Hi girls!!
Meg - Sleep school sounds like a good idea for you and E. I'm sorry she's still not sleeping better but hopefully it will improve after school! I've heard good things about those programs. J tends to feed two hourly of an afternoon - just when I want to catch some zzzz!!
Shell - I hope you go out for dinner soon with your DH! Get him to take you for mothers day.
Nai - You do so much exercise girl you must be heaps fit!! whoohoo on Js sleep recently.
Laura - I hope B doesn't have any more fits darl. I have a friend whose son had a few fits when he was a couple of months old - it wasn't epilepsy either and apparently although they're scary, they don't usually cause any long term harm (that we can tell). Her son is fine now and I hope B has had the same thing and will be fine too. No one hates you for not doing personals either mate! I saw your other thread and you've got a lot going on atm. Take care of you.
SJ - No one at the hossy told me anything about post-surgery care except the standard "no driving, lifting, bending, carrying, reaching up or twisting for 6 weeks!" I've got a post-natal physio booklet from a major hossy that a friend gave me and we should have been doing pelvic floor, abdominal tummy tucking, pelvic tilt, back and neck exercises since about 24 hours after delivery :o Yeah right!! I do pelvic and tummy tucking when I remember!! It sucks when they're unsettled in the car. Grace won't remember at all I promise!! J is variable, sometimes he sleeps and then other times he cries randomly. The other day he cried during this one town on both the trip there and the return. Weird.
Ali - I was wondering yesterday how your dogs were going! Our dog is ok but only because DP has been putting the time into walking her sometimes etc but he is not a shift worker like your DP. Don't feel too bad about them - I'm sure they'll adjust and you'll be able to do more with them when A is a bit older. Well done on helping the farts out too!! I have nicknamed DP the "fart whisperer" because he's great at helping J with his wind.
mhami - for feeding in the ergo and walking at the same time!!
AFM- I got out and about again today. Have to make the most of the good weather while it lasts. Gets cold here after ANZAC day every year without fail and we've had the fire on a fair bit in the last week!
I joined WW today. Going to shift this pg weight and then some!! Need to be accountable to someone, otherwise I'll always put it off until "tomorrow". Figured there's no point spending money on new clothes - might as well spend it on losing weight to fit back into all my old ones.

:hello: sorry I've been AWOL.. still will be AWOL for a while.
Kaz - ur post about midnight snacks - I'd say go for it.. as long as you go for something healthy, like a banana.
I crave carbs when I'm really tired - biscuits are my weakness.. but keep your metabolism up wiht something healthy and you'd be right!!
Sorry for no personals.. rushing in here to say hi..
Laura - sorry to see that things haven't been good for you.. garantee that things will be all ok when ur in hospital and all haywire when ur not in hopsital!
Take care girls
xxoo
Will hopefully get back soon.. everything is ok.. DH has got a job adn I'm trying to do 1001 things at hte mo... DS isn't napping durin gthe day so I am lucky to get 20minutes to myself..men hey? think its starting young!! Have started reading books - novels again, so I'm hooked really badly (have been trying to stear clear of fiction books because I LOVE Them to pieces)

Just a pop in here too, Em been really unsettled, lots screaming and crying and won't even take dummy so she obviously upset about something! I keep wondering am I making enough milk cause she only put 140g on over 12 days at last weigh in and she's been draining both sides at feeds. I offered her formula top up after tonights feed cause she was upset and had emptied my boobs but wouldn't take it so who knows! :dunno:
She in bassinet now, quiet but not asleep, I'm ready to sleep after last night.
Oops there she is, spoke too soon!

Laura - never feel bad about posting and not doing personals. I hope Bella is ok.
Kaz - good on you for joining WW. I have gone 3 days without chocolate - I wonder if it has made a difference.... maybe I should join too.
Tarkine - good to hear from you. I am trying to get some reading done too but not much is happening. I am 14 pages into my book club book - and book club is on Wednesday!!!
SJ - the physio said I could do abdominal exercises after 6 weeks but I don't have much seperation and also to do pelvic floor and core strength exercises.
Meg - hope you had a good day!
Mhami - we aren't too far away, we're in Kensington so close to the CBD too.
Ali - our dog adjusted to reduced walks - he's now really grateful when he gets to go. I feel sorry for him as sometimes I don't get to even feed him until mid-morning as I am so busy.
Shell - has E grown in length? Sometimes they don't put on much weight but grow in length instead.
AFM - the washing machine got fixed today - YAAAAYYY!!! Now to catch up on the washing eeeek! Miss J didn't sleep much today but was a good girl and happy when awake. We had her granuloma seen to again today and they used liquid nitrogen to burn it off. She didn't even flinch. I hurt my back even more yesterday so am on the waiting list to see the physio. It is ok during the day but is quite painful at night so I am having trouble sleeping and have to take painkillers which I don't like doing.

Laura - don't feel guilty about your posts. You have a lot on.
tarkine - Hi!!
Mhami - I posted something to you in the other tread.
Nai - At least she was happy when awake.
kaz - great that you joined WW. I have been going to the gym. Gotta lose this belly, especially as I have a high school reunion at the end of May. Don't want everyone to say "ohh, she has stacked on the weight."
Shell - They would ahve said something to you if they don;t think she has put on enought weight. I am sue that everything is fine. I hope she is better for you tonight. i agree. A mothers day dinner sounds like a good idea. in fact, I am going to suggest to Dh that we do the same and get SIL and MIL to come over to have the kids for a bit.
Det - Enjoy your weekend away. I hoe your Nan is thrilled to see you.
Ali - I hpe that you get a better night tonight.
Holly - I am glad that MIL stays once a week to give you a break. Esp as you would basically be doing the shocking nights on your own as DP works.
SJ - Of course your DD forgives you! She won't even remember. You can't help her crying in the car. Especially if you need to go somewhere. As cruel as it sometimes seems, I let DD cry in the car, as I can't really stop and console her while driving. In saying that, she hasn't really ever got really hysterical. Just protest crying. She will get used to it.
Miss E hada 2 hour sleep this morning. Woo hoo for us! Then we went into the city and had a great time. She got a little cranky at one stage, but for the most part was really good. Then I caught the train home with both kids by myself at peak hour. Crazy I know. E was crying a little. Not too loud though, and a woman kept giving me dirty looks, so I turned to her and said "well you are just going to have to put up with it. I can't force her to be quiet!!" That and J was jumping around, over tired, but still well behaved. It was pouring when I got off, and I had to run home to keep us as dry as possible. E was all covered in, but J got a little wet. we only live about 200 metres from the station though. Bathed both kids together, and had J in bed by 7, and E by 8:30. I think I am in for a rough night though, as she hasn't fed too well all day, so will prob want to make up for it in the night. DH probably won't get home till the last train tonight as he has gone to the footy.
My sister bought me something called a milk band that you wear on your wrist. Been using it for about a week now. I really liek it as itmeans you know what time you last fed, and what side. I was hopeless at remembering which side I started on at the last feed. She said it was about $5. They look lie those bands that chariities sell. Flat rubber material.
-
Shell - hope Em is having a better day today!
Nai - hmmm yes, I stopped buying chocolate last week. Was just eating and EATING it all the time. Once you've gone a few days, you won't really miss it! Hope your back improves soon - that sucks!
Meg - I've got one of those milk bands too. They're great but you have to remember to re-set them after each feed, otherwise you'll get confused like I do! lol  Good on you for saying something to that lady on the train. I hope I have the guts to do that when my turn comes.
Det - Enjoy your trip north! Hope the weather is great.
-
:hello::nahnah::wiggle: im still here!! just been super busy! will get in here tomorrow!
-
Well I have booked Miss J into the creche at the gym for an hour twice a week so I HAVE to go now!! I made sure I got days when my friend is working there which makes me more comfortable.
A small woohoo - Miss J put herself to sleep in her bassinette twice today!! Yep - she self settled. She was sucking her thumb within an inch of its life but she did it. I am so proud of her :D

Hi girls, just a quick one from me, I am so cranky with DP!!!! HE is being a selfish twat this weekend!
He bought this bike that he is doing up so this morning he goes out to get some parts for it then we were supposed to go watch him play this special cricket match today (a family day where all the other families were going). I had DD and myslef all ready and because he was late coming back from getting the bike parts , he was in such a rush to get to cricket which was 40minutes away and I said that I wont get in the car with him and put DD in if he was going to speed, so he says well I am going to speed so we didnt go. THen he comes home and I think finally we will have some time together, but NO, he wants to do more work on the bike, so I lose it and I mean lose it at him and he storms out on the bike. I sent him an abusive text msg! Havent heard from him. He can be suck a **** when he wants to be. To top it off, he is working tomorrow 9 til 9 so we wont see him then either.
Geez its like wanting us to spend time as a family is too much to ask! Sorry for the quick vent.
-
nai sophie looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved her thumb!! i remember waking to hear a very strange noise coming through the monitor and i as walked up the hallway to her room i could hear her sucking her thumb :o was sooo loud! she started at 10 weeks
ETA ali hun vent away i would have cracked it too  sounds like he needs a night in the spare room (with george ;) )
-
Holly- Yeah letting her 'cry it out' in the car wouldn't work anyway!! She would just keep screaming!! It was so sad :( Thanks heaps for that info on the vaccines, it's such a hard decision hey! I know she won't be getting all of them, some I just think are really unnecessary, like Hep B for eg. Did your Dr say you could get them separately? Does the pneumoccol one have particularly bad side effects??
Ali- I did have one of those mirrors in the car but the stupid thing broke!! So I couldn't even see her :( Grace likes looking at herself in the mirror too, I stand in front of the mirror when I'm putting her in the HAB to distract her! How's the sleep going? Grace is all over the place, wish she'd get into a pattern!! She'll have a couple of good nights and I'll start to think YAY she's finally worked it out, then she changes and is up all night like last night!! ahh!! OMG poo to your DP!! He needs a kick up the bum!
mhami- Talk about multi-tasking!! I can't feed DD in the Hug-a-bub, she's not at the right hight for mu boob! lol. It would be very handy though!
Kaz- lol, the physio came to see me in hospital the day after the c/s to show me how to do the tummy exercises. She actually made me do them, I felt like slapping her, lol. I did not care about tummy exercises at that point!!!!!!! Good job on joining WW, my mum used to go, she doesn't anymore but she still does it, counts up her points and everything, it sounds like a realistic way to lose weight!
tarkine- nice to hear from you! Hope things slow down soon!
shell- are u drinking lots of water, that effected my supply a lot! But I'm sure you have enough milk. And you know even if she has both sides if she still wants more you can put her back on the first side. Someone told me that, it doesn't just have to be 2 sides, they can have 3, or 4 even! Your BBs will still have milk for her.
det- hope you're having a good time in cairns!!
Nai- thanks for that, I should start trying to tone up I think. Will it ever be the same again?? I never really had a flat flat tummy anyway, but it wasn't so flabby!! Yay for the self-settling, that's awesome!
megie- omg catching the train with 2 kids at peak hour!! I can't imagine. Well done! What a stupid woman on the train!! Glad you said something! lol. I want one of those milk bands!! I just googled it. That would be helpful! I can never remember!
AJP- :hello: I think DD is going to be a thumb sucker, she's sucking her hand all the time now. She's so cute to watch discovering her hands and that she can actually put them in her mouth on purpose! I want her to suck her thumb, pmsl, if it helps her go to sleep on her own!
I'm so tired!!!!!! Not a good night last night, felt like she was up wanting to feed all night. Lucky I have an awesome DH who did all the resettling coz I was too tired. So now he is sleeping. Aww....love him.
