Hi ladies, just thought I'd check in again. How are we all?
PJ: That is AWESOME about Summer crawling :cheer:. Honestly, she sounds right on track. A couple of bubs in my MG didn't start crawling till 11+ months.
Our little ones are fast approaching their first birthday! Who is planning a party? We are having two parties I think - one on Oliver's actual birthday with all the grandparents, then a party on the Sunday as well for friends and mums+bubs from MG. I've made my own invitations and sent a few off already. It's very exciting, and I have a feeling I'll be quite emotional about the whole thing!
We are good here, though I think tooth number 6 is about to make it's appearance. Oliver has been a bit grizzly the last few days, and has been doing lots of hand chomping. Still, he really doesn't get very bad with teething at all.
Hope everyone is well :)
-
Hey ladies,
PJ: So awesome Summer is almost crawling!! You go girl!! I am sure you've also been doing lots of swimming with all th heat we have had
Sterla: I am planning a party and in typical fashion we are ending up with 38adults and 10 children..yes you read well, between 40- 50 people for Sammy's 1st birthday...I know its a bit much, but what can you do!!We are having a sausauge & rissole BBQ with salad and cake, very simple but very much looking forward to it! I am glad Oli is not too bad with his teething, poor possums, you can just see that they are in a bit of pain sometimes. The 2 parties sound good for Oli, I am sure we'll have a mini celebration for Sam on the 9th as her party is on the 7th.
Dansta: Ohh, you must be so excited for your scan of Bundy!! I hope he/she behaves well for you and puts on a show!! Dj sounds like he is just cruising along and crawling like a champ!! Hope your DH's work craziness stops soon and that he gets to be home with you and DJ more and "fingers crossed" he doesn't have to work tomorrow.
Peach: yup Winter and Sammy sound like 2 peas in a pod. Sammy has also recently become obsessed with feeding herself and has taken to putting plates & bowls on her head! LOL So we wait til the bowl & plate are empty before we give them to Sam now...Haha she is quite happy to let me if my choice of meal is not to her liking, she has been pretty good though. I guess she is allowed to not feel like something I am giving her to eat, she just always seems to pick the times that most inopportune! Hope you are feeling better :)
As for us, well, things are still crazy busy, I am starting to wonder if it will ever end! LOL Thanks everyone for your food suggestions, I pretty much give the same but just trying to vary it more often now, I was getting lazy I think.
Update on my little princess, Sammy now has 11 teeth, including 2 molars and one more which is just about cut. so yes 12 teeth, but she has been pretty good, the molars have definately been the worse, I've been going through rusks like they are going out of business. I'd rather she chews on them than the couch or everything else she gets her hands on. Sammy has also starting taking a few steps!! YAY, over the last week, she has made up to 3 steps from one thing to another and has been doing some freestanding since early Jan, she is getting a lot better at it, but is also falling a lot more and has got quite a few bruises & nicks...nothing too serious but a couple good scare that I am now pretified of having her by the TV stand. She has also started to say more words now, she says duck, can do the fishy face when shown a fish, also says "gentle" LOL I guess we say that a lot, she's not the most dainty little girl I am afraid, but her vocab is expanding really quickly, she is also making the "st" sound when shown a star and is trying real hard to say her name too. As I mentioned to Sterla, we are having a HUGE birthday party for her so should be a bal. Not to much else to report I am afraid, we've had a very busy week-end as usual, so am going to go chill and watch my good ol' buddy tv.
Hope everyone has a great Australia Day!!
Mxx

pj: YaY go summer! she'll grow as she wants. DJ is doing a funky little crawl, but its not how they GET there as long as they do ;) she's such a trooper as are you, being a wonderful mummy helping her
Sterla: Ooo Oli is a spoiled one ;) two par-tays for him! good idea though, sadly i couldnt do that as a) the day before another mum from my MG is having her DD 1st birthday (insert scawl here) and the weekend following is another one aaaaaand the weekend after that is my uncles 60th! has the toothie come though yet? i saw on FB you're thinking of getting a teething necklace too? i can send you the link for the one i bought of ebay - skybie gave me the link and said they're really good, she bought one for her youngest DD.
moose: your alive! hehe glad to see sammy is chugging along so well! such a clever little girl she is. and the poor thing on the molars already! i hope they're not too painful for her. and  at the party for her im in the same boat as you!
AFM: been a stressful weekend. long and short of it was i had a blow up with my folks about things that have happend with DJ. the pead appt. we went to not last week the one before we got a letter back DH called the doc thats been given DJ's file and told DH (with no real expolation why) that DJ needs an MRI. which DH and I have put our foot down with becuase it seems a pointless thing to be doing for a child who the only 'mile stone' not yet reached is sitting unaided which honestly i feel is due to his friggin' bad reflux until 8-9months old. would you want to sit if you threw up each time? but he'll sit with his legs crossed happily until he sees a cat then he crawls after the cat! DH is calling the doc back tomorrow for more info as to why an MRI is needed, and honestly unless they say its really friggin' bad it can wait, im not putting DJ though that (for him to have MRI means sedation and/or a gernal anathetic, which im not happy to do, nor is DH along with the idea a strong magnet is going to mess around with the fluid in his body to please a pead who told us "im sure he's a little slow but we'll do some tests to make sure") but other then that we're going well, three teethies all up - with a 4th (plus how meany more :o ) to go. hopefully we'll have a teething necklace by the end of this week for DJ, which i hope will help the poor mite. his chicken pox have almost all gone (still a few scabs) and we've finaly found something he'll drink (water, cows milk, cordial have all be FAILS along with watered down juice) ribina! yep, i had some in a glass today (with lemmonaid) and the little scallywag came up and climb my belly and wanted a drink (the last week i offer him the water im drinking out of a glass) and he took a sip and the look on his face clearly not into bubbles, but when DH made it up with water and put it in his suppy cup he took some!:bluecheer: but not much as the 4th tooth is almost broken though so its a little tender (even with SM33 on it!) but its a brake though, and it was weak as well just enough for him to like it (i drank a fair whack of it before i had him so maybe thats why!) but tomorrow is the u/s to see bundy again which will be nice, even though DH is working (and i was right it'll be last monday (so 7 days strait tomorrow) till friday - he even has to work australia day  but the upside is my sister will be comming with me to the u/s while MIL watches DJ. it'll be nice but strange not having DJ with me as the past 7 days i've had him tied to my hip but at the same time im looking forward to seeing bundy!
i better hop off to bed!
hope every one is having a lovely night!
Ooo and the party for DJ we've got 38 people invited and thats MG and "mums" side of the family. so we're having it at our place (our yard is big enough to have three large (two wags and a old sedan) parked next to each other and a traylor next to them! plus we're borrowing a BBQ off my mum and dad (as well as our own) and an ice box (uber esky lol) and my mum, aunt and MIL are doing salads (they wanted to!) and we've just gotta buy the snags, mince (im making hambugers!) and soft drink. but im looking forward to it all, even though two weeks later we have my uncles 60th (top end of the state!) and then the end of march we have my 21st (which we've got 86 people listed!) so its going to be a crazy, crazy time from here on in (as always )
-
Moose: Hi! You still flat out? You must be exhausted! It feels like you've been flat out for months and months now!
:jawdrop: Wow, 12 teeth!!! (probably more by now!) Oliver only has 6! Sammy must just about be ready to eat some steak or something!
Sammy is so clever with taking steps! She's probably walking by now!
Good luck with Sammy's birthday party - hope everything goes smoothly and Sammy has an awesome time and gets spoilt!
Dansta: How is the amber teething necklace going on DJ? I ordered one for Oliver last week, and am hoping it shows up next week - we've had some shocking days, poor little Oliver :(.
Have you had your u/s yet? I can't believe your halfway there with Bundy already!!!
Hope you're well - sorry to hear about your DH working so much :(.
Peach: How are you and Winter doing? She turns one in... what is it, 5 days!!! :o How are your party plans coming along? What is Winter up to these days?
PJ: How are you and Summer? Hope you're. What day is Summer's birthday?
AFM: We've had some bad days recently with Oliver teething... strange though, I can't see or feel any lumps, but he is so obviously in pain from his teeth. He's been chomping on his fingers so much, and has been so grizzly! Not fun :(. I'm wondering if maybe he just has some teeth moving under the gum, since there's no lumps. It might be his molars, going by where he's been chomping.
Sleep is slowly getting better here. Last night Oliver was only up once. Most nights it is once or twice... nothing like what it used to be! I'm so glad he got through that phase!
Not sure if I have a great deal more to tell you all. Oliver is doing well - learning lots of little things, but no walking yet. He's close, but he's been close for awhile now, lol. I think it's more of a confidence thing. He has taken an odd step or two here and there between furniture, but that's about it.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. I miss talking to you all, but life is busy, isn't it!
-
sterla: the necklace has been really good - only one dose of panadol this week. the second of the top teethies looks like its not too far off. DH is calling DJ "Uni-Fang" lol i hope oli is feeling better though the poor bubba, Dj has been nawing on his fingers too!
AFM: only a week until DJ is one! :o time has gone far, far too fast (the funny part? i'll be 21 weeks UTD with bundy on DJ's first birthday which is half way if you consider that DJ was birthed just shy of 42 weeks lol) and tonight DJ pulled himself up on the couch too! he was almost standing - but the cushion was a little too big for him to get his hand on top of - so he tumbled back down and i admit i giggled at him  but i couldn't help it! i saw it comming and there wasnt anything to do but giggle then cuddle DJ to make him better. but watching him do it was brillaint. DH was watching TV and i walked into the lounge room ready to pop DJ off to sleep (yeah, he's still rocked off but i LOVE doing it!) and i saw him and thought he was crawling out into the hall - as he's started doing laps from the lounge though the kitchen and back into the lounge- but then i realised his head was too high for that and told DH "OMG LOOK LOOK LOOK...L-O-O-K!" and he panicked then picked up the video cam and got the whole thing (yes, inc. me giggleing!) on video. after all the cr@p we've just delt with due to this "development" i dare say that the doctor who wanted to do an MRI will be told (and maybe not so nicely  ) that we will NOT be having tests done as our son is going fine and a single mile stone shouldnt be used as a base as to tell a parent that their child needs an MRI...stupid doctors need to stop being so focused on the text books and get back to each human, we're all different!

Hellooooooooo ladies!!! Much to tell, no time as usual.
Sterla Congratulations on your winning photo it it awesome!!
Great to hear from you Moose, I cant believe how many teeth Sammy has!!!!!

Hello there,
Sorry I have been MIA for like forever! How are we all? OMG they are all growing so much!!!
Master L now has 6 teeth with 2 more cutting through atm, he is a speed crawler and loves to stand at the coffee tables, side tables, beds, couches and anything else that he is able to stand at, He tries to walk while holding on super tight to your hand or pants, He can say mum mum and dad dad, he loves his veggies and is loving being on dairy!
I can't believe our bubbas are 1 or nearly one!!!
(Please don't think I'm bragging because I'm not!)
-
peach: sooo when you getting your avi ;)?? read under your user name teehee!
Sugar: gaww, thats not braging thats mummy pride! go Master L GOOOOO! and yes, its scary our bubbas are almost one!
AFM: scan went well. bundy is like mumma and wont move unless its really needed (can i smell another 'over due' baby?) but it was nice, the guy doing it was really helpful and explained the *whole* thing like all the photos, showed me and expained all the chambers of the heart. and nope, we didnt find out! DJ is almost a non-uni fang the second top toothie is almost down, with one toward the back comming up 0_0 scary stuff. he's climbing over DH and I and around the house- showed his gran how good he is at it too today (IL's watched DJ for us as DH had work :( ) but he's going well, had a play date with his 'bald brother' lol. his play mate is already walking (86 steps in a row!) which is really good, looks soo cute too. Ohh and last night i had a cousin call me - telling me they'd be at DJ's 1st bday n all and asked if it was ok if they told people something and i said "sure, as long as its happy!" and they said "we'll it is. we're UTD :bellyrub: " i started squeaking at this point (they'd be TTC for almost 12 months) and then i hear "tell her the truth" and im like "umm whats the truth??" to that i get "well we thought we where only having one and that *cousins wifes name* was just getting fat or ferther along...but nope we got two for the price of one" me = :O them = Twins! i was soo happy i 'flapped' round for about half an hour, now to hold onto it until sunday! teehee next christmas there'll be three bubbas!
oo bbl!

...or maybe thats what i think 'cus thats all i seem to be doing!! tomorrow is a big clean - FIL is comming to steam clean the carpets, MIL is just "helping" AKA watching DJ lol. DH is mowing the lawn/ wippersnippering the edges. and me? i'll be washing clothes, setting up as much as possable, baking the rest of the cup cakes (need more mix as i burnt one lot enough to make clothes drying on clothes horses smell of it  ) and making hambugers. we have 76snags in the fridge. i have 2.5KG of ham buger mince and 12 lt of soft drink...that enough for 40+ people 0_0? the upside? i dont need to worry about salids, my mum, aunt and MIL are making them mum = pasta salid and cold slaw. my aunt = this really nummy cabbage, wall nut and noodle salid. and MIL just a 'leafy' salid. my nan (whoes 90..almsot lol) is bringing a plate of kabara, celery (??? lol) and cheese. which is nice. Ohh and DH needs to move our old holden into the yard along with FILs trailor. other then that not much is happening. next weekend is another babies birthday - on the sunday and the thursday after that is FIL, then saterday & sunday we're heading away for an uncles 60th...busy busy busy! it'll be good to see the uncle though - we'll see my cousin whos EDD is the day after mine - it'll be interesting to see how her bump looks! i better be off, im getting me some snags we bought for the BBQ for DJ...i got one whiff of them and i want them...BAD lol...

Just wanted to pop in and say Happy Birthday :happybirthday2: to all our bubs - Summer, Winter, DJ (today!!!), Sammy (for Tuesday)! I can't believe our babies are one already! Surely it was only yesterday they were tinsy tiny newborns??? Oliver is one on Saturday - not long now.
I hope you all have had/are going to have fun with your LO on his/her special day. I'm sure I'll be shedding a tear or two as well!

Happy birthday feb. babies! ahh this time last year we where all eather over having a bump, in the midst of pushing one out or dealing with the fact we could infact see our feet, and they had changed a little ;)
DJs birthday went really well - once he woke up on the right side of the cot LOL. we ended up with just under 40 people...and have about 6 months worth of snags left over (heres hoping the freezer is big enough  ) but other then the heat it was good. my cousins told my nan (90) that they're expecting...TWINS! we got it on video for them - so they can show my uncle (cousins dad) the reaction of my nan and plus my mum and dad!i gave my cousin some mat. pants i had but where too big for me - both in the legs AND the belly until the lat week of work LOL, as i wont be needing them again any time soon! DJ got spoiled rotten with toys and clothes and some nice books (his Auntie Floss bought him MR men books..and they're HUGE!) which is good. he'll be the best dressed bubba in town after this. he also got a minni directors chair (i'll up load the photos on fb) which he loves sitting in! which is very cute!
well i better be off - i still have cleaning up todo!
hope every one has a relaxing start to the week and happy birthday this weeks bubbas!!!! :happybirthday:

Hi again ladies
PJ: Sounds like Summer is doing really well! Isn't it amazing how babies just all of a sudden take off!!! I remember Oliver wasn't crawling, then the next minute he was! That's so cute about her saying "where's tigsy", lol. Did you do anything special for Summer's birthday? What is her birth date btw? All that hearing test stuff sounds very stressful, hope you're okay .
Dansta: I'm glad DJ's party went so well. The mini director's chair sounds awesome!
Peach: How are you and Winter? How was her party?
Moose: How are you and Sammy - busy as usual ;).
AFM: We're slowly getting ready for Oliver's birthday party on Sunday. We have 27 people coming (7 of which are 3 or under). I've got most of the food organised, and I'm making a test cake tomorrow. I have a slight suspicion that Oliver is going to spoilt rotten! DH and I have anticipated it though, and not got very much for Oliver. We'll wait till after the party to decide if he needs anything else. If anything, we may end up buying a toy box to put all the new toys in, lol.
Oliver is good - starting to stand up for longer periods of time, and the other day he even took a couple of steps to get from the coffee table to the couch. I'm sure he'll be walking soon enough.
Tonight we gave Oliver his second ever haircut. He had really long hair in front of his ears, and the back was getting long too, so we gave him a bit of a trim. He looks much neater now.
Did anyone else get all emotional/sentimental around their LOs 1st birthday... I'm starting to already... This time last year I would have been anxiously awaiting my 41 week check up the next day. Little did I know that I wouldn't actually leave the hospital again for 5 days, with a newborn baby in tow! I keep saying it, but I honestly can't believe it's been a year already!
I hope everyone is well with their toddlers!
-
Good morning all you yummy mummies :)
How is everyone doing? We had a full on weekend! It was Oliver's birthday on Saturday. We only gave him a couple of little things - a book, a ball, an Igglepiggle plush toy. He only opened a few presents on his actual birthday, as the big party was on Sunday. My family came over after his morning sleep. From them he got lots of clothes (warm things for winter), a hammer toy thing, and as a present for DH and I too - a brand new stroller! I've always hated our big, bulky, second-hand three wheel pram - so now we have a brand new stroller. It's awesome - Oliver and I are going to give it a test run today.
I suppose we didn't do too much else on Oliver's birthday. DH and I spent a lot of the time getting ready for his party.
On Sunday DH and I were running around like crazy people trying to get ready for the party at 11am. Luckily, Oliver was very, very helpful by having his morning sleep at exactly the right time. He went down at 9.30am and woke up at 10.45am - with just enough time to wake up before everyone arrived.
Guests started arriving, and our house got very full very quickly! I tell you, I don't think I'm going to have a party that big at my house again - it's just all too stressful! I was worried about how Oliver would go with all the people there, but he was really good. He opened all his presents... got lots of clothes (I don't think we'll need to buy any clothes this winter!), lots of books, a Thomas and Friends tent, a ride on excavator/digger thing (complete with yellow hard hat), a DVD, a Little People SUV, a few random toy cars. He actually didn't get quite as spoilt as I thought he would - well, mainly because he got so many clothes, haha.
When we brought the cake out and sang Happy Birthday, Oliver cried... haha, he's like that though. Doesn't like the loud noise I think.
During the party Oliver stood by himself for ages. He'd done it here and there, but that was the longest he'd ever done it. He did that a couple more times during the party. By 3pm almost everyone had left, we just had a couple of friends left. Oliver was standing holding onto a guy friend of ours who was sitting on the couch. I was sitting at the other couch... then, all of a sudden, completely out of the blue, Oliver took 5 steps!!! I was just staring at him in shock :o. And of course, DH missed it cause he had his back turned. After that we got Oliver to walk between us, and he would! So, not just a one off.
Oliver then went down for a sleep, and when he woke up - still walking - getting up to 8 or 9 steps. We called my parents and they came to see it for themselves. Then, later again after tea but before his bath, he took 16 steps in a row. Then he took 28 steps in a row!!! I still can't believe how quickly it all happened! I'm in shock, and so proud I could burst. I had no idea it could happen so quickly. But I suppose he was the same when he started crawling - he wasn't crawling one moment, the next he was.
So, yesterday was a BIG day for us :D.
I hope everyone else is doing well! I want to hear all about the birthdays and birthday parties :).
-
:bump:

Sorry 'bout that, Ive been having a bit of trouble getting Winter to go to sleep in her pram... Im almost on the verge of starting a thread on it. She wont feed to sleep and right now she is screaming in her pram doing my head in. I just think WHAT THE HELL she is a year old dammit surely she should be over crying to sleep by now ARGH seriously Im so over it AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH Im sorry to vent. Just gentle parenting which I advocate surely it should work by now? HEEEEEEELPPP!!! What can I do?
Glad to hear all the Babies so far had a good bday :)
Sterla what cake did you end up making? Sorry if you have already mentioned but Ive just quickly read all the posts... Do you like all the clothes Oli got?
PJ- That is fantasic about Summer talking and cruising around! How does your cat go with her around? Winter crawls up and nudges our cat Gordon and has started kissing him! She says 'Gor" so cute! How was Summers Bday?
Dansta- Love your new avvy! Im not sure how it works with me getting one, do I have to ask? Or does it magically pop up? Either way Im stoked! OMG thats a huge party you had and a whole lotta food! Are you still eating leftovers?? Thts great Daz had a good day, and how exciting your cousin having TWINS!
Well well, in the time it took me to type that Winter is fast asleep in her pram.... Sheesh.
Moose-I cant believe how grown up Sammy sounds! How was her party? I cant wait to read your very long post(hopefully :))
Well Im sick again which is so crap, I dont know what the go is Im usually so healthy and Ive been sick heaps this past year. Last thurs we went to a play center with MG and there were a couple of kids who were snotty and coughing, I blame that... and their damn parents who took them out, now we have been homebound all week. Im so sorry, Im being a real cranky pants arent I?
Winters party was pretty good, about 20 people which was way too many! Made 5 or 6 nice salads with quiche and savoury muffins and a cake which turned out TERRIBLE it broke in half coming out of the oven!!! Next year Im buying one
Hope your all well*
