Caiden's, I've never used Fenergan and from what I understand it's pretty difficult to get a hold of these days. A lot of pharmacists won't give it out without a prescription. When we fly in November, I'm planning on giving Ben chupa chups and feeding Jared on take off and landing so they have something to suck on to help with the pressurisation. Once you're 40 000 feet up in a pressurised cabin, it'll probably just be the noise of the engines that will bother him.
-
Flic, we gave Caleb a dummy or his bottle on take off and landing, those were the only real times it bothered him. Just go to the chemist and ask if they have anything that can help.
Also we use Chamomila and thats for sore ears, its natural and you just stick two under his tongue and it helps toothache and earache. i would bring a couple of toys and only bring out one at a time so that when he gets bored iwth one you can bring out a "new" toy, this might help to distract him from the pain in his ears as well.

Hi ladies!
Glad to see/read that everyone's bubbas are doing well and coming along in leaps and bounds!
LS - Thanks for the compliment re DD :) - LOL...and yes we hear all the time how much hair she has, but i never get sick of it :) - i think she actually needs a haircut!! - I can't believe your DS is already taking tentative steps, thats so exciting!
AFM, DD is doing really well, no crawling yet, just up on all fours and moving backwards everywhere, or rolling! - She has 3 bottom teeth and the two incisors are just starting to pierce thru :( - hope they hurry up cause she's not a happy camper! - although after the bites ive received while BF her, not sure i should be wishing those teeth to come through! - She is also sitting up on her own, but like many of your bubs i put a cushion behind her as she too likes to throw herself back for fun :)
Jo - Congrats on TTC#2!! - will probably happen faster than you think!
I'm glad to see everyone is doing well and enjoying your bubbas :)
-
Well we seem to be back to normal now :) Hopefully no more random fevers, colds, ear infections, allergic reactions or anything else for a while!
Jared is doing the cutest thing now! When I sing "If you're happy and you know it" he claps his hands! It's just so adorable to watch. Thankfully, he's not like his brother and I managed to get it on video :) (Ben wants to watch himself on video so I can't get him on it at all). Jared's SO different to Ben, who didn't clap at all until he was 11 months old!!!!
Hope you're all well. Can you believe our bubs are all around 8 months old now? Where on earth has that time gone?
-
Jo/Disgirl: Thanks so much for your advice. I had fogotten you had already flown with Caleb! I wasnt overly comfortable with giving him any kind of drug so I will definatly opt for the dummy, bottle and the dissovable tablets! Thanks again gals:D
Ella_Bear: Your poor little bubba! Hope it isn't to painful and is over soon! It's such a cruel thing at such a young age. They look at you like "why is this hurting me mum, Please make it stop" and you cannnt!! Awful :( Nothing cuddles and kissed won't fix; the best medicine.
All is going well =] Caiden is still perservering with his crawling and can rotate in a circle using his hands and knees. So he can turn, but just can't make it forward! hehe..poor thing gets so frustrated.
Well Caiden is down for the night, dinner is cooking and there is a bottle of wine with my name on it which will acompany me whilst I watch packed to the rafters :D
Raspberries to you all!
xx
Ps. Not sure if I have everyone on facebook or not yet? Please add me! I love putting names to faces and seeing all your beautiful bubby pics and vids. I am Felicity Debenham and there is a black n white photo of Caiden and I. So look me up!!

Good morning!
I thought I'd pop in again and say hi.
Caiden's: I just added you on facebook. What a beautiful picture of you and your boy. I am amazed that he is so close to crawling. Emily is making the leg movements but her arms are so lazy and end up just going back into a flying position so she is dragging her head along the floor (not that she moves much). She is like a catterpiller.
I took Emily on a plane recently and she was ok I tried to be bfing but it is over too quick these days so she was hungry and I started too early both times we took off...opps. It did not seem to bother her though. I think a dummy or something to chew on would work
better.
I hope you enjoyed your wine and packed to the rafters. I recorded it and might watch it today.
Disgirl: It is amazing that the bubs are nearly 8 months. It has gone sooo fast. Yay for Jared being able to clap...that is so clever! It is so excited watching then learn to do new things. Emily just wants to stand at the moment as soon as we hold her hands she pushes up with her legs....I would prefer she learn to crawl before worrying about standing but...oh well.
Ella: I hope those teeth come through soon. I am yet to experience that but don't look forward to it. How funny that you may need to cut her hair soon! She does have lovely locks.
Jo: How exciting that you are trying again. We been trying without trying for a little while but just last week my period finally come back so starting to take temps and back on the fertility friend website so see if I can tell when I ovulate...hopefully it won't take as long this time. Some people think I am crazy but it took 11 months with Emily and I want them close anyway. People cope with twins so I am sure we can cope with them close together.
Hello to everyone else...I better go DH is looking after Emily and putting washing on while I play on the computer...such a good man and not even complaining.
Oh and also wanted to say I am back at work. It is 10 hours a week 5 from the office and 5 from home. DH is at home on Tuesday mornings so it is working well. Emily misses me but only gets clingy when I come home and really wants a bf but she drinks from a cup expressed milk. It is all going well so far and is nice to see the people I work with again. It is a pretty good set up...just a shame that as we are on Centrelink I only end up with 1/2 the money I earn on top of what we get...but we are helping out my work and being good citizens by not relying on the govt when we don't have to. Govt has been very genourous to us this year. Thanks Kev!
OK have a great day

Sure is quiet in here atm! :)
Hope all is well with you and your families.
me-lisa-Wonderful seeing you on Facebook! And thanks for your compliments =] Emily is just beautiful. You seem to have a very cute happy family. glad Emily was ok on plane, feeling a little better about it now. I havnt been on a place since I was 5 so it feels like my first time! Little worried about getting plane sick myself as I get sick in cars and boats, but I hear its pretty uncommon to get plane sickness. Fingers crossed..I dont like the idea of spending 4 hrs sick in mid air hehe
Caiden is thriving more and more everyday. About two days ago he woke up and his baby babble trippled in range. Instead of just "mum, mum, mum" he is also saying "dadda" and "bub, bub" and "wa wa wa" "bum bum bum" and a few other's. Its incredible to watch. He has discovered how to grind his teeth together which I am not to keen on haha... Game of the week is throwing everything of walker tray, wants it back, throws it, wants it back-I am sure you are all familiar with that one!!! tiring..but fun none the less.
Thinking of all you mum's and bub's out there..especially the ones teething!! IT WILL END (so they keep telling me hehe)

Good evening everyone! I have just finished reading all the new posts and have enjoyed reading about your beautiful bubs. It's fun watching these exciting milestones! It is amazing hearing of the fun times you all have and just how different each of our precious ones are.
Sadly, this is totally a me post and my last on BB as I feel it is time for me to move on....I wanted to post one last time instead of just vanishing as others have lol! I just feel that what used to be my escape from the real world has now become the source of my stress and worry....particularly in terms of the choices I have made as a mother. It just seems that some people/companies/groups/doctors (mostly mothers themselves) feel that it is OK to push their opinions onto others to boost themselves up, only to leave others feeling deflated....(once again....not in this thread)! I seem to be getting more and more sensitive to this so it is now time for me to find a new hobby....maybe scrapbooking lol??!!
I think that you are ALL wonderful mothers, as different as you all are, and do an absolutely amazing job....HOWEVER you do it!! I'd like to thank you all for the support you have offered me during my pregnancy and for sharing your journey as well. Being a mother is the most rewarding job in the entire world and I am pleased that I was able to share this with you all!
I hope you all understand my reasons for leaving and please know that my time on BB, in this thread, will never be forgotten.
Goodluck to those TTC! May the rest of 2009 be full of laughter and special moments with your precious bubs and families!!
xx

LS, I'm sorry you're moving on, I've enjoyed all of your posts. I don't visit BB much at all anymore either, and only ever this thread and my other Baby Buddies thread, I got sick of reading everybody elses' judgemental posts as well :(
I wish you all the best!!!!
If you or anybody else is on Facebook and wants to add me as a friend, just send me a PM and I'll let you know my name :)

BYE GIRLS!!!! :hello:
Hi Girls,
I too am another one leaving this thread. I'm not on BB much anymore these days as I'm focusing on spending my time with my precious baby girl who is growing up ever so fast!! I also feel BB isn't quite the same place it used to be.
Thank you to you all for sharing the pregnancy, birth and early baby journey with me! It was wonderful to share the journey with other women going through the same thing! :D
Lucky - in regards to you feeling that others push their opinions on you to boost themselves up..... you should instead focus on what you are doing and be happy with your choices you have made and not worry about what others are doing. This is what I have learnt since becoming a Mum. Be happy for what others are doing and be happy for what you are doing. After all, you choice to feel the way you do. Noone else can make you feel that way.
All the very best to you all!! Take care of yourselves and your gorgeous bub's!
Love Ren & Ava ** Mwah ** xx

Hi Ladies,
Have just finished reading thru the posts and I too am another one who is leaving BB - not all together, but for a little while at least :) - I too have found that it is not quite the "gentle parenting" site is claims to be and have found some of the threads (not this one of course!) to be somewhat offensive in the posts that have been submitted. I hardly post at all for fear of being targeted or made to feel my opinion is not valued or is, heaven forbid, not in agreeance with the "majority"!
I wish everyone the best for the future and for those of you (like me!) who will be TTC in the near future, goodluck with it and we may see each other around here or on FB!
Goodluck to everyone and may your bubbas continue to grow and amaze as always :)
Lots of love!
Gill & Ella

PS: Dis - i have pm'd you to find out your email to search you on FB :D

hi ladies
ive been MIA for quite a while, moved house, buliding another etc etc plus just busy being mum...Well things are going ok,Nixon has started sleeping pretty much right through the night now,,,he still has a 11pm feed as he is a shocking eater of late...i know the teeth are cominng as you can see them as well as feel sharp bits...His latest habit is not wanting to eat abything that remotely has a chunk in it...will only resort to eating purees and always chokes on anything other,i think hes starting to develop a habit of choking then cries then wont eat it,then refuses point blank anything other than puree or mash..what fruits are you giving your babies(bare in mind nixon has no fangs yet)he sucks watermelon n orange out of those mesh bag things, loves sucking on banana and rice crackers, wont eat my food i cook, will only eat jar food!!!we will see if its just teething as its only been going on a week..
He still hates his milk so we now substitute with dairy and hes taken to using a sippy cup...
Off for our 1st holiday next week..we flying to whitsundays
what do u recommend to take, apart from a few bottles,a sheet set,a blanket and ive packed sleepsuits that are summery, some summer clothes etc, what are the airlines like with you taking a stroller, can we take it as hand luggage or does it go with ur bags..we are flying with tiger and i know they can be a bit difficult..the resort is supplying a portacot so thats ok,
Good to hear that some of you are trying for another..i think with the problems ive had with Nixon and no family or friends here in Melbourne for support we will hold off on another at the moment, its taken me almost 9 months to recover and i still need to shed around 8 kilos..ugh
cheers sonya

I thought I would pop in and say hi. I am pretty infrequent here these days.
sonya - Yay for Nixon sleeping through the night now. Emily does pretty well now she goes down at around 7pm and then usually makes it through to 4 or 5am but sometime later which is great. I often give her a feed then pop her back in bed for a sleep in.
Exciting that there are some teeth. I guess that puts them off their food but he sounds funny with his only wanting to eat pureed things. Fussy little man! With the fruit thing we give em lots of different fruits (she has only got a tooth last week so still gums everything) She eats small pieces of melons, banana, and I stew up hards fruits like apples/pears.
Your holiday sounds fantastic. I am jealous. When I flew with virgin they write on the itinery that you can take pram/port-a-cot on top of your baggage for no extra cost in checked baggage. Now that they are older there is much less we have to pack for them which is good. If you have a carrier that is really good for going on the plane as since you don't have the stroller after check in you have to carry the bub until you get in the plane.
It is a fun time with our bubs. Emily is getting close to crawling. She can move anywhere she wants now but commando style. She has been a bit whingy with the tooth coming through but she is generally a happy little girl. We are trying for another but it is only first cycle back. It has been about 7 1/2 weeks since last AF. It is possible I am pg but might just been my cycle taking a while to kick back into action. Have been taking temperatures so suggests it could be good news but don't really want to take a test yet as I hate taking them as they are always negative (even when there is a bub there) so figure I should wait a bit longer. I don't feel pg but I guess I never really had a lot of symtoms with emily. Who knows. I will wait another week or so and then test.
Not much else to report.
Hope you are all have great weekend
-
Lisa - did you end up getting AF? its been two months since i came off the pill and no period, no ovulation (i take my temps and record on FF too) so ive taken Provera to induce a period, im sick of waiting for my body to do the right thing, i know it knows what to do cos its done it before so instead of hanging around waiting for AF to show i just decided to bring it on, after 73 days of no Ovulation i figured its probably not gonna happen (even though i did conceive Caleb on CD 56 so it CAN happen)
well Caleb is so close to walking now, even the chiro said it might be only another month! hes getting his 6th tooth, i can see it coming through, hes just the happiest little chappy ever!!! i was holding a friends baby the other day and he was quite unsure of it all, i just reassured him, i said "see Mamma is holding xxx you were once little like this, but you are a big boy now!"
hope everyone else is well!

Hi Jo! I was not sure if anyone read this anymore so did not update from the last post. I have actually been meaning to send you a message on facebook as......YES I am pregnant! Yay! About 10 1/2 weeks now. I only had one period (and never went back on any contraception as it took 12 months to have Emily so I was worried). I am suprised it happened so quickly this time but I am still pretty scared that it has happened too easily. I have had one scan and it was all good and my next one is next Friday which is exciting. I will officially announce after that. So EMily will be 17 months when #2 is born which is close but what we had hoped for.
Emily is finally crawling properly (with some commando-ing which is quicker) and pulling herself up onto coffee tables. She just grabbed my glass of water and took a drink -then I tried to take it off her resulting in her spilling it all down herself...opps! We are having such fun with her and can't wait to have another cute little person in the house.
In other news DH got a job at a church in Canberra so next week we are looking for a house and hopefully we can find something before Christmas and move. It is a very exciting time.
Hope everyone else who is still here is going well....any other pregnancies???
Hopefully you are really soon Jo

I don't use BB anymore but I still get email updates from this thread (which is nice because I do miss you all). I just wanted to say a big CONGRATS to me-lisa. Wishing you a very happy & healthy pregnancy. :bellyrubs:
