Prama - thanks for the link for the Hylands tablets, will try to get some online.

Sonya - It is pretty difficult the first day of being home alone, isn't it? After that you just settle in and get on with it. I have the last day of being home alone with bub as DP has been away since Friday (only a few days, so can't complain, really...). Spending more time on BB helps for me (I am such a recluse (sp?))! Good luck with Zane's needles, we wait until after his birthday party, so next week will be the week for us... I just hate taking him in for his needles.. Jasper loves Raggs too, but I don't think it is on prime anymore. He also likes the Tellytubbies and 'Bottle top Bill'.

Kato - yay on Baxter cutting his molars!!!

We are getting quite a bit of smoke overhere now the wind has turned south. Just devastating watching the news about the bushfires.... whole streets wiped out... not knowing whether your family members made it or not... Just feeling so sad for those people....

oh esme - hope the fires stay away from you.. i just feel like crying when i see it on the news..

Kato- OMG Molars? hahaha Amber has only just cut her 3rd tooth and her first top one. We have a ways to go! Hopefully Baxter is a lot happier now.

Bun- We hear you on the being naughty. Amber even looks back at me when I ask her what she is doing and has a cheeky grin on her face. Her latest thing is putting things into things. Like she will get into my bag, take the contents out of my purse and then put things like my money in the bin. I found her sippy cup in the bin before and she has also put her dummy in the bin. They are so naughty!

the other day poopy was sticking his finger into the power point and i kept pulling his hand away and kept tell him no, it's bitey. he kept doing it, he thot it was funny and laughed at me when i told him no, even tho i was very firm. finally i gave him a gentle tap on his hand and pulled it away and said No again. He grabbed my hand and tapped me instead!! cheeky bugger.. sigh

Sorry didn't manage to get online yesterday, was at work and then we all went out for dinner. But I did post the cards this morning!!

Bronzdbebe -- good luck with the immunisations. They don't like them but it is better than them getting really sick.

Kato -- molars ouch! Don't worry about not knowing about whats going on I think it takes a while for all of us to work out whats going on with them its a process of elimination. He he on Sesame Street and the kennel:rofl:


Prama -- big hugs. We love you lots because you are you. Unfortunately there are some very narrow minded people around, forget about it if you can. He is not worth you getting upset over.

Esme -- it is so sad about the fires. We are very lucky that we didn't have any around here as we are close to some forests. All those poor people who have died i had to turn off the tv as I was getting quite emotional. The boys want to donate some toys to the kids that have lost everything.

first off BIG HUGS to Prama!! That guy is unfortunately uneducated and ignorant. As for Laksham well we just have to hope and pray that other mummies out there are like us and are making sure that their children are educated and are aware of the fact that it doesn't matter what someone looks like it's what inside that counts.

Zane's needles are over and done with for another 6 months yay for us!! Poor baby he hit the nurse's hand away when she tried to give him a sticker for being so brave, guess she's not on the christmas card list lol. He is all good though which is the main thing.

Photo's are now on FB let me know what you think of the cake!! I didn't realise but I haven't added photo's in ages so there are now heaps for everyone to have sticky beek at.

OK, lentils under control and bub went back to sleep..... just cooking a big batch of vegies for Jasper for the coming week and trying to put some lentils through, but i have never cooked them before; any tips? Now, where was I?

Karlie - Thanks for Jasper's birthday card; he loved it; especially the envelop! How did you know he is such a cheeky monkey ;)?

Jen - Jasper loves putting things into other things too, but luckily he sticks to his stacking cups and blocks! It helps that we have put gates up to keep him out of most of the house.

Sonya - Yay on having the needles over and done with! Hopefully it won't affect him too badly...

Sorry haven't been around much, been dealing with a lot and struggling. The fires are devastating and I am so worried about my friends and family. Not sure of any of you have seen the "Falguni" thread, but I have actually been to her house, and to think of the way her place must look now is, just, traumatic. It is too real. I feel so sorry for everyone affected. We're so broke at the moment so i can't donate money and I can't even get to a Red Cross to donate blood so I feel flipping useless.
I am considering having a garage sale and donating all money if I can.


Prama - I read you post and I wanted to give you a big hug. That man was totally inappropriate. I still can't understand how some people don't have a grasp of cultural diversity. Guess "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" rings true sometimes. We know that you are a beautiful woman and an extraordinary mother, and we know that your 'colour' does not define you as a person. That guy was a jerk. Now go look in the mirror, and remind yourself just how beautiful you are and just how much we love you!


Kato - WOOHOOOO on the molars!! I wish Alex's would come through. They have been teasing me for ages now and he is not himself. I would very much like my low demand baby back!

We loved the cake too, I thought it turned out really well, the older kids loved it!!

Kato, Zane is grizzly too he has his 2 bottom ones coming through the poor bubba, the lumps are huge, I hope they are through soon for us both, I know how you feel about feeling bad about not knowing what's going on, but we are all doing the best we can!! And I perosnally think we are all doing pretty damn good!! We had to get our dog put down 7 months ago but couldn't bear to get rid of his "house"(Zeus he was my other baby):crying: Adam & i were talking about it the other day about cutting the front out of his old kennell for Zane would make an awesome cubby for when he's a bit bigger (just reading that it sounds a bit dodgy doesn't it!!) But it really does look like a little house.:D

Thats awesome that your work is going to do that Prama for the fire/flood victims and also the boys giving away their toys, I have just been watching the news and have had to turn it off, I was sitting there with tears dropping off my chin, It's just so horrible, the whole thing is just devastating, and the poor little boy taken by a crocodile in Nrth QLD floods and the 5 that lost their lives, makes me feel really sad.

Bun Zane does exactly the same thing as Catherine, he is so naughty and I have food all over the place too, My mum was mortified when she was here, ahahahah oh well!!

Jen, what tat do you have, I've always been to scared..I hate needles, Ad got that one about a year ago now, very patriotic of him, All of the guys in the Army seem to have something like that, Im sure he will no doubt get more, he loves it.

Esme how did the lentils go? Does Jasper like them? Zane is pretty good with food but I can't for the life of me get him to eat fruit, Fruit flavor fine like banana custard, or apple & raspberry yoghurt but not proper fruit, soo annoying. The faces are hilarias (sp)though.

BBL need to have a shower, I have pumpkin and other vegies in my hair. Lovely I know!

With fruit - how do you give it to him, diced up pieces?

Alex is great with fruit and veges (so not his father's child, :rofl:), he also loves yoghurt, sandwiches and cheese. The only thing he doesn't seem too fussed about is his meat! I think he gets frustrated with having to chew it for so long. Not sure...

Finally found a straw cup that Alex will drink out of, wooohooo.
How many bottles / breastfeeds is everyone still having... and bottlefeeds, how much?
I have first time mum paranoia and am worried i am not doing things right. :rolleyes:

Thanks Jen for Jakes card. Poor jake seem to get the raw end of the deal sometimes. MIL gave jake a freddo for his birthday present. She off to Queensland for a holiday with her girlfriend, so she can afford something. Steve said "Just get him something small" , but thats just being silly. Steve's dad forgot about him too. My kids are the only kids on both sides of our family, so I dont know why Steve's family are sooo slack. (Sorry I just needed to vent.):rolleyes:


Cookiemonster, The best cup i have found is the playtex insulator cup. Jon and Kate plus 8 (The tv show with 6 kids) use them too.

Esme. How did those vegies go? I hate the smoke smell, you tend to get use to it after a while. Smoked vegies.lol

Karlie OMG, our MIL's can never meet they would get along so well and probably conspire against us!! LOL!! That is soooo something she would do!! She gave us nothing when he was born, not even a card, It's frustrating isn't it, I guess I struggle with it because DH's Dad is the same (they are seperated) Zane got nothing this birthday not even a phonecall. Where my parents spoil him rotten. Z is the only grandchild on both sides too so you would think they would be utterly adored...?? Do you normally get along with Steve's parents? The cake didn't take too long, I did the cake on Fri and froze it and then decorated it sat morning B4 the party. I had all the deco's before hand though it was just a matter of putting them on.

Sorry Prama we were piggies and ate most of it then I did "take home plates" sorry!! We get posted around every two years and I think Sydney is on the cards for next year, so if that is true you guys can just just come to Zane's next party and eat all the cake you like!!

Cookie, Zane is down to 2 BF a day one in the morning when he wakes up and one B4 bed (both sides) I was going to keep going but I need to wean him so I can go back on the combined pill having all sorts of drama's with the mini (a whole new post) so hopefully within 3 weeks he will not be BF'ing anymore. I have just replaced the BF midday with some milk in a sippy cup if he wants it, sometimes he doesn't My GP said yesterday that because milk is only a part of his diet now I didn't need to do formula or bottles so I won't worry with that. The cups we use are Nuby they have a little straw out the top and handles on both sides, He does have some other which he uses but they seem to be his faves.I have tried giving Z fruit all sorts of ways fresh, stewed, mashed, canned, in one of those suckyoutythings all to no avail. I will keep trying maybe the fruit fairies will come and one day he will wake up loving fruit!! Cheers to that!:D

Cookie - we are on three BF per day; morning, after lunch and before bed. I kind of want to cut down, but don't have the heart... He just loves it too much, so we just keep going for a bit longer. If Alex loves his fruit, vegies and milk/dairy, I don't think you have to worry about his milk/formula intake as he will get enough of everything through his food. I have seen some similar questions in the bf/solids general discussion with some very good answers, maybe have a read back through them? Jasper doesn't eat much meat either, I just try to give him egg, dairy or tuna everyday with lunch to get some protein into him.

Sonya - I hear you on hearing every noise during the night for the first couple of nights when DH isn't home. I do the same. Just when you are used to being by yourself and start to sleep well again they get home... DP came home yesterday; so I am back to sleeping well. Only ten days (nine nights?) to go...

Karlie - So sad that MIL can't even be bothered to buy him a decent present... I just can't believe people can be like that. I am very lucky; my PIL are worth their weight in gold; they are there when you need them and even though DS is grandchild no. 7 he still gets spoiled rotten.

Prama - How's Poopy? Did he sleep a bit last night? Jasper might be getting teeth too, as his hands have not been out of his mouth the last couple of days and he is having nappy rash again. I have managed to get some Hylands tablets, so we are all ready for the big event!

It sounds like I am missing out on a lot of pictures as I am not on FB... does anyone know if I can have a look at your profiles without having one myself? I am afraid I might get addicted to yet another internet site, so have tried to stay away so far... BB is taking up all my internet time!
LOL, the mutts loved the lentils! I have never had them myself, but since they are high on protein, I thought I might give them a go. I have to say I didn't like them too much.... Have put a couple of spoonfulls through his vegie mix, but gave the rest to the dogs who liked it very much.

Sonya- We are the same with you on feeds. Amber is still BF and we do one in the morning when she wakes and one just before bed. She also has cows milk in her weetbix and yoghurt. I offer her milk in her sippy cup at lunch as well. My tat is on my right hip. Its a half moon type thing that sounds lame when I try to explain. But it does look better in real life! Thanks for your kind words.

KArlie- Nah I havent heard from Carley for a long time. Hmmmm was it a giant freddo at least? You'd think being the only grandkids, they would get doted on?

I work at Austar, so not only are we setting up a fund, but also providing free Austar at the relief centres in vic and qld. also helping the schools that austar supports. i think we are also organising a relief concert.

esme - poopy didnt sleep well at all, he was grizzling and crying in his sleep. he woke up at 9ish cried, gave him some hyland tablets and he went back to sleep. then he got really bad at 4am and we brought him to our bed and he slept well. so i think if he wakes up again 9ish 10pm, we might have him in our bed for the whole night. i know we shouldnt after all that tresillian but he's in so much pain and it affects him in the mornings. he's so unsettled and clingy and he cries and cries when i leave him at day care. maybe if he sleeps w us he might feel better in teh morning.
this morning as i was buckling him up in his carseat on teh way to day care, i said 'i love you' in my usual sing song way, and he said 'ah aaah ah' in teh same sing song way.. sigh.. i love him so much!

Hi Girls,

We got 4 cards today thanks to Lakshman ( so cute ) , Amber ( love the fairy ), Tara & Jake ( cute pig ) and Zane ( Sophie is fascinated with the front of the card ).

Prama -- oh hun it does get easier. But you will always miss them. I am working this afternoon and the kids will be at home with DH and I will still think of them all the time. Big hugs

Ash -- DD has a bottle of 200mls morning and night, and will occaisionally have a third at around 3pm ish. Haven't started cows milk yet but she has yoghurt and milk on her cereal. I am sure you are doing everything just fine its just we all question ourselves from time to time.

Karlie -- i would need to vent too if MIL did that to us. Some people just don't get it and are very selfish. Vent away anytime you need too.

Esme -- he he I am the same when sophie goes to bed in the morning it is coffee and BB and I am scared if I get into facebook I will be on the "puter" as Nicholas says even more!

O Prama, you poor thing, Your not having a good run are you, first the grouch in woolies is not worth your thoughts or tears I know that is harder said than done but hun if you keep thinking all those what if's you will eat yourself up. Judging by the way that man behaved he probably wouldn't have saved/donated to people in general regardless of what they looked like, I was born in Australia, I look anglo, & I have been called names like a white sl*t in a country I was born in? It's sad but there are very closed minded people and unfortunately we live in a world that while it's not accepted, racism and other forms of predjudice are everywhere. please don't let these people make you feel like you are not worthy because you are!!! The closest thing I have come to a "I love you" from Zane is big cuddles and last night when I having some tears over the fires he was pointing at the them on my face as I cuddled him? Awww shucks that will do..He loves me!!LOL!!

Zane is really fair too, he sometimes looks like he has reddish tinges through his hair but who knows what color it will end up, Jasper is such a cutie!! We just had a lovely play date at the library. Went really well, apart from the fact that Jasper is not shy at all around other people and just barges over and through anything and everything to get what he wants... Just makes me wonder how other bubs are around other people/bubs?
One of the reasons why I haven't taken him to playgroup is because I thought he might be intimidated by the older kids, but now I am pretty sure he will be ok, so might take him soon :).

Jakes going to wake soon so I better be quick.

Jen. NO it was just a crappy small frog. I think DH will not allo MIL to just get him that after getting Tara a gold necklace.
Jake wouldnt eat lunch either, he only like's milk at the moment.

Esme, Jake gets spoilt by my families presents. My sisters bought him an engraved silver car with the number plate saying Jake. It was so cool. Mum & dad bought him a Little People garage and carwash.

Sonya, Moody MIL Ahhh, 1 week she's super friendly and thoughtful, and the next is another story. Steve's dad lives Melbourne, and always carries on about family in Ireland all the time. Sooo boring.

Glad all the cards are starting to arrive, sorry some were late. Well I survived another night, My Mum who lives in NSW makes me email her every morning so she knows we are OK, soo Mumish!! Z has decided he only needs one sleep a day so I didn't get back on yesterday....played trucks and cars instead.:D

Karlie - Yeah that sounds like my MIL to a T!! It must be hard seeing Jake not getting the same treatment/attention as Tara, from a mothers point of view they are both as equally special, it's hard when times like this come around and it seems as though the people you think feel the same, somehow make you feel let down when their actions don't indicate that. We love you Jakey!!:D

Esme, jasper sounds like such a little character, lol, Zane is a bit like that too, Our next door neighbors little girl (same age roughly) has a dummy and whenever they are together Zane pulls it out of her mouth. And always try to "talk" louder than her.

Speaking of which has anyone had a problem with bullying? A friend of mine 3 year old son pushed Zane backwards and he hit his head on the tiles, (furious) it happened at our house, we were sitting at the table right next to them but I didn't get to Z in time Zane,of course started screaming and I said to the little boy "we do not push in this house." and was cuddlying Zane and the "bully" started screaming too?? WTF ?? But what infuriated me the most was not that fact that Z as pushed kids are kids and things like that will happen but was the fact the the mother just said "why are you crying? you wouldn't like it if someone pushed your sister?" and that's it, he was allowed to continue playing as if all was fine? I was in utter shock!! What happened to time out? or am I living in fairy land? What are your girls views on this?? Is it ok to chastise (sp) other peoples children when they won't but are there? Needless to say the contact between us is limited and Z doesn't play with them unless I'm right there. Really dissapointing.

The only way I can get Z to not spit his food and sqidge up his nose is to sing the Raggs theme song (my god my 1 yr old has an addiction to Raggs? LOL) O there's my Fab singing again. So far so good with his food though teeth are causing nuisance there.

Hey Prama & Kato how is Poopy and "little monkey" today, hope their nights were better, Kato is there a photo of you and baxter as your profile pic? I think I added you? if not I have just req an add from someone I don't know?? LOL.

Karlie & Sonya - sorry to hear of horror MIL antics! i am pretty lucky with mine, i have to actually tell her to stop buying stuff for baxter...we get along really well, but they only live 10 mins away, so there are a lot of unannounced 'popins':doh: Freddo tho, really!

Prama - i found you on FB, sometimes i forget how generic my name really is LOL. hehe bout poopy and his food - baxter likes to take it off the spoon, and then offer it to me, only to shove his fist half way down his throat :p


Esme - ditto on the lentils - did they go down well?? Jasper sounds just like baxter - at least we don't have to worry bout them being shy..:redface:

a month or so ago we had a little issue with baxter hitting people in the face so i started to put him on the floor and ignore him if he did it to me, and anyone else i would firmly say 'no' and turn him away facing a wall (portable naughty corner:p) and he seems to ahve gotten better.....don't know how you go about it if the parent is there and doesn't do anything - must be frustrating!! everyone has such different parenting styles tho, so you end up walking on eggshells...good luck! (Zane will be big enuf to hold his own in no time!)

Wow, this thread has been busy, I can hardly catch up!

We had a great time with my parents here and they loved spending so much time with DD but I am knackered after showing them around, cooking and cleaning up after everyone, etc. Sorry I didn't participate in the card giving; I missed that post and was then too busy to catch up with it!

prama - what an idiot that guy is. I hope they stuck all 4 coke bottles up his bum! I would have wanted to if I was there. I feel so awful for you crying after dropping Poopy off - it must be so hard for you. You are a great mum to him and I am sure he's happy at daycare. It is just so unfair that you have to go back FT, I hope maybe they can change you to PT at some stage maybe? Catherine also likes to take her half chewed food out of her mouth and then throw it on the floor. Grrrr! We just bought the FP swing, we are yet to hang it up though!

bronzdbebe - did everyone PM you their fbook name? I have found Karlie and Kato now. That is cute about Zane trying to chat to the neighbour - Catherine likes to chat with people too and her latest thing is taking her dummy out of her mouth (which she isn't supposed to have unless she's sleeping but sometimes she manages to find one somewhere!) and she tries to put it in other peoples mouths. Yuck!

Karlie - your MIL sounds awful - a freddo frog!? Gees, I would be annoyed at that. Both sides of our family were pretty generous, my little girl now has waaaay too many toys!

It sounds like we have a few redheads in here! I am a redhead and we have been waiting for DD's hair to go red. It looks red in the light sometimes, but I'm not sure if it's going to go red. Maybe the next bub!

esme - you sound just like me! When DD goes down for her morning nap, that is my coffee and BB time too. I think it's the only thing keeping me sane! I have missed it while my parents have been here and the week after next we are heading back to Perth for a couple of weeks so I don't know what I am going to do! I will have to bring the laptop with me and get on here as much as I can...

Ash - DD still has 3 feeds a day - morning, night and before her afternoon sleep. I also do the first time mum worry thing, and I know I should cut back her feeds, but she loves the boob soooo much that I let her have it. I am trying really hard to cut back more though and she is finally eating better so that will hopefully make it easier. It's kind of hard for me too to stop feeding her - she is really not a baby anymore and it feels strange to not BF her.

Sometimes I feel like DD doesn't like me much. She often just wants her dad and gives him big cuddles but not me and then this morning she wanted my dad and wouldn't come to me! She has never done that before and I felt so unloved.

O Bun hunni, Zane does that too!! Mostly to Adam, but if you show him a family picture and you say where's Daddy he can always point out Adam yet if you ask about Mummy I'm the dog or something lol, I think they all have their moments. I know that come next Friday when Adam comes home Zane will not care less if I'm around or not unless it's milk time. Big hugs though, doesn't help make you feel better at the time though does it.

Ok so lonliness has set in and I'm only up to day 3!!! LOL!! I have done 3 loads of washing (I had to wash 1 load twice because I forgot it was in there) I've caught up on my taped biggest looser eps, I've vaccumed and eaten a whole row of lemmington fingers.!!!

Sonya, At 3 years kids can be naughty. Under the age of 3 they dont understand much, but by the age of 3 they do know better. Tara at 3 got 1 warning and says sorry, after that it was all hell for her. Huge drama.lol.

Kato, Thats good you got a goods night sleep. It was actually pritty cold for us last night.
