great toys! I didn't understand what all the fuss was about until a saleslady opened a packet for me and I had a sniff. They really are great toys - since getting it, Will hasn't used his dummy. And they are so easy to clean.
PP - awww that's so cute sitting up, is she on your lap or the chair? I can get Will to sit up on my lap if I have my leg crossed behind him to make a nice spot for his butt. Yay on a better train ride!!!!!
MadB - DH claims Will was falling asleep and not finishing his bottle on the NB teat - I bought some variable ones which they have to work with, might sneak them into the bottles ... Seeing as how DH is the primary carer, I feel like I have to respect his wishes on this. Today though I found a lump just under the skin, it's the size of a dehydrated pea and the skin near it is really sensitive, not sure whether to be worried or not? Looking at more houses today. Kill me now.
lumps seem to be a hit here......
she is quite fussy with what she eats and how she eats it atm
she is great thanks hun!
got over her attitude and stubborness thank god!
thankfully it wasnt the start of anything just her attitude problem shining through
hows jacob?? hope he is feeling better!
summah has just taken a intrest in junk mail today, the big w toy catalogue of all things!
we have a sophie the giraffe and i would say its summahs favourite toy!
she gnaws on it allthe time, grins as soon as she see's sophie coming! poor sophie had a bath a few weeks ago becasue everytime we tried to take it off her she screamed and the squeeker hasnt been the same since
AFU:
all is going well here.
summah is happy and under control all over again thankfully!
we are having fun with food, she isnt overly keen on puree anymore, but quite likes chunky things....
chews on chunks of banana and apple nicely, has a bit of trouble with gripping it so i have to help her, and vegemite toast is a big hit! she has that well sorted out, its awesome we sit up at the table every morning and have toast together.
im going to give her some pasta spirals with a little bit of a tomato sauce for her to try this week....
i want to move towards BLS but im not sure how to make the move properly?
Go Millie!
That's really full on Kaz! You must be knackered. Lump does not sound good - might be a blocked duct. I used to get lumps like that with DS on the left sie (he didn't like that side, Miri doesn't seem to have a preference). Best to ty and work it out if you can - express or feed.
BLS basically just means letting your baby take the lead Crumpet, so you just let her do her thing.
The kids are snotty again. Yay for us.
What a lovely day here!!! lol.
I'm hungover to the max. Went out of a few drinks and a mate shouted me a quite a few.... I can't say no to him!! Good thing we live only a block from the pub.. I can see it from our house.
Hannah has spent half the day screaming. Her gum is unbelievably swollen. Never seen it like this before!! Its like there's half a pea in here. Hopefully its a good sign that the tooth will be through soon.
Kaz - I got a blocked duct not long after my milk came in. It hurt like hell every time I bumped it. If you're expressing, try gentle massage while expressing. Thats what helped me. And looking at houses is fun...NOT!! Been there, looking at another one on Tuesday. I want that house sooo badly.
Hannah's complaining. She's such a foghorn these last 2 days! Its like she's discovered her voice. She's normally chatty, but she's just so friggin loud now!!! I woke up this morning (with my mother-of-all-hangovers) to Hannah bellowing in the lounge room with DP.
She just yells for the sake of it.
Gah, better go.
Miri loves yelling too!
I've never seen a tooth swell up like that. Can you see the tooth?
That's right, food is fun. Up till 12-ish months and definitely at this age, milk is much more important nutritionally. It's better to go slow and let them go at their pace to avoid replacing too much milk with solids. When they're young, they get less out of food. IF you let her decide what and how much she eats, she'll do fine.
