sorry quick post.
I hv pirate's patch over my left eye. Lakshman poked my left eye and made a diagonal scratch across my cornea and pupil.. had to go to the doctors and get anti-biotics and all.. so very very painful..
ive lost my depth perception! finding it hard to do stuff and tping is straining as well. i found it hard to feed him this morning, i kept missing his mouth.. lol!

ash - great idea abt the cards, im not sure how it works tho.. lol.. sorry

Hope you are all going well, For all of you down in Victoria and Adelaide, I'm trying my best to send some of our crappy weather to you (meaning that in the nicest possible way) It's been raining in QLD still warm but it cools things down for a bit. So hopefully my wishful thinking pays off and you guys get some relief soon:)

Have to say I agree with you 100% in that I struggle to leave Zane with anyone. I've only had my parents mind him so far and that was hard enough, I think that it's the safest way to be though, I know you can't let the horror stories stop you from living your life and I'll do my Very best not to pass my fears onto Zane but I don't think it hurts to err on the side of caution with your kids, you only get one shot at making it right.:pray: Hope Tara had a great time in Kindy!!:D

OMG Prama you poor thing! I know you probably won't be able to read this right now, but I hope your not in your pirate patch for too long! I'm not sure what "depth perception" is (was that really blonde of me to say that??)but hopefully there is no long term damage.

Zane took 6 steps yesterday 6! WooooHooooo!!! He had only been doing 1 or 2 and then pow off he went I'm so proud of my little Munchkin Man!! Not sure if was a fluke because did that in the morning and was back to doing about 3 by the afternoon!

Well Best be off my house looks like a bomb has hit it, I was tired last night I lounged instead of tidying. Have a great day all and a Fabulous weekend:D

Its goint to be 45 deg today in Bendigo, and Im battering down the hatches now. Last night the power turned off from 9pm-1am. Poor DS and DD freaked whenthe air con turned back on with the change of temp.

Cookie, I hate talking about Darby too. My hubby was dropping tears when watching the news. His 35 and DD is 4.

Prama. TARA DID THE SAME TO ME TOO. I was in the RACV paying for rego when Tara swang for my face. Her sharp nail hit my eye, and I later found out it ulcerated. I had a patch for a week, and found that it took 2 years before I could touch it without it itching a tearing. Steve would say, "Are you crying again"? ( Isnt that wierd how much the same has happened in our first pregnancys). You and I went through depression, bubs scratching our eye and having a hubby called Steve.lol.

thanks girls, i went to get my eye checked yesterday evening and it's almost all healed. im still on anti-biotics, and my patch is gone. thank god.
karlie, tara must have hit your with much more force.. a patch for a week, that must have hurt so much. it's terrible isnt it.. like needles in your eye.
i had the same pain when i had laser surgery done in my eyes. i had been wearing glasses since i was 7, now i dont anymore.


tomorrow's feb!! has jasper got the first birthday here?

I think the worst part was rubbing your eye, and finding it hard to stop. It was so easily set off just by bumping it . When it happened I couldnt open my eye at all, and got headaches in bright light. With in 3 hours I couldnt leave my bedroom with the blinds down, and had a damp fashwasher on my eye.

Well Zane had his first major stack today, I guess I should be thankfull he has lasted till now but OMG it was horrible, he was crawling at an olympic pace and his knee trapped his hand and he face splatted into the tiles, The scream that came out of his mouth was deafening.:cry: There was blood all in his mouth but his teeth (all 4 of them) were still firmly in place....Thank GOD!!!:D DH was hopeless. I think I need to add at this point he is in the ADF...Infantry soldier Has had full first aid treatment and they are trained for medical emergencies for when they go OS and so on. He has delt with things soooo much worse than this and he just froze, Not a comforting feeling. After we...no I had the basic's under control we took him up to the Doc's just to get checked and he is fine! By the time we got there he was his usual cheeky self and I was also told....He's a boy and this is just the start of it...So yay for all of us, cause they are only going to get more daring and faster!! Not sure I can handle this... still trying to get the taste of my heart out of my mouth!!:lol:

What is everyone getting for their Bubs first birthday pressies? We got Zane a FP Bounce and spin Zebra, FP pelican and some bed linen...(The my parents are buying his first big boy bed...not that he'll be in it for awhile.) He just got soooo spoilt at christmas he doesn't need anything really.

Well thats all my news...Sorry bit of a selfish post, just needed to vent a little I guess.

Poor Zane. I know when Jake was 2 weeks old he had breathing difficulty with a cold. Its amazing when you are in fright how hard it is just to make a phone call . Your mind just cant think straight.

Im still struggling to find Jake a radio flyer wagion I wanted to get him. I dont mind paying $80 at toys r us, but Im not paying $120 for the same thing at Target. (Of course Toys R us are out of stock.)

anyone had any probs with their littlies and blister on their feet? since DS has been walking he keeps getting blisters under his big toe.? i don't know if it is coz he is gripping with his toes, or he has just inherited my genes (i blister all the time!)...

good luck with everyones plans for 1st birthdays - we are just having a fam bbq at a park - no mess at my place thank :D We got baxter a CAT bulldozer thing with mega blocks in the back and some crayola tadoodles. he got spoilt rotten at xmas, so not too much.

Hi all!

Hear you on the heat! It has been 40+ here for quite a few days now. Yesterday 43 and today feels the same. Had to go to a christening today; was really nice, but the airconditioning in the church wasn't doing much, so was very hot. Jasper did really well considering he missed out on his morning sleep; he just loved looking at all the people and the other bubs. He just went to sleep at 1 pm without too much drama, so I think we are ready to tackle the occasional playgroup session. How did Catherine go Bun? Did you girls make some new friends?

Kato - Baxter is such a cutie!! They are really starting to look more like little kids and less like babies, aren't they? How are his little fingers; hopefully no blisters? Jasper isn't walking yet, so don't have any experience with blisters yet.

Bronzdbebe - That must have been sooo scary!! I am still waiting for the first big fall, but I don't think it is too far away... Is Zane ok now? We bought Jasper a Thomas the tank engine push/ride on train and a wiggles CD/DVD, so not going too crazy either.

Prama - I think Jasper is the first to turn 1... Catherine is second (day after Jasper) not sure how we go after that... I remember looking at the ticker when I first put it in my signature and thinking it was such a long time to go to 12 months, but hasn't it gone fast...

Karlie - how did you cope with 45 degrees? Hopefully no more blackouts for you!!!

Bronzdbebe- So glad Zane is ok. I think I am the calmer one between DF and me. Although we havent had a big stack yet. Oh hang on yes we did! Last weekend. Amber was sitting in a little her size camp chair when she leant forward too much (it was on an angle) and she fell face first into the gravel. When I picked her up she had a mouth full of gravel and a bit of gravel rash on her face. She was pretty brave though and didnt cry for too long. I was the calmer of us where DF freaked a little!

Prama- I am glad your eye is better and I am sure poopy will be fine in day care. Although me saying that, I sort of dread a little bit about the day I have to put her into care. Stay strong, your little man will be off playing with the other kids.

Karlie- Can I look anywhere down here for the wagon for Jake?

For birthday pressies, Amber is getting a small ride on and a small FP toy remote control seeing as she loves our remotes. She doesnt need anything else. I have decided to do a number 1 cake from the Womens Weekly cook book.

Esme- Jasper will love the thomas ride on. I have a friend with one and it was just awesome. The best thing about it?..... It has volume control to lower the choo choos!

Thanks for all the kind words about Little Z's stacker. He is completely back to normal tearing around causing mayhem and havoc. I probably sounded awful about DH, I guess I was just in shock, He is normally the one that fixs/deals with anything when it goes pear shaped, Just goes to show my soldier isn't so tough when it comes to our little man.....And I wouldn't have it any other way:D

Karlie, we have quite a few Toy's R Us up here maybe they can transfer stock? Or have you tried online toy shops or even ebay??

You did sooo well Esme to get through that service, Zane struggles with the heat. High Five Jasper!! What a little trooper..Mummy too of course!!

Kato, Zane hasn't had any blisters yet, he has these funny little "fat pads" maybe they will prevent that although he isn't a fully fledged walker yet...sorry!! the tips of his fingers sometimes peel, I put that down to the crazy crawling pace on the carpet??

Hi Shoegal, great to hear from you! I can hardly believe Baxter is 10 months either, when did that happen?? I hope you guys are going well.

prama - ouchies on the eye! DD has come close to doing that to me a few times - they can be so rough sometimes! DD's latest trick is to suddenly arch herself backwards when she is having a tantie and I swear she has nearly broken my nose a few times. You wouldn't believe the injuries babies can inflict until you have one hey! Lakshman will be fine at day care I'm sure, but it must be soo hard to leave him. I am going to have to go through that soon myself once I start looking for some PT work. I have decided to join the gym and start putting DD in creche while I'm there which will hopefully ease me into going back to work and having to put her into daycare too. I am such a wuss I bet I will cry more than DD when she starts daycare!

Bronzbebe - DD has also had a few major ouchies. She has split her top lip twice by climbing up on things and then suddenly throwing herself down and knocking her chin on the way down and her bottom teeth have gone through the top lip (usually on a coffee table, but thankfully she has learnt and is much more careful now!). I guess there is little we can do as this is how they learn, but it makes you feel terrible when they hurt themselves! Oh, and yes, we had a christening for DD when she was 3 months old.

kato - I am getting so paranoid about the oven now that DD likes to pull herself up on it; she came sooo close to burning herself on it last night and they are so quick!

jen - I love the womens weekly cake ideas! I have decided to do the ladybird as the main cake, but will also do some little animal cupcakes too. I can't wait, it will be heaps of fun!!

esme - we went really well at playgroup. I managed to get DD to sleep in by feeding her when she woke up and keeping real quiet and then I popped her back into bed which worked for another hour, so then she was happy to stay up for longer and she had a great time playing with the other kids. It was good for me to meet some people too. We are going again tomorrow. We also did a swimming class today which was fun. I hear you on the heat - it was horrible here for a few days. Thankfully DD doesn't seem too bothered by it though. Wow, only 2 days til Jasper's birthday and 3 days til Catherine's!

We have gotten Catherine a fisher price swing for her birthday. It doesn't really feel like a lot but she has sooo many toys already and I am always buying her new things anyway. I think I may get her a special book too.

baxters fingers seem to be fine after the burn, phew! no blisters, and the ones on his feet seemed to have died down so...anyone elses littlies driving you nuts with reading..?? thats sounds horrible, but i swear i spent the majority of yesterday reading every board book DS owns at least 4-5 times EACH - so cute but OMG!:wall:

Well Benjamin starts school on Thursday and Nicholas starts 3 yr old kinder on Wednesday so it is a big week for us! DH has two weeks off but has hurt his knee so has just been on the couch today:wall: We might not get as much done before DD's b'day as i thought we would.

We are having a party on the 15th probably have a little splash pool if its hot for the kids (around 20 i think -- i am insane i know ) filled from the tank. We have decided to make a princess castle cake as DD got a little people one for Christmas and loves it too bits. DD is standing but not really taking any steps which is good for now!

I am officially the mummy of a TODDLER ... Still can't believe it, where has the time gone? I am actually a bit emotional at the moment...

Just a little time to reflect on the year gone by. Last year at this time we were in the hospital having just met our little man for the first time. Amazed by how beautiful and perfect he was. Wondering how we would cope being parents.12 Months seemed like such a long time away, especially in the difficult first few weeks. But now it is official; our baby is 1 year old!

We could not have done this without the support all the girls here in the Feb 08 thread. Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences! I hope we can keep sharing our journeys with our little ones.

As for us; we had a lovely birthday yesterday. Grandparents, uncle, auntie and cousins came over yesterday afternoon; Jasper got spoilt with a fp animal train which he just loves. He also can't get enough of his Thomas ride on and is proud as punch pushing it around. I made a round double layered choccy cake that worked out really well. Decorated it with icing, sprinkles and farm animals made of sugar. I found some natural coloured sprinkles, so 3 yo nephew could have some too; was all worth it as he said it was the best cake he never tasted!!! Soo cute, he was so excited to be allowed to have sprinkles on his cake, he never had them before.

That is it for us, will do personals next time...
